I snuck in a lil treat of my work in progress housewarden card. The jumpscare it was to toggle my version with the og card underneath, y'all. Am I making my version of pretty much all his cards? Yes. Will they ever be finished? Who knows? Anyways, onto the headcanons...

- Physically, I feel like I changed a lot and not a lot at the same time. I gave him some more scars which I guarantee you are from really stupid accidents.

- Piercing on his ears just cause I felt they fit him and snakebites because (I'm so down bad for them) it gave the illusion of fangs even with his mouth closed. Gave him moles cause they're pretty.

- I textured his hair and gave him a shit ton more because if the og design won't AT LEAST give him fluffier hair, what's the point? Yana Toboso, if you don't give this man a high ponytail in the Clubwear Card, I will hunt you down. Also made his front, larger braids the colour of Cheka's (And presumably Farena's) hair because honestly? They didn't really look similar enough? Also threw in some smaller braid to 'tie' them in more (haha).

- Someone gave him like this cool inverted pupil due to a scene in the movie but I simplified it to basically heterochromia.

- This might be hardly noticeable but I give give him slightly more muscle? I felt it suited him more idk.

- Onto non-physical headcanons, he has 💕depression💕! This is kinda not up for debate given how much he exemplifies the symptoms. Hell, he made me realise that I may have depression cause I was like, "Damn, he's so relatable, not wanting to get out of bed, no motivation to do anything, struggling to care of himself. He just like me frfr- oh..."

- By the way, I see a lot of people talking about Ruggie's reaction to the fallout of Book 2 but I think that on Leona's side, he felt horrible and probably locked himself away for a WHILE. I think his mental state must have been terrible and I'm SO PISSED HIS FCKING PROBLEMS NEVER GOT BROUGHT AGAIN WTF! Well, I'm on Book 4 so maybe???

- Anyways, I saw someone posit he could also be autistic, more on the asymptomatic side which is actually growing on me a lot. Picky eater, doesn't like tighter clothes, not fond of loud noises, smaller things but I'm a fan.

- Really random but I like the idea that he's one of those people who kids love for literally no reason, he just doesn't like to be around them.

- Is actually extremely book smart, though that's kinda already canon but I mean this bitch was a nerd when he was younger. Knows way too much on various topics, especially about his homeland.

- He can purr. I know lion's can't but there are literal mer and fae. He's just a big kitty. My and Idia like 🤞 when it comes to thinking of Leona as just a big meow. I have a cat who doesn't like anyone but I'm her favourite, I could win him over.

I could talk about him for sooooo long tbh so I'll shut up now.

(he/she) Bigender - Biromantic Asexual

God I love my bigender child.

- I made him black, though probably mixed and gave him vitiligo for both visual flavour and a mild(?) reference to like hyena spots?

- He originally was going to have her hair down but then I realised how many of them had their natural hair already so I gave him dreads? I'll have to render them out at some point.

- Gave her more scars too, since she grew up in a more rough environment. Made his eyes really big and cute 'cause I feel like she can get extras when she hits 'em with the puppy eyes.

- Probably got mad ADHD, has to constantly be fiddling with something or another. Wears spinny rings a lot. He's actually really good at paying attention in class and likes to learn.

- Steals from Leona, whether it's money or items or clothes he leaves out (which, while Leona would never admit, he purposefully leaves out for Ruggie).

- Oh and a post pointed out that hyenas can purr, so have fun with that.

(he/him) - Queer (he doesn't know lol, just knows he likes dudes at this point)

Not me struggling to find a weight emoji (I failed) 😭😭😭

- Ah, I made a reference in the Heartslabyul post about my concern about darker skinned characters with white hair and I was mainly talking about Jack. I also had to make Kiki, and I figured that wolves have pretty naturally salt-and-pepper hair, so why not. I actually love how it looks omg, it's very pretty and marbled.

- Gave him darker skin, since I headcanon him as black but I did see someone who designed him as indigenous so it might change in the future idk. Also it makes his eyes almost glow and I love that for him.

- He gets more scars too, though likely from sports rather than fights or anything.

- He's autistic. Apologies that so many of them are autistic to me, not only am I autistic but like, the way they're written speaks to me. His whole moral compass being the reason for Book 2 playing out like it did was an immediate 'yes' from me. He's my boy and my son and I will fistfight anyone that smack talks him (looking at those Savannaclaw NPCs in one of Deuce's vignettes).

