Every morning, before going to your clinic in Weissgerberviertel, you went to the building in the heart of Vienna, entered the flat number and waited for your entry to be authorized. After going up in the elevator and being greeted with a smile by the nurse who was there, you walked down the hallway to the white door and knocked softly, receiving authorization to enter.

Sitting on the bed, his patient looked at the window next to him in silence.

— Good morning, Mr. Wolff.

Slowly turning her head towards him, he limited himself to a millimetric nod.

— Good morning.

— How are you today? — you asked, approaching the bed where he was sitting in a rigid, almost robotic posture.

— Same as yesterday — he murmured.

— Feeling shitty? — you said, sitting on the edge of the bed. Your question caused a small smile to escape his lips.

— Yes, shitty.

— I can imagine — you smiled back, pleasantly.

His case was not one of the most common ones you had ever seen. Mr. Wolff had suffered a serious accident in Germany, more specifically on a racing circuit, a few weeks ago. From what you had gathered from the scant details he had offered you, he was trying to set a record when his tire blew and he crashed into the barriers.

The result of that adventure, which he classified as “suicidal”, was a concussion and broken vertebrae that would require long months of rehabilitation and physical therapy.

— Still not tasting anything?

— Not even the smell — your patient replied, with a frustrated expression on his face — Severed nerves, from what the doctor said. I'll need to wait for them to reconnect.

— I'm sorry, Mr. Wolff — you said, trying to show some empathy.

However, the man limited himself to a small smile.

— I told you not to call me Mr. Wolff — he said — I'm not like the old people you treat.

— But you are grumpy like them — you replied in a good-humoured way, making him laugh — Now let's get to the business, Toto.

After positioning a chair next to the bed, you requested the nurse's help to take your patient to her. The process was complicated, after all, he was not a small or light man, but, after some maneuvers and hisses of pain, you finally managed to get him to sit in front of you.

— Let's start with spinal rotation, okay? — you said, earning a nod from Toto — Feet on the ground, arms crossed over your chest, let's go.

The exercise was simple in theory, but for a person with severe vertebrae fractures, it was extremely painful. Not even his help so that the rotations were made slowly, in an attempt to reduce the discomfort, as well as the dizziness he felt when moving, was enough to stop him from grunting in pain every time he turned his torso.

— Fuck — Toto hissed as you slowly counted the rotations until they reached number ten. When the number left his lips, he exhaled heavily.

— All good?

— Yeah.

— How is the pain? — you asked, eyes going to his feet to make sure he hadn't left the position you had placed him in before.

— Considerable — he replied, without looking at you.

— Less than yesterday?

— Same — Toto grumbled — Fuck that Porsche...

You pressed your lips together thoughtfully. It wasn't your place to judge your patients' choices, no matter how much it took them to have to hire you to get back to something close to a normal life. However, given everything you knew about the accident, you couldn't resist making a comment.

— Maybe the problem wasn't the car, Toto.

Toto looked up at you, serious.

— No?

— You yourself said it was a suicide mission and went ahead with it anyway.

— It wasn't me who said it, but Niki...

— Lauda? — you asked incredulously — The guy who almost burned to death after suffering a racing accident?

— Himself. On the same track.

Shaking your head, you were really sure that you were facing a complete madman. No one in their right mind would do that to themselves, especially knowing the consequences, the worst of which was death.

— And even though he said he was suicidal, you did it?

— Yes — Toto replied.

— Why? — you asked softly.

He let out a sigh.

— I've always liked the Nordschleife, Y/N. It was the first track I discovered and I could never stop feeling attracted to it — Toto explained, with a little smile — I remember one time I rented an Opel Calibra and did 50 laps on the open day for tourists. I felt like I had found my place there, even though the guys at the rental office hated me for returning the car with bald tires.

You giggled, imagining the employees' incredulous expressions upon receiving the car used by Toto.

— You know, Y/N — he continued — I dare say I love that place. I love the stories, I love the curves, I love the adrenaline. Nordschleife makes me feel alive, happy. And I love it.

You had a friendly smile on your face, almost as if you understood his love for the place. However, a rational part of your head made you remember the reason why you were there, in front of Toto.

— And you love this place even though you know it almost took your life?

He stared at you for long seconds, as if absorbing his words.

— Well — Toto stammered.

— I don't judge you for having passions, after all, we all have ours. But, your passion for that place led you to do something completely irresponsible, not to say selfish.

