Random Bo Sinclair Headcanons!!

authors' note: these are def just personally influenced, and if im being honest this was in my drafts for like.. a year and a half I think, and well I wrote it in the dead of night and was emotional and delirious. anyway, if u like any of these or wanna discuss his pass leave a note or reblog!!

Bo likes reading—mostly nonfiction but he has read a good amount of fiction when he gets his greasy hands on them. He needs glasses to read sometimes. reads when he isn't busy, andusually is before before (if he isn't drunk lol)

He likes to sketch—in his childhood Vince was the artist, just naturally good at it. His parents hoped Bo could have an artistic talent as well, but soon gave up when they realized he was too much to handle. Bo always liked to randomly doodle when he got bored. Likes to doodle whatever he can, in his youth it was usually just funny sketches of people that he'd make fun of

Has a great ass singing voice—first heard him humming in the garage to some song. Later that day after Bo n u got a couple of beers down, the music was low and playing and you heard him just belt it out. Sure it mostly comes out when he’s drunk but gad damn . You just egg him on because you need more bo singing voice.

He likes a lot of alt music. Loud shit. Metal. Rock. Etc. But he’s also secretly into classic romantic shit., (to me personally just the vibe of romantic older music, but im bad w names so like idk songs like put your head on my shoulder dunno)

He has like only three different caps that he circulates through. Theyre all dirty so help him out here, gift him a new one or help him wash them bec them caps are dirty as shi

He just has stickers and he puts them almost everywhere. In certain spots on the truck, in the garage, on his tool box case, etc. Some are from the people he and his brother catch, and others are ones he's gotten on his own over time (there's a sticker in his truck that is most definitely a hello kitty sticker, he denies it was him but he stuck it on when he was plastered and is unable to rip the sticker off its place)

Never learned how to ride a bicycle. Him and his brothers not having the best upbringing, they never really got those bonding moments. I imagine one day after finding a bicycle, and assuming you know how to ride one, he just looks at you as if you discovered a new planet. he never considered that other people knew how to ride those things. So surprised and impressed. He wont ask you to teach him so you kinda have to like coax him to try it. Would definitely get frustrated. I also imagine that if theres a possibility of kids, and he sees you teaching them how to ride a bike he would definitely be holding back tears when he sees you teaching them how to ride a bike (he'll join in bec he wants to learn too but he'd just stand on the side until you tell him to try it)

Ok throwback to my Ponyboy HC's post where I said Dally is really supportive of Pony's hobby in art!!!!!

Dally might be (secretly ofc he would never admit it) like the #1 fan of Pony's art, besides Johnny and Soda obvi

He really likes watching him sketch and paint, it's memorizing to him and he can't fathom how it looks like a picture from a camera almost, he tells him that too. ("I dunno how you're able to do that so quickly, Pone." "It looks like a photograph almost.")

Pony always tries to downplay his talents and Dally (ofc in his mean/tough love Dally way lol) tells him not to do that and to not sell himself short

Dally truly believes Pony could be famous from his art. That he could get out of Tulsa and make a name for himself. He doesn't really know how to communicate that to him besides the rare compliment here and there.

Another throwback to the post where I did the hc that Johnny and Dally will sit in and listen to Pony read,,

Dally doesn't like reading, never really cared for it. He thinks Pony reading all the time is a little funny and he'll tease him abt time to time.

When he first finds Johnny sitting in the lot with Pony and Pony reading one of his books out loud to Johnny he obviously had to interrupt and obviously sit with them (they're happy to include him btw they don't mind 😭😭)

Dally will not. Shut. Up. He asks Pony abt a million questions abt the book. ("Well why'd the guy go and do that?" "Why's he stupid?" "Wait what happened before that?" "What's that ladies name again?" "Wait What's she look like again?")

This is one of the very few (and probably first) times Pony talks back/sasses Dally ("Why don't you be quiet and let me finish reading the page? And then maybe you'll know what's happening.")

Idk how to explain this but Dally is def the type of friend to feed into his friends delusions 😭 or like hype them up for something they definitely SHOULD NOT do,, like ykwim?? And he def does it with Pony

He definitely encourages Pony to get into a little bit of trouble, just a tiny bit.

Obviously Pony can get in trouble on his own and he does plenty but Dally just encourages it a little bit more lol

He calls it "getting Pony out of his comfort zone" while Darry calls it "peer pressuring" (there was def a conversation/argument abt it 😭😭) (Dal: I am NOT peer pressuring him, I'm getting him out of his comfort zone. Dar: yes you are Dal! Dal: No I'm not! Pony do you feel peer pressured?! Say no. Pony: No... Dal: See?! He's fine. He's having fun!)

Dally 100% keeps Pony out of any real trouble tho, the kind that'd get him sent away or seriously hurt. He'd never encourage him to do something bad enough to warrant those things.

Ok, Dally is actually really nice but in a mean way. Like he's aggressively nice where no one's sure if they're being threatened or complimented or insulted. He's no different with the gang

If Pony or Johnny are like really bad at something Dally will threaten the rest of the gang to lie and be nice 😭😭😭 he won't be nice because it's not expected of him but he'll make everyone else be nice.

One time Pony tried to bake a cake and for some reason he just can't bake. He can cook fine but not bake. So it was like awful but ofc the gang tried it.

When Pony isn't paying attention Dally turns to the gang and straight up threatens them. ("This thing tastes like shit but you're all gonna tell him it tastes good or I swear I'll shove your faces into the cake.")

