ive been Searching and Craving for any scenario/canon divergent au where jon and tim make up because jon shows tim thats hes just as much a victim as anyone else and tim is just like... ah. so we're both assholes. and jon insists that tim didnt do anything wrong (and obviously its all very whumpy and hurt/comforty). basically just... tim and jon making up because tim wants to after jon tugs at his heartstrings enough (because im a sucker for the whole "whatve i done" bit)

Too Much Chapter 2!

Watching Martin remove the evidence of panic by carefully, slowly, swiping a damp flannel over Jon’s skin, Tim continued holding the cold pack in place. The man between them made a sound, nondescript, shifting enough that his lips parted with a soft sigh as he settled.

“He’s made a right mess of these.” Martin lamented, gingerly lifting one hand to examine the heavy bandages, soiled with fresh blood and coming undone. Not altogether certain he wanted to know what was hidden away beneath, Tim stayed silent. “Would you mind fetching the first aid kit while I get rid of these?” He used the time away to take a deep breath, attempting to gather his rampant thoughts now that he was roped into fixing up their boss. There was always the possibility of giving him the kit and hightailing it out of that place and never setting foot near document storage again but before he realized what he’d done he’d accumulated other supplies he figured they might need and the relief in Martin’s eyes when he slipped back into the room was palpable. Jon’s hands were bare, blisters laid over blisters, broken and bleeding sluggishly from torn welts, one palm layered over with a nasty burn. Tim couldn’t help the noise torn from his throat in sympathy as the walls he’d built around himself began to crumble under the weight of Jon’s wounds--and he wasn’t even the one to bear them! Jon had acquired more scars, more shadows in the gaunt hollows carved into his body by his bones since Prentiss. It was like laying eyes on a stranger, or opening his own and finally seeing what his negligent ignorance had truly cost.

Were these marks, this pain, not proof that Jon had every right to be scared? Paranoid? To suspect them? When it was his own “friends” raising hands violently against him?

“What. Martin, what happened?” He accepted the water, easing Jon’s arm over the edge of the bed and doing Tim the kindness of not reminding him that he’d never cared to know before.

“I couldn’t tell you what caused most of this, but you know. Daisy.” He swallowed, eyes narrowing as he dabbed away the worst of the scarlet slicking his skin and Tim saw red at the reminder. How dare she touch him. “Hush now, you’re alright.” Jon’s arm twitched, an aborted attempt to tug his hand away from Martin’s surely painful ministrations. “Just cleaning these up.”

“Hnn…” Saltwater-soaked lashes fluttered and damn his body’s reactions but Tim was at his side on the cot before he could blink and wholly unsure of what to do now that he was there, settling on running fingers through tangled curls, teasing out the knots as Martin worked. Clouded and slightly crossed, Jon’s glazed brown eyes peered up at him, through him, blinking slow, and Tim could feel the heat of his fever under his palms.

“Hey, bud.” Surprising himself with his own softness, Tim continued combing through his hair. “Close your eyes, boss. Marto’s fixing you right up.”

“Hur’s.” Badly slurred and tinged with vulnerability he wasn’t used to anymore, Jon’s voice sent a chill racing up Tim’s spine.

“I know.” He said anyway. “It won’t soon.” Trust and exhaustion won out, dragging bruised lids closed. “Martin.” Tim didn’t look up, tracing silver strands, so many, with the fingertips. “I would like to know. Please.”

Martin hummed, finished up the first hand, the worst hand, and cradled it over Jon’s stomach in a poor attempt at elevation before starting on the next one.

“I haven’t gotten much out of Jon--not because he won’t tell me!” He amended, remembering the promise Jon had made to be honest with them and clearly worried it would make Tim angry again if he thought he was keeping secrets. “He’s just. I mean.”

“I understand.” After leaving Elias’ office, whatever tenacity and fortitude Jon managed to scrape together after his ordeal with Daisy and Basira had faded quickly. Even Tim wasn’t able to ignore how bad off he was, more along the lines of being unable to explain than lacking any desire.

“I know she, she hit him. He’s bruised all over. Clocked him with her gun I assume, to leave him concussed--I still can’t believe I didn’t notice sooner.”

“It’s alright. We’ve all been. Preoccupied.” Some of them only with themselves.

“He was filthy, covered in dirt and I think bl’blood? Not his. Or, not all of it I think.” Martin rubbed his own neck thoughtfully, tracing a path that mirrored the red grin carving up Jon’s throat. “I think.” He looked into Tim’s eyes, haunted. “I, I overheard them saying he’d been made to d’dig a grave.”

“His grave.” There was no real proof, not yet. But it felt right. And Tim felt sick. “His hands.”

“The burn is bad, I don’t know how he got it.” A crease formed between Martin’s knit brows. “I. Tim.” He sighed. “You’ve been so furious with him.” He dragged both hands down his face. “Jon’s doing his best. Please, you have to believe that.”

“I think I’m beginning to.” He’d yet to stop his detangling. Jon liked when people he trusted played with his hair, especially when he wasn’t feeling well. Unbidden and effervescent, memories rose to the surface of Tim’s mind, each a different moment, beads of time strung on delicate silk strands. Sasha. Sasha, whose true face, true voice, had been written over and worn, her hands on Jon’s shoulders, working out the tension he carried there despite his complaints. Tim himself draping a cardigan over him where he slumped forward on his desk in Research when he succumbed to sleep. A rare moment at someone’s apartment, Jon three drinks in, flushed bright red and ridiculous, throwing himself into Tim’s lap and nuzzling his stomach until he got what he wanted; hands in his hair, on his back, honest to god cuddles. The embarrassment in the morning would paint him vivid with blush and he would accept the painkillers and tea with a shy grin.

