In a Self Insert type scenario, in Star Wars?

They would be MUCH more open to listening to "buddy, a storm's comin'" type warnings. Their Cannon knowledge, even if spotty, would probably echo with the Force and draw its attention to them somewhat. Because they KNOW.

KNOW what is going to happen. Not guess. Not assume. KNOW. Like the Force does. And that? Coupled with their inherent strangeness? Would make them the oddly colored duck of the flock, as it were. Not Super Important... buuuut? Easy to spot.

Since they LISTEN? The Force probably chatters like a mofo. Since a Self Insert would be anxious and constantly ASKING for wisdom. For help. A friend. Guidance of any kind. The Force would be draped around them like a particularly pleased with itself shoulder cat. A hovering backseat driver.

Because you DO keep asking, after all.

It's like muscle memory. Building strength. Not... not GREAT, in all actuality? Because Self Insert is avoiding making their OWN choices, probably out of fear? But on the OTHER hand? Both of them KNOW that there is literally a Sith Master like... less then 5 minutes away from where they live. Constantly.

With THIS, balance is maintained. Not through FORCE. But through walking away for a bit. Allowing OTHERS to decide if this is what THEY want for themselves. Order 66 may or may not still happen? But? At most? All you would kill is the current fighting adults. Not the teachers. Not the elders. And CERTAINLY not the young.

They? Are far away. Where the Force is still clear and the light is strong. Growing up. Reflecting on what went wrong. Farming. Building a new temple with the Clones. You know, the ones who didn't have their comms. Never GOT that dreaded order. Get to live free men on a peaceful planet.

Cause historically? You send your kids AWAY from active wars zones. Places that are priority targets for your enemies. And if the Force itself is saying "move the babies"? Welp! Guess you gotta move um, don't ya? It's scary. Uncertain.

But it is an act of faith.

And I just? Wanna see Sith's plans just COMPLETELY fuckin implode? Because they could not plan for Faith. For Trust and Community and Hope. All the things they believe so trite. So worthless. The very things that would lead grown adults, POWERFUL PEOPLE, to actually? LISTEN to a mere youngling. Then follow their lead.

A/N: this is quite self-insert because ocd has been kicking my ass the last 4 months 😭 especially when what i'd usually be irrational/obsessive over is actually happening, but i don’t have specifics. but yeah, hope you enjoy :p <33 might make a part 2 of this somehow, or other characters

it was known to the people you felt close to that you suffered with anxiety- but to what extent?

yourself and bakugou were at a point of closeness and security within your friendship, to where telling him felt alright.

when bakugou found out you had OCD initially, his first thought was just 'oh, they don’t like mess and are a clean freak', because yknow, stereotypes.

but then you told him what it entailed, he took it in. you talked about your persistent health anxieties and scares, the way they plagued you and tormented you.

"That's fucking dumb, though. Like- you'd know if you were actually sick." He'd say.

"But that's the thing, I don't." You explained. "I don't, regardless of symptoms or not, and that freaks me out. And when I can feel something, the only way I can deal with it is to prod or feel at it."

You explained to him some moments this type of thing happened; in one case, you had odd, painless bumps in random places, and the trigger of its unknown cause sent you spiraling. Petrified it was cancer, you went on an internet deep dive, kept seeking external reassurance, feeling at it 24/7- and rather than this helping, all you felt was fear.

The next was a random pain near your rib. Was it a punctured lung? But then a pain on your head- a tumour?? Then your knees felt different sizes- are your bones shrinking???

He listened, trying to recall times you may have been out of it or panicked for what to him, seemed like for no reason. And it started to click. Realising it extended even further than the health anxieties too. Past traumas, or fears, or habits. It made sense. And it made him feel an ache of sadness for you in his chest. But also pride, for the fact you go through this daily.

In saying that, after you left, he went into full research mode on the types of OCD you had talked about, on how they worked, triggers, compulsions, and how to support you.

He wouldn’t admit it directly, but after hearing how it gets to you, then seeing it in real time, made him feel helpless. Until you got support professionally, he was slightly frantic.

He made a promise to be there for you, any time, if you were having a mini episode, or major. Which he didn’t expect to be..... a lot. But he kept the promise.

1:34am the clock on your phone read. You were tired, sore, stressed. Your hand went to the odd shaping on your back yet again, a nervous shiver going through you. You tried to rationalise. 'It's probably just some muscle. Or some kinda benign growth. Or just my body being weird again.

Or maybe it's a tumour-'

The intrusive thoughts kept scratching inside your brain, urging you to keep poking, shifting, looking for an answer you knew wouldn’t come.

You remembered his words: "If you need me when it happens, fucking come to me. I don’t care when, do it. You shouldn’t be alone with this. And don’t you dare feel bad."

Slipping out of bed, you quietly made your way from your dorm to his, careful to not be disturbing to your classmates.

You go to his dorm, and knocked loud enough.

"Fuck off." You heard from behind the door, the angry voice of Katsuki.

"Katsuki? It’s just me. You don’t have to, but I'm having a hard time with my OCD, and wanted to kno-"

Before you could finish the sentence, the door opened. "Get in." He said softly, looking at you half asleep, yet with concern.

Once in, he closed the door, opened the balcony door to let in a soft breeze, and sat on the bed with you. After a moment, he spoke.

"What's it doing now?"

