For years I thought the lyric "I'd make a deal with God and get him to swap our places" meant the singer wanted to make a deal to swap places with god itself, to become god, and I didnt realize this wasn't the dominant interpretation of the song. And I did and still do think my interpretation is very romantic.

Trying to buy sudafed at the pharmacy is like yeah, I know people make meth out of this but I swear I’m actually sick please please let me buy this guilt free
