Headcanon #75
Impidimp are not known for being the most loyal Pokémon. If it has a handler who will not allow it to cause trouble and stir up discord, it will become frustrated and refuse to listen to its Trainer.

Impidimp are known to cause mischief to feed off the negative energy, so an increase in an Impidimp’s usual level of antics can indicate hunger, or if happening over a longer period, that an Impidimp is close to evolution and trying to get as much energy as it can in preperation. When an Impidimp feeds off of a negative emotion, it lessens how intensely the person fed upon is currently experiencing that emotion.

Raising so many Impidimp in fangames from level 5 to level 34 has given me such an interesting insight on what its like to be an impidimp.
Because they are not the strongest at all, and levelling them up is PAINSTAKING, but they rely on tricky to get most of their kills (like, i confuse my opponents then use assurance or sucker punch or rely on flinches, etc etc)
and that is just so... interesting to me, because it really gives the idea that impidimp have to spend a very long time as mere impidimp, basically minions, using tricks to get by, until FINALLY they’re strong enough to be morgrem and then they can actually take what they want by force.
and then for ten more levels youre still a bit of a sneaky thief type, until you become grimmsnarl, and then you’re a fairy lord, and you can just kick ass and take names.
you get what i mean!??! thats so cool

do you know what pokemon there are in northern minnesota? i'm going up there for a trip soon and want to know what i'll see!
Minnesota is called the land of 10,000 lakes for a reason - it's a haven for water-types. Up north, expect to find lots of Bibarel, Psyduck, and Surskit in the region's countless lakes, ponds, and streams. If you go out onto Lake Superior, you might even have the luck to fish up a Basculin!
But Minnesota's not all water-types - its dense forests means there's lots of grass-types, too, like Rowlet. These forests also host some unique species like Rockruff or Impidimp, which aren't really as common in the rest of the United States.
Also, keep your eyes peeled for Axew. I did some research up in northern Minnesota years ago, and while the state officially claims that no more Axew live there, I'm pretty sure I saw one, and reports have been rising. It seems likely that a population is reestablishing itself in the region.

Can you share some Impidimp info?
Absolutely! One of my husband's first pokémon was an impidimp, so I can tell you quite a bit off the cuff, but of course I did make sure to fact check all of this, too. Sorry if this is a bit on the longer side! I've got a lot to say about them, haha.
Impidimps are well-adapted to the darkness of the Glimwood Tangle, with large, sensitive eyes that have evolved to take in as much light as possible. Because of this, they tend to dislike strong light. It’s highly recommended that anyone who expects their impidimp to come into prolonged contact with daylight or other bright light sources should invest in a pair of special sunglasses or tinted goggles for their pokémon companion, so as to avoid discomfort in the short-term and damage to their eyesight in the long-term.
Impidimps are a common household infestation in rural homes. They tend to make their nests in walls, cupboards, and other dark, enclosed spaces. However, they’re easily lured out into the open with milk and honey left out overnight-- a favored treat of theirs!
There’s an old Galarian belief that impidimps are the troublesome children of changeling fey. While this may seem like nothing but a fairy tale, it actually holds an inkling of truth! The only pokémon species that is proven to be capable of producing impidimp offspring is ditto, which are, of course, very well-known for changing their form. (Many claim that the hattena line is capable of producing impidimp offspring when mating with a member of the impidimp line, but this has not been observed in the wild, nor has it been successfully replicated in captivity, so this remains an unsubstantiated rumor.)
Though impidimp manes are not sensitive or prehensile like those of their evolutions, they are nonetheless very peculiar about their signature lock of hair. If someone the impidimp does not trust or know well attempts to touch it, brush it, or arceus forbid, cut it, they can expect to get bitten...or worse yet, the impidimp will decide to make that individual a long-term target for future mischief out of spite.
They’re surprisingly prolific artists when given crayons, glitter, or other crafting materials. I strongly suggest, however, that you keep these items out of reach unless they’re under careful observation-- or you might wake up to one hell of a mess!

masterful pickpocket. / pkmn headcanon.
due to his ability to control the very strands of his hair, goro is a master pickpocket--not that he doesn't use his hands, mind you because he is just as adept with his fingers--BUT hair has the added perk of not leaving behind any fingerprint marks; his hands literally never have to leave his own person.
when carrying his own personal items, they are all snagged by a single hair that alerts him when tugged, jerked, etc. in case he is ever intentionally pickpocketed himself.