"My brain won’t stop." You respond, voice tight and exhausted. "I keep finding new bumps, or growths, or whatever the fuck, and even though they don’t hurt or do damage, my brain is still saying cancer. Which is dumb, because I'd know if it was by now-"

"It's not dumb." He interupts. "Ok, yeah, worrying about a worst possibility that you don’t even know whether it's true or not is kinda stupid. But don’t beat yourself up over it. It is scary. Not knowing fucking sucks. But none of this is your fault. Yeah, you'd probably know by now. But you're allowed to just observe it, without making it some kind of evil situation. Give yourself some grace, dimwit. You have every right to be scared. Especially since this matters to you so much. But don’t- don’t let it consume you. You know you're fucking strong. So... know regardless, you can beat whatever is going on. Serious or not."

You looked at him, tears of appreciation, but also overwhelm, pooling in your eyes. He scoffed softly, but not in anger, more so in understanding, and pulled you close, both under the covers, and your face to his chest.

"Just cry it out, idiot. You need to at this point."

So you did. Allowing yourself to feel everything, let everything crash out of you, with him anchoring you. He gently eased and shushed you if you started hyperventilating, the crying turning into a spiral of panic. He whispered soft, encouraging words into the top of your head.

"Its okay. You're gonna be okay, regardless of what happens. This isn’t something you'll do alone. We'll get you the help you need, and I'll be here when you need me to. Things will work out how they're meant to. Just because it's scary doesn’t mean it's impossible."

"I know. I know, i'm just so scared. I hate not knowing. I hate feeling like my mind is working against me, and my body is fucking acting on what I'm scared of-"

"Hey, hey, relax. You’re rambling." He says softly, shifting to wipe your tears. "I know. I hear you. As I said, it's no wonder you're scared. Being afraid of something with mixed signal signs of it sounds like hell. But again, one day at a time. You're asking for help- be proud of that. It's fucking hard to even acknowledge it sometimes. You already took the first step."

"That’s kinda rich from you, considering you bottle everything up." You respond, cracking a slight smile.

He laughed a bit, nodding. "Yeah, I know, I'm emotionally constipated, fuck off with what's obvious. But I mean it. Just because I have trouble doing it, and I ain't the best at comforting, doesn’t mean I won't try and help you. I care about you, fuckwad, even if I don’t say it. I really do."

Once settling down, he got you some water, and turned on his TV for some background noise, of something you both enjoy. You sat, talking, about your compulsions, triggers, fears, trauma, all of it. He listened, gave his input, and got what he needed from you in terms of what you wanted in support from him.

That night, with you against his warm frame, he slept well knowing you were there- regardless of what you had going on, he could be there.

And you slept well knowing he was there- knowing that despite any unknown health factors, legit or not, you'd have him.

From there, you decided to start looking into getting professional help. You went to Aizawa, with Katsuki nearby, to let him know of your situation. You came to an agreement that if you ever weren’t in a fit mental state for training or class, he would give you time to catch up, on the condition you would keep consistent with effort. He then informed the other staff of it, so it would be an all around agreement.

Once that was set, you found a place to go to get the help you needed, or at least a start. You started to gain coping strategies, ways to challenge compulsions or triggers, and more to generally work with until you would get advanced help. As for the physical side of things, appointments were booked, so hopefully that would be a steady process also. He vowed to be there throughout the process of getting any required diagnoses as well.

In the meantime, Katsuki was still there. Through any panic attacks, anxiety episodes, reminding you to do something else when he noticed your compulsions, and occasionally yelling at the rest of Class A if a trigger was mentioned when you were near. Which yes, is extreme, but he meant well.

He helped you identify other compulsions and obsessions outside of the hypochondria, and helped take notes on your physical and mental health for future appointments. He even went to your therapist briefly to ask how to support you, and how to work with you in times you couldn’t carry everything yourself.

No matter how hard it was for either of you to battle against the monsters in your mind, and unknown of your body, he kept his promise. You knew you'd be fine as long as you had him, and everyone else who cared for you, at your side.

If you ever feel alone or unsafe, reaching out to someone who will listen, is the first step. You are more powerful and stronger than you know 🩶

what kind of comments on your fics are your favourite (please be specific 🥺 i know you love all of them but im after Data) and Also what kind of comments do you think are appreciated the most by writers Generally (and dont just say all of them 😭🙏) because i always see writers begging for interaction on their work and really i would like to, but i feel like because theres no real framework or equation for what you should put down it makes it harder for me to just make up a comment and send it, because also at the same time i don't want to just send hearts or a generic throwaway line because it feels like a cop out and also belies the actual deep love and appreciation i have for the writing (which i would Love ! to express but alas, the wiring hinders me) and also it kind of makes me nervous to keep thinking of new things to say to show how much i love something but i also know that if you comment the same thing on every single fic the effect is lost and it would get kinda disappointing or annoying to receive (no matter how many exclamation marks you add), so i end up just saying nothing which isn't what any of us want (and also im Really shy) and i know this is Asking a Lot but deadass could you make like a template or outline or something of a comment that you can send on a fic that would be both original (through customisation) and effective at showing how much i like it 🩷 sorry if this is too long or rude or too much work i hope its understandable also i love your works and blog so much you're so funny and good at saying things

oh my goodness, so I'd like to start this out with like... a gentle reminder that fandom doesn't need to be something stressful and overwhelming. If you're feeling paralyzed by any part of fandom, try and evaluate where that self-imposed pressure is coming from and address it <3 it's not worth it!

I'm so incredibly touched by your urge to show writers what you feel is adequate appreciation for all our hard work!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also appreciate that sometimes the exchange can feel a little uneven for readers (ie, we spend tens of hours writing things, so a comment feels like you need to Match The Energy), but I want to make it crystal clear that writers don't really feel that way. We know that what we do is a labor of love, and we don't expect a novel-length comment in response to every single thing we post.