That Jon was still in there.

Right?

For the first time in his career Tim chose to come into work early, heading immediately to doc storage to find Jon curled up against Martin, ruddy face squished against his chest and arm slung over his waist as though he’d recently been clinging there.

And if this had been another time, another universe, he would have teased them both, but the shadows under their eyes were beginning to match.

“We had a hard night.” Martin yawned hugely and Tim caught a quick glimpse of glassy brown at the movement but Jon passed out again in the next second. “Nightmares. You remember Crew?” Tim nodded. “Explains the vertigo. He’s going to want to work.” Martin’s palm found its way to the back of Jon’s head, tucked him under his chin as he exhaled, slow and measured.

“And you want him to rest.”

“He won’t.”

He didn’t.

But the dizziness kept him in his office for the most part and Tim helped keep an eye on him, checking up regularly, awkwardly. It was almost like old times. Except Jon was careful not to speak. Not now that he might force answers out of someone. Not now that he might be hurt because of it. Jon was smart. He tried to remember the things he learned because he only seemed to learn the hard way and right now he was trying to figure out Tim while Tim was trying to figure out himself, wary of the change towards him, confused when instead of lashing out, he asked if he needed anything.

“N’no, thank you, Tim.”

“It’s no trouble.” But it was physically painful to watch the gears turn as Jon balanced the possibility of pissing him off with how uncomfortable he was in this situation. “I’ll check back later, yeah?”

“Uh. Y’yeah. Yes. I mean, yes.” Nervously, he shifted between folders. “Of c’course.”

The day dragged and Jon’s fever and groggy exhaustion lingered, kept barely in check by Martin plying him with the painkillers and fever reducers because he refused A&E. It was frustrating, even if he was looking somewhat improved. When they caught him asleep it was often in the throes of a taxing nightmare. He was a shadow in his attempts to avoid them all, to focus on work, and now that Tim was paying attention he didn’t like how Basira was so cold, how Daisy made Jon flinch on purpose, how Melanie went out of her way to collide with him in the narrow hallways. How he was slight enough, unsteady enough that it sent him into the wall.

How he did nothing about it except murmur apologies and move past them as quick as he could.

Jon was back to pushing himself too hard, not bothering to ask for help because he’d never gotten any before so it wasn’t worth bothering with it now. He was alone. Deserted by everyone except for Martin--and oh the way his expression lit up at the sight of him. How soft his voice became when he thanked him for the tea. Tim knew Martin couldn’t see it yet, or wouldn’t let himself realize, but Jon was taken with him. Smitten. And already believed beyond a doubt that he had no worth. As prickly as Jon could be there was so much love in him just vying for a way out.

How could Tim have forgotten that?

Tim paced the length of the archives three times before heading back to check on Jon, alarmed when the office was empty. Worry, both familiar and unfamiliar, twined its way around his heart. He'd watched as the afternoon hours slipped by and Jon became worse and Tim didn’t bother asking anyone he came across; they didn’t care, he wasn’t supposed to care. But there weren’t many places Jon would go and Tim found him in the breakroom stabilizing himself on the sink. He didn’t react, didn’t turn, didn’t seem to know anyone was behind him, and Tim could make out shivery, deliberate breaths. Jon let go, lifting a hand dazedly to his forehead and staggering backwards such that Tim had to steady him.

“Whoa there, Boss.” Softly, quietly, Tim knew his head was still pounding more often than not no matter how adamant his denial. It didn’t stop Jon from flinching like he’d been struck or attempting to whirl around and only making it all that much worse as eyes filled with fear rolled back into his head and Tim had to catch him outright, lowering him to the floor and pillowing his shoulders in his lap. Unconsciously, he laid a palm over his overwarm forehead, dragging fingers back through damp strands rhythmically and wondering how he’d react to waking up with Tim staring down at him. They were dancing around each other, or at least Tim was. Jon couldn’t do much more than sit at his desk in what amounted to pyjamas and pretend to work in an attempt to wedge some normalcy back into his life.

“What happened?” At least now Martin’s inquiry wasn’t accusatory as he knelt beside them and checked over Jon himself. “How long?”

“Minute. Maybe two? He, uh. I surprised him and when he turned…” he trailed off, gesturing with a sigh.

“Ma’tin…” nothing more than a small breath of awareness in recognition of his voice, eyes still closed.

“You should be at your desk.” Lightly scolding.

“Nn...was col’...tea…” Tim met Martin’s eyes with worry at the barely coherent jumble of syllables caught on his sluggish tongue and he held up a hand, signaling him to wait.

“What’re we going to do with you, hm?”

“...Dunno…” He’d failed to understand the gentle ribbing for what it was, instead answering honestly, tearfully, and it tugged on Tim’s heartstrings. Martin chuckled kindly to ease the sting, moving forward to lift his weight off from Tim and standing still to let Jon wind a hand loosely into his jumper, hanging on for dear life with a gasp.

“You sound tired.”

“Mmyeah...tire’...” And that discordant admission alone was enough to cause alarm, doubly so when his body lost all rigidity in Martin’s hold.

“Martin--”

“Shh, Tim. He’s alright.” Protectiveness urged Tim to follow them back to document storage. Concern made him sit down before Martin asked. “Stay with him? I don’t want him to forget and wander off again. I’m gonna get that tea and something for the fever.” Tim supported his chin with a hand, elbow digging sharply into the top of his knee, and watched Jon sleep. With his eyes, he traced invisible constellations over the worm scars dotting his skin and connected their lines to the ink dark splash of lashes twitching as he dreamed. “What’re you thinking about?”

