Fuck ok, gather 'round it's time for another fic idea spinning off of a crumb from my last post ab time traveling team Ro into founders era:

Summary:

Fact 1; Kakashi is now 3 weeks the last living Hatake.

Fact 2; Tobirama Senju, according to dusty old scrolls Kakashi finds in his father's study, was apparently half Hatake himself.

Lonley and hurting, Kakashi grabs on to this fact with both hands and squeezes it so tight to his aching heart that his hands bleed.

Or, still processing his father's suicide, Konoha's favorite baby genius finds out he's distantly related to history's favorite baby genius and immediatly starts projecting to cope.

Digging through old journals, history books, Kakashi begins to try his own hand at the man's favorite past time; creating jutsu's. It's the both the hardest thing he's ever done and the most satisfying to date.

Ft.

1) Weirdly chill scene with Danzo (fuck that guy but hear me out) where he kinda looks at Kakashi and sees the hint of the shadow of the man who taught him. Not quite there yet, not fully, but crumbs of it. Enough to make him nostalgic, and enough to hand over an old journal that used to belong to Tobirama.

A calculated risk, he tells himself.

An unspoken challenge, both Danzo and Kakashi understand.

He wants to see how far Kakashi can go, finds himself almost eager to see how close he can come to the shadow of the man he seems so determined to chase.

(and if this side project temporarily distracts him for long enough that Orochimaru slips through his fingers, well, it's not like he knows it was this event specifically that caused that plan to fall through)

2) The fact that, both due to time and the Hatake clan's less than stellar reputation during the warring states era, Tobirama's Hatake ancestry got buried. Kakashi finding him on a dusty old family tree has ✨️political implications✨️ for Kakashi specifically. Ones he isn't all too interested in — unless it means he might be able to access things he otherwise wouldn't've.

Also just general fun surprised Pikachu faces from some people as an added bonus.

3) Kakashi becoming even more terrifying than he rightfully should be at that age !! Danzo pretty much handed him a missile and went "lmao good luck" with that journal! He should not have that! He's learning things! He is experimenting! Someone take the missile away from the baby before he learns how to make his own— oh fuck it's too late hes somehow made a nuke instead

4) Orochimaru poking Kakashi with a stick and vice versa. They are making baby genius <--> baby genius eye contact it's mildly concerning, Minato is concerned. Obito is jealous, he wishes the Snake Sannin would poke HIM with a stick

5) Kakashi bites someone. That's it that's the bullet point I just think he should get to bite someone is all.

And more !!! Im ngl I think I like Tobirama just existing in the fic as as an ever present shadow, super influential in just every single chapter but never actually present. But I won't lie if I'm giggling over the thought of Kakashi finding Edo Tensei and going ".... ok but what better way to figure out this new jutsu / seal than to ask the source directly."

There's just absolutely no color I kinda wish they incorporated maybe more purple or something in her. Carmilla also got some BIG ass hands. Idk her design just kinda throws me off. It reminds me of something abstract.

#17 Vox | I really like his coat and just the overall palette of that electric blue situation but his shirt low-key is giving me Freddy Krueger tease lol. As well as Pyrocynical and that dude from the show "Villainous". I hope in Season 2 Vox serves us more looks and variety. He's not bad, he just obviously doesn't compare to others.

#16 Katie Killjoy | She got only like one outfit but man does it EAT. A bit cliche for a reporter but it's just still too cunty to turn down. The pearls, the cut, the makeup, fucking slay I guess. Miss Bryce Tankthrust still serving in hell is a MUST. 📣

#15 Lute | Ngl I was just shocked how pretty Lute was. That fucking face card and you hide it under a MASK?!?! Her eyelashes/eyes and that bob is just chef's *kiss* honestly and I actually really do think the angel uniforms are pretty hot as well. You just can't go wrong with a thigh high BOOT. Girls really get it done. 💯 (Keep the mask OFF!!!)