With all that said, I also entirely understand where this ask comes from. The idea of commenting, and wanting to leave a comment that truly expresses how you feel, is always a little daunting. So I'll try my best to answer within my own experience :)

In my mind, there are three types of comments:

General Appreciation Comments

These are typically brief and don't call out anything specific in the fic. Think of emoji comments, stuff like "LOVED this!! thanks for sharing!", "this was so [hot/sweet/fluffy/painful] omfg", etc.

Authors will N E V E R complain about these!! and you know what, I leave the sometimes too. There's no shame in not wanting to leave some massive comment every single time you read something lol. I've had commenters who I remember by name, just because they leave me little thank yous on every single thing I post, that's how much the consistency and appreciation means to me!

Thematic Comments

These comments vary in length, but stand out because they call out a specific choice (or choices) that the author made in their work, such as a relationship dynamic, characterization, or plot device. This tends to make my heart really warm, because it shows that some of the themes from my writing struck home with someone. Think of comments like "obsessed with the idea of soft dom oscar, the part with [insert scene idea] suits them soooo well" or "as an older sibling, the way that you wrote about charles's feelings towards arthur ripped my heart out".

If you want to use this category of comment as a guide, I'd finish the fic and ask myself: "what was one key part of the fic that I liked the most?"

When I write comments like this, which you could modify as a template, it usually goes something like this:

[overall feeling sentence]: oh my god i LOVED every second of this fic, you're a GENIUS [pick a favorite part of the fic with an example]: The dyanmic between lando and oscar was everything to me, you really took a [common/uncommon] vibe and [turned it into something new/sold me on it instantly]. Like the scene where they were fighting after the race, and oscar was the one who broke first??????? come O N N N N!!!!!!!! [always nice to end with a thanks :)]: thank you so much for sharing this with us!! amazing as always! <333333

Key Line Comments

I think a lot of authors would agree that this is the "holy shit I've made it" sort of comment. That said, I have a hard time leaving them super often because I read fic on my phone and I'm laaaaaaazy. So there's no pressure do this sort of thing.

But these are comments where the reader pulls out a few of their favorite quotes and talks about why they stood out to them. It doesn't need to be a million, and it doesn't need to be a full literary analysis!! They can be things like "[quote] <- THIS MELTED MY BRAIN", "[quote] <- ugh this was such a prime characterization moment, finally getting a peak into Oscar's mind???? insane.", or "[quote] <- the wording here was stunning, actually gasped".

The reason that these sorts of comments stand out so much to authors is because it shows the reader really deeply engaging with the work. It shows care towards specific wording choices rather than just ideas, which are some of the tiny details that writers spend a significant amount of time lamenting over (despite knowing that the average reader probably won't notice the details, just the overarching effect).

Personally speaking, these types of comments have changed the way I view some of my own fics. Sometimes people will point out a line that I didn't think much of, but it was foundational to their relationship to the story. Or sometimes someone will call out a line that I actively disliked when I posted it, and their enthusiasm about it makes me retroactively fond of it. It's like a fun look into my readers' minds, you know??? Seeing how they view my individual words.

When I write comments like this, which you could modify as a template, it usually goes something like this:

Okay first of all, process, as always:

I drew this in one day hahaha....Actually really fun! I haven't finished anything in almost a month, and haven't painted for even longer, so I'm kinda dying at the fact that 18th century George Russell got me motivated 😭 Sometimes when painting, I realize I have free will and can actually just start painting over the lineart, and that's the best moment of every drawing process 🙏

Also I'm very proud of his face!!! I've said before, but art progression is such a weird thing. You'll keep repeating to your self "I'm no good at [insert art thing.]" And then randomly realized you can in fact do it. That's me with drawing real people's faces 😭 I'm just so shocked I got his face pretty good in one try!!!

Okay about the pose and quote. God its so fun to misappropriate quotes for my own evil deeds. Both of these are from this one officer from the Revolution: Banastre Tarleton. Idk, I randomly saw his painting in a history video, and it's stuck in my mind ever since. And then yesterday, bcs I spent a lot of time looking at George, I'm like "hey you know what he kinda reminds me of-" and thus we have this.

I just found that quote about him from some historian to be funny, so I put it as a caption, as I would with Napoleon. This won't be an AU by any means but. I think if George was in the Revolution, he'd be the most stereotypical, evil British villain in American media type guy ever. And Tarleton is kinda that guy tbh, to the point where him and others like Arnold Benedict are the poster boys of evil Revolution guys. He even has a mocking nickname! "Bloody Tarleton/Ban", very "Osama bin Russell," no? 😭

Some notable moments from Tarleton's campaign that I think fit George: Apparently killed a bunch of American soldiers after they surrendered, making sure everyone was dead(😭😭), threatened to burn an American general's house down to make him surrender and then took him hostage, went toe to toe with George Washington himself and Washington even taunted him and Tarleton got a shot in, has a helmet named after him(very slayful.)

it's prolly time i talked abt my theories for luo binghe and airplane having similar personalities

so i have like separate theories about how exactly the multiverse works in svsss canon and what the system is and airplane's specific relationship to god-hood that i should prolly make a post about to explain BUT

before that i wanna talk about the influence between protag and author lol

oki airplane might be a hack author but he isnt the type of author who can only write self insert characters. still, there is something to be said about relating to your protagonist and something else to be said about method acting

like sometimes when you get so fair into someone elses head for writing (or acting) purposes, certain traits just stick. your personality can influence the character your write but also the personality of the character you write can influence your own, it's a kinda funny lil quirk of people. it's a lot to do with cognitive dissonance, our brains don't like inconsistency. so if you spend all freaking day writing about a character who fucking loves pizza, even if you kinda hate pizza, you'll start to feel a certain want for pizza. because you've basically been telling your brain for hours "PIZZA IS THE BEST, WE LOVE PIZZA". you're not gonna change your tastebuds lol, the power of suggestion isnt THAT strong, but it can definitely make you second guess "do i hate pizza....? should i try it just one more time??" and look, if you really hate pizza, you'll still hate pizza. this isn't some "personalities can change dramatically via the power of suggestion" post. BUT if you were maybe just meh on pizza or your hatred was overblown bc of a bad experience, you might find that you didn't hate pizza that much.