“How much running I’ve been doing.”

“Mm.”

“How much easier it was to ignore all this if I just hated Jon instead. Blamed him for it.” He lifted his fingers in a bitter and general indication of their unreasonably bad situation. “He’s made mistakes. We all have. And his are the only ones I’m not willing to forgive.” Tears prickled at the corners of his eyes, stung. “Why is that?” His skin blushed with heat when his voice broke on a sob and before Martin could speak they were interrupted.

“Head’spounding…” He could barely keep his eyes open.

“Ah, I’m sorry, love, I know, here,” he was like a rag doll when Martin lifted him. “This’ll help.” Tim watched the ease with which Martin navigated Jon. All sweet and kind, steadying his hands when they proved too shaky to hold the cup, testing his temperature with the inside of his wrist when Jon was distracted with swallowing down the medicine.

“Shouldn’t do this.” Whispered, lost and undone, as Martin tucked him in, gripping back tightly when Jon grew dizzy with the change. “M’sorry.”

“You say that too often, Boss.”

“Hush, both of you.” To Jon, “we can all talk later, when you’re feeling better. It’s okay to need help. It’s okay to rest.” And while he didn’t look convinced, he was helpless against the drag of that heavy, insistent tide of exhaustion.

“Never liked to owe people, our Jon.” Martin sighed, frustrated.

“It’s not a transaction. I wish he’d trust that I only want to help.” Tim snickered ruefully as Martin tucked stray salt and pepper strands behind Jon’s ears.

“He’s always been suspicious of decency.”

“That’s not right.” There was a lot wrong with it, and far too much to solve at this moment.

“You look knackered, Martin. Go home.” He needed caring for after keeping them all together like he’d done. “I’ve got it from here.”

“I don’t want to ask that of you.”

“You’re not asking, Marto.”

“Tim--”

“I need to. I. I need to do this.”

Tim was worried that the only reason Martin left him here alone was because he was too tired to spend another night here keeping an eye on the both of them. He only had himself to blame when it came to the loss of trust.

It was no secret his dislike of Jon.

He hadn’t forgotten his treatment of him just the other day. Yanking him up off the ground and shouting at him, blaming him for his confusion and unsteadiness, for worrying Martin while he’d been the one ill and frightened and unmoored on the dusty floor. A mournful cry jolted him out of his musings, and the nightmare didn’t sound kind, wrenching Jon awake and leaving him panting, narrow chest heaving, eyes wide and unfocused in the dim.

“Hey.” Soft and quiet, it didn’t stop Jon from jumping in surprise, nearly swooning when he jerked his head in the direction of his voice. “Back with me?”

“Tim.” Real surprise, he blinked hard, trying to clear his bleary vision. “Yeah. S’sorry.” Jon offered him a sheepish quirk of his lips.

“I’m the one who needs to apologize, Jon.” He swallowed thickly and Tim could hear the click in his throat, somewhere behind the bandage hiding that yawning red grin from sight.

“Wh’what?”

“I’ve treated you unfairly.”

“No, no, Tim. You. You had every right! I was out of line and suspected the worst with no proof and didn’t trust yo--” Jon was trying to get up, ignoring how it had to hurt, and when Tim made to stop him, he flinched in real fear and backed himself into the corner. “S’sorry. I. It’s, it isn’t you, I swear.” Guilt wrapped around Tim’s heart like a thorny vine at his stammering apologies, at the way Jon laughed at himself and scrubbed his face with the back of a bandaged hand, staring up at the ceiling as new tears pooled in his eyes. “A lot’s h’happened.” When he closed them, the damp rolled down his cheeks into the grey at his temple. “I,I,I know you don’t w’want to hear it. But I, I don’t have anything else left t’to offer and I’m so s’sorry.” Jon tucked up his knees and buried his tear-stained face in the blankets he pulled around himself. Scared and small and awaiting derision. Tim edged closer.

"Jon.” He reached out to touch and thought better of it. “I think. I think I'm ready to hear it now." Consumed by constant fear and torment, run ragged for months and months, when Jon risked glancing up at him Tim could finally look past his anger and see him. Flushed with fever, thin and drawn, bruised and beaten and burned.

But still Jon.

Still Jon, terrified of the kind of help he'd been taught by experience not to ask for. Not to accept. Not to trust. Not to need.

“No, n’no, Tim. It’s.” He sniffed, tried to offer Tim a watery smile. “M’not feeling w’well, heh. You know how I, how I am.”

“I know you don’t take care of yourself.” He continued before Jon could interrupt. “I know I’ve left you to deal with this alone.” Indeed, at the very first sign of trouble, Tim abandoned him to his own devices. “I understand why it’s been difficult to trust me.”

“Not just you.” Tim had to strain to hear him, voice tiny, wavering with misery. “It’s so hard to trust, I have to, to think about it, choose it, don’t I. Talk myself out of how a’afraid I am all the t’time. I can’t even trust myself, my words. I. They. It’s easier to not speak at all, if it can be helped. And I try. But. Tim.” Fraught, brown irises nearly swallowed by black pupil bored into him, begged him to listen, to see. “I’m a monster.”

“Jon--” He tugged at messy curls, ignoring the pain it had to cause, the spots of blood, and if Jon would let him, he would need to fix the wrappings after this. He’d folded into himself even tighter, rocking himself just slightly in an attempt at comfort.