Dally has no idea WHY he does it, cuz he's not nice (he is) and he doesn't care abt Johnny or Pony's, or really anyone's, feelings (he does he's just emotionally constipated 😭😭😭)

Dally still is kinda mean to Pony though, not mean but like teasing?? Like in a big brother way

Sometimes he just says things without really thinking abt it or randomly teases him (like Pony reading all the time and being a nerd and not talking to girls)

One night they're both sitting on the porch smoking and it's kinda late and Dally randomly just says "ya'know I don't really mean it, right?" And Pony says yeah and Dally just nods and they go back inside.

After that Dally still teases him and stuff but Pony kinda knows now to not really take it heart cuz that's just Dally being Dally.

From an outsiders perspective it does look/sound like Dally is just being and a-hole 😭😭 but the gang just knows him enough that it's some weird love language he has to just be mean to them 😭

Whenever Dally's about to do something really stupid/dangerous/illegal he threatens Pony and Johnny to not do it

Before he does anything he'll look both of them in the eyes and either tell them to beat it incase the police show up or back up and hideout

He looks directly at Pony and goes "Do NOT tell Darry I did this infront of you or else." ("Do not, and I mean do not, EVER do what I'm about to do or I'll beat both of you.")

Dally is basically like the only one rlly allowed to be mean/tease Pony (in his head at least 😭)

Dally makes fun of him plenty and Pony just rolls his eyes and laughs. Dally will ruffle his hair and punch him in the arm and all that.

But the minute someone who isn't Darry or Soda or himself says something rude to Pony he just gets so mad 😭

One time he threatened Steve cuz Steve said something to Pony. ("You better shut up and leave the kid alone, Steve.") (Steve's confused cuz like not even 5 seconds ago Dally just called Pony an idiot or something 😭😭)

He's especially this way with socs and authority figures

And it's not like Pony can't defend himself or anything, Dally knows he can but he just gets mad anyways and again he just starts talking before thinking and next thing he knows he's nearly throwing hands with someone cuz they were an a-hole to his friend lol

He's basically the "only I can be mean to him and no one else can" type of friend 😭

THIS IS LIT SUCH AN HONOR OKAY WTF THANK U ANON... I always wonder if how I perceive zuko is in line with his canon self. This pleases me greatly. As for fics recs that focus on him. That is a very general statement because I read ship fics and gen fics and I like a lot of tropes So . I'm literally just gonna go thru my bookmarks and share my favorites with reckless abandon. Everything I'll Never Say by thesometimes warrior (zuko and iroh) -this one is literally so important to my fn royal family hcs. Like the idea that there are things you cant say in the palace so it leaves a lot of room for misunderstanding and drama lol. thesometimeswarrior is one of my favorites and I'd highly recommend their other stuff their iroh pov is REALLY good midnight snack by jammingkambing (iroh and zuko) -features one of my fav headcanons (that zuko likes cooking).... its so quiet and subtle and sad and dear to me... winter solstice: an addendum by parsnipit (zukka + zuko and the b1 gaang) -a zuko joins the gaang early fic!! its what inspired my sketches about the au a couple days ago. its got some zukka slowburn if you're into that. its zuko centric but it's got a very good focus and balance of the whole b1 gaang and their relationships with each other (not just zukos relationships with each of them) and the pacing is well done. the different povs are also sooo well written too. its unfinished and idk if its ever gonna be continued sadly but it does leave off at a pretty good place (b1 finale) so it still satisfies me whenever I reread it Cheating at Pai Sho by MuffinLance (zuko and the b1 gaang) -this one isn't particularly zuko-centric but it is a zuko joins the gaang early fic (???) (kind of.). I recommend it regardless because it is literally so funny. It's ongoing too I'd recommend wayyy more but while I read a pretty fair amount of fic I am actually very picky about ones that I like in their entirety and the ones I like in their entirety are the only ones I bookmark and then rec to people. scratches head

kinnporsche heyyy ep 8

shit i love about ep 8:

- one of the things that really helps to sell kinn and porsche being bonkers into each other is that so much of this opening sex montage is goofy. lady and the tramping a piece of bread isn't inherently or objectively hot, but they clearly think it's hot as fuck and that makes it work. 

i just love how kinnporsche's sex scenes are another element of drawing out characters and their relationships. they don't feel shoehorned in because where and when and how and why characters have sex is deeply rooted in who they are. and i love that shit. 

- YOK THE WINGWOMAN. tem got his heart broken by tae and time i will not be taking further questions at this time. 

- THIS DATE! AHHH! first, kinn wearing porsche's outfit is dummy romantic shit. second, porsche turning into an instagram girlfriend is very gay nerves relatable. third, i'm just always a sucker for a good "i'm sorry this thing i planned was so terrible"/"idk what you're talking about i had a GREAT night" exchange. 

- so yes, the fact that porsche has never gone on a single date before made my soul fully exit my body. what i particularly like about this is, again, the delicate balance this show has in terms of Why Porsche Is Nervous About This Date. i really love that his nerves aren't coming from being seen as queer, but because he's never dated another dude and he doesn't really know what he's doing. but then surprise! he wouldn't know what he was doing if kinn was a girl. it's such a good way to let porsche have some nerves about this without it being rooted in homophobia. 

- given the "i didn't know you were such a slut," comment in ep 7, kinn having his own second slut behavior phone is funny as shit to me. 