#14 Mimzy | I hate Mimzy with a passion but I can't deny flapper dresses are beautiful. Mimzy you absolutely devoured and the body is bodying Cheers, you're timeless lol. 🥂

#13 Husk | Please don't hate me guys. I love Husk and all, but ever since Alastor stole his soul he also stole his swag. Man's hasn't worn a fucking shirt since that day lmao. 🤣🤣 Like where DID his suit go??? I would be depressed and wasted too if I was him. I don't hate his design or outfit, I just think it's a bit too simple compared to the other main characters. His personality and Keith David 100% make up for it tho. ♠️

#12 Rosie | Just like Mimzy but like, tripled lmao. Just timeless beauty that never dies. Mary Poppins WHO???? My favorite is honestly probably her hat, that thing is like the crown jewel. Color palette is also kinda satisfying, I stan the pink and mauve. 🌷

#11 Emily | She's like a breath of fresh air from all the red and pink tones. The baby and periwinkle blue is so beautiful and so are her features. Them big ass eyes, the freckles, & whimsical hair. I liked her dress too. Big W's for Em. 💙

#10 Niffty | Cutieeeee. I really like her redesign compared to the old one. 1950's style of fashion is also still very appealing to me as well. The pink dress she was wearing was so fucking adorable I almost had a stroke just to see it in person. She's also weirdly gorgeous covered in angel blood. 💄

#9 Charlie Morningstar | Ngl...a lil disappointed in our girl. As the main character....to have so many just similar looking outfits with not much variety is kinda the most unsatisfying thing ever. It often feels like her fanart and photos that we rarely ever see contain better outfits than the ones that repeatedly appear in the show. However there's nothing really wrong with her final design I just sometimes really miss the old one from the pilot. I think her rounder features and the lighter pink suited her better. Final battle outfit was her best look so far tho in my opinion. 💋

#8 Sir Pentious | Sir Pentious style sorta never changed, he's still rocking that snake do-rag and that suit top that's striped just like everybody else's. 😮‍💨 I really wish they would've made Pentious' suit a floral pattern. I know stripes might have been popular in the 1800s but floral was very popular too and it'd be something different that'd still completely match his Era. I love his steam punk style and his other creative looks but his HEAVEN outfit was just the best. Saint Pentious > Sinner Pentious!! 🤍

#7 Velvette | Thank LUCI they changed and upgraded this girl bro. She was lowkey a hot fucking mess in my opinion before. Man did she come out SWINGING. Not just with looks but also personality I was floored. She's literally the Queen of hairdos and assembling, not many people can pull off that many patterns. Unique and trendy with the energy to back it up. Velvette you'll always be famous!! ❤

#6 Lucifer Morningstar | 6.6.6!!! Very few outfits but I never seen a moment where this man did not serve!! He's always got that fire ass coat on and he gives you the hatsssss. They're stylish while also telling you exactly who he is. It's like regal as fuck while also kinda simple. You don't have to think too much while ogling to just know that he's a dapper ass cHaD. ❤️‍🔥🍎

#5 Cherri Bomb | Loved all of Cherri's outfits. She fucking devoured and blown away over half the competition. She is Kesha vibes. Mama is Avril Lavigne vibesss. She just gives it to you with her punk rock, y2k, fashion. (I know she's supposed to 80s Era but still lol..) Always loved her base look but the final battle outfit and the one from the addict music video were amazing. 🍒

#4 Vaggie | Vaggie the fucking queen you areeee. Talk about versatility. She can really pull off a lot. I noticed that she experiments with her hair a lot like Velvette and I LOVE THAT. The fucking bob?!? High ponytail?!?! Great bangs and great length?!?! Vaggie teach me your wayssss. I always liked her bow and a lot of her outfits. Most of them are sexy without trying too hard. I don't think I can even pick a favorite but I'd probably go with final battle outfit and also her angel gown because that is just too cute lol. 💅🏼

#3 Alastor | As soon as Alastor popped up on scene he was fucking slaying. Literally definition of "pink is cute but red is sexy". He got those sharp ass acrylics ON and his coat is fabulousy spooky lmfao. He also went from being bed bug red to....even more red and sharper (because that was some how possible) lol. Red and black is always an amazing combo and his deer-like appearance is kinda appealing even tho it's a demon lol. I'd venture to even say he's probably the most fashionable Overlord. He's just eye catching and has that AURA. Maybe it's because he's an ancient relic with very peculiar cLaSs but it's really working for him. Keep going you psycho I will see you in hell lmao. (Johnny Depp's Willy Wonka called ���💀)