“If everyone is saying it, it must be true. But I’m trying. I promise, Tim, I promise. I was hoping it counted for something, anything. I can’t. I.” He broke off, attempting to pull himself together, face contorted and when he noticed Tim’s stricken expression, stumbled on with half-thought out reassurances. “I, I won’t stop! T’trying, that is. I, I, I want to, to be better. I don’t want to hurt anyone. It’s not about counting, it’s about doing the right thing. Or something close to--it never seems to work out, I’m not. I keep doing the wrong things so I know--but I p’promise--and besides, D’Daisy’s watching, if you’re worried, heh.” He laughed, a little broken thing, tears glittering in his eyes. “She’ll put me d’down. If that makes you feel any better.”

And god how could he think Tim wanted that? Jon, living with the knowledge that any mistakes he made could lead to--

Hanging over his head. Just awaiting collapse.

“That’s. Jon, I don’t want her to do that.”

“Oh. Did.” Tim realized the pause was an attempt at managing his powers of compulsion. “Did you want to? Instead I mean?” Tim recoiled in horror at the genuine curiosity, the dull acceptance that they all might be waiting for their chance. Numbness flooded his fingers. And even though Tim knew Jon was trying to use the right words, the ones that would make him feel better, he was furious.

“How could you think that?!” Jon held up his raggedly bandaged hands, the blisters from digging his own grave and who knows what else hidden from view.

“I, I’m sorry, I. You’re right, that was stupid of me. I’m sorry, Tim, I’m sorry, I--” Tim cut him off by sweeping him into an embrace, pressing his face into his shoulder. He was little more than bones rattling around in a scarred and ruined skin, shaking in his arms, his own held away, stiff. Dear lord, what had he done? “T’Tim? I, I’m sorry I’ve upset you.”

“Stop it, Jon.” And he collapsed, spent from his outpouring, breath loud in Tim’s ear. “Just stop.” Tentative, Jon wrapped him up in return. “I’m going to do better.”

“You don’t--”

“I do. And I am.” Damp soaked into his sleeve despite the silence with which Jon sobbed, little more than uneven, ardent gasping as they clung to each other.

“B’but.” He pressed closer, starved for it. “I.”

“I’m sorry.”

“I’ve been so afraid.” Murmured against his shirt, Tim could feel the shapes of his words, the trembling of his lips.

“I’m sorry.”

“Are you. You mean. If, if you--I couldn’t stand it. If it wasn’t real.” Desperately, he whispered, thick with tears. “Don’t think I’d survive losing you again.” Too much loss. Too much all around and not one time had Tim thought about who he still had.

“I’m going to help you.” Tim realized then he’d been crying as well. “Like I should have from the start of this mess.” Gently, he pulled him away, took his damaged hands. “Let me get these fixed up. If Martin sees them, he’ll have both our heads on pikes.” For a moment, Tim was worried it was too soon, that Jon would need to hide this vulnerability from him, and he held his breath, until he nodded, just once.

It would take time, but they’d made a start.

Flights Delayed

SAM WILSON X READER

A/N: why is this not my life??? I love Sam and this beautiful human being who sent in this request. I loved it and couldn’t wait to post this piece. Hope you like it :)

REQUEST: I saw your call for Sam Wilson requests on your arts and crafts fic, which was excellent by the way, and I thought I might send one in! How about reader as an avenger who either can’t make it home for Christmas, or doesn’t have a home to go to. And Sam stays with them at the compound and they stay up watching Christmas movies, until reader falls asleep on his shoulder. I’m a sucker for some Christmas fluff! ❣️🎄🎁 - Anon

