oh my gosh okay. so I saw barbenhiemer a few days ago and i habe just been sitting in my thoughts and I have so many things to say. THIS HAS SPOILERS FOR BOTH!!!

i saw Oppenheimer first so:

the cinematography was gorgeous. this movie was absolutely stunning. not only were the colors and shots beautiful, but I adored the black-and-white shots used for Strauss' perspective (which reminded me of asteroids city's use of b&w for perspective/setting changes!!!).

Florence pugh. oh my goodness. she was BEAUTIFUL I kept turning to my friend and saying oh my god she's gorgeous. I loved her acting, she embodied her character spectacularly. (also she so me for flirting with Cillian a bit during an interview)

CILLIAN MURPHY !!!! i adore him and I went into this very excited because I adore the dark knight and he was spectacular in that. anyways I loved his acting and how he delivered his lines, he added so much to the story. for such a long movie I loved his whole performance, and im super excited to watch it again (can u tell I love cillian murphy)

I understand it was a biopic so they were focusing more on the man himself and not the situation, but my friend who i went with actually googled the movie while we went to dinner- and found that the bomb test they showed had actually hit both Mexican and Indigenous people that were living in/near Los Alamos (mostly with radiation and fallout), which if we can find in one google search, is kinda weird we didn't see it in the movie at all. anyways I went to piss in the middle of the movie (Ik i should have peed before but WHATEVER anyways) when i got back they had already bombed both cities?? i was so surprised i had missed it, they didn't cover it much after that until around the end when the moral quandary is brought up more. anyways im seeing it again so ill definitely pay attention to these details!!

COSTUMING!!!! the costumes were beautiful, I adore the fashion of this era so it makes lots of sense but it was spectacular. my friend and I who both do makeup for theatre were caught off guard by the aging at the end as well, spectacular!!!

some of the dialogue was hard to follow and some moments definitely got a little complicated for me, but I definitely enjoyed the movie overall. Im going to go see it again soon at a theatre near me which is showing it with actual film!!! im very excited

I have a friend in film whod probably look at me like I was crazy for these reviews but that's okay cause I <3 him and I might get to see it with him soon :3

BARBIE:

god i adored this movie. ive seen twice and I've cried very much in that goddamn theatre. its a wonderful message about womanhood and girlhood and also just being human.

did you know all of kens clothes fit him.....

the movie itself was wonderful, the cinematography was nice and I saw some really beautifully framed shots!! the color scheme was spectacular aswell, I adore greta girwig for sure. not to mention the costuming, makeup, set design, the whole movie's tech was just spectacular I have no complaints for real.

this movie is very "first I laughed, then I serioused", the beginning was lots of giggles for me, I love the characters and all the references, it felt very nostalgic to see all the things I loved as a kid come up on the screen.

the feminist takes were very refreshing to see! I've seen many people comment on them being very broad and vague, and I agree some things like fatphobia and racism could have gone a bit deeper, but for what it was I was so happy. i felt my girlhood was really seen and I felt like I had a weight of my chest a lot of the time. thought its hard to separate many social movements from each other, this was a pretty good job

speaking of fatphobia I do wish that there was more fat representation, there was one main plus size Barbie and maybe one or two chubbier ones, but it would have been cool to see more of a body type range. its hard to ask for more because there already is SO MUCH diversity but I noticed a lot that the bigger ken was paired with the bigger barbie and that kinda thing, so I just wanted to mention that. i really do appreciate it though, and I love what Gerwig has given us.

did you know that all of kens clothes fit him.

allen is definitely non binary coded, I lack the words to properly explain this but I've seen many people bring it up!! there's also some more trans allegory I connected too throughout the movie, and I really enjoyed the healthy masculinity that came from some of the movie :3

everyone's gay and ND!!!!!!!!! margot robbies barbie is definitely aroace lesbian and maybe autistic and allen is nonbinary and queer and ken is probably transgender and adhd and he's just like me fr so on so fourth they are all queer. thank you :)

1. are you named after anyone?

yea! i’m named after my great aunt and she’s pretty cool and she’s super sweet. my full name is a different spelling of alison krauss, she’s a bluegrass singer that my parents like, bonded over. she’s pretty cool actually

2. when was the last time you cried?

uhhh probably when i was still getting over my ex and it was still raw. i got close to it during a rush at work literally today and i had like 5 orders to do alone and i got scared and i just like. profusely apologized for the wait and they were like “well you shouldn’t be alone anyways” and i was like idk sorry i guess

3. do you have kids?

no and i don’t plan to for a long time. i’m literally 19

4. do you use sarcasm a lot?

not really? i’m bad with detecting sarcasm a lot when it’s subtle but when you do the whole fake voice thing, then i get it. idk if it’s just the social anxiety in me or what

5. what sports have you/do you play?

so i dabbled a bit in elementary school and middle school but sports have never really been my thing. i did basketball camps in elementary school but i was not good at it, and then i did volleyball camps from fifth grade to seventh grade. i was part of the volleyball team in seventh grade but i wasn’t good and i wasn’t like already part of their crew so i wasn’t treated very well. but i joined tennis in eighth grade and i loved it and i played it up until my senior year of hs when covid cancelled our season. i was more into music, i did band and played french horn in middle school, and have done choir and theatre from fifth grade all the way up to my senior year.

6. what’s the first thing you notice about people?

i’m good at reading people’s faces. i can tell if someone doesn’t like me even by the twitch of an eyebrow. but usually i notice their eyes and smiles first. windows to the soul, am i right? i’m really bad at eye contact when people are also looking so it’s a bit awkward lol. i also love people’s smiles, and i’m able to match emotions p well

7. scary movies or happy endings?

so i used to be big into happier movies, like i would actively avoid movies that made me feel bad cause i didn’t want to feel like that. but once i took my film class in my second year of college i’ve appreciated movies that make me sad and uncomfortable. there’s so much i missed on by being afraid of feeling bad. i really enjoy psychological horror/thrillers, but i’m not into super gory or jumpscare-filled horror movies. think like full metal jacket, ones that make me feel scared in a tense way rather than just violence, although fmj has both

8. any special talents?

depends on what you call special. i did art for two years for college so i’m not too bad at that. i can sing but i haven’t sung in a non-private manner since high school so i’m pretty rusty. i’m not really that special when i think about it and i’m pretty ordinary. but i can make good coffee i guess.

9. where were you born?

north-eastern wisconsin and i barely have left the state in my life other than week-long vacations to florida as a small child that i barely remember.

10. what are your hobbies?

i still draw in my free time, even though i’m still working through my burnout. i like walking around town and driving for fun, i read and play video games but i’ve kinda been falling out of that. i like animal crossing, minecraft, destiny 2, and f1 21 (the only good one on xbox game pass). but i’m not very good at racing games yet cause i don’t have a wheel, i’m on controller. if you consider my hyperfixations hobbies, im big into f1 rn but in the recent past i’ve been really into total drama island, and mcyt (but i barely talk about that anymore)

11. do you have any pets?

yes! back at home i’ve got two cats named rudy and hermey, they just turned 19 in may and they may sound old but they are still kicking it and oh so sweet. they’re brothers and i’ve had them all my life and i love them. i also have a corgi who’s like 7 and she’s super sweet and bouncy and i love her

12. how tall are you?

5’4.5” ~ 162.5 cm [i tell people i’m 5’5” to fuck w them >:) ]

13. fave subject in school?

i liked art, choir, and english a lot. i actually loved writing papers about things i read and my teachers kept them as “examples” to show future students if they were confused so i take that as a personal W

14. dream job?

if you had asked me this like. 8 months ago i would have told you i would like to be a storyboard illustrator for movies or tv shows and stuff like that. however i am so burned out of everything except mindless sketch studies that i don’t know if i want to do that anymore. i’ve been oddly into engineering lately (literally only because of F1) and even though i didn’t enjoy math as much i’m willing to put it aside and work at it for the sake of a possibility of working for F1 one day.

15. eye color?

green with like. brown highlights. it’s not hazel but it’s also not fully green. i’ve been told i also have blue around the outside which idk about that. it’s like the dark blue ring with green and very little brown highlights.

What happened to us on Monday☁️

It’s funny because I dream of graduating every year before this year. Truthfully, I love school and don’t want to graduate any time soon, but I also wish I had graduated with these people. Yesterday, I watched all these people I used to sit in class walk across that stage. A part of me wished I was there too. I watched them becoming an alumni and we no longer share the same status. I was way up there, trying and using every inch of my energy, waving at them, trying to show how excited I was and how proud I was. I watched them walk ever so proudly, and I didn’t know the ceremony was such an emotional space. I cried.

I used to hate school. I felt like the dumbest person in class by listening to others talk so I never really did until this year. I met one person who I constantly and consistently rely on throughout the years of being in this department. I wouldn’t have survived German cinema without her, truthfully. I will never forget the past three years with Jordan. All the times when She decided it would be a good idea for me to walk halfway home and then take the bus so I could walk with her through winter, spring, and once in the summer. I complain too much every time, but I do it anyway. One day in, I'd say, January, we were gonna study together but ended up talking about what’s going on in each other's lives.

I have met so many beautiful, genuine people here and there. None of us were close, but it took one class to break the shell. (Auteur Theory)

When I tell you that this program has the most wholesome people, I’m really not kidding. Nat kindly drove me home (Vancouver) from Seattle when I almost got stranded. Evan invited our debate groups for a beer after our heated debate, even though they lost. Mickey invited the class to the Gallery after the last debate to celebrate. Adriana telling me that everything will be fine after they graduate. Asking each other to go to the theatre after the semester ended, going to dinner with a bunch of people who have shared so little life together, some only shared bits of their lives in RBC. That brunch Claudia could never make it to.

As Jordan said in the cute little letter she drew me, we became a little family in our program.

These people made me love film again. Not that I didn’t before, but I didn’t know what I was looking for in a film. I still don’t, but films are becoming poetic for me. I enjoyed all the poetic moments we shared together before, during, and after the movie ended.

Sitting in the chairs that break our backs and bones became more bearable.

All of us always complained about RBC, but when I had the last class there with them, I realized that this space holds more memories than I thought. I can tell u which chair squeaks, which table I accidentally broke, and the table that’s too small for our jacket, coffee, water bottle and laptop. I can tell you where Jordan and I sat every class and how we randomly ended up loving the front in cult cinema or that one time I accidentally kicked my water bottle, and it rolled all the way down to the front during an emotional scene in Moonlight. I can tell you how much noise we made in our corner watching Oldboy and how Angie jumped out of her seat. I can also tell you we were Christine’s favourite class. I can tell you that one time, Fernando and I finished a film production project right before it was due, and I was hungover. I can also tell you how we all never used to sit together in a screening, but we did on the last day of class. Even Aadi eventually sat with us, too.