#2 Angel Dust | FUCKING KING SHIT. He just serves every time without fail. He has a whole wardrobe and they all fucking bang. The clothes are sexy, the makeup is sexy, the AURA is sexy. AND IT SHOULDN'T BE TRIFLED WITH!!! It's really sad because he spends so much time to "get pretty" for pieces of shit, but it doesn't take away Angel's talent to pull of so many gorgeous and hot things. Angel will always be a standout icon and I bet Heaven will look SO good on him. 💗

Fyodor’s Ability: Body Possession and The Possessed

Note: If you don’t want to read the looong premise just jump to the paragraph where I started with “the core idea,” I have it bolded and underlined.

Hi bsd fandom how are you…I don’t think anyone would remember me but I used to be one of the craziest fyolai enjoyers on this site. My irl life has honestly been a mess for the past years (and it still is ngl), but recently I went back to reading bsd and I’m so satisfied with Fyodor’s ability, I have to write something about it.

I’m not THAT obsessed with fyolai now; my current and perhaps forever obsession is the ship of Stavrogin x Pyotr (stavrovensky) from Dostoevsky’s novel, The Possessed (I have never been the same after this ship...I’ll elaborate on how incredible and messed up it is if anyone is curious about that), and with my tradition of studying fyolai alongside stavrovensky, even back when I was still mostly a bsd fan and understood very little about the latter, I was REALLY happy with how Fyodor’s ability has turned out, with all the implications of Possession.  

Let’s first establish that Asagiri totally has knowledge of The Possessed. He not only quoted it but also kinda borrowed the whole “group of five spreading evil and destroying the world” idea from it, and perhaps even modeled some scenes after the book’s 2014 TV adaptation. Goncharov, who pours tea for Fyodor and wants to feel “all is well,” can be seen as a parody of Kirillov and his speech in The Possessed, a character that happens to be an architect (remember Goncharov’s ability?).

Kirillov is also discussed in length by Camus — having adapted the book into a play — who wrote The Stranger and created Meursault. BSD became explicitly a metafiction after Gogol’s appearance, and The Possessed is a chronicle of events provided by an unreliable narrator, who seems weirdly omniscent, and the story also quickly tumbles into turmoil after certain characters’ sudden appearance. One scholar argues that the narrator is only making up a story and trying to make what happens seem logical, while it really is not. Gogol’s pretending to be a government official/one of the police, gunning Atsushi in a tunnel, and making the Agency take his blame for terrorism also echoes strongly the events in The Possessed. I won’t spoil you further though. 

The core idea of Dostoevsky’s The Possessed, or in some translations The Devils, or Demons, is that people who cannot think for themselves are often easily possessed by ideas planted into their heads — then driven to madness and self-destruction by what they think they have thought up themselves. Hell if that doesn’t sound familiar; that’s all Fyodor’s been doing to others, and it’s what he basically said in Chapter 42. 

("being led by the nose" also appears in the book, it's one of it's crackiest jokes, but i'm not sure if it's just a matter of translation in bsd.)

Asagiri said he got the idea of Crime and Punishment being doubles from Ivan Karamazov, who truly is just a less stable/powerful version of Stavrogin in terms of intellect, the incarnation of the Devil — of Lucifer, in some Dostoevsky scholars’ words — the mysterious, beautiful protagonist of The Possessed shrouded by too many secrets, none of which gives a clue about his true character and purpose. (irl Dostoy said he “tore him [Stavrogin] out of my heart”; you can say he’s the author's special blorbo LOL). 

His name literally means “cross (stav)” + “horn (rog)”, showing the heaven-hell conflict within his character. Stavrogin sometimes sees a demon double of himself, too; like BSD Fyodor, he made peace with it (the paragraphs describing this is cut from some versions of the book). 