You thanked Happy as you climbed out the car, pulling out your suitcase and shutting the door. You giddely walked towards the airport entrance, finding the right area for Terminal 2. This Christmas you were staying with your family for the first time in 2 years. You couldn't wait to arrive home and feel the familiar comfort of your childhood home and forget about the stress and panic of the world for a few days. Soon, you found the waiting area for flight 227 and sat down amongst many awaiting adults, eager to go home to see their families. You checked the flight board, smiling at the green notices saying all flights were on time and that yours left in 35 minutes. Pulling out your phone from your puffer jacket, you noticed that you had a notification from the groupchat you shared with Nat, Sam, Steve and Bucky called SPYKIDS. Sam: hope your flight is good y/n, have a nice christmas x Steve: gonna miss you at the compound :) Nat: enjoy the break lovely xx Bucky: Sam is waiting for you to reply Y/N i can see him checking his phone every 30 seconds. Sam: am not Steve: liar Sam: shut up Bucky: dont be rude sammy Sam: I hate it when you call me that and you know it 😑 Nat: not when y/n says it you don't Steve: ....exposed ☕ Sam: wish id never said anything now 🤦‍ Nat: hehe You chuckled and sent back a text Y/N: thanks guys haha, have a lovely christmas sammy x You clicked on spotify and opened some music up, putting in your headphones to pass the time. Around 10 minutes later you noticed a lot of people were starting to talk louder and there was a bit of commotion. You turned round to see where everyone was looking and your heart dropped. Snow. It was fricking snowing outside. Normally you would have been ecstatic at the sight of snow at Christmas, but right now it only meant one thing. Delayed flights. You glanced up at the flight board and saw only one flight had been delayed. Crossing your fingers and praying to any power there may be, you sat down in your chair and searched the weather on your phone. Just 10 minutes later, the airport was chaos central. Almost all flights had been delayed and the frustration of tired people was rising. You had been flicking between the glass windows which looked out over the runways and showed you the increasing precipitation to the flight board. Your flight hadn't been classified as delayed yet and you could sense everyone around you was waiting with baited breath at whether it would change to delayed. You shifted in your seat and watched with utter sadness and irritation as the letters next to your flight number switched to state DELAYED. You groaned alongside the other awaiting passengers, just hoping for a miracle so the snow would clear up soon. This frustration unfortunately didn't fade away and as the minutes passed by, you felt a christmas surrounded by family slowly drifiting away. The snow was falling heavier now and you dreaded looking at the flight board, knowing the glaring orange letters would not ease the tension in the atmosphere. You glanced down at your phone, seeing it had been over an hour since your flight was meant to have left. A sudden speaker crackled and everyone looked up in hope, "We thank everyone for waiting patiently for information on their flights. Unfortunately, the snow has not cleared and the runways are becoming increasingly dangerous. It is expected that their condition will not improve so we must regrettably inform you that all flights scheduled for today have been cancelled. Our staff will be happy to help you find temporary accommodation and we will continue to update you on flight statuses. Thankyou." At once, the airport exploded into an uproar and angry passengers stormed towards the information desks. Your heart sunk as the flight board wiped out to display all cancellations. How were you meant to arrive home in time for Christmas now? You didn't want to spend christmas eve at an airport. Tears threatened to fall from your blurry eyes as your perfect christmas slipped away. You sniffled a little and unlocked your phone, deciding that texting your mum was best. You explained the situation and you got an instant reply, stating she was incredibly sorry and that they would all miss you tomorrow. You arranged with her to fly home on the 27th so you could still spend some of the holiday with your family. Sitting back in your seat, you looked around at the mania of tired passengers and wondered what you were going to do now. You had no clue if anyone was even staying at the compound over Christmas. Racking your brain for someone to call, you decided Tony would be the best as he would know everyone's wearabouts. He picked up after the second ring: 'Hey kid, everything okay?' he asked, concern in his voice. 'Urh no not really, all flights today have been cancelled and I don't know where to go.' You replied, trying not to burst into tears. 'Oh Y/N im so sorry. I can get someone to pick you up and drive you to ours if you want, I'm sure Morgan and Pepper would love to spend Christmas with you.' You sighed at Tony's kindness but the least you wanted to do was intrude on their private time and plus, the drive would take at least 8 hours in this weather now. 'That's really sweet but the roads are jammed Tony. Is anyone staying at the compound?' 'Yeah, Sam is currently there now and Steve and Bucky are going over tomorrow.' Tony replied and you sighed in relief. 'Okay thanks, I think I'll stay there with them.' 'Okay kiddo, call me if there's anything you need.' 'Will do, merry christmas Tony." "Merry Christmas y/n." You hung up on Tony and searched for Sam's contact, clicking on it and hearing it ring a few times before his gravelly voice came through. "Y/N i thought your flight had left?" He asked and you rubbed your forehead, a headache weeding itself into your brain, "Uh no, all flights have been cancelled because of the snow." At once, you heard Sam get up and his voice fill with concern, "Love I'm so sorry, I'm coming to pick you up now." You nod and sniffle, "Okay, thanks Sammy." "No worries, I'll be there as soon as I can."He replied. You picked your stuff up, heading for the terminal exit to wait in the pick up area. You sunk down into one of the padded seats, closing your eyes and leaning back against the wall. God you hoped Sam would arrive soon. Sam walked into the pick up waiting room, scanning the huge crowd for your familiar body. He weaved in and out of people until he spotted your defeated frame, slumped in a chair. His heart sunk at your sniffling and tear-stained cheeks. "Oh love I'm here." He said as he squatted down in front of you. You opened your eyes to see his face, brows furrowed. "Sorry for being a pain." Your hoarse voice croaked out. "Nonsense. Let's get you home." Sam replied, wrapping an arm around you and carrying your bag and suitcase despite your attempts to stop him. You shivered as you exited the building into the nipping air and Sam pulled you closer, heart breaking at your shivering form. He took you over to the car and opened the passenger side, letting you slide in before shutting it and placing your luggage in the back. He climbed into the drivers side and turned the engine on, wanting nothing more than to pull you into his lap and hug you whilst you cried. But, that would cross over the boundary that clearly defined your relationship as 'Just Friends' so he had to make do with holding your hand across the console. After a while, you stopped crying and your body had relaxed into the warmth of the car, easing your throbbing head. You softly spoke to Sam, "Thankyou for coming to get me, I know this isn't how you wanted to spend your Christmas Eve." Sam chuckled and rubbed his thumb over your hand, "Its alright love, driving home a snotty girl definitely wins over watching another of Steve's movies." You laughed slightly, greatful for Sam's attempts to cheer you up. Sam beamed as he glanced at you, "how does me and you and some Christmas movies with a shit ton of food sound to cheer you up?" You smiled and looked at Sam, "that sounds lovely." When you had arrived back at the compound, Sam had told you to go and get showered and change into comfy pyjamas whilst he got some food ready and you couldn't muster the strength to disagree when that sounded perfect. You walked into your room, freshly clad in a pair of warm joggers and an oversized tshirt, feeling a lot more relaxed about the situation, knowing a Christmas spent with 3 of your favourite people would be amazing and that you would see your family very soon. Sam knocked on your door when you were finding a pair of fluffy socks, one of his hoodies in hand. "Thought you might want one of these, I know you steal my hoodies when you think I'm not looking." You felt heat rise to your face, embarassed but taking the hoodie none the less, knowing the cozy fabric and relaxing smell would calm you. "Thanks." You replied, making Sam grin. "Foods ready, where did you want to have it?" He asked, watching you tug the hoodie on. "Oh uh if you don't mind my bed is looking really inviting right now." You replied, tugging on the ends of the hoodie's arms. "Sure thing." Sam winked at you before walking in the direction of the kitchen. Your heart fluttered at the gesture and you shook the thoughts out of your head as you scooted under your bed covers and sat up against one side of the headboard. Not 5 minutes later, Sam returned, quesadillas and popcorn in hand, grinning at your swamped form in the bed. "Oh you're a godsend." You said as he handed you a plate of your favourite food. Sam chuckled and placed the popcorn on the bedside table. "Do you still want me to join you or do you want to be left alone?" He asked considerately and your stomach jumped at how sweet he could be. "No there's room for you, scoot over here Sammy." He grinned and clambered in bed next to you, his own plate of quesadillas resting on the duvet covering his lap. "So what will it be Elf or the Holiday?" You asked Sam, mouth already full of cheesy goodness. "I don't mind." He said, watching you with so much adoration on his face that if Bucky or Nat had seen him they would have shipped him off to a deserted island so they didn't throw up at the sickening love radiating off him. "the Holiday it will be then. I'm in the mood for some Jude Law." You giggled, taking another bite of quesadilla and grinning at Sam. You continued to watch the movie together, finishing your food and somehow migrating towards each other while sharing popcorn, both of you excusing it as needing to be closer to share the bowl. You were gradually growing more tired, struggling to keep your eyes open as the rollercoaster of emotions you had experienced today had wiped the energy out of you. Sam tensed when he felt your head rest on his shoulder but relaxed when he saw your dozey gaze watching the TV. His body filled with warmth at this moment you were sharing and he dared to put an arm around you, pulling you closer to him so your head was now resting on his chest. He feared he had overstepped the boundary but you made no complaint and placed your hand beside your head on his chest. A small smile flickered across your face as you snuggled into Sam, his warmth washing over you and making you even more tired. Sam watched the credits for the movie roll out and was about to speak to you when he noticed your eyes were closed and your breathing had regulated out. His heart flipped at your sleeping form and he brushed the hair out of your face, turning the TV off and moving to get up. Your hand tightened on his sweatshirt though and a soft grumble came from you, "Dont leave." You mumbled, holding onto Sam. He nodded and scooched down in the bed so you were both comfortably laying down, "Night love." He said, stroking your back soothingly, "Night Sammy." You whispered, falling back asleep. You woke up, surprisingly warm and went to stretch when you felt a hard object in your bed. Your eyelids flickered open to reveal a softly sleeping Sam sprawled out onto your bed, your legs entangled. He looked so peaceful asleep, the creases that often littered his face due to worry smoothed out and leaving him looking even more heavenly. You smiled and went to get up, suddenly feeling an arm tighten around your waist and pull you towards Sam. "Where do you think you're going love?" He murmered, voice deep and laced with sleep. Your heart pounded and you looked at Sam who still hadn't bothered to open his eyes. "It's Christmas morning Sammy." You said, laying with his arm draped over your stomach. "Exactly- Buck and Steve won't arrive for another 3 hours yet so we can cuddle for longer." Sam replied, eyes opening to look at you, a smile cheekily spreading onto his face. "What-no-" You started, not understanding Sam's reasoning at all. He closed his eyes and tightened his grip on you, moving so he was closer to you as he was lying on his front. "Just shut up and cuddle me." He said, smirking as he already nuzzled into your side more. You gave up, knowing you really didn't want to pass up the free offer to cuddle your favourite avenger for a bit longer. Maybe Christmas without your family wouldn't be so bad after all.

