Damian, early into his stay with his Father and right at the precipice of his hatred of Tim, finds a sword. It is named Soul Shredder, and rumored to have belonged to a very strong spirit of vengeance.
He decides to use it to prove he is superior to Drake.
He takes the sword, walks up behind Drake's unsuspecting form, and with one clean cut; he lops off his head.
The reaction of Father is instant; he screams. It's a hollow, broken thing. It's full of grief and rage and pain, and Damian takes one look at his Fathers eyes and knows it is time to run.
This is not a victory.
This is not an achievement.
He will not be praised.
He is going to be hunted to the ends of the earth.
He turns and flees, just in time to hear Grayson scream as well; horrified turning to enraged.
He runs from them for months. At one point even Todd joined in, congratulating Damian on making Father willing to break his code and kill the Joker if it meant help in hunting him down. After that Todd had struck, managing to take Damian's arm in a moment of weakness.
At six months, he finds himself cornered.
Grandfather and Mother had agreed with Father upon hearing how badly Damian had shamed himself, and were watching apathetically from behind the Batman.
Batman, Nightwing, and Red Hood move forward as one.
Batman, Nightwing, and Red Hood strike as one.
Damian blinks...and falls backwards, letting go of the sword he just grabbed.
Drake turns around, startled, head still attached to his neck.
Ears ringing, Damian can't hear whatever Father is saying as he pats him down for injuries. Can't hear whatever Drake says as he moves forward cautiously to do his own injury check.
All he can think of is that he has been given a second chance, and he cannot allow anything to happen to Drake.
Or; Damian touches Soul Shredder, the blade of the Fright Knight. It was in the Batcave for storage, since apparently Constantine won it in a skewed deal and didn't want it around him.
As a result, he's thrown into a nightmare of his own worst subconscious fears; being rejected after doing what he was supposed to do, and losing a fight.
Now, he's overly paranoid of anything at all happening to Tim.

This is sad but unfortunately I think this is just going to be the norm for the next few years as streaming services die a slow death.
HBO Max should in theory be able to make money from a show that was at one point the top new series in the US. At the time, David Jenkins said "This is what happens when a major media company invests in inclusive mainstream stories" (agree!) but unfortunately that major media company, like all streaming services, has a terrible business model that can't support that investment.
This is an interesting article about how streaming services are losing money and scrambling to make it back by trying to convince people to buy cheaper, ad-supported options or bundling with other streaming services. Unfortunately for them, I think that's like... all of the options? At some point they're just going to continue to lose money. Making shows is expensive and very few consumers are willing to pay more when they could just cancel and use a cheaper service (or, you know. 🏴☠️)
This is also a good article that was written after Shadow and Bone was cancelled by Netflix about whether it could be saved:
"The problem is that while saving shows used to be plausible, at times, the cost of Shadow and Bone combined with the fact that streaming services are really, really starting to cut back on spending means that this would be an extremely tough sell. WB Discovery’s Max is being lambasted for killing finished projects for tax breaks to chip into its massive debt. Disney Plus has done the same thing and has said they will cut back on things like expensive Marvel shows. Amazon Prime is mired in expensive creator deals going nowhere and throwing insane amounts of money at projects they are realizing are not panning out. Paramount Plus losing $500 million a year. NBC’s Peacock is losing $650 million a quarter."
TLDR; Streaming services have reached such a dire point financially that they have to cancel some of their most popular content (Marvel shows on Disney+???? These have seemingly been very successful; it's wild to read that they're "cutting back") in the desperate hope that a new season of something that's cheaper to make will get more attention.
What I gathered from these articles is that steaming services are dying a slow death and sadly, a lot of good shows are going to go with them.

Upgrading the 'polaroid magnet' idea of 2019 for 2023's Xmas card trades, these ones are made from wood and use actual magnets! Luxurious! |D All the poses are also referenced from actual party photos i've taken of other people, to add to the candid vibe lol.
The dreamcatcher is kind of a gag gift (yes the craft project i reffed here) for some friends. Since they don't have the ability to fight their nightmares i have offered to [try and] do it for them XD
Made from: Wooden craft polaroid (plus some backing MDF pieces), magnet, misc decorating items (glitter, wooden shapes, gel pens, paint etc). The dreamcatcher is just a storebought one with laminated paper mes wired to it

Pro-Hero Bakugou who lost his spot in the top 50 rankings when he was in an accident at work, losing his arm and as a consequence half his quirk along with it.
His therapist has given him the choice of desk duty or simple security tasks to help integrate him back into the field. Tasks that even a sidekick wouldn’t want to do— but of course he’s livid when he finds out he’s tasked to be your bodyguard and find out who’s stalking you. Wanting to get his name back into the charts and go back to how things were before— but he doesn’t expect to start falling for you in the process.

Valor sped over the water on his staff. He didn't often come out over the ocean, and especially not this far from his house, but tonight, after a particularly bad nightmare, he wanted to fly somewhere different. The ocean provided a different type of breeze with a different type of smell, the spray of water should he choose to dip down close enough, and different types of animals for him to encounter on his flight. Plus, there was far less a risk of being seen overhead, when there wasn't a whole town of humans beneath him.
But less of a risk didn't mean zero risk. Even covered in as dark clothes as possible, if one happened to be looking in the right direction at the right time, they could see the streak of him and his staff rushing over the water.