Not just RBC but Buchanan as well. I went back there for a summer course, and all I could think about was what I’d do to have one more Auteur theory class and laugh at the drawings on the whiteboards. Also the main mall, that’s how Jordan and I became friends. We never knew the shortcut from Buchanan D to Swing Space, and Megan always made it to class way before we did. The countless grey days I would follow Claudia’s backpack to school back in second year before we actually had a conversation together.

I wonder what would happen in September when I go back there without them. Would the cute granny from the sandwich bar still remember me? Would I secretly cry in the bathroom because it’s too hard to go back to that room without Jordan? Would I be the only person who's scared of horror movies now?

I know I’ll be fine but maybe just maybe in another life,

We can all sit together again.

It wasn't often that Will got to go to a Broadway show.

After weeks and weeks of his best friend, Collar, going on and on about how amazing this play he recently discovered was, Will immediately jumped at the chance of seeing the show with him when he found out that they'd be in his hometown that week.

Will thought his ribs would be crushed from how tightly Collar hugged him. Will was lucky enough to get really good seats before they were sold out.

It was the first night that the show was in London, so they weren't surprised to see that the place was packed, but that definitely didn't lessen the excitement. "I'm so excited for this." Will expressed.

"Oh, you're gonna love it, mate." Collar replied.

Taking their seats, it was only a matter of minutes until the lights started to dim and a loud overhead voice explaining the show was about to begin and repeating how no photography or video was allowed and all that.

Will and Collar were pretty much beaming with excitement, the latter bouncing his leg up and down with anticipation.

The two friends were immediately entranced when the ensemble cast walked onstage and performed the first song, applauding along with the rest of the audience when it ended.

Main characters were quickly introduced, and Will was surprised at how much he was enjoying the show so far, but he should've known Collar had the best tastes.

A new character was introduced, and Will could not take his eyes off them. The voice that emitted from this person was almost otherworldly, he'd never thought someone could sing so well. Will could've easily said that they were beautiful as well. Maybe it was the way the spotlights shined on them, making their aura angelic in a way. They seemed to exude confidence, that in itself was so damn attractive to him.

Every time this person went onstage, Will naturally focused in on them, he didn't even realize until after the show. "I know that look," Collar smirked, "which one was it?"

Will blushed. "I don't know what you mean..."

"Mate, don't bullshit me." He laughed.

Will rolled his eyes, knowing he couldn't lie to his best friend. "The one who sang that solo, before the intermission."

Collar's eyes lit up in clarity. "Oh, yeah! They were awesome. The cast usually meets fans after the show in the lobby, you should try to meet them!"

Will quickly shook his head. "No, no, no, that's okay."

"Nah, come on!" Collar grabbed Will's wrist, dragging him to the lobby with a ridiculous amount of force.

Just as Collar said, the whole main cast was lined up behind a red velvety rope, all smiling, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. Will instantly spotted you, grinning widely while talking to a fan. You looked like the friendliest person on the planet. Obviously, Will didn't know if you were for sure, but he had a gut feeling.

You felt someone staring at you, well, hundreds of people have been staring at you every other night for the past two months now, but you were proved right when you caught the eye of a man across the room.

It took you a bit of recall, but you eventually recognized him as Will Poulter. You hadn't watched his recent stuff as you were so busy, but he was an actor you had respect and admiration for. He looked like he had taken an interest in you, which you never thought would be possible. You gave him a warm smile, and you could see his bashful gaze and blush.

"Dude, you gonna talk to them or?" Collar asked impatiently. "They just smiled at you, that's gotta be an invitation, man."

Will wanted to, so badly, but you looked busy enough as it was. "Not tonight, I'm pretty knackered if I'm being honest." Collar gave him an annoyed look, but he wasn't going to pressure him.

You saw Will leave the theatre from the corner of your eye, and you refrained from frowning. You really thought he'd come talk to you, but in a way you were thankful, you probably would've embarrassed yourself in some way. But still, you were a bit disappointed, but you still smiled when you met people who enjoyed the show.

Will pretty much slapped himself for not even trying to talk to you, so he did something rather impulsive; he bought another ticket to your show. "You haven't even met them, and you're already whipped!" Collar laughed loudly.

"Please, don't start." Will whined.

Seeing Will again at the show, in the orchestra seats, almost made you blush onstage. He was there again? Your gut told you he was there because of you, but your logic told you that you were being conceited. Maybe he just was so moved by the performances that he had to see the show again.

You felt his eyes trained on you the entire show.

After the show, you were in your dressing room, scrubbing off the caked on stage makeup that you had to wear every performance. Until your friend and co-worker barged in unannounced. "Knock, for the love of god, knock!" You snapped.

"I did!" Your friend replied, not very convincingly you might add. "Did you see that hot blonde eyeing you tonight?"

You furrowed your brows. "How'd you even see that?"

"I know when someone's eying MY friend!" They said, emphasizing the 'my'. "It's a superpower I have."

"Yeah, well, that guy was here yesterday. He must love the show a lot if he came back a second time in a row." You said while finishing taking off the makeup.

Your friend smirked. "Or maybe…he loved your performance?"

You rolled your eyes. "Stop, you'll get my hopes up."

"Well, I guess we'll see when you go out in the lobby."

You loved meeting people who enjoyed the show, especially your performances. Praise felt nice, but what felt even nicer was the fact you saw Will awkwardly making his way to the area were the cast was, shaking hands and congratulating your fellow performers.

Slowly but surely, he made his way to you with a grin. Damn, that grin could probably cure every illness in the universe, you thought. "Hello there, loved your performance!" He praised.

"Thanks! You were at the show last night too, weren't you? Or are my eyes just playing tricks on me?" You giggled.

Will scratched the back of his neck nervously. "Uh, yeah, actually I was." He chuckled.

"Dang, you must really love the show!" You chuckled when he couldn't come up with a reply. "I'm Y/N." You stretched your hand out to shake his.

"Will." He smiled.

"Oh, I know actually! I know some of your work."

Will blinked in shock, but smiled nervously. "Oh, wow, awesome! I'd imagine doing this type of thing, traveling, how would you even find the time to relax and watch films?"

"Oh, trust me, we barely even have time to relax much less watch movies. But I remember seeing you in Son of Rambow, you were a pretty cute kid." You smiled.

Will chuckled bashfully. "That's very kind. I'd hope I'm still as cute as I was when I was little."

"You definitely are." You didn't exactly mean to sound all seductive like, but it just came out that way. You found yourself liking the way it made all of Will's blood rush to his cheeks.

"Oh, thank you." He stuttered, looking around nervously. "Well, it seems like loads of people want to meet you so, I'll get going."

Your mouth opened and closed like a fish, willing yourself to tell him to stay, but all that came out was a strangled sigh. Damn it, you must've scared him off…

"They said that to you?!" Collar shouted, listening intently to Will about the encounter with you as soon as he got to his apartment. "They said you were cute. Mate, please, tell me you asked them out."

Will cringed, biting his lip and looking up to his friend in shame. "I got nervous…"

"That was your opening, man!"

"I know, I know. Just gonna have to have a go at it again…" He said, pulling out his phone with another sigh.

"Tell me your not."

"Too late." Will showed his phone screen to reveal a newly purchased ticket to the show…again.

"You're burning a hole in your wallet."

"Yeah, yeah, I know." But he hopes it'll be worth it. "Third times a charm..."

Another night, another show, and you felt yourself having a little bit of low spirits, until your friend pulled you by the wrist to the side stage. "What're you…?"

"Look who's here, again!" Your friend whisper yelled, pulling aside the stage curtain to reveal a tiny bit of the audience waiting for the show to start. "Look there!" They pointed.

"No way…"

Will was there in the audience again!

"He must really want that ass!" Your friend guffawed, making you lightly slap their arm.

You couldn't help but blush, it was so sweet. But you thought back to the night before, he was so nervous and finicky. You realized you had to make the first move, no flirting or else he'd startle like a baby deer.

Oh boy, your nature was not able to NOT flirt. You might've thrown a couple winks to Will onstage, maybe thrown a couple smirks when you were able to. Yeah, the no flirting thing wasn't really working…

But you thought maybe it made him a bit more comfortable walking up to you easier after the show. "Damn, you have an obsession with theatre, huh?" You teased.

Will chuckled. "Yeah, I must."

"So, why are you actually coming here? Three times in a row must be hurting your bank account."

Will stayed silent for a moment, just staring into your eyes with a blush slowly rising to his cheeks. "I, uh…" He paused, "I just really love the show." He instantly cringed internally. "I should go."

"No!" You shouted accidently, startling him slightly. "Sorry, uh, why don't you stay? Our night ends in half an hour. If you don't mind, I'd love to talk to you."

Will instantly felt relieved, in a way. He nodded excitingly, causing you to grin.

"Great! I'll meet you out the front doors, okay?"

Quickly going to your dressing room, your friend hugged you tightly from behind you. "Dude, finally! I never thought I'd see the day you'd make a first move."

"Wasn't easy. Why can't extroverts act like extroverts?" You chuckled, looking over yourself in the mirror.

"You're generalizing."

"I gotta stop doing that. But anyway, I'll be back soon, hopefully he won't run off."

"Good luck." They blew a kiss.

Thankfully, Will was still waiting outside the theatre, sitting on the steps, scrolling through his phone. "Hey!" You greeted. "Sorry if I took awhile."

Will smiled, standing up from the steps. "It's totally fine."

"So, forgive me if I'm wrong, but I have a hard time believing you came here three times in a row, wasting money, just because you enjoyed the show a lot."

Will's smile dropped, looking to the ground. "Uh…you're not wrong."

"Last night, you left so quickly. Why?"

Will let out a sigh. "I got…scared, I guess." Well, he admitted that, why not admit more? "You just seem so confident, I was intimidated. But I did want to talk to you more, just didn't have the guts to, I suppose."

Another smile graced your face happily. "Well, the show is still in town for a few days, then our tour is over. I'd love to go out for a coffee or tea sometime, if you're available."

Will's eyes lit up, his grin coming back and letting out a thankful chuckle. "Yes! Yeah, I'd love to!"

"Here's my number, call me and we'll work out the details."

"Wow…" He smiled.

"What?" You asked with a giggle.

