The Paradox of Knowing
What if everything we know is backward? What if up has always been down, and down was only ever up? What if the world we see is not the world that is— but only the echo of what we’ve been told to see?
What if the soul is not within the body— but the body within the soul? What if time is not moving forward— but folding in on itself, like breath, like waves?
What if heaven was never above, but within? What if God has never been watching from a throne, but breathing in our lungs, whispering in the spaces between our thoughts?
The Hindus say the world is Maya—an illusion. The Gnostics spoke of a false reality, a veil drawn over the eyes of the sleeping. The Taoists remind us that opposites are one, that the way cannot be spoken, only known.
And what of the dreamers? The mystics? Those who closed their eyes and saw more, not less— who turned inward and found a universe, while the outward world remained a shadow?
What if we are not lost, but inverted? What if fear is only the absence of remembering? What if we have been turned inside out— taught to trust the seen and doubt the unseen, to seek truth in the shifting and ignore the eternal?
But what if we flipped it back? What if we turned right side in? What if instead of looking outward for answers, we became still enough to hear the ones already waiting?
Would the world dissolve, or would it finally make sense? Would we wake up, or remember that we were never truly asleep?
What if everything we seek has been within us all along? What if the way home is not out there, but in here?
Would you dare to turn yourself inside out just to see what was always hidden in plain sight?

VulcaTrojan what the fuck.
as promised: here is the crackship writing. as decided by The Wheel™ itself. have fun losing your shit over this.
———
"And—"
"Can you stop talking about that Vulcanus guy now? You've been talking about him for the past two hours."
Trojan stopped talking, before glancing towards Tempo, who was fixing a broken part of Shifta's body. Something malfunctioned within that specific part, so he had to fix her for a bit. Trojan, as usual, accompanied Tempo throughout the entirety of it, but he can't seem to stop talking about a certain angel from Gyroscopia.
"Huh??? Why?? You got tired of it already? It's only been two hours. Imagine me talking about him for an entire day." Trojan laughed, before continuing. "You'd be a goner by the time I'd be done!" Tempo then looked at his friend, a deadpan look on his face. "I mean- yeah. Obviously I'd dip out immediately. What's so special about this Vulcanus guy to the point where you're constantly rambling on and on about him?" He then asked, an eyebrow raised at the blue haired man.
Trojan could feel his face heat up slightly. "Uh...I dunno...he's cool looking, has...um, cool vibes. I like his wings! Yeah, and- uh..." Tempo noticed Trojan's sudden change in behaviour, and thus, his feeling of suspicion rose even more. "And...? Don't tell me—"
"Shit."
"What do you mean "shit"?!"
"I kinda like him, Temporal."
"...Oh for fuck's sake- of course you do. You're gay as shit-"
"HEY!"
———
"There was this guy I met a few days ago."
Inverted World's attention had been caught the moment she heard those words come out of Vulcanus' mouth. She turned around to face him, her curiosity rising in an instant. "Ooh! Really? Who? What's he like?" She asked. Vulcanus scratches the back of his head, before sighing.
"Trojan. That's his name. He's someone from Modelista I coincidentally met while I visited Phi Central." Hearing this, Inverted World quickly grabbed her drink and seated herself across from Vulcanus, clear enthusiasm shown on her face as she urged; "Go on." Vulcanus stifled a laugh at that, before finally continuing.
"He's kinda funny. He kept jokingly flirting with me the entire time we had a conversation. I'm not gonna lie..." Vulcanus paused for a bit, before nervously continuing. "...It kinda worked a bit on me, hehe." Inverted World raised an eyebrow at that. "Oh...? So you're saying that you...?"
"...Maybe."
"Haa...you just met him a few days ago and you're already falling for him? You're hopeless at this rate, Vulca..."
"Ah- don't say that!"
———
"...Mighty."
"Wh- what???"
"How the fuck did this happen. They have nothing in common and had nothing to do with each other prior to this. What the fuck did you do."
"I- I didn't do shit??????"
"Like Hell I'd believe that! This is like- like...!"
"Like seeing a silly crack pairing on the internet?"
"...I don't know. Maybe."
"Pfft- yeah. Y'know what? I'll just let this play out and see what happens~