- pete dipping the moment it looks like they might get caught. a wingman, yes, but a survivor first and foremost. you gotta use your forearms to block those neck strikes, porsche!!

- every agonized, smitten expression that crosses kim's face when porchay is playing for him. 

- porsche's fear of ghosts + that he always goes running to kinn to protect him about it. (also the shot of kinn popping back into frame with the fucking dick in his mouth is comedy gold) 

- finally, justice 4 porsche's forensic artist sketch.

Book #134 - Jingo by Terry Pratchett

(technically this is a second read... technically... just that past!me wasn't really good at keeping plots straight, apparently)

See, I'm quite sure I understood more of it than when I read this at twelve (who the fuck allowed me-)... but I still feel like something is eluding me. Put this on the list of Discworld books that I need to reread because the central idea hasn't quite clicked.

Literally, I just know that I have read it, fallen in love with Ahmed, and that my brain has gone brrr a lot - at least judging by the amount of post-its now stuck to the pages.

So I guess lets count down some observations again.

At the end of the book, Leonard returns to his cell attic by himself, avoiding the traps he himself built... A little ways before, he sits alone in the Boat, sketching modifications for it and absentmindedly adding a saw to the roof to "cut the hulls of enemy ships"... then he tears up the sketch. So... Leonard knows. On some level. And based on this... it isn't just that people would misuse his inventions for the purpose of hurting one another that forces his isolation. It is rather that being among other people brings inspiration, brings innovation, of a whole new kind than when you are alone, and when that innovation is war - well, then it is better to just lock yourself up again, because fuck that. And Leonard knows. Occasional visits from Vetinari is all the socialization a man needs, when his brain could end the world.

(I'm also convinced Leonard is gay, based solely on the fact that his sketches of the Boat apparently involved musceled oarsmen, given more detail than strictly necessary for a schematic...do with that what you will (or maybe this is widely known fandom knowledge, Idk. am I telling you something new here?))

My brain is also doing funny things with Nobby's dating/crossdressing subplot. I'm not quite sure what, and I feel like I need a few months of therapy to fully be able to parse it, but... it's certainly doing things!

I have yet to fully understand Vimes' and Ahmed's conversation in the desert, partly because I feel it is key to grasping the heart of this book and I just couldn't quite- All I know right now is that I love it, and it is doing things to my brain, and Ahmed is- I don't know. He- hm.

1. Who or what got you into F1?

Basic bitch answer but my dad. He was a big fan, and his dad was a fan. I was plonked infront of the TV to watch it as a kid, and grew up never missing a race. That was until Sky Sports braught it off chanel 4, and now my family can't afford to watch it anymore. I have to pirate it now coz I AINT PAYING 50 A MONTH go fuck yourself Sky Sports.

2.Who was the very first F1 driver you supported? Do you support them now? Have your opinions on them differed or stayed the same since then?

Probably Lewis? Or Jenson? I was (still am) a Mclaren fan as a kid, and my dad always cheered on English drivers, so I just copied him. I still love them both now, my opinions havn't changed on them at all!

3.Who’s your current favourite F1 driver?

Current grid? Probably Max, Fernando or Oscar. They are all so so talented, it's just a pivalidge to watch them drive. I think they're all really funny in their own ways too.

My favourite driver ever? Senna, obviously. Or Prost.... Can't ever pick.

4.Is there a driver pairing or pairings you support? What made you attracted to that pairing in the first place?

I support all and any pairings. F1 RPF in all forms is delicious thankyou. My faves are: Prost X Senna, Carlos X Lando, Max X Charles, Peroni X Villeneuve, George X alex, Mika X Michael, and Nigel X Elio.

The only ship I don't really vibe with is Pierre X Charles? Like idk I just don't feel it. But I'll still read it so lol

5. Do your parents, siblings or relatives have a favourite team and/or favourite driver(s)?

My dad supports Mclaren same as me. My sister isn't really into it? She finds charles hot and will watch edits of him but shes never watched a race or really gives a shit about the actual driving. Shes here for the thirst traps and Ferrari merchandise and I respect that so much.

6. Do you have any favourite races? Are there any that stand out to you the most?

Dallas, Texas 1984. What a fucking shit show. Absolute comedy sketch. Everything about that dumb race is so funny to me.

7. Do you have a favourite circuit? Can be from the past or from the current calendar.

Hungaroing! It was the first F1 race I ever attended, and the joy I get out of watching it and screaming 'IVE BEEN THERE IVE BEEN THERE' never leaves. The first race in person was special, so hungaoring is special now too.

8. Have you ever been to an F1 race in real life? Feel free to tell us your experience going to one if you like

Yes. And I don't know why but I was so shocked at how friendly everyone was. I think I was expecting it to be like football, but everyone got along so well no matter the teams ect. I always get general admission now, because its so much fun to sit and make new friends with other F1 freaks!!! Everyone shares food, alcohol, blankets, brollies ect- its alwaus such a good atmosphere at everywhere I've been.

9. Have you ever met an F1 driver in real life?

Yes. Seb and Jenson. In the same day. I nearly exploded, but actually managed to come off very normal and composed.

10. Do you have a favourite F1 car? If so, what is it?

McLaren MP4/4 1988.

Does Greek mythology count as a fandom? Probably not but still there's definitely the community there.

Also i don't like the minute something becomes popular like a series or movie people jump to fanart and i feel the anxious urge that i have to draw it only because it's popular and it may gain popularity.

