danny phantom season 2, ep 12-16 thoughts! these episodes, in comparison to the first 10 or so, felt way more laid back and low-stakes, which I appreciate sometimes. I didn't appreciate how lazy jack's halfa design was in masters of time, it made me so annoyed I redesigned it. 👎🏻 u_u

-clockwork is back!!! and making danny learn lessons The Hard Way. Uhhh, okay. I kind of get Danny’s logic, that time traveling this far back would prevent vlad from becoming a halfa also, ergo no arch nemesis or ectoacne to worry about. But the fact that was basically the first solution Danny came up with to solve this problem is actually so funny. It’s so extreme

-vlad telling maddie in the lab (in the 80s) he has something he's wanted to tell her 'for a long time'...how long have they known each other? I assumed they met in college, since jack always calls vlad his college buddy/roommate, so jack and vlad for sure met in college, but did vlad know maddie longer? thats surprising if so. Tho we don’t know what year of college they’re in so they could mean they met as freshmen and a few years have past…speaking of maddie shes crushing the 80s look.

-vlad blames jack, but. maybe dont stick your face 2 inches from the portal??! THIS FEELS LIKE LAB SAFETY BASICS. IF SOMETHING HAS POTENTIAL TO BE DANGEROUS, DONT GET NEAR IT. Also mildly frustrated jacks resentment and bitterness is basically also a copy paste of vlads backstory. They’re different characters, I really don’t think jack would stew in bitterness and jealousy the same way vlad would!! I also don’t think he’d give up after one time of trying to hunt ghosts and getting laughed at. -did vlad really wear a stupid cheese hat to his wedding. ok actually that kinda rules. and the cheese door knocker. the dairy-only buffet table. vlad still got rich, just on being the New Dairy King. (Assuming that means he owns a lot of dairy businesses?) ok! this actually is great. hope maddie isn't lactose intolerant!

-'no matter how hard I tried, I could never get rid of my ghost half, the half I knew Maddie could never accept' ohh, ouch, what a horrible thing to say to her HALF GHOST SON. 'YOUR MOM WILL NEVER ACCEPT YOU' BASICALLY.

-maddie strapping danny to the table with a lazer pointed at him in a secret lab she keeps from vlad that she makes a point of saying is sound proof so he can scream all he wants...CHRIST. DANNYS POOR PYSCHE.

-also, not to feel bad for alternate vlad (because, he did lie to maddie saying jack blames her and never wants to see her again...) but. being married to a woman 20+ years and she immediately goes back to jack? if she didnt love vlad and feels like she had to hide shit from him, and says she wasted her best years with him, WHY MARRY HIM. it feels like leading him on!!! cannot believe im feeling bad for vlad, but. this alternate timeline vlad is significantly Less Horrible than Our Vlad. did she not think she'd get funding for her ghost stuff? (which, fair assumption since they're considered 'ghost fanatics/nuts in canon...but...) why did she think jack or vlad would be her ONLY OPTIONS? be like your sister. be single. Actually, this au could’ve been really interesting if after the accident, vlad lied to her and said jack never wanted to see her again, but she stays single. Imagine how much that would bug vlad… like, in her mind, it was never a competition it was jack or no one type situation…

-danny being like 'leave him ALONE' this jack is a HOMEWRECKER, DANNY. let them go to court and settle this at the least. ...or just throw vlad into the portal. (100% human, defenseless vlad) CHRIST, MADDIE THATS BRUTAL. THATS MURDER.

-danny seeing his mom immediately accepting him and his dad being half ghosts in this universe, if I was him this would be a great sign that his universe's maddie would also.

-when clockwork ""reset time to the way it was"" just before danny "meddled"" ...did he really erase a whole alternate timeline? ...damn. because maddie and danny both called it an alternate timeline by name, it splitting when the college incident went different, so it wouldnt have really mattered if he reset it, right. like because danny's timeline is on a different stream? why didnt clockwork just. show danny a replay and not Reset That Timeline. wh...I wonder how many people that Erased From Existence. Anyway! once again stating clockwork is casually terrifying!

