Megs rlly was jus projecting his salt on Star as usual there. Is kinda funny to me how in TF1 Star was so just down for the punching each other thing and is like "yeah come at me kid, dewit-" but then the GUN comes out

and he's like SHIT and is like "dude you're taking a roughhousing vibe to the incorrect level cHiLl-" and I can only imagine how that's gonna end up with Megs starting the cons at the end. Cuz the Elite Guard having the "Strength above all" mentality just encourages the want to fight about it. Like I def think Star follows Megatron at the end because the dude fuckin broke Sentinel in half and that show of Power ought to have been impressive. So he'd jus be like aight hell yeah, you killed that guy I hate, cool. But when it starts getting to actually /working/ together for an extended period of time, then Stars far thicker tactical/military experience would just get more apparent to him when seeing dis Buckethead kid just being feral and sad over his ex. Also the idea of Star being older than Megs in TF1 is very trippy, but like if Star fought in the war while Megs was forged after Sentinel was in charge than it's stands to reason they have a decent age gap from those 50yrs.

I just had a huge realisation yesterday and I wanted to share this after going through some pretty horrible stuff over the weekend: Something I've always asked myself ever since getting into G1 Transformers was "why do you like Starscream so much even though he's a narcissistic bully? Why are you, someone who is a victim of narcissistic abuse, taking comfort in a narcissistic character?" Well, I think I finally figured it out. Because Starscream is also a victim of that very same abuse. I mean, he's beaten, called names, bullied, unappreciated, abused, and put through the wringer…and he internalised all that abuse because he knew no other way. He had no one to turn to, and the few bots who did support him, he treated like dirt. Once he had that freedom and power, he abused it and became the very thing that abused him. I have no doubt he was always self-centred, selfish, had a huge ego, etc. before all that but honestly? I think Megatron's abuse caused him to turn out the way he did. I could have turned out that way and it's a little scary, some of the parallels I'm drawing with him.

@ichbinmeltdown wrote a great analysis on Starscream that I want to share here:

"Megatron was abusive as hell to Starscream. He treated him horribly, and I legitimately almost cried a few times watching it. There's an episode called Starscream's Brigade that introduces the Combaticons, and I think that perfectly demonstrates the cycle of abuse. The entire world is against Starscream at pretty much every turn throughout the series, but none more so than Megatron. Every word out of his speech synthesizer to Starscream is to berate him, and he's constantly throwing him around, beating him, even ripping out his speech synthesizer in a scene from a previous episode (Hoist Goes Hollywood, IIRC). His own teammates don't like him, and even his brothers- Skywarp and Thundercracker, going off of the idea they're brothers- just... allow Megatron to abuse him. (Not to get into headcanons here, but I personally believe that Megatron's abuse fractured the Elite Trine's family dynamic. They are still brothers and love each other, but they're all too afraid of Megatron to really... stand up for each other as they did in the past.) And Starscream seemed to just snap in this episode. He treated the Combaticons poorly, and even when teaming up with Shockwave, he subjected him to a lot of the same ridicule and torment that Megatron put him through. He failed to realize Shockwave was the one of the only bots who would give him a chance- and unfortunately lashed out at him, which ruined his chances of Shockwave ever being a true friend and ally to him. Once Starscream had finally gotten a taste of power and not being under another bot's boot, he too became the very thing that he lived in fear of. And that really is how the cycle goes- when you're finally free from abuse, it can be tempting to overcompensate and take back all the power you were robbed of, at any cost whatsoever. Starscream, like D16 in Transformers One, snapped up this opportunity."

And the sad thing is, I've seen this in real life and I've internalised some of the abuse I've dealt with too. I'm not proud of it. Like the Seeker Trine, my own family dynamic has been fractured by similar abuse. I know there's traces of narcissism in my behaviour too, and I'm NOT proud of it. Maybe this is why I can forgive Starscream for being a narc, because I can see a little bit of my own personality/attitude/behaviour in him. Maybe it's because I know where it came from, I get why he acts that way and it's not just random and out of the blue. Maybe it's because--and I know this is a bold statement--I don't think he would do some of the stuff my own family did to me (blah blah blah he's a fictional character).

