I think you're decontextualizing too much and talking from a privileged point of view. I'm not arguing with the objectivity of what your point is, but it's a very bland flat hill to die on, in my opinion. People can totally agree to disagree, but the whole "good luck living this way" or "it's never gonna happen" is nothing but a shrugging off problems just because they don't belong to you.

Of course trans folks have deeper issues, we've been fighting in a society that, by default, does not accept us and we're forced to explain our very existence on a daily (or whoever cares to, to be honest I dropped that one ball there). So that's why it's important to make people who are coming from said privileged spots (mind, I'm not using the word "privileged" to hop on a high horse and offend anyone) understand how some things are very easy adjustments to make to accommodate minorities. And you don't really need to know/profoundly understand /why/ it's important for them, you can simply trust it is if they say so.

It's like saying "why would I use City money to build a stupid ramp when wheelchair users can struggle a little and learn to climb a 3 inches step" or "why would I stop staring at that person's ass if it's out and it's natural for me to look at it" because you want to be better and it's not that deep.

Yet again, agree to disagree if adding "assigned at birth" is such an inconvenience. No one is word obsessed, but personally speaking I'll bend the usage of my language as much as I can to make sure everyone around me is comfortable and feels safe, I don't care and need to know why.

If you want to compare it to that, its more like if people in wheelchairs insisted that all stairs should be banned- ramps only- and you cant call them disabled anymore, everyone else is un-disabled. Society will never build itself around to a minority population, and shouldnt because it makes no sense.

Its not about "doing better" or peoples feelings. This is the main difference in thought process I think- some people view it as a moral social issue, some people view it as a issue of reality and logic.

What is a female? What is a male? A woman? A man? Whats the differences between them? Whats the difference between sex and gender? Are trans people actually transsexual or transgender? Is it even possible to be transsexual since you will never have the desired sex's gametes? Can someone be a female man or a male woman? At some point we need some god damn definitions. We cant just make words mean whatever we want them to.

Why not just have females, males, and transfemales and transmales?? Men, women, transmen, transwomen. That makes way more sense. Why would the majority and a whole ass language change to fit the minority? And even with the use of "cis", "trans" is still in use so attaching "cis" is pretty redundant either way!

This is the first time I’ve written about a crippled MC, so I hope I didn’t fuck this up or anything. I found out that being paralysed in both legs is a disability called Paraplegia so that’s how I titled this post. And y’all are too sweet, you are more than welcome anon! I hope I can portray this properly because I am not crippled myself so I’ve opted to do some research before writing this! I hope you like it! Also, I feel inclined to add that none of the brothers would treat you too differently if you happen to have a disability because you’re their human nonetheless :)

The Brothers with an MC that has Paraplegia and needs a wheelchair to get around:

Lucifer:

-Lucifer was in charge of choosing the final human, exchange student for the program so it’s guaranteed he already knew about your predicament before you even arrived

-Him and Diavolo probably had many meetings concerning your disability before the program could commence, considering that being unable to walk would double the chances of you getting killed since you are obviously more vulnerable

-Not to mention all the treatment you would require

-Lucifer is not well versed in human illnesses and disorders, but he makes sure that he is educated enough on the matter before you get brought down there

-It would not be easy, but he is determined to help you survive your year in DevilDom for the prince’s sake

-First problem of the day was, of course, your wheelchair

-Due to lack of time, Lucifer was unable to instal ramps around the House of Lamentation which meant that for the first couple of weeks, someone would’ve had to help you move around certain parts of the house

-He gave that highly prestigious job to himself because he didn’t trust his brothers and thought they would accidentally drop you and your wheelchair down the stairs

-He talks a lot to you, even at the beginning, because he needs to establish your needs and what he should do to make sure you don’t die for the following year

-You would have to tell him about physical therapy and how most commonly it uses heat, massage and exercise to stimulate your nerves and muscles, making it a great treatment for people with leg paralysis

-Once you two enter a more intimate and personal relationship, it’s more than likely he’ll help you perform those things himself (instead of kidnapping a human doctor from somewhere)

-Lucifer knows you have no problem getting around with your wheelchair by yourself but there are times where he’ll insist to push you along in order to give you a quick break

-I can totally imagine you two strolling around DevilDom and having cosy chats about RAD and your adjustments to DevilDom

-He has a softer side to him that he’s afraid to show most of the time, but he feels so at ease when you’re around, it’s hard for him to hold that part of him hidden from you

-Of course, your safety still remains his primary concern and he acts more like your guardian than Mammon does, even if he was originally supposed to look out for you

-He will accompany you almost anywhere. And if he can’t, he’ll have one or more of his brothers do it. And even then he’s probably lurking nearby, just in case

-He would always be willing to listen about your condition, if you wished to tell him whether you were born with the defect or why you ended up crippled later in life. Either way, he’s all ears