- Oh, I forgot. He listens to K-Pop. I don't know if it?s canon that he has younger siblings, though I totally think he does, but one of them accidentally got him into K-Pop and J-Pop so whenever he's at the gym, that's what he's listening to lmao. Specifically girl groups, he likes them enough that he knows all their names. He insists it's out of respect, which it is but he's also lowkey a stan too lol.

- Generally has a weakness for cute things, even if he doesn't show it. Also a total plant nerd omg. He could instruct you on pretty much any houseplant on how much sunlight and water it needs, seasonal changes, etc.

Final note is that I'll make a separate post about him and Epel, cause I love them and have some headcanons there too.

Third Year - (she/her) Transfem - Aromantic Demisexual Sapphic

- Twisted from Rafiki? I think that's his name, the baboon. I'm crying sobbing throwing up that you can't see her eyes in this.

- She got the white hair since the fur on a baboon is directly white and took inspiration from Dislyte's Isis design. Her eyes are a pale gold like her earrings and she has red to blue eye shadow.

- Natural resting bitch face but she's just tired most of the time. She'd probably be the actual vice housewarden as I think her family has been close to Leona's for a long time, though she earned her spot with her own skills.

- Additionally, I wouldn't call her and Leona 'childhood friends' but she's known him for a long time. She's like, concerned about him as he's changed so much but she also worries that it's not her place. As a result, she tries to make sure Ruggie's not taking on too much and handles most of the dormhead duties herself.

- Mandisa is also based on the hyenas, though I don't know if her and Ruggie are from the same pack necessarily.

- I gave her scars, moles, and some piercings as well, I just felt like they'd suit her.

- I think she and Jack would be relatively similar in terms of personality, I see her being the gruffer upperclassmen. I think she'd be rather protective of the first years, knowing how harsh the older dorm members can be and she does her best to make everyone feel welcome.

- That being said, she's more than capable of defending herself as she's good at various martial arts.

- She's into rock music and joined the music club as a result. Probably a drummer or guitarist as I think she's insecure about her voice.

- She and Mandisa are quite close and she convinced them to dye the edges of her hair red. Abayomi wanted touch up hers and managed to get Mandisa in on to lol.

your eyes widen. it is a little past lunchtime, and as the thought crosses your mind your stomach growls. rising up quickly, you draft your report and call out to your attending who is glued to their own screen in the dark room that you’re taking lunch. she murmurs something in agreement under her breath.

it’s very bright outside in contrast to the reading room, but you make a quick way out to the driveway where patients are unloaded to see where izuku’s parked. he could probably walk (or jump) here but that attracts too much attention, so whenever he does surprise you at work, he shows up in the old SUV you refuse to give up despite the fact that he makes well enough money to upgrade you.

you grin as you see him, running up to the lowered passenger window. he grins as he sees you too - he didn’t work today, so he’s dressed down, although he looks upsettingly good in his simple white spandex t-shirt.

“what’d you bring me?” you say quickly, before even opening the door.

izuku raises his eyebrows.

“myself.” he’s still smiling but you frown and your stomach growls again.

“yourself?” you pout but then you get annoyed. he’s been home all day and you’re starving and he usually brings food if he can and thus food is all you can think of right now, even if you are always glad to see him.

“how long do you have?” he asks, tentatively as he starts the car but doesn’t drive off yet. “i missed you… and you’re coming home late again tonight…”

his hand rests on your knee and by the way he caresses it you can sort of tell already what he wants-

“not long enough if that’s what you’re thinking of,”  you pout. maybe you’re a little bit of a brat, but more childish anger wells up within you.

“you really didn’t bring any food?” you lament.

he chuckles, and drives off as you stare outside the window. it’s only when he makes a right turn off into the parking garage and not onto the main road that you start to wonder what’s going on.

“indulge me a little bit?” he asks. the car continues to turn up and up and up until you’re basically on the rooftop. blood is starting to rush to your temples.

you turn to him, irritated this time.

you hate when he starts like this because he will keep on egging you on, so reluctantly you draw back further and punch him in the face.

he barely moves from the impact and pouts.