Personality of your future lover / / pac reading
TIP JAR - FREE READINGS - PAID READINGS

1->2
3->4
Group 1
Cards: strength, two of swords, five of swords (reversed), two of pentacles, the world (reversed), three of wands (reversed)
This person is a fighter at heart, with an inner resilience that helps them overcome life’s challenges with grace and quiet determination. Whether a man or woman, they’re someone who has learned to tame their inner chaos, balancing strength with compassion. However, they can struggle with indecision, sometimes torn between two paths or two major choices in life. They dislike conflict and have likely walked away from toxic situations in the past, but they still feel the weight of unresolved issues or unfulfilled goals. Ambitious yet cautious, they juggle responsibilities while dreaming of a better future, though fear of failure sometimes holds them back. Their personality is one of perseverance, quiet courage, and someone who is learning to trust their instincts and plan boldly for what’s next.
Group 2
Cards: ten of cups (reversed), knight of wands, ten of swords, the magician, queen of wands (reversed), knight of cups
This is someone fiery, charismatic, and full of life, though their emotional world has been marked by turbulence. Whether male or female, they carry the scars of past heartbreak, which makes them deeply passionate but also somewhat guarded when it comes to relationships. They are ambitious dreamers, always in motion, pursuing their desires with the energy of a Knight of Wands. As a lover, they’re magnetic, deeply charming, and able to sweep you off your feet. However, they sometimes struggle with emotional depth, masking insecurity with confidence or action. Beneath it all, they are a romantic at heart who longs for true connection but might fear being vulnerable again. They have the potential to manifest anything they desire, using their natural charisma and creativity to bring their dreams to life.
Group 3
Cards: the sun (reversed), king of pentacles (reversed), nine of pentacles, ten of pentacles, six of pentacles, the high priestess (reversed)
This is a person who seems to have it all together on the surface but carries hidden doubts or struggles with self-worth. They may come across as successful, stable, and generous, but their inverted cards reveal that their achievements can feel hollow at times. Whether man or woman, they’ve worked hard to create security and abundance in their life, but they may feel disconnected from their intuition or emotional world. They love deeply and enjoy taking care of those they care for, whether through material gifts or acts of service. However, they can sometimes struggle to connect on a deeper level, hiding behind practicality or busyness. They are a paradox: confident in their abilities yet quietly yearning for emotional depth and self-discovery.
Group 4
Cards: the high priestess, the wheel of fortune, ace of wands, queen of wands (reversed), judgment, nine of cups
This person has a magnetic, almost mystical aura, someone who seems to be guided by fate or intuition. They are deeply in tune with the cycles of life and often find themselves at the center of significant changes or opportunities. Whether male or female, they are creative, ambitious, and driven by their passions, though their confidence can sometimes come across as intimidating or even stubborn. They are not afraid of transformation and have likely been through powerful moments of personal growth, making them wise and insightful. Their charm lies in their authenticity, they know what they want and aren’t afraid to claim it. They embody the energy of the Nine of Cups: someone who finds fulfillment within themselves but is also capable of sharing their joy with others. A relationship with them would feel like destiny, full of passion and purpose.

thinking through the categories of people who "support Israel" in the conventional sense of the term (i.e. support the overall ideology that underpins the current state of Israel and the actions that it takes) and it seems like there are five main categories:
those who think that the Jewish people need a state devoted to the defence of their interests, generally backed by an appeal to history, which is at least a simple belief to explain and argue with
those who are specifically fixated against Islamic religion or Arab nationalism and see Israel as a bulwark against it, there was a lot of this in the early stages of the second Iraq War and the previous Israeli invasion of Lebanon and it is at least still debatable
those who look to Jewish prophecies of Israel as delivered by supernatural covenant, which is an easy belief to explain but basically impossible to argue with as it's crazy iron age shit
those who look to Christian prophecies of Israel, like book of revelations filtered through 1980s American evangelical preaching hastening the end times shit, which is a belief so crazy it makes Jewish prophecies seem restrained and rational (and also mildly paradoxical in that it seems to suggest that Israel should be protected now so that Jesus gets to trash it later, but again you can't argue with somebody uninterested in making sense)
those who buy in to QAnon-style new age antisemitic conspiracy but invert the polarity, so they believe that the world is run by a secret committee of Jewish overlords but they are okay with that as Israel protects us from the moon men invasion or the demons that lurk in the planet's core, a belief you struggle to argue with as it's not even clear where you would possibly start

