I have a little theory for Cinderella Boy.
(no idea if this has been said before)
So, throughout the series, Buddy shows more and more skin, right?
I was thinking about that and I've noticed the more skin he's showing, the more open and trusting he is with Chase.
My theory is further proven in Still Waters where we see little to no skin.
And THEN! In Still Waters, we see more of Chase's chest than we ever have.
What if that's Chase's way of trying to connect with Buddy and say: "I know I messed up. Please trust me."

Taiga, Romeo, and Gluttony
NOTE: This post contains spoilers for the entirety of the recently released Auction chapter. Read at your own risk.
So the recent chapter was everything to me. It was the shortest, but in my opinion it showed us a lot about Taiga and Romeo and their relationship to one another, and it also helped me refine a specific thought I had about Taiga and his whole deal he has going on.
To put it shortly; I think Taiga has a gluttony curse, and I think it functions as a mirror to that of Romeo's stigma, and is part of why they had a falling out, and why they can't seem to get away from each other.
To put it horrifically, horribly long....
So what do I mean when I say Taiga is cursed? Well, exactly that. I believe he's cursed in a similar way Rui or the MC are; he has an insatiable need to eat anomalies. I believe that this grants certain side effects like the MC and Rui's curse, and that one of them is a sixth sense for anomalies and anomalous circumstances.
I want to explain this before the Romeo part, because it's the basis for my analysis and thoughts on the two of them.
To start from the very beginning; I think Taiga, during one of his missions, was cursed by something like a jikininki as punishment for his 'gluttony' — the rapid rate at which he completed missions in his first year. This left him with his insatiable need to eat anomalies, but more specifically, is the reason he doesn't seem to want to eat them.
While I'm not certain the anomaly is for certain a jikininki, especially because there's certainly other similar folk legends out there, I chose that one specifically because they are noted for their sharp teeth and for not liking the insatiable need to eat corpses.
Now, what does this mean for Taiga? I think he's stuck between being a ghoul and being a jikininki, or whatever anomaly it ends up being, and I think this has given him a sixth sense that messes with his perception of time, self, and memory. But why would it do that?
Jikininki are immortal creatures, and wish to be freed from the torment they're in for the most part. If one was cursed to be part Jikininki, it would make sense for their existence to be similarly excruciating, with a difference being a lack of full immortality.
Remember the Mortkranken chapter, with the failed mermaid flesh? How their bodies continued even as their minds didn't? Taiga has multiple lines detailing how his 'body' remembers, even if his mind doesn't. Yuri and Jiro also explain that part of the side effects of the reaction are rapid mental deterioration. If Taiga had gone through a similar deterioration, it would explain his seemingly sporadic memory loss (not total blackouts like Jiro, nor specific category based amnesia either, just like. Random shit) and the fact that he doesn't have a concrete sense of identity (showcased through his constantly shifting first-person pronoun choice in Japanese). His cells of his body are reverting to their pre-aged self, and his mind is attempting to do that too, but it's imperfect and messy.
The key to the idea of the sixth sense comes from the fact that he's specifically cursed for anomalous gluttony. I think that he can sense anomalous material or anomalies themselves, and as demonstrated from Ed, this includes some sort of future sense. While we don't know the full specifics of what a sixth sense grants, we can see him utilise it in multiple different places. It's also, in my opinion, why he was sent on the Prologue mission.
Some examples of his supposed sixth sense are how he intuitively understood the anomalous dealer's entire thing, the scenes where he knows the Like Dove will appear before it does, when he senses Romeo approaching (Romeo is carrying an anomaly: his artifact), how he understands the auction is an anomaly, when he gets the mask under unknown circumstances, when he directly knows there's no anomalies... the list honestly could go on forever.
There's one other fact that I personally believe sealed this theory for me; his association with Haku.
In the recent chapter, when the MC is thinking about who to talk to about curses, Taiga instantly knows who we're thinking of, and rejects it on the basis that '[He] can't get rid of curses unless the anomaly that did the deed's right in front of him.' and that he's a 'Simp for the rules anyway.'
... Which is interesting, since it seems like Taiga has tried to ask him about this before. But if you think of this as Haku's stigma, and imagine Taiga trying to get his curse cleansed before, it makes sense! It would also be a good reason to put Haku and Taiga together in the prologue; Taiga can track the anomaly with his sense, and Haku can cleanse whatever curse it gives so long as Taiga manages to capture it or subdue it for long enough.
(Which, side note, is so tragic for the MC...)
Okay, now that the basis of 'Taiga is cursed' is out of the way, how on earth does this relate to Romeo?
Simple. I think Taiga's curse directly mirror's Romeo's stigma, and it's what caused their rift.
Romeo's stigma, as we learn in the new chapter as well, is dependent on his attachment to the items he throws. This, thematically, works with Romeo, who is known to be greedy. Everything he does is motivated by a profit of some kind, whether that profit is social or monetary or whatever. He wants special privileges so he does special missions. He wants money so he raises fees and coerces people to gamble. He wants popularity so he dresses nicely and pampers himself. It doesn't always mean he is money grubbing and stingy (because we see he's willing to spend lavishly on grooming and decor!) but it means that he's attached to what he has. His stigma requires him to give up that attachment. It is a punishment, a sacrifice, as a result of the pact. Similar to how Luca lost his brother (and gained a protective stigma), Romeo has to lose what he feels is worth something in order to fully utilise his ability. Call it a sort of pride.