From my mom; "So, this is really hard for me to write, but I find myself in such an utterly desperate situation that I don't know what else to do. My name is Chelle Ganieany and I live with my husband Jon and our 13 year old son Eli, as well as having our 20 year old son home from college for the summer. We had some fraud on our bank account in March, where we had about $1500 stolen in such a way that the bank can't prove its fraud. It resulted in our rent check, utility payments and everything else, bouncing. While I managed to get the water and electricity taken care of eventually, we simply don't make enough, currently, to pay 2 months rent in 1 month to makeup for March, so we've consistently been a month behind since then, trying to make up for it. My husband and i came home from work yesterday to a 3 day notice from our landlords and I don't have a clue what next to do, and I'm really trying. We can't lose everything again, as a few years before we lost our house and most of our belongings already.   We have to come up with about $1800 and as I work for ~3 dollars an hour as a waitress, my check on Friday will only be $100 to give to them.  Jon will be paid again on the $15th, but I don't know if we have that much time and its only about $900. We just need to get caught up from that missed months rent and we'll be ok. We've managed to make the rent here for about a year and a half and we'd keep doing it, we just haven't a clue how to get that month (and late fees) caught up. My parents have been through a hard few years of homlessness and debt, especially medical debt. My mom struggles with three different autoimmune diseases, as well as mental health issues and has constant medical bills looming after them, and my dad has severe back problems, which he works full time with despite the pain. They're good people who have done their best for their kids, have accepted me for who i am, and give their hearts out to everyone they meet. If they lose this home, they will lose everything, as they have no money for moving trucks or storage, and they cant bring the animals that theyve had my whole life to a shelter. Weve called all the agencies around us, and have has no luck with assistance. We're pretty desperate, and don't know where we'll sleep if we get thrown out. So @mdeenise “challenged” me to answer all of the questions from this Hogwarts Mystery Asks: MC. I’ve already answered some (can check ‘asks’ or ‘ask game’ tags, I’ll also link them in my Masterlist) so I’ll answer the rest I haven’t been asked yet here because

1. What is their whole name? 

Nereida Adelyn-Keira LaFontaine Black

5. How is there relationship with Jacob?

Keira and Jacob were very close - it was them against the world! They’re very protective of one another, they can get/have gotten into a lot of trouble together, both with a rebellious, mischievous streak; but they are also siblings so there’s teasing, embarrassing each other, lots of physical ‘play fighting’ - they’re very much like I can be mean to my sibling but if you’re mean to them I’ll hurt you. Clearly when he ‘disappeared’ it was devastating for Keira and she felt completely alone. 

6. How is their relationship with their parents?

Both Keira and Jacob loved their mom who was their primary caregiver. Keira honestly doesn’t really remember her dad much but Jacob hates him. She has a vague recollection of him and Regulus and Sirius, a bit better memory of Sirius who kept in contact with her and Jacob even after they moved to Canada, possibly to spite his parents but Keira thinks he actually cares about his younger half-siblings even if it was something that started out from spite or curiosity. 

When their mom died of course Jacob and Keira were very sad over their loss. They were then taken in by their mom’s close friends and moved to Canada from Ireland and while there was an adjustment period they both appreciate the care they provided, and while Jacob and Keira didn’t exactly feel like they belong in this ‘family’ their mom’s friends were great parental figures and they do care about them and appreciate everything they’ve done for them. Their dad was nonexistent in their lives after the passing of their mom (he passed soon after the next year, after the death of Regulus) but when they arrived in the UK to attend Hogwarts they did find savings left for them from their dad in Gringotts (safe to assume without his wife’s knowledge). 

So both love their mom and ‘adopted’ parents (unofficially adopted =p) and while Jacob hates their dad and views him as a manipulative, selfish, neglectful arse, Keira is pretty neutral and apathetic about her dad since she doesn’t really remember him all that well. But she appreciates the money! =p 

8. How’s their relationship with their family?

Ahahahahahaha - I’m cackling =p

Unfortunately, the family on Keira and Jacob’s mom’s side are all pretty much passed or they have no idea who they are =p Their mom and mom’s parents are passed and their mom had no siblings since her mom died relatively soon after her birth (undines...) As stated before, Jacob and Keira appreciate and care very much for their mom’s friends who took them in after her passing, although a bit of awkwardness since it’s not ‘really’ their family...