I didn't mean for this to turn into a long rant, so

TLDR: I finally figured out that part of the reason I love and relate to Starscream so much despite him internalising some of the abuse I went through, is because he was the victim of that same abuse.

  C'est une nouvelle marotte de nos chaînes de télévision : c'est elles et elles seules qui détiennent la vérité, et il ne fait pas bon oser prononcer devant leurs caméras quelque chiffre que ce soit qui diffère un tant soit peu de celui --qui est réputé bon, puisqu'elles vous le disent-- qui a l'heur de leur plaire. Le seul fait que tel speaker pense que  le ''bon chiffre est de... que telle chose vaut tant... ou que tel total se monte à tant ou est de tant...'' sanctifie le dit chiffre et condamne sans appel le méchant bougre qui en avait un autre en tête --même s'il est solidement soutenu, soigneusement démontré, connu de tous (sauf de ''qui de droit'', évidemment).

Alors, pour que le brave peuple sache bien qui a le droit de détenir ''le Vrai'', le ''Beau'', le Bon'', ils ont eu une idée de génie, inspirée des USA comme on pouvait s'y attendre : créatifs, certes, mais dans le suivisme automatique jusqu'aux mots utilisés. Mais nos correcteurs incorrects ne se sont même pas rendu compte qu'ils étaient anticonstitutionnels en se servant de mots prohibés pour remettre en question toute affirmation par eux choisie, sortie des paroles (par exemple) deux candidats déclarés ou pas à la Présidence de la République. Le message est clair : tout le monde ment, sauf les merveilleux journalistes que la France a la chance d'avoir... à moins que ce soit eux qui cherchent à nous avoir, et jusqu'au trognon ! (A titre personnel, je me rallie à ce second membre de la phrase, sûr de ne pas avoir tort !). Une remarque, avant de continuer : aux Etats-Unis, cette technique journalistique s'applique également à ce que dit la chaîne. Mais pas en France !

Cette ridicule attitude d'esprit (je devrais écrire : ''d'absence totale de tout esprit'' !), qui est à l'opposé de tout ce qui est vrai, juste et bon, fait irrésistiblement penser à la ridicule antienne que  nos gouvernants, décidément en dessous de tout et prêts à n'importe quoi pour violer les citoyens, nous assènent 20 fois par jour sur les ondes ''On peut débattre de tout, sauf des chiffres'', sentence absurde s'il en est, qui tombe comme par hasard après des rafales de chiffres partiels, orientés à en être malhonnêtes, et même carrément faux. Mais voyons, bande de Jocrisses ! C'est justement des chiffres qu'il faut discuter... et vous en donnez de belles preuves à longueur de ''JT'' et dans chacun de vos ''coups de comm'' ! De tout ce qui peuple notre France, c'est tout ce qui touche aux fonctions ''officielles'' et ''journalistique'' qui crève, littéralement, de passer son temps à raconter tout et n'importe quoi !

Pour en revenir à ces fast-checkeurs/euses frangliches, qu'on pourrait appeler des ''vérificateurs rapides'' sans qu'ils s’en sentent diminués dans leur importance historique, je ne saurais assez décourager tout jeune qui, ayant traversé la rue, se verrait proposer ce genre de non-fonction et d'anti-métier : c'est le plus sûr moyen de recevoir des coups, de se couvrir de ridicule et de rougir de honte chez soi, tout seul, longtemps après les faits, comme cette jolie blonde (une blonde , en plus ! Mais quelle erreur de casting ! C'est tendre des verges --si j'ose !-- pour prendre des coups !) qui a été mandatée pour contrer deux vieux briscards de la confrontation, en les corrigeant grossièrement sur des chiffres qui, pas de pot pour elle, étaient inattaquables : bien sûr, que des gens, appauvris par la mauvaise gestion que font des finances publiques les mandants de ces pseudo-vérificateurs (de rien), coupent leur chauffage certains jours en hiver... et bien sûr, que la fraude fiscale réelle n'a rien (mais alors... rien de rien) à voir avec la fraude constatée par des officines débordées ! Faut-il être stupides, déconnectés, ''dans sa bulle'', pour ne pas se rendre compte que, comme l'a relevé Eric Zemmour, ils sont ridicules ! Et ne parlons pas de la responsabilité des chefs de cette pauvre fille envoyée au casse-pipe : au temps où l'honneur n'était pas qu'un vain mot, ils auraient démissionné !