"That was a lot easier than I thought it would be."

time for another installation of “my life and stories ive been told that ive decided to translate into atla content” enjoy.

one of my parents first dates was to see titanic in theatres.

it was a crowded movie theatre and they were in the middle of the middle row. they were surrounded on all sides.

my dad, the dumbass that he is, decides to buy an extra large soda. he finished it by the time jack stops rose from jumping off the boat. that is fairly early in the film.

titanic is a boat.

boats are in water.

a majority of this film has water EVERYWHERE.

so let’s just say my dad was about to piss in his fucking pants.

he tried to leave quietly but a) the theatre was packed b) hes a literally giant and c) the second he stood up he was yelled at to sit down.

my mom swears that there were tears in his eyes by the time the film ended and she had no idea if it was from the movie itself or the fact that he needed to pee so fucking badly.

the movie ends. he sprints to the bathroom. the line is out the door. he waits in agony.

he finally makes it to the bathroom. the only thing open is the stall for people who use wheelchairs/other disabilities. he said he felt bad for using it when someone else couldve possibly needed it but in the moment all he could think of was not pissing his pants.

my mom says she waited for 10 minutes for him to leave the bathroom.

he says he could hear other men laughing at him in the bathroom because of how long he was taking. they cheered for him when he came out.

my mom dies laughing every time she tells this story and my dad always retaliates by telling the story of the time they went to see saving private ryan also fairly early into their relationship.

the theatre was dead quiet and this one character is walking up like a hill or something (ive seen the movie but i barely remember it) towards german soldiers but doesnt shoot.

my mother. the sweet lady that she is. the one who scolds me for saying words like ‘hate’ and ‘sucks’ and every single curse word ever, yells: “KILL HIM YOU PISSANT!”

she did not realize that she had said this out loud until the people in front of her turned around. she was mortified. my dad says he was stunned because he never knew my mother had such violent thoughts.

anyways the reason im telling you guys this is because this is 100% kataang in my opinion. every time they the stories to their kids it gets more and more detailed and they laugh harder and harder. katara now always yells ‘kill him you pissant’ during that scene. aang refuses to watch titanic or drink anything at the movies now. they live happily ever after.

if you read all of this: oh my god why? u had the attention span? good for you mate i wrote it and i cant even read the whole thing now.

EDIT: i changed the wors h/ndicap to “stall for people who use wheelchairs/have other disabilities” because when researching for a fic im writing i found that that term isnt used anymore so i decided to change it. sorry !!

How are you holding up? I hope that you’re taking it easy and doing better than the last time I spoke to you, my thoughts are with you always especially when you’re going through so much at the moment so I really am thinking of you during these really awful times <3

I wanted to just say that first before I started going off talking bout whatever I just end up rambling about - I’ve made a lil list of your film recs and I’m going to get through them eventually, that’s my goal in the next few months at least - I had already seen a few of them that were on the list so already got a head start there

I have really not been up to much this past week, mostly just working but these next couple weeks are gonna be really busy for me since places are properly opening up again soon and I have quite a few friends/family birthdays so my calendar is looking intimidating but I am looking forward to seeing people since it’s been so long since I’ve gone out with more than like 5 people

Omg also I went out for a proper date night which was so lovely, had dinner then went on a walk by the river and it was some romantic shit I tell you I’ve never felt so wined and dined before, we don’t really do dinner type date nights since our ‘dates’ are normally just us hanging out together or just going out to the movies or something which are all things I love doing but it’s nice to dress up and go out, we did a similar thing not too long ago to make up for the lack of going out we’ve been able to do and tbh I am now getting used to having lil dinner dates now - in more tmi news we did fuck in the back seat of his car so first time car sex was pretty amazing as well, I also am pretty convinced someone saw us soooo love that

Oh I did not realise how long I was just talking about going out to dinner for so I guess this is an immersive ramble now - anyway have you got any plans coming up? What have you been up to? A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Charlie’s super affectionate when its just the two of you, loads of sweet kisses and hugs from behind. She’s not all that into intense PDA, but quite often the two of you will link hands or walk with an arm slung across the other’s waist while you’re out, or give an affectionate peck on the cheek while you’re walking past

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Super goofy, always joking around, NEVER hesitates to tell you her secrets. After the Dick Roman incident Charlie had a rough time trusting people again, but you were one of the few who she would trust with her life

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

If you’re just sitting on a couch together or something of the sort, Charlie likes to wrap an arm around your shoulders and tuck her head down against your neck, but at night she’ll want to be closer to you, usually laying with her head on your chest and arms wrapped around your middle with a leg tucked between yours.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Yes! Charlie would love to settle down into a domestic life with you. Hunting was all good fun at first, but in the long run, what she wants is to live a long, normal life by your side

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

She would try her best to hurt you as little as possible, but it would end up being a decently awkward ending where you eventually end up back as friends with those unresolved feelings that were never dealt with

F = Fiancee (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

After getting out of hunting, Charlie would be a bit nervous about settling down into a marriage, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want it. In reality, she would love nothing more than to marry you, but the knowledge of what her past held scares the hell out of her and she would need to be 100% certain that you would be safe if you got married

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

She’s not overly gentle with you once she get’s really comfortable, never rough, but she can be playfully aggressive at times

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Charlie loves hugging you, being hugged by you, it’s her favorite place in the world to be. When it’s been a while since you saw each other, she’ll barrel into your arms and almost send you tumbling over she’s so desperate to be in your arms again, but usually hugs with Charlie are from behind, a loose squeeze of her arms as they snake around your waist with her chin resting on your shoulder

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

Pretty soon after you started dating. It was awkward and clumsy, an “I love you” blurted out in the middle of a discussion you were having about Lord of the Rings, but it was nothing less than perfect for you

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

She’s not really the jealous type; she definitely won’t enjoy it if she sees another woman try to flirt with you, but she respects that you’re your own person who’s allowed to have friends outside your relationship

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Usually when Charlie kisses you during the day it’s short and sweet, but when the night rolls around the kisses get deeper, more passionate and are always able to get you in the mood

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Charlie loves kids, but is always painfully awkward around them. She never knows exactly how to act when a child is present and usually ends up resorting to referencing old cartoons she watched when she was young, which never fails to make you laugh

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Charlie is NOT a morning person, so most mornings are spent with her limbs wrapped tangled between yours while she tries to convince you to stay in bed just a little bit longer, loads of sleepy kisses and eventually, you making breakfast while Charlie makes tea or coffee for the two of you with soft music playing in the background, which has more than once led to pancakes being abandoned for slow dancing in your pajamas

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Movie marathons, game nights, all sorts of dorky little things that make Charlie’s heart soar. You always take turns choosing what the movie(s) for the night will be, and you always plan to sit quietly and just watch for once, but every time it turns into a much enjoyed infodump session where you spend most of the film gushing about your thoughts until you either pass out on the couch together or make it till the end of the movie and curl up together in bed

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

If you were a hunter beforehand Charlie would waste no time starting to open up about herself, knowing that there was no reason to hide anything. If she was dating a person with a normal life, she would be a bit more hesitant to tell you about that side of her past, wanting to avoid roping you into it

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

There isn’t much that can get Charlie really mad, or at least nothing that you’ve come across yet. She’ll get annoyed every so often, upset sometimes, but you’ve never seen her actually angry.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

She remembers almost everything she learns about you, to the point where you’ve been confused more than once due to Charlie bringing up some obscure fact about yourself that you completely forgot you had ever mentioned

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

The memory that stands out most in her mind is a night barely a month after you started dating. Charlie was sitting on the floor of your apartment wrapping presents for a friend’s birthday when you slid into the room wearing knee high rainbow socks and a star trek nightgown you had stolen from Charlie and grabbed a empty tube of wrapping paper, brandishing it like a sword. Charlie had abandoned the gifts almost immediately, grabbing her own roll and whacking you in the leg with it as she stood up. You both had a busy day in the morning, but at the time the impromptu sword fight was more important, and you chased each other through the apartment for almost an hour, laughing the whole time. It seems so simple, but Charlie knew it was the moment realized she was in love with you

S = Security (How protective are they?)

She’s got a bit of separation anxiety and struggles when you have to be apart for longer than she’s used to, so when you’re together Charlie is a little bit overprotective, never smothering you but always keeping an eye out for anything that could hurt you

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Charlie always puts heaps of effort into your relationship, and she somehow finds a way to work an inside joke into every present she gives you.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Even though you enjoy it when it’s just the two of you, Charlie always talks during whatever you’re watching on tv, even if you’re in a theatre or watching with friends

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

She doesn’t spend a whole lot of time messing with her appearance, but she’ll take a few minutes every morning to do her makeup and brush through her hair

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Charlie wouldn’t feel incomplete, exactly, but without you she would definitely feel alone, like something was just a little bit off and she couldn’t fix it

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Charlie always sings in the shower, and It’s loud and off-key and she probably doesn’t know you can hear it, but it makes you smile every time

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Anyone who she can’t have fun with, or would make fun of her interests. If you’re dating, you’ve gotta be willing to marathon Harry Potter with her, it’s a given

She snores lightly, and never bothers putting her hair up for bed, which inevitably ends up splayed out across your pillow when you go to sleep

STAR WARS INTO DARKNESS

A (Salt) Review of Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker.

Warning 1: All opinions are mine and no one (sadly) paid me for them.

Warning 2: I’m going to strive to be charitable as possible. Keyword, STRIVE.

It finally came. The conclusion to the Skywalker Saga, a nine film series starting with Shmi Skywalker and her lineage.

When we left the The Last Jedi; Finn was tenderly checking up on Rose who endangered her life to save him. Steadily finding his place in the Resistance and deciding that it was a cause worth fighting for. Ben Solo, also known to the galaxy as Kylo Ren, has just killed his life long abuser but failed to relinquish himself from the ties of the past. Rey was dealing with detaching herself from the idea that she needed to Be Someone in Order to Do Something only to realise that she, a nobody, was good enough. As Leia Organa said, we have all we need.

Cool right?

Yeah, just forget that movie. Actually, just forget like any development that occurred over the last two movies. Furthermore, turn your brain off. No, really please remove any kind of higher cognitive function and any knowledge of Star Wars beyond “pew, pew, pew” and “wOOO”. That’s literally the only way to truly enjoy this film.

This movie is a quest. A long big-budget multi-step fetch quest. Fetch quests are a common part of RPGs and can be enjoyable! Add to the narrative! Interactive. A movie that is nothing but fetch quest after fetch quest to the point that honestly, the first two thirds of the movie could have been dropped because it was so distressingly nonsensical.

Loose summary;

Ben Solo is on a planet. Being very very lorge and murking people left and right. Why? Because reasons. That this planet happens to be Mustafar and that he’s killing Vader Cultists evidently is not considered relevant. Even though Ben Solo introduction in TFA, which JJ wrote (with the assistance of Kasdan and Arndt), is basically as Vader’s #1 fanboy. But who cares about narrative information when you have sweet sweet red lighting and like a flight scene.