— Selfish?

— I doubt you thought about them — you said, pointing to the picture frame on the bedside table. In the image, the boy and girl were smiling widely as they hugged Toto.

When he realized what you were pointing at, he pursed his lips thoughtfully. He definitely hadn't stopped to reflect on that. And, considering how long he would still need to remain at rest, he could think about it a lot.

— Well, shall we continue? — you asked.

With a nod, Toto placed his hands on his chest again, without saying a word for the rest of the session.

Do we really think Buck went straight to Tommy after leaving Eddie’s house after their talk about Kim? Like, this man is WORRIED about his best friend, and we think he really skipped to the dude he’s been on a few almost-dates with and couldn’t WAIT to gossip about it?

Like, first of all, that’s definitely not Buck’s story to tell. Even if it was, that’s a long ass history to share for any of it to make sense?? & sure, maybe Tommy is a mutual friend, but he’s a NEW mutual friend. If Buck’s worried about Eddie, there are several other people he could call if he thought outside help was needed, including Bobby, who he has called for Eddie before, (& even then! He didn’t give Bobby the full story bc it’s not his place). This all took place before everything with the house happened, so I’m fully convinced that he would have called Bobby for help before we went gossiping to his new boy toy about it.

And even if it Buck & Tommy are to the place of “pillow talk” (which idk, Buck moves fast, but this is a whole new ballgame, so who knows), this REALLY doesn’t seem like the kind of thing you mention to someone who you haven’t even called your boyfriend yet.

I’m trying to keep my Tommy opinions to myself bc I really don’t want to get into a whole ass argument online, but this is making it seem like Tommy is anywhere near the level of friendship that Buck & Eddie & the 118 have together, & it also paints Buck as a shitty friend, and while he can be a bit self-centered at times (bc of the trauma) I don’t think he’s this type of shitty friend.

Eddie is so closed off, & plays so much close to the chest, even now. If Buck went blabbing about something that Eddie himself is also worried about, I think that would break some of the trust between them.

Maybe that’s the point, maybe they’re trying to show Buck rushing into yet another relationship & not considering the consequences & Eddie finds out and that’s why they’re not as close going into next season, but idk. I feel like that would have to be a deliberate choice on the writers side bc it doesn’t feel in character for Buck at this point.

honestly speaking this season was alright. it def did not compare to season one, which i was expecting. yet it wasn’t up to par with it either. it felt like too much and not enough at the same time so it kinda fell flat to me

in season one everything was connected and there were very clear motives. from the bullying, so mun’s parents, the evil spirits, ji chung shin himself, and the corrupt government. and chung shin’s backstory made me feel for him which is what made him a great antagonist imo. like i loved him

but hwang pil gwang (slick back), gelly (hongjoong variant LMFAOO), and wong (just wong tbh)….mmph

i can’t really remember the beginning it took me 2 months to finish it but, dude and his crew showed up outta nowhere and just started creating chaos for funsies???? now don’t get me wrong, i’m all for villainy for fun but i just couldn’t get into for some reason with them. it just feels like their characters weren’t fleshed out enough for me to actually like them no matter how fine they are bc the whole crew could get it

and then we move to ma ju seok my adoring and loving husband. now this was something i could get behind. him going on a rampage trying to get revenge for his wife and baby, having enough rage to summon an evil spirit on his own??? like that’s what i’m talking about!!! i felt for him and wanted him to succeed bc that con man was also annoying as shit. i really and truly wanted him dead bc he was the absolute worst jfc

if the story only focused on him, and getting his revenge and having to take him down. and only him. seeing how far his rage could take him and what would happen ON HIS OWN without any outside manipulation pil hwang *coughs* would have been a lil more interesting to me and i think i would have enjoyed it more. ik pil gwang wanted his power n shit BUT WHY. like give me a reason.