DHSJSGHSJGHSJMALE READER BLOG/POSPOS!! Can I ask for piers x a masc fairy-type trainer? tysm and i hope your doing well!
I'm not in the best shape rn but I appreciate the checking in!! Sorry it took so long, I'm really saying this to everyone lol but you deserve an apology for my vanishing. Yay first Piers rq! Sorry if it isn't the best, I wasn't too sure what headcanons to put down for the fairy-type trainer reader that weren't too general. :/
Tumblr media
Piers X Masc Fairy Type Trainer!
🎤 - Piers isn't really about the whole dark/fairy rivalry. He doesn't really care much either way what Pokemon you train. Fairy types aren't exactly his thing, though. A bit too... pastel for him.
🎤 - He doesn't battle with you personally all that much, he will if you ask, but not without snarkily asking you if you just want an easy sweep, only to give you a massively formidable run for your money with his team despite the type disadvantage.
🎤 - If your aesthetic matches your Pokemon, expect him to give you shit about it once he's more comfortable with you. Hey, he's got nothing against pink, but would it kill you to have some contrast in your outfits? Needless to say you can invite him to coordinate for you anytime.
🎤 - This is the case with anyone he's dating, but though Piers acts aloof and distant, he's dedicated in his own special way. Not huge on PDA, but if you're satisfied with someone nearby just... being, that's what he can offer.
🎤 - You always get free admission to his shows ofc! Piers is a bit shy about his relationships--but can you really blame a musician for wanting to keep such things private? Fans can be nuts. But at some point in his songs he'll always look over at you, maybe gesture in your general direction, some kind of acknowledgement that's vague for both of your sakes, but you both know what it means.
🎤 - Just don't expect him to dedicate any love songs to you. ...Publicly.
🎤 - He's a good guy if you just want a very simple relationship, little pressure to be together all the time, but a strong love when you are. Just a strong love that is quite private and a bit subtly shown, but if you can read him well you know how strong his feelings really are.
🎤 - You guys absolutely share custody of an Impidimp. You teasingly say it has his droopy eyelids. He replies that it has your poor color sense.
🎤 - More than likely, that one Impidimp is going to turn into many. You two are going to become crazy cat men for Impidimp.
🎤 - So while Piers doesn't put much stock in competition or rivalry, expect your relationship to have a lot of banter, eye-rolling, and snark, but that doesn't mean he loves you any less.

Any headcanons for the Hatenna line?
They're considered hard Pokemon to train due to their sensitivity—they're mostly caught by trainers with a lot of experience.
While two separate species, they frequently interbreed with the Impidimp line.
They're also considered to have a mutualistic relationship with the. Impidimp line. The line eat emotions that bother the Hatenna line, so the Impidimp gets fed and the Hatenna isn't bothered by unwanted emotions.
Because they are sensitive to emotions, the line tends to prefer staying in their Pokeballs and only coming out for short periods of time.
The line is popular with fashion icons due to their hair and hats. Them being hard to train only makes them more popular as a status symbol.
The tentacle on Hatterene's head is prehensile and used to grab prey. It can move at lightning-fast speeds.
Some old Galarian myths involve Hatterene that shapeshift into human woman during the daytime to lay curses on people.
Hattrem have a habit of attacking people who emote too much. This only causes people to emote more from pain, creating a cyclical effect.
The line's sensitivity makes them popular amongst both psychics (no overwhelming thoughts or emotions) and less emotive neurodivergent people.
The line mostly lives in isolation, only joining together with others for short periods of time.