-If you would rather not speak about it, he wouldn’t pry and respect your decision because he knows it’s not his place to pressure you

-Because of your paralysis, it’s quite obvious to demons that you are even weaker (physically speaking) than most humans and that usually puts a target on your back

-Howver, never fear, because Lucifer is pretty quick to put lower rank demons in their place with just a mere stare

-Oop one of them passed out from the fear, haha

-In conclusion, he’s the most responsible when it comes your comfort and safety during your stay

-He makes sure you are always left in good hands and and provides most of the requirements you need

-Y’all should see how his wings puff up when he senses a threat approaching you, he looks like a peacock ready to go on attack lol

Mammon:

-The second born is unsurprisingly a bit of a jerk at first

-He stays really grumpy the whole day of your arrival because he’s stuck babysitting you stupid human

-“Lucifer c’mon, what’s all this workload for? The human can’t even walk by themselves, why do I have to help them out?”

-Wtf Mammon you can’t say shit like that

-Anyways, the following very few days, the only thing he’s thinking about is how much money he could sell your wheelchair for

-He’s the literal incarnation of greed, what else did you expect from him?

-After a while, he starts feeling a bit guilty every time he thinks about it though

-Mammon is gonna take this secret to the grave (laughs in immortal) but he actually really likes pushing you around

-Maybe it’s because it’s a clear indication to everyone around him that you are HIS human, under HIS protection and therefore you trust HIM the most since he was your FIRST MAN

-He will insist on helping you get out of that thing when you need to go to bed and stuff every night and he will get pouty real fast if you let any of his other brothers do it

-You wake up to him trying to roll around in your wheelchair one night at like 3am

-At some point, he stole a wheelchair from the human realm to match with his human. You can guess the consequences of his actions

-I can imagine you having to face a staircase or something at school and Mammon being like:

-“Fuck it, imma carry this fragile human instead; wheelchair and all!”

-Like you were a sack of potatoes or something smh

-Cue his brothers watching him from a distance as he heaves you and basically weight-lifts you up the stairs

-Ok but every now and again, he gets so sad thinking about you not being able to walk, like he starts crying kinda sad

-He’s so quick to help if he senses you’re in danger too

-It’s canon that Mammon is crazy fast if he wants to be so if he has even the slightest impression that your life is threatened, his feet are already moving

-He will charge at your immediate threat at around 120 miles per hour-do not try him when he’s mad

-“The Great Mammon saved the day! C’mon MC, let’s go buy some ice cream. My treat! Ya better be grateful!”

-He says while the demon that tried to eat you lies on the floor with about a dozen broken bones

-Mammon is the second most powerful demon out of all of his brothers, even if he doesn’t resort to violence often

Levi:

-He didn’t really know how to react when you first teleported to DevilDom

-I mean, from the very beginning he considered you to be a human normie but at the same time, he felt bad you were stuck with his brothers for the rest of the year

-I think he would understand you would have an even harder time integrating yourself in their house because of your disability and he knows his siblings are really fucking annoying, always pushing you around and whatnot

-So, he kinda lets you hide in his room quite often

-You guys chill out in there all the time, much to the dismay of the other brothers who also want to spend time with you

-At some point, Levi definitely begged asked Lucifer to let you start online classes with him

-“But wouldn’t it be easier for MC to do online school from home rather than go to R.A.D since there aren’t any ramps or anything around there???”

-“The answer is no Leviathan.”

-For some reason, he gets so flustered whenever you ask him to push you around

-He blushes right to the tips of his ears and then he starts sputtering some nonsense that you can’t make out at all

-You two would get along in the sense that Levi realises the struggles you faced all your life were tough to overcome and he believes you are just like him

-And he would get envious enough to stop talking to you for a day or two if you let his brothers do it instead (the second and third born are indeed similar lmao)

-Always seems to be the first to notice if you need help or if someone’s bothering you

-Though in the very beginning, he was pretty tempted to just let you get killed to see how angry Lucifer could get

-But after the two of you meet, he definitely starts thinking about how he takes his feet for granted all the time

-It would be so difficult to complete his daily tasks without the ability to walk or run around

-That’s why he gets sad every time he remembers that’s your reality and on days like that, you’ve noticed he gives you a helluva lot more attention than usual

-He knows you don’t need pity or anything so he’s just making sure his human has all the support they can get

-Paraplegia or not, shopping trips are still a go-go

-He loves buying you clothes! And he loves helping you try them on! Asmo takes it very seriously

-Might have a go at the employees if they’re being rude to you

-You don’t even ask him to, but he subconsciously starts pushing you around himself whenever the two of you are out together

-“MC! Look at that new shop that’s just opened! Isn’t it adorable? We have to check it out!”

