It’s early on a Tuesday morning that you decide you’re going to tell Peter Parker you like him.

The wind is harsh and cold and cuts right through your thin sweater, making you shiver hard and you reprimand yourself for not wearing warmer clothes, for not checking the weather before leaving for school.

Of course, even a task as simple as that is hard when you wake up minutes before you’re set to leave. You’d been in such a rush this morning that you hadn’t been able to eat breakfast, let alone dress for the weather; though it seems it’s all for naught, seeing as it’s fifteen minutes later and your train has yet to arrive.

You huff out a breath, jumping from foot-to-foot to attempt at warmth, pulling the sleeves of your garment over your hands and clenching them tight, trying to focus on the music flowing through your earphones rather than the freezing cold.

A sudden tap on your shoulder sends you jumping out of your skin, and you whirl around, eyes wide in alarm to face a sheepish Peter, holding up his hands in surrender.

‘Sorry,’ He steps forward, standing beside you and nudging your shoulder. You nudge him back and roll your eyes.

‘You scared me,’

He taps one of your earbuds, a playful grin now taking over his features. ‘Maybe if you didn’t have your music so loud…’ He trails off and you scoff, pulling out the little things and shoving them in your backpack.

‘Says you, Mr. 90-decibels,’ You shoot him a pointed look and he shrugs, running a hand through his hair and you look away quickly, wrapping your arms tighter around yourself as another particularly cold gust of wind blows through the station, hard enough to make your teeth chatter.

‘Are you cold?’ Peter tilts his head to you and you shake your head, puffing your cheeks out and waving him off.

‘I’ll be fine,’

‘Yeah fine in bed with a cold,’ He lets his blue bag slip from his shoulders and begins to unzip his bomber jacket, revealing a baby blue sweater underneath. ‘Here.’

‘What’re you doing?’ You furrow your brows, taking a step back as he shrugs the dark thing off, letting it slide into his hands.

‘Giving you my coat,’ He takes a step towards you, holding the garment out and you take two more back, holding up your hands in protest.

‘No, no, no, Peter,’ You waggle your finger in his face to which he shoots you an incredulous look. ‘You’ll get sick.’

‘Y/N, I’m wearing like three more layers,’ He shoves it at you, the navy fabric shining in the cold morning light and you firmly shake your head again, but your harrowing stance disappears a second later when another blow comes, this time making you stumble forwards into Peter’s shoulder.

He takes that opportunity to swing the coat over your shoulders and pull it tight. The heat of the coat and Peter’s arms still around you, adjusting the thing, is immediate and you instantly relax.

‘Thanks,’ You finally mumble, shoving your arms through the much too long sleeves and zipping it up. Peter returns his bag to his shoulder, simply shrugging before focusing his eyes on your train, barreling towards you in the distance.

You study his profile- sharp jawline, soft hair, crooked nose- and it’s as if in that moment, wrapped up in his coat with his scent filling your nose as you wait together, maybe too close for just friends- your heart decides to become an acrobat and your stomach a gymnast.

And three words dance through your brain, soft and pressing. I like you, Peter.

But your train is pulling up, the rusty wind blowing your hair back far behind you with a whoosh and the squeaking and groan of the wheels filling your ears.

Peter’s hand nudges yours, as the doors creak open and he offers you a soft smile. ‘Ready?’

‘As I’ll ever be,’