a/n: i absolutely adored writing this! this was a recent request but i just had to write it now. im a sucker for hyunjin afterall.

summary: Your first real fight in your six years of relationship and you both lost control over your words. You confront each other, exchanging statements more painful than the next. It wasn’t until somebody breaks that the both of you realized the impact of your harsh words towards each other.

“Can you not see, y/n? He was fucking flirting with you!” Hyunjin screamed, his veins visible as his voice echoed in your dark living room apartment.

“He wasn’t, Hyunjin. You’re exceptionally delusional today.” You fought back, frustration growing over you.

It wasn’t always this way. This was the first time there was ever a misunderstanding between the two of you. You both had never been in this situation causing you two to lose control over the words you exchanged with one another.

What happened anyway?

The day before, you had notified Hyunjin about a work dinner you were invited to. As being the only female in your team, Hyunjin’s concerns grew, worried that something bad would happen to you. You tried to reassure him, explaining that your coworkers never saw you that way but Hyunjin didn’t buy it. He was the only guy he trusts being around you alone and of course, you being alone with six other men not only pissed him off but was highly jealous as well.

“Hyunjin, do you not trust me?” You stare into his eyes, hoping it would ease his worries. You weren’t used to him being so tensed and you only thought that it was something that would easily pass.

“Y/N, they’re guys. I-” He failed to complete his sentence, not wanting to speak for the worse. “I don’t know.”

You reached for his hand, squeezing it to calm him. “I know you’re worried, love but trust me okay? I know what I’m doing.”

He nods but his face was still dimmed. You knew he was only agreeing for your sake but you grasped his discomfort in the situation.

“Why don’t you come with, love? I bet they won’t mind. You can come join after you finish up in the studio tomorrow.” You suggested, waiting for his approval.

His face lit up at your idea, his worries slowly disappearing before him. He looks back at you, his eyes gleaming with approval. “That would be great.”

You and your coworkers make your way to the newly opened barbeque restaurant nearby. You texted your boyfriend as you guys settled down.

“Love, we’re here. We’ll order now but come text me when you’re on your way so your food won’t be cold once you get here.”

“I’ll be coming now, don’t worry. Practice ended earlier than usual.”

“Okay. See you then :)”

You ordered for the two of you. Six years of knowing the boy, you had no trouble finding what he wanted from the menu. One of your coworkers interrupted your thoughts.

“Y/N, you’re boyfriend is coming right?” he asked, distributing the utensils around.

