cassie sandsmark star jorts from issue #23 of yj98 you have always been famous to me

I made these jorts in 22 hours over the course of 3 days! pure willpower via my love for cassie sandsmark because I am a total novice in sewing and i am still not very good at it. (i really just combined various tutorials and improvised on measurements and then regretted improvising measurements later on).

I thrifted these jeans last year for cassie vibes (even though I had already made her star-spangled red bellbottoms at that point) and wasn't a fan of how they fit + I couldn't figure out how to style them. I enjoyed sewing in the panels to flare them out and then everything else (cargo pockets and sewing in stars) was hell <3

the pockets are not placed well (nor are they particularly well-made), the hem is uneven, the stars are quite janky (and I think I stitched on too many), I probably stabbed my fingers a million times, and I am so in love with them

That thing that some people do where they bold every few words that's supposed to be able to help people read their text better makes it like. So much harder for me to read their text for some reason

it's so fucking annoying how dark mode ( actually, all modes that doesn't have white posts but even then, some of the white posts ones still have a weird backgorund... ) adds this weird-ass background shade to transparent images. at first i was just annoyed because it made certain graphics look like shit, but now it's actually very distracting because if a single post has a handful of otherwise transparent backgrounds on images ( like icons with non-square borders, dividers, and post-banners ), that post suddenly looks INCREDIBLY cluttered. it's too many different colors and shades to register in my brain simply because that space fulfills no purpose whatsoever, it becomes distracting, and very hard to focus on the images themselves. there's just too much going on in one place for the eyes to take in.

I have learnt to really appreciate the Director's Suit more having replayed Control's main story and now AWE. I never used to vibe with it, but it just makes me feel so professional :)

            [     𝄞     ]    It  was  brought  to  my  attention  by  a  mutual  that  my  posts  were  not  working  well  on  dark  mode  due  to  me  using  the  space  generator.  I  have  went  back  and  rectified  the  issue.  Apologies  for  the  inconvenience.  I  had  no  idea  that  it  was  automatically  making  everything  black  font  and  not  adaptable  font.  Just  to  be  safe,  I  switched  myself  to  dark  mode  so  that  I  can  ensure  my  posts  are  all  readable  before  posting.  Thank  you  for  bearing  with  me.

me playing splatfest vs the fact that its dark + the dark blue ink from shiver / dark blue/purples from color lock make it so fucking difficult for me to see anyone of that color genuinely and it impacts my performance playing long ranged weapons (which are my mains)

not to be controversial bc I know this is like…not in line with shifting opinions on fanfic comment culture but if there’s a glaring typo in my work I will NOT be offended by pointing it out. if ao3 fucks up the formatting…I will also not be offended by having this pointed out…

‘looking forward to the next update’ and ‘I hope you update soon!’ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.

‘I don’t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel something’ is also incredibly high praise. I’m not going to get mad at this.

even ‘I love this fic but I’m curious about why you made [x] choice’ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.

I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment that’s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner they’re hoping to receive it in bad faith.

fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes it’s frustrating but it isn’t as though I can’t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.

idk where I’m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me I’m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.