Anyway, Ben heads to Exegol because evidently that’s where the fancy schmancy totally Not A Holocron is directing him towards. In which he approaches some goth-esque temple with vats of Snokes. Yes, You Heard Correctly, Vats of Snokes. And Palpatine. Who’s just hanging on a crane. Just chillin’ and gleefully tells Ben Solo that he’s been every voice in his head since birth. So learning your abuser is still alive is totally dope. But hey, PALPATINE IS BACK! REMEMBER PALPATINE? ISN’T THAT COOL, yells JJ Terrio desperately trying to like Hype You Up And Remind You Of The Star Wars of Their Childhood.

Finn and Poe “I Have Literally No Purpose To Any of This Narrative and JJ Terrio is About to Fuck Over My Backstory” Dameron are getting data from a contact. For some reason a glorified dick-shaped Alien is there. Consequently, this is the same alien that replaced Rose Tico on merchandise. A reasonable person with minimal brain function would assume it’s because he plays a critical role in the plot. Remember what I said about thinking? Stop it. Klaud is there primarily for you to admire that JJ’s tentacle kink is Alive and Well and Thus Everything Is True (tm) Star Wars Again.

Rey is floating surrounded by rocks because That’s What Cool Jedi Do. Then she does a training course because after two films we have absolutely no proof that she has any fight training, according to Reddit and like JJ Terrio is trying to get Reddit to go to the Star Wars Prom with them. So, we need a training montage and Rey going to robo-Leia and saying that she will “earn [Leia’s] brother’s saber”. Why would she want to earn a grumpy curmudgeon who fucked over his only nephew and hid from his twin sister for years? Well, JJ Terrio dreamed of earning Luke’s saber and like what is the purpose of writing other than Wish Fulfillment.

Palpatine is back! Why? We don’t know and we don’t even know what he said because evidently it was decided that it belonged in Fortnite...instead of the film. Why? Here’s a lollipop and a pew pew to stop thinking sweetie. Either way he’s on Exegol and Rey saw notes scribbled in the margins that you need a Sith Holocro-- I mean ~Sith Wayfinder~ --because JJ has never seen Star Wars since he saw it in the theaters in 1983-- to get there. Which is on Pasaana.

WHICH IS HAVING SPACE BURNING MAN RIGHT NOW! (which happens every forty two years. Which is how long ago Star Wars Episode 4 Premiered. Remember fans! Isn’t that a Cool Thing To Drop? says JJ Terrio deftly skimming Reddit in order to gain fanbros love and affection and nostalgia boners.) LOOK AT ALL THE ALIENS DOING THE SPACE MACARENA! Because WOO DON’T YOU LOVE PARTY SCENES?

The force bond shows up and you can some how transfer stuff between the bond? Which like in the hands of another writer would be fascinating and engaging. Sadly, this is a JJ Terrio production and nuanced storytelling and dialogue is Fake and Not Star Wars.

Either way, Ben knows that they’re there and they are running from stormtroopers RIGHT INTO LANDO CALRISSIAN,-- remember him? goes JJ Terrio. You remember Lando right?. I do, I go. I’ve seen the movies and you’ve given no reason why Finn and Rey would know who the fuck he is seeing how he’s evidently been living as a hermit In The Same Outfit for over a decade. (BUT REMEMBER HIM, whines J.J. Terrio. Yes, I do. I SAW THE FUCKING OT JJ).

Anyway, more exposition occurs because JJ Terrio has no understanding how visual language works and it detracts from Real Star Wars Things Like - Space Chases - Pew Pew - Witty quips! because Witty quips! Are Important for A Star Wars, says JJ Terrio.

Nevermind that stormtroopers could fly since the Clone Wars and there’s literally no reason as to why Finn would not know this but like that would require you to give him

- a character arc - character growth - dialogue beyond “WOOOOO” and “REYYYYYY” (also side notes; it was depressing as fuck seeing Finn’s growth in TLJ to going beyond being Rey-centric to only spend the entire movie yelling a White Lady’s Name. I GO TO THE THEATRE TO NOT SEE REALITY, JJ.)

JJ Terrio: BUT HE’S FORCE SENSITIVE?? me, who’s been on the Finn is Force Sensitive Train since TFA: AND YOU DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WITH IT AND IMPLIED THAT IT WAS ONLY REASON HE WAS ABLE TO FIGHT THE STORMTROOPER PROGRAMMING??? (i.e. this is really fucking gross eugenics shit pls stop JJ Terrio and like just stop)

*deep breath*

ANYWAY, where was I? Oh yeah, Star Wars Into Darkness.

Either way, they find the Subtle Knife a Sith dagger? Along with force healing foreshadowing. But they have a dagger! Which They Can’t Read! But Threepio can! But He Can’t Say It Out Loud Because His Programming Forbids It.

And then the KoR, the galatic boy band, and Ben show up because of course. And they capture Chewie and put him on a transport.

Rey, of course, reaches out to Stop The Transport.

Ben, tries to stop her.

They to a back and forth that is similar to TLJ without any of the emotional build up of TLJ but that’s because JJ Terrio believes Emotions Are Not Star Wars.

And she lets loose LIGHTNING and makes the transport blow up and she believes Chewie is dead. Problem: Chewie isn’t dead. Which means she would be able to sense him in the Force. “But Mneme”, you say, “the Force isn’t like a GPS where you just Sense People.” That’s fair! Except....then...she does...when she’s on the Snow Planet. So like???

Either way, we have a Dagger that We Need to Read That Threepio Can’t Say Out Loud.

A Solution That Uses Braincells: well we know that the Millenium Falcon has three droid brains! So like we could just hook up Threepio to like the Falcon and transmit the codes and get some really great Easter eggs re: the Falcon and like the setup of the ship!

JJ Terrio: OR WE COULD GO TO THIS SNOW PLANET me: wha-- JJ Terrio: SNOW PLANET WHERE POE DAMERON RAN SPICE me: did you just make....your Only Latino Character Into A---Drug Runner JJ Terrio: REMEMBER HAN SOLO?? So that’s like *two* instances of fakeout death because like Nothing Is Of Consequence Because Star Wars.

Except Leia dying because fuck moms, say JJ Terrio. Moms are Not Star Wars. The Reddit bros have now started to return their text messages.

More busy stuff happens. Hux dies. I wasn’t able to thoroughly enjoy it because by this point I had A Headache from all the Pew Pew and Wooooo~~.

Ben tells Rey that like ~her power is Palpatines power because like How Else Can Rey Be Powerful.” Does this make any sense? Not at all but like Don’t Think Too Hard.

He also finally takes off his stupid helmet that was glued together by ~Sith Alchemy~ that they bought from Space!Michaels.

Rey is vaguely disraught but like She Finally Has A Purpose and the Reddit Bros are Appeased.

More shit happens. Does it matter? Not really.

They meet Jannah! She’s cool and has the exact same backstory as Finn. Because in Star Wars There Are Only (2) Backstories for black characters. They line up the dagger that is old as fuck with the death star wreckage. Which lines up exactly. Evidently erosion is Not A Thing.

Finn and Jannah and basically go, Wow Isn’t It Rad That Because We Have The Force We [Finn, Jannah and her crew] Were Able To Reject Brainwashing and Bounce Because We Have The Force.

Rey runs off and Finn yells “REY!!” at some point but at least he knows his best angles while he does it.

Rey meets Dark!Rey who’s a vision....for five seconds. Because Remember if Girls Go Dark They Have Sinned In The Eyes of The Force. Ben shows up and crushes the Holocron because I refuse to call it that stupid-ass name-- dear fucking lord his hand is big--and WELP I GUESS I HAVE THE ONLY ONE.

They fight because We Need A Light Saber Fight Except This One is So Lackluster.

Then Leia reaches out to do something that will use up all her strength says Maz. How does Maz know this? Idk but she’s played by Lupita N’yongo so at least it sounds Deep And Wise because That’s Why You Cast Black People...to sound deep and wise. =_= **deeper breathe**

Anyway, she reaches out to her son! Her son hears her? I think? Either way it distracts him which lets Rey impale him. Except then she heals him?? And is like, I wanted to take your hand, Ben’s hand. which like I’d be fine with if like the movie had like worked for it. But like That Would Involve Actual Conversations Between Characters and We Are Going At 34243242432 pps (parsecs per second) and thus DO NOT HAVE TIme For That.

Ben then has a rehash of the scene from TFA because JJ Terrio is a fucking hack and is unable to create original material and this would have been meaningful if like Any of the Emotions Had Been Earn in The Fucking Film. But hey, I felt .75 of an emotion when Han Solo cradled his cheek so I will accept this. Then he yeets his saber into the ocean. Because. Yeet. Sadly, this movie is Not Over and My Suffering Will Not End

Poe and Finn head back to base with Jannah because I guess that’s what we’re doing? They find out that Leia is dead etc etc etc. The Resistance has a Circle Planning Session for the Final Battle that JJ Terrio lifted straight from ROTJ and the Reddit Bros brought them a corsage for Fanbro Prom. I am reminded that ROTJ was better than this garbage that I Paid Actual Money To Watch. Rey heads to Fish Nun island and decides to pull a Luke Skywalker move even we learned from the Last Movie (TLJ) why that was a Bad Idea but you know WE GET TO SEE LUKE AGAIN IS A GARBAGE WIG BECAUSE REDDIT BROS AMIRITE? We get the most hamfisted performance out of Mark Hamill and I’m just like damn The Last Jedi as a fucking gift and a _Jedi’s weapon is important_ platitude like his dad wasn’t yeeting his saber left and right. But Who Cares About Canon When We Have Pew Pew Pew Pew.

Luke tells her that Yes He And Leia Always Knew She Was A Palpatine which like means - Leia literally did not learn from the Last Time She Obscured Someone’s Parentage and the Fall Out - Actively lied to Rey - Luke actively lied to Rey - jfc this poor girl has been aggressively lied by most of the authority adults in her life??? - HER PARENTS SOLD HER TO PROTECT HER which is such a fucking damning think along with the fact that her parents are idiots and like didn’t think to take her to the new republic and like THERE ARE 23432432 things wrong with this set up but that is a Whole ‘Nother Rant

Also evidently? Leia ended her Jedi Journey (which abbreviated as JJ, coincidence? okay so steve’s movie taste...right off the bat i think he looks for movies that are fun and enjoyable to watch! something engaging that he can enjoy with his friends because steve doesn’t seem the type to watch three hour long movies alone. so what i’m saying is. steve would rather fight ten demodogs then watch the irishman <3

i think to start we should look at what he is actually shown to like in canon so-

- risky business (1983). this came out in late august of 1983, so it was likely that he went to go see this with either nancy or tommy-and-carol. he sings old time rock and roll, gets raybans like joel and he and nancy dress up as joel and lana for halloween! so i think it’s safe to say he and nancy liked this movie! nancy had/has a bit of a crush on tom cruise (“your lover boy from risky business”) so steve probably obsessed over any movie w tom cruise bc of nancy and it seems like risky business was more of a steve-and-nancy thing rather than a steve thing! i think he has a soft spot for the movie bc it reminds him of nancy, but he probably hasn’t watched it since he and nancy broke up :-(

- the next time steve talks about movies is in s3 when keith asks him his top 3, steve’s under a lot of pressure and ends up saying animal house, back to the future and star wars. granted, the questions unexpected so i dont think steve had any time to think so his answers probably aren’t his genuine top 3, but still.