As for the Black side of their family *more cackling* Orion seemed much more interested in their mom than them and didn’t seem to want much to do with them, at least according to Jacob. Walburga hates them and this whole situation, of course! With good reason! She honestly probably would of had them killed. She focused most of her energy on ensuring this scandal did not get out into the public and was probably very relieved when they moved across the pond. Of course when Jacob returned to attend Hogwarts he was done living this lie and didn’t care who it upset and went by his Black family name, encouraging his sister to do the same - this family would not win! Walburga could try to deny it all she wanted but a paternity test (which I’ve done some research on Wizarding World paternity tests and some interesting ideas came up!) just proved it.

Despite this, Walburga and the rest of the Black family continued to ignore their entire existence. Andromeda may have been left out of the loop considering she was disowned from the family as well but when Keira and Tonks realized they were both related to Bellatrix Lestrange, and therefore related themselves, Keira was so happy to be accepted by some members of the Black family. Sirius also was accepting of his younger half-siblings and stayed in contact with them even after they moved to Canada. He may have only gone to see them at first out of curiosity and then continued to visit and communicate with them out of spite to his parents but he probably did care about them and enjoyed them more than Regulus because they weren’t brought up in a pureblood elitist household. Probably wished their mom was his mom which would just upset Walburga. And if Walburga didn’t hate them before, after she passed, Keira, now more spiteful and daring with everything that has happened, moved into the now empty (well except for Kreacher) 12 Grimmauld Place which would just piss Walburga off! How she convinced Remus, no idea - basically she was like I’m doing this and Remus had to go along with it =p

Wait, is Kreacher family? Keira and Kreacher argue a lot and she will not stand for him being mean to Remus or any of her friends and will threaten to kick him out although it’s an empty threat because she wouldn’t actually kick him out and make him homeless! Kreacher of course thinks she’s invading some place that does not belong to her but because she is a Black she sort of does belong there and while not related to his previous Walburga, she is to Orion so he has to put up with her =p They eventually reach an understanding. Kreacher is free to stay there and does not have to do any chores or cleaning up after her or Remus, as long as he’s nice... or just stays away from her friends and Remus. 

I’m not sure how Regulus felt about them, maybe neutral? I think discovering his dad’s affair would be a shock to him, he might be curious as well to meet them and I like to think did meet them at least once, possibly while their mom was passing (like Orion went to see her and Sirius and Regulus decided to go as well because, hey, it is their younger siblings whether they like it or not and it’s a hard thing to go through) but I think he was more worried and concerned about Death Eater affairs and tricking Voldemort =p

So while Keira is close with Tonks, and probably her parents as well, and both Keira and Jacob are accepted by Sirius, and maybe even Regulus, who knows =p, most of the Black family still pretends they don’t exist. Although I like to think Keira later bonds with Draco and they become close and overall these next generations are going to be better. And while Bellatrix may refuse to acknowledge Keira’s relationship to her, deep down she actually really likes Keira because she’s a strong, tough bitch who isn’t afraid of her and would have killed Dumbledore without even being a Death Eater if asked =p Seriously, Keira knows she’s actually Bella’s favorite. 

(This also pretty much works for my original HP OC bio where she was Sirius’ daughter because besides Tonks, Andromeda, and Ted, the rest of the Black family wouldn’t really acknowledge her existence either)

Does Remus count as family? Of course he does, he’s “Uncle Remus!” =p Remus and Keira had an instant bond, they are incredibly close - I like to think of it as two people who felt completely alone in the world found each other and now they were not longer alone. Keira is very much like Sirius, and Jacob can be very much like James actually, so it was actually nice for Remus to be around them if not bittersweet. I actually have a post about Keira and Remus’ relationship so I won’t say too much more besides they are very close and Keira is suuuuper protective over him.

Keira has a Siamese cat and Jacob had a Barred Owl named Archimedes which I guess is hers now too? Jacob also wanted a dog or crup but then went to school so their ‘adoptive’ parents are taking care of it =p

Charlie Weasley.

