Can't help but imagine that in the Lucky Clover AU, if Frisk were to manage to sneak away and end up befriending Undyne and the skelebros whilst everyone in the Dunes is probably having a panic attack (maybe Flowey caused a distraction or something, like some scaffolding collapsing causing everyone to focus on figuring out how that happened, giving Frisk the ability to sneak away), by the time Martlet finds them they've already managed to make the Underground a bit safer for at least themself.

Doesn't stop them from being grounded though-

That's exactly the plot set up I had in mind for this AU!

Even though Frisk is under very strict rules by Clover to not leave the Dunes without them, Frisk is constantly wandering off (perhaps influenced by a certain someone...) and exploring the other parts of the Underground. This is how Frisk eventually meets Papyrus, Sans, Undyne, Alphys, and others! And yes, Frisk is always grounded by Clover once they're eventually found and brought home. Doesn't stop them from sneaking out again, though. Clover is getting a taste of their own medicine trying to control this kid LOL.

I imagine this would be the kind of situation where you two were near some people that got in a physical altercation and you pulled him back. That kind of unconscious instinct both surprises and Greatly flatters him.

He’ll go all wide-socketed and just look at you like you’ve grown extra eyes.

Once the y’all are away from whatever situation spooked you, he’ll start making little jokes non-stop. It’s terrible.

Sans tries to keep the energy equal in a relationship. Not one-to-one type of stuff where if you do one chore one day he’ll do it the next, as much as if you put in a lot of work he’ll try to treat you or do something that shows that he knows you did it and appreciates it. So now that he knows you’ll jump to his defense at the drop of a hat, he makes it his mission to Not let you do that. He is flattered of course but he just doesn’t want you to get hurt.

In smaller situations where you just got spooked by something he’ll try to calm you down with jokes and puns.

Papyrus

Papyrus is the type of person that will jump to anyone’s defense immediately, so you reciprocating the energy means everything to him.

He doesn’t spook very easy, so you’ll probably be the jumpier person. No matter what gets you, big or small, you just randomly pulling him behind you has him blushing hard enough to glow.

Emotional bioluminescence never works in a skeleton’s favor.

I fear that you don’t realize what you brought onto yourself though.

If you weren’t already, Papyrus is staying up planning you an incredibly detailed workout plan to make sure you are capable in combat.

Red is pretty jumpy himself so his hackles are already raised as he is trying to drag you behind him, but You dragged him back first??? You want to protect Him???

He still wins this nonexistent battle for the right to protect the other, so he manages to get you close to him. Sorry not sorry but Red’s protective instincts are hard to match, let alone beat.

If the situation was severe enough that you two would need to leave, once y’all do he’s all over you. Laughing and joking about how you’re trying to play guard dog.

He does try to check in a make sure you know you can depend on him yada yada. Please reassure him that you know and whatnot.

It’s not that he doesn’t trust you or feels insecure of course—hell one of his many types is strong and forthcoming—he is just also used to being the protector and wants to make sure you don’t burden yourself.

Situationally you have two options: either you startled at something he also recognizes as a “threat” or you jump at something that just happened to scare you. Both of these options end with him looking at you like you are some combination of a deity and an oddly shaped cat. Confusion, wonder, adoration, a touch of horror—you get the picture.

More specifically, for the smaller option he will just straight up ask you wtf, but for the “big threat” option he gloats. Loudly.

for literally any other time where something just makes you jump and you grab him instinctually, he’ll play into it. You should tell him as soon as you can if that’s something you don’t want.

But he will dramatically jump into a fighting stance the second you start to tug him towards you.

He is always ready to defend his human’s honor.

He let’s you drag him back with very little resistance.

In all honesty he finds you jumping to his safety quite amusing, especially if it was from something small that just happened to make you jump and grab him with you.

If there’s ever a situation where you aren’t in immediate danger but near some (like some strangers getting into an altercation) Cash will absolutely allow you to do whatever you want.

He’s never gonna let either of y’all get into real danger, so as long as that doesn’t happen you are free to your instincts to try and protect him.

Hell, you might not even need to grab him with how much he loves to touch or hang off you. No sense of personal space truly.

Fun idea: To keep with the Skelebros' mysterious yet goofy nature, I'll assign the headcanon that they basically have cartoon logic on their side. It lines up with their weird physics breaking/fourth wall smashing abilities anyway, so what's the fuss?