TO ME hwang pil gwang and his crew added absolutely nothing to this for me. and gelly betraying slick back and all that other stuff just felt unnecessary to me. gelly not being able to do anything and literally almost every single time the crew showed up, and bc pil gwang wouldn’t help her. THAT MF RANGE IS INSANE!! but, but, jeok bong could have been more. i love him to death but he stayed the same person the entire time. granted towards the end he did start meshing with the group a bit better and throwing ideas out and stuff but i dunno bruh. i was feeling him and not feeling him at the same time.

the same goes for kang ki young. baby if you say that was myung seok from attorney woo i would have passed out pt2. like he did his thang bc i deadass hated his character even tho he was looking good as hell

the lack of so mun’s friends also bummed me out bc i really like them and they are an important part of his life. wanted to see more of those three together as well. my found family was not found with them this season

but the counters dynamic was still a++ like that’s real family. teasing ha na and do hwi, ha na having to save so mun while he was in a coma, then going to yung to ask why so mun leaving, jeok bong calling mun his brother just *wipes tear* magnificent

and why tf did mun have to lose his powers again. we did that shit in season one there was no need for that tbh

Kimetsu no Yaiba Youtuber Au

{Well Not Really..?}

In this Au only a handful of the Kamaboko squad are influencers. Those being Zenitsu, Genya, Muichiro, Yuichiro, and Senjuro.

So like I’m not really sure what to call this au? Like I’m calling it a Youtuber Au/Influencer Au because idk what else to call it. 

Like these five kind of have a double life sorta thing going for them???

The 5 know of each other's channels but they didn't know since the beginning. They all gradually found out about the other's channel and just simultaneously agreed to keep their mouth shut.

They are all anonymous on their channels except for Senjuro. He thinks he's not famous material so he doesn't realize his rising fame until Genya points it out. (I'll touch up on this later.)

Do the other Kamaboko squad members know?: Well yes/no? Inosuke knows since he's Zenitsu's cameraman.

Why hasn't anyone found out/how tf has Inosuke not blabbed?: Well everyone is committing a miraculous ladybug. No one recognizes their friend's/family's voices. As for Inosuke... let's just say Zenitsu has put the fear of the mountain god into him.

Each character’s channel’s:

Zenitsu - Zenitsu doesn’t have a youtube channel instead he has a TicTak account. He makes comedy/parody videos. He enjoys making people laugh and thought it was a good way to express himself. Inosuke is his cameraman. Honestly, neither of them know how Inosuke got there nor how he became in charge of the camera. He has a following of 270,856.

Surprisingly, Inosuke is good with technology though if he were asked how it worked he couldn’t tell you.

Genya - Genya has a U-Tuber account. I don’t have much to say about his channel because I really can’t decide what he does. He does however occasionally collab with Senjuro to play video games.

Muichiro + Yuichiro - They have a True Crime podcast and are quite known in the community. They start to become popular after helping solve a closed case with their findings. No one knows what they look like and they very much want to keep it that way.

Muichiro was the one that suggested they create the podcast. Yuichiro only agreed to make his twin happy and because he was bored. They borrow Inosuke from Zenitsu to help man the podcast. In exchange they sometimes collab with Zenitsu. (Don’t ask how that works it just…does)

Senjuro - Senjuro is someone you think would be cautious about his image on the platform. Nah he’s not anonymous like the others and just views his channel as a hobby of his. He’s not scared of his family finding his channel since they don’t especially care much for social media. (Or so he thinks.) In the beginning he used his channel as a sort of stress relief. Since he would normally be a nice and timid child at school he goes all out in his videos. This kid rages hard.

Like markiplier levels of rage quitting.

His mom definitely knows about his channel. His father and older brother don’t though. (Mostly because neither know how to work technology, like at all.) (No wonder Rengoku is a history teacher, that mans historic-)

I’ll do my best to cover all of these!! I never get to blab about the boy with a heart full of magic!!!

Barely spoilers for the chapter 9 of EWILY under the cut, and a couple of other small details I do include in the fic but aren’t really super plot relevant.

👻 - A silly one to start with, but I think he’s a little bit afraid of the dark. I’m gonna probably say this a lot, but after some of the shit that’s happened to him in the context of canon, he gets really uncomfortable being left completely alone in pitch darkness. Oh! And of course he’s always afraid of doing something wrong and getting grounded!

💝- Words of affirmation. I won’t go into any greater detail, but it will all make sense soon enough ehehehe

💔- I personally think Butters struggles a lot with the fact that he doesn’t quite fit in with the other boys. They’re all pretty abrasive towards him still, and he’s really not cool enough to fit in with most of them. He doesn’t show it, but his insistence on still ‘playing superheroes’ with Kenny is kind of a greater symptom of this insecurity. I imagine he was very excited to be included when Stan got Crimson Dawn back together as they got older, probably late middle school or so.