She won’t outright admit it but it’s obvious to everyone else besides Charlie. Wasn’t even aware of it herself for quite awhile! =p But fortunately she plays it pretty cool and isn’t a stuttering mess around him so maybe he has no idea she likes him because she’s so chill and nonchalant about it. Although she can be flirtatious but she can be like that with a lot of people =p (She’s related to Sirius she can’t help it! =p)

16. Have they ever dated someone before (Either back at their home or at Hogwarts)?

Rumour has it during her summer before Sixth Year, where she spent most of it in Canada, and going into Sixth Year she was dating someone. Has not been confirmed nor denied. 😜

by popular demand, here is my oc chatter regarding stuff like relationships n random character traits. its rly long oops but i divided it by character at least lmao,, these are all things that i think id also wanna use if i ever use these characters as humans (which i def will at some point honestly)

- i thinkkkk i want toad and pike to date. toad would come across pike in their lagoon one day while hes wandering around on another wonked exploration and pike is like hey lol :B with their pointy teeth and long ass hair and toad is like :0 he just sits and talks with pike for hours and comes by a few times a week to hang out with them. they fall in LOVE

- fred and lani are def gonna date too. two butches who use he/him pronouns fuck yeah? they have a powerful relationship. mega BDE. power couple. not a lot of pda but alone together theyre both very loving and tender, its a vulnerability thing for both of them. like lani is very cool and can be either stoic or borderline obnoxious while fred is punkish. fred is very head over heels for lani tho 

- mardi n berg.....complicated....i gotta figure out how they actually end up together. berg is a jogger and mardi is a piercer/tattoo artist so that doesnt....make them line up very much in that department. ill think about it more and figure something out. itll probably have something to do with berg’s nose stripes and eye rings

- also side note on mardi......i want his backstory to include a grey period set off by his brother being eaten when they were both young at the troll tree. like he becomes angry and depressed, sorta like branch, his tattoos that he gives himself the only color on his body, until he learns to let go and his colors come back (high key this was inspired by 21 savage, mardi’s voice claim, and the line in his new song A Lot “my brother lost his life and it turned me to a beast”). ill develop this idea further but i just wanted to get it written down

- bismuth.......unsure. they had a crush on pepper and kept trying to ask her out until she came out to them as a lesbian, then they were like :’) but theyre ride or die theyre not gonna be an ass to her because they cant date her. they just care a lot about her. its like icarly

- gazpacho and jupiter CUTE two small trans trolls in That Love. i need to develop them more but. theyre just cute 

- talia is still a little too new for me to develop her......but im thinkin about it...

- kinda same with ernie and olive. they kinda mostly just exist as cute babby characters right now? if anything olive is a trouble maker and ernie is a chatterbox

- clem and thursday also fuckin cute as hell......clem was a nervous wreck asking thursday out but theyve been together like ever since, which is more than a few years. they have a rly cute gentle lovey dovey relationship. thursday is usually hanging around up on her gf’s shoulder giving her kisses on the cheek

- bea and crystal.......adorabl relationship......crystal is another character thats kinda nervous but bea is so chill n confident is helps calm her down. theyre both trans and love the hell out of each other. rly slow n steady relationship, bea is very patient

- pj and marcus!!!! dumb mlm rep relationship. pj is so so gay for marcus he can barely comprehend it. its a dumb ego boost for marcus but hes also very in love with pj, he just expresses it in a weird cocky way idk marcus is a nerd. i need to make more content for them i think about these two way more than it seems

- rainer. hm. i dont think theyre rly the dating type......theyre just chill with being them. they just wanna swim and be funny

- hammond and andromeda are probs two of my least developed characters.....hammond still needs a redesign. he might be cute to pair with walter, theyre around the same age. andromeda tho i have no idea. she might be a nice pairing with eve? if i ever feel like pairing her with someone...who knows. eve is very carefree and might find andromeda’s energy too intense

- radish i wanna make more content for!! i rly like her a lot....i think shes another troll who isnt interested in dating. shes very focused on being a chef instead. loves her friends a lot!

- mack and pepper 2gether 4ever obvs......they have a relationship that gets richer with age for sure

- im just gonna ramble about mack. i thinkkkkkkk i wanna make her half latina? columbian specifically. she doesnt quite read as white and i didnt make her with the intention of making her white. anyway i love mack a whole lot and should really develop her backstory more. its not rly as like...””tragic”” or whatever as pepper’s i know that but she def has layers. i wanna give her whole family more depth. she has a very complicated relationship with her own feelings and motivations that i need to think about more fully. my powerful femme tho i lov her

- mack’s parents, robin and champagne, i need to like....think about them more. they have kinda a comedic relationship thats sorta inspired by roger rabbit and jessica rabbit. robin is a very caring, gentle troll who’s very smart and cares a lot about his nursing responsibilities in the village. champagne is very relaxed and the “voice of reason” character of the family. she loves a good party and has her party planning down to a science. both are very successful power parents. kickass family