Sooo... I did a thing. Here's the list of Pokémon I think would fit the td reboot cast. Choices are based on either esthetic, personality, certain characteristics or a mix of everything. I'm planning on doing the other casts as well, btw.
Axel: Scizor - I thought about an "axe" Pokémon, and the only thing that came to mind was Kleavor, but since I didn't want to give her a Pokémon from 200 years ago (no, I don't count the fact that you can have it on SV), I thought about the closest thing to it, and that was Scizor, which is still pretty fitting, if you ask me.
Bowie: Meowscarada - I decided to have Bowie and Priya foil each other. I haven't played SV, but from the Pokédex entries I've read, it seems like Meowscarada uses deceit to hit it's enemies. Plus, I think Dark type fits Bowie pretty well, and it also has his color palette (green and purple, though in reverse quantity).
Caleb: Dragonair - At first I wanted to go for a pink Pokémon since it's his main color, but I already headcanoned Milotic with Alejandro, so I went with the next closest thing. Plus, if in season 2 his own description ends up being true (strong and kind) Dragonite could be pretty fitting too.
Chase: Impidimp - A reddish little trickster gremlin who likes to cause chaos. I don't think I need to explain more.
Damien: Kecleon - Decided to go with his "biology nerd" side. A Kecleon seems like a species he would be really interested in, while also being a not-too-strong Pokémon.
Emma: Morpeko - I couldn't help thinking about the "Bad Emma" during the pole challenge. Plus, an overall cute Pokémon who gets angry because of a specific reason seems pretty on point.
Julia: Zweilous - Two-faced Dark type Pokémon, violent and strong. The colors are actually the opposite of hers (white, yellow and light blue vs black, blue and red). She probably wouldn't use it too often, but it does fit.
Millie: Gothita - I started thinking Psychic types would fit her well, so I started looking into it, and Gothita's Dex description is funnily on point. Observes other Pokémon and Humans to watch things only it seems to see (self-explanatory), and it apparently talks alone (which could represente her notebook).
MK: Nickit - Didn't know whether to go with the technology side or the thieving side, but in the end I chose the more obvious one.
Nichelle: Mime Jr. - A pink little Fairy, who becomes a full fledged performer (both as Mr. Mime and Mr. Rime), is the closest thing to an actor I could think about for her.
Priya: Quaquaval - Foiling Bowie, a Fighting type fitting of her, with her same blue palette and oriental elements in the design. Meowscarada and Quaquaval also have a weakness and a resistance to each other. Also a callback to when she acted as a bird to save Millie from the cassowary.
Raj: Alolan Vulpix - Ice type who become a Fairy type, the more trickster type (he was the one who came up with the idea to stop the raptor). Funnily enough both Ice and Fairy are super effective against Bowie's Meowscarada.
Ripper: Stunky - Do I really need to explain this? At some point he even does the same pose.
Scary Girl: Mimikyu - I could have gone with any Ghost type, but I thought about when Zee said she dressed like a doll, so I decided it was either Mimikyu or Banette.
Wayne: Alolan Sandshrew - Ice type who's also a Steel type, more strong willed and super effective against Raj's fairy (the leader and more competitive).
Zee: Slowpoke - I thought Water types fit Zee pretty well, and Slowpoke is probably the laxest and dumbest Pokémon I could have chosen. Psyduck was also an option at some point, but Golduck was too cool-looking for him.

Yuurivoice/Pokemon headcanons?
I dont really have any yv headcanons that I haven't said already so I'll just reiterate the ones that live close to my heart
Alphonse and Finn are AuDHD, Seth Charlie and Auron are autistic
Alphonse is Puerto Rican, Seth is blasian, Charlie is mexican, Faust is Filipino, Auron is Korean Finn is the only white guy in my head/lh
Al and faust are genderfluid (though al just goes by whatever pronouns people refer to him as he just like me fr) Finn, Seth, Auron and Charlie are physically transitioning/have physically transitioned (ftm) also Charlie goes by he/they👍
Charlie and Auron are demisexual
This is me projecting cause I recently finished the series: Auron thinks aggretsuko is really funny sometimes, though it's not exactly smth he'd come back to watch
Also favorite food(s) is just fruit in general cause they're sweet
Seth loves taking pictures of scenery and almost always carries a camera. I think that's cute
Finn has extensive knowledge of wine he loves that shit
Alphonse practically runs on caffeine. For one he makes the best coffee it's the only thing he can actually make correctly and he drinks a concerning amount of energy drinks but he's at least sensible enough to also drink enough water so he doesn't stroke out/lh
I'm gonna hit you with some yv pokemon crumbs
Faust has a teddiursa. Also they like to dress their pokemon up
Charlie specifically seems like a traditionalist and basically only likes pokemon from gen 1 and 2 maybe gen 3 cause it just progressively gets worse. yeah I said it. /lh
Giving Charlie a rattata is too mean therefore he mains Pikachu (again traditionalist/lh)
Alphonse with a impidimp also seems evil but in the funny way
I think all also deserves a meowth. As a treat.
K thats all I got