👗- Wears whatever his mom picks out for him, which is why he’s such an über dork. Lots of lumpy sweaters with dress slacks and straight leg jeans that are all a little too short on his long ass legs, meaning his socks are always showing so they have to coordinate with his outfit, too. And of course, he owns an impressive collection of button up shirts and sweater vests.

🔪- Butters is not a fighter, but he’s certainly had lots of violence enacted on him. Bullied pretty bad as a kid, on top of (tw for child abuse) his father’s liberal use of physical punishments. These are all pretty much canon though, so suffice to say I personally think Butters CAN fight if he needs to, he just generally chooses not to. (This is where the Professor Chaos headcanons come in hehe)

🌟- He wants to be happy, above all else. It doesn’t really matter what it is that will get him there, he just wants to experience the joys of living without worrying about the consequences for once in his silly little life. Aah, now I’ve gone and made myself sad!

🥇- Canonically Butters is good at a ton of stuff! He’s such a highly creative person with a massive imagination, and though The Poop That Took a Pee is a horrible example, I think he’d actually be a really good fiction writer! Hm, maybe that’s something I should explore more.

🎭 - Everything, all the time. Naw, I’m being hyperbolic, though he definitely tells white lies to his parents to avoid getting in trouble. I think he’s also very dishonest when things upset him, at least when people like Stan, Kyle or Cartman hurt his feelings. He knows better than to show weakness around those assholes! (Sometimes RIP)

🖕- I actually think Butters’ anger is under appreciated! He’s an angry little guy when he wants to be, and while I think he’s quick to anger when something finally does irritate him enough, he’s also very quick to cool back down. He doesn’t really hold grudges, though he makes a few exceptions.

😬 - AHAHAAHAH!!! Where do I even begin?? Butters does worse things in canon than pretty much anything I’ll ever have him do, though I would argue that inadvertently inspiring his entire class to wage a war over him wasn’t, uh, great. Oh, and shooting that guy in the dick, I guess.

😭 - Again, where do I begin?? I think the trauma he’s experienced in canon sort of speaks for itself, though I also think that though maybe he didn’t get anything quite as bad in the Asteria-verse, the bullying he withstood affected him more than he would be willing to admit. Poor child, can someone please get him a therapist?

😶 - Butters’ eternal sunshine, happy boy disposition is at least partially a front. While he’s naturally an optimist person, and does generally see the good in everyone around him, but he’s not a complete idiot. He acknowledges, again, that he’s not fully accepted by his peers, but chooses to disregard a lot of the things they do to isolate him. As a little boy it was a more honest representation of who he was, but as he’s gotten older (and more hormonal oof) he’s latched onto it as a means of protection, so to speak. hii nonnie (good morning if it is also morning where you are)!! what I like about skip and loafer is the emphasis it places on platonic love and on the kinds of love that aren’t necessarily romantic. there’s a lot of emphasis on self love and self worth and recognizing yourself as someone worthy of proper love (mitsumi is an especially good example of this, especially with her relationship with shima and particularly when she breaks it off but expresses just how much he matters to her despite that). idk it’s just a good story about understanding that wanting vs being ready are two very different concepts and that one does not always correlate with the other.

I like that it does such justice to it’s character and their internal battles as well. egashira is a particularly interesting character and thought I don’t agree with the philosophy behind her “I got pretty sentiment”, it is something common among young women and that thought process is actually worked back as her relationship to Mitsumi and the other girls progresses. it’s just… I’m very fond of it. there’s so much more that I like about it, but this is what comes off the top of my head.

I just rly love coming of age stories and skip and loafer does that really really well, especially because romance exists in it, but it doesn’t feel like the core message (instead, friendship does).

Life Update June 2023

Okay, so I don’t typically do these really anymore; but so much stuff has happened recently that I feel like I kinda owe an explanation as to why I haven’t posted stuff I said I was gonna post; etc…

Firstly, I have gained a new hyper-fixation with the Murder Drones series on YouTube, to the point I have just spent an actual lump sum of money on merch; which is something I haven’t done since I was like 12ish… The show is a phenomenal work of art and it deserves more notice. I legit thought I wasn’t gonna like it at all, due to the anime chibi looking characters making me believe it would be garbage knock-off cheap anime bs, but it showed up in my recommends and I haven’t been able to stop watching it since.