- the first movie he thinks of and the only one he remembers the name of is animal house which came out in 1978 when steve would of been about 12 years old. so i’m thinkin 12 year old steve and tommy h were probably in awe of this movie about a frat house and it stuck w steve ever since jhbksbk.

- from what we can gather from steve’s canon movie taste he likes raunchy comedies, things that are loud and easy to follow <3 but i also think he has a pattern of watching movies that the people he loves love <3

- so for example back to risky business, he knows nancy likes tom cruise so he suggests watching all the right moves which is something he thinks nancy would like. and the same with dustin, dustin likes star wars so steve watches it <3 it’s likely dustin made steve come over for a star wars marathon and steve fell asleep thirty minutes in, the only thing he remembers being the ewoks and harrison ford.

- and i like to think it’s the same with robin, he picks up the apartment, the hidden fortress and children of paradise and takes them back home to watch alone because he wants to see what robin sees. he wants to understand where robin is coming from and he wants to know her. so he watches them and maybe he can’t follow some of the plot. maybe he can’t make sense of the overall message of the movie or the characters motives. but he feels like he understands robin a bit better and her teary eyed smile, when he tells her in the morning at work, makes it worth it <3

- although robin has a more obscure, slightly pretentious taste in film. i also think she and steve like watching fun, campy movies together too! robin’s a theatre/band nerd so she probably ropes steve into watching musicals w her. i think they both go crazy go stupid over footloose and sing all the songs together <3

- i think steve watched fbdo with the kids and liked it! but he also got a sad, quiet feeling in his chest that he couldn’t decipher

- he watched the breakfast club when it came out, instantly saw himself in andrew, but he thought allison was more like jonathan then nancy. he decided to revist that thought later <3 he’s a slut for the indiana jones franchise and it just makes him fall deeper in love w harrison ford!

- i feel steve doesn’t have a very defined taste in movies, he mostly just watches whatever’s playing in theatres or whatever is a top seller at family video! steve, unlike robin and jonathan, doesn’t really have a very distinct taste in movies because he doesn’t really know what he likes! he knows what tommy used to like, what nancy liked, what robin likes, what jonathan (when they become friends!!) likes and what the kids like. and he likes all these movies too but steve doesn’t really know himself and since he had to basically reinvent himself, he hasn’t had a chance to find out who he is. let alone what his taste in film is...

- but robin helps him <3 steve and robin have movie nights nearly all the time and sometimes the party or jonathan and nancy (when they all become better friends) join in :-)

- as for modern au. steve probably watches or watched marvel movies (w tommy) </3, he probably watches romcoms when he’s alone (10 things i hate about you, you’ve got mail, notting hill, clueless, 13 going on to 30 etc) and i think he’s just loves romance movies a lot <3. he’s a slut for period romances (pride and prejudice, emma, sense and sensibility etc) and so is robin!

- i think steve and robin are okay w horror movies, like they have fun watching them and just make fun of all the characters! they both love romance! steve probably likes action bc there’s so much happening on screen but i think steve probably would say he likes comedy the most if you asked him :-)

- robin and jonathan probably would take him to see oscar nominated films and he’s probably been to a film festival or two but only bc robin/jonathan wanted to go. the whole time he asked when ‘barbie fairy princess mariposa’ was gonna play <3

- brings me to the absolute Fact that is. steve loves barbie movies, he goes insane for them <3 he used to watch them all the time when he was a kid until his d*d caught him watching one time and freaked out. banned him from watching, told him to go out and play some sports instead. so </3

- steve and robin went to go see cats (2019) while stoned out of their mind and it was one of their best experiences together.

- he ends up watching a LOT of movies in canon and also modern au bc of the video store and bc robin is a absolute film nerd <3 his favourites change all the time but he LOVES watching his friends fave films bc he feels like he’s getting to know them better when doing so <3

steve just loves people. and likes doing things to get to know them, or to feel closer to them <3 if you casually mentioned your fave movie to him he would probably go home and watch it :-) i think i’ve gone on like seven different tangents but yeah! steve’s only requirements for watching a movie is that it has to be fun, sexy and/or cool. if it is not at least one of them, steve doesn’t give a shit. he’s in it for the sexy. that’s it <3

i know it’s kind of expected that he’d take you to a fancy restaurant and blah blah but i actually think he’d pull a few strings with joe and have a local movie theatre show your absolute favourite film. only you & him are allowed in, and the drinks/snacks are on the house (joe knows the folks who run it)

so it’s super special, and he’s organised it all for you :)

you don’t fill up on too many snacks, though, as he mentioned going to get pie afterwards (if you know you know), which sounded perfect!!

so you do just that. he drives you both there, a short but romantic journey. it’s pretty late, so the stars are out and the air is cool but not cold. just right

you share a pie which is cute but once you’re stuffed, he presents you with your gifts!! he’s brought them into the pie shop in a bag so he can watch you unwrap them and see your face light up

his gifts to you; an elegant, rather expensive necklace (he carefully puts it on for you), a card with lots of reminiscent & kind words in (he basically rambles about the times you’ve spent together and how much he thinks of you), a framed photo of the two of you, a bottle of your favourite alcohol

mr. orange:

i feel like orange would take you on a ride along the coast, the whole california/wind blowing through your hair/sunglasses on/music blaring/stealing kisses at stop lights vibes

you make pit stops for food (fries, burgers, ice cream, just junk food basically) and park where you can see the ocean and people-watch

at some point you’ll go to the beach together, maybe on a walk but you’ll definitely at least have a paddle in the sea. he’ll want to have a swim though

he 100% makes a joke about you two skinny-dipping

running along the shore, shoving each other and laughing, him giving you piggybacks, drawing things in the sand with your toes/fingers

you crash at his place, all sandy and happy. you want to take a shower as soon as you get there, but he makes you wait on the couch first and brings you your gifts :)

his gifts to you; a really ugly Hawaiian shirt (he has the same one, it’s an inside joke between you two how much you hate it), some of your favourite snacks, a beaded surfer-esque bracelet from one of those shitty coastal gift shops, a card with a polaroid selfie of you two on your first date in it along w/ some sweet but sarcastic words in (he likes to annoy you he’s That Kind Of Boyf)

mr. pink:

honestly this guy isn’t the most openly romantic one of the group i think we all know that, so he probably invites you over to his for takeout. charming i know

but he lets you decide what you want, where from, and when you want it without complaining!!! i mean maybe he complains at least once but that’s good for him. (”indian? it’s your birthday and you wanna order fuckin’ indian food? i mean, you decide, but i’m tellin’ ya i don’t wanna go to bed with fuckin’ curry breath”)

it’s a pretty chill evening really. after you finish your food, he tells you to sort out what video you wanna watch on the tv. so while you’re scouring through his (shitty) collection, he slopes off to the kitchen to light the candles on your cake, probably burning his finger in the process (you just hear a ‘FUCK!’ but that’s not uncommon for him to say, as we’re all aware of)

he absolutely does not sing happy birthday but he’s gone to the trouble to buy you a cake, candles, and the other gifts so you better be fuckin grateful (his thoughts not mine)

so he presents you the cake-- “right, don’t tell me your fuckin’ wish, or it won’t come true” before you can even open your mouth. but his features are soft when he says this so you know he’s just being semi-douchey

i feel like he wouldn’t be one to go overboard with gifts but he does actually put thought into them

Fluffy A-Z: Kun

A: activities (things you’d do together)

Once you’ve been together a while, I think Kun would love having you in the studio while he’s working on music. It’s the biggest passion in his life and he would want to share the whole process with the person he loves the most. I also think he’d love more stay-at-home type of dates - cooking together, watching a movie, etc. He could probably be convinced to put on a magic show for you. When you do have outside dates, I think he’s kind of the traditional dinner and a movie kind of guy. Occasionally would take you to the symphony or musical theatre.

B: beauty (things about you he finds physically appealing)

I think Kun would find nice skin beautiful - and not just the skin on your face. I think he likes the feeling of soft skin under his fingers and would always be absentmindedly stroking your arm or leg or your back under your shirt.

C: cuddle style

Kun loves when you sit next to each other and you just lean your head on his shoulder. He can breathe in your scent, put his arm around your shoulders, and pull you tight next to him. His hands never stop running up and down your arm or leg. Likes when you initiate this kind of cuddling.

D: deal breakers (his relationship deal breakers)

For Kun, I think the biggest deal breaker would be someone who is so set in their ways of thinking and beliefs that there is no room for him to try and insert some of his own beliefs. I think he likes people who know what they want and who they are, but he also needs to feel like he can have an influence on them and their beliefs and ways of thinking. So someone who is too stubborn and inflexible about their ideas (or being open to new ideas) would be a complete turn-off for him.

E: education (what and how you learn from each other)

I think Kun enjoys discussing and debating a lot - and the more outrageous or weird the belief/thought/idea that you’re discussing (like, would you rather be a pirate or a ninja?), the better! He also enjoys deeper conversations and debates, but also really likes the fun, playful, and random conversations you have. From these conversations, he not only learns what your take on the subject is, but he also learns how you argue and debate and how your mind works when confronted with strange ideas. He appreciates the quirks that people have in their way of thinking - even if he completely disagrees with you.

F: first impression (the impression he gives off on your first date)

I think Kun would be a bit nervous but would hide it pretty well. He might get a bit clumsy and bump into the dinner table or drop his fork, but nothing too much to give away his nervousness. He would try really hard to always seem interested in what you were saying - even if he found the subject a bit boring or didn’t know anything about it. Overall, I think he would give off a very interested, attentive, and patient vibe on your first date.

G: gifts (things he buys for you)

Because of his thing for nice skin (see B above), I think Kun would buy you a lot of skincare stuff: lotions, bath bombs, perfumes, etc. He would also see this as one way for him to encourage you to pamper yourself. He knows that if he buys you something like this you would use it because it came from him.

H: happy (when he’s the happiest with you)

Kun would be the happiest with you when he can surprise you with something you’ve wanted or wanted to do. It can be difficult for him to keep secrets from you because a)he just doesn’t like keeping things from you in general, and b) he just gets so excited to share things with you that he can’t keep much a secret. So when he’s able to surprise you, and you like the surprise, he’s really happy that he was able to show you how much he cares for you in a fun and exciting way. He loves seeing your happiness at his surprises.