You nod. Suddenly the front door rang, indicating that a new customer entered in which you assumed was your boyfriend. You look back, only to be disappointed that it was only the team leader from the other division of your company. You continue to greet him, regretting your eyes made contact with his.

He goes for the spot in between you and your other coworker, the spot you wanted to reserve for Hyunjin.

“I-” You wanted to tell him though he only interrupted you.

“Y/N, right? Pleased to meet you. I’m Jeno, head of the managing team.” He stretched out his hand which you shook with no problem.

Moments later, Hyunjin arrives. He gives you a soft nudge, placing a soft kiss on the top of your head before taking the seat on your left.

“Happy to meet you all. I’m Hyunjin, y/n’s boyfriend.” He delivered a smile before taking a seat.

“Ah, wasn’t this a company meeting,” Jeno beside you bantered.

You let out an awkward laugh, “My coworkers said it was fine.”

You felt a poke from your left, “I thought there were only six guys in your team?” His voice was stern, sounding offended from Jeno’s joke.

“He just came, I don’t know. He’s from another division but he’s still in the company.” You whispered back.

The night continued with no problems. The table stuffed themselves, conversing about work and Hyunjin’s job. Things started to change once the alcohol started to kick in.

“So, you’re a choreographer huh?” Jeno asked your boyfriend.

Hyunjin nodded, “Why?” He noticed the small smirk Jeno had while asking him, irritated at his mocking tone.

“I don’t know. It’s rare for choreographers to make money around here. I just feel bad-”

“Jeno.” You interrupted him, noticing Hyunjin’s discomfort.

“What? I’m just saying.” He takes a look at you, “You could do better.”

Hyunjin was enraged. He was starting to get impatient, your grip was the only thing stopping him from landing a punch.

“Love,” you whispered to your boyfriend. “He’s drunk. Let him go.”

“You’re a lucky guy. Every guy in our company has probably wanted to go out with y/n at least once.” He chuckled.

Hyunjin snickered at Jeno’s comments, containing his anger as much as he could. “Oh I know I’m lucky,” he replied, squeezing your hand.

You smiled back at him, proud that he was able to keep his outrage in.

“Girls like settling down at this time, right y/n? Guess he can’t do that for you right now huh?” His comments aggravated your boyfriend. Had you not been there, you know Hyunjin won’t back down.

“Please stop talking. You don’t know him to say that.” You defended your boyfriend once more.

“Shut the fuck up.” The boy behind you exploded, his eyes focused on the boy on your right. You held him back before he could attempt to stand.

“Hyunjin- calm down.”

“That fucker is trying me.”

“I think it’s time to go.” You stood up, pulling Hyunjin with you. You felt a grip around your right arm.

“Aw, don’t be a party pooper y/n.”

Your coworkers saw the tension in the situation. Hyunjin grew furious at Jeno’s hands clutched around yours.

“Don’t fucking touch her.” He removed Jeno’s hand from your arm, almost scratching your arm.

You flinch back, retracting your arm back to your chest, looking annoyed both at Jeno and Hyunjin.

You pull Hyunjin with you to leave, your coworkers pulling Jeno back before making the situation any worse.

Upset, you both left in a hurry. You entered your dark apartment, furious as you threw your coat on the living room chair. You ran your fingers through your hair, visibly disquieted about the situation. Hyunjin had watched you, not knowing how to respond to the situation.

“I told you to let him go, didn’t I?” Your voice targetted the boy, raged at his actions earlier.

“You’re mad at me? He was shaming our relationship, y/n” He defended himself, surprised that you weren’t taking his side.

“I told you, he was drunk, Hyunjin. You just made the situation worse. How am I gonna face him at work-”

“You’re concerned about that over us? Me? Y/N, are you saying you agree with him?”

“No, of course, that ‘s not what I meant.” You admit you lost control over your words. “This job is just important to me, Hyunjin. You know that.”

“He was flirting with you while me, your boyfriend, was beside you.” He quietly muttered, barely enough to be heard.

“He was drunk. I doubt he knew what he was doing.”

He chuckled, clearly annoyed at your response.

“How dare you-” He choked back at your words, his heart beating faster as his anger grew. “Was it because he said I couldn’t settle down? Are you ashamed because of that? Did you agree with him?”

“I never said that, Hyunjin. Stop putting words into my mouth. I defended you when he said.that-”

“I wasn’t.” You exclaimed. “I’ve never been ashamed of you.”

“Then why does it seem like you’re taking his side?” He disputed, his fingers running through his disheveled hair.

“I’m not- I’m just disappointed you acted that way.”

“Are you fucking serious, y/n? Any boyfriend would act the way I did. It’s you that I’m disappointed with. Sitting there, letting him talk to you like that as if I wasn’t there.”

“What are you indicating, huh, Hyunjin? That I was letting him hook up with me?”

“Were you not? Seemed like I was the only thing stopping you-”

“Oh, fuck you.” Tears streamed down your face as you made your way to your bedroom, furiously shutting the door behind you.

You were aghast at his response. How could he think that way, you thought. You wished he wasn’t so blunt, it broke you that he could assume such a thing.

Hyunjin was appalled at his words. Regretting it the moment he said them but his body was too in shock to stop you from leaving. He hated himself for saying such a thing, knowing he unintentionally called out one of your insecurities against you. He felt awful, both wanting to give you space and wanting to run to you.

He makes his way over to your door, hearing faint sobs from the other side. It shattered him to hear you like this and even worse, it was because of him. He didn’t mean to make the situation so severe, he really just couldn’t see past Jeno’s actions as easily as you wanted.

He gently knocks, hoping you’d hear them through your sobs.

