i have this h2g2 headcanon that i'm really rather fond of. im gonna talk about it.

okay so first of all, ford has to be able to speak english. which means that he learned how to speak english. and no, i refuse to believe that betelgeusian Just So Happens to work exactly like english, wow what a weird and useful coincidence! because (a) that's just lazy worldbuilding, and (b) we have at least one word in betelgeusian that translates into english: ford's name, ix. "ix" isn't a given name, it's a betelgeusian word given to ford as a nickname because he couldn't say his own name—and, presumably, neither could anybody around him.

i say that ford has to be able to speak english because he lived for fifteen years on a planet full of people without babel fish in their ears. if he came down and started babbling in betegeusian, he would have had a very different experience here. so he either learned english before hitching a ride to earth (highly unlikely, imo, considering how little a role earth plays in the galaxy—i doubt any earth language is too well-known in the wider galaxy), or he had to learn english when he first arrived. this latter is also backed up, to me, by the fact that ford was a bit careless in his original research. i just feel like he would have done the same thing as when he chose a name: get it almost right, but just a little bit off.

i do think ford picks up languages really quickly. in most parts of the galaxy, it doesn't matter if he can speak a language or not, since babel fish are pretty readily available, and everybody has one. however, because babel fish are so readily available, there's no need for a universal language that everybody speaks. the babel fish only work for your ears, not your eyes, so somebody as well-traveled as ford would, by necessity, pick up some basics in a lot of different languages. these basics probably include primarily what you'll find on menus and in travel ports, if i had to guess. (maybe there's some kind of companion to the guide, a hitchhiker's dictionary. maybe that's part of the guide? idk.)

but aside from the necessity of being able to read at least bits and pieces of many languages when one hitchhikes, i think ford does it to make up for not knowing his dad's praxibetel. so what, he never learned the dialect his father loved. so what, he couldn't ever learn to say his own name. so what, he killed his own father/uncle by doing so. so what?? he's gonna learn every other language in the galaxy, just to prove that he can. he's running around the galaxy, convinced that if he can write an article about a planet and know its dialects well enough to read and write them, then what happened to him won't ever happen to anybody else.

and that leads me to my next conclusion: that ford speaks accented english. obviously, everybody does, but i rather like the idea that the way he talks on earth—and possibly, everywhere else—always strikes everybody around him as different. everything else about him does—why shouldn't his voice? so yeah my ford doesn't have a british accent.

but of course, once they're off earth, up in space, once arthur has a babel fish, there's no need for ford to speak english anymore, so he returns to his native betelgeusian ... which leads to a rather surprised arthur going, "ford, what the hell happened to your accent?!"

because since ford isn't speaking a language arthur already knows, the babel fish has to translate his speech now! and i suppose i don't think the babel fish translates accents. like, i guess i don't totally understand how the babel fish works (am i meant to?) but ... i don't know. i think the fish eats up sound waves and what it excretes is something the user can understand based on what's already in their mind. that is to say, arthur, who grew up british and with british accents, hears anything the babel fish as to translate in a british accent. so when ford stops speaking accented but understandable english, and starts speaking a language arthur doesn't know, the babel fish translates with a british accent because that's just what's in arthur's mind.

tl;dr ford picks up languages really easily because he's got something to prove to his dead dad, he speaks english, and it confuses the hell out of arthur when he stops speaking english because the babel fish doesn't translate accents. this is one of my favorite headcanons about ford.

A Mistake - Pope Heyward × fem!reader

summary: Pope and y/n wake up after a heavy night of drinking, and what looks like a hookup, and have to face the consequences of the night.

author's note: this is my first time writing Pope, so idk if it's good or not. but I had this idea after I thought about Sex Education (the Netflix show) and I couldn't stop thinking about it, so here I am, presenting this fic to you like a newborn baby (i should stop making sick jokes)

The night was a daze. You can barely remember anything that happened after you found that unopened bottle of tequila. The only thing you do know, is that you finally, with the help of alcohol, had the guts to tell your crush how you feel about him. 

Waking up hungover is a slow process, first you blink open your eyes, the room looks unfamiliar to you, but that's just how it is sometimes. Your head feels like it's grown ten times bigger overnight, and your throat feels sore. Although the pounding in your ear is growing quieter, it doesn't help with the overall nausea that has your body and mind in a chokehold. You try to remember what happened; how you arrived with your best friends; how they both basically vanished after each found a respectable guy for the night; how you drank your loneliness away and- You roll over to your other side, slowly, to not wake the person who just groaned next to you. 

