Now that I'm an adult in my 30s I think back to the ways teachers responded to me as a kid and I'm like... that was wrong. Like not even the times it was ethically wrong to mock/bully a child or whatever but even the times they "corrected" me for shit I was right about or made me feel stupid for answering a question in a way that wasn't exactly the way they wanted. For one, all it did was make me never participate in class again bc it was humiliating in front of the peers who already did not like me and for two, I was literally right tho. Like. I did answer those questions correctly and if they wanted a different answer they should have been more clear in their question, it's not my fault for answering the question they asked.

Also every teacher who called me a know it all or made jokes about me to other students behind my back should die. And also the ones who gave up on me early on, made it clear they were giving up on me, and then mocked me when I did attempt to put some effort into their class. They should be drawn and quartered.

headcanons vol. i

Get to know Merida DunBroch who’s twenty-two years old and a senior in college majoring in Women’s Study. She is from Scotland and is often times mistaken for Maria Pedraza while others say she reminds them of Merida from Brave.

- Merida was born and raised a princess in DunBroch, a kingdom in Northern Scotland. The eldest of four (and the only daughter), she was groomed with the intentions of one day assuming power.

- Her three younger brothers are triplets, and they hold a special place in her heart. They are what she misses most about home, and what was hardest to leave.

- True to her blood, she was taught to hold a bow as soon as she had the upper body strength. Though her father was impressed by how quickly she picked it up, her mom was not.

- Though not (terribly) smart, she shows her street intelligence in high pressure situations; she is not satisfied without a solution, and will happily be both the brains and the brawn of every operation, if necessary.

- Taught to be a leader, she has found greater use for her inner strength in defiance. She’s now a rebel for the current cause, and never hesitates to help those in need. She even tries to help those who say they aren’t, sometimes, but that’s more tied into her...

- Arrogance. Or really, hard-headedness. Merida cannot be told she is wrong, nor convinced that anything is impossible. Life is a series of decisions, and she wants to make every single one for herself.

- That’s what led her to Corona Island. Upon turning sixteen, her parents began to invite nearby royals to their feasts, introducing her to sons somewhat close to her in age. She learned, at age seventeen, that doing so was in anticipation of a future political betrothal to one of them. But, not future enough; upon turning eighteen, she had to plead for the wedding to be delayed, using further education hundreds of miles away as an excuse.

- No one here knows that she’s royalty. Not because she’s keeping it a secret, of course, but because Corona offered a fresh start, and its own princess, and she decided to pursue young adulthood without the weight of responsibility. It was a great idea, originally, but as she’s coming up on graduating, she has to face her heritage once more. The decision of external versus internal responsibility has been weighing on her.

- Cottagecore meets punk meets hipster. Her style is largely inspired by her Scottish roots, founded in knits, jumpers, thick pants, boots, and scarves. Small adjustments are made for the summer.

- Very loud and very opinionated. Comes off as a tomboy because she doesn’t care to put effort into maintaining a false image of excessive femininity. Great in group settings -- often the life of parties, the conversation driver, and one of the first people invited.

- Though she is definable as chaotic, her space is rather organized. Her soft side can be seen in her home decorations (drawings from her brothers, hand-dipped mini tapestries, and granite doodles of powerful women), her preference towards neutrals and nature patterns, and the repurposed wooden furniture she clumsily trips over every time she navigates around it.

- She’s always found archery relaxing, but lately, it almost feels like her second nature; she doesn’t even have to aim anymore to get a perfect shot, but perfect form was not the most useful of party tricks in Corona.

- Would define herself as spiritual, and puts great weight in superstition/myths/signs/fate.

- Out of the same desire that pushed her away from Scotland, she does not want to settle down with anyone in Corona. Doing so would just make things sloppier, so, although she loves to get close to people (emotionally and physically), she ensures that there is a certain distance, lest she fall for someone so far from home.

- Has lots of trouble with authority.

- Gets herself involved in trouble/drama regularly, by accident, but also forces those involved to talk out their problems. Unless she’s directly involved, in which case her feelings blind her from rationality (which is highly possible).

- Generally optimistic, and lives with a ‘why not’ attitude.

- Can outdrink you, and is very proud of it! Can also eat more than you, though that’s not a contest; she just really likes food. It’s a miracle she has the metabolism she does.

