Ok I know it's been a while since the last Invincible episode, but I had the sudden motivation to paragraph anyway.

What I wanted to talk about is the one scene that made everyone uncomfortable: the shower scene.

Now, as we're all well aware, the relationship between Dupli-Kate and the Immortal is morally dubious at best, considering not only their actual and physical age difference but also the large power imbalance between them, physical and position wise.

But, on a good note, it is clear from the writing that we are not supposed to like their relationship at all.

Throughout this scene, when Kate is telling Rex about how Immortal and her are a couple now, Immortal doesn't say nor do anything to prove it or reassure her. He hardly even looks at her. His expression is completely steely; he does not feel an emotional connection with Kate, while Kate likely wants to pretend he does.

I would have images to prove this, but this isn't really something I feel like googling, so just trust me bro.

Even within this scene, the two are shown to have no chemistry whatsoever, with Immortal paying near to no attention to Kate at all.

This is important to note as it ties in with Immortal's sub-plot as a whole. Already in just 2 episodes, it's become incredibly clear that something is wrong with him. He hardly shows any emotions beyond frustration, which highly contrasts with how he was in the first episode of the show. He is meant make the audience uneasy and is not supposed to be likeable. He's likely to become a proper antagonist, as since his debut he's done nothing that would make us trust him because he isn't meant to.

If whatever I'm rambling about was already revealed in the comics, please don't tell me as I haven't read them and don't want to be spoiled for what will happen later on in the show.