Pope feels like the night before was probably the lowest point in his life. He got high and drunk, thanks to no other than his best friend JJ, and went on a rant about how Kiara had fucked him over. Usually he keeps his face clean with the nice facade of “I'm over it” but that was washed away by the third shot and the end of the first joint. Pope has a philosophy to not hold grudges against his friends, because he knows that it's just gonna ruin his friendships in the long run. Also, he would have too many grudges up until now if he did hold onto them. But when Kie lied to him about liking him too, when she stole his first kiss just to break up with him a day later- He was hurt to say the very least. 

“Dude, just let it all out,” JJ encouraged him that night, and boy, oh boy, did he. But what Pope didn't expect was when you had popped up, basically out of nowhere, and yelled at him about how oblivious and annoying he was for not even seeing you as anything more than his lab partner. And maybe, if he wasn't drunk, he wouldn't have been so bold to ask you to dance after you were done screaming at him. 

And maybe if he hadn't asked you to dance, you wouldn't have kissed him and asked him to go upstairs. And then maybe he wouldn't have slept with you, and he could remember more about it than just how good it felt. 

“Oh God,” he groans louder than he wanted to, making his own head hurt even more. 

“You're alive,” you huff, sitting on the edge of the bed, your clothes already on after you scrambled to get up as soon as you had seen him. 

“What happened?” Pope asks, but he knows it's just what he thinks it is, what he feels with his body naked under the flimsy sheet. 

“We made a mistake,” you shake your head, not daring to look at him and get lost in his eyes, or the curve of his lips. 

“Did we-” Pope doesn't want to say it, maybe because there is still a tiny bit of hope that it had just been a dream. 

“Yes,” you hiss, walking around the room trying to find the one piece of evidence that you need. 

“What are you doing?” He rubs his face with his large hands, and when you look at him, it's almost like you can still feel it; the way he held you and touched you, scared to hurt you, as if you're the most delicate and precious thing he's ever gotten to hold. 

“I'm looking for the condom. I'm pretty sure we used one, but I want to be double sure,” you mumble while leaning down to check under the bed, yet you find nothing.

“Uhm, okay. Do you- Was I okay?” he asked sheepishly, his Adam's apple bobbing and making you want to kiss him again, just to know if it feels as good now as it did last night. 

“I think so. Can't remember much, just that you kept asking if I was okay and that you weren't hurting me,” you say and he nods. 

“Okay, cool,” he keeps on nodding, holding onto the sheet and looking at you as if he's uncomfortable in his own skin. 

“You know what, I'm gonna go and you can keep looking. But I'm like 98% sure we used one,” you speak up and turn to leave without another word. 

As soon as you are home, you start puking until you feel like your stomach has turned inside out. 

You hate yourself for what you did, for saying all those things to him and then still ending up in bed with him. Pope doesn't sleep around, that's a well known fact, but you can't help but wonder if he only did it to shut you up and get you to stop pursuing him, like a “get it out of your system” fuck. 

And while you ponder over the night, and try to piece together every little detail, even texting mutual friends to see if they have more knowledge about it, Pope finds himself lying on the porch couch at the Château. 

“That’s my man,” JJ laughs loudly as he walks up the stairs and Pope flips him off. 

“Can you be quiet,” he groans, folding his arms over his head to block out as much light as possible. 

“Dude,” JJ quiets down a bit, but he's still laughing. “First you go full crazy bitch on Kie, and then you fuck that nerdy chick? Please tell me if she's just as much of a freak as she looks like.” 

“What?” Pope lifts his arm to glance at the blonde. 

“You know, the shy girl stereotype?” JJ quips, sitting down in an armchair.

“I have no idea what you are talking about, and I can't remember anything. I can't even remember if we used protection. I'm fucked. Completely fucked, JJ,” Pope sighs, if he could sink to the bottom of the ocean to avoid the embarrassment, he would do it. 

“That's not good. You can pray that she's on birth control, dude, or like get her Plan B,” JJ shrugs and leans back.

“Why did I even listen to you? You're like the devil on my shoulder,” Pope shudders, his body isn't as accustomed to hangovers like JJ is. 

“Shut up, you love me. And you needed that, if not just for a good fuck. I mean, when was the last time you got laid?” JJ asks, but his friend doesn't answer, too embarrassed to admit it, after all JJ is the one who keeps trying to get him to hook up with girls, always making sure they can both get some, the perfect wingman. 

“No way,” JJ shakes his head. 

“Way,” Pope sighs. “What if she's pregnant? What if I fucked everything up, and I can't even remember?” 

That's when his phone rings, and he feels like throwing it against the wall, and if he had the money for a new one he would just do it. 

“Pope's phone, JJ speaking. How can I help you today?” JJ had picked the phone from his pocket and took the call, with Pope even trying to intervene. 

“Is Pope there? I have to talk to him,” your voice quivers and JJ almost drops the phone, he's as giddy as he was the first time he saw boobs, maybe not as much, but it's in the range. 