Here are some examples:

Both of them have hammerspace, so they often pull random crap out of their backsides like it's completely normal.

We already know Sans can use offscreen teleportation and Papyrus can "jump" over things.

Both of them have gravity manipulation, so sure they must often use it on themselves too, right? Imagine Sans walking off a cliff like Wile E Coyote and just... walking on air.

"SANS GET YOUR LAZY ASS OVER HERE I'M STUCK IN THE FLOOR AGAIN!!!!!"

If the situation is FUNNY, the two can get hit and crushed by anything and be completely fine (yes, that includes Mr. 1 HP), but if the situation is NOT funny, or moreso, if they're confronted by a human, they can be hurt and killed, obviously. Rule of Funny, basically.

Bursting out in little songs isn't that uncommon for them, and neither is changing the environment around them to match the song. Papyrus having Disney Princess vibes has taken over my mind for this one.

Why can they do this? Well, there's the "sciencey, playing with magic stuff" idea I proposed in another post, but then again, there are so many theories. Then again, I guess it's all just bullshit. Yup. It's just Skelebro bullshit. No more questions.

If you want to know, my personal headcanon is that the skelebros lived with their grandpa Semi in Snowdin :] !! In my mind they lived their childhood with Grandpa Semi and he died soon after they reached adulthood, but they were always independent so it didn't affect them much

Aight just a warning I'm pretty new to Tumblr and I'm DEFINITELY new to making AUs so I'm pretty nervous to post anything here but I figured I'd just rip the band-aid off.

FIRST POST HYPE!! :D

Anyways I love Mario and I love Undertale and I NEEDED TO COMBINE THEM LEGALLY so I decided to make an au about it! Dunno if I'm actually going to do anything serious with this, I mostly just want to imagine cute shenanigans with my favorite characters and whatnot, but who knows? Maybe I'll actually try to give this a proper plot

So here's the basic info:

- Mario and Luigi, in the midst of trying to chase down Bowser, who has just kidnapped the princess again, somehow wind up far away from the Mushroom Kingdom and on Mt. Ebott. Where, of course, they fall into the underground.

- All the monsters are pretty much their canon counterparts (at least, my best interpretation of them 💀)

- Mario ends up discovering he has the power to reset/load/save/etc, but Luigi does not. This is because Mario has the most determination to get out of here and save the princess

- Toriel isn't quite as overprotective of them as she would be if they were a literal child like Frisk, but she is still very motherly towards them because it's just kinda who she is. She would probably be concerned about them potentially attacking the monsters so she might make them promise not to hurt anyone. I still don't think she would want them to leave because Asgore would take their souls

- Honestly mostly this is just an excuse for the Mario Bros and the Skelebros to hang out XD

- the thing that is really interesting is that Mario and Luigi are not 1, but 2 humans, which means only one of their souls would be needed to break the barrier. This ends up becoming a real issue but I could see it being resolved in a few ways.

1. one of the bros self sacrifices so the underground goes free (much to the dismay of the other, and also my heart would break haha)

2. They decide to just stay in the underground instead of going home (but they would be pretty sad about it because oh no their kingdom is still in danger

3. ??? IDK tbh

- Since Mario can load saves, he's just constantly in this angsty cycle of trying to keep his bro from getting killed off ;;

- Not sure if Mario could keep the resets secret for long since Flowey would taunt them about it, but he definitely would be pretty closed off about it, especially to Luigi. He does NOT want Luigi to know about the horrible things he's seen

-ofc cut to Luigi being confused as heck as to why Mario seems to already know what's going to happen.

- they have cute sweaters because I said so

- not sure how omega fight would work, but either way Mario would have to fight to save both of them (probably all by himself :c)

- I want them to eventually do true pacifist but IDK how it would work so I'm not gonna think about it too hard rn

- Mario and Undyne having a friendly rivalry about who's the most heroic

- sans trying to convince them they could just stay in the underground and they're like "no we have to save the tiny mushroom people" and he's like "ur just like my bro fr"

- monster speculation about the purpose of mustaches

- It would be kinda funny if they had the firebrand and thunderhand since... Like... Humans aren't supposed to be able to do magic

- "are you sure you're humans? You're so small"

- *confused Italian noises*

Summer on the Surface - Aftertale Fanart

Do you know how hard is to bring a LAZY sibling outside ? Imagine having TWO lazy siblings !! But nothing is impossible for the GREAT Papyrus !!