I think, on the other hand, Taiga's curse is one of envy. He has a desire to eat anomalies, yes, but the desire becomes stronger the more attached someone else is to the anomaly. He doesn't need any interest in it, really. If someone else likes it he will need to eat it.
Taiga covets Haru's Peekaboo to eat instead of the wild one that we also know is in Jabberwock. He's composed about the Like Dove (barely, but he restrains himself!) until Romeo wants it. He steals the plants from Rui's BAR, not the ones in the garden outside (both are Rui's, but his bar is arguably the more loved thing of his since it was fully his choice). He covets Mortkranken's anomalies, and becomes mildly obsessed with the immortal one as soon as it becomes a major research subject. He's also completely fine holding and handling the mask, presumably for a long time, up until Romeo sees it as valuable and worthy.
Now, this doesn't necessarily make them instantly incompatible. But when you take one of Romeo's core traits being 'Greed towards anomalies' (He wants to collect them and frequently complains that other houses are 'stealing' them from under him; he sells them; he gets missions from Hyde to get them; etc), it becomes evidently clear that Taiga's curse is directly oppositional to it.
I think it's pretty obvious by now that Taiga and Romeo have a pretty turbulent relationship now, but were extremely close in the past. Multiple characters state that it would be nice to see them on good terms again, and it's certainly worth mentioning that Romeo is one of the few people Taiga consistently remembers. They both know each other exceptionally well, too. Taiga knows how to get under Romeo's skin and Romeo knows Taiga's habits.
Going back to the idea of this curse causing their rift, if Romeo was constantly on the verge of an important capture, or even if there was just one mission that was important, and Taiga ruined it by eating the anomaly, I doubt Romeo would easily forgive and forget. I think it could very easily cause a massive rift that just kept growing with each new snack Taiga picked up.
I think a moment that gets its nuance overlooked a lot is the scene just before Taiga eats the dove. The Japanese line emphasises that Taiga is referring to HIS heart, that Romeo could shoot through HIS heart, not just a general appraisal of sharpshooting. He even points directly to his heart as he says this, and it makes Romeo hesitate. They're BOTH in pain in this scene. They're both conflicted; this is their ex-partner (which I don't mean in the romantic sense, just in the general sense) who they were very, very close with, and who is now literally at arms length with a loaded gun. Romeo could just shoot him. Romeo could put an end to all of this supposed pain. And Taiga might even let him. And wouldn't that be karma for all he's done? But he can't. He hesitates.
And you know what appears after that? The dove.
This dove that symbolises both general desire (flies over peoples' heads when they're thought about) and Romeo's desire. His desire to escape probation. His desire to make money. His desire to capture, not kill. His desire to reconcile instead of fight. His desire to shoot.
And Taiga kills it. Eats it.
I think this is the most tragic scene between the two of them. This is the crux of it; they both want to reconcile. They want to be friends, to be close, to stop the war raging between the two of them that has done nothing but hurt them both AND hurt the wellbeing of Sinostra, but they can't, because Romeo will ALWAYS desire, and Taiga will ALWAYS take that from him.
It's a cycle they can't escape. The auction chapter shows it too. Taiga is almost disappointed at Romeo's greed. He seems jaded by it, and seems proud and happy when Romeo gives it up for once. Romeo is happy too; MC goes out of her way to say that Taiga handing him the mask makes him look more peaceful than he ever has before. It is quite literally a perfect ending for the two of them and a perfect way to reconcile.
And then Taiga eats it! Again! But I think the most horrifying part of it is that he tries to warn Romeo.
The comic doesn't translate or even transcribe it, so it's so, so easy to miss, especially if you don't speak Japanese, but Taiga grunts out the words 'I', 'Eat', and 'Next' as he approaches Romeo and the mask, and it's the direct reason why Romeo is able to realise that Taiga is about to eat it before it actually happens. He basically just grunts out 'I'm gonna eat that next' as he's fighting against it! But inevitably, neither of them can stop it. The cycle continues.
As long as Romeo is greedy, and as long as Taiga is gluttonous, they will never be able to fully reconcile, no matter how much they both want it. Both of them have to change, but I want to point out that at this moment Romeo is the bigger active obstacle between the two of them. Romeo can't let things go, he holds onto everything and lets it build until it explodes in one way or another. Tiris, his stigma, is symbolic in that sense, that he has to learn to let things go, because if he lets it build too much it will explode spectacularly.
(All of the ghouls have this sort of symbolism with their stigma, so it's not just a Romeo thing, but it's definitely important to his character.)
But Romeo can't get over it yet. He can't get over his greed, he can't let go of things he can't achieve (like getting Kaito's necklace), he can't get over past betrayals (Taiga, what happened with his family, etc)... He's too stuck and stubborn, and his refusal to budge has therefore lead to Taiga's refusal to push. Taiga has stopped caring about getting on good terms because he knows it won't turn out well. He's given up and become cynical, which in turn means that IF Romeo were to change, Taiga... still probably wouldn't. They're cyclical again. Always, always missing each other. So close and yet so far.
I hope the MC can be the catalyst for this cycle to end. Or Ritsu, who is a good equalizer to the two of them. But until she learns to see her own worth in the Academy, and until Ritsu accepts that sometimes he's wrong / he doesn't always know the most out of everyone in the room, I'm afraid Romeo and Taiga will remain stuck in this loop forever...