And like Fyodor, Stavrogin represents something “more evil than evil”: the void; but a void that could mess up people’s minds by “understanding” them, giving them answers for what they should be after, thus tricking them into abandoning their lives for this one pursuit, one impossible ideal. He used these ideas which he himself didn’t believe in to possess people, in every meaning of that word, and this possession comes with the process of enter into. People are no longer themselves, but — in many Dostoevsky scholars’ opinion — doubles of Stavrogin, shells of themselves that carry the pieces of this one nihilistic demon. 

Characters affected the most by Stavrogin in The Possessed let these toxic ideas enter their heads, because they are trying to get rid of unbelief and skepticism about god — kill their inner demons/defend themselves against Satan’s call. You could say they stepped right into Stavrogin’s twisted experiment just as they were trying to kill the heaven-hell ambivalence within themselves; kill “Stavrogin”. 

Tl;dr When people are trying to kill Fyodor, they are possessed by him and become doubles of him, but not complete replicas; they retain their personality in some way, but only through their own fixations that get integrated into Fyodor, the demon. It’s like black is the mixture of all colors, and chaos is a cacophony of all sounds. When they die, Fyodor exits the body with a darker, heavier, emptier soul, and enters into the next victim, who tried fruitlessly to defeat him. 

(In The Possessed, it is said that people who are possessed by ideas are basically consumed by them; their personal views on life are replaced by unreasonable fixations of the mind, which they devote their hearts wholly into. Nicolas Berdyaev connected this kind of fixation to the search for freedom and to attain godhood in his book Dostoevsky. This is a horrifying observation of the human psyche by irl Dostoy but it also reminds me of how Fyodor has described the singularity.) 

There are other startling similarities between Fyodor and Stavrogin that I didn't mention. Please go read the book, it is in no way a daunting classic - it is supposed to be dark comedy; and if you can't stand old people drama, start from Volume 2, you might just experience the DoA arc all over...

P.P.S, It has been pointed out how fyolai interactions and their mannerisms mirror scenes and characters in The Possessed (2014). these two ships of crazy russian terrorists differ significantly while being similar on the surface (grumpy x sunshine, the religious/philosophical discussion on evil, soulmates, kill your darling etc.) but this is not the point of this post so I’ll leave it for now.

She-Ra and Perfuma are still trying to deal with Scorpia, and She-Ra gets banged into a wall and is just Adora again. She looks confused and unhappy about it.

The kitchen was a mess.

Flour covered the countertops and sprinkled the floor like a white carpet of snow. Measuring bowls, spoons, cups, and jugs were stacked precariously on top of each other where they had been cast aside after a few uses. Chocolate chips were everywhere and in the middle of the chaos sat a very satisfied Nick.

"What are you making?" Charlie smiled at his boyfriend, swiping some weirdly-coloured batter from the edge of a used mixing bowl and tasting it hungrily.

"Char!" Nick playfully elbowed the boy. "I'm not done with that!"

The little thief rolled his eyes, turning and squatting down to look inside the hot oven at whatever sweet treats were being baked.

"I've got pumpkin spice cookies in there right now," Nick listed, "marshmallow brains cooling in the fridge, and I'm in the middle of making chocolate chip swampcakes right now."

"That explains the green then." Charlie took another fingerfull, eyeing it suspiciously before licking it off. "Tasty though."

"No more stealing!"

Charlie laughed evilly, snatching a handful of chocolate chips from the scale and scoffing them.

"I measured those!" Nick grabbed the remaining bowl of them and held it close to his chest. "These sweets are for the cakes!"

"You don't need all of them!" Charlie teased, trying to swiftly pinch some more as Nick dodged his attempts.

"Stop ihit Char!" Nick tried to groan, but it came out as more of a chuckle.

"Make me, baker's man!"

"Right!" Nick practically threw down his chocolate chips and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend.

Charlie broke out of his grasp, knowing exactly what was coming, and ran through the hallway towards the living room. A baking-ingredients-covered Nick was hot on his heels, until Charlie took a sharp turn next to the couch.

