Rising Stars

I sat in the front row of the auditorium. Today was the Rising Stars talent show. I was in Drama, but I didn't audition for the talent show.

The lights finally dimmed and the show started. I smiled as I saw my best friend, Kate, perform first. The show went on, every one of them showcased excellent talent.

I was getting a little bored. I stood up getting ready to leave, when a lively beat started to play.

“Timmy! Timmy! Timmy! Timmy! Timmy!”

A boy from the classroom next to mine started to rap. He was wearing a pink shirt, white pants, and a black backpack. He had back up dancers.

“It's Timmy Tim, Lil' Timmy Tim, jump! !” I chuckled at his little stage name. He was good, damn. Suddenly, he looked at me. He sent a smile at me, I felt my cheeks burn.

Then, the music slowed. He danced slowly as he took off his pink shirt, a white top underneath and 'Txt Me' painted in front of it in red and a picture of Nicki Minaj in the back. He smirked at me before continuing his performance. His two back up dancers were wearing purple wigs, then he put on a pink wig which made me laugh.

“Say rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon! Say rah, rah like a dungeon dragon! Is this the thanks that I get for puttin' you bitches on? Is it my fault that all of you bitches gone?” Everyone in the audience was cheering for him as he performed Roman's Revenge.

“I-I-I hear them mumblin', I hear them caklin' I got 'em scared, shook, panickin'. Overseas, church, Vatican. You at a stand, still, mannequin. You wanna sleep on me? Overnight? I'm the motherfuckin' boss, overwrite. And when I pull up, vroom, motorbike. Now all my boys gettin' bucked, overbite. I see them dusty-ass Filas, Levi's Raggedsy-ass, holes in your knee-highs. I call the play, now do you see why? These ladies callin' me Manning Eli.” I giggled as he sang using the curse words instead of using 'friendlier' terms. There were parents watching, so it was funnier.

“Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon! Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon! Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon! Like a dungeon dragon, like a dungeon dragon.” He ended the song. I could see the beads of sweat on his forehead. He looked at me and smiled, before taking off his pink wig and dancing to Party Rock Anthem.

I cheered loudly, clapping as hard as I could. He smiled at the crowd before bowing and walking off the stage.

A while later, I went to find Kate, since we live next door to each other.

“Hey, you're the girl in front, right?” A voice called out from behind me. When I looked back, my eyes met his. It was Lil Timmy Tim, or whatever his real name is.

“Uh, yeah.” I chuckled nervously.

“I'm Timothée, or well, Lil Timmy Tim.” He chuckled, reaching a hand out for me.

“I'm Y/n.” I smiled and shook his hand.

“You were cheering loudly, are you a fan?” Timothée joked.

“You were amazing, the best out of everyone who performed.” I smiled, “Such a rising star.”

“Thanks, I appreciate it.” He chuckled. Then there was an awkward silence between us.

“Wanna get a drink? Coffee, maybe? My treat.” He asked, hopefully.

“Sure,” I giggled, “I'll just tell my friend and then we can go.”

“Take your time, angel.” Timothée smiled. I felt butterflies in my stomach, my cheeks felt like burning. I smiled back at him, before walking away to find my friend.

A while later, I saw him by the school entrance, “You ready, angel?”

I smiled, “Ready.”

We walked to a nearby café, talking and laughing. I never knew being a girl in the crowd could lead to the start of something new.

may i introduce you to my discourse tag? especially the posts from 2022, i was going off back then (yes i have regrets). most of my unpopular opinions relate to carlos in some way but an unrelated one is that owen is massively overhated and actually he's a good character. also that 3.13 yes is objectively a great episode but it does boil my PISS i also think that at the start of season 4, carlos doesn't know iris. like, all that advising tk about how to act and telling iris herself that he doesn't believe she's crazy is all bullshit. he hasn't seen her in five years. he doesn't know her.

I just wanted to say that your art absolutely astounds me, it is so beautiful and it inspires me as an artist just seeing it.

I will never stop saying that this kind of message is SO incredibly sweet and it touches me a lot. I can't believe that someone, somewhere is seeing me as an inspiration. I just draw fan art on my living room table with my cat puking from time to time to encourage me so I let you imagine how incredible it is to read this.

Your use of color is stunning and unique

I felt guilty for a long time using so many colors.  I thought that "good artists" (whatever the hell that means) used restricted palettes or at least palettes that made sense but me ? I used too much or everything. Too many colors, too many highlights, too many flares. 🙃 And then, one day, I thought "Fuck it" ! Also, people online telling me that they loved my use of colors was a turning point. I couldn't believe it, it was amazing. 😳

Anyway, I love colors. It doesn't mean that I don't draw in B&W from time to time or that I don't use more desaturated palettes sometimes but I stopped feeling guilty about my art being kitch and "over the top". I mean, look at my favorite artists and inspirations: Pierre & Gilles, Akemi Takada, Chen Shu Fen & Pin Fan, etc...everything is colorful. And detailed too. 🙃 Don't laugh at me but this art was me, trying to draw with less details. I REALLY struggled not to add more details to John and Sherlock's hair.

🫂 A friendship headcanon:

I think Kiibo regularly hangs out with Kaede and Shuichi!! They have a groupchat together where Either Kaede or Shuichi (though usually Kaede) will propose an idea for a hang out to help Kiibo try new things and look for a talent outside of being the Ultimate Robot. It started as a joke between Kiibo and the other two after he complained to them about it once, and now they genuinely go out maybe once a month to do something new and fun!

I also think that Kaede and Kiibo will hang out to do music stuff together. I headcanon that Kiibo wants to be a pop idol, so he gets to practice his singing along to Kaede's music. (This only happens a bit later down the line after LOTS of practice from Kiibo's end though haha)

😶 A random headcanon!:

I think Kiibo has some weird self esteem issues due to basically being a pageant kid for most of his life. Yes, Dr. Idabashi does really love Kiibo and does a good job for the most part in raising him, there is still that element of Kiibo being Dr. Idabashi's invention and a scientific marvel. I imagine he went to a lot of science expositions throughout his life As the thing being presented and that's got to feel very weird and maybe even dehumanizing? I think this is why when you ask Kiibo about himself he immediately starts proudly discussing his different abilities as a robot, not what he likes or what he's interested in. Its also why he can be pretty bashful or even self deprecating in any other context. Its this weird mix of pride and fear of disappointing his father that ends up in him having a weird relationship with his self esteem.

Yuuko, or Yuu, Matsuda, is a reserved and curious person, who constantly speaks to herself out loud and even to others when thinking.