I won’t keep gushing about that, as this is an update post, not a review posting lol, but I also have written an entire pmv script for this show and idk I’m in too deep now…

I have also had an infestation of field mice inside my home this month, which my dogs helped to uh… remove from the house. So that’s been a thing.

I’ve also been playing Pokémon Infinite Fusion, and kinda ended up making a too OP fusion of Charizard and Raichu, with a Blaze ability. Who would’ve thought having both immunity to burns and paralysis would work out so well? 10/10 Giovanni didn’t expect me to utterly destroy his legendary triple fusion with that combo lmao.

The Unicorn Warriors Eternal 2nd review will be coming out as soon as I can retrieve some decent footage/images of episodes 5-7. It’s not got as big of a dedicated fandom to it, so it’s harder to track down images of it. :/

I will briefly talk about my opinion of episodes 5 & 6, as I want to clarify that the plot does actually pick up the pace some in these episodes, but it’s still janky with the timing until the last five minutes of episode 6.

I could actually make out some of Tarkovsky’s handiwork in episode 6, but both episodes felt like each scene was created from a different time and art studio. Again, the cgi scenes don’t really blend/mesh well with the 2d drawn art; which I will do my best to breakdown in the actual review.

I did however figure out the main problem I’m having with the show overall. First and foremost; the dialogue. It doesn’t fit Tarkovsky’s usual signature, and feels wildly out of place with the serious plot/nature of events occurring in the show.

I’m not saying that no dialogue is better than a ton of dialogue at all; my point here is that the tone and rhythm of everyone’s speech is not matching the vibe of the scenes/plot/show and is 100% not what anyone from the early 1900’s Britain would sound or behave like. (Also still some weird British stereotypes going on that feel wildly out of left field.)

My second problem is the Popeye art style. This is not me just nitpicking here, again, it is so wildly out of place with the serious nature and tone of the show that it actually interferes with the style/flow of the show. I took a lot of issue with the young children in episode 5; they were drawn with massive muscles on dainty little girls, they looked like a mix between a dwarf and a shrunken Popeye. It was a bizzare image.

Anyways, I don’t have much more time to blab at the moment. I just wanted to stop by and give an update. I’ll eventually get around to more stuff soon. :3

Idk why I to this to myself (and you, I'm sorry!) But I just thought of 2 scenarios. One is for is it a crime? Based on the previous ask about it, can you imagine reader and Bucky are in a relationship again and have been for some time now, Bucky is all excited because he wants to propose to her/or maybe they're engaged and he's excited because they're planning the wedding and it's so soon! And she still has that dickhead abusive ex who Bucky saved her from, but he comes and finds her and kills her. Jake finds out and he immediately finds Bucky to tell him, but because Bucky is so excited about the wedding/engagement he doesn't realise how distraught Jake looks and he's blabbing on about how much he loves reader etc etc and Jake is like "Bucky... Bucky... BUCKY" trying to get his attention and then he tells him she's gone 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Second scenario is for the love we gave away. Ransom and reader are with the twins and Ransom mentions something about reader to them and says "your mum" like in the story, Theodore is like "she's not my mum" Ransom is annoyed and reader is upset. Fast forward and it's just Ransom and Theodore are alone and Ransom brings it up to him and he's just like "SHES NOT MY MUM AND SHE NEVER WILL BE SHE LOST THAT RIGHT WHEN THE BITCH GAVE US UP" or something 🥺 I'm not saying he would ever say that ofcourse, just a scenario ❤️

Is it a crime?

Jake had walked into Bucky’s office. The joyful conversation a contrast to the news he had to share. He still had blood soaking his once vibrant graphic tee, one you had given him as a gift.

“Bucky.” Jake called out, his eyes unfocused on the man in front of him.

“Oh hey Jake, I’m glad you’re here.” Bucky says without looking away from his laptop. “I need your opinion. I’m thinking of getting Y/N a cabin as a wedding gift”

“Bucky.”

“But I wasn’t sure if I should get one upstate or a different state altogether.”

“BUCKY.” Jake yells this time and Bucky’s head snaps up to meet his eyes.

“Oh fuck, Jake what happened? Are you ok? Do you need a doctor?” Bucky stood up quickly with the intention of helping Jake to a seat but Jake just grabbed Bucky’s forearm.

“I’m so sorry. I-I uh it-it’s…” Jake struggles to find his words.