“could be better,” he sighs. he takes your wrist before you can draw it back; it really wasn’t a hard punch, but you wanted him to shut up and now your hand stings a little. he can tell with the wince in your face, and kisses your wrist, eyes still focused on you.

your face warms. the close contact always does to you; he knows you too well.

“s-should we really?” you think out loud as he inches closer. he leans back for a moment and watches you carefully. he’s done bothering you at this point you can tell from the suddenly slightly more pensive look in your eyes.

I like how in the flashback Babakar tells Assane that he reminds him of his mother and then it turns out she was a criminal

This seems to be around the time of Raoul's birthday again; he really can't catch a break on that

New shipping war just dropped: Guédira/Belkacem vs Guédira/Fleur

That bit where Claire was outright begging Benjamin to tell her Assane was alive and he couldn't...that was sad

But then it was followed by Benjamin doing the "uhh my FRIEND just died" act with Belkacem which was funny

These 1998 flashbacks are pretty dark actually

Honestly the way Claire got that reveal out of Benjamin was very well-played on her part

Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not totally sure Benjamin knows that Assane betrayed him. It's possible he just thinks that he fucked up with the bracelet and then missed a cue in the maze

"Pasta with ketchup" jesus fucking christ Claire that sounds horrendous (although I'm guessing the only reason they did that was because of the ketchup-bottle reveal)

Assane really has Claire's number because he's now seduced her twice under two different identities

IDK whether or not Raoul has figured out that the coach is his dad but it's funny that he still seemed to be shipping it either way

It's nice that we get to see Claire's more playful side in this season, like her messing with Assane by acting really flirty with "Alex" after she realizes they're the same person

INCREDIBLE casting for the younger and older versions of Keller tbh; they easily look like they could be the same person

What a nice family reunion...it would be a shame if something happened to it...

The flashbacks are significantly darker than the present timeline this time around

Guédira finally got to arrest Assane, good for him!

Hello stranger, I saw you asking about gen v supe names so I come bearing offerings:

For Marie, the best I've heard so far is Heartstring (which I think would work especially well if we're imagining vought's influence, and trying to push Marie as the new Starlight) I also like Heartstopper and Queen of Hearts, but I think those lean more towards villain names

For Emma, she could keep Cricket, but I like the idea of her picking something to do with her giant form, so: Giantess, or Colossa, or Titania

For Jordan, (now realistically vought would chew them up and give them the most cliche, cringy name possible, but ignoring that) my personal favorite is Pulse or Pulsar.

For Cate, I've seen Push as a good option, but I also like Siren, Whisper, or Piper (as in like the pied piper)

For Andre, I hate to say it but I think he'd just take up Polaris. Though I also think Magneta, (I know it sounds like magneto but TB universe doesn't know that) or Steel would work, I could also see Vulcan (the Roman god of metal) being cool but that might be too niche. (Metallo would be my first choice but it's been used sadly)

For Sam, tbh Sam's powers are pretty stock, so he could probably pick anything he wants. I could see him taking up something that follows the same format as his brother, so: _____ boy (ironically the first choice that I think would come to Sam's mind is superboy, but that is of course off limits, though personally, I'd find it hilarious) maybe Ultra Boy or Power Boy, or the Strong Man (who am I kidding these are all terrible, I've got nothing for Sam... Super Sam?)

Really though when you look at naming conventions (both in the boys and in superhero tradition overall) a lot of heroes' names don't have a ton to do with their powers and are either: highly generic (Superman, Mr. Fantastic, Captain Marvel, Wondee Woman etc) or have to do with a gimic that isn't necessarily related to their powers, so there's actually quite a bit of wiggle room, to just pick whatever sounds good.

Heartstring is so good, it fits Marie so perfectly I gasped because yes exactly. I was thinking Emma should have a name change to kind of symbolise her regaining her autonomy from her mother with how she was forced to portray herself, I'm feeling Titania tbh. I really really like Pulse for Jordan simple effective love love love. Siren for Cate is insane cause not only does it encompass the nature of her powers but it also speaks to how she's used them, how she's lulled her friends into a false sense of security then caused them harm (wiped their memories) like yesssssssss. Ugh this is such a good listttt. Andre I think would change his name from the one he'd inherit from his dad, I was workshopping something like Silver Bandit, Heavy Metal or Ironclad (already in marvel lmao fml) or Steel Knight to pay homage to his rebel without a cause energy. I wanted just Steele but that's already a version of superman I think, John Irons I believe holds that mantle. I think even just Ultra would work as a name for Sam. Or maybe just The Boy like how Kimiko's The Female idk.