“Yes, I'm gonna hand him over right now,” JJ grins and hands the phone to Pope. You don't understand why Pope hangs out with his friends, most of them aren't really who you would expect him to be friends with, but you don't want to judge him, or them, too much because truly you only know the rumors. 

“Hi, Pope?” you ask after a low “m-hm” came through the speaker. “It's y/n, uhm, I wanted to ask if you could come by the pharmacy and help me out.”

“Why are you at the pharmacy?” Pope hates the fact that his brain doesn't work as well when he's drunk or hungover. 

“I'm trying to buy the morning after pill, just to be sure, you know, but I don't have enough cash and their card scanner is broken,” you whisper into your phone, not wanting the pedestrians to hear what you were about to do. 

“I can be there in ten,” Pope replies while sitting up, but he feels like he's about to empty his stomach on the floor boards as soon as he's steady in his seat again. “Maybe fifteen,” he breaks out before managing to run into the bathroom and throwing the phone back to JJ. 

“He'll take twenty, looks pretty nasty. Sorry ‘bout that,” JJ tells you, and you nod patiently. 

“Okay, I'll just wait here. I'm sorry about the- Anyway,” you sigh. 

“So, is he, like, freaky? ‘Cause it's Pope and-” JJ starts, but you hit red faster than he can finish his sentence, not wanting to think about what you had done the night prior. 

It takes Pope thirty minutes to get ready and look at least somewhat respectable when he gets to you. He's wearing light gray jeans shorts and a dark green cut-off shirt, paired with some sunglasses. You can't believe that, even hungover, he looks hotter than you want to imagine at the moment. 

“Sorry, I got here as fast as I could manage,” he apologizes, and you nod, not knowing what exactly to say. 

“I'm ten bucks short, and she was already judging, so I didn't wanna ask to pay later and-” You stop when you feel his hand on your shoulder, but it's gone as quick as he placed it. 

“Sorry. It's okay, that's all I wanted to say. I'm gonna pay for it, was my fault after all,” Pope gives you a tight-lipped smile.

The pharmacy is cold compared to the heat outside, but the judgmental glare the lady behind the counter gives you is worse than the shudder that is going down your spine while standing right under the AC. She hands you the pill, explains the usage and Pope pays, refusing you to pitch in. It's almost like waking up from a fever dream when you walk back out. 

“That was horrible,” Pope sighs, heading for the small corner store. “Come on, you need something to drink.” 

“I think I'm better going home,” you mumble and something inside him clicks, how nervous you had been last night, much like him. 

“I wanted to talk a bit, make sure you're okay,” he says quietly, holding a hand out for you, and your heart makes the choice to take it before your mind can tell you otherwise. 

He takes you into the store, asking you all kinds of questions, like what your favorite snack is, and your favorite drink, and once you're done you have a bag full of stuff that you didn't even ask for. It feels like he is trying to make it up to you. 

So, when you sit down on an old pier, looking out onto the sea, you can only hope that this isn't just what he always does. 

“You know, you didn't have to do all this. I'm okay on my own,” you tell him and turn to look at him, but he's already looking at you. Admiring how pretty you look with the soft glow of the setting sun shining on your skin. 

Pope doesn't get confused often, but he does feel a sense of insecurity when it comes to how his body feels when looking at you. Sure, you have always been pretty, beautiful even, and he likes the jokes you make in class and how quick you are with your answers to difficult questions, but he has never paid as much attention to you as he does now. 

“Do I have something on my face?” you ask, and he shakes his head. 

“No, you're just really pretty,” he sighs contently, before realizing what he said and shaking his head as if to clear his mind. “I'm sorry, that wasn't-”

“Pope, it's okay,” you smile at him, taking his hand and drawing his eyes back to you. 

“I've never done this before,” he gulps. 

“Bought Plan B? Me neither,” you giggle, and he thinks it's his new favorite sound. 

“No, all of this. You're probably gonna think I'm fucking you over when I say this, but as embarrassing as it is to admit with the circumstances, this was my first time,” he speaks quietly and your eyes widen. 

“Your- I thought you and your friend-” your words get stuck in your throat. 

“No, she broke it off before anything could happen, and I'm glad she did.” He smiles, but it looks like he's still hurt by it. “You?”

“Not the first, but I don't have any more comparisons to make here,” you laugh because it feels like a sick joke. “At least your friend isn't as much of an ass like my ex.” 

“I'm sorry,” Pope says, and you feel like he truly does care. 

“It's okay,” you tell him and take the small package in your hands. The instructions the lady gave you are the same as on the manual inside. 

“Bottoms up?” you tell Pope and hold your soda out, making him clink his can against yours. The pill goes down smoothly, but you're unsure if it was even necessary. 