What happened next was purely thanks to Nick's rugby skills. He let one hand shoot out across Charlie's waistline and half-spun him to the floor. With Charlie in a weird stretched-out fetal position Nick was in the perfect spot to dig into his hips and make the boy squeal.

"NIHIHIHICK!" Charlie writhed under the weight of his boyfriend, one hand pushing one attacking limb away while the other tried to push him up off the floor to run once again.

"I've got to complete my final treat Char!" Nick grinned. "A recipe for sweet giggles!"

"NOHOHOHOHO!" The poor lad laughed, curling up as best he could to protect the most vulnerable (and sensitive areas).

Do you have any HCs about Proton or Petrel? Weirdly, I have brainworms abt them today, akin to hurt/comfort shipping, but idk if I consider their relationship platonic or what. I definitely think of them as close. Proton is an evil little freak who’s gone through the wringer, and Petrel is so laid back + morally grey that he literally doesn’t care what an evil little freak Proton is. (Other people read it as Petrel being THAT dumb and unaware…but that ain’t it, he’s just consciously giving Proton a pass because Whatever)

I’ve been playing around with this HC that Proton lowkey hates Giovanni because he more or less wants to BE him (power-wise - like he’s just got so much rage in there, and subconsciously, he has decided that having MEGA-CONTROL will fix it), but it’s starting to..become apparent + difficult to suppress. Like he’s toeing the line of like bEEFING with Giovanni which is obviously incredibly stupid…but Proton may be incredibly stupid…like that is not going to work out well for him, but he’s such a spiteful dude that he can barely help himself

I like to think that if you squint, all Executives are at the very least platonic towards each other. They've been through some proper shit together and there is definitely some bonding stemming from that. Brothers in arms, so to speak. But you know. More mafia/yakuza-ish. They maybe wouldn't die for each other, but kill? Sure.

With Petrel, 100% of my headcanon about him stems from this fic on pokanon kink meme (which, as a side note, nicely matches Pokemas portrayal as well. I like his consistency). Well, ok, 80%. I have some more thoughts about him that stem from nowhere.

First thing is that I see him as oldest out of the bunch. Maybe not as old as Giovanni (maybe) but old enough to possibly even remember Madame Boss. I like to think him getting as far in the ladder as he did stems from survival instincts and capabilities but also that he just was in TR for quite a while, and his slow climb just happened over time. And yeah, he is very morally grey, he can be nice but it would be dangerous to assume he is nice.

And Proton is... yeah. Youngest of the bunch and I saw him once described as a both a rabid dog to sic at target and most spoiled little cat which both match him, I think. He does feel a bit spoiled, but I think it is tied with the fact that he can be quite violent (I also have a Formative Kink Meme Fic for that, but this one I will not link. It's Proton/Silver and ngl, it was one of the most uncomfortable things I have ever read for sheer amount of triggers. Formative but MAN was it uncomfortable. Feel free to ask me but. Uh. Yeah.) and TR serves him to satisfy that. In some other fic, don't remember which one now, I saw someone theorize that possibly Proton's loyalty sides more with Archer, since Archer know how to use him well, as well as after when Giovanni was gone.

By the way, what do you mean by "gone through wringer"? I know what it means but I am unsure what you mean by that.

Proton, in pokemas at least, claims that he admired Giovanni due to him being "ruthlessly decisive". But at the same time Proton is made a bit more into a joke which... I can see why they would do it, it's easier to make him funny than make him serious in that particular franchise, and I politely ignore that bit while nodding in understanding. Though OK, bootlegs is vile shit. But back to main point - I can see where you come from and I think following that line of thought that what would make Proton envious of Giovanni is his, in a sense, freedom.