- i already talked about topaz and marney in a separate post but i still love them both so much. big wesbiabs

- pepper....pebber. im gonna talk about her the most obviously gfhjdkrs i wanna talk about her mental health i feel like i think about it a lot but i never write about it explicitly? this is gonna be long oops hgjfksd she has depression and ptsd stemming from the trauma of her crash...im thinking she also has adhd and thats just something shes always had. her depression rly got heavy during her recovery and right after like...she hated being bed/housebound and felt rly powerless to her situation and just let it eat at her until her personality had actually changed considerably. like extroverted wild child rebel to introverted, soft-spoken sulker. this got better with time but she still is pretty introverted, just turned her moodiness into chill energy. 

- she has bad depression habits like letting dishes, old food, laundry, or just stuff pile up in her room until it gets overwhelming and she spends like two days just manically cleaning; or staying in bed for way longer than she should and messing with her hygiene; or eating way more or way less than she should eat in a day. just stuff thats hard to completely break out of when youre recovering. her color is pretty consistently the dark red but if shes having a particularly rough day she might look a little paler, or like a muddy brick color at her worst. thats kinda rare tho

- her ptsd is the thing she hates the most. for a while it made her feel very weak and she’d beat herself up over being traumatized by the crash which was obviously not helpful to her mental state but she was really all over the place during her bodily recovery. its part of the reason why she started working out, she wanted to reclaim some sort of feeling of strength and power that she felt she’d lost completely. she still gets really frustrated with this feeling of loss but she gets a lot of support from loved ones which has helped her not self-blame so much. her ptsd manifests mostly as nightmares/insomnia, chronic headaches/stomachaches, intrusive thoughts and sometimes flashbacks. the nightmares are what rly get to her, she really doesnt get a lot of good sleep and it can get to the point where she just doesnt want to sleep sometimes and she’ll stay awake until she crashes hard

- her scars used to be a big trigger for her ptsd, which is why she has her bangs covering the one on her face and wears long pants (her knee braces are too bulky for pants and would force her to wear shorts which would force her to expose her scars). she just. really really hates them. this is something she struggles with for a majority of her life

- once she and mack start going steady with their dating and start consistently sleeping in the same bed, pepper starts to sleep better. she still has nightmares that wake her up at least weekly, but having mack there to comfort her (whether she wakes mack up accidentally or if mack is already awake) helps a TON with getting her back to sleep soundly. it also just helps her sleep in general to have that comforting, loving presence in her bed snuggled up to her ;w; mack is a big help in general with pepper’s mental health, pushing pepper to make better, healthier choices and get out in the village more and have fun. mack for sure does not “”cure”” pepper of anything but shes a very positive light in pepper’s life that helps her pull thru tough times!

Name: Nicole Marie (Ashworth) Evans, but I go by Nikki

How old are you? I’m currently 31, I will be 32 in September

Who are you in a relationship with? Chris Evans, the hot American actor…

Are you married? If not would you marry them? Yes, we’ve been married for four years.

What about kids? Do you have them? Would you like them? We have two adorable little boys that are their dad’s mini mes. Seriously, it’s like my genes didn’t even make it into their DNA… Our oldest is Josh and he just turned 3 on the Fourth of July and our youngest is Aiden and he turned 1 in May. We plan on having more kids, we’d both love to have a little girl… but we’re not actively trying to get pregnant… we’re not exactly not trying though… as Chris says ‘if it happens, it happens… if not, at least we had fun trying’

What do you do for a living? Before Chris and I were reintroduced in 2011, I was working as a yoga instructor at a dance/yoga studio I was running with my best friend. I kept working there after we met, but after the kids came along it kind of got put on the back burner. I’m still a part owner of the studio and I will occasionally teach a class, but I’m usually there as a participant, especially for wine and yoga night.

Do you like your job, if you don’t have one, what’s your dream job? I guess you could say my current job really is mom… and I love it. It can be draining, especially when Chris is gone, but we both have amazing families that are there whenever they’re needed

Where are you from? I’m originally from sunny California, but my mom and I moved to Boston in 1996 because she got a job transfer. It was supposed to be for two years, but she ended up meeting my step-dad and they got married. That is actually how I met Chris, he and my step-brother have been best friends since they were kids.