“You'd think there would be more foolproof ways to this than… all that,” you sigh and point at the world around you. 

“What do you mean?” Pope asks, taking another sip of his soda. 

“Even if you do everything right, life can still fuck you over. You can play by all the rules, be a perfect little angel to the world, and still lose.” 

“You mean, like chaos theory?” Pope ponders.

“Maybe. I'm not sure. It's just not fair and shit keeps happening and just for once I would like it to go not wrong,” you sigh exasperatedly. 

“Maybe it doesn't have to,” he mumbles, and a small smile creeps into his face. Pope is aware of the comedy of the situation, to suggest you start dating after hooking up is probably one of the craziest things he has ever done, right after drunkenly hooking up with you and not being able to remember it. Yet, you are his favorite lab partner, and he likes your brains and your smile and how you are really not shy when you know you're right. 

“What are you proposing?” you ask, and he beams at you. 

“Would you go out with me?” 

You nod, hesitantly at first, but with every move of your head you get more confident in your choice. “I'd love to.”

Honestly I was originally planning on having only 2 ocs specifically because I wanted one to kill the other in order to maintain the same group of survivors in the end lmao. I'm still trying to fully work out the setup and inevitable execution because the plot writing for dr2 is really tight and well progressed imo, so I feel like adding anything would weaken it-

BUT I'm also just having fun and being silly so I know it doesn't have to be perfect it just needs to let me have fun really lmao

I'll add a readmore but I'll ramble about each of them a little if anyone has any interest

First up is the first one I made, Haruka (forgive all of their basic bitch Japanese names, I can't do the fun wordplay to the level I wish) they're the ultimate ballerina, and by extension also nonbinary kind of feminine leaning androgynous but can be masc if needed because they can do any kind of role required of them for a performance

When they're tossed into the dr2 mix they'd probably be found being a third wheel to the dynamic duo that is Akane and Nekomaru, since they're also technically more athletic and would be stretching and practicing every day. I want to sit down sometime and draw them and Akane engaged in a flexibility battle and Kazuichi walking in on them and screeching because they look so creepy

Haruka is planned to be a murderer and I'll definitely get some drawings out once I flesh out my concepts for their execution more

Next up is Nao! She's the ultimate sharpshooter and yes that is a little vague but it's because this includes bows and such on top of typical guns. Hell, she probably even does well with throwing stuff if there's enough focus

With the dr2 cast she'd be mostly a friend to Ibuki and Kazuichi, their eccentricities are endearing to her, plus if either of them just want to ramble about something they're working on she's gonna listen for hours. Honestly they're such a movie night squad to me. Also post game I feel like she's like a girl in the same way I still see Kazuichi a guy, like in the vaguest terms cuz they're both just Themselves and are gonna have fun with it now since they're apart from society. Ibuki isn't included only since I feel like she'd struggle less, but this is the bi/pan gender fuckery trifecta of the group to me

Oh yeah and Haruka kills her. I've got the death already planned out and ideally I wanna do a cg style emulation for it but idk if I can swing it lmao I'm not very good at style emulation tbh

And last but not least is Tōru. I didn't plan on her existing so idk how I'm gonna get rid of her in time for the end hmm. But she's the ultimate tattoo artist and has the most fleshed out backstory of the three but it's embarrassing and I know it LMAO

Basic run down- and stick with me here- she lives with family that work under the Kuzuryu clan, so she's done a lot of sick yakuza tats, partially because of her skill and mostly because this shit is so good that her tattoos have like, an "aura" that influences the viewer a little. So these dudes have extra intimidating tattoo bullshit going on- BUT ANYWAYS so things start and she can recognize Fuyuhiko and Peko and knows what's up with them, but neither of them have officially met her so she's like "oh thank fuck they have no idea that I know who they are I'm gonna avoid these assholes like the PLAGUE"

But of course that won't hold forever but it just makes me laugh like chapter 3 Fuyuhiko trying desperately to be kinder to everyone like "yeah, maybe I'll see if you're good enough to tattoo me some day" and she's choking on her drink because Haha About That-

But yeah hopefully I can rope one of my friends into having their oc knock her off because I think that would be funny like, getting down on one knee please kill my oc tragically

TSATS SPOILERS

Okay, so I finished the book and I have a question: where tf is Apollo?????

I get that he couldn't go on a quest with them, he said so at the end of ToN but why doesn't he appear at camp at the end of the book? Or at least visit Will in a dream? Hades did that for Nico.

Also at the beginning it's said that Rachel spoke the same prophecy like 12 times. Apollo is literally the god of prophecies, why isn't he doing anything about it? (Unless Rachel first went to him and he told her to go with this to Nico and Will and asked her not to tell them that he sent her. Idk just an idea).