Bucky pulls out his phone to call you but it just rings than goes to voicemail. He tries this a couple of time while keeping his eyes on Jake who has a far off look in his eye.

“He came back.” Jake’s voice broke as he said it. “He came out of nowhere and now she’s-“

A pit formed in Bucky stomach. His hands started shaking as he walked back to stand in front of your childhood best friend l.

“I was right there and I couldn’t protect her. I’m so sorry.” Jake cried. The image of you taking your last breath in his arms played over and over again.

“No no no no. Please tell me this is some cruel joke. Please…”

Steve bursts in through the door, his eyes red and cheeks tear stained. Their eyes met and Bucky knew for sure you were gone. Bucky felt his knees go weak and he fell to the floor as he cried for you. For the future that was ripped away from both of you not one but twice. It was a while before any of them spoke up.

“We found him.” Is all Steve said before Bucky stood and grabbed his gun.

He only had one thing in his mind and that was making Justin Hammer suffer for taking you from him.

The love we gave away.

The four of you had been sitting in your living room. Annie would be working late and the twins had wanted to hang out. You and Ransom were currently telling them a story from high school.

“Oh man, I remember the dress your mom made for herself for homecoming. She looked amazing in it.”

“She’s not our mom.” Theodore mutters with an eye roll.

Ransom scoffs but he can see your smile falter at the comment. Abigail had elbowed her brother and muttered something about being rude but he just shrugged. There’s an awkward tense filled silence until you excuse yourself. Abigail is quick to follow you while Ransom makes himself a drink.

“Why do you have to do that?”

“Do what?”

“Say that she isn’t your mom. You could just let the comment slide, she did give birth to you.” Ransom says as he turns to look at Theodore.

“Because I have a mom and she isn’t it.” Theodore gets up and starts walking past Ransom but Ransom stops him.

“What is your issue. Like it or not Y/N is and will always be your mother so how about you show her some damn respect.”

“SHE’ NOT MY MOTHER AND SHE NEVER WILL BE.” Theodore gets in Ransom’s face as he continues to shout. “SHE GAVE THAT RIGHT UP WHEN SHE GAVE US UP.”

Ransom grabbed Theodore by his shirt and pushed him against the wall. Rage coursed through his veins as he looked at his son.

“Don’t you ever fucking talk about your mother like that agin you hear me. You don’t know the heartbreak we went through when we had to give you up.”

“Yeah, well maybe if you would have been smart enough to use protection it wouldn’t have been an issue.” Theodore snaps back.

“Oh my god! What the hell is going on here? Ransom let him go.” You ran towards them and pulled Ransom off.

“Even after your disrespect she still protects you and you still want to be a whiny little shit.” Ransom scoffs.

“One you won’t ever have to worry about again. Get your things Abigail we’re leaving.”

Theodore glared at Ransom until they disappeared around the corner. A few seconds later the front door slams closed. With tears in your eyes you turn to look at Ransom.

“What the fuck was that about?” You demand an answer.

“I don’t like the way he was treating you. He acts as if we sold them to the worst people to ever exist.”

“And your solution was to slam him against the wall?”

“I was defending you.”

“I didn’t ask you too. I would have handled it.”

“The same way you handled every time your dad beat you.” He sneered but his face dropped the minute the words left his mouth. “Thimble I-“

“Get out.”

“Baby please, I’m sorry.”

“I said get out. You better hope they want to see us again because of not this is over.” You motion between the two of you.

Ransom doesn’t say a word he just grabs his jacket and walks out. The door slamming shut for the second time. You sit on the couch and cry yourself to sleep.

3 and 23 go hand in hand. I would say my writing is very descriptive stream of consciousness, and I use overdescriptiveness to establish atmosphere. Amateur writing is so interesting! I’m not even an experienced amateur writer (I know it seem like an oxymoron but you know what I mean – we forget some amateur writers are amateurs because of their unique ability to either mimic or inherently know how to use professional writing conventions), so I struggle with some of that concise storytelling some people are able to achieve.

Ironically, even though I blab endlessly, I find writing descriptions of scenes very difficult. Sometimes I’ll go back to re-read and it’s just endless action sentences “and then she touched his hand; and then he looked at her…” and I just cringe. Idk why it’s so hard! I’ve been reading others’ works with much more attentiveness to how exactly they structure their descriptions to see if I can pick up technique. It’s just incredibly difficult to convey what I picture visually, in phrases that don’t sound like a step-by-step report of character robot actions.

