I've shared this before, I'll share it again, and in the future I'll share it again and again! But this is absolutely my favorite fighting game track ever made. Let it get going, too. Holy shit the parts that play during Critical Health and High Combos are amazing. Ofc despite being a big fighting game fan my other all time favorite is from the same series. Sorry everyone else, sorry sorry. You're all great but you're not a Hammer Horror pipe organ masterpiece that has no business being a fighting game track but THAT DIDN'T STOP IT.

Hi I am very sorry for barging in unannounced but I really wanted to thank you for your posts regarding Elden Ring’s pvp scene. I plucked up the courage to try some dueling on a high lvl character and god DAMN it is so fucking fun even if I have no clue what I’m doing. I actually feel confident enough to equip the taunter’s tongue on some other characters to spice up my normally singleplayer only experience, thank you so much!

You are not the first to tell me this, and you are not the last, thank you so much for this!

Elden Ring PvP is like a special hobby for me, that has connected me with wonderful people, entertained me for thousands of hours, and genuinely made me a happier person. I don't expect it to have the same effect on everyone, but I encourage people to at the very least try it out and engage with it in a thoughtful manner.

That first invasion experience with doing Varré's quest that sucked? It could turn out to be more fun than you've ever had with the actual main game! Maybe you are the person who has what it takes to get into it and have fun with it!

At the very least try PvP. Try dueling, try invasions, with friends or random people. You paid a bunch of money for this game, and there is a sizeable community for whom PvP is like 90% of it! Get your money's worth god damn it!!

Agitation aside. I'm genuinely happy for you, and I think I could even say proud of you! I hope you stick around for the DLC, whether you're buying it or not, the activity surge is gonna come, and it's gonna be a great time to be an invader or duelist.

I would also love if you actually posted about your PvP experiences in the Elden Ring tag!

nobody talks about the struggle when you love history but despise wars and killing and all the nasty stuff humans are capable of.

Like I get that wars shape the geopolitical state of the world but I want to learn about the art, the outfits, the gossip, the architecture, the silly little things from lives of people that came before us.

For example the French revolution. It was important and a lot of people died and stuff but what was Marie Antoinette wearing when she was executed, hm? What outfit did she choose to die? Hm? That's the actually interesting stuff.

the problem with adaptations is that

there's always gonna be some sort of limitations that the creators have to take into account when telling the story in a different form of media

so most of the time, some of elements that makes the original so impactful kinda... lost in translation, to say the least

Honestly, it kinda surprises me that no one has pointed out yet the similarities between the iconic duos Joker & Harley Quinn and Jeremiah & Jerome Valeska?

I'm not saying they're one and the same because I'm not delusional. J&H are canonically a romantic pair and J&J are twins that have a complicated relationship, that's the facts. But.

I wanna point out a few things:

Much like Harley, Jeremiah's introduction to the series was based on answering questions about another character. Harley answered the question of 'can you cure the Joker?' or 'can anyone love someone like him? what it would look like?' meanwhile Jeremiah comes as an answer to 'how poorly went Jerome's childhood?' and 'did Jerome ever love his family? was he really just unfeeling all this time?' which is ✨ AWESOME ✨

Another thing is Jerome's goal towards his brother. Driving him insane, not to just kill him afterwards as he says he'll do(which is proven false when you consider the recording on the little clown box, when he says "You'll be my ultimate revenge, burn it all down.") but to be a tool for HIS legacy to keep on, servicing him and his ideals. Harley Quinn and Jeremiah as Joker are another person's creations.

Continuing on the first topic, Jerome never stops being part of Jeremiah's character. From the diary and his insistence on proving himself better to the commenting here and there about understanding Jerome's obsession and losing his family, his backstory will ALWAYS be that he had a twin and their relationship soured, his twin fundamentally changed him and he was left behind. People, that's the fucking exact same shit we see with J&H, Harley has branched out to other projects, getting a life of her own but her backstory is that she had a boyfriend that fundamentally changed her and their relationship soured, she was left behind. C'MON.

Also, not that important of a point but I just find it funny that: Harleen and Xander(notice both have distinctions based on names to their characters as well, an important point in their stories(assumed identities)) were both professionals in their respective areas, a psychiatrist and an engineer, and neither could keep away from the danger that Joker and Jerome presented in what was supposed to be their own field - Harleen as Joker's doctor couldn't evade his manipulations completely and Xander's bunker ultimately failed to keep them separated because Jerome knew him all too well.

AND! Both duos feel entitled to one another, in whatever way you may interpret it. J&H and J&J have distinctively treated each other like property, I will not elaborate 'cause that's obvious shit.

In conclusion, I'm NOT trashing Ecco(as she's supposed to be Gotham's version of HQ, I fucking LOVE her) or trying to convince anyone that Twinleska Is Canon™ but it is super fascinating that the writers seemingly did all of it by accident! And as a big fan of the Joker & Harley duo, I'm very happy to notice it 💕

(And don't worry, I don't need the writers to make them a gay version of J&H, I'm on my way to doing it myself~)
