Examining the Benefits of C# Implicit Usings
Have you thought about how using Implicit Usings can change the way you design C# applications? The laborious process of manually incorporating the identical using statements in many files is a common task for C# developers, which results in crowded code and more maintenance work. Implicit usings, introduced in .NET 6, allow the compiler to automatically include commonly used namespaces, greatly increasing coding efficiency. Further flexibility is provided by the option to design unique global usings that are exclusive to your projects.
The Problem with Duplicate Uses
Developers frequently discover that common namespaces—like System, System.   Collections. Generic and System Linq—are declared many times in different files in numerous projects. This redundancy makes the code more difficult to comprehend and maintain in addition to making it more complex.
What could be the simplified approach?
Consider defining these common namespaces globally for your entire project in a dedicated file, like GlobalUsings.cs, to solve this problem. This methodology not only mitigates redundancy but also fosters a better structured code structure. The development process is made simpler by centralizing your using statements, which establish a single point of truth for namespace declarations.
Why adopt implicit using?
Improved Code Clarity: Your code gets clearer and cleaner when you remove unnecessary using statements. You and your team will find it simpler to explore and comprehend the codebase because of this simplification.
Simplified Maintenance: By consolidating your using statements into a single file, you can make additions and changes in one place. Error risk is greatly decreased by this centralized administration, which guarantees that changes are automatically reflected throughout your project.
Improved Collaboration: Because they can concentrate on functionality instead of being distracted by repeated pronouncements, team members may collaborate more successfully when there is consistency.
Increased Productivity: You'll be able to write business logic and implement features more intently and spend less time managing boilerplate code by optimizing your code and cutting out redundant parts.
Key Takeaways
One useful feature that can significantly improve the readability and maintainability of your C# code is implicit usings. By implementing this technique, you promote a more productive and cooperative development atmosphere in addition to streamlining your projects. Beyond only increasing individual productivity, the advantages also improve team dynamics and project success.
More Considerations:
Consider the following recommended techniques while implementing implicit usings:
Utilize IDE Features: A lot of integrated development environments (IDEs) provide resources for efficient usage management. To further improve your productivity, use these tools to automate the process of adding and removing namespaces as needed.
Analyze Namespace Utilization: Make sure the namespaces you use are still essential and relevant by regularly reviewing them. By doing this, needless imports that can cause confusion and clutter are avoided.
Stay updated: Since new features and advancements pertaining to usings and other language enhancements are always being introduced, stay up to current on developments in the .NET environment. Maintaining awareness enables you to take advantage of the most recent developments in your development procedures.
Embrace the power of implicit usings to improve your C# development processes right now! You can write code that is more streamlined, effective, and long-lasting by doing this. Making the switch to implicit usings not only makes code easier, but it also fosters a culture that values creativity and teamwork.

No hold on I'm gonna make an extra post about this:
I wouldn't choose to be alloromantic
If I were given the choice to either remain aro or become alloro again, I would choose aromanticism.
And I think a lot of people need to hear that.

yeah sure it sucks when you give Lucanis his gift and he's just like "for me?" but also consider this man's history of gift-giving and his response may just be that he's processing for the first time in his life that gifts don't have to be explicitly murder adjacent