I: introduction (when and how he introduces you to the people in his life)

I think Kun would introduce you to the other WayV members pretty quickly into your relationship. It would probably take a bit longer with some of the other members of the other units (mostly just because there are so many of them). Your first meeting with WayV members would be really casual and most likely unplanned - you and Kun are just watching a movie at his place when someone comes home early. But it’s not a big deal because he’s talked about you to them - and about them to you. It would take him longer to introduce you to his family, but I still don’t think it would be really long. You’re an important part of his life and he would want his family to know you and share in his (and your) happiness.

J: jealousy

I feel like Kun would be quietly jealous. While his facial expressions may give his jealousy away, he wouldn’t ever let on verbally if there was anyone else in the room. When it’s just the two of you, he’s very verbal in telling you how he feels, but he does it in a pretty matter-of-fact way. He wouldn’t lose his temper but I can see him potentially becoming a bit childish in his mannerisms and language - pouting and rolling his eyes a bit. But again, I don’t think he’d have any problem talking rationally with you about it.

K: knew he was in love with you when ...

He had to be away for something for a long period of time (tour, filming, promotions, etc.) and you were understanding that he might not be able to talk or text with you very often - if at all. You would miss each other, but you knew that this was part of the deal when you started dating. And your grace about it (even though it sucked and you were sad and going to miss him) really showed him that you care about him and understand the demands of his career.

L: love language

Acts of Service - Kun would show his love by doing the little, everyday things that need doing. Even though he cooked dinner (your favorite), he would tell you to rest on the sofa while he cleaned up and did the dishes. If you needed to take something back to the store, he’d volunteer to do it on his way to work the next day. If you bought a bookshelf for your apartment, he’d put it together for you.

M: make-out session (his favorite type of kisses)

I actually think Kun really likes fun, teasing kisses. If you were to give him a quick peck on the lips then start to pull away, he’d try to get you to kiss him again. The more you pepper his face with small, quick kisses, the more he’d want to kiss you deeply. But he’d let you tease him for a bit first.

N: nicknames (his for you and what he likes to be called by you)

I feel like Kun would call you something fairly romantic and traditional. I can see him calling you “love” a lot. For Kun, I actually think he’d enjoy it if you called him names that slightly teased him - like “Grandpa” because he’s so cautious, or “Gordon” after grumpy chef Gordon Ramsey. He’d love a nickname based off an inside joke or story that only the two of you share.

O - odor (what he smells like)

For some reason, I think Kun smells really masculine (if that makes any sense). I think he’d use a fragrance that had a lot of typically “masculine” scents in it: woodsy, deep, earthy, etc. But I think he’d wear it lightly so that you can only really smell it when you’re cuddling.

P: pda

I don’t think Kun is big into PDA. If your relationship has been made public, I think the only thing he’d be comfortable doing is holding hands. If it isn’t public, I don’t think he’d be into any PDA - he wouldn’t want to draw attention to you. In the dorms - in front of the other members, managers, etc. - he wouldn’t hesitate to hold hands, kiss you, have you sit on his lap, cuddle, etc.

Q: quirks (odd things he does)

When he doesn’t understand something you’re trying to tell him - or when you’re having trouble explaining something to him - Kun will tilt his head to the side and kind of frown, but with a hint of a smile on his face. He’s not aware he does it - it’s just his natural reaction to finding you cute when you’re attempting to explain something to him.

R: romantic gestures

Early on in the relationship, I think he would be a bit shy about doing anything really grandiose, over the top, or really romantic. He wouldn’t want to come across as too enthusiastic until he was sure of your feelings for him. But once you’ve been together for a while and have both said “I love you”, I think he’d try to think of some really creative things - like leaving post-it notes with one word on them throughout the house, and when you put them together you get a love note.

S: saying I Love You (who says it first)

I feel like Kun would say it first. He wouldn’t wait too long after he realized it, but he would definitely want to make sure you returned the sentiment (or at least were close to doing so) before he said anything. Chances are you’d know anyway from the way he would look at you and the way he would treat you.

T: tail (what pets and animals you’d have together)

I can see you adopting numerous animals together: dogs, cats, even some more unique animals like ferrets or hedgehogs. I think that as long as they were rescue animals, Kun would be totally fine with any pets that could live in the apartment with you (so no horses, goats, etc.).

U: upbringing (what kind of dad he’d be)

I can see Kun being a strict but fun dad. I think he’d always make sure his kids knew and followed the rules he set, but he would also make sure they knew why the rules were in place - something that would be very important to him. And if his kids challenged a rule with good logic and reasoning, I think Kun would be flexible enough to change the rule.

V: vacation style

Kun is a natural leader and planner. Because of that, I think his vacation style is very organized, detailed, and everything is planned out to the minute. It doesn’t matter if you’re relaxing on the beach or exploring a large city - he’ll have the whole thing planned in no time. He’ll know exactly when and where you’re going, how you’re getting there, and what to do when you get there.

W: wild card

I think Kun is someone who is quite certain about what he wants out of life and out of a life partner. He’s also very focused on the things he wants. But I also think that sometimes he can be so focused on what he thinks he wants that he misses some other good things. He would be really appreciative if you were to force him to notice and enjoy something he would typically overlook. He would probably resist a bit at first, but after you explained why he should pay attention, he would do it and enjoy it.

X: eXtremes (the two extreme sides of his personality in a relationship)

I feel that when Kun is hurt he can be very quiet and not really give you the opportunity to explain or apologize (at least right away). He would need some quiet and distance in order to work through his feelings before you talk it out. His emotions when hurt can get pretty dark and he can be full of doubts about himself. On the other hand, he can be very childlike (not childish) in his approach to showing you his feelings when he’s happy. He likes trying to surprise you and gets genuine enjoyment out of your reactions - he loves to laugh, clap, and make funny faces when you react to his surprises.

Y: yes (how often he gives in to you)

I think Kun would give in to you fairly often - but he’d make you work for it first! He can be pretty stubborn and set in his ways of thinking (although he is open to new ideas) so you would need to come up with a good argument. But a lot of the time he’d give in anyway - he just likes hearing your argument and seeing how your mind works.

Z: zzz (sleeping style when you’re together)

Generally, I think Kun sleeps on his side, and i can see him hugging a pillow as well. So when you sleep together, he’s the big spoon while you sleep - and you’re the pillow he hugs. I think he’d really like falling asleep with his nose pressed into the back of your neck and your legs entwined.

The Middle of the Road (Chapter 16)

Chapter 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 , 9, 10, 11 , 12, 13 14 , 15

Warnings: None

September 2024 – Toronto Emily and Keanu flopped down on the bed in their room at the apartment they were renting in Toronto for the week of The Toronto International Film Festival. They had just arrived from LA and were travel weary. He had just had his 60th birthday and would be receiving a Tribute award at the festival, a great honour for any film maker but an especially treasured one for Keanu who had grown up in the city. He remembered when the festival used to take place in his neighbourhood of Yorkville in the late 70s so the whole event was very close to his heart.

The whole family had decamped from LA including their Nanny Maria which would enable them to attend the evening events as well as do some promotion. Keanu had done voice work in a film being premiered there which had a U certificate so they would all attend the afternoon screening. They were taking a bit of a risk with Hannah but Emily or the nanny would be able to take her or Johnny out if either of them got unsettled.

After they had rested up a bit, they all went out to a local Italian restaurant around the corner from the apartment and enjoyed a simple relatively quick meal before getting the babies back home to bed. The next morning found Keanu and Emily enjoying some free time looking around his old haunts – he’d shown her his home in Yorkville, his elementary school, ice hockey stadium, the Leah Poslun Theatre and the location of his first kiss!

“Right there?”? Emily was pointing with an aghast expression on her face at a dingy alley behind a bike rack at the back of an old Walgreens store.

“Yup – I know. I’ve got a bit classier in my old age I hope you agree.”

“And what was her name?”

“Angela”

“Now THAT is a 70s name if ever I heard one. I guess at least your name is just totally unique and not linked to an era like some”

“She was sweet – but not long lasting!” Anyway, I think that is the complete high, and low, lights for you. We better get back and get some lunch before this afternoon’s shenanigans” He was referring to the premiere of his film which was an afternoon affair so kids could attend. Some local children would attend as well as press and the stars and their families. Johnny and Hannah would be there – with the exit strategy of mum or nanny if it was too much. They had watched films at home and had quite good attention spans but Hannah had only been in a movie theatre once and so was a bit if an unknown quantity behaviour wise.

It was also to be their first red carpet as a family. They had kept the children well shielded so far but, accepting that complete privacy wasn’t realistic, they had decided to attend this premiere all together. They all dressed in smart casual clothes rather than the suits and ballgown style of Oscars and that was needed given they would have the kids next to them snacking on ice cream! The press and fans were enthralled with the kids, both dark haired and with big brown eyes strongly favouring Keanu but with the delicacy of Emily’s features. After letting her walk on wobbly legs for a little while, Keanu scooped Hannah up and carried her while Emily walked with Jonathan and Marie brought the buggy and a change bag just in case. Hannah loved waving at everyone and fans called her name which made her laugh. Johnny joined in with waving too, sensing that this was something special but not really at all clear what. It was going to be a while before they understood that their Dad wasn’t just special to them!

The kids enjoyed the film and made it through the whole hour and half without a melt down to everyone’s relief.

That evening Emily and Keanu appeared on a panel about a project they were working on together. There were inevitable questions about how husband and wife could work together which they fended off deftly - working together was after-all how they met and it felt easy compared to parenting and they were glad to keep the topic work focussed. In the next couple of days they each took part in other promo for their work and had a meal out, just the two of them. There they talked about the award show that would be the following night.

“You nervous?” Emily asked as she sipped her coffee.

“Am I ever!” He groaned. “All that intention is intense – I’m used to parts of it – the red carpet, the photos, being filmed in the audience, even being on stage handing out awards or receiving a less significant gong but such focus, and a speech – phew, it’s crazy”

“It’s what you deserve honey, you know that inside don’t you”

He shook his head,

“It’s an honour, such an honour but, no, I don’t know it – it just feels surreal”

“Well just try to enjoy it if you can, hun – OK?, Want to run through the speech back at the apartment?”

“Sure, that would be great to have a writer’s input”

The award day came and they passed as much of it as they could focussing on the kids, taking them to one of the lakeside beaches for playtime and a picnic but eventually time came for the ‘dressing up game’ as Keanu called it. Both of them would spend a few hours being “made beautiful” for the cameras with stylists primping and polishing their hair, clothes and make up to within an inch of their lives. They left the children with Maria and they would tune in later to see Mommy and Daddy on the TV walking the red carpet.