- So long as she’s in Corona, Merida sees it as a vacation, and she’s just here to make the most of it. Until she’s forced back to an arranged marriage in Scotland, that is.

Wanted connections:

- royal(/esque) friends; though she hasn’t confessed her own title, she’d naturally gravitate towards islanders in power around her age to see how they handle it (especially those who present as non-traditional)

- non-royal friends; this girl is loud, and though some may find her annoying, she is socially motivated and operates in good spirit

- flings; everyone she’s done anything with in corona has known in advance that she refuses to settle down, so these people were either okay with that, or pretended to be

- feelings; though she’s so anti-commitment, she’s still just a girl who might (quietly) crush on the occasional person or two

- everything tbh; she just needs people who she meshes with/who she can be competitive with/who can balance her out

it’s hard for me to talk about her before rambling a bit so here i go! her name is audrey cramer which is 1). a reference to my favorite actress ( audrey hepburn ) and 2). a reference to one of my favorite families ( the cramer women ) in my favorite soap opera, one life to live. i love ( love ) soaps; passions, all my children, and one life to live were my biggest favs even though passions was stupid most of the time looking back. the deaths of AMC / OLTL still hurt. but hey, general hospital, days, and the cbs soaps are still kicking even if i don’t watch them. the point of bringing this up is that the mini-story in my head with these characters in the sims is basically kind of a...love letter to soaps and the tropes they have ( the romance, the cheating, scandals, the star crossed lovers, the people who die but never stay dead, etc. ) but with a fantasy twist since the town is occupied by fairies, wizards, werewolves, etc.

anyway, audrey. while soaps are an ensemble, pretty much every single one has that one female character that ‘leads’ the show ( all my children had erica kane, one life to live had victora / vicki lord, general hospital still has laura spencer, days of our lives also still has its female lead, marlena evens, etc, etc. ) audrey is the ‘lead’ of [fictional town i haven’t fully decided the name of].

audrey is well... me. her name was literally my middle name back when i first created her back when my brother got me the sims 1 ( side note: i love my big bro. he’s great ). she’s always been black, she’s aways been a writer, and a hopeless romantic who just so happens to be good at things i’m not ( i hate cooking -> audrey ended up going into the professional chef career lmao ). she was basically built off the things young summer liked and did or either aspired to do or get better at. she is, quite literally, my idealized self i guess. ( i think her love interest may or may not have originally been based off this cute hispanic boy i spent all day at the pool with once one summer. did we dramatically look at each other through the gates when he finally had to go home? maybe. i was in love ya’ll!!! )

i literally had a journal in middle school were i wrote out stories between the characters - although looking back on it now, i would probably cringe since most of it would read like a trashy reality show to me ( for context, stuff like flavor of love / i love new york was at its peak back then ) rather than the well crafted soap that 13 year old me envisioned. however, instead of just...throwing all that away, i recently started to build this storyline in my head ( mostly b/c i’m not very fond of the sims 4 and want to find ways to keep myself invested in it ) and revamp parts i didn’t like. basically i asked: how can i make this interesting to me - even if it is, admittedly, self indulgent to my tastes? the answer was to start building a world which is...something i’ve never done before? and it’s still in like super, super infant phases b/c i haven’t been playing ts4 at all but it is something i want to work for my own enjoyment / challenge to myself.

SO. the beginning of the story has always started with audrey returning home for a funeral - her mother’s funeral to be exact. there’s a lot of baggage here due to the fact that 1). her mom is/was easily the most important in town, 2). the cramers, who are also witches, are seen as the ‘pillars’ of the community and thus someone needs to step up and take her mother’s place (i’m still debating on her mom’s new name  / whether i want it to be a soap character reference or not so that’s why i’m not saying a name), and 3). her mother’s death slowly begins to look more and more like a murder than a natural cause of death.

on top of all of this, audrey hasn’t been back home since graduating high school and leaving her HS sweetheart behind due to conflicting desires ( she wants to escape what she is - a witch / half faye via her father - and wants to leave it behind while he takes pride in his family and what he is - a werewolf. ( we all know they’re going to fall in love again but...slow burn baby ).

