uhhhh ok i feel like i wanna explain the multiple doctors thing JKGJFKF how do u not know this.......,,, no matter! i will. explain >:] so there's one Person. the doctor ys? they are an alien from a planet very far away. it has two suns is very pretty. also its destroyed rn but thats a whole storyline i Don't want to get into. also their species (the timelords) treated them horribly so they have an attachment to earth and humans because we are :] nicer :]

um so because they can't keep one actor being the doctor like . forever. its going to have its 60th anniversary next year so like. they couldn't have stayed kgkgjfkfj. they give each one like 3 seasons roughly? and a few christmas specials etc etc and then the doctor regenerates into a new incarnation of themselves. they can't control Anything about this which is a uhhhhhh .genetic defect because the rest of the timelords Can. or could. they're sorta dead. lol. but because the show started 60 years ago + some of the older writers are a mix of racist and misogynistic, historically the doctor has been played by a bunch of white men. BUT . when the doctor regenerated on screen for the 12th time (going into the 13th incarnation) here we start winning . the first female doctor!!!!! the backlash was stupid misogynistic and literally so bad that ppl Stopped watching. also they complained that the writing was shitty which was kinda fair but also !! u can live a little. maybe shitty writing is how we stay grounded. i love my shitty little show with its bad special effects. gimme a tardis sound and ill go insane for a month im a simple guy. BUT ANYWAY first female doctor. (she's my favourite btw. and then after her its nine :])

> Alright gonna get mildly into it for a second, the clone wars really gets into it with episodes like this, displaying how the entire galaxy was starting to lose faith in the Jedi and their peacekeeping ways, in the movies we just got that people just started hating the Jedi because they became part of the war, but this really fleshes it out and shows just how slowly and gradually the loss of faith is. Because he’s right, the Jedi aren’t peacekeepers anymore, they bring as much destruction with them that the separatists do and have become symbols of war. They’re fighting for a good reason yes, but they can no longer claim that they are peacekeepers or that they played no role in this war.

(this isn’t 100% accurate cuz I’ve decided to include shows that are still airing and they may move up or down on the list once they’ve finished airing. Shows with multiple seasons/spin-offs will be counted as one unless I decided that they’re too different to be in one rank. And lastly, I don’t dislike the shows that are low on the list—unless I explicitly say so—I’ve just watched a shitload of dramas, so don’t attack me if ur fave is at 26 or smth lmao)

except there’s one episode where it’s brought to the table called Shnitzel’s Crush or some corny shit and it’s 11 minutes of the other characters mercilessly embarrassing him

also he literally never says a word about it to her. the whole time. hes silent. he just likes to give her a hand and help her with errands here and there. like carrying the heavy stuff for her stand n whatnot. she thinks hes this big sweet fella so she gives him presents sometimes

hey its me again wall of text sorry not sorry

k i saw your little treatise justifying zadr and yknow its a cartoon its not the worst thing ever of course nobody is gonna sue you for reblogging fanart or burn you at the stake or w/e and im glad you decided to open yourself up to a differing opinion but zim IS portrayed as an adult. there was even an unfinished episode where zim’s childhood and growing up training from start to finish would be shown so by the time of the pilot he is definitely a full grown developed adult by irken standards especially if hes a former member of an elite military force like the invaders. jhonen has said that the irony and sad comedy of zims character is that hes a grown ass man and a war veteran to boot who VOLUNTARILY goes to an elementary school every day and throws hands with an 11 year old boy who should be well below his notice because he’s that pathetic and desperate for validation that he’ll stoop to seeking it from a child. it also sets up a dynamic between them where dib is CHALLENGED by having to go up against an adult with way more experience than him while dib is just a child, so when he wins its more meaningful, which is a common trope in childrens fiction that an underdog young hero has to take down a powerful adult villain.

