i dusted off my old instapaper account and imported my pocket backlog, and they immediately offered me a three month trial of the premium plan

so that's nice

#original #it used to be my go-to because i could send stuff to kindle which for a while was vital #i don't know if i'll keep premium but it's a pretty serviceable pocket replacement #i already used up my readwise reader trial but it's too fucking expensive and also overkill #i managed to get shiori installed on the NAS but then couldn't figure out how to get my pocket stuff in there so i might uninstall it #i'm so fucking bad at doing docker stuff on the NAS it's unreal #every couple months i check in on pinepods and see if anyone's written a guide for dummies yet lol

Woo got Linux working! On a related note I have gotten over any fear of breaking things through the command line and also can now roll back to an earlier system backup. Yes those are related. In my defense, breaking things in interesting ways is a great way to figure out what's actually going wrong.

StormClan? Hmm... haven't caught up on Ivypool's Heart leaks yet, so I've gotta see what they've done. No that I'm entirely opposed to there being more Clans out there, mind you, but it feels Odd that they're adding yet another one when the main five already have trouble distinguishing themselves.

We just got a 6th Clan; but WarriorClan still has no unique content dedicated to it. AND they just introduced park cats. AND the Guardians are still out there. AND the Sisters and the Tribe. Not to mention that they've still got Sleekwhisker and Sol out there as loose plot threads...

So with that all in perspective, 7 Clans sounds excessive. I think I can make it work, but I do worry about the canonical implications of what seems like a pretty thoughtless choice.

I guess this is what happens when you have a team of writers who can't write anything except travel books. The cats just walk places, experience a Koolabi Mandated Hijinks Scene, and get involved in some other guys' drama.

#My first thought having been doing other things is that maybe StormClan was a breakaway group from RiverClan #Like Splashstar actually stays around and after being exiled manages to fracture RC #Making a Clan that actually follows his own ideals as Frostpaw/star installs her own reforms #But that sounds TOO cool and makes TOO much sense.#Lemmie go catch up on the WC deets since I've been away

Here's a better quality of my Sherry drawing that I posted before! I managed to get my scanner to work on my super old and weak laptop without it constantly crashing, so expect better quality images from now on~

Also, here's a phone vs scanner comparison:

The scanner one is closer to how the drawing looks IRL~

#story of seasons #harvest moon #sherry #sophie #grand bazaar #the only way i can use the scanner without crashing the laptop is by not having the drivers and stuff installed #meaning i can't adjust the settings on how the images are scanned #i have to later edit them in a separate image editing program #(btw it took me a bunch of tries to find a program that wouldn't crash while editing the images)#but I've managed to make the scanned images look pretty close to what they're supposed to look withing the limitations #so I think it's a win~#I'll scan the other images I've already posted at some later point~