Okay, a head canon for Sonya: So like her whole role in this like 2 person outlaw outfit is that she's pretty good at a lot of things, jack of all trades type shit, but one of things that she is actually fucking terrible at is like outdoorsyness/survival and part of that is that she's is really bad with animals. With people? No problem, like disarming situations and keeping a cool head is one of the things she is extremely good at. A well socialized dog or cat she's okay with, but like a wild animal or a larger animal she is completely in the weeds on. Just really not good at reading body language or remembering what is or isn't venomous

An aesthetic: I mean obviously western but in like a modern setting for sure butch, like boots, jeans, tank top, flannel, keys on a carabiner, like stereotypical lesbian shit. Honestly very little change probably still wears cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. She has like long, thick hair that she usually braids and idk if that would change but I could see her with an undercut

Head canon for Ros: Up until where the story picks up she thought that she was killing it as a mom, and she was! She's a very good mom! Like I think she did a lot of her like crazy bandit shit before she had a kid and since she has been extremely careful about what kinda jobs she does, like honestly when the story starts she's probably living in a city on like the east coast just because she's less likely to rounded up by a posse and hung there, like she's more of a gangster than an outlaw at the time because it feels like there is more security in that

An aesthetic: Again western but in a modern setting, maybe kind of an academia vibe? Like I'm picturing like high waisted wide leg pants or skirts with like blouses or sweaters, maybe even vest sometimes, very like put together and maybe even professional but in warm tones that bring a like softness to it. Probably has to be Stars Will Light the Way, tbh. Most of my fics are fairly "happy" tbh but so many are oneshots and anthologies, that this seems like the best pick.

I've gotten maybe one "hate" comment, just telling me my pacing was too slow for their liking or something like that lol. But generally, my audience has been very nice!

Uhhhh.... hmmm.... its hard to say. I am very much a multishipper - I'll ship one guy with quite a few other characters if the dynamic could even conceivably work. But I also tend to prefer gen-fic or found family fics too...? But um. Uh. All-time favorite ship is probably Eddie/Venom. I will not elaborate further.

15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Gosh ok it's this Blue Beetle fic, with Jaime from the Young Justice cartoon swapping places with Jaime from the movie. I just... idk how I want to end it so it's been sitting on my laptop, mostly untouched since like. September or October of 2023. Whoops...

Idk lol, um... getting into the heads of the characters I write?? I've been told that I can capture certain characters really well, at least.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Fight scenes can be a little tough for me to write... but also. I procrastinate on writing sometimes, and i'm terrible at planning fics out fully before i start them... so if I don't write scenes and ideas down, they're gone, and then I don't know what to write for my fic, and then the fic never gets finished 🙃

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Eh, depends on the language - I took enough Spanish to be able to pull it off, I think, and I also have a few coworkers who speak Spanish fluently who will make sure I'm doing it right if/when I use it. Other than that, I'm not sure if I trust Google Translate enough to write dialogue in any other language...

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Omg... apparently... it was a crossover between Danny Phantom and Warriors (the books about the cats)... I figured it would be Danny Phantom but that. That is hilarious to me. I really was a Warriors Cats kid....

It's gotta be Stars Will Light the Way. Idk man, it just... it may not be as popular as Golden Gate's Heroes, but it's currently the longest fic I've ever written and published and FINISHED, and im so proud of that. The fact that even 400+ people liked it enough to give it a kudos... I wrote that fic for me, so to know others liked it too means the world to me.

Hello! I’m in a bit of a pickle here and hoping you can help.

I recently moved to a new area and opened up a small business.

An old friend (rival? #it’scomplicated) also lives here across the way and has a similar business. We both sell burgers.

I thought it was a good idea to open a similar kind of shop because all the best business books say you need a competitor to truly achieve greatness and also it would be fun to rekindle those old flames and get a fire going if you know what I mean 😉

Anyway, this guy has a teenager as his main employee, he basically leaves everything to him. He’s a good kid, very hard working and diligent, and I know he and his partner are raising a kid of their own, but tbh (and this isn’t just the competitiveness talking!) I don’t think the place he’s at is a super great fit for him and that he’d be much better off working for me instead. The rival, let’s call him Big, treats the kid, let’s call him T, pretty rough. Nothing abusive or anything! But it’s a lot of responsibility and Big just kind of leaves him alone there with little to no support.