I changed my drawing software, I still trying to figure how I draw Papyrus and I read Aftertale.

It's just my take on a happy ending on the surface for the Skelebros of Aftertale. Geno is now a twin of Sans, but still a Sans as his core. I thought with the melting thing, he would take precaution to protect his body, but he would try his best to hang out with Papyrus and Sans and be happy.

My two siblings are too lazy to hang out with me or do house chores with me T_T I can't blame them. SUMMER ~

For all that ‘Save Asriel’ fics and AUs used to be super popular, I... don’t remember if Asriels and Papyri in those fics ever interacted with each other? Or acknowledged that Papyrus and Flowey had a pretty close friendship? (Well, you can debate about how close it really was. But Flowey only shows anything approaching fondness towards Papyrus and Toriel, and Papyrus made a whole Flowey fanclub in one reset, apparently. They’re lonely people but seem relatively close with each other.) 

Like, on the one hand I get why. Sans was just more popular, Papyrus and Flowey’s friendship wasn’t very common knowledge, and most people believed Flowey was just manipulating Papyrus. But I was rereading some older fics that use ‘Asriel gets revived’ as a trope and. It’s so disappointing that he and Papyrus act like they don’t know each other or have any special connection? 

Imagine Asriel/Flowey getting anxious about if they really are still friends. He did manipulate Papyrus into bringing the entire Underground to him so he could steal all their souls, so maybe Papyrus no longer cares for him and just wants the popularity associated with being ‘Prince Asriel Dreemurr’s’ friend. Or imagine him choosing to live with Papyrus instead of Toriel or Asgore after being revived, because he feels way less pressure to act like his perfect and unchanged old self if he’s spending most of his time with the skeleton who got to know him as Flowey, and doesn’t remember ‘Asriel’. 

Imagine Papyrus being the one to convince Flowey to leave the Underground, not Frisk, because he’s the first one to notice his friend is missing. And when Asriel/Flowey tries to repeat the same ‘someone needs to take care of the flowers’ line, Papyrus just retorts with ‘That’s what I’m doing!’ He knows flowers do best in the sunshine, and his friend is a flower, so obviously it’d be awful to just leave him down there. 

Imagine Papyrus ‘I’m actually a pretty brutal kind of guy’ ‘Anyone can be a good person if they just try’ TheSkeleton having frank discussions with Flowey for the first time about what Flowey did during the resets, and helping Flowey improve and feel more like himself, without needing a soul. 

Why did the early fandom leave their friendship so under-explored. I demand more ‘Flowey lives on the surface with the skelebros’ fics now. (I mean obviously I’m planning to make some of this content myself but. C’mon. Give these two some damn credit.)

for sans and papyrus, i think the handplates lab is my headcanon for a backstory, but altered.

sans and papyrus were never “aged up” like they were in the comics, so sans was about eight and papyrus was a year old when they escaped. and instead of sans killing gaster, he took papyrus and just fucking BOLTED for an exit. alphys wasn’t involved in their escape, gaster just left a door open by accident.

when they ran, after a few hours of being gone gaster realized they had escaped and began a frantic search of the underground, leaving them with a few close calls of being dragged back into the lab. however sans discovered his ability to teleport and used it well throughout their escape, eventually glitching his magic from overuse and landing them in a snowdrift outside grillby’s. seeing as it was around midnight, they hid by his door and sans frantically tried to keep papyrus warm. in the morning, as you can imagine, being a fire monster in a snowstorm and walking outside to see two hypothermic little skeletons shivering by your door is quite a start to your day, so grillby freaked out when he opened up shop and brought them inside.

when gaster finally stopped searching for them, after weeks, he realized there was no hope. assuming they would tell everyone about his horrific experiments, he jumped into the core and the world forgot about him. he thought it was better that way. in the void, he still does.

the skeletal brothers were taken care of for their first year in snowdin by the shopkeeper bunny and grillby, but since nobody could really afford to adopt or take care of them, they finally were moved into the only open house there was in town— the big cabin at the outskirts of the village. after a little while of getting settled in, papyrus one day while sans was at school decided to take a table saw and cut off his hand plate. he was six, and cut the top of his hand open, but he got the plate off and bandaged it tightly. sans freaked out of course, but after careful consideration he attempted to remove his own.

their hands are horribly scarred from the ordeal, which is why they hide them under gloves, but they both agree— they’re better than the plates.

i might turn this into a fic or comic. depends on what you guys think.