“Y/N, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean what I said. I was too angry to think, I’m sorry.” He crouched outside your bedroom door, awaiting an answer.

As you soak your bedsheets, your mind was bombarded with numerous thoughts all at once. You realized that you also needed to apologize. He was right, you couldn’t stop Jeno from making those comments about you. You were too worried about your job and keeping Hyunjin calm that you were too inattentive to his flirty remarks that seemed to upset your boyfriend. You were sorry. You saw the Hyunjin’s dark figure from the crack between the door the floor.

You made your way towards the door, gently opening it. You were greeted by Hyunjin’s body crouched down, his head tucked into his chest. You didn’t know if he was crying but you’ve rarely seen him this vulnerable. You place your hand on his back, rubbing it in circles and could faintly hear his sniffling.

“I’m sorry too. I was too angry to understand it from your perspective.” You explained. “I shouldn’t have tried to fight back. I realize he made you uncomfortable because of his actions towards me. I’m sorry.”

He lightly lifts his head, tears blurring his pupils. He promptly pulls you in, wrapping his arms around you as he stores his head in the crook of your neck.

“I’m so sorry y/n. I had no idea why I said that.” His voice muffled but enough to be discerned.

“No, Hyunjin. It’s my fault too. I’m sorry.” You wrapped your arms around him too, gently placing soft strokes on the top of his hair. “I don’t like this. I don’t like fighting with you.”

“Me too.” The boy responded, “I always want to be on your side.”

“I’m sorry for not taking your side. You were right. I hate that I did that.” You replied.

His embrace was warm but strong, assuring your frail body that you would never be in harm’s way when you’re with him. Time stopped and the world around you ceased spinning, melting away as he gently squeezes you tighter, wanting to hold you even longer.

He felt you shift but restricted you from moving any further.

“Let’s stay a bit longer like this please, love?”

You hummed in approval, feeling him smile as he places a delicate kiss on the side of your neck.

Maybe it was when he’d constantly cling all over you just to piss him off then pull the best friend card as soon as your boyfriend cornered him alone??? Maybe it was when he secretly got with the head cheerleader he knew you hated just to make you jealous

I will add all requested one shots to this post from now on.

NEW RULE FOR REQUEST’S:

Lately I tried to write requested fics and lost inspiration. Some have 3000 words, guys - too many details kill my creativity.

If you describe the whole smut scene it breaks the flow. I simply rewrite the already written words to form sentences which make sense and this doesn’t make sense at all.

Please shorten the requests for one-shots. It’s okay to give me important details like: virgin reader or rough sex, maybe a specific position or a funny exclaim. You can always give me IMPORTANT details about plot.

Requests up to 300 (if it has 350-400 it’s okay too) words are fine - bigger requests won’t be accepted any longer...Sorry, but I’m struggling to reread a 3000 words request as rereading means getting bored and this means I can’t write...

JensenxReader(6season spn)when they had discussed because she’s pregnant and don’t want to quite the acting job on spn(she’s a main role)but jay want her to stay home in Austin with the baby so they have a really bad discussion so she call Jared(she’s a sister to him she’s younger than him and jay) to stay the nigh at his and gen place because Jensen scared her how much angry he was, when Jared arrives see the tension and this is the first time they have a discussion so bad ... 12... before going with Jared she tell Jensen he know when he decided to be her first only guy(jay take her virginity) and when he asked to marry her that she would never quite the job because she’s not the girl who wait home for the man to make money and that he loves that most of her, when she go to Jared place she breaks in gen arms crying all night and talking with her and jar , the next days her Jared and Jensen have to flight for a con, and her and jay still not talking ... 3... she’s with sunglasses for hiding the tears and when they arrives to the hotel full of fun and photographers jared see that Jensen still act like a ass and Jared go to her sliding a arm around her waist to keep her safe from the yelling and the press, in the motel room her and Jensen don’t talk and when it’s time for dinner with the cast and Jared Kim and briana go to take them reader say she’s not coming to dinner and Jensen just lock at her when the girl pleading her to come ... 5... she tell that the baby is agitated and she’s vomiting since they arrives in the room and she want to feel better for the panel tomorrow, so Jensen say the others to go when he see her discomfort and she tell him to go to dinner because his presence right now give her more bad than good so he just leave (he have tearing eyes) before going always Jared kiss her forehead and the girl smile at her. When jay returns she’s already asleep only with boxer with his T-shirt showing the bump ... 6... he smile caressing the bump and kissing her forehead he go to sleep next to her, the next morning when he wake up she’s already down with Jared eating breakfast and jay reaches them on the way to the panel Jared keep stay besides her while Jensen walk talking with the other people of the cast. At the panel of the three everyone can see and sense something of since jay and her are not stuck together like the inseparable they are, when awkward question comes Jared resolve the situation ...7... when a fan ask her if she will stay on spn after the baby is born she look first at jay who’s is clanging is jaw while Jared his squeezing her shoulder she that’s a decision she will take with her husband and that sometimes we have to do sacrifice for the one we love, but for her it will be difficult being away of Jensen and having to do the bath, put the baby to bed without him by her side and that being able to rest on the show for her means going to be in jens arms at the end of the day 8... and now she’s literally crying and Jensen try to compose himself and he stand up to go to her hugging her and when she whispers in his ears she need air Jensen tell Jared to ask to end the panel, when Jared tell it’s been a stressful day for they little pregnant girl the fan understands, and this time when they have to walk back to the hotel for dinner Jensen have is arms on her waist keeping her close to him, and at dinner the cast see how the two just sits hands in hands 9 ... jensen arm on her shoulder whispering in her ear with her blushing,Jared joking with reader and Jensen.