Dialogue, on the other hand, is often much easier. Especially if I feel like I really really understand the characters I’m writing, (let’s get real though, who am I writing besides Beth and Rio? Lmao!), dialogue is such an easy way to establish everything without having to create atmosphere through description. Just a couple of well-placed words out of a character’s mouth can say so much. Particularly in fic, which benefits from already having all the world and character-building completed in canon, and the reader already having a frame of reference for who these characters are and how they normally use language.

So for 33, I will compliment my written dialogue. I feel like I mostly get that the way I want it to sound, and that the readers tend to experience my written conversations among characters the way I intend. (Man, this part is hard to do! Does self-complimenting ever not sound like arrogance?)

Mint and Zakuro getting the interactions they DESERVE

Finally got a chance to watch episodes like 4-6 and now I’m gonna blab my random thoughts this’ll probably be all over the place xoxoxoxo

I freakin LOVE the changes they made to Zakuro’s joining! In the original Mint came off as like, REALLY clingy and overfamiliar with Zakuro kinda. Which like, when you’re a tween/teen meeting your idol in the middle of an intergalactic war or w/e, I don’t blame her, but I definitely love how they updated things.

YES Mint still initially tries to be like “whoa wHAT naw u gotta join! You’re the best you gotta!” because like, of course, obviously! But after Zakuro just absolutely dunks on her, she seems to rethink things, and she backs off. Of COURSE she still *wants* Zakuro on their team, but she sees that’s not what Zakuro wants and tells her that she only needs to keep being herself. I LOVED that!

In the original Mint just like, starts sobbing and throws herself at Zakuro and like, if I was Zakuro I’d’ve shoved her tf off me too XD This Mint, while still initially starstruck, very clearly backs off to treat Zakuro less like her idol and more like a real person with her own wishes - wishes that might not line up with Mint’s.

And Zakuro seems to resonate with that! Not only does it seem like it bothers her that Mint seemed to just change her mind all of a sudden, but she even asks Ichigo why she joined the Mews. Now she’s letting herself think of the possibility, and I feel it’s because Mint quickly stopped pushing, as well as told the rest of the girls to not push either. Zakuro seems like a bit of a stubborn kind of person. If a bunch of people start pushing at her to do something all of a sudden (especially if they don’t seem to be giving an option to say “no”) she’s gonna start digging her heels in. Hell I’D start digging my heels in.

And what I love most I think is that Mint is the one in the spotlight for recruiting Zakuro, rather than Ichigo like in the original, and it seems like this time Mint was the one that inspired Zakuro. We see Mint pine after Zakuro all throughout the old anime and strive to be like her, even lose confidence in herself at least once and it takes Zakuro beating the shit outta her to snap her back into it. But this new Mint seems to be filled with a lot more, idk, conviction? Yes of course she’s crushed that Zakuro denies joining (and also insults Mint lmao) but after she lets herself process those emotions (and be comforted by and open up to the rest of the Mews), she stands up straight, grits her teeth, and strengthens her resolve. And that resolve stabs Zakuro right in the dokidokigaygayhomosexualgay heart because that’s the kind of determination she’s looking for in herself

And in the battle she tells Zakuro how inspiring she and everyone else find her and how it’s given her strength. She tells Zakuro that she can walk her own path, just continue to be who she is, because who she is inspires so many people. Mint and the Mews will do what they have to do and Zakuro will do what she has to do

And it looks like something about that really clicked for Zakuro. I wonder if she’s super used to people telling her she has to do better, be better, or be someone different, fill the role she’s meant to fill. Being an idol probably means having to present as constantly perfect and always getting better, it might be a not-miniscule chunk of why she’s so hard on herself. Why she insists she has to do things alone. So someone telling her both that she’s inspiring and to walk her own path probably drew her in in a way she doesn’t even know yet.