there’s also the fact that well...the cramers like all families are dysfunctional. before i touch on her sisters, however, i also have to mention another trope within soap operas. if a character (doesn’t matter if they’re a man or a woman) has multiple children then each child is basically guaranteed to have a different mom / dad  ( if a brother and sister on a soap have the same mom and dad, that’s actually a miracle lol ). that’s how it is with audrey and her sisters, serena and alexendra.

serena. the oldest who was originally the baby - although audrey tends to act more like it. literally gives not a single fuck(tm) about having magical powers and constantly leaves the council on read about becoming the new head now that her mother is dead. she’s single, constantly ready to mingle - in bed. basically fulfills the hot / steamy part of the ‘love in the afternoon’ part of soaps + is a person whose life is a mess and is always into something they probably shouldn’t be in.

alexenda. the baby who, at least back during the ts1 and ts2, was actually the oldest but things change!!! her personality has changed a lot because she used to be the oldest that was a nerd - i admittedly wasn’t invested in her back then as much as i am now. is more of a modern day hipster now who is an artist more than anything else. i’m still fleshing her new personality out so there’s not much here yet.

the momma without a name yet ( might just be marlena b/c while i’ve never been super into days of our lives, the character marlena literally got possessed by the devil twice and that should be honored tbh ). anyway, she dead. has had an antagonist relationship with esperanza kane since forever and may or may not have been sleeping around with her husband. oops. ( esperanza is the mother of christian, audrey’s ex. :))) )

anyway, this isn’t like....a deep plot. i’m very self aware about it. it’s messy and drama filled b/c that’s well...soaps lol.

bonus: they also have pets. the dog is named carly after a character from general hospital that’s always yelling and in people’s faces lol. the brownish cat is the mom’s cat, vicki (named after the ever wise victoria lord), who can speak and acts as an ‘advisor’. audrey’s cat is...victor manning who doesn’t think he’s a cat and would probably try to fight you in the street if he could - that’s what you can expect from a cat named that lol. he loves belly rubs though!!!!

Starmyu S3 episode 6 review

I’ve wanted to write a review for starmyu season 3 ever since the season started, but things happened and I was unable to do it. I’m thinking of writing a post summarizing my thoughts for episodes 1-5 later. Anyway, this episode has been by far the best of the season. There are so many things I want to say, but first of all, I am really excited because we finally got to see team Hiragi and the others performing together! Hoshitani also finally learns shiki’s true identity!! (I.e. him being the president of the Kao council).

A big plus for me was seeing Otori at the end!

Starmyu wouldn’t be starmyu without Otori and the others. S1 and S2 had them and I am glad S3 is no exception! Though, I’ll accept anything starmyu gives me. Not going to lie. I just love this anime so much.

Other things I absolutely loved about this episode:

- How Nanjo expects Hoshitani to do his stuff and find a solution to their problems. The same could be said about Tatsumi. Nanjo and Tatsumi have high expectations of Hoshitani and it shows. I really like how much they trust him. Hoshitani isn’t called “miracle hoshitani” for no reason, after all!

- Team Hiragi’s trust in the others. They didn’t have the time to practice together, but believed everything would be fine (except Ugawa who seemed a bit worried XD).

- Everyone is already used to Hoshitani’s way of thinking, so instead of waiting for Hoshitani to come up with a decision, they anticipated what he would do and prepared themselves for it. It’s nice to see how close they are and to see them act like a big team who has each other’s back.  

- Tatsumi admiring Hoshitani and seeing hoshitani’s wings grow (…or his feathers). This scene reminds me of Ageha’s vision of Haruto in S2 and Hoshitani’s vision of Otori! The wings represent their talent and it seems Hoshitani’s wings are finally starting to grow! (or become more noticeable). 

- Hoshitani screaming at shiki and asking him who he is. Also, his reaction at the end when he sees shiki “huuuh?!” He never saw this coming XD I loved their whole interaction, tbh.

Shiki sure seems to love to tease Hoshitani haha That was a nice parallel. 