jhonen might joke a lot but he’s serious about this part of the characterization of zim and dib and he even went to great lengths to make dib look and act more like a kid in ETF (more emotional and naive, designed to look smaller/softer, going in depth with his relationship to his dad and sister and needing his dad to protect him at the end when he’s too overrun to fight alone) just to drive home the point of how young he is. it was a very deliberate move and jhonen knows what hes doing ESPECIALLY since he also left zim pretty much unchanged and also includes gags about zim’s relative maturity like animating him briefly grimacing because his joints are sore and the part where he pretty much gestures to his crotch and goes “theyre afraid to look at ALL-A THIS”. like you would not see jhonen do that sort of joke with an underage character ok. dont confuse his social awkwardness and self deprecating/trolling humor for not knowing the difference between right and wrong and not acknowledge when he means something sincerely because he doesn’t just clown on people and troll ALL THE TIME 24/7 hes a human, and times have changed with more awareness on issues such as the grooming of minors so he can go back on things he may have said in the past that he doesn’t agree with now or said by mistake. he has said enough times that zim is older than any human alive that its safe to take his word for it by now. judging by the one strip he did in JTHM about johnny murdering a pedophile who was about to prey on squee i think his stance on protecting kids is pretty clear. also i wouldnt put it past jhonen to have redesigned membrane to be more chaddy looking to divert the adult fandom’s attention away from dib and throw the fangirls a bone but thats a whole nother can of worms lol.

and the justification that zim is immature so hes essentially on dib’s level is a reversal of something lots of kids hear from either creepy or ignorant adults who tell them theyre “so mature for their age”. no matter how emotionally mature you are it wont ever compensate for the number of years youve been alive so that’s not very sound logic, and even in fic where theyre both adults it’s still pretty weird because it doesn’t erase their history where zim knew dib as a kid. that’s sort of like a grownup waiting with bated breath until a kid is “legal” so they can start dating. kinda like when jacob imprints on bella’s newborn daughter in twilight then having it handwaved away by saying he’ll wait till she’s grown up, which understandably drew a huge amount of criticism. it’s a loophole that might be mildly acceptable in some cases but the context leaves it colored with a residual ickiness that sets off some red flags for me and a lot of other people.

also you said zim is an alien and therefore the situation itself is unrealistic, but the reason invader zim’s writing resonates with people is because zim is written with very HUMAN emotions and motivations and part of the humor again is how irkens despite being aliens from another planet mirror some of humanity’s worst flaws such as being petty, gluttonous, willfully ignorant, arrogantly believing they are special and better than everyone else, easily manipulated by propaganda, all too eager to greedily colonize other societies etc making them not so different from us at all. so the premise out of context might not seem realistic but the idea of a sad burnout adult who doesn’t realize how humiliating it is to be consistently outsmarted by a kid less than half their age IS realistic and applicable to human interaction since we’ve likely all met someone like this before at one point in our lives for example a schoolteacher who has a personal vendetta against one or more of their students and has nothing better to do than antagonize them, or a really dumb parent that you fight with a lot.

another thing, i know you and other fans probably have a lot of sentimental value and nostalgia attached to zadr because you probably shipped it back when you were a kid yourself and you cant be blamed for something you liked as a kid, but youre an adult now, and you have to listen to the portion of kids in the fandom who dont like zadr and say without question that the age gap makes them uncomfortable. those kids ARE the priority. we’re grown up now and we have to put our feelings aside for them because that’s part of being responsible and mature. i feel like zim himself is a pretty good example of how not to act at our age [shrug emoji]

and anyway a lot of the same elements of zadr can be explored with zadf just as well with just as much potential for cute moments and as a bonus is it’s not creepy

You do bring up some good points, and I’m not saying you’re wrong...  But honestly I’m still not convinced.  I mean, stuff that Jhonen said, the thing is even if it’s the author saying it it’s still outside of canon, that’s the reason why Neil Gaiman got flack for Good Omens because they didn’t write an actual kiss or hug or hand-hold between Aziraphale and Crowley yet Neil Gaiman went on Twitter saying they were queer representation.  I still don’t really put much stock into what he says because the unfinished episodes and Jhonen’s commentary don’t really change the dynamic that’s actually in the show.  And again...Jhonen said if there were going to be romance in the show it would be Zim/Gaz, so he’s either a huge hypocrite or doesn’t view Zim as being incompatible with Gaz.