It's general yeah for commissions but internet has become hostile to new artists so eventually just focus on what i like the most. Though it's also not bad when your art gets appreciated.

well I count everything as fandom. Greek mythology itself is.... a mythology. The entirety of myths from a specific time and place. I would say "the people who like greek mythology" can consider themselves/be considered part of a fandom for sure. fandom isn't a scientific term so we can say "the cat fandom" etc, whatever we want.

Okay yeah, I understand the fear of missing out, but we also need to remember that the fanartists usually actually like the thing. when something is popular it means many people watch it and a percentage of these people are artists. if 1 in 50 people draws, when 50 people watch something then you have only 1 making art, if 50.000 people watch it then you have a thousand artists. that's an over simplification but I hope you get my point. FOMO is an issue we need to work on in ourselves because it's a useless burden.

There's a discussion i've seen happening a lot about the problem with fandoms getting faster and faster, where the majority of fans consumme everything within a month and then forget the thing afterwards, making fanartists feel like they have to rush. That's a problem with media in general imo, and it's up to everyone individually to understand this is a problem, slow down and enjoy things more and for a longer time. But there will always be people who are fans of a thing years and years after it's done. Star trek fanart, or lotr fanart is still doing extremely well out there.

When everyone and their mother is trying to market you a new band, a new game, a new series it doesn't help. At the same time, nobody can police how long people spend on any one interest and nobody owes anyone their free time and attention.

OKay so for commissions, as I said, if your art is good, and you build yourself a small community of artists (even just a few dozens of people) who will see you making a "commissions open" and reblog it, you can get some jobs. then one job will bring another, but it's a very slow process. Another thing about commissions is that you will absolutely get orders that do not interest you at all, and unless you're crazy succesful, you'll have to take them to make a living. so if you see your "making fanart of things you maybe aren't crazy about" as part of your job, maybe that will make it easier.

But literally, don't stress. Just post your art and try to focus on growing as an artist. If you don't rely on commissions to pay rent and food, literally give 0 fucks about the audience.

Final note, it really is extremely rewarding and the best motivation, to have your art appreciated by others. The more you grow and the more you share it, the more of that you'll get. People are usually very drawn to others who are passionate. Whatever you're passionate about, share it. Be annoying, even. post stupid sketches, post whatever. I thought I was just gonna be screaming into a void about alcibiades but i've found a bunch of people who also want to scream about him and it's great.

P.S. PRO TIP I JUST THOUGHT OF. One could say this is a bad thing, idk, but the way social media is, it pays off to show yourself along with your art. I don't mean show pictures. I mean post about your day. Post your thoughts, whatever. Make your presence more personal rather than "I just post my art", especially on places like twitter and tumblr. On instagram, you can do that through stories. Share funny things, be engaging. I have favorite artists that I know nothing about, but the ones I feel like I know personally I will be more likely to support by buying merch/commissions or helping them promote their stuff. It makes people feel like they can talk to you more.

decided to redesign my librarians a little bit and think what they would do if they get out of the library...they're so fun (the last guy isn't a librarian but he was so ugly i had to fully redesign him) i don't remember if those librarians were custom made or not (except i certainly remember that the first one wasn't) but uyhhuhuh yeah

in-game and pre-L corp sketches i made...2 years...ago...

each one separately with some lore under cut,..,.,.,.,.,,,

galina(she/her) before L corp had a funny case of being an urban legend just bc she killed people with her poems as an experiment a lot. yep. she can kill people by mentioning them in her poems and that's how she ended up parentless and went emo. but then not long after trying to stop being emo she got into L corp. where she kinda managed to try and be normal. doesn't write stuff much after her legend-retirement, but she's okay. (her lore is goofy but i like it and im leaving it that way)

after the library she became a fixer with narae, another librarian she got really close to.

narae(she/her) used to be a 6 grade fixer with her brother, mckenna, and sullivan, their good pal, who had a little brother that he also brought to office quite a lot. the siblings got tired and retired from being fixers and then boom they got invited to work at L corp. and they decided why not. mckenna died, but narae managed to restore from this in the library times.

as someone who actually knows how offices work, she started an office with galina, going back to business. sullivan's brother, tim, also ended up as a librarian after narae asked really nicely to unbook that random index proselyte. no-one knows where sullivan is, he just went missing one day and tim got into some bad influence. but tim probably also joined their new office, he wanted to become a fixer like his brother before.

'rittany(she/her) used to be a member of a funky syndicate. wasn't really enjoying her life there. she was almost killed in her childhood and saved by the green daze, who knew people who really wanted a child so kinda gave them her and they went along with it happily. she was trying to repay them all those years of care out of her own desire but ended up working for a shitty syndicate and got a little lost on what she's doing. then got a job offer from L corp and gladly changed her job.

she never was that good at violence, and didn't enjoy seeing such... i think after the library she ended up working at the flower shop and slowly getting some cash to go back to the district, the street, the house she used to live in, to see if her family is still there, see if they're okay.

orion, or the green daze(he/him) is just. a guy. literally. just a colour fixer bc i really wanted to have fun designing a colour fixer and that's it. he's a silly gooper with a kind heart but no actual sense of responsibility. saved a child and gave it away and disappeared. that's him. the guy. i just like roasting him for no actual reason i need to give him lore... but at least new design is cool!! the old one was so random lol.

