some more paul and physical touch as his love language headcanons? 🥺🤲
aaaa i love love love paul x physical touch :((
i think that paul is obsessed with physical touch. as in, actually obsessed. as in, he's not able to be in the same room as you without having his hands on you. but not only is it something he craves and feels like he's starving without, but it's also his way of showing you how much he loves you.
he doesn't always like to admit just how down bad he is for you, though. when you've had a bad day, paul's excuse is wanting to comfort you; with you settling in his lap, his hands caressing your thighs as he listens to your rants, the proximity in itself lessening your pain. when you're in a crowded space, paul blames it on needing to keep you safe; with an arm slung around your waist, a hand on your side and his fingers grazing your ribs, he guides you through the mass of people at the festival, just to make sure you don't get lost and no one tries to steal you away (he doesn't know how to explain the fact that he keeps his arm there even when you're out of the crowd, though).
but a lot of the time, he can't be bothered to be shy about his feelings. in the mornings, when you're a mess of yawns and tangled limbs, paul will wrap you in his embrace and never let go, fingers brushing up and down your arms. when a race goes particularly well, he wants nothing more than to lift you up in the air and squeeze you tightly to him. and late at night, when you're wrapped up in blankets together and the movie on the tv is long forgotten, he loves to trace his thumb along your features, down the slope of your nose and over the apple of your cheeks.
but his favorite act of physical touch? hand-holding, 100%. he'll be holding your hand at all times – while sleeping, cooking, driving, eating, walking, cuddling, you name it! there's just no better thing to him than the feeling of your fingers slipping between his, the backside of your hand under his thumb, getting to squeeze your hand in his...
of course, he loves receiving it just as much. nothing beats the tingle that shoots through his body when your fingers thread through his hair, your nails scratch down the back of his neck, or palms glide over his muscular shoulders.
but not only is it in the needy way that he wants your physical affection; your touch really means a lot to him. it's comforting, stabilizing, soothing. and most importantly, it's reassuring, like a physical reminder of how much you love him.

Someone sent me a message on Discord like "why is everyone obsessed with the Random Guy" in regards to the tags on my previous post. SO. I definitely rambled there but also I love this plot a whole lot and it's very dear to me so:
Tolliver is the "Just a Guy" who Kronos wants dead for stealing all of the Devil's focus. The thing is, Tolliver doesn't WANT the focus but not much he can do! He was born and his parents opted to sell /his/ soul to the succubi in exchange for wealth and fame. So while they retained souls (and then promptly died after ticking off the wrong people with their money and habits, coincidental deaths of course) he doesn't have that leniency. He can do whatever he wants and he'll still be dragged to Hell when he dies even if he's a saint. His soul is already waiting for him down there.
So the Devil is like "well, time to send low ranking demons after my living toy but I distinctly do not wish him dead yet" and that's not really a thing Tolliver knows. So he thinks if he doesn't really fight back he's just gonna die early and while he doesn't think it's nice on earth, he'd rather not start his eternal burning quite yet. So he uses a magic marker (literally) to ward off and banish the demons. That's why the Devil is invested in him - it's entertainment on earth with his future property!
Kronos going up to kill him and then failing and then becoming his roommate is actually the reason why other demons kinda track Tolliver. They're tracking Kronos. They need Kronos back in Hell come on stop loitering on earth buddy. (he continues to loiter on earth)
The siren is purely coincidental in that Tolliver sees her when it's cold and gives her his jacket completely unaware she isn't even human. Then we have one of the bad guys, The Boogeyman. He feeds off of nightmares and that means Tolliver is a delight since all he HAS is nightmares. Man's never had a good dream in his life. So it's a nice little "promised" meal but he ropes the Sandman into luring others to sleep for him to feed off of. Eventually Lady Luck gets involved with Boogie and she's a bit arrogant and childish (there's lore there) and then she sees Tolliver. Fighting against Boogie's grasp despite having nothing to fight for. And she decides he deserves one win in his life since it's clear that the hand he's been dealt sucks. And stops helping Boogie which ends up being his demise.
All the demons that directly interact with Tolliver aren't there for the random guy, honestly. They're there for Kronos. Who unfortunately is obsessed with Tolliver (and he's got such a weird gay crush on the guy and gets so emotionally distraught when Tolliver doesn't feel the same cause he doesn't feel anything for anyone because he doesn't have a soul and feels zero attachment.)

Hi, can you maybe explain more about your tags under the armand + malik gifset? What Do you mean when you talk about armands gender and she/her pronouns? I'm in my late 30s and english is not my native language and I have trouble understanding what people mean when they say stuff like that, like lestat beeing she/her coded. And you seem to get it. Hope thats not a bother and thanks!
Hi! So basically I can only speak for myself here, and obviously if anyone else is reading this and has some throughts to add, feel free to.
I myself am nonbinary; genderfluid to be more precise. Also, I don't think I've ever tried to spell out what I'm about to attempt to, so bare with me.
I think this is mainly a thing among queer and genderqueer people, where we have this, almost an ability, to sense that there's something non-cishet happening? It's those fine little details that give you a sense of where someone's gender expression is at, at a certain moment.
It might seem crazy to someone who reads about this for the first time.. And obviously, I'm by no means making any assumption about the actors themselves, I'm saying this purely looking at the moments we see acted onscreen in character.
And perhaps a lot of the times there's a level of projecting from our side when we say things like that - but it goes a bit hand in hand, because we simply recognize those traits and behaviours we're familiar with in ourselves and our friends. And the fact that it's the same moments - both for Lestat and Armand - where there's a lot of people noticing it and making those she/her, babygirl, Mother etc. comments individually, separatelly, on their own en masse sensing the same thing... that suggests to me that there's probably something true about all this :P
But yeah, generally speaking, it's difficult to describe what in particular it is that has us going "what I'm looking at is very she-coded (or he-/ they- coded)"... Whether it's something delicate about the movement of a wrist, or a melody in their voice, or the tilt of their head as they smile that you never see in a cis man... Maybe I'm actually touching on something here - maybe it's those small movements you know you almost never see in some people, but very often in others - and we're just more attuned to noticing them and registering them as transcending the usual cis behaviour
I went to put this in tags but maybe it's a good summary: generally speaking it boils down to "this character makes some choices and those choices are not ones you often see made by *insert their generally assumed identity*"