Personaly I don't have a problem with Will thinking that he might not see Apollo in years or even ever again, because well, it's not presented as fact, it's what Will thinks. And it fits with his fear of abandonment that we can see later in the book. If he has moments when he thinks that his boyfried could leave him behind in the Tartarus or the Underworld then I can easily belive that he thinks that his dad wouldn't bother with visits now when he's a god again.

But that's exacly why Apollo visiting at the end, to give Will comfort after a dengerous quest, would be perfect. It would prove that Will's assumptions were wrong. (I'm just gonna pretend that this is what happened the next day 🙃)

This book has a problem with mentioning important characters in general. Like where are Jerry, Gracie and Yan, you know, Will's new siblings? What was the point of introducing them if their existence is never acknowledged? Austin and Kayla are never mention during the quest itself, they just go home and Will and Nico never think or talk about them. And Hazel, the only alive sibling Nico has, is mationed like once I think???

So it's not that Apollo is the only victim of narration here, but he it the most noticible one because 1) he was a main character in the previous books. 2) he's name is constantly mantion in reference to Will: 'son of Apollo said this' 'son of Apollo did that' and so on. And maybe it's just me, but did anyone else noticed that Will is refered like this a bit too often? Like Nico is somtimes called "Son of Hades" by narration but not near as often as Will is called his father's son, especialy in the later in the story. Like at some point I had a feeling that the book was literally screaming at me "Hey remember Will's dad? This guy named Apollo? Yeah we know he's not in this book, but don't forget about him! He's still important we swear". Anyone else noticed this? Maybe I'm just being delusional but I swear they were doing this for a reason.

I don't know what are Rick's plan for the future, maybe there will be an explanation on why Apollo was so ignored by this book. Maybe he was super busy with something, or maybe he feard that if he intervenes he would bring Zeus' attention to Will and Nico and tbh we don't know how Zeus feels about quest to Tartarus, especialy if the said quest involves saving a titan (because let's be honest, Zeus probably dosen't like the idea of bringing a titan out of Tartarus).

Or maybe Apollo's planing a revolutuon to take his tyrannical father down, who knows.

I also think that he's not really used to big family reunions, I read a few comics but I didn't catch any hint of a big family tree, so maybe he'd be kinda disoriented if you have a really big family.

For all my northern lovelies (me included) he's gonna be surprised when he sees that we aren't the italian bubbly and cheerful stereotype, but kinda cold and grumpy.

Another thing for the northeners: he's gonna bitch abt the time we usually have lunch and dinner. Lunch at 12/13 and dinner at 19/20???? You must be joking (Yes, the average northener eats early, obviously it depends on the family. In my experience and the ones of my friends these are the usual eating times)

If you still go to school and (like me) go to school also on Saturday: he's shocked. That's it. Just shocked that you have only one day to rest. But this helps to remind him that taking breaks it's important, so you two hopefully spend some time relaxing together, taking a break from school and being spoderman/spiderwoman.

Again, for people who go to school: he listens to your meltdowns. Even if he's from the future and from another country he understands that the school system stopped evolution in the mid 20th century and it fucking sucks.

If you struggle with subjects like chemistry or science he's more than glad to help you

If you go to a liceo he kinda sees himself in you and your experience, so with lots of subject to study and standars super high

If you go to a professional/technical (idk how to translate themmmm) institute with subjects in the field of engineering and computers he's gonna help you if you need help, giving you some tips and extra informations so that you can be the best of your class.

Let's say that you live in Milan: there aren't a lot of skyscrapers, but there are still some buildings on which you can swing decently. Same thing goes for most of the big cities

Now let's say that you live in a small town, in the middle of the countryside, where the tallest building is the bell tower of the church: "how the fuck do you swing and jump and- do litterally all the spiderthings?" The Patience Soul

Hope (she/her)

She's the first of the human soul OCs I have, I've had her for years at this point. She's a sweet little girl who's happy to sit and wait when she's told to. She was blind, and her parents couldn't afford to care for her, so they had to give her up to the orphanage with the plan to earn enough money to be able to take care of her (sadly, that would never happen). Her ribbon was the last gift she got from her parents before they died tragically.

Now *initially* I didn't consider whether Hope would be a pre-undertale soul (before the game) or a post-undertale soul (after the game). Buuut I do have a basic idea of how she would've fallen underground if she was a pre-undertale soul.

See, not every human is a good person (there has to be a reason that Chara didn't like humanity, after all), and not every kid in the orphanage that Hope stayed was very nice to her. Some of those kids were cruel enough to bring Hope up the mountain and push her down.

The Justice Soul

Astrea (she/her)

She is the first Soul I made after Hope and was made very recently, much like the rest of the souls. I made her on whim, really, and the rest of the souls followed. Took some inspiration from Starlo with her poncho, and as a nod to Clover (and the omega flowey fight), I put a clover on her hat.