Giovanni has plenty of responsibilities that, I would imagine, Proton wouldn't ever wish to shoulder (I like to think his executive task first things first is to be a scarecrow to keep grunts in check...) but at the same time Proton could burn for the way Gio has enough power to handle it all and control and decide freely what to use, even with Proton, and do so effectively. And Proton could probably wish to have that, freedom to do as he wished, to decide what to do. He is young (I wouldn't say he is older than in his early 20s), so he wants all the power without responsibilities coming from it (gah, sudden spiderman!). I could imagine that when Giovanni leaves, Proton is hit with injustice of it. Giovanni can just leave. Can just go, drop everything that Proton thought he desires and vanish into thin air. And Proton is tied to TR because this is his protection and this is where he can do what he wishes to do (as in, violence) and be protected for that from police and such. He wished for that. He can't ever have that.

Everybody being aware of Protons issues could be amusing, and Petrel being the one to keep him in line is a nice thought. Petrel seen it all, knows how TR works better than most, Proton being a bitch is honestly not the worst he's seen but he is aware what the result can be, maybe saw such a few times. And he likes Proton, he's a skilled kid, would be a shame to have him disappeared if Giovanni's amusement over his antics turn into anger (And that would probably fall to Archer and Petrel knows Archer likes Proton as well but Archer's loyalty overrules literally everything else and wouldn't even blink if Giovanni decided enough is enough). (Also, now I ponder on Giovanni personally manhandling Proton when he gets a bit irked a bit and whoa oh erm whoa)

Thank fuck Proton is as reliable as he is, dangle a task in front of his nose and he'd follow, a rabid dog eager to sink his fangs into something. Petrel though knows how to handle the leash so Proton won't bite the hand that feeds him.

because as far as i remember, not once did we EVER get that on Arrow, not ONCE from Oliver.

but rather from Earth 2’s Adrian Chase, and he weirdly delivered it very well. he and Laurel had a nice chemistry and she had more of the Black Canary attitude than Earth 1 Laurel.

i get that Felicity added a lot to Team Arrow, especially in the early seasons but then it just became full-on Olicity, which kind of took away from the Ollie-Laurel romance of the comics. im ngl Oliver and Laurel didn’t have that great chemistry, idk what it is, i just never got them. i think if there was a tweak to their personalities, if they got to be a bit more playful, it would’ve been better.

hi hii it's me again. i woke up and the notif for the new chapter was the first thing i saw in the morning and it totally made my day hehe. as always you blew my mind with this chapter too i loved it 😭 (warning: longggg ask ahead)

i noticed that in many chapters, we get these small glimpses of how mr. x was as a person or rather...as the "leader" and it's really intriguing to me because while he isn't exactly painted as a noble person but as the oc mentions, there isn't anything "noble" about their line of work anyway but he seems like someone i could respect for how he had maintained that power and fear over everyone if i was in oc's place. he seems like the kind of person who would carry that powerful, dangerous and yet charismatic aura with him everywhere he went. you know the kind of people who aren't "good" or rather do many "bad" or "questionable" things and yet, do it in such a charismatic way that you can't help but weirdly kind of admire that trait of them being able to be so charismatic that it leaves an impression on everyone even if you don't agree with the things they do. i honestly think he seems like a very interesting character even if he doesn't exist anymore. you write the descriptions of him so well that i can easily imagine how menacing he would be if he was still alive in the story haha

as always, love her interactions with hector. their gentle dynamic and her trust in him and the way he cares for her, it all makes me feel oddly comforting. it's very calming and i stand by hector being best character 😤

oc's growing feelings for jungkook are so interesting to read too, it's adorable. i love how her shifting dynamic with him is making her think and do things which she usually wouldn't. her waiting at the office for any news on him, her not wanting him to meet anna, her not being able to maintain her poker face facade when it comes to him, going with him through town just because she doesn't want to stay at the office thinking the worse which lowkey translates to the fact that she'd rather be in a dangerous with him than let him go alone and stay behind safe alone. it's so different than her "survival" mindset but i'm loving that development for her.