I do think it’s much better when Dib is an adult and it just makes more sense, and I actually do prefer zadf to zadr and if i were going to ever write fanfiction or make fanart it would probably just be zadf, just because i know this does have some stuff to think about and I totally respect that you have a different view of it, but i honestly just don’t see it that way.  The analogy with Jacob imprinting on Bella’s child in Twilight isn’t really the same thing honestly.  The author in that situation tried to make it not......that....by saying that imprinting isn’t always a romantic relationship thing, and that Jacob would be more of an older brother, but honestly that doesn’t really negate the impact of grooming that kid would have with Jacob around.  The idea that Zim would somehow be grooming Dib seems really silly to me although you’re right, I think his characterization in Into the Florpus has evolved somewhat especially with regard to Dib wanting to get his father’s approval, but again Zim has parallels with that in trying to please the Tallest.  the world-building and characterizations are inconsistent and scattershot at best.  Like no, zim isn’t waiting for him to turn legal, that’s absurd, they’re nemeses coming at each other then learning to be friends.  You’re right that that doesn’t have to be zadr but I still tag it as zadr so people can block it if they want to.

Like, I’ve seen people ship Zim with Professor Membrane instead of Dib.  That seems very weird to me.  that professor membrane would have a relationship with someone who literally goes to his son’s elementary school and who doesn’t know anything at all about human behavior and emotions.

I feel like with this discussion people don’t really understand the problem with age gaps. With age gaps, it’s not a matter of mature/immature, it’s about development.  A ten year age gap sounds like a lot right?  a 25-year-old and a 15-year old would absolutely have a predatory “relationship.”  But a 35- and a 45-year old, that’s perfectly fine.  Having a difference in age doesn’t automatically make the relationship unhealthy.  so if Dib is 25 and Zim is [whatever the hell aliens years i still don’t really take Jhonen’s word for it bc he’s not consistent], that’s doesn’t mean it has to be bad.  The thing about telling minors they’re “so mature for their age” to try and convince them that a person interested in them isn’t a pedophile is that we know a human being who is 15 isn’t developmentally at the same level as a 25-year-old regardless of their behavior.  What is Zim?  All we have to go on is how he acts, and he acts like Dib is an equal match, it’s not “he’s immature for his age,” it’s very unclear.  Raw number of years isn’t the ultimate decider, for example in DnD lore elves reach maturity at, like, 100 years old so a 25-yo human trying to get with a 50-year-old elf would be predatory to the young elf even though the “younger” one is technically twice as old as the human.  Do you see what I’m saying?

I also don’t really buy the idea that Invader Zim’s writing resonates with people because Zim is ~~so human~~.  The guy steals a bunch of kid’s organs in one episode and flies into a tantrum over the slightest inconvenience.  You have to be reading really deeply into it and dig into some old internet archives of things Jhonen Vasquez has said to paint it as realistic.  You can do some interesting things with it wrt like, Zim being defective and starting to experience human emotions but that’s mostly fanon.

Well, you’ve given me some things to think about, thanks for explaining your side to me.  I’m still going to tag things as #zadr so people can block if it can’t plausibly be categorized as zadf.  I’m not actually making any fan content for Invader Zim so the point is kind of moot, but if I ever do I’ll definitely take this into consideration.

i remember picking out dongpyo, donghyun and hyeongjun as my faves from those first pictures that came out...

and i remember how i found the ep1 live stream on youtube and just wanted to watch a super small part - and i turned it on right at starship’s performance. and i was so heartbroken at hyeongjun performing so poorly because he looked so cute, but he fought back!! and he did so well and came in 4th (!!!!!) place! i love him

and i remember how i first saw donghyun and thought “ah! he looks a lot like donghyun from season 2!” and then i was gonna write down his name and..... wait a second

now that i look back at my list i wrote in the beginning with trainees to look out for...... im shook

i wrote down song hyeongjun, ham wonjin, don dongpyo, lee eunsang, lee wonjun (ah bby :/ ), keum donghyun, nam dohyun, kim yohan, cho seungyoun, kim sihoon and yoon junghwan