Something I did with Astrea and all the other souls is find names that mean whatever their soul trait is. "Astrea" comes from Astraea, the Greek goddess of justice. (It's also a spacey name, which gave me a good excuse to put stars on her poncho)

Clever, right?

Anyway, much like Clover in yellow, Astrea goes up the mountain in search of the humans that went missing before her.

The Perseverance Soul

Perry (he/they)

Perry is one of those bookworm types with a passion for writing and journalism. He carries a notebook everywhere he goes, so he's always able to write down his thoughts. (Kinda like me, except I carry paper around to draw with LOL)

Perry (at least of the site I initially found it) is a gender neutral name that's a "playful take on perseverance", but it also means traveller, pilgrim, or "one who dwells by the pear tree" which is neat too I guess.

Being a journalist in the making, Perry most likely went up the mountain to write a story about the monsters that live there, to get the truth about what they're really like.

The Bravery Soul

Casey (they/them)

Casey is one of those kids that will sock you in the nose if you do something to hurt their friends. The first thing they'll do is punch you. They aren't afraid of getting in trouble. (Ngl, they do seem to dance on the line between brave and reckless sometimes, at least in my mind... idk, still developing their character a bit)

Fun fact, when making Casey, I had *no idea* what wether I was gonna make them a boy or a girl, and in the end, I decided on neither.

Casey's name means watchful, vigilant, and brave.

They probably went up the mountain seeking adventure, not sure tbh. Casey and the next two souls are the ones I haven't fully figured out reasons for going up the mountain yet.

The Kindness Soul

Winnie (she/her)

Winnie is an absolute sweetheart, as you can imagine with her being the kindness soul. And, of course, she has a passion for cooking.

Winnie's name doesn't *directly* mean kindness. It means fair and pure (or that's just one meaning)

She probably went up the mountain to find some ingredients.

The Integrity Soul

Olive (They/Them)

I wanted to do something different with Olive because most of the versions of the integrity soul I've seen were all girls, so I decided to try and make a boy. But of course, I ended up changing them to look like they could be either gender (not that Olive would really mind if they're misgendered. I'm thinking they're more fluid than anything.)

Olive is one of those people who usually has their head in the clouds, if that's the right away of describing them. (They're sort of like a Luna lovegood type of character if that helps, but a little more chill?)

I actually chose the name "olive" because I kept seeing the name "oliver" and I thought I'd go for something more gender neutral.

Olive is (of course) a name derived from the olive tree, which "signals a time of integrity and peaceful power, when we are being asked to own the decisions we made"

Pretty cool.

I have no idea why Olive would go up the mountain.

Okay, so then, if these characters are the humans that fell before frisk, how would they lose their souls?

I will take a note out of UTY's book and say that, presuming they were all pasifistic, all of them gave up their souls willingly.

I think doing this would fit their soul traits, too.

Hope gives up her soul, knowing that she'll be helping to free the monsters with a little patience

Casey gives up their soul to help the monsters stay brave

Olive does it because they think it's the morally right thing to do, showing integrity

Perry does it to help the monsters perservere

And then when the souls are used to break the barrier, they return to their bodies, and they all live together with frisk.

"But how would that be possible?" I hear you asking, "How come their bodies are still healthy enough to return to?"

CANON BACKGROUND CHARACTERS: So here's everyone at the launch party for Encom 12:

Including Ed, Alan, Richard Mackey, and Claire, there are twenty people total. Thirteen others seated at the table, two assistants off to the side, and the guy way off to the side in the last screen capture with the champaign glasses that I assume is from some sort of catering service and may or may not actually be affiliated with Encom (Would Encom have their own catering for things like this? probably not but I also wouldn't be surprised if they did).

Richard Mackey: I keep forgetting that Mackey is charman of the board and not CEO. According to Next Day and the ARG, the CEO from the time of Flynn's disappearance to 2010 is Kurt Harding.

Claire Atkinson: Vice chair of the board, maybe? That's what we're going with. She's important enough to have a spot at the table, right next to Mackey. I thought she was Mackey's secretary, but. She's important enough to have a spot at the table. She's important to the Board of Directors.

Ernie:

Not much is known about him, but for the sake of RP, I'm going with his full name is Ernesto Sepulveda, and he's security staff who often works night shift. He may not be business or tech minded, but he's got sharp wits, a kind heart and a mean left hook. He takes his job seriously, and for that, Ed appreciates him.

Okay so this is the post about the Stardom stuff going on Right Now. I was gonna put my personal thoughts here too but lmao joke's on me even just this got long enough as well. Honestly I'm glad I waited to actually say anything because Rossy and Bushiroad both ended up talking about it pretty publicly so there's really not that much to speculate on any more. If you have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, here's the background post about the past few months/year in Stardom and my own personal thoughts about everything are here.

