I am getting ready to start City of Ruin by Charissa Weaks.

I absolutely loved The Witch Collector and I am beyond excited to get into this one.

I am also reading One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig and working on my reading journal.

I was able to get all of my tbr books written down in my journal last night. I have over 70 physical tbr books. So my plan next year is to knock out half of those. I look forward to coloring in the little spaces for them.

The Prince by Jennifer L. Armentrout – Review

 The Prince is yet another amazing creation by our dear Jennifer.

I feel biased to review her books nowadays since I always have extremely positive things to say about her writing and always rate her books with five stars.

 This novella is no different.

 We follow our main character, Brighton through an epic beginning to a possible future trilogy… I hope.

Our character is a little older than our previous female lead, Ivy in the Wicked trilogy and that was a very creative move on Jennifer’s part. It was different and brought a fresh start to the world of New Orleans.

Brighton is a fresh, almost brand-new character even though we had seen her in the Wicked books. She changed a lot since we last saw her in the last book and turned out to be a rich, determined and strong character.

We follow her as she hunts her attackers, the same fae that killed the most important person in her life. Throughout the book as Brighton seeks revenge she gets to know the Prince of the summer court, Fabian’s brother from the Wicked trilogy and the more we see these two get to know each other, the more we can feel the development of something new that not Brighton nor the Prince have felt in a long time. As the romance and sexual tension develops between Brighton and the Prince, the story grows to become its own new story. Almost separate from the Wicked trilogy.

I loved how the Jennifer wrote such an amazing novella within the Wicked world and I am truly hoping that she plans on writing about Brighton and the Prince again… and no… not a little 200 page sequel. I am hoping it’s a new trilogy with at least 600 pages in each book. Yes, this Novella has the great potential of becoming it’s on thing and hope for no less than three books.

It brought tears to my eyes to see Tink again and to be able to reconnect with a story I read a few months ago.