Twist for your story
Ever wondered why a well-crafted twist is crucial in a story? It's like the element of surprise that keeps you engaged, challenges your expectations, and ultimately makes the narrative memorable. A great twist is the heart of intrigue in storytelling. Here are some you can use!
The Sentient Object: Twist: An ordinary object, like a book, a mirror, or a piece of jewelry, is revealed to be sentient and possesses its own consciousness. It becomes a key player in the story, guiding or manipulating the characters.
The Collective Memory: Twist: A group of characters, seemingly unrelated, share a mysterious collective memory or dream that connects them in unexpected ways. They must work together to decipher the meaning behind these shared experiences.
The Language of Magic: Twist: Magic in your world is governed by a unique language or code. As the story unfolds, characters discover that the language itself is sentient and can influence events and outcomes.
The Eldritch Revelation: Twist: Characters stumble upon ancient texts or artifacts that contain forbidden knowledge about cosmic horrors or eldritch beings. The revelation of this knowledge threatens their sanity and forces them to confront incomprehensible entities.
The Mythical Betrayal: Twist: A character believed to be a mythical hero or savior turns out to be the story's true villain, deceiving everyone around them. The actual hero must rise from obscurity to confront this unexpected antagonist.
The Reverse Time Travel: Twist: Instead of traveling to the past or future, characters unwittingly bring historical or future figures into their present. They must adapt to the challenges and paradoxes this brings, all while trying to return these displaced individuals.
The Living Ecosystem: Twist: The entire world or ecosystem of the story is revealed to be a living, interconnected entity, and the characters' actions have profound consequences on its well-being. They must make choices that protect or harm this sentient world.
The Forgotten Prophecy: Twist: Characters initially believe in a well-known prophecy, only to discover that the true prophecy has been hidden or forgotten, and its revelation drastically changes the course of their journey.
The Inverted Morality: Twist: A society where good is evil and evil is good is introduced, challenging characters' beliefs and forcing them to question their own moral compasses.
The Quantum Reality Shift: Twist: The story shifts between multiple parallel realities or dimensions, and characters must navigate the complexities of these shifting worlds to achieve their goals.
The Manipulative Reader: Twist: It is revealed that a character within the story has the ability to influence the actions and decisions of the other characters, essentially "writing" the story's plot from within.
The Protagonist Swap: Twist: Midway through the story, the perspective switches from the original protagonist to a secondary character, offering a fresh viewpoint and challenging readers' assumptions about the narrative's focus.

a planet called Homeworld razed to the ground huh?. its inhabitants — stuck-up upper-class racially prejudiced elites? the faction keeps haunting the edges of the narrative, i wouldn’t go as far as to say the actual narrative, but. somewhere out there beyond the page there’s a paradox peeking through . like boom with its imaginary enemy. i suppose this is inevitable — fp is a metatextual shadow of whatever “doctor who” tries to be at any given moment, and, like any inverted doppelganger, evil twin, malformed caricature, it pops up in the unlikeliest untoward places to spook the hell out of the doctor and us

DR RATIO'S CHESS GAME CUTSCENE DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE ????
Hello everybody ! I initially intended to make a complete analysis of the quest: Crown of the Mundane and the Divine, however, as I analyzed more thoroughly the first cutscene where Dr ratio appears in, I remarked something quite humours and, also, ridiculous !
The chess game is messed up
Based on these two images ( at the end of the cutscene ) :

Here's what Dr Ratio's chessboard looks like in what we will call the " Final sequence " :