so if you spend all day writing like a machiavellian manipulative bastard, if you generally don't have a manipulative bone in your body, you're not gonna become machiavellian overnight. but if maaayybbe you have some machiavellian traits that you normally don't explore bc Society or Morals or Whatever, you might start to lean into those traits more

it's a bit of the same sort of thing that positive self-talk is supposed to do. it tends not to work well if you say something you absolutely cannot believe, but theres something to be said about influencing yourself by saying the same thing over and over and over

and its a bit of the same reason that when you're in a long term relationship with someone, you tend to share a lot of traits with them over time, because you're just kinda together that whole time

so basically i like to think that luo binghe and airplane influenced each other. like a two-way street. i think that airplane related to binghe as a person to some extent, prior to even writing, bc it's easier for a lot of people to model their protags after a personality that they find personally relatable, so there was a bit of a core similarity between them. not a "we're the same person" sort of bullshit, but a more general "we have a lot in common" sort of thing.

and then, after years spent "together", with binghe influenced by airplane's writing and airplane influenced by writing binghe's personality, they developed even more similar traits over time and by the time pidw ended, the two of them had A LOT in common

Hello, welcome!!! Happy to have you here with us😊 I like answering questions, I hope these clarified some things for you! I hope these aren't too lengthy :)

1. F/O means Fictional Other. It is a mirror of the term Significant Other, but fictional. Our Fictional Significant Others. However, even though there are non-romantic F/Os like familial, platonic, etc., they're still referred to as Fictional Others.

2. I think there is a small difference. I have seen a lot use the words interchangeabley, so I could be wrong for what the current definition of a yumeshipper is, but it originated as a term for girls who selfship typically with anime characters. Yume came from the Japanese word yumejoshi, which means "dreaming girl". And they used yume because. Anime, Japanese, yeah! So in my head yumeshipper is specifically people who selfship with anime characters(I don't find it particular to girls or not), BUT like I said, that word could be taking on a new definition now to be all encompassing, I'm not sure.

Yumeshipper is really mostly a term that is used on Twitter, but I have seen it around here.

A selfshipper is someone who inserts themselves into any media, it is not particular to a certain type of media. Selfshippers sometimes do Self Inserts(which is just them, sometimes with a few extra quirks) to ship with a character, but I've also seen a lot of OC x Canon as well! So to me the difference is just that yumeshipping is specific to anime, while selfshipping is all-encompassing of any media, like movies, cartoons, books, live-action things, etc.

3. Yes!!! I know tons of people that are only non-sharing over particular characters. Whatever your reasoning for it might be it don't matter. Some people are non-sharing over some characters and not other ones. It is common for people when they list out their F/Os to also add if they are non-sharing over that character or not.

4. Anon, you are beyond allowed to selfship with as many characters as you'd like. I have seen people with F/O lists that extend into the 50s or 100s, and I do not mean that as an over-exageration! I have also read those lists cause I get curious who they like. But I mean really, if you click on nearly any blog here on Tumblr there are tons of people who have several F/Os. Anyone that tries to call you greedy for it is just being thick. That's like saying you're greedy for collecting pokemon cards. You're not greedy for investing time in something you enjoy, and in selfshipping you aren't even taking anything away from anyone else, so if anyone calls you greedy then they are severely misconstrued and you probably shouldn't hang around them anyway and be glad that they exposed themselves so you know to probably not interact with then.

I won't lie, lately there's been kinda a little upbringing again of some backlash towards non-sharing selfshippers who have multiple F/Os that they are non-sharing over, but don't worry about it. I have met some lovely people that have assured my own doubts that it's fine. Heck, it's funny you ask me this cause I got quite a bucket list of F/Os myself!

At the end of the day this is something you do for yourself, whether it is or for fun or for coping, so if at any point you can always step back from the social media aspect of it, cause this is between you and your fictional characters.

And don't worry too hard about 'rules'. We're all here to have fun. Do whatever you want, just do what feels right in your heart. You'll get the feel of it the more you hang around and explore different blogs and things or meet others, just as with anything else :)

Imma make an observation that literally is just an observation for its own sake, but it's gonna def be borderline toxic and self deprecating. I genuinely only want the observation part about it, and I'm really not being hard on myself or the community here, but if that distinguishment is gonna be hard for you just be warned.

Cool? Cool. Unfocused ramble under the cut.

Now that I've face revealed, I'm kinda curious observing from the sidelines the reactions that people aren't saying. Obvs I'm not a popular enough person to be like "WOAGH SISJDJDJ OMG ITS A FACE REVEAL" but I'm more talking about the general psychology of passing itself now that I show my full face vs when I hid it.

With that tiny scrap of markup covering my nose, chin, and mouth, I had people ENDLESSLY telling me that there's NO WAY I don't pass. OBVIOUSLY whatever I was hiding was the absolute PINNACLE of femininity. My ask box was literally fucking filled with those comments to the point it was obnoxious- "why do you hide your face you're so pretty" or something like it, DMed and anoned to me over. And over. And over again.