(I figured Tumblr ate the ask. Oh well, things do happen after all. 🤷)
The Chain and Fierce end up finding out more about Pokemon Trainer!Reader. Wild had found their trophy room, the shelves lined with various trophies to awards. Some having pictures of Reader alongside different Pokemon but the most eye catching is the oldest photo.
They appear to be 10 years old in it and next to them were two Pokemon, a white rabbit alongside a familiar looking pink imp. All three smiling as Reader holds up a badge that happened to be in a display case. This, of course, leads to questions.
Time: Is that you and your Grimmsnarl in the photo?
Reader: Yep, the good ol' rookie days. That's when I won my first gym badge, the Boulder Badge from Pewter City in the Kanto Region.
Legend: Who's that other Pokemon?
This is where the group learns about Starter Pokemon. Wild is definitely giddy as Reader explains how new Trainers can get their very first Pokemon and each region offering a three different types of Starters: Fire, Water, Grass. They had choose Scorbunny for their Starter, a Fire Type from the Galar Region.
Reader already been friends with their Grimmsnarl, who was an Impidimp back then, and caught em once receiving a Pokeball. Everyone is curious about the currently absent Pokemon especially Legend. I headcanon the Vet having a close connection to rabbits since his Dark World form is a bunny.
Reader doesn't answer and instead leads the group to the training grounds. Some of their Pokemon tend to train amongst themselves so the place is a good distance away from the house to avoid any property damage. Neither the Chain or Fierce didn't expect to come across an intense training session between two Pokemon.
A 30 ft metal snake trying to swat away a super fast white blur. The blur turning about to be a familiar looking rabbit Pokemon just a few inches taller than Four. Whether it be summoning boulders from the sky or slamming its tail, the metal snake couldn't hit its target as their smaller opponent kept dodging.
Reader's Pokedex: Cinderace, the Striker Pokemon and the final evolved form of Scorbunny. A Fire Type. Skilled in offense and defense skills, it takes great pride in its abilities. This Pokemon often puts itself in a tough spot due to its habit of showboating when cheered on. Cinderace juggles a pebble between its feet and turn it into a fiery soccer ball to scorch opponents with.
Steelix, the Iron Snake Pokemon. A Steel/Rock Type. Tempered underground by high heat and pressure, the iron from the soil it ingested made its body harder than diamonds. Steelix uses its sturdy jaws to chew through boulders and eyes to see in the darkness underground.
Reader: They evolved into Cinderace a long time ago and help train any Pokemon who have issues fighting fast opponents like my Steelix over here. A Training Coach of sorts when I'm not testing any new challengers.
Amongst the group, Legend is the most impressed and slightly jealous. He can barely do much in his rabbit form as it isn't an offensive animal like a wolf. Yet Reader's Cinderace is a total terror, moving fast and clearly holding back against their much larger opponent. Steelix is the only one attacking as any move usage from the Striker Pokemon was to cancel out an attack they can't dodge.
It takes a bit before both Pokemon notice they're being watched and stop their spar. Cinderace instantly greets Legend as if knowing he's a fellow rabbit. The Veteran definitely got himself a fan since the Fire Type acts more giddy around him than anyone else in the Chain.
Four would love Steelix cause he definitely main Steel Types as a trainer. It reminds him of his work at the forge since it takes a skill and dedication to craft the finest steel. The Iron Snake was definitely careful not to knock any of the Chain down when wanting attention.
Except Fierce who got playfully knocked on his ass by Reader's Steelix. Some of their Pokemon have a bet on who can mess with the 'walking white haired wall'. They can easily tell Fierce is interested in their Trainer so it's only fair to test him.
Reader's Pokemon are little shits especially when it involves potential suitors. A certain Fierce Deity better watch out as mischief is in his future.

With added details!!!! 👀👀
I must admit that the reality where both posts happened at the same time must be incredibly amusing.
You also did a really good job keeping the post intact since you more or oess typed the whole thing out again. I'm impressed. 😄
FD being a suiter is new though- at least in the sense of "I don't remember it." 😅

yes i think comparing grimmsnarl to bears or big cats is accurate cus they look soft and nice to pet but are yknow. will killyou
also i think grimmsnarl generally have a pretty chill understanding between each other in regards to colony territory but im sure there are more hot headed grimmsnarl who will get in big fights with others over prime land.