Favorite TV show? I watch a lot of kids shows… but when I get to pick the channel, I love watching HGTV and Food Network. I’m a sucker for Dancing With the Stars… every season I say I’m done watching and then they bring a celebrity that I love on the show and I have to watch.

Favorite book? How does one pick a single book to be their favorite? Chris and I both love to read and our boys love being read to. We’re in the process of building a house and there is an upstairs sitting area that we’re going to set up as our family library. I’m not sure we’ll have enough bookcases…

Do you have any hobbies? I love doing yoga, especially first thing in the morning when the boys are all still asleep. It’s very peaceful. But I also love to cook and bake. I dabble in photography. I try to be crafty, but I stick to the easy, fool proof stuff because I get distracted so easily. I also enjoy bubble baths.

Sexuality? Straight.

What’s your best trait? I’d say it’s that I look for the best in people. I’m also a glass half full type of person.

What’s your biggest flaw. I over think the simplest things and I’m horrible about making decisions. I’m also terrible with not putting my clothes away. I get the kids and Chris’s put away though.

Would you give up your job to start a family? I already did and I don’t regret it for a moment. Right now it gives the boys and I the freedom to travel with Chris when he is filming. We’re actually looking for a rental house in Georgia right now where we’ll be living for the duration of the Infinity Wars filming.

What’s your favourite thing about your significant other? He has the biggest heart. He isn’t afraid to express his love for myself, the kids and our family members. He also loves to make people happy, especially kids. He is also a great listener whether it’s me talking about my day or listening to our youngest babbling to him over a video chat. What else… oh, he’s pretty cute… kind of muscly. And he can grow a magnificent beard.

What’s their most annoying habit? Where to begin? No, I’m just kidding. Like every couple, we both have habits that drives the other crazy, especially when our kids pick up those same habits (can you say socks all over the house?), but that’s just the way life is. He doesn’t like it when I click pens or tap my fingers… so it’s all fair in the end.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be? I’m not sure, I’m pretty happy the way I am… though, maybe slightly bigger boobs? I’m not nursing anymore, so my chest isn’t as full as it was and that kind of made things fun. Chris liked them. But I’m not interested in going under the knife for that… a pushup bra works wonders.

What would be the perfect holiday for you and your S/O to take together? It’s been a busy summer, so I’m definitely looking forward to some quiet time at our cabin. We’re actually going in a couple weeks to spend a week alone together and then his mom will bring our boys and the rest of the family out to join us. My parents own a cabin nearby, so my side of the family will be there as well. I’m definitely looking forward to it.

How do you feel about your s/o being friends with their ex? There are some of his ex’s that I am totally ok with him being friends with because they are respectful of the relationship he and I have. I’ve even become friends with a couple of them… I’m not going to say it’s awkward knowing that they’ve been with my husband because it is, There are others though, that are better in his past. I think he would say the same about some of my ex’s as well.

Do you care about other people flirting with your S/O? He’s a celebrity and people like him. It’s part of the business… I know he doesn’t encourage it or get off on it, it actually embarrasses him a little, but at the end of the day, he comes home to me.

Do you trust your s/o not to cheat on you? Absolutely. There is no doubt in my mind that he is completely loyal to me.

Do you think there would be ever a circumstance where you would cheat on them? No.

Anything else we should know? The first time I ever saw Chris was when I was 12 years old and right after my mom and step-dad got married. I was in the kitchen eating breakfast when he came in with my step-brother and he didn’t wait for my step-brother to introduce us, he just held out his hand and said, “My name is Chris.” Then he gave me that smile, you know the one, and I swear I fell in love with him in that moment. He was 16 at the time so it didn’t mean anything to him… but I still tease about the fact that it took him 13 years to notice me at my brother’s wedding. We reconnected at both the best and worst time of our lives, I was starting a business and he was about to shoot to mega stardom with the first Captain America movie… and those other things should have made starting a relationship hard, but it was exactly the opposite… we had someone to share the ups and downs with and it brought us together.

Prologue

LONDON 1971

It was quarter to nine in the evening and supposedly, there should be music blaring out loud with the chattering of the crowd clouding the place. The atmosphere should smell like sweat and smoke, and the room shouldn’t have this too much light. Yet instead, Eris stood by the telephone at her parents’ house, pulse racing and breath hitching. This was not how she pictured her night starting.