I've really only shown my face in "perfect angle" pictures now, and even then it's obvious that I don't pass. Likely, my face looks nothing like what most people imagined. I got this from a lot of people I showed my face to in discord as well- you'd be hard pressed to say that I fully pass now. Best you could do is probably "yeah you look femme but def clocky to the right eye", and I get a lot of "pretty but clocky" type "compliments" from people.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a "woe is me I'll never pass I'm horrific" post. Now this is Tumblr, and the core group of trans people that I love interacting with largely don't care, or even find the clockiness hot. I'm also gaining confidence in the twinkhon vibes myself, while also knowing that I still have a LONG way to go on HRT, and whatever my face looks like now, it'll be way different in the years and months to come. In the end, passing or not, I don't care. And obviously, that's not a binary thing, blah blah, insert all the passing discourse here. That's not what this post is about.

What it IS about is how far the perception of my face drifted from people's actual assessment of it when I face revealed. When I had the clockiest features of my face hidden, there was an intrinsic assumption that they were more femme than they actually were.

I've also gotten slightly less interaction on my selfies in general (aside from the initial face reveal) but that could just be a byproduct of my reduced activity on Tumblr overall from road tripping. I'll have to see what it's like in the future, but I highly suspect that a large number of lower interaction people now view me as less attractive. I'm not saying they're avoiding me in disgust, I'm saying that when their was a gap in their perception, their brains autofilled a more attractive image than actually existed. This doesn't apply to my core group of moots that are high interaction and comment n stuff (love y'all) but the large scores of people who leave simple tags or reblog and like in passing- I think I just got less attractive in people's minds.

What does all of this say? Honestly it's hard to say. This is more observation than anything else. It might be linked to beauty standards, or just a bias of "unga bunga skinny white woman with conventionally attractive body must have conventionally attractive face" which turned out not to be true, or whatever.

Again, just a weird ramble. Bug summary is that people, on average, assumed I passed before I showed my full face, and now, far less do.

Oh yeah, and inb4 "and omg you actually pass though"- this post isn't for you. There's lots of people who see me and think that I don't, including in Tumblr. Passing varies on a person to person basis, and what I'm saying here is that face revealing flicked a switch in many, but not all, people's brains from passing to non-passing.

THINGS TBB NEEDED TO ACTUALLY START OUT

Tumblr can show me all the "the best way to enjoy something is to be nice about it / if you're not enjoying it why are you here" all it wants--I'm gonna be on this train to hell till the day I die and prolly afterwards too. I will carry this until my next several lives, or at least until i incarnate at the person who will fix this wreck.

Let's get annoyingly kriffin constructive!

PROPER CHARACTER INTRODUCTIONS Sorry, no, you don't get to just slap a name and a show of gams, and call it a day.

TCWs constructed itself when introducing CF99 when they debuted. This was, however, a surface level intro. A way to break in the characters on the First Layer of Character Development.

Cos you can't just slap on the "Super Special Awesome Team" at random, or someone's gonna get flamed for putting in their Donut Steels totally original characters.

It was only ever meant to be surface level, because these are brand new characters, with a (kinda new) aesthetics with sparkling personalities, and that further stories later on would've developed them further--that's the point of a surface level introduction. It is intended to get into Layer 2 and 3 at a different time and place, whilst also getting the audience used to the characters introduced, without feeling whiplash or asking questions like "If they're so karking special, how come they weren't in [insert campaign here--prolly Umbara]?"

TBB more or less carries itself on a motion blur intro, slaps on the character names, and tries to call it a day as the plot yanks the Xbox controller away.

ADDENDUM: There are definitely moments where we do see the Second Layer, Backstory and Relationships, and the Third Layer, Dynamics and Reactions, poke through. Wrecker's Doll "Lula" is an example of a 2nd Layer Backstory. The room that CF99 uses is another second layer meets third layer (Relationship with Environment / Home Facet). This however, is merely light touches, as opposed to legit exploration by the story.

ADDENDUM: Echo's new armor is also a nice touch... But he arguably gets the worst of the Rug-Pull. We have an old character, developed on the side over the course of 7 years, suddenly being in a new situation with new possibility, immediately shafted to the side. That doesn't speak well of TBB's respect for its characters, and unfortunately thanks to the 3 seasons we got, that initial disrespect was in fact, Foreshadowing.

A Proper Introduction requires a full reintroduction. This sets up how the series is going to play with its main characters.

Words of the wiser writers are that Characters Put the Story and the result is Plot.

A full reintroduction means, not just names and aesthetics, but also abilities, character scenes to spark development (Type 2 Development - The Audience learns more about the Characters).

Which would immediately spark the Third Layer into action. A self-starring series should, by all accounts, allow the characters to maneuver, breaths, and show off their various aspects--who are they at home, who are they in the field, who are they with people they like, don't like, eccetra.

Yes, a reintroduction means going over old ground that TCWs somewhat covered, but in more detail. No, you don't get to complain about it--complaining about it is half why these Executives got it in their heads about cutting out significant character development for "Time".

That means we see Wrecker as both muscle man, explosives expert, and general fun guy who wears his emotions on his sleeve.

Tech as the technological expert, crazy racing pilot, and over all, an actionized Star Wars version of the Half Life 1 Scientist.

Crosshair is a mean sunnvabitch with a hidden heart.

And Hunter? A snarky brooding quiet guy who, behind closed doors, is just one of the guys.

( Look, Hunter is a bit difficult for me to describe, because TBB Hunter and TCWs Hunter were two different characters. I can definitely say that TCWs Hunter would've been Disgusted with TBB Hunter. )

But with a series, that allows us to go indepth of what it means to be them.

The first episodes should be dedicated to just, introducing them. How they play off each other, how they react to things, how their abilities work upfront when they're not trying to deal with Captain Rex or General Skywalker. What they're like behind closed doors.