i got almost all the next month's updates sketched! i'm not doing the last one simply because i am feeling the burn out of composing these pages. (each have at least 6 pages, a good amount have the max 12!)
that said, these are all just sketched. i want to do it in this order: backgrounds -> lineart -> transcript. i got other projects i need to work on (winning hat and NightFell) so I can't really guarantee when Tag will start to update again.
#ooc#for context i do have all the story beats planned aside from one specific character arc which i'm unsure what to do for yet#but otherwise i know who gets the focus where and what would loosely be discussed when#so tag is in a good spot writing wise but the loose nature of it makes scene to scenes both free and fun to make BUT#also makes me unsure of where its going and i won't really get the full sense of the scope of a scene until after the fact#for example this month of updates were planned at work so i had a detailed outline in mind but even that got like reworked as i made it.#for extra contrast on the scale of planning vs no plans#nightfell is meticulously planned and then created and then scrapped and reworked over and over and thats the whole process#meanwhile winning hats i have like. a loose character arc in mind for each character and a big scene or two in mind.#but thats it. each chapter i'll have some ideas spawned from making the previous but anything goes when making the chapter itself#so like in THEORY i love planning and i fully embrace it and think its so so so so important.#with AFR i benefited heavily when i planned things in detail! made a world of difference! but with these ISAT projects they work better on#the fly? maybe its the comedy nature maybe its me enjoying how idk whats going to happen just as much as the audience its like#idk its like im a fan of my own work so i get to enjoy it the same way the audience does lol. its fun#SORRY BUT IM NOT ACTUALLY SORRY FOR RAMBLING IM BEING POLITE ABOUT IT

