An homage to Tears for Fears

The Sun King and The Fish Out of Water-

They are the sun and the sea and a more perfectly balanced, truer friendship has never existed. They are Roland and Curt. RolandandCurt. RolandandCurt. Tears for Fears. Playing acoustic guitars and rockin 'concerts until the day is done. Laughing and smoking and singing until the early morning light, together forever. They’re sitting in a booth at a diner one day and Curt taps a straw against the salt shaker in a beat and Roland starts to sing a tune and Curt harmonizes and soon they’re off, creating and laughing, loving, living. And Curt loves to dance and Roland really can't but that doesn't stop them, twirling around the studio together, heads tilted back in laughter and they upset Manny’s cup of coffee and ruin a bunch of sheet music but who can be mad because its Roland and Curt. RolandandCurt. RolandandCurt. Creating and laughing, loving, living. 

But what happens when the sun sets and the tide goes out? 

It is lonely in the studio. No Tears for Fears. No Curt. Only Roland remains, strumming his guitar, but hes too mad, too fucking angry at Curt because how could he leave just leave him? And the guitar ends up shattered on the floor but its okay because its not his favorite one anyway. No. That one hangs on the wall. Untouched. 

And Roland screams. He screams and wails and kicks the floor and the wall and he pounds all his anger and rage and sadness into the keys and soon a song is created but its not one like the others. Its not sweet and its not soft and most of all it doesn't have Curts rich tenor singing along. Roland rips the paper to shreds. But he is still so angry. And he writes songs and hides behind fake smiles but hes not happy. Not really. And after a rough night at a bar, and an altercation with a man who asked him where Curt was and why he wasn't with him anymore, Roland stumbles into the studio, a little tipsy, but with an idea. And its been so long since hes written but the words come at him so fast, almost pouring onto the page and the melody is like a bath, almost drowning him with intensity and soon he has a full album, but it seems to be missing something. 

So Roland carefully lifts his acoustic guitar off the wall and sits down on his couch. And he starts slow, strumming gently until a tendril of notes seem to reach for him. So Roland plays and he sings. And slowly, a song forms. An angry song to some, but really a plea from Roland. Only four years pass when he gets an answer. And for the first time since he was left, abandoned, Roland feels his smiles are not as forced. 

The reunion is tentative, slow. But Roland hasn't smiled so much since Curt left and somehow he knows his friend feels the same. His laughter is light, easier and Curt swears he hasn't enjoyed himself this much in so long. The unspoken words hang between them but neither speak. They just smile at the other. And it isn't long before they slip back into their old routine, united and brothers again.

Harvey telling the farmer it's their time for the annual check up before knowing them for a year is always funny to me. But the fact I keep drawing Asmodeus♡ with a big mouth and fangs made me read the dialogue more like "that's scary, please stop" rather than "okay onto the next part".

Anyway, I have never drawn Harvey before so please enjoy my attempt. (gives him a lil gray. as a treat. to me. the gray is for me.)

Day 21/October 21: Day of the Departed || Reminisce (??)

GRAHH ITS STILL THE 21ST SOMEWHERE i’m apparently using morrotober to try new things this one’s a new lineart brush that i’m sorta warming up to and the POSE and the BACKGROUND and the LIGHTING i’m surprised i finished this at all tbh. and also new morro design

bg lineart and sword vs neither plus the green ghost fog thing i do basically if you zoom in really really close the lines aren’t smooth on the lineless bgs but icba the pedestal can be chipped or something. i kinda like without the sword and fog cause it gives him a more isolated feel yk (that was my original idea lmao)

Geneuary prompt Mermaid / Magical

People I can not tell you how happy I am with how this one turned out >w<

I'll be honest... I forget today was prompt day XD I didn't find out until I saw @golden--doodler post (beutiful drawing by the way)

And talking about golden doodler thanks her for this one cause I was actually not gonna post anything for mermaid XD for real I decided to let 2 prompt out for different reasons and this was one of them.

I didn't know what I wanted to draw on this one, magical was too general for my brain and mermaid was the one that caught my attention the most. But didn't know what I wanted to do with it.

But then golden made me think in the Little Mermaid, and Gene and Rudy been Little Mermaid fans, and they bonding over the Little Mermaid, and this practically drew by itself... and I had to add a jelous Louise, cause I have to.

Gene is always stealing his mans, first Bob and now Rudy XD (Spaghetti Western and Meatballs reference) (of of my fav episodes)

So yeah.

Did I color it this way cause I had short time? Actually no, which made me very proud.

I really envisioned like this, since I made that Jimmy Jr x Zeke piece (you youngsters say Jimmy Jr/Zeke) I wanted to do something similar... if you dont know about what drawing am I talking about thats alright is a little old 😅

But yeah, really like this one, could be my actual fav, if I do say so myself (see I do one nice thing and it goes straight to my head 🙄)

Oh and the text is in spanish cause this is from my childhood memories and as a child if I heard the smallest word in english I would burst into tears... I was englishfobic as a child. The irony.