Yes, the first Few Episodes. No slapping an hour of nonsense on first step.

After those first episodes, then, we can kick it up with introducing other stuff. Whether that's simply continuing what TBB had, or starting something new entirely, is up to whoever is writing.

ADDENDUM: I do not empathize with corporate writers. Most of their works are controlled by a executive group and marketing. Worse still, they might not even be qualified to write--TBB happened during both the Writer's Strikes and the rise of GenAI writing, along side the Movie "Wish". I absolutely think someone in that spans, was fucking around. And if / when I find out who, I will lambast your name across the web.

A PROPER FOCUS CHARACTER No random switch bits, and no Donut Steels.

Fanfics can get away with having their OCs as the center focus, because Fanfics are the gods gift to creativity, art and cultural healing.

But if I, or anyone else, is coming into a show with expectations because we were specifically promsied something, something that's been boiling of ryears--and you fuck it up midway through episode 1 because you introduced the Wesley Crusher of Star Wars as the focus?

Oh yeah, congrats! You Fucked Up.

ADDENDUM: I rather like Omega. I don't like her being the Series Focus Character. Give my "kudos" to the Writers, for turning what would've been a lovely side character into a donut steel because you made her the damn focus.

For a Bad Batch Series, and a Sequel to the Clone Wars, the reasonable, the logical, and the most story-healthy choice of a Focus Character...

Is Echo.

He was a tertiary side character of TCWs, being the literal introduction into Clone Culture, and a side story that the camera can cut to when focusing on the main Jedi, and any secondary characters, is just, not enough.

Now, he's gone through hell. He's the veteran of the main land clone wars, where CF99 are vets of the super weird and unusual shit. He's entered a new stage in his life, in a new situation, with a new aesthetic.

He is a character we can latch onto as he's a familiar character from TCWs.

His primary character journey would be not just adapting to himself, but to the way the galaxy is, as well as developing his relationship with his new team, and how that development serves him and others as the story progresses. Additionally, he can serve to ask questions that the audience may ask--as a character who's primary known trait was looking up regulations, asking questions and finding out how things work, is exactly in his character.

What helps him further, as any fanficer and drama watcher will tell you, is that he had loads of trauma and a dead brother to haunt him with--so ANGST PLUS.

ADDENDUM: Focus Character, in this case, isn't necessarily that the character is the sole focus of the story, but merely where the camera would primarily anchor itself. Obviously, in an episodic story line, that Camera may focus on other characters, but the main focus is our hero / our protagonist.

ADDENDUM: Anyone who states that "Its made for kids there for the kid should be the focus!" obviously doesn't watch TVshows. No, hush, you don't. A child will focus on what / whoever is most interesting to them in a show. Barbie isn't a kid--she's an adult lady with 300 jobs. Transformers are a children's show and they don't get kid focuses--in fact, having humans in that show is the biggest complaint. And MLP? Just a cast of young adult characters. Dragon Ball, the anime, had a Kid Focus... and it was an Adult Animation. Same with Fullmetal Alchemist--Teenager, and it was definitely a mature Anime. You don't need a Focus Child Character because you have an idea of your intended audience, and in fact, half the time its not a good idea (There is no telling what Audience you're going to get)--You just need to Get Gud.

PROPER WORLD-BUILD As a sequel clone focus series, this is the best time to really nail down what Clone Culture is like.

TCWs gave us enough of a taste to savor and speculate, now its time ot really nail down those elements and introduce more. Perhaps they do speak Mando'a (My personal HC is that they speak their own dialect of Mando'a that might include bits of other languages, such as demonized Basic, Huttesse, and more--and perhaps, even languages from places older clones were stationed at. Clone Mando'a becomes a kind of "Trooper" Cant. )

They're going to have ideas that don't much us. The babies aren't babies, they're tubies. No such thing as Parent, but Older Brothers, Mentors and Trainers are your go-to. Since its military, that means emphasis on rank and camaraderie.

Since the clone troopers were basically slaves in all but name, this also means that most trooper shave a level of disassociation with self-autonomy and self-boundaries that, up close, would rank as disturbing. They can't justify defending themselves from you doing anything to them if its within "Regulations"... but in exchange, if you do something to their brothers? Oh yeah, they suddenly have all the excuse. ( It would be a sort of culture wide variant of "Its hard to defend Me, but I can Defend Them Just fine." )

This goes double for CF99, who were explicitly excluded from most of that, where Echo wasn't. This would bring another story facet about subcultures. CF99 constantly defends themselves from others, giving much better confidence in their autonomy and boundaries (Though in exchange, lacking the support and comradery from their more "regulation" brothers).

ADDENDUM: It is implied that difference from standard in normal Clone Culture gets you culled--a practice that was only mostly stopped by the Jedi, but not entirely. This would both a reason to fear for CF99 (No clone wants to see their brother "disappear") and a reason for regular clones to resent CF99 (After all, if one clone brother can "vanish" for a minor "deviation", how come The CF99 get to live?)

ADDENDUM: Echo stands at an odd place in any case... as he was a Regular Clone who was deviant from Standard. Not necessarily in that he was made a certain way--but in the sense that his training was fast tracked and his CO was an Asshole who undermined him and his Batchmates--and they survived regardless.

World-Build gives foundational elements, and TCWs provided a very important one.. The Inhibitor chip.

And that means you can't just forget it exists. It has to be given the same importance it started with, the same terror, the same horror, though it may be looked at in a different light.

Just because the story is set after the activation, doesn't stop the chip from being Important. You aren't allowed to Forget It out of Convenience.