Hey, have we thought that maybe Bad is acting as an angel again because his children are in heaven and he doesn't wanna lose them again?
Like he said: being back on earth and causing chaos feels like returning to his roots; he missed acting out and causing problems on purpose. He's here to spread the gospel of Fate and Death, and my what a great example he's been!
Killing people left and right, divine judgement and intervention just ooze right out of his blade or arrow! Hell; even kills that should've been physically impossible somehow happen by his hand! Almost like he can't help it anymore... almost like he's no longer completely holding the reigns.
After failing for so long to bring about divine judgement, all so he can protect those precious little children, the Gods can't really trust him to perform his Reaper duties anymore, so he's just become more of a vessel to get the point across.
Granted, it was truly a noble deed for him to turn his back on his Ho- choose to return to the mortal world to protect his children. A good enough act to get him through the pearly gates, but not enough to prove his worth... not good enough to prove he wouldn't try and play the Divines themselves again...
So how do they prove his loyalty?
A Test.
He goes back down for a set amount of time, chains himself to Euphrates, and does his job correctly this time; He is guaranteed a spot right back in Heaven next to his oh so precious family.
But: if he fails... if he proves himself unable to set out what the Gods sent him to do... well...
Maybe he falls once again... maybe the Divines grant him enough mercy to let him forget his family this time, maybe they don't...
All he knows is that this time...
He cannot fail.

[ cw: violence mention / death mention / ]
Will never stop thinking about how Leo, all alone in an endless void and being beaten again and again and again by the only other living thing around, still finds comfort in that space. The situation he was in was completely hopeless, and in any other circumstances he would not have escaped, at least not fast enough to save him from permanent (or even fatal) damage, be it physical or mental.
And yet, despite the bleakness of his situation, despite the agony and helplessness, all he needs is one glance at a crumbled photograph, one glance to remember his family, and that’s enough of a reason for him to smile.
Maybe that’s why his powers center around manipulating space - because no matter how much space is between them, no matter how dire his own situation may be, just the thought of his family, alive and okay, is enough to give Leo hope.
#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rottmnt leo#rise leo#the prison dimension is horrifying on its own#add in a monstrous being that towers over you and has vowed to ensure your suffering?#god I can’t imagine how scary that is#Mikey opening the portal was a miracle because if he hadn’t managed it there#it’s really up in the air what could have become of Leo#personally I subscribe by the theory that you straight up can’t die in the prison dimension#so it’s a prison in all ways#but the thought of a Leo who manages anyway who adapts and continues to have hope despite it all…#Leo saying he’s nothing without his family is a double edged sword really#because the thought of his family alone is all he needs to live. to hope.#to smile#nothing without them…but they’re EVERYTHING to him#and maybe he doesn’t realize it but…the feeling is mutual#one thing too is that hope that comforts Leo so much is not just that#should he think his family needs help - that hope can turn into determination#I’m unwell about this family#actually on my point of their powers - I truly do think the abilities tie in not only to their personalities#but to their relationship to family and love in general#kinda like love languages in a way#Mikey with his chains and time abilities values being around his family the most - he wants them to experience living in the moment togethe#Donnie is someone who is 100% a gift giver to show his love - his constructs are exactly that aren’t they? gifts of his mind#Raph is someone who willingly bears the weight of the shield - he protects his family like the best big brother possible#and Leo - he goes off on his own a lot but his mind is constantly on his family anyway#like a sailor at sea no matter how far he travels the compass always point in one direction - and for him that compass points home#even if he can’t make it back - it’s still there#and that’s enough