So, wow. I spent a lot of last year joking "Stardom fire your entire office 2k24", really was not expecting them to actually take me up on it! Bushiroad fire Kidani as well 2k24??? idk if they even can I think he might control too much of the company but I may as well keep swinging while I can

So yeah, apparently immediately after the Osaka PPV last Sunday, February 4th, Bushiroad fired Rossy. On a practical level this isn't really a big change - as I've said before, Rossy was off of booking and apparently not even being listened to since last April at least already, this isn't a huge shake up of Stardom management. What IS a huge shakeup is why.

Bushiroad said they fired Rossy because he was poaching wrestlers & staff from Stardom. Rossy denies this, but has confirmed he is starting a new promotion. Which, first and foremost from me, I'm glad we can immediately put the WWE rumours to bed. Rossy says he told Bushiroad in November that he would not re-sign his contract with them in March since he wasn't being listened to anyway and told the staff and some wrestlers this and that he was thinking of starting a new promotion. Bushiroad claims he was deliberately poaching from them. Honestly, given the state of Bushiroad management, I could absolutely see them just being completely caught off guard by how many of the roster want to leave and freaking out, but we'll probably never know the truth of the matter.

It is confirmed that some of the Stardom roster are not re-signing with Stardom and are planning to join Rossy's new promotion. Bushiroad came out and openly said that, including some top names and even current title holders. That a number of people will be leaving is for sure happening. We do know for sure Mayu is the only person definitely contracted to Bushiroad later than March, as the movie about her comes out in May, but it seems likely she leaves after that. EDIT to add that a couple days later Tam said openly that she is staying with Stardom as well but I'm not gonna keep updating this every time someone says something new. Anything beyond that about who exactly is leaving or how many is pure speculation. I've seen everything from only one or two people leaving to close to a 50/50 split to only one or two people staying. We'll know in a month or two.

I think it's also worth remembering while WON is writing about this however much and the dirtsheets run with things, their source is Literally Just Sonny, who we already know to be both unreliable and Rossy's biggest cheerleader. It doesn't even seem like the wrestlers actually talk to him about it or anything, he just Works There, and more than once he's passed on some story that's gotten out just to then pass on that so-and-so was so mad it got out, on top of the stuff he's just flat wrong about. It just seems like he has a deep need to be An Insider, the kind of guy who actually gets a job in wrestling and uses that for reddit clout, so keep in mind that that's where all of the english "scoops" are coming from. The news for the next however long it's coming solely from him is going to be sensationalized, decidedly anti-Bushiroad and pro-Rossy, and probably try and throw at least a few of the wrestlers who do stay with Stardom under the bus, because that's his MO and we've seen it all before from him. So like, just as usual take everything with the biggest grain of salt you can manage.

He stalks you obviously but you don't really give a shit you still keep up your facade but it's taking a straine on your health

So when he does talk to you face to face you give him the best smile you can muster

When he asks you the questions you answer honestly which inevitably makes him a little upset

So when you get off of work he follows you

Day after day you start to realize that it's literally only you and him

Soon your facade slips and eventually you show your true colors

I haven't really thought about trying anything new (I'm so stuck in my routine that changing it scares me) but I think I'm more interested in revisiting old hobbies, like going to the gym. I'd also love to train muay thai again, but I spent more time crying and being overwhelmed because I'm in a constant fight-or-flight mode (more of the running away in this case) and I clearly have some issues with physical touch (i.e. past trauma 🤡)

Uni is so fucking stressful, I keep questioning every damn day why I even decided to go back to studying lmao. But now that I'm half way through, I just gotta push through all the bullshit (tho I have no idea how I'll manage when it comes to my thesis... idek what I'm gonna write about and it's been stressing me out since day one). And my life would probably be the same really. No job, no idea what I want to do in life, rotting inside my room, too scared to do anything. Tho I keep thinking about moving back to England, which probably wouldn't change anything, but I feel like I left a piece of my soul there and maybe living in York would heal me, idk? At the very least, being able to eat Cooplands' chicken bakes (and Yorkshire pudding my beloved) whenever I want would definitely be a plus!

story behind url. It's taken from the bridge of Enhypen's Given-Taken. Most of you all probably probably already know, but I just love vampires and everything magical and supernatural and wonderful and terrifying. And it just made sense with the majority of the muses that I have for the url to be this.

recent read. I moved this here for last so you can skip reading me ramble if you want. (I tell you, it's long, don't say I didn't warn you)