ADDENDUM: Its called Respecting the Audience.

PROPER CHARACTER RESPECT

Once you have your characters and your world build, that means you give them the respect do. This is Your World, these are Your Characters, you can bend them, you can shake em up, you can throw them into the ocean, or fire them into space...

But you can't Break Them.

That means you have to keep focus on your Main Characters, they have to push the story along because we, the audience, are following them.

That means no Guest Characters taking the Spotlights. That means actually having Character Conversations that aren't interrupted by the Gunman / Monster / Crisis of the Week.

That means no Killing off a Character.

ADDENDUM: There is nothing that makes Tech's Death Meaningful. There is no argument, there is no evidence, there's nothing but Shock Value. There is Nothing that makes Tech's Death Meaningful. It serves nothing, let alone him. To quote something I saw the other day, about character killing: "I thought this story was His Too". If the Story wasn't the Bad Batch's... What was the Fucking Point.

ADDENDUM: Yes, there are theories about Clone-X... Shame, huh. That's a whole other can o worms I won't go into here. This is already worm-can central, bring the Birds and the Fish.

And no tearing the character out because... reasons that weren't explained.

ADDENDUM: They did Echo so dirty. They sidelined him. Turned him into "Character that Bitches". Removed him from the show several times, by having him abandon the team--for no reason that can be justified. And then had the gall to say "Ops he's actually a badass this entire time!" That's not character writing, that Popularity Speaking. There is nothing in the show that states he was a badass during it, nor anything that states he had a conversation with the team about his decisions, nor any real conversation to begin with.

And random implied character relationships don't work, pal.

ADDENDUM: Hunter and Crosshair have to talk on Screen. If there is a romance between Tech and Phee, you have to show it on screen. Its got to be in Focus, pal.

ADDENDUM: Personally, Phee doesn't need a TV show... She needs a Video Game. I want Star Wars: something something--Maybe Star Wars: Excavation or Star Wars: [Super Awesome Artifact], with her as the Star, in an Indiana Jones / Lara Croft / Thief Golden Edition esque game, where the whole point is to dive into planets, ruins, derelict space stations--running from criminals, other thieves, dark jedi and the Empire, just collecting and selling shit. Hell, can make it like the old Jedi Knight Games. Do you have any idea how Fucking AWESOME THAT WOULD BE? Gods, I'd put Phee right up there next to Kyle Motherfucking Katarn. She is WASTED On TBB, do you understand. She is worth more than to be regulated to a fucking Romance Idea we never even Saw.

If you wanted the character here, you have to respect what you got. Unless you're trying for Clickbait... in which case, you can do that shit for free on Youtube.

PROPER CONCLUSION

I'm gonna give a fun secret--just because the story ends, doesn't mean the world stops spinning. That means you don't have to wrap up everything, you just have to wrap up the current Focuses.

... That doesn't mean, made a bunch of random strings that Might Go Somewhere In the Future.

ADDENDUM: Cody's inclusion in TBB pissed me off. Especially how it was run. No, it wasn't clever. No, he wasn't important. No, he shouldn't have been there. And No, the way it got played really was That Stupid. It was proof that the Writers really didn't give that much of a shit about the world build, and they tried to Circumvent the Tragedy that was the Clone Wars--defeating the themes of the last series (and the Films). Cody should be, straight up, a Tragedy--a once good man turned maniac and stayed Maniac. Its Baked into his very Character. He is the tragedy to Obiwan, the Tragic Contrast to Rex, and the Clone's Clone---that means, He stays the Bad Guy he never Wanted to Be. Unless one can make a really good arguement on paper... Only Fanfiction can fix it. But the Main Writers CAN'T and SHOULDN'T.

Nor does it mean, absolutely End Everything.

ADDENDUM: It wasn't a good Finale.

Both are mistakes. Unless your world is about to end in Nuclear Fire and the tragedy is those missing elements, my word of advice is: Don't.

The Galaxy Far Far away happened a long time ago, but the idea is that it still spins beyond the small story told. That means not everything has to be an Epic, and shouldn't, honestly. Large enough world-build means you can include all the genres, all the possibilities, even the silly ones.

And frankly, I'd rather see someone break all expectations, even mine, because they loved it, not because they were Marketing for Likes.

Like, I don't think he realizes it either. i can definitely imagine while going through the type of identity crisis he is, he wouldn't have the best grasp on the will to exist. I'm starting to see that despite once being seen as cowardly or overly cautious as an individual, he actually is really bad at it when he grows to care about someone, for better or for worse. He's quick to lose his temper, and all self-preservation flies out the window at any given moment. Also, something about his habit of flying off the handle when even the thought of harm coming to his "person" feels... trained... I mean, he could just be lashing out at the uncomfy thought of losing his current favorite person, but eh, the triggers seem too specific.

*Glances back at him getting jumped and immediately trying to brush off how scary it must have been for him. Is aurguably the most chill about what happened and was more shaken by how much Jing cared* The blatant disregard for his well-being in the name of loved ones is lowkey uncomfy, is he okay???

Like, I know this au is about Wukong's healing, and Mac was a bad guy to begin with, but are any of the people that still care noticing the kinda attack dog behavior? Was that there before his death in this au, or is this post lbd trauma?

ALSO, Monkey starts crying during every conversation about how Jing cares and LIKES having him around! The constant need for reassurance. The immediate tears and hopeful disbelief when told that even when he's doing nothing or actively being a pain he's still wanted and useful?! *insert The Rock eyebrow raise image* Little dude REEKS of self hatred and insecurity! If there's one thing I've learned in high-school its that someone doesn't need to be actively aware and/or SH to be passively suicidal.