Things came to a head when I saw Big completely overrule T on a simple customer request, and then encouraged T to take advantage of the customer instead of actually helping them. I put my foot down. That kid should never be put in a position like that in the first place, and he definitely shouldn’t be in a situation where he’s being influenced by an authority figure to take part in less than legal, bad faith business practices. I offered T a job at my place on the spot and he seemed interested but said no (he had his reasons, which made sense, so I didn’t push the issue, just reassured him that there would be a place for him if he ever did decide he wanted to leave).

Well, Big threw a HUGE hissy fit about it, told T that he should never work with me because I had a terrible business (Which is totally unfounded! I’ve been doing great and don’t get by on dirty tricks like he does!) and then he called me a bunch of names and told me to clear out basically.

I did flirt with him a little bit (Big not T), but that didn’t seem out of place at the time (we’d had drinks together recently), but that only seemed to make things worse.

Or maybe it didn’t, because then later (when he had cooled down a bit) he invited me out to drinks again. I was elated at first! I thought it was all kiss and make out up and we could put this all behind us. But then it turned out he wasn’t just inviting ME, but his two boyfriends as well, then he called me a fourth wheel …

IDK. I feel miserable. Is this retaliation for the offering the job thing? Am I the Asshole? I just want to make sure T is in a safe and supportive environment where he can earn money for his family and not be left to do things like handle rush hour by himself (which I KNOW Big has done before and probably will again) and be encouraged to take part in other more underhand practices.

ik this is relatively irrelevant but i am really curious on how youre going to write stumpytail! in canon, he was abused by brokenstar during his apprenticeship (of which broken was the mentor) and i always thought he stayed in shadowclan after brokenstar's exile and was loyal to them, dying from the sickness or maybe other thing like that? but that seemed to be retconned in tigerclaw's fury (or maybe it just was always like that n i just didnt notice but. i just rlly Do Not Remember him being mentioned as one tigerstar's or even brokenstar's followers in tpb at all. im even almost sure the Only scene he had in it was actually him taking part on the shadow/wind raid in thunderclan camp when they were keeping brokentail as a prisoner so?? huh???) and then he was sent to cat hell alongside his. actual. murderer. dad, clawface, and the cat who abused him when he was a teenager with no real explation as to why

sorry for sending such a long ask abt a background/filler character !! i just love him so so much n wanted to know how youre going to write him as the erins didnt rlly.. do it very well, to say the least (and not only him but the broken n tiger followers in general tbh, they were a super important part of tpb yet we got very little info on most of them. so if u want to use this ask as an opportunity to talk abt them in general too feel free to lol!)

Ough yes,,, I feel like in a lot of ways the Broken and Tiger followers are kinda like the Dark Forest trainees from later arcs...

Like they are manipulated and traumatized and I feel like a lot of them could be redeemable??

Idk how in depth im gonna get in characterizing the background characters like Stump but, I dont think Im going to send many to the DF , they are just victims of Broken, Tiger and the fucked up society that the Orders have :(

I feel like a lot of them probably just followed these guys because that's what they thought they were supposed to do and also they feared the consequences of rebelling.

Then ofc there would be the cats like Vulturemask (Blackstar) who did some really fucked up things because they were fully bought into Broken and Tiger's bs ... I like Vulture bec he did some terrible things, bit i like the idea that he is plagued with guilt for it...

The whole of Shadow and RIver are made up of traumatized and guilt ridden cats tbh (reason #1 that i am mad they didnt get more pov in arc 2)