(im very happy about giving him this new eye colour for betelgeuse, orion's alpha, being a red supergiant, and a silver(bluish) clip on his scarf-bandana-idk-thing with a dog for sirius(bc canis major is considered orion's dog), and changing skin tone was a great decision because making most characters white is very boring as it turns out and also his slight outfit style change makes me RAWARRHGRHG really cool one)

i wonder if he's alive...and what he's up to if he is...

I don't want to pit two queens (mark and seán) against each other but it's hard not to a little bit because youtuber alterego sketches are kind of a very... niche genre and frankly i'm not a big enough fan of other people who i've seen do it (like thomas sanders or... contrapoints??? i guess????) to compare off the top of my head.

Seán is just like......... startlingly good at dramatic acting? He is, i think, passible to decent at comedic acting, but not that remarkable among his peers, but weirdly anything he plays straight REALLY sticks with me? Like... a while ago, i saw the opening sketch from some horror series or smth that i didn't even watch clipped to twitter, and it was like. This completely wordless short film of him getting a package and opening it up and finding his own severed head, and i STILL think about it from time to time because it was just made really well. It was EXTREMELY uncomfortable, but not in a way that grossed me out or felt traumatizing (i sometimes have problems with filmed horror because it's too visceral), but because it felt so mundane and convincing while still being skincrawling. Less is more. (I might have some details wrong here, idk.)

Come to think about it, his acting in the tie dye ten minute power hour with the game grumps was also really fucking good for what it was. Like. There was no need to go that hard but he carried it.

I was... maybe more tense than was merited when i watched "say goodbye" (insert zalgo text), because it really just genuinely felt like his content from the time (i was somewhat casual fan and regular viewer for a year or so back in the beginning of the green hair era, so like, 2015?), but the breaks in character were so subtle that it felt.......... extra wrong. Like weirdly in 2022, the nostagia factor made it work better.

I also like how the need for a punchline has been peeled away more and more from the ego content. It's not that there's no humor... the dialogue was funny in the most video, there were bits, but it all served characterization and emotional connection rather than Jokes For Audience To Laugh At. You could watch that video with no idea who Chase is and be 100% drawn in to the core of the character (case in point, that's what happened to corv, they were doing watercolors when i put it on our tv and had never seen any of seán's ego content, and they groked that chase was super divorced before it was said lol). A lot of mark's stuff still feels like *sketches* with occasional emotional connective tissue, which isn't a bad thing by any means, but it's notable how different of a sensibility seán has... and in a weird way, they play in the same twinned truth: the audience is an intrinsic part of this, the eyes of 10, 20, 30 million people are inescapable. Seán plays into the horror aspect of it, which could easily become corny or trite, but doesn't, because he's got the restraint to pull it off.

As for the egos themselves, i don't have any deep cuts of faves (and not... a *great* sense of most of them) but also. Unfortunately Chase and Anti are two of my Known Types: pathetic divorced man who's extremely performative but losing his ability to cope or convince others, and grinning, chaotic supernatural being who has to possess or manipulate other people to enact his will (some of the girlies like vampires or werewolves but this bitch here has a sleeper fixation on poltergeists and trickster figures...) So needless to say, i am INVESTED now that i actually put in the time to get current.

AS SOON!!! As they got internet and stuff in the lair he learned EVERY SINGLE CUSS WORD ✨✨✨ He also learns very quickly how and when to use them etc etc because he finds them so funny, Also He ONLY uses them with villains and only when his brothers/family/friends aren't around!! He comes up with the weirdest crazy fuckin Insults and thinks they are SO funny <3 lol (... Projection maybe :3 )

He's PanRomanic Asexual, because He deserves to be alittle(ALOT) Fruity 💖 (Kinda projection but not really, I'm Pansexual so sorta close LOL)

Tends to learn how to use weapons REALLY fast, He finds it really fun and interesting to learn how to use his brothers weapons!!! :D

Reads ao3 fanfics, Doesn't write any but found out Leo writes them and loves reading his, Mikey's just so glad his Oldest Brother has something fun he likes to do that isn't really serious!!! :D

Doesn't like Horror Movies(To much gore for him normally) but fucking loves Psychological Horror. I was about the say he liked The Magnus archives, but it didn't start until 2016 lol. So Umm :3 He likes reading horror stories alot. (This is projection probably but hey, I think he would hehehe)

Forgets his own birthday almost every single year(Oops going angsty now beware >:3 ) He doesn't see his birthday as important as his brothers or even his fathers so his brain just forgets about it, He always remembers his brothers tho(this is paired with the headcanon that they choose different days in the same month so that they didn't have to have 4 different birthdays on the same day lol)

April gave them a notebook and Mikey sketches in it, he runs out of space and starts to draw in between every other drawing because he doesn't want to ask for another one... :')

HE PUTS STICKERS ON THAT NOTEBOOK!!!! they're not very good stickers but like, He's collected them for years, every time he found one that wasn't destroyed then he takes it >:3 His brothers know about his little stickers and leave any stickers they find in his room <3 :'D

believes in luckiness/unluckiness and that sorta, luck theory(I might be the only person who's thought of this So I'll explain it oops) Basically Mikey believes that if Something good happens to him the same amount of bad will also happen later on, and vise versa :3 He doesn't let it bother him but it's always in the back of his mind.