i'm also looking forward to knowing what anna's planning to do with her wanting to help him. is she being paid for doing something to jungkook and his organisation in the future? or has she collaborated with someone for it? i have so many questions on that. (but it was so satisfying to see jungkook be so blunt and unbothered when she was clearly trying to get his attention lmao)

oh and that scene where the oc and jungkook were bickering about how the other needs to add more security personnel with each other was really cute, had me squealing (they're a married couple your honour)

you have me in a chokehold anticipating what jungkook's gonna say just for it to get interrupted pls 😭 it happened twice this chapter. i really want him to complete whatever he's saying to her i wanna KNOW what he thinks i'm on my knees to know more of his inner monologue

the attack had me worried ngl because i was worrying if one of them is gonna be seriously hurt but i was relieved to see they were okay in the end. that said, her being focused on his proximity and his scent even in that dangerous situation was so ooc, i loved it. that's the best kind of ooc scene because it shows her development i love it. jungkook's panic over her being possibly hurt at the end was endearing too. i was like "awww they're gonna be in L word soon" lmaoooo and it was so satisfying to see oc for the first time not fight her developing feelings(?) about kook at all in the end but rather be kinda comfortable or accepting with it.

honestly this chapter had such a good pacing but then, literally all iicngyp chapters do so yeah you're just amazing honestly. i'm LOVING the slow burn and the sexual tension pls it's so deliciously frustrating haha you never miss. eagerly waiting for the next update whenever you decide to do! 💗

So, Mr. X was someone who was just incredibly -efficient-, is I think the biggest thing. I mean, he ruled the Organization for -decades- and people thought he’d be in place forever. As OC points out, he’d made it so no one would even dare to think they could replace him (until Jungkook, that is). She still abides by a lot of the rules he set in place because she realizes that these allowed the highest reward with the lowest risk. Jungkook’s attitude is more high rewards-high risks, which she has trouble with after years of taking the safest option even if it was a horrible thing to do. So yeah, there was definitely a lot to him! (and if I have a chance to talk about how -he- got to rule the Organization it might come up in the story 👀)

I feel that without Hector, if OC had been truly alone, some aspects of the story would have just been a little too much. It’s good that she has this one person in her corner 😭

OC is definitely changing and it’s one of my favorite things to show really, the slow evolution of her character as she grows into a different version of herself. Hopefully a better version of herself too, one that isn’t so weighed down by all her responsibilities and the need to keep a mask up the whole time, but I’ll let you be the judge of that ahah.

I’m sorryyyy, I swear they’ll talk some more eventually but there’s just a lot going on at the moment. The chapter after the next one will be an Interlude from Jungkook’s perspective though, so that’s coming 👀

I’m glad you didn’t find too weird that OC was focused on Jungkook in a dangerous situation, the whole time I was wondering if it would be too much considering the fact that they’re in a life or death situation lol. It feels like a moment when you’d scream at her to get a grip, but also she’s already screaming that at herself and is very annoyed with her own mind soooo… hopefully it cancels out? But yeah, she’s definitely slowly moving towards the point where denial just isn’t an option anymore.

I finally saw Nope (Jordan Peele's new-ish horror movie) and uhhh it's been stuck in my head ever since, so I'm gonna talk about it. It's not *quite* on my All Time Favorite Horror List (a thing that barely even exists in my head, let alone in printed form) but it's up there for sure. And do you want to know what really did it for me? It was the fucking RESTRAINT they used - not only in showing the Threat, but in picking apart its exact workings. I would say they slipped up a little bit here in the finale, as the protagonists do actually figure out a lot, but im giving it a pass. Because this movie is a horror, for sure, but it's also a story about black people overcoming that horror and standing victorious at the end, and the meta sense of catharsis that comes from that. I actually.. don't remember exactly how Us ended - a lot of that film kinda flew over my head bc im bad at media analysis stuff uhhh what is it, film theory? Yah i didnt.. take that. And my brain is like 'fun movie scary monster weeeee' for the most part. But i did manage to gather that between Get Out and Nope, Jordan Peele is sick of black characters dying, so hes 'fixing' the endings to be happy. And i think thats really fucking cool and also really fucking important. So yeah tldr it's okay they did the thing I usually don't like, and they still used more restraint than other movies, who don't even have a reason for it other than.. idk. Pissing me off