8/11 were in the top 20, 6/11 got into the final lineup and the others are hella talented and were eliminated too early

but i guess overall i’m satisfied with the outcome?? like i would’ve wanted wonjin and donghyun in it but i’m not too bothered tbh. it’s alright

i would’ve wanted jinhyuk and wooseok to change places bc i think jinhyuk would bring more to the group, him placing 14th is bullshit

the most saddening thing tho is that the starship boys are all split up now for 5 years so we probs won’t see a starship boygroup now for another 2.5 years so bye guys

My 14x09 Opinion

The Spear Not the best mid season finale, but it wasnt bad. I dont have any critical complaints, though, I think it just lacked impact because I could see it coming. I love trying to guess where the story is going, but I like being surprised even more. I did maintain that I thought Michael was still posessing Dean and it would come to be that Sam and co would have to try to get him out without hurting Dean, and though Mike didnt posess Dean the whole time, he was apparently still getting in Deans head (ie the dizzy spells) I did however love that Sam tells Jack the Cookie cereal will rot his teeth out. With the amount of “dont tell Sam” requests and Dean and Cas getting permission from Sam to do things with Jack, I feel like its clear that Sam is the head of that household, and not just another Dad, but.... maybe “The Mom” (snicker) now, Im not trying to feminize Sam, I cant stand when people do that, but I cant deny the “mom” subtext... and in this case, Im fine with it. Being a mom and knowing how tough a job it is, since Jack doesnt have one on Earth, I say Sam fills that role the best. ❤😍🍪 So now Garth... Ive never been a Garth fan, hes always just been a prop to keep an episode from getting too serious, but in this case, he got serious... and Im happy with that. Im beginning to think maybe Dabb doesnt like characters stuck in “silly” roles. I dont either. I dont mind humorous characters, but I mind when episodes are wasted on light comedy and Dabb seems to have removed that from such characters, like Donna, Charlie, and now Garth.  Im sure they can still be silly, but Im glad he showed they can be serious as well.  I saw y’all whining over the assumption there would be a big Destiew scene, but there wasnt. That wasnt anything near some deep heart to heart confession about comparing Deans posession to Sams or Cas’s, Dean has been much more open and emotional about it to Sam thus far.So he talks a little about it to his friend. BFD. And Cas and Dean going off one way, gave us some good time with Sam and Jack. It wasnt any huge bonding, but I loved how Jack mustered up the strength to tackle Garth and get him off Sam when he had him pinned. 

I loved the Sam Fucking Winchester badassery just chopping through the monsters to get to Jack. Ive always loved Sams feirceness when it came to Dean, and I am loving it when it comes to Jack too. I might be one of the only Sam girls that isnt offended by Dean having more visible bonding time with Jack lately. Dean is a good guy, and he had a near character assassination last season between how he treated Jack and how he treated Kaia. Its critical to see that hes still a good guy and capable of compassion and kindness. Sam never lost it, we all always knew he has a strong bond with Jack, we didnt need visual reminders.  Now that brings me to Kaia. Let me confess right now, that even though I cant stand the Wayward crap, or Claire, Im glad Kaia has her own story outside of that. I find her interesting honestly, all of the other wayward ones are boring af. I was glad to see Dean didnt use any violence to talk to her... sure he lied kinda, as right now Jack cant open a rift, but he can later maybe, so its not that big of a lie right? However, she’s gonna beat his ass for getting her spear destroyed. Oy!! So now as predicted, Mike has Dean again. This moment at the end was pretty indusive of the feels. The look on Sams face when he looked at the body of his brother, knowing, Dean isnt in controll, and hes lost him yet again... I could see the grief beard regrowing as he stood there. So Mike let Dean go and asked the boys why they never questioned it. Well, they did., several times, so I dont think this is any “forgetting what other writers wrote” but the same thing as when Toni Bevell said the guys had never read a single book. Of course they have, you dont know them nearly as well as you think.  I guess we can keep in our back pockets that all powerful entities may release you if you annoy them enough!! The Empty released Cas because he annoyed him, and Mike released Dean because he annoyed him...Im glad they made sure we saw that Dean is too attached to Sam first and foremost. Sure, he cares for Cas and Jack, but Sam is bae. 💖😍 Side note: Michael’s female vessle looks very familiar, was she the woman in The Purge episode? Anyway, she was very good and super pretty. In conclusion, I wasnt overwhelmed but it was alright. I find whats happening next very interesting so it makes this much more of a cliff hanger. I cant wait to see Sam and Cas in Deans mind, and what kinda shit they may step in. Also what are they gonna do with Garth? Probably lock him in the dungeon till they get this fixed. Theres a lot of crap going on right now, I think the 2nd half will be much more interesting. As is kinda the pattern with this show. But I do need me a brothers only MOTW ASAP. Maybe episode 11? On a scale of Bloodlines to Who We Are Ill give this a 7. No huge complaints, but no surprise Big Reveal either really. But hey! Cas FINALLY healed someone!! Its only been a season and a half!!