Emily was wearing a stunning sleeveless, full length taffeta gown in red and her birthday necklace to match her ruby engagement ring and Keanu was in the tux he’d worn to the 2020 Oscars. Emily’s palms were sweaty even before they left to go to the theatre. She’d attended public occasions before where there were paparazzi but only one awards show about 4 years ago so she was nervous of the attention, especially as the news of their marriage was still quite fresh.

As they climbed out of the car, Keanu whispered in her ear “Just imagine everyone naked” before they started to make their way up the red carpet, making her giggle and relax just a little.

“I feel like the wives in Apollo 13, if they ask me anything. I’ll just say “I’m proud, happy and thrilled”

“Are you likening me getting an award to going to the moon or a life-threatening mission?!”

“the former for you and maybe the latter for me!”

At first she held Keanu’s arm in a death grip but gradually she relaxed especially as she saw the smiling faces in the crowd and she saw Keanu relax too, signing photos, DVDs and books and posing for photos. Several fans encouraged her to pose alongside him, surprising her. It seemed some people were happy to see him happy with his marriage and kids and thus welcomed her with open arms.

There were a few reporters on the red carpet who stopped them for a few words. Keanu made her laugh, though she tried to hold it in, when he responded to the question of how he was feeling to be receiving the Tribute Award.

“Well I’m proud, happy and thrilled” he said, giving Emily a wink which made the laughter bubble to the surface. They moved on and at last made it into the auditorium and were shown to their seats.

There were several other awards before his but at last it was time for his big moment.

The presentation started with a show reel with clips from his most famous movies as well as some of his lesser known early ones which made him blush. He leaned over and whispered to Emily

“At least they’re not showing the Coke and cornflakes ads!”

After the reel, there were some video clips from some of his directors and co-stars praising – his work, his character and his work ethic. There was Chad Stahelski, Sandy Bullock, Carrie-Ann Moss and Lilly Wachowski. Then it was time for the award itself which Lana Wachowski presented. As he walked up to the stage, the whole auditorium stood, clapping and cheering. He was right, Emily thought, this was really overwhelming! She dabbed a tear away as he took his place at the podium and took a moment to let the applause fade.

“Firstly let me say a huge thank you for this great, great honour - to receive this in the city where I spent my formative years is really very special so thank you.”

More applause erupted then quickly subsided allowing him to continue.

“I owe this award to many other people - first and foremost, I’d like to pay tribute to my mom for believing in me all those years ago when I asked her one day, would it be ok if I was an actor and she simply said ‘whatever you want son’.

And thanks must also go of course to the teachers and directors at the schools where I did plays and at the Leah Posluns Theatre where I really began to learn my craft- thank you for lighting the fire.

Looking back, the reel you showed just now only served to remind me how much I love movies. And a key reason over the years for that love and indeed for much of my success has been the joy of collaboration when making them. Collaboration with many wonderful directors, actors, cinematographers, stunt coordinators, make-up artists, caterers, runners to name but a few is what I thrive on. And they have all made me look good. And I know sometimes I’ve made my fellow actors look good too by how bad I was! Special thanks to Winona and Gary in that regard!

And I can’t forget the writers, for one thing my wife would never forgive me if I didn’t give them a mention.”

Keanu looked over and caught Emily’s eye as she sat in the front row beaning with pride.

“Writers have gifted me some amazing, memorable characters, some of them coming back time and again like Ted, Neo and John Wick. And I think special thanks are due for all the Johns, Johnny’s and Jacks and the quarterback punks that have been a recurring theme for me and such fun to play.

So I love movies and I love the opportunity they give me to tell stories.

But this year, as I hit a big milestone birthday, I am in a new phase in my life and I’m planning on being focussed less on the stories in films and more on my own story. Over the years, my fellow actors and the crews have been like family to me, a band of brothers and sisters if you will. But 5 years ago I met and fell in love with a wonderful woman and she became my family. Then 2 years ago we became parents - and now there are 4 of us. And this year I also became a husband - in all these things as you can probably tell I was a late starter!

So whilst I’m not retiring, going forward I can’t and I don’t want to be the man who is all work and no play. I want to be with my beautiful wife and my kids as they grow and play my part in guiding them in their lives, in their story.

And hopefully, I’ll bring the riches of that experience of being a parent and a husband to my future roles.

Thank you”

There was rapturous applause at this end to his speech and Emily found herself crying once again at his very public commitment to a more balanced life for them all going forward.

Keanu took his leave, heading back stage where there would be a few interviews to do before he could re-join Emily and head onto the after-party. There was a brief break in proceedings and Emily made her way back stage to meet up with him.

Keanu was just taking his leave from one of the news teams when he glimpsed Emily weaving her way between the throngs of stage hands, actors and publicists.

He headed in her direction and indicated a small alcove to the side to aim for. She reached it first and waited for him to join her, his progress being slowed by people stopping to congratulate him on his award and speech. When he finally got there, she threw he arms around his neck.

“That was, just, just”

“Wow have I actually rendered you speechless?” he laughed.

“You didn’t share THAT part of the speech!”

“You mean the bit about marrying a wonderful woman and sharing my story with her?”

“yes that part, you sneaky devil, you made me cry”

“Happy tears I hope?”

“Yes!” she smiled planting a kiss on his smiling lips.

thoughts on endgame

if you haven’t seen endgame yet please turn away now because this is full of spoilers.

seriously spoiler nation here. turn back now while you still have the chance.

here i go.

it’s gonna get long.

it’s been about seven hours since i got out of the movie theatre and overall? i’m upset. and i’m fucking pissed.

also, if you don’t know this by now, i’m a tony stan. my thoughts are biased. sue me.

listen. it’s not an awful movie. overall it’s an okay film. the shots were beautiful. the actors were all excellent. there was lots of fan service and there were tons of moments where it felt really fun. we laughed. we cried. we cheered. but as much as the filmmakers would like to insist that the film is satisfying, i just don’t agree, mainly because of how they decided to end the story.

the good and the mediocre

to start off, rdj’s acting is great. of course it is. it’s rdj. he did amazing with what he had to work with and most of my crying was because of him.

tony and nebula on the ship was great. he was already so fatherly with her, teaching her how to play paper football and encouraging her. and she was looking after him too. there was so much mutual care there that i loved, and i wish that we got more interaction between the two of them throughout the movie.

that little tear he shed when he closed his eyes to go to sleep on the benatar after recording his message for pepper killed me.

when joe russo said that the film was cathartic and evans said that it’s satisfying i can only apply these words to the one scene where tony finally gets to have his outburst and tell the others off for not believing him when he said a threat was coming. he deserved that moment. his anger was completely justified. and when he called steve out specifically, saying that he said that they’d lose together but they ended up not even doing that? when he called steve a liar? that was cathartic.

nat talking about how she used to have nothing and then she got this job, got this family. when she was crying over clint and what he was doing as ronin. that hurt.

MORGAN STARK. oh my god she is a cutie and all of her interactions with tony are just the best. this is the most valid part of the entire movie and that’s that on that. tony is so soft with her and it’s clear just how much he loves her and cherishes the family that he’s managed to have despite the tragedy that happened five years ago. this relationship is perfect and instead of the rest of the movie we should have just gotten three hours of tony and morgan’s father/daughter shenanigans.

tony being domestic and doing the dishes is all i ever wanted

doctor hulk was an interesting concept and i’m glad that bruce finally managed to find a balance between bruce and hulk and melded the two together. but there were times i do feel like he was played off as a joke too much.

the stevetony content is okay, i guess. i honestly wish we got more between steve and tony settling their differences beyond tony just handing the shield back and letting steve know that he figured out the issue with time travel that they’d been having. i wish we had more of them talking and working out their differences from the past. it jumped from tony telling steve that the trust is gone to him asking steve if he trusts him a little too soon without anything ever being discussed.

like really for a film that was marketed to basically be a stevetony event it didn’t really end up with that many interactions between them so it was disappointing.

i love that in the five years since the snap the remaining heroes managed to become friends. nebula and rhodey is an especially great one. and carol and rhodey’s brief interaction at the start of the film got my carolrhodey heart fluttering.

i do like the team interactions we got, even though there weren’t as many as i expected. it does feel like they’re finally seeing each other as a team again for the first time since the party scene in aou. i especially liked when they were working together to figure out when to travel back to in order to find the infinity stones, and that scene with tony, nat, and bruce together on the conference table. i wish we got more of the tony and nat friendship throughout the mcu.

the entire travel back to 2012 new york sequence was a trip. getting to see these characters interacting for the first time again was great. to see the aftermath of the battle was fun -- how they all got drinks from tony’s bar together. they seemed immediately comfortable with each other which was nice. all of them getting into the elevator together but telling the hulk to take the stairs. and speaking of hulk, bruce pretending to be 2012!hulk and smashing things halfheartedly was kinda hilarious.

the blatant ogling of steve’s ass. oh, sorry. america’s ass. that was great. thank you for servicing the stevetony shippers. and steve’s own comment about it after he got in a fistfight with his past self was funny too.

the excessive use of the word “shit” was a great callback to aou and i enjoyed it immensely.

mark 85 is sleek af and i love a shiny gold thotty boy

the cap scenes in 2012 were nice fan service. steve getting into that elevator with the strike team -- everyone thought it was going to be a reenactment of the scene from tws. but the fact that steve said “hail hydra” instead to throw them off was genius. he looked so proud of himself for that.

i like the rhodey and nebula team up. their dynamic is really great and rhodey has some of the best lines in the movie tbh. i love him.

i’m iffy on this but i don’t like that they validated howard stark’s shitty parenting. call him abusive and leave it at that. sure, he admitted that he didn’t want to turn out like his dad, but uhh i guess he did because look how his relationship with tony turned out. but i mean i’m happy for tony that he sort of got the closure he needed?? idk. i’m not sure about this.

it was really touching getting to see thor be able to talk to his mother again. i love frigga.

tony’s version of the gauntlet is fucking badass. it’s ten times sleeker than thanos’ gauntlet and just cool as hell. and dude! think about it. thanos had to travel to nidavellir to get a gauntlet made that could harness the power of the infinity stones. tony didn’t need to do that. he made his own gauntlet with his own tech and he didn’t need to go to any other planet for that. i love one genius.

steve wielding mjolnir was amazing in that moment. it was super cool, you know. he seemed so natural with it and he was even able to call lightning with it. awesome! but once we got to the ending i was like 😒 was he really that worthy. i’m really salty, okay.

the scene when all the undusted come back, and the other heroes scattered around the world join in, and they appear at the compound for that final battle -- it was incredible and very moving. thanos thought he was gonna win but nah!!! avengers assemble!! dope.