Le comble en la matière est sans doute atteint par TF1, où l'omni-sciente Anne-Claire Coudray, auréolée de son savoir réputé universel puisqu'elle présente le JT du week-end, cqfd... prononce le jugement-qui-tue : ''Voyons ce qu'il en est vraiment'' (sic !), avant de demander à une pauvre Samira ElGadir (pas très jolie mais tellement sympathique dans sa modestie et sa surprise de se retrouver coordinatrice de la cellule ''fact checking'' de la chaîne), de confirmer ou d'infirmer ce qui vient d'être dit par n'importe quel représentant de la droite --et Zemmour en partculier... ou par toute personne qui aurait sur le covid, la vaccination et le passe-mensongèrement-prétendu-sanitaire une opinion autre que servilement suiviste.  S'ensuivra un passage en revue par la-dite Samira de tous les truismes officiels, mille fois entendus et mille fois prouvés faux, sur le sujet. Et le verdict tombera, à chaque fois : ''Complotiste !'' (On peut noter que pas une seule fois, on a entendu dire : ''vérification faite, c'est exact''. Comme Méphisto dans Faust, le ou la ''fact-checkeur-euse'' est, et n'est que ‘’l'esprit (le manque d’esprit) qui toujours dit non’’.

Ce qui est très surprenant, c'est la passivité des redevables de la taxe-télé devant ce nouveau machin, inutile mais budgétivore ... et pire encore, acceptent ces jugement à l'emporte-pièce qui ne démontrent rien d'autre que la prétention à toujours avoir raison de ceux qui y font appel. La phrase d"Anne-Claire Coudray est révélatrice de cet état de déformation des esprits : il suffirait qu'une speakerine affirme quelque chose pour que cette information (qui n'énonce rien de plus que ''ce que dit, croit ou pense Samira ElGadir'' !) devienne LA Vérité. La formule elle-même est viciée ''dans la masse'', tant la différence est absolue entre ''Voyons ce qu'il en est'', d'une part, et ''Voyons ce qu'a trouvé rapidement notre Vérificatrice, à l'aide de notre logiciel dont personne ne connaît les critères de décision et des robots qui l'appliquent''. La présentation à elle seule arrive à  transformer le jour en nuit...

En résumé... Dire ''Fast'' (= rapide)... à la rigueur. Les progrès à venir en matière d'intelligence artificielle vont même permettre d'aller encore plus vite... sans se rapprocher pour autant de quelque vérité supérieure à l'affirmation contestée... dont le choix reste d'ailleurs un sujet de contestation illimité. Quant au ''checking'' (= la vérification)... sûrement pas, et on peut même dire ''jamais'', sans doute (l'exemple des coupures de courant de Mélenchon est frappant : le modèle utilisé par BFM-TV a cité l'existence d'une Loi... là où le tribun parlait de modes de vie et de hiérarchie de dépenses... On est là dans deux mondes qui ne se rencontreront jamais et qui, justement, marquent les limites actuelles de l'intelligence artificielle, qui n'a jamais autant que dans ce cas-là mérite son  qualificatif ''artificielle'' et aussi peu son OPA sur le mot ''intelligence !). Serions-nous entrés dans une ère de la ''post-vérité'', où ne pourrait plus être vrai que ce qui serait ''décidé vrai'' ? Big brother est de retour ?

Une idée, en passant : et si on supprimait tout ce qui ne sert à rien ? En écrivant ces mots, je me suis souvenu d'une très jolie phrase de ''GBS'' (George Bernard Shaw) : ''Don't bother me with facts, they only confuse the issue'' (traduction très libre : Ne m'emmerdez pas avec les faits, ils ne font que tout compliquer''. Mais suis-je bête ! Nos cuistres-aux-commandes n'ont pas la moindre idée sur qui a été George Bernard Shaw. C'est peut-être là que le bât les blesse, d'ailleurs, ces ânes

So funny story, I actually kinda sorta know the episode names for the rest in of the season (I have for a while now), but since me finding out was accidental (long story) I can’t disclose them since I don’t want to get anyone in trouble. But what I can say is before it was confirmed false by feri, I already knew they were false since I have the names, which is why I didn’t post em, in case anyone was curious
