Jesús Ociel Baena Saucedo (1984-2023) was the very first non-binary person in Latin America to become an electoral magistrate, being a member of the Electoral Tribunal of Aguascalientes in Mexico since October 2022. They also received the first birth certificate to have the sex registered as Non-Binary, a big achievement in the recognition of Non-Binary people.

Amongst other things, they defended trans youth, gay marriage, the fair hiring of LGBTQ+ people in the INE and overall pushed for a public acceptance and the stop of discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community. Jesús was known for going to work with high heels, makeup and their iconic fan with the rainbow flag, often carrying the non-binary flag too, and they fought to give visibility to non-binary people. They won the hearts of thousands.

They are considered a very important figure for the LGBTQ+ movement, specially in Latin America, as they fought very hard to defend the rights of it, both socially and politically.

They were found dead with their partner, Dorian Daniel Herrera, in the 13th of November of 2023 in Aguascalientes, in their home. The prosecutor’s office affirms it was due to a fight the two of them had, but many say it was a hate crime; the murder of activists are not too uncommon in Mexico, and even more considering their gender identity and sexuality. The ‘crime of passion’ judgement is also often put when the death of an LGBTQ+ person happens.

Either way, their death has sparked movements to punish hate crimes, and their figure remains as a symbol of hope for a better future. Mexico has a long way to go for LGBTQ acceptance, but their actions have pushed towards that goal and their memory continues to push forward. I recommend you investigate further about them if you have the time.

And in your fight for LGBTQ+ rights and your celebrations this pride month, please do not forget about Jesús Ociel.

hyperempathetic followers can now rest easy knowing the oceangate missing people have been dead for days and didn't feel a thing when it happened. low empathy followers can be bummed out that they found the wreckage so we can no longer gleefully imagine the passengers slowly freezing to death. normal followers (everyone in the middle) can be reasonably irritated that untold money was spent going after these idiots when poor disenfranchised people die all the time. if you learned about the migrant tragedy in the mediterranean sea thru this that's good (i did too), it's ALWAYS a good time to love and support refugees, migrants, n impoverished people. we have FAR more in common with them than we do the rich.

But you know that it will never happen. Even though you really hope that one day they will post to say they're still alive.

Okay i have yet to see a post about this that isnt filled with ppl being Annoying as Fuck on it, but,

theyve found wreckage of the submersible, it imploded (thank god, thats better than a drawn out suffocation over the course of several days, implosion means it was pretty much instantaneous) and the us navy have revealed they heard a weird sound on sunday from about where communication with the sub was lost, that was probably the sound of the implosion, [implied that they didnt say anything cos they didnt want to jump to conclusions without evidence of a wreckage, if there was a chance they were still alive.] no idea what the banging sounds were.

I do hope rescue efforts are extended to the migrants off the coast of greece, and am angry and horrified at their mistreatment, and that the media clearly cares less for their fates than that of the billionaires on the sub.

A submersible is a watercraft designed to operate underwater, usually supported by a nearby surface vessel, platform, shore team or sometimes a larger submarine.

submarines generally dont go as deep as our deepest submersibles, but some can be down there for months at a time bc it is like. a self sufficient Ship. not all submersibles can go crazy deep, but to my knowledge, the only crewed vessels that can go that deep, are submersibles. (Alvin, deepsea challenger, limiting factor, trieste, fendouzhe or "striver").

As you all may have seen, my mother passed away on September 3rd in a very sudden way. We held a funeral service for her on the 10th and laid her remains to rest on the 11th. Needless to say, I am still grieving, and a lot of changes are happening in my life currently on top of that. For one, I lived with my mother as her caretaker, and am now moving in with my grandparents for the time being. Admittedly, I may find myself leaning on my role-play blogs to get through this difficult period in my life if and when I can find the time for myself, but at the same time, there are still various things me and my family still need to take care of and that takes priority naturally. I'm sorry to have to say again that I will not be around or even in messages much, at least in the beginning, but I hope you guys can understand. Thank you.

My mother passed away yesterday. I know I haven't been the most active as of late, and I can firmly say I won't be online for the next while, either. This has been incredibly hard to get through, so thank you all for understanding.

gosh. thinking abt a little book i saw at a secondhand store the other day....... it was a girl's book with notes from her friends telling her how much they loved her and how sweet and kind she was. all the notes were dated some time in 1950. in the back cover was a note saying betty had died age 15 in early 1951. and it just,,,, those were real girls and real teachers who loved this girl so much. heartbreaking to find it in a store, but also so tender to get a peek into some other person's life...

i've spent the past couple days using videos/podcasts about cave diving accidents to relax/meditate/doze/etc. bc then i don't have to follow a horror fiction plot. the craziest part tho is that Every Single Video will be LITTERED with comments like "i just don't understand why anyone would do this??" and i'm like.

i used to be interested in missing 411 (a series of books chronicling disappearances in national forests) and i was considering getting them...until i found out the author was more or less a conspiracy theorist with a strong belief in like. well. cryptids did it. aliens did it. giants living in caves did it. when theres so many mundane reasons for this phenomenon.

i was expecting a supernatural angle, sure, if hes talking strictly theory in otherwise grounded nonfiction but was not anticipating Cryptids being the Conclusion.

forests are huge. millions of inexperienced people enter them year after year. you make one wrong turn, trip, fall- you seem to vanish into thin air then eventually succumb to the elements, injury or wildlife. remains go unfound before scavengers break them down and scatter them. its unfortunate. inexperience with nature and how few people know how to stay safe out in it is something that needs to be discussed in earnest...not so much 'well...aliens did it!'

Akira Toriyama's DBZ was what pushed me during my childhood to write and draw for myself, not just for school. I feel I am too numb to cry. This is a humbling reminder that one day, all of our favorite authors and creators will die.

Appreciate time, even if our lives may be full of pain, still, appreciate the time, the things, and the people we have.

Talk of IRL death under the cut.

Learned that a FIMfiction author passed away in 2022, and now thinking about my own mortality... and what would happen to my blogs and my stories and fics when I do pass on.

It's scary. I'm gonna be 29 in a month, and there's the real possibility of me suddenly dying. What would happen when I just. Drop dead without notice? I could go outside and get hit by a truck. I could have a sickness that would kill me in my sleep.

What then when the time comes? What of these blogs and my incomplete stories when I pass on? And... is there a way to have someone let everyone know that I died when I just disappear online?

...I'm just scared of that possibility. My dad knows about me writing and posting online but he doesn't know about my whump blog and such. So IDK if I should tell him to let everyone know here when I'm gone. It's hard...