Now, here we go !
First sequence

This is the first scene and right from the start, we can see that something is wrong : there is no double white pawns in the final scene.
We can surmise that more moves had been done off-screen, but it doesn't make sense at all when we can literally see him do only two moves during that cutscene.
We can also observe that the positions of the rooks and the knight are slightly off compared to how they are supposed to be in the finale scene. And the cause of that is the positions of the pawns and the white rook: considering the build of the chessboard, the black pawn is standing at the very corner, while it shouldn't ?
Second sequence

Then we have Ratio who makes his move.
In this sequence, the white rook is near two black pawns, at the other side of the board is the black king.
However, first of all, it should be impossible when both the white rook and the black pawn in first sequence were supposed to be in the corner of the last line, how can there be other pieces behind ? But it actually fixes the positions of the black rook and white knight that are now at the same places as the last sequence, but there's still so much things wrong.
According to the final sequence, the two black pawns are supposed to be around the black king, not far.
From the first image and the second one, the white rook is supposed to be at the same line of the black pawn, one case away from the white knight, and the black pawn on the left is supposed to be on the same line with the black king. Ratio moves the white rook one case forward, which aligns it with the white pawn and should make the white rook face directly the white knight.
However, for both second and final sequence, the white rook is standing at the exact same case where it was moved to ? How paradoxal ! It didn't move at all but it also did ???
Let's not comment on the fact there's no black bishop there either but there's one in the final sequence ?
Sequence 3

Here, it's even more confusing because we are obviously looking at Ratio sitting on the black side, as he was before.
However, the chessboard is inverted ! The black king stands more on his left white it was supposed to be on his right. Based on the second sequence, Ratio played the white rook ( that stood on the right side of board ) with his left hand meaning that the two pawns were to his right hand but suddenly they are aligned with his left arm ?
Sequence 4

And that's where it gets really messy ......
The only right thing there is the black knight that is correctly placed according to the next move Ratio will do and will be essentially the one and only piece logically placed from this sequence to the last.
Now, why the fuck is the white knight now standing diagonal to the black rook when the final sequence clearly shows that it's supposed to in front of it ?
And suddenly, there's a white bishop right in front of the black pawn and no double white pawn in sight. . . Where did they go ? What happened there ????
Let's not forget that according to the last sequence, the white bishop isn't even supposed to be there but next to the black rook.
Do we really need to point at the fact that in the last sequence the white rook stopped in the line of a white pawn but now it's standing in the line of a black one ?
Sequence 4

Ratio does his move, putting the black knight in the last line, in diagonale to the right of the black rook.
And it's now revealed that the piece right next to the black rook and facing the white knight is. . . A white pawn ? According to the first sequence there should have been a white pawn in the same line of the black rook but not right next to it, there should be a case between them, which mean it is supposed to be one of the missing white pawn from the first two sequences. One of them still missing since it had been replaced by a white bishop instead.
Now keep in memory that Ratio is standing on the black king side since the beginning.
Sequence 5

????? Why is he now sitting on the white side of the board ???
Okay, let's hypothesize that he turned the board around to play both sides. It doesn't even logically is possible. First of all, according to the last sequences, both the white and black kings stand on the left side of the board ( while Ratio is on the black side of it ).
Let's not comment on the fact the white king isn't remotely close to the corner as it may be hinted at with this image. But by simple physics of things, if he had indeed turned the board around, then the white king should be on his right side, not the left.
Then, right after, the traiblazer arrives in Ratio's vicinity. And guess what ....
Final sequence

But let's see the differences now, because there are more yes ! Let's zoom on the right side. Oh, what do I see ? Now the white knight is back in front of the black rook and the piece standing right at the side of the black rook isn't a white pawn but a white bishop ! Ah ??? And now there's a white pawn back and the black pawn disappeared replaced by a black bishop ! Where the fuck it had been pulled out from ? Now the white rook is in the same line of it.
We're back at the black side of the board ! Aya, bad cut isn't it.
Well, white rook sure had a lot of different partners in this cutscene !
I had made chess simulation pictures to show the evolution of Ratio chess game through the cutscene, unfortunately, trumblr doesn't allow more than 10 imported images. You may see it on my hoyolab post or the one I will do on my side account on TikTok.
Anyway, hoyo I hope you did not think nobody would notice that! Because I sure did! (I am insane)