What I love about Hellboy and Abe Sapien's dynamic in the comics is that, if you came into this blind, you'd expect Abe to be the voice of reason or the straight man to Hellboy's impulsive and hotheaded personality. But no, Abe is more often than not the crazy one. Hellboy would deal with fighting evil monsters and bad guys by just sighing and getting it over with, while Abe is going rabid over tearing the creature apart when he does get into a fight. Hellboy acts like it's a 9-to-5 job and will reasonably talk things out with a guy that had nearly killed him before, Abe acts like a madman in a slaughter house and his first instinct is to shoot first kill second and ask third. They're both insane, but on completely different levels.
#wheres that one comic where abe gets into a mission and has to tear down a monster with an axe#then at the end when hellboy appears and sees abe going ham while covered in blood. he's like ''oh hey abe. good job you're doing there''#hellboy was not even worried for a second. he trusts abe to handle things on his own#they both trust each other to do their job but they also know when they can handle a fight on their own and will help if needed.#their trust and bond with each other is so implicit but speaks volumes. they dont need to say anything. they just know#we talk so much about hellboy being like. an alright guy and a whole lot kinder than the world treats him. and that's right#but it really does make Abe look fucking batshit wild in comparison because of it#the entirety of the abe sapien comics is that the guy is on his hinges and the only thing keeping him sane before was his job (which is#debatable.) and the bprd. mostly hellboy and liz and kate and roger. johan and ben are a weird case but he does kinda care about them#i love abe btw. he's such an interesting critter. absolutely crazy maniac of a guy.#tbf i dont blame him considering his backstory. if i went through some of the shit he did; i would not be sane either#also. the moments post hellboy's death in the comics where abe is trying to deal with his passing but never directly says anything about it#until he was confronted by hellboy in his dream. thats the cool bit yknow. we dont need to be told Abe was grieving about hellboy#we just knew he wasn't handling it well. using present tense when talking about hellboy to other people. avoiding saying his name.#its great stuff#the fire burns#hellboy#hellboy comics#abe sapien

WELL, I HAVE TO TALK.
I've been thinking a lot about jacklust lately and I came up with a headcanon...
Si'ha Nova being a mother-in-law who's a huge fan of plants and passed that fanaticism on to her son-in-law. I feel like she'd be really nice to Jack despite everything that happened and Jack would feel confused about it, and well, I think she introduced Jack to the whole world of plants and now Jack has his own garden lol.
all that headcanon led to the idea of this little drawing hehe 🥳
(p.s: if anyone wants to use that idea for a fic or for drawings please let me know because I need more of this-)

don't get me wrong, i also have PLENTY of issues with the pacing of the last season and the plot choices leading into rogue one, but i'd be so much more willing to ignore all of that if the rest of this wasn't so blatantly misogynistic and racist

Hey hey hang on. So you know how the uniform specs in the first Harry Potter book conspicuously don't have a trouser element?
The robes aren't open jacket things like for the movie design, they're just. Robes. Scholar's gowns. Like, old school. Monastic habits. A medieval holdover, like the quill pens. They are fairly clearly closed down the front, a one-piece uniform garment.
How these interface with the school ties is never addressed. Can you imagine the cartoonish effect of bell-sleeved wizard robes, like on say Disney's Merlin, but in black, and then a collar like on a modern buttoned shirt just fucking. Sewn on there??? To give you something to tie your tie around???
And then conical hat also. Fantastic. No notes.
This never comes up wrt the physicality of being Harry Potter ofc, because firstly rowling is a boring person and secondly these were children's books. Harry is implied to sometimes not wear his school robes outside of class hours and to wear trousers under them I think, as are the Weasley boys, I wasn't really looking into this and it's been a very long time since i read these. Anyway.
But there's this gag during the Quidditch World Cup that at the time I really enjoyed. Where there's an old guy in a floral dressing gown insisting that this is Muggle clothing, he bought it in a Muggle shop, he's Blending In, and his more worldly friend is trying to explain to him that he's cross-dressing.
Which...is not even the operative issue with his outfit, it's that it's not outside clothes, but whatever. It's a pretty realistic place for a person to go trying to talk their friend around on the spot like that, and it provides a bridge to the next bit, which is the old guy insisting that he can't abide wearing trousers or underpants because it's uncomfortable and unnatural and he 'likes a nice healthy breeze round his privates.'
So canonically wizard men don't really. Wear trousers. As a rule.
Which I really enjoyed! The weirdness of this semi-closed society being so Very in-step with Britishness in so many ways, and yet also isolated enough to have gendered clothing norms six hundred years out of date. How does this work. The implications about the cultural points of contact and how elements of modernity diffuse through the society and all that.
Bowler hat.