I'm encountering a problem that nobody else on Earth ever has had before, Because even after all these weeks i still feel starved for Ena dream bbq themed brain stimulation 24/7 as if im a guy crawling through the desert on nothing but a radish or whatever the joke is. But I don't like it anywhere
Like youtube is scary and I refuse to watch like 95% of dream bbq themed videos being put out right now. Twitter i did unfortunately check for like art and stuff from time to time but it's Twitter so I'm basically dooming myself to irreversible psychic damage. It's SO. so bad over there. And the tumblr tag here. Well ..................
So my options have become limited to my like 6 (Shoutout. AND COUNTING!) Ena mutuals on here Except now we get to the other part of my problem,Because i have nothing better to do than think about my game a lot of the time #mygame. But Believe it or not Crazy i know, The handful of bloggers i trust To talk about dbbq cannot be online 24/7 and also cannot be online at the sporadic and random times i am online. Such as midnight on a sunday.
So in conclusion: I have the hardest life of anyone that's ever lived. ever. In other conclusion: Come play toys with me

Might be going insane or might be cooking. I don't know but I need to throw my Missing Link speculation into the void.
Also special thanks to @starlightwayfinder for pointing out the things that had me putting these pieces together in the first place. This is really just me building (a lot) on their initial idea lol
(Spoilers the ML Beta Test and the January ML Leak)
The leak in question.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(It's only kind of relevant but I figured I'd include it anyways.)
This leak reveals that it is possible, hell, even likely, that Destiny Islands will be in ML. Of course, this idea was already floating around with the whole nameless tropical-ish island in the beta tests, but this adds a whole other layer of proof for its inclusion.
With that note made, I'd like to point out some interesting things about Destiny Islands.
Destiny Islands seems to have a connection to the Realm of Darkness.
This is shown when Kairi's letter shows up on the Dark Margin (But hey... isn't it interesting that the Dark Margin looks the way it does in the first place? Not hard evidence by any means but definitely something to keep in mind).
2. The door in the Secret Place.
This is something that is specifically shown in the ML trailer even.
Tumblr media
Everything is Connected.
3. It has knowledge of the outside worlds
This is because of Xehanort, of course, but keep it in mind. It'll be relevant later.
While I was talking to Starlight about the leak, she took a sidebar to talk about how excited she is to learn more about the Child of Destiny and the situation surrounding the prophecy.
I mentioned the fact that Destiny Islands was one of the worlds on the list, then they brought up this exchange from DR.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(insert screenshot here)
The rules can be changed.
What an interesting thing to bring up and never mention again, huh? And Vor's "But why would anyone do that?" is so leading, you know? It really makes me wonder what might've been cut out of the game. Or... well... maybe this isn't just set up for Dark Road... maybe it's set up for something else.
Something in Missing Link.
We don't know whether or not the Child of Destiny prophecy is real. Or, let me rephrase that, we don't know if it was really written in the Book of Prophecies.
I would like to claim that it isn't, and my evidence for that is hidden in plain sight.
Sora is not seen in any of the worlds in KHUX.
Just to be thorough, the Disney worlds in UX (other than Wreak it Ralph) are future projections (according to the Book of Prophecies) of the worlds you are going to. Other than Olympus, they follow the plots of the movie decently loyally with some extra side quests thrown in.
And I understand that's like, "yeah, no kidding. They just didn't want to put him there because something something Player fills in his spot or they just wanted to follow the plot of the movies because it's easier or whatever", but a) this really would not be the first time (or the last time) Nomura would use the 'it's just a video game thing, its not that deep' to hide something in plain sight (Riku fusing with the dream eaters anybody?) and b) Cloud is there.
If they were just following the movies, why would Cloud be there? If Cloud is there in the future, then why isn't Sora? Or the Wayfinders for that matter?
The future written in the Book of Prophecies (at least at that point) does not include them and the Disney worlds different because of it.
(To address the rules of time travel, which kinda contradict the idea of being able to change the future, this isn't time travel. That is to say, the rules could be different. We don't know. Nomura hasn't told us.)
"Now that's cool and all, but how does that tie in to ML, and the Child of Destiny, and all that other stuff you were talking about earlier?"
Well, why does Sora leave the islands? Because of Riku. Why does Riku want to leave the islands? Because he wants to explore the outside worlds. Why does Riku know about the outside worlds? Because of, not only Terra, but Xehanort.
Why was Xehanort taken Destiny Islands in the first place?
If there was no Child of Destiny prophecy, Xehanort would never have left the islands because he wouldn't have even been there, and there would have been no light for Terra to follow to Destiny Islands to show Riku other worlds were real or give him a Keyblade.
And even if the world had fallen to darkness anyways, without a Keyblade, neither Sora nor Riku would've been able to travel between worlds.
But, obviously, that isn't how the games went. There is a Child of Destiny prophecy. So, if it didn't come from the Book of Prophecies then where did it come from?
Brain (and/or Player) could've made the Child of Destiny up as a ploy to try and change fate.
This may seem like it comes out of nowhere, but whether or not you can change the future that is written is something that Ava and Brain even talk about in KHUX.
youtube
Brain spends all of UX trying to change the future by not reading the Book of Prophecies. After that failed so spectacularly, who's to say he wouldn't try and take a more proactive approach this time.
So, remember all the way back, close to the beginning of the post when Starlight had brought up that scene from DR?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think avoiding darkness prevailing and the light expiring might be a good reason.
We did it, we made it past all that build up and to the actual speculation/theory.
Brain (and/or Player) made up the Child of Destiny prophecy and, because the world was still reforming at the time, was able to will it into existence on Destiny Islands.
They tried to make it Xehanort (avoiding his fate as the prophesied Dark Seeker) by moving him there, but that didn't work. Despite everything, the real Child of Destiny (either Sora or Riku depending on your opinions) was born years later. Making the prophecy real, but not in a time Brain or Player would live to see.
There are probably loose threads in here so feel free to pick at them or add stuff to this or what have you. Might come back and add more later but I'm too tired to keep writing. What I put down was the gist.
Hope y'all enjoyed my insane rambling. I feel like I'm loosing my mind lol