She takes a deep breath, trying to form the words to say to the person on the line. She was petrified, her feet suddenly felt heavy to move, and her fingers are starting to feel cold.

“Ms. Gray, are you still there?” The woman who broke the news exactly two minutes ago spoke again, her voice sounding concerned.

“Yes, I’m still here.” Eris stutters as her eyes begin to brim with tears.

“It would be advisable to get yourself checked up again, just to see see if the baby…” Her next words became a blur as Eris tries to take in everything that’s been said to her for the past four minutes she’s been on the phone.

Before the woman on the line could even finish her statement, Eris beats her to it, feeling her head pound already. For fuck’s sake, what is happening? Eris thought. She was on her way to the pub where she should be spending time with Roger along with Freddie, Brian, and John who she hasn’t seen for over a month now. But before she could even step outside the house, the phone rang, where she received that god-awful news she’s never even thought of hearing any time soon; not when she was just getting into med school, not when Roger is just kicking off with his music career. But it had to happen now, at the very worst moment: She had to be twelve weeks pregnant.

“Th—thanks for the call,” Eris croaked, “I’ll make sure to go to the hospital soon.” She put the phone down before leaning against the wall beside her. God, she was getting dizzy. The woman’s words echoed in her mind and it was all too overwhelming, she couldn’t think straight.

Eris tries to collect her thoughts while pacing back and forth in the living room. She brings her thumb to her mouth, nibbling on it. Half an hour had already passed and she was seconds away from losing her mind. She and Roger had just received their BSC and while they’ve been in a happy, committed relationship for almost three years now, they’ve never talked about settling down, let alone have a child. Sure, marriage was brought up once or twice, but they have other plans long before that; plans the two of them have talked about before they even met in college.

A knock on the door abruptly halts Eris from pacing. She stood frozen in her place, terrified that she has to face Roger this early. Before she could even wrap everything in her mind. Her breath hitches, legs not daring to move while she waits for the person at the door to speak.

“Eris, darling, are you home?” Freddie hollers and relief quickly rushed through Eris’ body from hearing that voice. She bolts to the door, grateful to have this person out of anyone in the world in her house right now. She swings the door open, revealing her good, old friend’s face.

“Ah, thought you should be home. I was on my way to the pub when I saw your light still open, so I figured—”

Freddie was cut off with Eris engulfing him with a tight hug, “God, Freddie. I’m so glad you’re here.”

“Well, can’t say I’m surprised. Anyone would be glad to see me.” Even without his face in view, Eris could picture the bloke’s smirk plastered on his face as he hugs her back. Typical Freddie Mercury, oozing with confidence.

They both enter the house with Freddie following Eris who is anxiously biting down her lower lip. She clasps her hands together, trying to formulate how she’s going to break it to him. Eris turns to face Freddie and parts her mouth only to be disrupted by Freddie’s enthusiastic clapping. He rushes towards her, a wide grin etched across his face.

“You will not believe who just phoned tonight!” Still grinning, Freddie’s warm hands held her cold ones. He paused for a quick second, letting the anticipation hold longer and continued, “EMI Records! They’re interested in managing us.”

It was difficult not to feel the weight in Eris’ chest getting heavier. Again, she should be mirroring Freddie’s smile, hugging him and congratulating him, and maybe even dragging him outside so the both of them can go and tell the rest of the guys. But the sadness and pained expression was evident, and it was only natural for Freddie to look confused.

“Are you alright, darling? Gosh, you look pale.” Freddie touched Eris’ cheek then her forehead to check before pulling her to the couch.

“I’m sorry… I…”

“Do you want me to fetch you water? Or do you want to catch some fresh air? Jesus, you look like you’re going to faint.”

“Fred, I need to tell you something.” Eris’ voice was low and somber and Freddie knew right away this was something serious. He sits beside her and stayed quiet, letting Eris take her time. She looks up to him and Freddie grew more concerned seeing the tears build in her eyes.

It pained Freddie to see her like this. Eris had gone through pain but never had he seen her this vulnerable and lost, and to say he was worried was an understatement.

“Darling, please. What is it?” Freddie’s voice came out as a whisper, full desperation laced in those last three words.

“I’m pregnant, Fred.” Eris couldn’t help but free the tears that have been long coming and shamelessly broke down in front of Freddie. She lowered her head down, struggling to catch her breath as Freddie takes in her words. It was silent for a moment, only Eris’ sobs contained the atmosphere.