A sort of continuation (prequel?) of this
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[When a young Francine was cast out of her pack, Arthur tried to persuade the elders to accept the doe in their colony of nymphs, but they refused.
Until then, Arthur was convinced he regarded her as any other animal in the wood but, at that point, the nymph realized that he didn't want to leave Francine alone and he was in love with her.
So Arthur bid farewell to his brothers (and in fact he did not see them until Francine's death) and fled with her to the edge of the forest, near a human village but far from their families, where they founded their home]

I just wish i could make people understand better that their delight in seeing david tennant return to doctor who seems to have come at the expense of so many of us who felt seen and represented in the thirteenth doctor. I won't criticise people for their joy, but that it was done in a manner that undermines some of the direct impact that jodie whittaker had on the show is just so disheartening. That her costume- beautifully imbued with meaning and intended to be for anyone- was burnt away in seconds is the most evident disservice. It just feels like so much of what she and her era represented was not understood by those who took over (i don't want to assign individual blame as i don't know enough about how that part of tv production works), as well as the BBC. I don't think the BBC ever really understood or celebrated what her doctor meant (and continues to mean) for so many of us. She's been done a disservice, and so have we as fans (we couldn't have just one more 13th era novel please?), and I'm just... really fucking tired.
(btw, with this opinion, i'm not interested in discussing subjective opinions about the writing of this era. My issue here is with the implicit sexism i think runs through the BBC which affected their promotion of the 13th doctor and has now fed into a narrative being pedalled by those who dislike her mainly through their own prejudices and implicit or explicit discriminations that david tennant and rtd are back to 'save' the show. It felt like the BBC never had the era's back, and that even the simple respect of being treated like the other eras is too much for them to offer.
also, this is all only touching on what needs to be a more complex and nuanced discussion. Whilst i hope this post is well-worded and as fair as possible, it's really just comes from a place of weariness and a need to express my frustration.)

There's something special about Moon being the only side of the DCA who has canonically (gameverse) voiced his counterpart's name ("No more Sun", which yes it's not him directly saying Sun's name since it's a figure of speech, but still) whereas Sun - the chatterbox - only refers to Moon via "he" or "other me". Moon, the quiet one who mostly laughs vs Sun who mostly uses words. Sun, who is scared of Moon, never utters his name whereas Moon clearly has no problem with it. Both of them using "we☀️/us🌙" prior to Eclipse. Moon, whose only opinion of Sun we can infer is "the other me trapped me in light so now I trap him in shadow", vs Sun's whole thing which is profoundly more fleshed out.
I don't know man, the "no more Sun" line always did things to me. I remember playing Ruin for the first time and getting this... jarring emotion when I heard Moon saying that. It's such a small line but good god did I latch onto it.

the anarchist position isn't a principled stance against unjustifiable hierarchies, it's just a lawless state where everyone sits around doing whatever they want and there is no more infrastructure or manufacturing of anything. when left to their own devices, people famously just completely lose all motivation to do anything, and dismantling the state, the entity that enforces law through violence, would be akin to loading up a game of The Sims and just leaving it running idly with no input, the titular sims wandering around aimlessly until they starve.
without a central authority maintaining law and order through threat of violence, society completely collapses! no one has ever or will ever do anything for anyone without the implict threat of jackbooted thugs shooting them in the head if they don't. there is no conceivable mode of society where this *isn't* the case.
"how would this part of society be run without a small group of people exerting their unquestionable will over a large group of people?" is a question you need to constantly ask to remind anarchists that their worldview just doesn't make sense!
if you can't *make* someone do something, then there's just no way to get them to do it!
asking nicely? using convincing arguments to persuade? just accepting "no" for an answer? (because if someone just doesn't wanna do something, they're probably being lazy, there's never any good reason for them to not wanna do it) all entirely unheard of. How will we govern if we are all equal?!?!