Macaque is going through it all throughout FloaPS so far, even if he doesn't seem like it on surface level.

Nezha is the one who picks up on it and tells his father because he's seen Wukong do the same thing. In his experience, people who've lost everything they ever cared about and maybe even themselves in the process can and might act in reckless and violent ways to keep what little they have left, if anything.

Nezha gets very worried once he realizes it because, unlike Wukong, Macaque doesn't have any illnesses or ailments holding him down and preventing him from seeking out methods; of what exactly Nezha isn't sure yet. With his shadow teleportation, he's even harder to keep in or out of places.

Macaque wasn't like that prior to dying. He was aggressive, sure, but not in a self sacrificial way. It was more about controlling and commanding those around him, at least the ones he felt like he could control. He used to play his cards very close to his chest. A lot can happen behind closed doors, and even DBK isn't entirely certain how low Macaque stooped.

LBD did massive damage to him. Even his personality is different from how it used to be without very much explanation as to why. Not that very many people remember what he used to be like beforehand.

Li Jing doesn't press the matter immediately, but he does get more worried about Macaque and keeps a closer eye on him.

Hey! I'm Franklin, he/they. First year student at Naranja Academy, but I've been through several Gym Circuts for 7 years at this point. The Treasure Hunt is well underway, and things are looking great! I'm a ghost and fire type specialist, as well as a general Drowzee/Hypno specialist LOL

MY CURRENT TEAM:

Koraidon: a strange form of Cyclizar given to me by my friend Arven, originally owned by his mother Professor Sada. He prefers not to battle, but he will if he needs to. He maily loves acting as a riding mount and food-stealer >:P

Lullay: my service Hypno and first partner Pokemon. We've been a duo for 14 years now! She doesn't primarily battle, she mostly helps with my anxiety and insomnia. She steps up for defense if we need it, though.

Tabasco: my Skeledirge and chosen starter for Naranja Academy! He's a little scrapper and eager to prove himself in a fight, and just as eager to sit back, sing his little songs, and eat all my oranges. Little orange heathen even as he grows up

Sparky: my Luxray! He's a bundle of energy and a reckless battler. He loves nothing more than getting to flaunt his stuff and also wail and cry and flail his fists on the ground when he loses

Sushi: my Curly Tatsugiri, and an odd quiet fellow. He likes splashing water on the other teammates for funny pranks and curling up in my collar or hair. That being said, he is a FIERCE battler. Honestly kinda scary with what he can pull off from such a tiny body...

Arthur: my Beartic! He's very polite with me and the team, but fierce when it comes to defense. It takes a while for him to warm up to new people, but those he warms up to he holds close.

Strawberry Lemonade: my shiny Amped-Up Toxtricity, who i rescued from the wild as a Shadow variant. She's clingy and packs a MEGA punch, and cocky with her skills as a battler. Now that she's come out of her shell, her punk rock personality really shines through.

Montez: my Garchomp, and just what you'd expect from such a feared creature. She's the meanest of the group and always first to volunteer for a fight. She swings hard and fights with pure power. Now that she's calmed, she's the perfect guard 'mon.

Things at Naranja are going great! My friend Nemona has shown me all the ropes, and I feel like I'm gonna have a good few years here. This might just be my Yelling About Things blog. So if you're into that thing feel free to tag along!

Heallo this is the in character blog i have for my self insert!! I follow from my main @yatgb

Be prepared for Main Character And Mary Sue Shenanigans, and dont be afraid to ask abt stuff he mentions in posts!! I plan to have this going as a whole thing with arcs and all that, basically going through all of scarvi's plot, including DLC down the line. This WAS gonna be an art-based askblog but i dont rlly have the time for one of those :( but ill be posting story snippets later down the lind!

Pelipper Mail is on as long as its something small, he wont accept like new pokemon or money or anything. Think like what youd get from a mystery gift :D Magic Anons are off!

Also, dont take everything Franklin says at face-value. He's got a loong history, and some secrets to hide. There's a chance he could be lying about some stuff ',:) expect a well meaning but unreliable narrator

That being said, I like to do my own worldbuilding so whenever he goes into biology details dont look too hard into it. We're havin fun here. I also don't plan on doing any multiverse shenanigans. This is a self contained story about an oc thats very dear to me :D so just go with the flow. I might interact with other blogs as long as its feasible they could on Rotomblr connected through a multiverse.

Other character interaction is encouraged, as well has sentient pokemon except Legendaries! He has his own lore with a lot of legends it would be a little wack

As far as art goes, I'll draw just about anything EXCEPT the extreme stuff. Like r@pe/sa, anything sexual involving children, inc€st, extreme NSFW, age gap, proship, stuff like that.

Thats also included with any just random asks that doesnt involve art. I dont want that shit.

But there are a vast range of things I WILL draw! Including,

• Characters from literally whatever. Be it from a videogame, tv show, anime, movie- what have you! (If I havent heard of whatever media said character its from, let me know what it is so I can look it up and learn more about it :])

Edit: I’ve realized I should specify my limits on the requests of ship art. If you request self ship art, and you are asking to be drawn shipped with an adult character, and you are a minor, I will not draw it.

I’m not comfortable drawing minors shipped with adult characters or characters portrayed in the media it’s in and/or by the fandom as an adult. Now, if you want an OC (that’s an adult) shipped with an adult character, I don’t mind.

Unless youre a minor and you see a character as a parental figure, and want to be drawn with said character as such, a wholesome child-parent thing- I don’t mind that either.

This also includes any other kinds of ship art. Any child x adult requests will be ignored and deleted from my inbox. Along with anything else I’ve listed above as stuff I won’t draw.