Though I do think that River and Shadow have a pretty high amount of conservative, xenophobic cats just from their history of leaning more that way politically. Which is also why they are the most vulnerable to being taken over be evil leaders heh... But thats also why so many cats are just forced to blindly follow these evil dudes, they have no choice, bec the majority already agree with these terrible ideals

wrt the p5 vball au (!!!!!) i'm pretty sure yusuke is canonically Very Bad at the sports (see beach episode, his absolute terrible performance in beach vball) but he is so tall and lanky... so stronk... but i cannot see him being particularly "athletic" and coordinated in that way (part of that is just me projecting my lack of coordination on him lmao.) granted he does have high agility plus the "scoundrel eyes," in royal, but i just don't see him actually... having that sort of hand-eye to hit ball and not whiff. of the kosei boys though... knowing its artsy reputation, i don't know if anyone has that lmao... though also with him being that tall, maybe he gets saddled with middle? but also. 180cm is still, like, libero height for a lot of teams lol

they do make the joke that mako too stronk for the boys a lot (again, see beach episode) but i think she'd probably follow her combat abilities and be really well rounded in both offence and defence. haru is really nimble and bendy, and probably has a great swing (axe) but idk if she has the height/hops for the net. akechi and joker being the setters... makes so much sense oh dear it's almost upsetting. though imagine them on the same team.... akechi would probably also make a great opposite (lefty, good power) as would joker (literally perfect) and we know they're both fairly athletic, which makes me think... 6-2? maybe they hit... and set....? i think you made mishmash a libero which makes a lot of sense?. i hc him as being faster and better than ppl give him credit for, despite him being the lamest canonically. (ilu mishima) and ryuji thinks this vball bullshit is lame af dude

I think people would underestimate Haru at first, but you could definitely give her an edge up on something e.g. one of those scary killer serves. Middle blocker is totally viable for Yusuke too I think!! He's a tall guy, so he could definitely do stuff if he puts the work in. If this was based on canonverse then yeah I could see him whiffing the ball from time to time. I’m sure the hand/body coordination for handling a sword vs doing da sports ball is different lol. My reason for making him ace was so that he could be a temperamental but formidable ace, and place him as one of the key players for Kosei so that the Shujin team could have rivals to go up against ya know? I just think the idea of seeing Yusuke's murder eyes as he blasts a spike through a block is just. (chef's kiss) sublime shit. It would be an honour to die by his hand (also is 180cm really normal libero height?? All my volleyball knowledge is gleaned from HQ so I’m probably missing something lmao)

Also I see your point about making Akechi and Joker on the same team, but considering that it’s these two dudes we’re talking about I feel like we have to double down on their whole rival dynamic, it would be a crime not to imo (and this is coming from someone who hates shu/ake and Akechi lol). The setter mind games they could have with each other is too good — like if you have Akechi be his superficially genial and amiable self while Joker actively goes out of his way to antagonise him just to peel back that fake veneer of charm and throw him off his game??? Delish

😭 Mishima my beloved ... I think I mentioned this already but I really like the idea of him being a libero since it's a near 1:1 parallel to his role in canon (no spike, only support!!!!) I HC that his low-to-zero presence lowkey serves him well on court, in the sense that he's a solid defense player that quietly keeps chugging along and making sure the ball stays up while everyone else focuses on offense. He's a silly little NPC that keeps his head down and stays in his lane ... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Ofc sometimes the opposing team is going to target him to try and break through their defense, but once he gets into his zone it's hard to shake him off his groove imo. If you're telling me Mishima can hyperfixate this hard on his dumb little website then at least some of that focus is going to bleed into his vball game headspace (wow I didn’t go off on a shu/yuu tangent. it’s a miracle, let’s keep it that way)

Tbh I'm down with giving Rhaenyra some battle scenes because imo book!Rhaenyra doesn't have many redemptive qualities. She doesn't fight at all and all the military strategies or decisions are attributed to the men around her (including Jace, her 14/15 year old son), and she ends making terrible decisions on her own (throwing a extravagant party while the coffers were low and heavily taxing the smallfolk). Audiences can end up not caring about the story if everyone is equally unsympathetic, so that's why I've been pretty understandable of show!Rhaenyra's lightened morality.

But I do want more scenes of Aegon doing battle as well! Maybe they could insert him into the sack of Duskendale and the skirmishes that took place before Rook's Rest? So we get some time to see Sunny-Egg battle action before the fight that injuries them both. Maybe they can have Aegon less incapacitated between Rook's Rest and Rhaenyra taking KL and having some say in political decisions instead of bedridden and on painkillers (although that could take away from Aemond's Prince Regent arc, so I could see them not going that route). And going back to Rhaenyra, instead of spending excess money on stuff like parties, you could go the opposite route and have her spending it on increasing militarization and war endeavors, to the point where the smallfolk hate her for her high taxes. I think that her s1 characterization actually lends itself to that idea very well (her picking Criston because of his battle experience, her advocating for the garrison of the Stepstones at the small council). Like idk, it's a way to give her more understandable reasons while still having the same effect (making her unpopular to the point where she's driven out of KL).