hm..... pomni taking peoples hand as a repeating image in the show..... happens in ep 1, with ragatha, its kinda evoked with her reaching for the final exit door, ep 2 is pretty blatant with it i dont need to say anything else on that, and in episode 3 the scene with kinger..... episode 4 doesnt have anything with this i dont think (i COULD technically say her raising her hand at the beginning of the ep but that is a MASSIVE stretch and doesnt fit with what the other instances seem to be representing. her waving at gummigoo MAYBE but the image just really isnt present in the episode, looking at it realistically) but im thinking about this...... cus i feel like its probably notable in the dream sequence in ep 2 that its her arm that gets all fucked up
#tadc#i need to look thru all these and note which of her hands it is these happen w...#i ALSO still need to make my color theory and my door theory#well... less of a theory#more me overanalyzing specific repeated images in the show for possible motifs HAHA#its not really theories... but it is fun!#also my color thing has to do w the idea that diff colors in the show represent different things#i think red blue and green in particular are EXTREMELY important#it feels intentional that the only of the main cast with green as a constant in their design is caine and gummigoo...#and now that i think abt it caines blue eye lines up with ragathas button eye#PLUS . pomnis eyes being red and blue...#i think blue has to do w the game and green has to do w... smth?#i gotta think on it more#and the door thing is that like#i feel like doors are a repeating image in the show too#all the diff doors pomni opens trying to find caine. the exit doors. the bedroom doors (and pomni opening hers to ragatha).#the normal and scary doors. the gate to the dumbwaiter. the door out of the hall of the damned. the door to zoobles room#the front door of spudsys. (the lack of doors in wherever it is jax goes). the door out of caines office#theres probably a case for the portals to the adventures being related butttt waves hand#look doors are normal in fiction doors are a normal thing but LOOK. if youre gonna spend the whole pilot talking about doors#and then make it a big component of ep 3#im gonna get suspicious that youre using it as a symbol for smth ok....#(or repeatedly showing visuals of pomnis hand reaching other ppls hands)#(maybe the hole to the basement too but thatsss more of a stretch. but its certainly an entryway)#(smth smth its not shown visually in ep 4 because it happens more explictitly than in other eps. maybe?)#(...or maybe ep 3 was supposed to be the last usage of that imagery buuuut i dont think so i think itll come back... eventually. maybe ep 9#the door to spudsys gets a special shoutout bc like#i feel like the show is very obviously doing some things when it shows pomni behind it as it gets closed#something something. gummigoo is content and can 'leave' and she cant and shes accepting that#i mean i think shes given up on going home by this ep so i feel like its more of like. a letting go of gummigoo

Papyrus and Sans moved to Snowdin
So, for anyone who didn't know, Papyrus and Sans did not grow up in Snowdin. They moved there and its never been explained where they lived before that.
Tumblr media
According to the bunny shopkeeper, they just showed up one day! (Similar to how Sans just shows up one day with his brother in Deltarune)
Which is why this Q&A is so neat!!!
Tumblr media
Where did Papyrus and Sans live BEFORE Snowdin??? Somewhere with green grass, apparently. God I need more answers.