Lit Hub: The Question of Homoeroticism in Whitman’s Poetry

Walt Whitman’s best poems demonstrate an almost unimaginable prescience; he and Dickinson, among 19th-century American poets, possess a nearly chilling self-consciousness, an acute self-analysis. Edward Carpenter, the British anarchist, writer, and champion of the Arts and Crafts movement whose life and romance were the model for E. M. Forster’s novel Maurice, wrote this elegant description of a visit with Whitman in 1877; the emphases are Carpenter’s own: “If I had thought before (and I do not know that I had) that Whitman was eccentric, unbalanced, violent, my first interview certainly produced quite a contrary effect. No one could be more considerate, I may almost say courteous; no one could have more simplicity of manner and freedom from egotistic wrigglings; and I never met any one who gave me more the impression of knowing what he was doing more than he did.” That there were words for homosexual behavior in Whitman’s day there can be no doubt. Social structures for enabling same-sex congress seem to have been a feature of life in the modern city at least since the later 18th century, when the “Molly houses” in London offered a zone of permission for transvestism. Herman Melville, in Redburn, carefully evokes the nattily dressed fellows who hang out in front of a downtown restaurant where opera singers perform; he means us to understand what these stylish outfits convey. Historian and theorist Luc Sante describes a 19th-century pamphlet that takes as its project the publication of the locations of various quite particular spots of diverse sexual practice in New York City—so that those informed of, say, the address of a bordello featuring willing boys can take special care to avoid this hazard. Trenchant evidence comes from Rufus Griswold’s review of the 1855 edition of Leaves of Grass: “We have found it impossible to convey any, even the most faint idea of style and contents, and of our disgust and detestation of them, without employing language that cannot be pleasing to ears polite; but it does seem that someone should, under circumstances like these, undertake a most disagreeable, yet stern duty. The records of crime show that many monsters have gone on in impunity, because the exposure of their vileness was attended with too great indelicacy. Peccatum illud horrible, inter Christianos non nominandum.” Which is all a way of saying that Whitman inscribes his sexuality on the frontier of modernity; he is writing into being—particularly in the “Calamus” poems of 1860, with their frank male-to-male loving, their assumption of equality on the part of the lovers—a new situation. He does not know how to proceed—he has no path —but he does it anyway. My guess is that he couldn’t have written “Calamus,” or the boldly homoerotic portions of the 1855 Leaves, even ten years later, as the advent of psychology increasingly led to a public perception of the normative, and imagery of the sacred family becomes the object of Victorian romance. As a category of identity—sodomite, invert, debauchee, pervert, Uranian—begins to emerge, so the poems with their claims of a loving, healthy, freely embraced same-sex desire become unwriteable, paradoxically, just as new language of homosexual identity begins to appear. Unwriteable, and, it would seem from Whitman’s later remarks, and some of his revisions, barely defensible. Carpenter and his readers were reaching for signposts of a gay identity when such a thing barely existed, but Whitman is ultimately a queer poet in the deepest sense of the word: he destabilizes, he unsettles, he removes the doors from their jambs. There is an uncanniness in “Song of Myself” and the other great poems of the 1850s that, for all his vaunted certainty, Whitman wishes to underscore. Again and again, he points us toward what, it seems, must remain folded in the buds beneath speech, since it cannot be brought to the surface. (Full article)

For some, the U.S. flag represents all America is revered for. “Old Glory” also touts the country’s ills with the same energy used to pridefully promote its promise. For many, its presence indicates that they are in inhospitable territory. Today’s inauguration of a president and regime committed to promoting disparity among the people of this nation, on Martin Luther King Day, highlights this paradox.
The United States is a brand and its flag is subject to its brand guidelines. The Flag Code stipulates that “the flag should not be displayed with the union down, except in as a signal of dire distress or extreme danger to life or property.” Those are the times we are in.
We fly the inverted flag for those who are deemed less than due to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, or any other classifications used to disenfranchise. We are all full people. We have always been.
Inverted Flag sweatshirt available for preorder now.