Adding this scene just because shiki seems to be admitting he can’t help, but want to spoil Hoshitani:

Shiki is still a mysterious character for me as there are many things we don’t know about him; however, I do appreciate/like how he tries to act like a good senpai and how, whether he realizes it or not, he is slowly growing fond of Hoshitani. How do I say this… he is nice to Hoshitani, but his comment in episode 2 (when he was eating with Kasugano and Irinatsu) made me realize he thinks of Hoshitani as just another one of the students he has to take care of. Hoshitani is a member of team Otori, who is well-known for always surprising others and for its members strong personalities, but that’s it. I might be wrong, but for the time being, I feel that he himself have yet to fully realize he is falling for Hoshitani’s charisma. In other words, he isn’t helping Hoshitani because he wants Hoshitani to realize his dreams, he is helping him because he wants opening ceremony to go well. Though, I am sure he never expected the “company” to do this. I am looking forward to their future interactions and to how Hoshitani will “save” shiki (as implied in the OP).    

It seems next episode we’ll get to see how the previous Kao council selected the new Kao council members. There are high chances we’ll learn why the new Kao council behaves the way they do and what is it that they are trying to do with the new reform. They’ve mentioned wanting to change the system, but until now I’ve yet to see them do anything different from the previous generation. They (or should I say, Fuyuzawa) refuse to give the opportunity to the other students to perform together simply because they “aren’t good enough”. I personally do not agree with this, and no, I am not saying this only to defend Hoshitani (my favorite character in Starmyu). What I mean is, isn’t the musical department (other than the stars of stars team) composed of recognized talented individuals such as Tsukigami and Tengenji? I also remember Toraishi saying to Kuga in season 1, he was talented enough to join the stars of stars team. If we believe his words, kuga(‘s talent) is by no mean inferior to team Hiragi’s members. S2 also showed us his great potential, so I have no problems believing Toraishi’s words. Of course, there’s also Ageha and Kitahara, who have both shown they are more than able to put a good (if not excellent) performance. Same with Nanjo, whose talent has been acknowledged by Fuyuzawa and Chiaki. 

Now, I know I just said above I wasn’t going to defend Hoshitani, but let’s be honest, the guy has shown what he is capable of doing several times. First it was during his first year, when he and the rest of team Otori performed without a stage and stole everyone’s (maybe even shiki’s) heart. Second, it was during the previous Kao council’s graduation ceremony. Hoshitani was entrusted with lambert’s role (a main role), and did an excellent job. Hiragi wouldn’t have given him the role if he thought Hoshitani couldn’t do what was required of him and Uozumi wouldn’t have become infatuated with him. He saw something in Hoshitani, the same way he saw something in Otori years ago. I’d be nice to see Fuyuzawa acknowledging him and the others at the end of the season!

random modern assorted headcanons because if i keep this in my head any longer, i’ll die.

gendry doesn’t like chewing gums. every time he smokes and wanted to get rid of the taste, he’ll prefer chewing on a candy. sour candies usually have no effect on him, and he prefers them over blatant sweets.

since his half-siblings are of royal birth, and some noblemen, gendry is highly and extremely discouraged to have direct contacts with them. even when he’s invited to a red keep, it’s usually a member of a castle staff that will invite. but the siblings forego this and have contacts with him anyway. they have a massive group chat on whatsapp. it’s one of gendry’s most active chat.

he’s terrible in school. he can’t cope with stuff academically and he Suffers(tm) through it a lot. it’s actually a miracle that he managed to graduate high school at all, though it doesn’t really matter because nobody really came to his high school graduation even though he invited tobho mott. (he doesn’t like inviting the royals side of his family / friends cause his school is in a bad neighbourhood)

speaking of high school, he’s basically been hassled to join the wrestling team since he was in his junior year when the coach took notice of him and every time its a Struggle(tm) to ask the coach to back off, please, thanks

gendry does calm down significantly once he’s got his tea. being a creature of habit as well, he takes them at a specific schedule every day. nobody has ever really noticed this before. if they have, it’ll definitely make it easier for them to break some bad news at him.

though academics has never been his thing, gendry has excellent hands-to-eye coordination and a quick grasp on practical things. so, wood shop, a bit of mechanics, driving anything tbh, stuff that involves his hands a lot comes so, so much easier for him.

with that said, in spite of having the built, gendry isn’t much of a sportsman. he likes football like any average english fan, and he was in a baseball team when he’s a kid (but he sort of Forgot all about it lmao) but he’s not fanatic regarding it. if he could’ve been something else i.e. work, or meet his siblings, hang out with his close friends who he likes, sleep, he’d rather do that more.

while gendry has direct connection to the royal family, he is immensely independent out of them. a lot of his financial stuff, he’s dealt with on his own. all of the official documents, he’s never reached out for anybody to help him with it. 