The last thing also plays a part in this one. Mikey doesn't like when something REALLY good happens to him. He 100% believes that something REALLY bad will happen to him sometime after, Normally it does tho so he's kinda valid for it :')

Loves Animals, All kinds, He doesn't technically have a favorite(Until ICK comes into his life and it becomes cats) He loves cows and dogs and bunnies(PROJECTION LOL) and fish and Frogs and birds and dinosaurs and erhjdkjgbhdfkjbndfkjnjdfns ALL OF THEM, He doesn't really have a least favorite tho :)

He finds soda really weird, He likes diet soda tho, for some Weird reason, If he were to ever go to a fast food place he'd do that thing where to put some of every drink choice in one cup >:) (That's projection kinda, I used to do that so much omg, not anymore tho sadge)

Day 9: Past

This challenge is making me realize i barely have characters, just pretty designs LOL.

Was only able to do some sketches today of what these two might look like/do in the future.

I wrote two pages about their future. And its pretty confusing, their story line isn't pinned down yet. So I imagine their stories ending in two different ways. Either dramatic death by police "Everybody dies" ending. Or the good ending, they live in a cabin in the woods together for the rest of their days.

I'll talk about the change in their looks first. Jeremiah finds confidence in his vampire identity, he shaves his snake tendrils, he's not afraid to show off his vampire ears. He gains a little bit of weight, grows an inch or two. I really like his jet black eyes, but I'm not too sure about the vampire lore in this universe, so his eyes could also be a fun color like purple or some. He's gotta have a face scar from their adventures i just don't know where, hehe. As for jack, I'm still unsure whether he's a natural blonde, or if he dyes his hair blonde so he doesn't look like his father. Either he dyes his hair black, or he lets his natural brown hair grow out. He also has a little stubble, because again he's less afraid of looking like his father. Another thing I'm unsure about in his design is his lip ring, hes supposed to be this macho guy so I don't think he could justify the lip ring. He also has a lot of punk influence though, so maybe thats how he justifies it? Its not gay because its cool and edgy punk. But maybe he gets one at the end of the story. IDK!!! see what i mean when I saw i barely have ocs LMAO nothing is figured out with these two and Ive had them for like 2 and half years now.

I explored the cabin option, bc i love my gay boys and want them happy. They live in this nice isolated cabin, since Jeremiah is the son of the vampire ruler they are living on the border of human land and vampire territory. Jeremiah probably gets delivers of blood from his father, and his father is the one who gave them the cabin. They've adopted three cats, more so jack adopted three cats. I drew up the cats designs, they would have 2 black cats, and one calico. They have batty, who is deaf but has huge ears. Hubert who is older and really beat up. He is missing an eye and an ear. Hubert's like the ring leader of the kitty trio. And then lily who is missing a leg. Jack is reconciling his past by taking care of these messed up creatures. He feels reflected in them, they are broken but he loves and takes care of them. Hubert is his favorite, he has a really rumbling purr.

I imagine their relationship is much better then the early years, falling into a dynamic thats good for the both of them. No more fighting and trying to kill each other, just a symbiotic relationship of Jeremiah drinking jacks blood and jack eating Jeremiah's arms occasionally LOL. Thats what I'm really struggling with, how do u give a happy ending to a delusional psycho cannibal. Jeremiah is very motherly to jack near the end, holds him a lot, kissed his fore head. They've almost switched power dynamics, jack no longer being the lead in the relationship.

I think jack has started to make peace with his homosexuality, he would never say it aloud, but his internal voices have reached an understanding. And by starting the process of dealing with that internalized hatred, he's opened the flood gates to processing all the traumas he been through. I think it would be SO funny if he saw a zoom therapist from their cabin, to understand his childhood trauma. He never tells the therapist about the murders, he still a vigilante about being caught by authorities. Jack spends a lot of time in the woods building those strange forest sculptures. He just spends hours everyday, in pure silence collecting sticks and assembling these huge sculptures. He's stopped popping pills and drinking, but still smokes pretty heavily. He's depressed because he's realizing what he's done to the peoples he's killed. I feel like he wouldn't feel bad about all of them, he still believes he had a right to kill the old men. He doesn't feel bad for the hooker, but the random kid, and the gay men he murdered. His father hurt him and his family so bad, and he's realizing that he wasn't taking power back from the universe he was just doing the exact same thing his father was. Jeremiah keeps him as stable as he can, but he breaks down a couple times, probably tries to commit. Probably tries to turn himself in. But Jeremiah doesn't let him. The story of the cannibal killer stays in news for a long time after. The police are still looking for the culprit. Jack tries not to watch the news, but he does. When he sees the family members talking about how much they want to find the bodies of their loved ones,, he cant handle it. He donates so much money to gofundmes for these familys. I feel like this is such a downer end to their story tho, so its still being work shopped. Like these two boys go on this epic coming of age story, and it ends with major depression hello. I think they could also both just stay delusional and murderous together, and like hunt down the occasional hiker. But IDK.

