I am sad that I can't celebrate Halloween with roze in iruna ☹️
I can't celebrate Halloween halloween with roze in iruna this year. I feel sad but I know there is nothing I can do and other things in my life is also needing attention. So much for celebration I guess.

#F6: Talentless Nana (Munou na Nana)
youtube
Summary:
Fifty years ago, horrific creatures dubbed as the “enemies of humanity” suddenly appeared around the world. To combat these threats, teenagers gifted with supernatural abilities called “Talents”—such as pyrokinesis and time travel—hone their powers at an academy on a secluded island.
Nanao Nakajima, however, is quite different from the others on the island: he has no Talent. With many “Talented” teenagers around him, Nanao is often a target for bullying, but even so, he still strives to complete his training. Soon after, two transfer students, the mysterious Kyouya Onodera and the mind-reading Nana Hiiragi, join the class. But just as everyone starts blending as comrades-in-arms, mysterious disappearances begin to threaten the class’s entire foundation.
Propaganda:
I’d like to start off by saying that this is NOT a copy of My Hero Academia, even though it sounds as such. It’s kinda hard to explain the show without spoiling a major plot point, but it’s pretty much as the summary says. Honestly, if you want to watch this, don’t look up anything about it—you will get spoiled right away, and it does ruin the experience. I started this without knowing anything about it and I think that’s for the best because it’s plot twist after plot twis,t and you’re not sure what to expect next. That’s honestly something I really liked about it because you don’t know where the story will take you. Anyways, highly recommend because more people should know about this series.
Trigger Warnings:
Child Abuse, Emotional Abuse, Graphic Depictions of Cruelty/Violence/Gore
There’s a Nazi-coded character who does eugenics, and he’s also the reason for the child abuse tw
Sexual assault attempt on main character
Necrophilia (there’s a character who controls another person’s corpse and act like they’re dating)
#F8: Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun (Marimashita! Iruma-kun)
youtube
Summary:
Fourteen-year-old Iruma Suzuki has been unfortunate all his life, having to work to earn money for his irresponsible parents despite being underage. One day, he finds out that his parents sold him to the demon Sullivan. However, Iruma's worries about what will become of him are soon relieved, for Sullivan merely wants a grandchild, pampering him and making him attend the demon school Babyls.
At first, Iruma tries to keep a low profile in fear of his peers discovering that he is human. Unfortunately, this ends up being more difficult than he expected. It turns out that Sullivan himself is the chairman of the school, and everyone expects him to become the next Demon King!
Iruma immediately finds himself in an outrageous situation when he has to chant a forbidden spell in front of the entire school. With this, Iruma instantly earns a reputation he does not want. Even so, he is bound to be roped into more bizarre circumstances.
Propaganda 1:
The main character, Iruma, is very kind and wholesome, and you really just want to see him succeed throughout the series, especially after knowing everything he’s been through. He was neglected and used by his parents, but now he gets to live out a nice life despite being surrounded by demons, as his new grandfather spoils him. The demon that adopted him, Sullivan, is an extremely powerful figure in the demon realm, but through most of the series, he looks like an egg. The side characters are also well-designed with interesting personalities. The main two, Asmodeus and Clara, become almost inseparable from Iruma after they become friends, and the three of them are very cute together. There is also a canon nonbinary cat person, who is technically Sullivan’s servant, but he is treated as part of the family, and he’s a disaster bisexual.
Propaganda 2:
It’s really good in terms of art, plot, and characters. There’s nonbinary representation in the form of Opera, and there’s friendship galore with very poly undertones. It’s so sweet and good, and it’s just rahhhhh. Everyone is silly but also realistic and well-developed. There are reasonable arcs, and there’s a well mix of plot-driven growth and character-driven plots. I love every person who appears onscreen, even for like two seconds. The world building is lovely and so bright and colorful.
Propaganda 3:
You should vote for it because it is genuinely one of the best animes I’ve ever seen. It has good character development, mysteries, focuses on the cast well, and it is not a harem anime. The plot is also really good and is suitable for all age groups.
Fun fact: the main character crossdresses three times in the first three seasons
Trigger Warnings: Child Abuse (mild)