the red keep offered him a dual passport and ID for, technically, being of the royal member. e.g. one ID / passport is the normal, everybody-in-westeros should have kind, and the other would be lamented in a the colour of gold and be imprinted slightly differently to signify royal, but — as gendry’s rejected his official recognition as “waters” and wanted to remain a “smith”, the offer becomes moot.

doesn’t use social media apps as much, doesn’t like them. the only reason he’s got them was because a lot of his siblings have access to reach him there if they want, so he mainly keeps it for them.

has had the same phone since he was like, 17 probably. never thought he would have to change it? but then he has to when he was like, twenty-four or twenty-three. and lmao that was: a Stressful time for him because he... really doesnt give a shit about that at all...

really attractive in general, but gloomy? has only one (1) girlfriend very briefly probably, but broke up with him when he was like nineteen. wasn’t a good month for him in general and likes to call mya, probably, to calm him down.

naps. a lot. he’s an old man. but doesn’t nap easy if he doesn’t trust that person. so he’ll sturbbornly blink and glare at something cause hes Tired(tm) but he wont sleep around you, nope, what if you rob him!!!

doesn’t trust the government. gendry “i know my father is the king, that doesn’t mean i trust him too.” smith. can’t actually tell anybody he’s the son of a king, though. only members of the royal family and the royals’ advisors as well as lawyers / rp team / financial group / royal protection squad are aware of gendry’s existence as robert’s unrecognised bastard son.

gets really agitated in a place where there’s a lot of people. but arya still drags him to concerts anyways. he genuinely just stands them because he can be a Tol Bodyguard for her and hoists her up if she can’t see the stage.

There was one where I was alone in a church and no matter where I looked there was this nun with sunken eyes like some kind of zombie dressed in red. I looked at the back pews and she was sitting there, I looked back at the front and she was there. When I went out into the hall she was sitting on a chair in front of me, and then when I looked to the far end of the hall she was there too. For some reason I couldn’t bear to look at her, but I had to go to her, so I looked at the ground and ran to her. I think the dream ended when I kind of grabbed her and laughed cuz I was scared.

it’s technically all blonde but i wouldn’t blame you for thinking the top is light brown. i have the bottom half dyed like a honey blonde and it comes to about midway down my back (this is short for me). it’s kinda wavy naturally but i always plait it overnight so it’s curly most of the time

hazel, more green than brown and i have a dark ring around the outside of my iris, sometimes it looks green, sometimes brown. probably those and my hair are what i get complimented on the most (unless you’re my mum who won’t shut up about my smile)

so i was born in london but i now live in norfolk (english countryside). but i desperately want to move  (and hopefully i will soon)

i graduated uni last year

11. What kind of student are you?

teacher’s pet bro. my worst fear was being shouted at by my teachers. i was always early to every lesson and generally did all my homework (not necessarily the night i got it but ya know). i had to try super hard at school because although im smart ive never been good at exams.i was that kid who started revising for june exams in february. i also didn’t realise i was dyslexic at school so that was a massive struggle for me. i’ve always liked to learn but yeah school was a bit of a struggle. i peaked in primary school (no seriously i was listed as gifted in ps and predicated a* in everything and then when i went to hs and sixth form i underperformed in all my exams- lmao yikes) but i graduated uni with a 2:1 so fuck the education system

probs english, history, business studies and psychology (not surprising those are the four i took for a-levels)

chaos walking trilogy (which is like the only book i had to read for school that i can still tolerate), the night circus, tatbilb, ready player one, the martian, hp series, the selection series, idk again more i cant think of off the top of my head

mainly not being braver and believing in myself more. like its hard to come to terms with the fact that you didn’t truly start living until about 20/21

25: What is the scariest nightmare you’ve ever had?

well i had this reoccurring nightmare as a kid where i was in a house that got invaded and i was murdered. but this is a whole thing okay, like i think it was a past life. i looked it up and there was an actual murder where every detail is the same as my dream and there are other similarities to my actual life and i used to see this man in my room who looks like the killer. anyway its a whole thing and for sure the reason home invasion is one of my all time biggest fears

no that i know of, i try to be nice to everybody and give them no reason to dislike me. if i have an enemy its definitely a one sided thing