And a another notes that didn’t fit anywhere in the middle of all that above ranting: I love how the girls all cheered up Mint for the sleepover. Ichigo displayed some great emotional intelligence in cheering Mint up. Both Ichigo and Mint can be short tempered and they really seem to be leaning into that for the reboot (their bickering has been so much fun so far). I loved that Ichigo took note of Mint getting riled up over the way her brother was babying her (also I love that Mint and her brother actually have a positive relationship for this one!) and purposely stoked that flame to bring her out of her funk. (Though looking back just now, that whole thing was in the manga already! Though I’ve read the manga, I’m much more partial to the anime, simply cuz it was my first exposure to TMM, so my memory for the series is defenitely a LOT stronger for the anime lol)

Basically what I’m trying to say is, for TMMN it seems like Zakuro and Mint are mutually inspiring to each other. Mint may have been looking up to Zakuro long before they met, but she definitely left a big impression on Zakuro as well. I hope we’ll be able to see a lot more of their dynamic going forward. And I hope we’ll see more of Zakuro going forward! She was definitely the Mew I felt we got to know the least in the original, I’ll be stoked if they flesh more of her out going forward!

(Side note, Pudding was absolutely about to send Mint to the hospital if she hadn’t dodged in time and I VIBE with that energy this is why she’s my favorite XD)

I loved that we got to see Mint really let down her walls this episode. Not only did she tell the girls about her family in general, but told them about her own wants for the future as well. In the manga it looks like she got embarassed when the Mews told her they wanted to cheer her up and shuffled off, but here she opened up and I love that. I love that she elaborates exactly why she looks up to Zakuro, and it ties into her own feelings about herself as well. That’s awesome!

Idk, I’m just enjoying the series so much, and all the extra little insights were getting for all the characters! I’m gonna flip my SHIT when Pie and Tart show up, then we’ll really have the whole band back together!

Miranda didn’t attend these recent events “because of Covid” doesn’t necessarily mean that she “has Covid.” If she’s just traveled internationally to start filming, she may just be taking precautions and quarantining. It seems like the fandom is so starved for news that they’re running with every shred of unsubstantiated gossip. And Miranda DMing fans? Seems a bit hard to believe. If she is actually communicating that way, it’s incredibly shitty of the recipient(s) to blab about it.

I can see how I might’ve misinterpreted “because of Covid” to mean “has Covid,” but to that point, when responding to the very first anon I got on this subject, my first reaction was to deny the fact that she could have Covid again so soon after getting it in April, because there’s usually a 90 day grace period where reinfection is incredibly unlikely, but others have since insisted that it’s true that she has it again, because people attending those events said as much, so… idk, man, I’m just trying to figure it out as I go with the information available to me, which is admittedly not much, and absolutely not “reliable” in the sense that these are anonymous people sending me messages, but the last time I refused to believe anons, it turned out they were telling the truth about Miranda having Covid, so… yeah.

At the end of the day, it’s none of our business why Miranda decided not to attend the events in question. I find it odd that people would assume it’s related to Covid and not just… you know…a decision Miranda made. People are allowed to choose not to go to events, or to choose to make their travel arrangements in such a way that means they’ll miss some awards shows.

The “dm-ing fans” part goes back to April, when Miranda apparently revealed that she had covid-19 in private messages to a handful of fans that had been at the Wales Comic Con and come into contact with her. It’s not unheard of for Miranda to send direct messages on Instagram to fans. But I absolutely agree that if she’s offering information to only a handful of people privately, there is a reasonable expectation of privacy there that fans should respect, but of course, they don’t… or at least they didn’t, back in April.

deux had two ladies on her most recent podcast, one who wrote taylor’s rolling stone profile during fearless/speak now and another who was the one to do kylie’s billionaire profile a few years ago for forbes. the lady who wrote for RS talked to people around taylor abd asked around about gaylor at the time of the NYT kerfuffle if the rumours had any validity, and she said that one of the boyfriends of the models taylor used to be close with said it was absolutely not true, BUT he said she should talk to joe, and separately she heard joe is ready to talk on the downlow about what went down with taylor and the end of their relationship. the other lady did a cover story with karlie a few years ago and deux said she also heard similar about joe.

idk that I buy that lol because if you could talk to Joe on the downlow and that was actually realistic why would you go on a podcast and say so lol? I’m not sure if Deux pays her guests or how much she pays them if she does, but I can guarantee a story in a legit pub would be worth more than that so I’m not sure why you’d blab about planning to do so. Seems kinda like shooting yourself in the foot. Cool podcast story though because titillating af. Re Kaylor/Gaylor obviously it’s not true lol - I’d say Taylor saying to CNN that it’s not settled that once and for all. I don’t require “insiders” when Taylor herself said to CNN “this is bullshit” lol.