HELLO MY FELLOW TUMBLR USERS!!!! I am joining u to say that 1ST CHAPTER OF MY STUPIDLY SCI-FI VOCALOID FANFIC IS UP AND RUNNING!!! I’ve been working on it for a frankly absurd amount of time and I’m sososososo excited to finally share it <3! though it’s obviously inspired by vocaloid and its characters, u don’t rly need to know anything about vocaloid to “get it” considering vocaloid doesn’t rly have a “canon” in the typical sense. This is more of just my love letter to the vocal synth fanbase and it’s never-ending creativity that never fails to amaze me. In particular I was inspired by the INCREDIBLE webcomic NEXT!!! Sound of The Future and the adorable videos of irunas-talkloids, but there so many other incredible vocaloid artists that influenced the wider world of this fic. I’d like to thank all of them indirectly, as well as thank my lovely beta @privatehummus and kinda-betas @bats-in-the-snow and @finnickylines (what do u call the ppl u bullied into listening read ur fanfic out loud to? Either way, thx guys!!). Anyway, I hope u enjoy my silly robot ramblings! Let the batshittery begin <3 <3 <3
[Translations thanks to irunas-talkloids on the Voca live party discord]
[-2:54] "HUH?? WHAT'S THIS? Piko Live Party exists? Huh?? It seems some nice people overseas created this amazing thing for us... I see... That's what it looks like... I didn't know"
[he begins listening to it at -1:32]
[-1:22] "its pikos voice... amazing. it has a proper music video. amazing!! something like this existed... thank you very much. this uses the BGM. this is seriously a good song" "oh it's Teo. WHAT THIS DOESN'T SOUND LIKE ME. (laughter) WHAT IS THIS FOREIGN VOICE. (singing) This person doesn't sound like me!" (laugh) its like me! this sinking part is, isn't it. wow... this is kinda huge. seriously"
Utsushi was hoping to catch up with her tonight over dango and tea, but Ame and Lil Master was nowhere to be found in the village. He ran out to go look for her. He had gotten a fair bit into the Shrine Ruins, one of Ame's favorite stomping grounds when the cloudy sky opened up and down came a heavy rain. He made it to a corridor of bamboo when he heard singing like he had never heard before. It was so calming mixed with the rain, it seemed to wash away all sense of worry he had. Utsushi followed the sound until he found a hidden grove. The sight he found stole his breath.
Ame sang out into the heavy rain. She was wearing bandages that covered her breasts and skin tight shorts. Her scars from past battles on full display. She was... Enchanting.
Remember when memes used to be questionnaires instead of gifs??? I AM ANCIENTTTTTT. @imindhowwelayinjune has placed a curse upon my house and now I’m honor-bound to dispel it.
Last song: Burn by 2WEI & Edda Hayes
Last show: The English was the last show I watched all the way through. I’m here for a good western and gotta use that accidental Amazon Prime 30 day free trial while it’s there.
Last Movie: I honestly can’t remember. Last time I was on a plane with in-flight entertainment, I watched Jurassic World: Dominion. It was terrible. But, hey, there were dinosaurs eating people.
Currently watching: I’m making my way through Rise of Empires: Ottoman Season 2. Work is holding me back but I WILL watch ancient political corruption, thanks. If all documentaries were shot like historical dramas, they would be my dragon hoard and I’d roll in a pile of them like a cat in catnip.
Currently reading: I’ve been trying to finish Women of Troy for over a month now, but I got distracted by a strong desire for magic ninja content. I also have A River Enchanted and Babel queued up in the reading roster.
Current obsession: I will never be able to escape my preoccupation with Uchihas. At this point, they’ve haunted me for over two decades and will haunt me for decades to come. I’ve been rereading the manga since Christmas. My DnD group has listened to 45 minutes of dissertations on power scaling problems in Naruto canon. Kishimoto continues to drag me to emotional narrative peaks joined together, not by sensible plot arcs or logical character motivations, but decimated, wasteland valleys of absolute plot fuckery.
Anyway. Sasuke’s a bitch, Itachi’s a god, and Shisui is a pure tragedy. I’ll be in this hell for the rest of my life.

Five books I’ve enjoyed since September
Okay, I basically didn’t read in October or November but I sprinted through about 10 books in December to try to reach my reading goal for the year (unsuccessful).
She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan. New favorite book of all time. It’s got all my kinks: war, ancient history, swords, horses, deep-seated loathing (self and otherwise), vague mythological magic systems, khans. Never in my life have I connected with a character in a more visceral, unwanted way. My existential crisis was full-blown. I didn’t want to identify with a eunuch on a profound level, but here we are.
Greywaren by Maggie Steifvater. I reread the whole series before going into the final book, so I can’t remember if Greywaren was my favorite. But I’ve never read a magical world similar to the nonsense that goes on in the Dreamer Trilogy. It’s real good. Ronan is also a peak character. Aggressive goth Gryffindor farmboy representation matters.
Rogues: True Stories of Grifters, Killers, Rebels and Crooks by Patrick Radden Keefe. Like true crime but don’t like gory details? I don’t understand you, but this is the book you’re looking for.
Furysong by Rosaria Munda. I found the character arc resolutions a little unsatisfying in the end but overall, this is probably my top young adult fantasy series. Dragons. There’s so many dragons.
I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy. What a ride. I saw a lot of her interviews about this book before I read it, so I knew exactly what I was getting into. It’s powerful for someone to talk about their bullshit in a way that doesn’t sugar coat it.

Last line written
I wrote almost nothing this year, but somehow this question caught me when I’ve just started working on a project again. The rust on this keyboard has been corroding since 2020.
“Still alive?” He asks. Irunae looks remarkably better than Énkava feels. He’s sitting up, for one. “So you’re not completely useless, then.”
