Where is love going? : I Ching Divination for July 4, 2020 and "Structure of the Story"(Essay)
Last year 2020 was an unforgettable year for me, especially regarding love. I had a hot relationship with a certain female blogger (let's call her J), and I wanted to meet her, while J said she only had an online relationship. So, after about five months of online exchanges, I said to her, "I'll try to predict the future of the two of you."
The following notes are the results.

The theme is "If love is fulfilled, what should I do after that?"

The hexagram that came out is ``meng,'' which represents an infant. Sansuimon.
Of these, the 2nd, 5th, and 6th will change, and it was a change I had never seen before.
Then, what shifts is the "ratio," which represents unity. water-to-land ratio.
The fortune changes from "Monu" to "ratio".
If you look closely, the hexagram after the transition seems to represent a more or less stable relationship. (The only thing is to be careful about cheating men.)
In other words, the two are still young children, but in the future they will be married and live side by side.
Fortune-telling operation completed at 16:30.
When I sent this result to Ms.J, I received a negative comment, "No, no, absolutely no!" I was asked, "Can I call you stupid?", but in less than a month, their relationship ended. The I Ching fortune-telling is "off". The only thing I can say is that the word "ratio", which is made up of two overlapping characters "hi", has both a happy meaning of getting close to each other and a lonely meaning of facing apart. The two chose to "leave" the relationship. (The contradictory meaning of the nearer the farther is the basic yin and yang implied by the I Ching.)
It was a very sad ending, but this fortune-telling had a big by-product. (Even if I fall, I won't get up for free.) In this fortune-telling, the hexagram changed from "Monu" to "ratio", but this "short story" is just like the Japanese "Ise Monogatari". It reminds me of the story of "Tsutsuizutsu". It is a cute story about a man and a woman who have been familiar since childhood (Mou), a man proposes, a woman accepts it, and becomes a couple (ratio). A man is having an affair, but he touches his wife's sincerity, returns to his wife, and lives happily ever after.
This kind of situation... I can't help but think that the story of "Tsutsuizutsu" is incorporated into the logical system of the I Ching. Because it takes into account even men's cheating. If so, the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching itself can be thought of as containing "every story in the world."
Today's word: Russian formalism in a field of literary criticism: Vladimir Propp classifies folktales and myths from around the world into 31 patterns in his book Morphology of Folktales (1928). It was supposed to be, but the I Ching seems to go beyond that. I think this is one of the strengths and greatness of Chinese philosophy.

brief date with the undergrad thesis on ise monogatari. frankly writing an undergrad thesis on a tremendously overstudied classic sucks in that i spent nearly a month and a half just identifying something that could potentially be considered a ‘gap in scholarship’. not that i would have it any other way, but i’ve made a lot of work for myself in an already rather busy final year.

A long time ago, a man who was to live in Musashi sent a letter to a woman in Kyoto, writing, "I feel awkward to tell to you, but it is hard not to," with the superscription "Musashi-abumi" written on it. After not hearing for a while, the woman from Kyoto had written to him,
"Musashi-abumi, I still (like a metal fitting for attaching the abumi in Musashi) trust you, but it is hard not to ask, and it is annoying to ask"
he saw that it was written, "If I send her a letter, she complains, if I don't, she resents me, Musashi-abumi, I guess people die in situations like mine right now"

Well, abumis are on both sides of the horse to put the feet on.
Sexualization extended to images of reading, too. Many of the paintings and prints produced by Moronobu and his contemporaries, for instance, depict not “respectable” women but courtesans in the act of reading (see figure 4), and in many scenes the implied narrative is that reading gives way to sex, for in many a shunga scene books lie scattered about the floor. Sometimes the woman portrayed reading is clearly stated not to be a courtesan, but is nevertheless shown in a situation of intimacy (see figure 2). Even the most sober didactic works were not immune to treatment of this sort. A particularly apposite example is an erotic parody of Onna daigaku. This inevitably anonymous and undated piece, entitled Onna dairaku 女大楽(Great Pleasure for Women) and probably published in the 1720s, includes a scene in which a woman’s reading is interrupted by a man who is genitally stimulating her from the other side of the kotatsu. Here the very act of reading is invaded by the fantasies of the erotic tradition.

i also got ise monogatari and downloaded multiple articles on kamakura period exegesis of it just because that shizuka gozen scroll has her engage in that at the request of kamakura court ladies (she casts herself as ariwara no narihira in the process which has some interesting implications)

후시미 칸다카라 신사
당 신사는 뒤로 이나리야마 산올 가진 옛 이름 마루야마(사사야마)에 진좌하는 신사다. 아마테라스 어미카미, 이나리노 어카미, 도투사 칸다카라를 모시며 ‘칸다카라’라는 신사명은 신수 ‘도쿠사 칸다카라’에서 유래한다.
기도 문구에 ‘후루베 유라유라 구슬이 울려 생사의 기로에서 헤매이고 있는 사람도 되살아난다’ 로 되어 있고 신령한 산에 감싸여 오체에 깃드는 혼령을 불러 일으키는 데 효헙이 있는 진혼의 신사다.
오닌의 난 이후에 페허가 대나무 숲이 무성하였으나 1957넌에는 신전이 복구되었다. 대나무길을 따라 서 있는 이사사 대나무숲의 푸르름이 상쾌합을 주는 신사다.
쿄토시
Fushimi Kandakara-jinja Shrine
This shrine is set on the mountain Sasa-yama (Maru-yama by the old name), with the mountain Inari-yama rising in the background. It is dedicated to the deities Amaterasu O-Mikami and Inari-no-Okami, and to Ten Treasures (Tokusa Kandakara) given by the deities when they descended from the heavens. The shrine name was derived from the treasures (Kandakara). A Shinto ritual prayer given at the shrine asks the deities to care for the souls of the deceased and to restore life to those people who are wavering between life and death.
Fushimi Kandakara-jinja fell into ruin after the Onin War in the 15th century, but was restored in 1957. It is a quiet shrine, nestled within the light green of the surrounding bamboo forest.