6. ... did wwx really need to cut all 400 spirit nets. also the imp look on his face when lan clan gets blamed for that shit. peak chaotic dick energy

7. lwj watching jiang cheng to see if he’ll activate zidian is so tense but also so funny in retrospect like. they really are so angry with each other. also the whole “i heard you’ve been a lot of places this last sixteen years. searching for someone?” line is just rude like come on jiang cheng are you gonna act like you didnt look for his body for so long that it’s part of the legend

8. first silence spell of the show. victim: jin ling. theres that maternal influence he’s been missing. also why is jiang cheng so rude to his nephew like why are you putting down a sixteen year old kid dude. i mean i feel for the guy because he’s had to live with so much for so many years but i thought his takeaway would be “don’t be like my mother” rather than hold up its evil stepmother time

9. wwx in black hiding behind that tree trunk is possibly the dumbest thing he’s done so far. which is impressive considering other things he’s done is throw a tantrum and steal someone’s peanuts by freezing time

I first suspected I was gay when I was 10 or 11, but I was told I was too young to really know and that the way I felt about the other girl was just us being gr8 gal palz, so I accepted that explanation and repressed it for about a decade. Like, it literally didn’t even occur to me that I could be not-straight until I was almost 21.

I spent my teen years feeling really different from my friends who were girls. I was confused when they all started getting boy-crazy because I thought all the dudes they were into were gross. I didn’t see the appeal. The only guys I liked were famous, fictional, or gay - so, all unattainable. Also, none of them were “traditionally masculine.” (They were all tall, skinny, androgynous, and had high-cheekbones, and tbh I was just really jealous because I wanted to look like them because their bodies were the exact opposite of mine.)

I’d get really attached to a lot of my gal pals, and I loved when we would imagine having a future together (”just the two of us! living together! no boyfriends! and we’ll adopt a dog! best friends forever!”), but then I would feel really hurt and betrayed when they would inevitably get boyfriends. I never imagined myself ever settling down, getting married, etc. I only fantasized about living with a gal pal forever.

Also, I was really into LGBTQ+ stuff when I was growing up, probably starting when I was in middle school. I just assumed I was A Top-Tier Ally. I would get really emotionally worked up about LGBTQ+ issues/history even though ~it didn’t directly affect me~, but I was just ~such a good ally~.

Honestly, it wasn’t until I was 20 when I started connecting the dots. I remember watching an episode of The Walking Dead when Tara and Denise kissed for the first time and I literally started tearing up because I was so excited. Suddenly I thought, Why do I feel this way about them kissing? I’ve never felt this way about seeing a straight couple kiss. One of my favorite professors casually mentioned her wife in class and my heart swelled. I had never wanted to get married to a man, but the thought of being married to a woman? Brilliant. This beautiful girl always chose to sit next to me in a big lecture hall for one of our classes, and I was so excited that she always wanted to chat with me. I got butterflies in my tummy when I found out she liked girls because she casually mentioned her ex-girlfriend. She invited me to a party she was hosting but I ended up not going because none of my friends wanted to come along and I was too afraid to go alone, so I spent the entire night in my bedroom crying because I had wanted to spend time with her.

And that was the year that it finally clicked in my head that I loved women and that I had never felt that way about men.