-He can’t help it! There’s so many places he wants to visit, he sort of just drags you with him wherever he goes

-Even at home, he always pops out of nowhere to coax you into coming to his room

-Y’all have so many skin routines to do each day

-Like he’s in your room most nights to greet you goodnight and tuck you in, with the rest of his brothers it gets so awkward at times

-Asmo just wants to see you smile, ok? He thinks you have a beautiful smile and laugh and he wants to remind you that you’re marvellous, disability or not

-And if anyone does anything to put an end to your self confidence, he will swiftly put an end to their life

-Please, he’s a pro at ruining lives, he’s been doing it for centuries

-He didn’t really care, even when you first met and his hatred for humans was at its very peak

-It didn’t matter that you had a disability

-All that mattered to him at the time was killing you to satisfy that deeply rooted need of vengeance inside of him

-Though he was sort of surprised his brothers didn’t get to you first

-In general, he’s pretty chill about you being crippled in both legs

-It takes too much effort to worry about your well-being 24/7 after all

-Surprisingly, he does keep an eye out for you if his siblings aren’t nearby

-It’s his redemption arc people, he’s trying to be nicer

-But he has such an irritating way of showing his affection for you

-Do not let him push you around

-He’s either going to a) fall asleep after 30 seconds and slump over you in the middle of RAD’s halls

-Or b) be annoying and fling your wheelchair in every direction possible just to piss you off

-He likes messing with you because you give him the best reactions and he thrives on that

-You’ve almost fallen off your wheelchair multiple times because of this asshole

-Not that he’d actually let you fall, he just wants to see how easily he can get you to yell at him

-Speaking of said wheelchair, like Mammon and Levi, he also loves using it when you’re not

-You’ve woken up to him curled up and asleep in that thing quiet often and he’s gotten in trouble over it every time with Lucifer

-But he doesn’t care

-And at this point, I don’t think even he knows whether he’s doing it to get a reaction out of you or because he somehow found a way to make himself comfortable there

-He would low key use you as a mode of transportation every time you go to RAD

-Just clings the damn wheelchair and almost topples both of you over

Something I’ve been wondering. This might be a weird question, but one I’ve been wondering for awhile. The question is, what kinds of jobs are focused on increasing accessibility in society?

My first university was really focused on disabled students. Which was great. They were THE school in the area you went to if you had a physical disability because of how well they dealt with it. And not just in ways like having a handicapped bus to take wheelchair bound students to and from classes in the winter. Im small things too. Things like every building was design with accessibly traversing the building as the first step. Elevators being front and center ways to access other floors, and stairs as the back up or in the back of the building mostly for fire safety only. And teachers being specifically trained on how to help the stufents they had in their classes, not just a general “this is how to help disabled students” lecture.

Then I transferred and moved to my second university. And I saw all the ways they FAILED to make things accessible. Classes where the reading materials were all images with no text descriptions. Everywhere was stairs or escalators with a single elevator or ramp somewhere in a back hallway because they tacked it on later to meet building codes.

Then, I had an internship with a small startup company and every step of the way, I was the person in the room saying “We should add in a subtitle option”, “we need to make the volumn adjustable”, “We should make sure the color scheme is customizable”. Because no one was even thinking about any of those types things.

I had a class about Ethics of Computer Science where we spoke a lot about like, “Just because we CAN make something, doesn’t mean we always SHOULD”, and “where do we need to take a stand against things like online radicalization of minors” and looked at a lot of things from hidden Facebook groups of police, to Amazon patents that were downright torturous sounding if they ever made them. But I was the only person in the class who spoke about how we need to remember we have an obligation to accessibility. I did a presentation on how extremely inaccessible and badly made our online blackboard website was, and during it, I showed that while the most relevant information on the page for a sighted person was at the top of the page on the right which takes maybe a few seconds to find the first time, it took over 30 movements on a screen reader to get that same information. And even once it did, the class names were unintelligible messes due to terrible shortening of words. (1325_WRLD_HSTRY_AND_CULTR reads easily for a sighted person, but “One thousand three hundred and twenty five, underscore, double U Are El Dee, underscore, Eghch Ess Tee Are Why, Underscore, and, Underscore, See You El Tee Are” isn’t that helpful at all to know what the hell you’re havung read to you). Along with so many more issues for pretty much every disability I could think to check for, and even parts for neurotypical people too.

So, my question is basically, what kind of job could I look into that was specifically about finding those inaccessibility issues, and bringing them to the attention of those that can fix them? Or something similar to that type of thing. I don’t really want to have to settle on one specific field like “Web programmer with extra credentials about online accessibility” or becoming like a disability coordinator for a school since the former is just being a programmer but maybe the person on the team you ask about if something is good or not in the design stage. And the latter doesn’t actually do much to FIX any of the issues with accessibility. They are all about how to utilise what already exists to the best of their ability and get by without potentially proper support.