There have been so many things I've read in the past few months for my classic literature discipline in uni, mainly classic Greek literature and theatre, we've only recently dived in early roman literature and works from the Western European Middle Ages, our professor is kicking our asses off, but honestly these are one of my favourite classes out of the whole semester. But anyway, I actually just now finished reading The Romance of Tristan and Iseult by Joseph Bedier. Not bad, I must say. It has never been really my cup of tea to read romance stories, but at least it was much more interesting to read that than to read The Golden Ass (that one wasn't bad either, if we overlook some parts of it, yeah, I admit, but it was so unnecessary long in my opinion, I was literally falling asleep while reading it). If I had to pick which of the works I've read so far is my favourite, I'd have to say I really liked the tragedy Medea by Euripides (our professor once told us a story how she watched it being played out for the only time at the theatre in the city that we call our cultural center and how suddenly it started to rain and there was a thunder during the monologue of Medea and how it felt like nature was out there for the heroine and as if it was listening to her and answering her word, and the actress just kept playing her role in the water and when she was done, the rain suddenly stopped as if on cue and the sky was suddenly as clear as day again, and damn, I wish I was there to see it myself, I don't even care if I got drenched, I got chills just listening to that story. That was basically a once in a lifetime experience. But ANYWAY! The story itself is great, I really loved it.) and I also liked the comedy Frogs by Aristophanes, despite the message that the author was trying to convey at that time period.

As for my free time, I'm still reading The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams and I'm pretty close to finishing the second book from the whole series (The Restaurant at The End of The Universe), probably in a week or two I'll start the third book Life, the Universe and Everything. And I really love it so far. There so many funny and straight up absurd moment in the story and I love the group of main characters in it. My heart goes out to the robot Marvin, idk if I will see you again in the following books, Marvin, but you're a big mood, I feel you.

As for my annual update on Webtoons I am reading! Right now I'm reading Everything Is Fine, Homesick, Never-Ending Darling, Omniscient Reader, My S-Class Hunter, ZOMGAN, There Are No Demons (the art style for this series is very uncanny valley but in a cool way, I love it), Nocturne, The Guy Upstairs, Lore Olympus and Zombie X Slasher (and interesting way to take the zombie genre and create a story, I must say, I don't think I've seen anyone do this before, I look forward to what the author can offer). And I recently finished Surivival Diary, Dark Moon: The Blood Altar, The Star Seekers, Crimson Heart and soon I'll be finishing Dark Moon: The Grey City Too.

And a webtoon I recently finished too was Survival Romance and I just gotta give a shoutout to it. That webtoon took me completely by surprise. It wasn't the cute art style that made it unique, there are many stories that look cute on the outside that hide something dark and sinister underneath (like Everything Is Fine, for example). I knew this webtoon is horror, so at first I expected maybe one of the characters would be a yandere or something like that and the MC would be trying to escape that. And yes, there is one side character that could be considered obsessive in a way in parts of the webtoon, but the story wasn't about that at all. The author just took the romance and horror genres and turned them on their heads. The whole story isn't all that much about romance at all, actually, it's about forming friendships and bonds with people and having the will to keep pushing forward despite all the struggles you might be going through. The plot twists were SO GOOD, even though some could have been quite easy to predict. I also loved that the author put some meta and breaking the forth wall moments (Doki Doki Literature Club style is the closest association I could think of for this webtoon, kind of) and by the end all the characters [REDACTED, NO SPOILERS, GO READ IT YOURSELF IF YOU'RE CURIOUS]. The message is also very nice, the closing words in the epilogue honestly hit quite close to home and made me bawl my eyes out. The story also has zombies in a quite a unique way in my opinion. So if like dark stories with twists and turns and a meaningful message, and if in any way I piqued you're interest, go and check it out. I'm sure you won't be left disappointed. I could honestly write way more about this webtoon, but I already wrote a lot, so I'm gonna stop here.

I love that you added a stalker in the story line, idk why I love stories with stalkers in them. Yeah the stalker was an element that I've never included into one of my stories before so I'm really glad you like it so far! Yeah I think liking thrillers is definetly one of the reasons haha

I was talking to a few of my friends about the order I'm gonna go in and I'm like 'Why not just post it?' so I did! I think it'll help me stay on track and keep things more organized instead of bouncing back and forth between stories and leaving some behind. (Sorry Semantic Error and Falling 😅)

But yeah hopefully this'll help me in terms of finishing up some of the series I have going on since I have so many and only 1 out of the 9 is finished 😅 (Do it for Him)

Seven Days to Fall Again is the next on the list in terms of being completed and then I believe The Art of Etiquette will be soon after that if I play my cards right 😅

I can't wait until I can finally say The End on these stories because although I love all of them I've stretched myself so thin and I want to be able to focus on one at a time in the future. I just get so excited when I get new ideas that I want to write and post them right away 😅