They still be kissin n shit, they are probably super comfortable with each other since they've spent so much time together. I think it would also be interesting if jack becomes sort of a famous sculpture, and in his old age reveals that he was the cannibal killer. He gets taken into custody, but they don't have any evidence to prove that he he truly is and he gets let go. A homosexual famous sculpture claims he was the cannibal killer from 30 years ago. Jeremiah doesn't age obviously becauses he a vampire. I don't really care about their story after this, I dont want to think about them growing old together and jack eventually dying. That is just sad and uninteresting!

just me rambling and thinking out loud

I have a writing wip going right now that I'm really liking the concept of, but I'm having two problems with it. One is that I can see the visuals and the aesthetics of it and even also the sounds of it really

clearly, but idk how to write about it in such a way that gets the energy across right. And that's making me think that it would work better in a different medium. It would be cool if I could animate it but that's not really feasible for me right now, so tbh ideally it would be a little short film, which would be super cool so maybe I'll turn that around in my head for a bit. I could maybe try writing it as a regular short story and then rewriting it as a script (not that I know how to write a script). And stop motion would be cool. I considered a comic version as well for about two seconds but I don't think I'd be able to get the flow and motion of it right. I'm imagining this so extremely specifically, oy. Maybe I could use it as an experiment with switching between mediums. Anyway the second problem is that I've been reading so much Douglas Adams lately that I'm basically just imitating his writing style, which is fine because it's fun and I do want to be able to incorporate some of that into the way I write, and also Neil Gaiman said something that stuck in my head about how you have to sound like other people before you find your own voice (or something like that, I don't remember the exact quote unfortunately). But also not fine because I want to write something that feels like I wrote it myself in my own style. The older stories I've been posting feel more like my own style but probably just because I wasn't reading as actively (or actively hyperfixating on anything much), but also some of the humor feels dated in a way, like I was copying the kind of stuff I had watched on tv or something and isn't all that funny to me anymore and some of it rubs me the wrong way now. I only post the ones I do like somewhat though so I don't really have good examples of that for you. But anyway back to the current thing. I think I'm also getting ahead of myself because I don't even know where the story is going, my process lately has been to just start writing and see where it takes me but I usually expect myself to have it done right in one draft (with a few edits granted), when in reality I should try the technique of writing it and then starting over from the beginning and writing it again and again until it's better. I feel like I've heard that recommended by a few people but I don't remember who, anyway I've been wanting to try it but I'm usually too impatient. I've been doing that with drawing here and there, instead of messing with a sketch into oblivion I just start over; I used to be scared to do that because I didn't want to lose what I already had on the paper but then I realized that the sketch is usually way better if I just redo it and it works really well, highly recommend. My mom had been telling me to do that for ages but the way my brain is I had to come to it myself. Um. Idk where I was going with this

Coming back up here cause I wasn't planning on hard gushing about Manhwa when I started writing but I went off. I was planning on just going over some of the plans for the day. You have been forewarned

I'm finding some really good manhwa. like holy shit dude. Maybe I need to look for that side of tumblr

Notable ones: World's Greatest Senior Disciple (great art, story and characters), Infinite Mage (not even through the first chapter but so far great art and introduction execution)

The art in the first one reminds me so much of avatar dude. The fl has Azula's fucking face, but is so expressive, passionate and funny. MC and fl are both really smart, dumb and stupidly stubborn. It's a very tightly laced story. Each thread pulled reveals things that are or will be relevant later. It's a fucking mystery. I didn't realize I was jumping into a mystery last night and I was fucking hooked by the time it clicked. (I do like mysteries I just don't tend to seek them out)

Starts out with this martial clan getting their shit wrecked by loan sharks. MC shows up after being assumed killed in action during the war two years ago right as the sharks are trying to cut the youngest's arm off and destroys them. Something happened in those two years and he got ridiculously strong because of it, but he's pretty tight lipped about it and is far more focus on whatever is going on in the region. The war is over, the demon dead, and yet the land seems lawless upon his return and one of his brothers are missing

MC (or very very likely MC) in the second is incredibly one track minded and very obviously a reincarnator, but isn't introduced in that first person 'oh I died some how and woke up in a baby's body in an other world' bit that starts off most of these stories. (I don't necessarily dislike the bit, but only a few stories handle it well. Mushoku Tensei is probably the best with this. Most of them feel rather clunky, but I'm isekai trash so meh) And that bit very likely happened to our likely MC, but that's not how the story is introduced. Hell MC ain't our intro character. It's his hunter dad. Hears a baby crying in the dead of night, is suspicious cause a baby/ family getting past all the traps he set up on his land isn't possible and grabs an axe to check it out. He makes a comment about him and his wife not being able to have kids and then he immediately finds this baby. No explaination how it got there, why it's alone and he's practically glowing

Think these two might be up there with Trash of the Count's Family for me. They're probably better written, but I'm a simp for Cale and it's still some amazing writing. (It's gotta be for me to binge 610 chapters of a webnovel for a few days straight after reading the first few manhwa chapters.)

Aaannnyway gonna get back to drawing today. I was in a pretty nasty funk yesterday(went away after did some dishes and found a comic to read. It was difficult to find something that piqued my interest since most of what I was finding was stuff I've already read or just didn't appeal to me). I'm doing much better now!