I’m a 14 year old centrist/right wing, and these are what I’m for and against. (No offense to anyone else/my values do not hurt anyone)

ANTI MAP/NOMAP/PROMAP If you have the desire to touch kids, your time would be better spent touching the cold inside of a jail cell. All pedophelic relationships are abusive even if the person claims to be a “nomap.”

Anti tucute and transtrenders Mental illness is never something to ignore so you can have an “aesthetic.” You invalidate trans people who have struggled, and you are inherently sexist by further instilling that male and female is just a “culture” rather than the safety you feel in your body.

I am transmed Meaning I believe gender dysphoria is something in the brain, which can lead to a longterm feeling of discomfort in your body. I completely support those who want to help themselves and will back any trans person looking for surgery. The choice is theirs to make. Even though transmed technically implies surgery is needed, I will respect the persons pronouns even before they get surgery as long as they are considering it. Because I know three issues off the top of my head: it could be unsafe at their age, it could be unsafe due to familial reasons (transphobic parents), or they could want to consider it for years to make sure they don’t back track. There are also more reasons so of course no matter how long it takes, I will chose to use the pronouns they want.

I only believe in two genders. However, I accept those who do not wish to disclose their gender. I mean, it’s your private parts. Of course I won’t force you to talk about them and I hope you live the happiest life. I also totally understand those who wish to go by they/them, just ask me so I know to not misgender you.

I do not like illegal immigration but DEPORTATION IS FUCKING ATROCIOUS. Here is the simplist way to explain why I don’t like illegal immigration: Imagine you work hard, and someone else slacks off and recieves a promotion. That's infuriating. There should be more sidewalks. And bridges that go over roads with ramps for people in wheelchairs or strollers, this is to reduce car emissions from the car needing to stop, and even better, it reduces the chance of a young child being hit at a crosswalk. Then I communicate to the people on how I'm going to help them on how to make them better so they know what there doing to support disability inclsuion and how to talk to people with disabilities. I shouldn't have to do this as people should know but I have to as I am responsible to make sure it is done right as i have the knowledge, expeirences and skills to use. It is up to them to change or not but if they don't they are losing out not me because I see my world truly is limitless. All my possibilities are endless . For now I share another achievement I worked for so long to make a reality. A 9 year olds girls dream came true .... at 34 years of age a british born indian catholic mother becomes the first in a wheelchair wins UK pagent and breaks the barriers for DisAbility Inclusion with my daughter who is 11. I wanted to show my daughter that every achievements I made happen with my dau ghte represent she has seen what true beauty is and she has seen I have done it all in my wheelchair and when I was walking. She has seen and been part of the hardest challenges and we have survived and won. Everything I do is for my baby girl to know she is included everythibg my daughter has gine through for being different just like me I have shown and she believes she can be anything she wants and do anything and I proved to her it is possible because she will always have the power one can take it away from her now matter what you will go through and how many times you fall you will always have the power to your life. I have decided to speak out the truth and iver the weeks you read what I go through for the changes to take effect. It will upset companies and people but if I keep hiding everything in and not post my stories of discrimination society will never change. God put me on earth of for a reason and he has given me a purpose and I am now channelling every part of my life to do that. i do feel kinda bad about using a wheelchair. for one its harder to navigate crowded spaces (elevator lines taking 30min-1 hour) and everyone with me has to suffer through that while normal people can take stairs/escalators no problem. 

lots of places have stairs/steps you cant avoid. so i have to either not go up or hope someone with me can lift my chair up onto raised areas (rarely possible) 

and its sometimes. a pain in the ass to find a door to go through. funny how no one wants to make the front door accessible they’ll make you go all the way around the building for a ramp 

and also. sometimes its just a pain to use the fucking bathroom. i dont care if people use the handicap stall if you’re going to use it as a regular stall but people love to sit in their and take a shit for 20 fucking minutes and then i cant use any other fucking stall to take a piss bc my fucking chair wont fit

and also its. big. i wasnt able to get one of those compact ones mines bulking n gets stuck on things and is in the way and everyone feels bad trying to squeeze past me and i feel bad fucking sitting there

if i didn’t have to i wouldn’t. use it. i try not to. but lots of walking means. i need it. i cant walk a lot i will just limp and collapse and be unable to move while in agony because my body cant hold it together. and i cant tell whats more of an inconvenience me falling apart and leaning on walls and slowing to a snails pace because im limping and going home early or. being in the way and big and everyone ignoring me wishing i wasn’t there or pretending i dont exist because they think looking at me and interacting with me will bother me

i wish i could just do things and i wonder why its not enough. why i cant just walk. i know its because of my body. that i was born easy to fall apart and broke my leg real fucking good but it just. sometimes it feels like ‘thats not excuse’ that ‘people have it worse’ and also people do better with the same set of circumstances too. maybe im not trying enough. maybe im not doing enough. maybe im not enough...
