darkwood disciple designs! not entirely happy with barbatos, but. ehh... good enough for now. these guys are specifically from Abstraction of the Soul, narilamb fic im writing with my fiancée @legendspeaker :3 notes and rambles under the cut

first, im running with the headcanon that amdusias, valefar, and barbatos were leshy's disciples. amdusias is referred to with it/its, valefar is referred to with she/her, and barbatos is referred to with they/them.

these designs were based in part on a hc i have that the minibosses were regular ass followers before they were changed to fight the lamb <3 since the lamb can change follower forms in game, the bishops totally could have too.

amdusias was a rabbit, valefar was a cat, and barbatos was a stag. part of the reason im not super happy w how barbatos turned out is because i couldn't figure out how to incorporate any stag-like features 😭 but amdusias has a bunny nose and valefar has cat face, and they both have fur on their faces and necks instead of leaves. (amdusias is also wearing the horn band it got in chapter 22!!)

for amdusias and valefar, i also wanted to try to incorporate the enemies of darkwood into their designs, like. amdusias is based on a chaser + spitter worm, so i tried to make it look a little bit like a chaser worm with their dark shadowy faces. same for valefar and the jumper worms. cannot tell if i actually succeeded tho bc i have artist bias.

i redrew barbatos four times. ouh my god. i love barbatos a lot but i actually wanted to figure out a way to kill them for real. anyways, i ended up taking inspiration from @/aveloka-draws barbatos and @/oneofthosenightbees barbatos for this design. ill probably redraw it later and end up massively simplifying it to something i like way better, but for now, it's good enough.

First, Dean was absolutely thrilled to know that reporters are still asking about him (he’s currently taking a break from social media which is why he didnt see your ask to him immediately). At the moment, no. But hopefully he’ll have an album coming out in the future once he’s reestablished his name in the music industry.

just read the breakup song and MAN😩😩. i'm in AWE with ur writing plsss it is illegal to be this good at it. writing smth svt related on tumblr was always on the back of mind but after reading ur fic, i sat down and started writing for god knows how long. i think i've found my element and its all thanks to u. the way u progressed through the story and the little bits that we saw about all characters gave the story so much dimension.. i finished it yesterday and still find myself going to reread it.. especially the intro meeting scene *mwah* i said the same thing under the post but im gonna say it again, THIS NEEDS TO BE A SHOW! i can see all of it playing out

also i wanted to ask u if u have any tips for very very newbie writers on here, especially svt content. like i said u inspired to start writing but find myself very confused at times, on making it look good and being able to reach many people

i don’t think i’m the best person to ask for advice from when it comes to writing on tumblr because i’m not on here frequently anymore 😭😭😭 and most of the time i just post whatever insanity my brain has conjured, which more often than not does fit within the standards of the kind of content that blows up on here (ahem, plotless smut, ahem). HOWEVER!!! if there’s anything specific you’d like to know/learn about fanfic writing and posting, i will try my best to help!!!

in terms of making fics look good n pretty, it’s always advisable to create a header that matches the vibe of the overall fic HAHAHHA the standard header formula on tumblr dot com is idol image + text (but as u can see.....i like to break that formula HAHAHAHAH) and make sure to use the appropriately spacings for ur text!!!

again, if there are any specifics that you'd like to get advice abt, feel free to ask more!! (with regards to reaching many people, i cannot impart any wisdom on that 😭😭 my fics generally do well because the following i've accumulated over the years even though most of the things i write don't pander to the general tumblr audience HAHAHAHAH i don't want to ruin ur creativity either by advising to write something that panders to that audience 😔😔).

The minion i've been using for him recently is the puffin from the newest dungeon

☝️ raiden & puffin. in the past i've used the hunting falcon & ofc estinien (of wind up & dress up variety. i've been wanting to make an edit of one of them to be foulques but...! modding is scary). it's mostly birds because raiden LOVES birds, especially chocobos. the chocobo chick was my favorite minion for the longest time i used CONSTANTLY because i had to be lore accurate and raiden would adore having a little chocobo follow him around.

for mounts, I'd say Raiden's favorite is the company chocobo u get. first mount ever. again he loves chocobos. (if there are more chocobo mounts than ones u get in msq i can get id love to know) he love's her her name is lexington (named after lexington, kentucky like the place with the horses) Lore wise his original chocobo was slaughtered at the bloody banquet so he couldn't escape & Haurchefants black chocobo was gifted to him because of that.

(i cant bear to part with lexington for one moment long enough to dye her so i could be lore accurate so she is still yellow. idk...)

Raiden has always loved birds when he came to Eorzea and saw just how abundant chocobos were for transport and the like he got a little obsessed (since there were none in yanxia, though he loved his friends yol). He had a very, very brief jaunt as a jockey because of that. so i try to incorporate chocobo stuff any way i can whenever the game lets me (half my island sanctuary animals are chocobos because of this) (the other half is karakul. for the elf wife, of course).

he had to quit because receiving his echo made them grow significantly, and just became too big to race anymore (like real horse racing, you have to be pretty light and small- though i'd imagine there'd be different divisions for different races since they vary so much in size & weight. raiden outgrew elezen division & was too small for roe 😭) oh, and also the whole "fighting primals" thing. I think that unfortunately took most of his attention away.