Oh right the other restraint they used, which I've seen talked about before, is in showing too much onscreen. Yknow like.. the horror movies that are scary as shit until the monster is revealed to be some cgi.. stupid fucking whatever... and a switch flips in your brain taking you from scared to annoyed. Yah they managed to not show parts they knew wouldn't work, then REALLY show parts they knew they could get right. Like the ending???? That was so fucking cool looking, like I cannot with that design, I fuck with it heavily and kinda want to draw it but. It also looks hard to draw lol

Okay well there was one specific scene especially, but it's a big plot spoil so I'm not gonna say it. But my favorite scene in the whole movie is one that's apparently quite divisive- some ppl hate it and say it looks like a fuckin car wash lmfao (and I'm being as spoiler-free as possible but that should give away the scene to ppl who've seen it) - but it's demonstrating that perfect balance of showing JUST enough to let your imagination fill in the rest. And I thought they did a damn good job with what was shown- between the fuckin hair raising screams and cries of the ppl in there, to the chaotic camerawork, like you're in there too and you're only getting glimpses, to the revelation itself, the massive OH SHIT of a plot reveal that's hitting so much harder than a detached 'we've figured it out' scene bc it's putting you IN it* and showing you the sheer, uncaring violence of it, and now you're finally understanding why the thing with the chimp (also???? Fucking horrifying???? But ngl it was also weirdly satisfying to see it fictionally portrayed??? bc yes, a chimp will fuck you up, just leave them be and shit like this won't happen ffs) exists in a movie about horse ranchers trying to film a UFO

okay I finished leviathan! really wonderful satisfying finales for all involved. such an absolute delight with wonderful characters. marcid and myrtle had such a fun sexy little thing going on so subtley I didn't even mind, and jack and gardy's thing at the end just had me giggling so much. I think I've said this already but I just love that aabria made a character named MYRTLE THE BITCH and painted her face like that for the show. like what an absolutely fun character. and marcid returning to the kenkus at the end...I hope those coins were actually enough for them to like, buy a new house 😭 but he's fun too and he hides his soft heart. I like that he's the papers guy as well as the sneaky murders guy. and jack's whole situation took such a 180 ☺️, and what a great final shot he had! BAM. gardy talking abt how hot and strong and all he was killed me but then also I don't think he has any experience...like gardy I think it's all gonna be you <3

cheese really endeared himself to me...god what a sweetie. and his convo with the autistic...librarian demon (?) at the end was really neat tho idk who she actually was or how she was summoned ngl. that's fine I can look her up later. and its so nice that cheese will only have his brother after he saves him, and not have to worry about his horrible parents. brennan is great like that.

and BOB!!! I still can't believe krystina wrote and performed all those songs!!! and so beautifully!!! and that inflict wounds! so devious! and her parents!!!! together again 🩷🩷🩷

umm sunny's little arc was very sweet and satisfying. she was a fun character and im happy for her and her siblings to break out of her family's strict religious upbringing but there was that insane moment where the actor accidentally started sounding like a maga voter when she was trying to explain why 'the old ways' of piracy should come back...real foot in mouth moment im afraid 😭 also I think brennan tried to set her up for a 'we're NOT all the same!' line but she didn't take the opportunity she was just like nope we're still all the same! so one of the nocs had to do it...not that sunny's a bad character or she's a bad player like that bell came in CLUTCH and she was very charming <3

the villains campaign is still my favorite because it was just so funny and weirdly wholesome but Pirates of Leviathan was also REALLY good and looks like it's available on youtube! there's six episodes, at about 2 hours each, and I def reccomneded it if you like dnd shows or pirate media

it's curiously ambiguous whether the creator's world was on the brink of destruction when he enacted his plan or if he was merely reacting to the fact that eventual destruction is inevitable so long as changes can occur.

I think that's partly because to him, any ending is intolerable, no matter how distant, so the two situations are pretty much equivalent in his mind.

Since you're looking stuff up at this point, it's probably worth mentioning that if you do successfully kill her and come out alive in chapter 1, he "rewards" you by... basically stranding you in the cabin forever. It initially seems like he's betrayed you, but he seems... genuinely perplexed if you don't find eternal, static, unchanging existence to be a satisfying reward