RESCUE. we waited so long and finally we were fed.

peter and tony’s hug got me bawling like a baby. i’m so distraught.

that scene with carol coming in and getting the gauntlet from peter, and all the women coming together and saying, “she has help”?? i nutted. that was amazing.

the bad and the ugly

THE SUPREME LACK OF TONY AND RHODEY CONTENT, WHAT THE FUCK. when they landed back on earth and rhodey didn’t get a chance to hug tony...hm. did not like that! let these best friends hug, ffs. and why didn’t we get to see rhodey interacting with morgan?? this is fake as hell.

it was kinda shitty that steve and co. had to show up right when tony was having a good time with his daughter to deliver the news about the quantum tunnel and time travel to tony. because of course tony would never sit idly by when there’s a problem he can solve. especially not when he’s reminded that he lost peter in that awful decimation five years ago. it’s not in his nature to not help. so that’s what he does. he solves a problem and he goes to suit up again because he would never forgive himself if he didn’t even try.

thor......they really turned him into a depressed alcoholic that’s just playing fortnite at home instead of a ruler looking after himself and the people he was supposed to protect.....they really just erased all his development from ragnarok huh. i’m mad.

also, a lack of tony and bruce interaction?? where are my science bro moments?? they were supposed to be the two biggest brains of the team working on mechanics of time travel but we really couldn’t have seen even a brief montage of them working together to science things out? wow fake!

also now that i think about it, where were dum-e and u?? where???? where were the best bots in the world?????

idk why clint and nat were the ones to go to vormir. definitely was not expecting this at all, but fuck. okay. this is where the anger really starts. okay. i get it. i get that nat sacrificed herself so that clint would have the chance to reunite with his family after this shitshow was all over. but nat had family too. she said it herself. she found her family with the avengers. but they really decided to throw another woman off the cliff to fuel more man pain. great! just great!!

seriously, nat deserved better.

they really. they really fucking killed off tony. they really did that and they had tony sacrifice himself. and all for what? shock factor? it wasn’t necessary. they didn’t need to kill him to end his arc. he could have been permanently injured instead, to the point where he wouldn’t be able to suit up again. he would have happily accepted this as his last mission. his priority was always to get home to his wife and daughter. despite the trauma he went through over the last ten years, the ptsd he came away with after sending a nuke through a wormhole, his team’s falling out, watching his best friend fall from the sky, being betrayed by someone he thought was a friend, getting stabbed by his own weapon on an alien planet, and losing a kid that he treated like his own, he managed to find a sliver of happiness with pepper and morgan. he had a happy ending. the happy ending he had wanted for the last several years. but the filmmakers took that away from him. they took away his happiness, and not just that. they took away a woman’s husband. they took away a little girl’s father. it was unnecessarily cruel and it sends a shitty message. it’s a disservice to tony, a disservice to the iron family, and a disservice to the fans that have stuck with the mcu from the very beginning, when iron man first came out and we decided to hop on for the ride.

tony deserved better.

also, rhodey should have been able to say something to tony before he drifted off for the last time. i was glad that he was the first to find tony, but they should have had their moment. this man had been with tony through thick and thin and he deserved to say his proper goodbyes.

or at the very least, they should have had a moment during tony’s funeral where the important people delivered their eulogies and spoke the words that needed to be said about tony. an explicit acknowledgement from the characters about how much tony had done, how integral he was to their success and survival, and how he made the ultimate sacrifice to get rid of their biggest threat so that the world could be put back together.

the only consolation i get from this is that tony made that sacrifice and died on the battlefield where the rest of the team could see. that the undusted and the living both are aware of how selfless tony is (and has always been), and he gave up his happy ending to make sure that the rest of them got theirs.

well his “i am iron man” was badass too so i’m glad he got to go out with that.

speaking of happy endings, lmfao what the fuck @ steve? i’m pissed at this ending. that was honestly the most selfish thing that steve could have done, all because the russos have always had a permanent boner for steve’s story with peggy. it’s just so sad. they won’t let him move on. his character development is stifled. it’s so backwards. peggy had a family and lived a full life without steve, but after seeing her for thirty seconds while he was in the past, he really decided that he needed to go back and spend the rest of his life with her. he threw away everything he worked for in the present -- his teammates, an unfrozen and recovered bucky, his running buddy and overall great guy sam -- for a relationship with a woman that he shared one single kiss with and that he knew for, what, like two or three years? jesus. let him move on! let him find happiness in the present! he never gave love another chance just because he thought he thought he met the love of his life 70 years ago. who’s to say he wouldn’t have found love in the present, huh??

they did him dirty. they did peggy dirty. and tbh they did sharon dirty from the very beginning. but that’s salt for another day.

so here we have tony, dead at 53 who really only experienced true happiness for five years with the woman he had been in love with for over a decade. then we have steve, who was on this earth for 105 years, then went back in time and got another 40 or so odd years of happiness with a woman he had only known for a few short years.

sure. that sounds fair. totally fair.

fuck no, it’s not. it’s a terrible fucking ending.

that’s just shit storytelling and if this was done all for the shock factor to make sure that we couldn’t guess what happens to these characters then it was a poor decision and it completely ruins tony and steve’s story arcs.

what kind of shit ending is this.

Notes: Alternate Universe where Alex is a student at Hollywood U and dating Professor Hunt in secret. Alex has finished Permanent Wounds and in a last-ditch effort to beat the Stone’s at the box office, Alex and Chris Winters have come forward about their on-set romance in hopes of drawing more attention to the film. Who doesn’t love a love story? Professor Hunt, perhaps? Is their relationship in trouble? @choicesnovemberchallenge - Day 24 Trouble

It was the downward turn of his lips that pulled her focus. It wasn’t because frowning was unusual for him but this was something different...something more. Alex shot him a curious, questioning look, but before she could see his response, her attention was pulled back to the cameras flashing in front of her.

“How does it feel to be Hollywood’s hottest couple?” A reporter asked.

“I never thought I could be so lucky to find someone like Alex!” Chris’s arm around her waist pulled her closer. He pressed his lips to her temple.

Alex shook her head lightly and beamed brightly. She turned into his kiss, giving the paparazzi what they wanted. “I think we’re both lucky. Who would have thought when we started Permanent Wound we would have found something more important than the story.”

Alex and Chris continued answering questions about their relationship and the movie.

“Thank you for coming. We hope you enjoy Permanent Wound as much as we do!” Alex gave the paparazzi one more glamour shot before turning her attention back to where she last saw Hunt. She scanned the red carpet around her but he was gone.

“Is everything okay?” Chris whispered as they walked hand in hand down the carpet.

“Yeah,” Alex answered still distracted. “I’m sure it was nothing.”

“I can’t believe how many people showed up for the premiere!” Chris marveled. “With any luck, we really will pull this out!”

“We still have a long weekend ahead of us, but I’m hopeful,” Alex admitted. “Though, I do feel bad lying to get there.”

“I can understand that,” Chris comforted her. “I still don’t like it either. If it’s any consolation, this does get easier. It’s just the fastest, cheapest way to promote a movie.”

Alex offered a slight nod of understanding. “I just hope it’s all worth it! I need this! We all have a lot riding on the success of this film.”

Alex and Chris continued posing for and talking with reporters.

Finally, they made it to the theatre. Alex breathed a sigh of relief, they had made it through the press with their faux relationship intact. She had been a little worried one of them would slip up and they would be outed as frauds.

“Let’s go sit over there,” Alex suggested, noticing Hunt sitting in the front row, with two empty seats next to him.

“Our seats are over there though,” Chris pointed to where the rest of the film’s cast was seated. “You want to sit next to Hunt?”

“I mean if we really want to know how the film is, who else is going to be so critical? If Hunt likes it, we’ve got this!” Alex explained; it wasn’t the whole truth, but it was a fact.

“And if he makes snide remarks under his breath the whole time, you’re going to be second-guessing every decision you made all weekend,” Chris responded, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. “Are you sure it’s worth it?”

“I have to know!” Alex admitted though she had more than just the film on her mind.

“It’s your big day, whatever you want,” Chris agreed. “Let me go tell Holly where we are so she doesn’t worry that we skipped out. I’ll meet you there in a minute.”

“Thanks, Chris.” Alex kissed his cheek. “You’re really a great fake boyfriend.”

Chris winked as he flashed his award-winning smile and made his way over to their friends.

Alex sat down next to Hunt, focusing her attention on the screen in front of them. “I was looking for you.”

“You found me,” Hunt stated.

“Clearly. Are you okay?” She whispered. “I get the feeling that you’re upset.”

“This isn’t the time,” he reported. “Focus on your film.”

“I can’t,” Alex admitted, turning to face him. “I need to know we’re okay. I know Permanent Wound has been monopolizing all my time lately. I’m sorry.”

“It’s not the film,” Hunt muttered under his breath.

“What then?” She pleaded.

“Alex–” Hunt started but quickly turned back away.

“Holly is a little on edge, but she’ll be fine…. I think!” Chris took his seat on the other side of Alex.

The theatre lights dimmed. Chris rested his hand atop hers. “You’ve got this!”

“Thanks, Chris,” Alex smiled. “I couldn’t have done this without you by my side. I mean that!”

In the darkness right before the film began, Alex could just make out Hunt’s puckered mouth twisted to the side. She could barely contain the giggle rising in her throat. Chris gave her a quick look, but she shook him off. He turned his attention back to the movie starting.

Alex shifted as close to Hunt as she dared without drawing curious eyes. “You’re jealous.”

“I think not,” Hunt whispered. “Now if you don’t mind, I’m trying to focus.”

Alex beamed as she couldn’t take her focus off him.

“Stop it!” He breathed.

“Not until you admit it,” she smirked.

“People are starting to look.” Hunt looked away from her focusing his attention intently on the film unfolding before his eyes.

“They’ll just assume I’m badgering you with questions. You know how good I am at being a disruption,” Alex teased.

“You are impossible,” Hunt mumbled.

“Yes. And you are jealous!” Alex enjoyed this far more than seeing her movie on the big screen.

She reached over and took his hand in hers. Maybe, she didn’t need him to admit it, knowing he cared enough about her to be jealous of a fake relationship was enough. She turned her focus back to the movie.

Hunt lifted her hand and brushed his lips across her knuckles. His face softened as he returned her hand to the armrest between them, interlacing his fingers above hers.

As the movie reached its climax, Chris turned to tell Alex how well he thought it was going so far but stopped when he noticed her holding hands with Hunt. Both of them were focused on the film. He smiled to himself–a lot of things made sense now. Chris quickly turned his focus back to their film. That wasn’t his story to tell.