HIIIIII BELOVED JO <333 i had a pretty a-okay day !!!!! i hope you had a good day !!!

when i play skyrim i usually go back & forth between choosing a bosmer & dunmer rogue-like with a lot of their skill points put towards archery, speech, & the sneaking skill trees (like lockpicking & pickpocketing). mostly i start out this way, with my points put towards those sneaking skill trees so that it makes it easier for them to pass those skill checks, but then i also like to keep an off-hand weapon (like a dagger or one-hand sword) & level the one-handed perk alongside light armor for close encounters bc i don't always have a follower with me before this more recent run (mainly BECAUSE of my playstyle bc i preferred more quiet & i would forget that lydia LOVES to stomp around & charge enemies & traps &get us both killed mwah)

i NEVER touch any of the magic perks bc i get bored with the playstyle of being a mage. it works for other people but i cannot do it mwah. the extent of my using magic was using summons USUALLY HAHA

still figuring out my current run tbh!!!!

hmm my favorite faction... i like the nightingales from the thieves guild quest ! also it is ALWAYS fun to do the dark brotherhood quests so i suppose them too.

as for favorite mods ! im trying to remember what all are mods & what arent haha. my brother put in a few mods on my console back when we still shared it so ive been playing w my game like this for YEARS that idk what is vanilla & what isnt.

many of my mods are like. visuals, immersion, stuff like that, HOWEVER, i am a very big fan of the alternate start mod, even if i can NEVER choose how i would like to start. i just added follower mods so i am !!! having fun with those !!! trying this campfire mod & bc i like to play survival mode it adds to the experience. <3 & figuring out this character overhaul mod too bc it SOUNDS cool i like the concept HOWEVER i have yet to properly use it </3

11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is?

i tend to go through phases where i write mostly one pairing (gee i wonder what pairing that could be rn... 😵‍💫) but that said, i tend to write more from story ideas that i want to explore, and then picking a pairing/characters that suit the story i want to tell and working from there!!

more genuinely, almost everything i write comes from a place of something that's interesting and compelling to me, regardless of how i think it will be received/appreciated/understood by other people skjfbnksfb i'm lucky enough to have many friends and mutuals who are willing to read my silly little things regardless of how niche and bizarre they might be <3 but yeah idk. im headfull spiderman!fig atm sooooo

36. Do you visualize what you read/write?

yes!! consistently!! i can't really imagine trying to write without being able to visualize what i'm writing about- the setting, the surroundings, the expressions and body language of the characters, etc- when i'm particularly blocked, i tend to go back and focus on describing the visual and sensory experiences of the scene i'm stuck on, and that usually helps!! honestly a lot of the time i bemoan my lack of visual artistic ability because i have such vivid imagery for scenes in my head that i can't communicate in any way but through words </3

37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?

ooooh uh. honestly? my gorgug pov slasher follow up 😵‍💫 i think it's really strong and clean and i think it's a really effective sequel to the original slasher fic <3 also my two bad kids anxiety fics which are wholehearted and unabashed self projection but i think they're really fun <3

sybella, sybill trelawney x bellatrix black. they make me insane. i believe it was @/quillkiller who came up with them and i havent been the same since.

regulily. im a basic bitch i see two cool people kissing i become obsessed. they are exactly who i want to be. im not sure how i imagine lily because theres so many versions of her but every single one fits with reg perfectly

regtunia. im not sure whos post it was but someone made a moodboard and @/foursaints reblogged it and oh my god. oh my fucking god. they leave and sirius and lily are so happy that they are following in their footsteps but they just want a simple quiet life they dont want to rebel. they both feel abandoned and neglected. they are two sides of the same coin.

regubartylily, you and ren are geniuses. i cant decide whether i like the happy ending (regulily & rosekiller) or the bad ending (barty gets murdered) more. there is something compelling about the idea of both reg and lily projecting onto barty and wanting things from him. im not sure if they actually care about him or is he just providing them with attention. idk. it makes me feel kinda bad for him but also thats barty crouch jr. he deserves it. hes also the perfect pure pookiebear that hasnt done a thing wrong in his entire life but like. also he should suffer. you understand.

sybella is so interesting i don’t think i’ve every come across that (i gotta go stalk jen’s blog) but in a similar vein i loveeee sybillily. kara @/sugarsnappeases has talked to me about them extensively and has an amazing fic for them. they’re so interesting. like the girl who’s doomed and the one who doomed her. it gets me!!!!

bartylily is probably my biggest rarepair if they can even be considered rare anymore 🥲. there still aren’t many fics for them but i think they’re kinda taking off on tumblr which so so fun. they’re so special to me and i’ll love them forever.

and then of course we’ve got regubartylily and jartylily. my cursed threesomes. what can i say i love to stick barty in the middle of a preexisting ship and see what happens.

i’ve also talked about evjames a couple times. i don’t ship them at all but i think they’re hilarious when put in a relationship together.