Gonna say it again, "Just stop consuming the genre" is THE WORST POSSIBLE RESPONSE to someone complaining about the lack of representation in their preferred genre!! And "Consume other stuff too" is not much better!!! I don't care how much you think varying media consumption is a Good and Holy lifestyle, not everyone wants to do that! There is no obligation to do that and there should not be! Because it's fucking entertainment. It's not a college major.
And! And and and. I would be remiss to not point out that when you tell someone, "If you want well written (minority) just get out of (genre fandom)" you are, regardless of your motivations, rhetorically aligning yourself with the exact same bigots who just want the pro-representation crowd to shut up and go away.
#I don't know how people can say “shonen is written for teen boys so obviously you're the idiot for wanting good rep from it”#as if teen boys don't also deserve stories with well-written diverse casts??#as if the poor reactions they often have to diversity are just inherent to their boyish nature and not a result of a widespread lack of rep#as if diverse casts in popular media aren't A PROVEN WAY to reduce implicit biases against groups of people on a very large scale#you people are dogs. how can you unironically say “this genre was made for teen boys so everyone else should stfu and gtfo”#and not immediately see that you've just aligned yourself with the actually bad people in the fandom#these stances also perfectly miss the point of “I love this genre and want to see a flaw in it corrected” because they are overwhelmingly..#...written by people who do not love the genre in question and are not interested in loving the genre#like yeah ultimately I understand that most of these posts don't give a true shit about helping people find rep in media#their main purpose 99% of the time is to publicly gloat about their supposedly superior media fixations#It's a real autism on autism violence (internet style) so I find it contemptible in a way that pulls all the muscles of my face downwards#“haw haw read another book (the ones I incidentally find engaging) and stop reading your dumb idiot books (the ones you find engaging)”#you can actually shut up tho that's the thing#you can just not say anything and make the world a better place Luigi Marioparty style#it's a wonderful strategy to use#if you've read through all these tags then 1. I thank you and 2. I have a little request if you're willing to give me more thought & time:#try to pay close attention the next few times you're talking about broad media fandoms which you aren't a part of#watch those little twinges in your chest and ask yourself#“is what I'm saying true? do I actually know enough to say that? what is the point of what I'm saying here? what do I want these ppl to do?#I think we all get caught up in Media Gloating sometimes#if you find that your thoughtless comments become concerning after you put thought into them#maybe it's time to not make them#or to even (as a totally random example) make a post arguing AGAINST those comments#because guess what? your bad take there was probably not yours alone; I'd wager 1000 other similar people have made similar takes#but they're not all gonna reflect on that unprompted; that's where you can come in#shonen#lgbtq representation#female representation#representation in media#queer representation

What if Gotenks lived with his dad Vegito but on weekends he lived with his other dad Gogeta but this is sort of a recent thing becasue Gogeta didnt secure split custody until recently so Gotenks doesnt really Know Gogeta that well and he goes to his modest and hearthlike apartment and feels disquieted becasue it is VERY DIFFERENT from the sensory-overload distraction-chamber that is Vegito's lavish house. And Gogeta doesnt narcissistically abuse Gotenks so Gotenks doesnt relaly understand him at all and he really doesnt get how an adult could be so calm and not get angry and yell at him over little things and so he thinks that Gogeta is actually just really furious but hiding it and so it takes a long time for Gotenks to trust him and trust that he genuinely isnt mad at him. But at the same time it doesnt take long at all for Gotenks to respond to his genuine calmness by feeling the most secure & safe that hes ever felt but he doesnt really understand that or why that is and he doesnt understand why he feels so yucky when he has to go back to his other home on Monday morning and so he just ignores it and plays iPad and skateboards. And every Friday night he gets so nervous he gets nauseous and Vegito always uses this to say "You dont have to go over there sweetie :) Do you want to? You Do Not Have To Want To" and then he yells at Gogeta over the phone about it. But without fail every time he gets to Gogeta's apartment and adjusts Gotenks does feel better and sometimes just falls asleep on the couch. And Gogeta makes tea every evening and it's sooooo yucky to Gotenks but he still drinks it every time becasue Gogeta made it and he deosnt have the maturity & wherewithal to understand that it's becasue it makes him feel included and cared for.
This isn't dragon ball any more not even close like not even a little bit