((OOC NOTE: Please read before interacting!!
Hey hey! Welcome to my Pokémon roleplay blog. On this blog I will be pretending as if the world of Pokémon is 100% real. This being said, I will be including pkmn rp tags in each post that fits that description as a warning.
Friendly reminder that if you try to engage a plot with me or any kind of offscreen rp experience without at least discussing it with me first, then I will likely not respond. Even if you do approach me with something in mind, there is no guarantee I will engage. Also I tend not to interact or engage in any big events. They tend to become overwhelming for me and you’ll most likely never find me becoming a part of them. Please don’t send in asks regarding big events.
If you are looking to interact with my muse, and your muse is tied to some potentially triggering topics, I would prefer if you discussed potential interactions with me first. This is for my own comfort, so please keep this in mind.
Admin is an adult! If this makes you uncomfortable then move along.
This is an RP blog. This means I will be trying my best to roleplay as Elite Four member Grimsley with the [very] limited information we have on him. I will be including several headcanons of mine regarding this character, though none of them are too drastic.
Please be aware that when I am talking as Grimsley, I will use casual teasing, sarcasm, and occasional flirting. If you are uncomfortable with this, it may be in your best interest to move along. If something ever comes off as rude/mean, it does not reflect how I actually feel and is just how I believe Grimsley would react.
Topics of gambling and addiction to gambling will be a reoccuring theme on this blog. You have been warned.
This blog is SFW, save for vaguely suggestive topics. Anything that is deemed as explicitly NSFW will be deleted on sight.
Another warning. This blog may often be involved in long RP threads. I won’t be using any programs to cut my long posts short. If this bothers you, I would recommend skipping this blog or blocking the tag “long post” or “rp thread”.
I also want to acknowledge the version of Grimsley we see in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Grimsley as we see him in SM is technically retired as a member of the Elite Four, so I will NOT be roleplaying as this specific version of Grimsley (for now). This is to not complicate things timeline-wise.
My version of Grimsley is a bisexual man who is very much taken. Flirt with him if you want, but he’ll probably just say something snarky in response. Questions about his relationship (within reason) are welcome.
This version of Grimsley I’m roleplaying is set after the events of Pokémon Black2 and White2.
Also! I follow and like from @ripoff-robbie-rotten.

Not really sure if the dragons would even have Pokémon about the Pokémon idea, but I was thinking this through, and thought of potential Pokémon each dragon would most likely have.
Pitaya I feel would have a turtonator or a Charizard, or any Pokémon that can handle the heat. So I think Fire or Rock types.
Ananas is a little easier, so all I thought of was cocky. So for Pokémon I chose Ninetales and Oricorio (Baile Style, Aka the red Oricorio) and I think he takes excellent care of his Pokémon. (And a bonus Headcanon of His Ninetales treats Pineapplemur like it’s own pup)
Lotus is a little more difficult, so I’m thinking they didn’t catch this ‘mon, just allowed it to wander around near their paradise. That ‘mon is Virizion. And I think they’d most likely have a Meowscarada or a Politoed.
Lychee isn’t too hard, but all that came to mind was Impidimp (Little shit energy)
And Longan, I feel they’d have Arceus, since Arceus is the Pokémon of creation (And would be absolutely evil with a Pokémon that can destroy the world.)
Was I accurate enough?
I think those choices are pretty interesting!
Personally, I like to match Pokémon to them based on type but I think those are pretty cool choices based on personality!
The only thing I'd say is I personally think Arceus would go with Millennial Tree instead because Arceus is essentially the God of the Pokémon world and Millie is the God of the Cookie world (other than the witches) but I still think it's an interesting idea

the power of tongues. / pkmn headcanon.
due to becoming one being with impidimp, goro can speak with any pokemon regardless of their type, species, etc. this aside, pokemon in general are actually pretty intelligent beings who can understand humans, but very, very few actually have the vocal ability to converse with them. humans go without saying.
despite this, goro's knowledge of the human world and humans is limited to what he, himself, has learned as he ventured to and from the tagtree thicket.
at best, he passes as an unusual person (a pokemon fanatic to some!); downright strange at worst.
however, there are times when he doesn't understand either--humans nor pokemon. voices become muted entirely or garbled, never both and he can never know how long it'll last . . .