I started little flash cards for the characters in Being Fired yesterday and am thinking maybe I should change how I'm approaching writing it? Switch to a script cause I'm overwhelming tempted to just make this project a comic. (I basically decided to do that when I committed to the group shot and started doing all those warm up, but was afraid to admit that to myself.) I've tried writing scripts before but didn't know what I was doing, but maybe actively drawing shit relating towards it and distancing myself more from describing actions will help? Idk idk, but Imma try. It's the only fic I've gotten fully out lined so far and I think I got a better chance at drawing it rather then writing it

Gonna draw Red more for the warm up probably. Might fuck with the sketches from the last warm up cause his head is just so off and I don't want those in the ref file like that

Then back to the groupshot finish that up and maybe start sketching Zim and the Tallest? Might switch to forcing myself to work on backgrounds for a while instead. Also might need to start blocking out time for stuff since I'm not really hitting shit on my list. Either way I wanna work on writing and drawing on the same days some times instead of focusing fully on one or the other

He could have kicked himself. He's finally seen the infamous Kaz Brekker without a stich of clothing, and he'd been too worried about ending up on a pike to pay proper attention.

ok i got a couple of things to say about this part

first of all it makes me so sad that jes cares so much for someone who dosn't deserve him. because no hate to kaz but they would never work as a couple and kaz already treats him like shit most of the time

i think this part shows who a lot about who jesper really is. a boy that grew up having to hide parts of himself, who thinks he's worth nothing but it's smart and capable, who's loyal and brave and caring but doesn't even know it himself. he's someone who feels he doesn't deserve good things and thinks he's not good enough, and that's why he unds up in all the wrong places with the wrong people. he left uni bc he fell in with the gangs, because he didn't think he was smart enough or even prepared to be in studying in the university. jesper is constantly hiding behind a mask or running from things because he's scared of not being enough

an kaz is everything jes in a way wishes he could be. kaz is secure in himself (at least on the outside), he's stable, he's smart, he's "unshakeable". and most of all, he doesn't care about others (we know that's not true but that's how he presents himself)

and that's the thing that causes jesper all his problems. because he's insecure because he thinks he's not good enough for the poeple or things he cares about. and he's always trying to do what's best for his loved ones: he went to the ice court to pay his debt for his father, he follows kaz everywhere beacause he cares about him, he offered to read to wylan (knowing it wouldn't be easy for him to be still that long).

and yeah it often doesn't work out becuase he's messy and he has problems but he tries. and he hates that. he hates that he cares so much about people because at the end of the day, that's what makes him feel like he's not good enough

one more thing and i'm done i promise

unpopular opinion but i love that leigh made jesper have a crush on kaz. 1 beacuse it's refreshing to see someone not get otgether with his first crush. and 2 because i love that it shows that we sometimes get attached to people that are not good for us, but that we can learn to move on. jesper ended with wylan who respects him and values him, unlike kaz

I think I'll go with TYK, because the show's version of him is pretty different.

one aspect about them i love

I'm trying to put something coherent into words, but honestly... that bit of backstory about how he was so obedient and sycophantic and wormed his way into the former Valley Master's good graces, and then killed him in the most grisly manner possible and banned anyone else from coming too close to him? Good stuff.

Just, how his nearly his entire life has been based on his own survival above all things, on fighting tooth and nail for his life and for ownership of himself and his body, and how he will put himself through the most gruesome ordeals to do so.... yeah, good stuff.

one aspect i wish more people understood about them

Hmm, I honestly don't feel like I have many polemical opinions about him (yet), except for the aforementioned point that he and Zhou Zishu are pretty similar in personality. I know there's other meta about him in the "counterpoints to popular conceptions" vein that I've agreed with, but in terms of what I personally feel strongly about? I've got nothing, unfortunately.

(Well, there's also the matter of my constantly bumping up against depictions of both his and Zhou Zishu's approach to sexual ethics that feel very off to me, but... that's another post.)

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character

That "we have no men or women" line about Ghost Valley (in reference to normal social structures/hierarchies not existing there) has apparently been taking up the space in my brain dedicated to serious thought, so - Wen Kexing and gender.

Because patriarchal gender roles, as a part of the normal social order, aren't really present in the Ghost Valley, there's a degree to which he... idk, romanticizes the gender relations present in the outside world, because - primarily due to his parents' relationship - he associates them with order and safety and stability. It's why he's invested in the way he is in Cao Weining and Gu Xiang's relationship (I'm thinking of the comment he makes about who packs their bags, for instance), and borrows so much from marriage paradigms in thinking about his relationship with Zhou Zishu (even if he does modify some of it for gay reasons, as with the "someone sings, someone follows" quote).

That said, he's not likely to fail to take women seriously as fighters, either. And because gender isn't really as much of a factor in how power dynamics break down in the Ghost Valley, he doesn't feel very defensive of his masculinity or feel that that aspect of himself is the most worthy of protection, because gender performance is not the way to power in a dog-eat-dog, kill-or-be-killed environment.

one character i love seeing them interact with

Zhou Zishu, naturally. The flirting is wonderful, of course, but what really gets me are the moments where Zhou Zishu manages to catch him off guard or startle him with sincerity. The mask-removal scene, and the part where he says "you want to keep me?" all taken aback, really bring out such a new side of him.

Gu Xiang should belong here as well, as I've mentioned that their book relationship lands much better for me in the show. The death scene in particular hits me hard, and also the little hints we get of what their dynamic are just enough to sketch out a really compelling portrait and make me want to know more. It's something I really like about Priest's less-is-more approach. She's so good at hinting and implication!

one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more

Wu Xi! I still think a friendship between them, with all of Wen Kexing's crude humour and Wu Xi's firm belief that sex ought to be private, would be extremely funny. Unstoppable force vs. immovable object.

Head empty only Wenzhou sex headcanons.... you know that scene where Wen Kexing prances in looking like he just had sex, and Zhou Zishu is like "what kind of beauty put those scratch marks on your wrist?" and Wen Kexing is like "oooh, are you jealous?" I firmly believe that early in their sexual explorations Zhou Zishu left similar marks on his wrist while in the throes of passion, and Wen Kexing teased him about it afterwards.