School Spirits S2E7 Spoilers ish?
So we didn't see Sandra this episode. what if on the way from the bar she gets in a wreck, like she's done before. She gets taken to the hospital, dies/goes into a coma, and is with her husband in hospital limbo. Now depending on your side of Maddie lives/dies, it could be used for either side. Maddie feels horrible about her mom dying/in a coma at the hospital with her unable to be there so Xavier tells her her dad is still there.

Monomon the teacher backstory headcanon~
I've expanded quite a bit on Monomon's backstory recently and wanted to share what I have so far!
To explain Monomon's past I will first have to expand a bit on the relations between Hallownest and Unn's territory in the west. (I won't go into all the details; it's a long story XD)
~
After having established their kingdom, building up their city and expanding into the fungal waste the pale rulers began negotiating with the people of Greenpath (which at this time included what would eventually become queen's garden and fog canyon.) For expansion into the west.

While the mosskin opposed the king and queen's propositions for as long as they were able, one small branch of creatures, also creations of Unn, (who we have taken to calling the flower-kin for simplicity sake)
The species of which Isma belongs~

Felt that Unn had abandoned them and willingly joined Hallownest.
These acid resistant people lived in the area of land that would become the fog canyon.
We have an elaborate history involving a third branch of greenpath people called the Thornkin, (legend goes that they were born of Unn's awoken wrath after the Queen of Hallownest claimed half her territory) there was a battle between these two groups and as a result of the conflict the Thornkin were all killed or driven into hiding and the flowerkin people faced a massive loss.
(Also the thorns that grow all over the queens garden are a result of the thornkin's attempt to take back the land.)

Most all the surviving flowerkin moved into the Capitol city, (the great knight Isma is a descendant of these survivors.)
One particular survivor eventually caught the attention of the king himself.
After moving into the city, Madam Mosma soon established herself as a successful historian and bioscientist.
She had personally overseen several historic and scientific breakthroughs and was soon appointed onto the King's council and worked directly underneath him.
While working for the king she grew in skill, and gained his complete trust and respect.
The king had her pass on her knowledge to help the kingdom to advance, and for that she was titled the teacher of the Hallownest.
After years of service, the king finally bestowed upon her an especially important gift and corresponding position.
He granted her immortality, and with that, the responsibility of collecting and persevering all the kingdom's knowledge in the newly constructed kingdom's archives.
The archives were hidden away in the, largley overgrown, territory that had belonged to her people.
Her birthplace.

After having been given this grand position the ambitious teacher, believing she could reach the level of the Gods, started on her greatest ever scientific expansion.
The creation of the Oomas Uomas and the fog canyon.
Madam Mosma created a whole new environment and species, that were completely devoted to her.

As stated before in a past hc post, the king, upon discovering her attempts to achieve the title of God-hood
punished his once trusted servant.
He needed to set an example but still valued her greatly, so he chose not to take away her immortality or position,
Rather he took away her true form.

Mosma was transformed by the king, and her name was changed to Monomon.
Monomon the teacher, over time, adjusted to this new body, and remained loyal to her ruler. She continued to serve him (with the assistance of her own creations) for a hundred years or so before the infection took over the kingdom and she sacrificed herself as a dreamer.
Tldr: The teacher was a creation of Unn (same species as Isma) named Mosma, who joined Hallownest, became a reknown scholar and advisor of the king,
Was given immortality and the position of keeping the kingdom's knowledge.
She created the fog canyon and her own devoted lifeforms as an act of hubris.
Was then punished by having her true form taken from her,
And that's how she became Monomon!