I've even been wondering the idea of having Rhaenyra show up at Rook's Rest. Like, it'll probably be super expensive to do four CGI dragons duking it out, and maybe they decide not to deviate too far from canon in that instance, but otherwise it could be our only chance to actually see Aegon and Rhaenyra fighting each other. Plus Rhaenyra being present for Rhaenys's death and not being able to stop it or save her... Idk, could be interesting!

You make some very good suggestions, anon, I do hope the changes we get in the show will be somewhat similar. I agree it would be fun to have more action scenes both with Rhaenyra & Aegon, separately or fighting it out, as well as seeing them more involved in their respective war efforts.

Netlixes Witcher writers being publicly outed to hate the books is good, very good actually. Because nothing matches except some aesthetics (at least for season 2. Season 2 sucks)

This shit makes me so mad, that there is this real thing happening in the netflix behind the scenes where they ruin the story and message in favor of fascist esque opinions or meaninglessness. And then critique of the writers that becomes popular is one by racists because they point our attention to a different unrelated fact and combine it with the "the writers hate the witcher" tidbit that only reveals they themselves don't know Sapkowskis writings or their themes.

But because their audiences read as little or at least as poorly as them and with no curiosity of their own they get away with it.

I also have no respect for the witcher games because tbh they breed exactly that. I don't know whether they actually support any of these views but from what I know witcher 1 is a terrible game and 2 only playable. And that from the books misunderstandings like that never arrived, while those who played the games and then read the books (or never did) believe a ton of bad shit about racism and the elves. Now this could also be a (male) gamer problem just maybe (since the games are heavily made to appeal to male power fantasies, something that is the exact opposite of the books imo) but it seems that if the games has the potential to endorse said gamer problems and opinions then it should've made a better job of not doing that.

My criticism isn't that a nude sexy Geralt is shown in the games, it is that in those moments he has too much agency and power in those situations to force the reflection we got in the books, where he is sexualized all over the place and is pretty unhappy most of the time even tho he enjoys both sex and the general company of women. Meanwhile in the games he can just fuck anyone as if it's mass effect 3 and the relationships are about as shallow and bad as they can be

Like another of my roommates, who has played the games but didn't read the books, complained that he didn't like show Yennefer. Neither do I so I thought this could be a cool starting point for a conversation.

My criticism was that she's a big piece of shit but shown as worthy of our understanding and sympathy, and that the way she acts and the way the framing wants us to feel about her and Tissaia are just complete opposites of each other. Unlike book Yen show Yen is one of the worst people I've ever seen. And the character development and time spend on self reflection is nil but suddenly at the end everything is fine and good again.

Jaskier is different, the Witchers themselves are different, the show ends as a celebration of the masculinity that is criticized in the books.

Yeah his criticism was that Yen isn't at all like in the games to him, that she's a different person he doesn't appreciate. She isn't hot

Not that anyone gives a shit but I feel like posting my opinions on the songs for Unser Lied für Liverpool, so yeah. I'm not a critic, I'm not going to disect anything, nor am I gonna go into some deep analysis of the lyrics, I don't really care all that much. It's just my amateur opinion after listening to the songs for a few times.

TRONG - Dare To Be Different

Funky lil tune. As someone, who doesn't know shit about k-pop, this is what I kinda imagine k-pop to look & sound like. 😂 The song is nothing I would love to listen to but probably also wouldn't click away. Like it's fine, makes me bop my head a little but it's nothing I'd see doing well at ESC. Maybe if the staging is right and he can manage to dance that well and also manage his vocals live? But idk, I'm not sold.

Will Church - Hold On

It's not a bad ballad but it's definitely not for me. I'd click away, if I heard this anywhere tbh. I think Will is a great singer but the song is just boring, it'd just drown in the contest imho.

Lonely Spring - Misfit

As a fellow misfit at heart, I'm definitely not immune to the early 2000's pop punk sound. I actually enjoy that song a lot. 😂 Would it win? Probably not, but it's fun. It gets stuck in your head and by the end of the song, you're just having a good time and sing along. I feel like the emo millenials would really appreciate this song.

Patty Gurdy - Melodies of Hope

I don't hate it but I also don't particularly love it. I like Patty's voice and I really like the folky sound of the instrument but the song itself... it's kinda boring (and sorta outdated) imho. I feel like it could either do really well at ESC or it could be one of those songs, that get hyped beforehand and then flop at the actual contest. I haven't listened to anything else by her but I just know she has better songs!

Lord Of The Lost - Blood & Glitter

This is the song, I could personally see doing best at the ESC out of this selection. Granted I may be biased because I like heavy music but I think they have the best total package of sound and visuals. And since LOTL is an experienced band, I feel like they could give us a great staging! I'm definitely rooting for them in the national final!

Ikke Hüftgold - Lied mit gutem Text

I hate it and I'm still mad this made it into the national final! 😂 Ballermann-Mucke is just something I strongly despise with my whole being! Like nothing against joke songs. I do enjoy them especially at ESC, when they're done well. But this... no thanks, I don't want it! This might work in Mallorca infront of a crowd of drunk Germans, but it won't work at Eurovision. Yeah... thanks, I hate it! 💀

Frida Gold - Alle Frauen in mir sind müde

Meh. Props for the German and women empowerment, I guess... but meh. I'd immediately forget about this song, the second another one comes on.

Anica Russo - Once Upon A Dream

I don't like it. Her voice (maybe it's the style of singing?) is absolutely not for me, it's like nails on a chalkboard to my ears. I just can't vibe with it. 😭

René Miller - Concrete Heart

It's not terrible but it's your generic radio song, that you've already heard somewhere else. I personally think René's voice would've worked better on a heavier tune, it's kinda wasted on a generic Imagine Dragons sounding song like that. 💀

I’ve been on a huge manga kick recently if it wasn’t obvious. I recently read searching for my perfect brother. Genuinely I did not expect it to be so good. I read the fan tl last night and then I reread it today (the official). like authors barely disguised fetish aside, it was really really well made and written. and genuinely I don’t even feel I can judge the incestuous aspects of whatever the hell their relationship turned out to be bc it’s not like it wasn’t even acknowledged how fucked it is like it was literally the last line in the manga (aside from the letter). “What does a perfect family look like? I never knew that to begin with.” Like what a gut punch. Despite just how weird both rize and kairi turned out I felt so bad for them like I’m glad they got away with it.

Tbh really similar vibes to fire punch (incest bc of terrible upbringing), oyasumi punpun and killing stalking (murder and strange toxic relationship. I guess fire punch has this too). although I think rize and kairis relationship didn’t end up thaaat toxic in comparison? Like kairi is, imho, really not that bad of a guy. rize is also not that bad of a person either. neither of them really did much that I would consider crossing some sort of line. but that probably says more about me than them lmao. it’s not that I don’t think murder is morally wrong, but killing a rapist POS does not really matter to me in the slightest. Because why not get rid of a guy like him? What does he even do that’s good? Like could Masaki be “redeemed” even though he shows no remorse and has damaged so many lives? if he did show remorse then would it even matter? that might even be how he thought like “I’m so deep in acting like a POS there’s no way I could become a happy member of society that contributes to collective good” not that I would know but if I were him that’s how I’d think. I mean even before he died he seemed like he was just fucked for good no matter what. Idk maybe if they put him in the clockwork orange he’d have a chance

It’s funny though like I’m saying I can’t judge the incest kink aspect bc I get how they got to that point but I can judge masaki for being scum even though I also get how he got to that point? I guess another thing is

1. the incest shit isn’t really hurting anyone (other than maybe themselves like mentally) bc it’s not like they’re actually related whereas masaki hurt so many ppl. Well idk it might hurt their future kids. Mentally.

2. It kinda felt like masaki was making excuses for himself acting like shit whereas rize and kairi just accept that they are strange but if it gets them to be happy and live “righteous” lives then it’s a net positive?

3. I would consider myself against the death penalty or punitive measures in general but I’m totally brushing off kairi murdering him. But overall what reason do I have to say hey that guy shouldn’t have been killed? I guess since my own values kind of inform my response then someone else having different values would also be able to brush off a different crime bc what makes my opinion more important than theirs?

idk. Anyway it was really well done fun to think about and the tension was sustained really well thru the entire thing. It’s great that it was so succinct too