“Have you told Roger?” was Freddie’s first question. Without looking up, Eris shakes her head, wiping her tears.

“I just found out a while ago, I… Fuck, Freddie. How could I even tell him?”

Eris leans down to rest her elbows against her knees, hands raising to cover her face in frustration. Eris knew Roger loved her, god, the man was obsessed with her, but she was also aware of Roger’s passion and fixation when it comes to music and the future he had pictured for himself and Queen. And the last thing Eris would want to do is ruin it all for him.

Freddie breathes out and holds out his arm to touch Eris’ hand. He gives it a tight squeeze before rising from his seat. He marches down to the kitchen and rummaged through the cupboard while the damsel confusingly waits for him. Minutes later, he comes back with a bottle of wine and two glasses. He sets them in the coffee table, pouring each glass with his and Eris’ favorite Sauvignon Blanc. He hands Eris her drink before taking his own and clinking their glasses.

“So…” He begins, crossing his legs, “What do you want to do?”

This is why Freddie is who Eris’ needs the most at this moment. Freddie and Eris had a fair share of tragic moments together and in those times, it was always Freddie who Eris confided more because of his means of addressing problems. He neither condoles nor sympathize. He refuses to lengthen the misery you’re in by giving words of comfort by saying ‘It’s okay,’ because hell, it is not okay, and you’re in this unfortunate predicament, so what are you going to do about it?

“Should I break up with him?” Eris asks.

“Are you mad?” Freddie almost spit out his drink, appalled at what the words that came out from Eris’ mouth. “Do you honestly think that loved up arse is going to let you break up with him? Not in this life, dear. Try again.”

Eris sighs. “Fred, if there’s anyone in this world who knows him just like I do, it’s you. And you know very well that his priority right now is his career—Queen’s career, to be exact. Not me, not this baby.”

“I’m very much aware, yes.” Freddie nods casually. He adjusts himself in the couch comfortably and takes a sip. “But I’m also sure of the fact that if Queen is his priority right now, then you’re the most important person in his life, not just right now; since you were kids, since we all met in Kensington Market, yesterday, today, and for the rest of his life, unquestionably. He loves you, Eris. More than anything in this world. He’d do anything for you.”

“That’s the thing, Fred,” Eris exhales, fingers fumbling on the glass. “I know he would. And I don’t want him to. He’s come a long way to be where he is right now. I’m not messing it up.”

Freddie stares at Eris skeptically and much longer than usual, not a sound coming out from his mouth. He raises an eyebrow, finishing his second glass this evening.

“What are you planning to do, Eris Gray?” Voice accusing, Freddie folds his arms under his chest and patiently waited, hoping it’s not what he was thinking.

Seconds turned to minutes. The deafening silence wasn’t helping either. For a moment, Eris held her breath, thinking long and hard of this decision she was making. She was not one for impulsiveness, but this was the only solution she could think of, just so Roger could continue with Queen without any distractions.

“I haven’t told this to anyone yet…” Eris briefly closed her eyes, leaning against the couch before blurting it out. “I’m planning to study in the states while Rog works on his music with you guys. I was supposed to tell him tonight, but… this happened, and I think, maybe, this is better for the both of us, you know? Maybe it’s good that we part ways so he could focus more on his career and Queen.”

Freddie kept still for a while. Obviously, he wasn’t delighted with what he was hearing. “Right, so what are you saying?”

Eris sat quietly, not responding. Freddie furrows his eyebrows together, seeking answers before realizing what Eris is planning to do.

“You’re not leaving without telling him… are you?”

Again, Eris gives him no reply. She clasps her hands together and and held them against her lips, not daring to look at Freddie who was starting to have a headache.

“Eris…”

Eris purses her lips together and interrupts him. “I will tell him eventually, but not now.”

Freddie lets himself fall to the couch, dramatically sighing. He puts his arm against his forehead and shakes his head. “God, you’re going to kill him. He’s going to be crushed.”

Eris blinks her tears away before moving closer to Freddie. She reaches to his hand and grips on it. “Please take care of him.”

Freddie rolls his eyes. “You two are a handful, you know that?”

Eris giggles while tears sprung from her eyes, probably the third time this night. God, how much she’s going to miss Freddie, Brian, and John. But nothing aches more than knowing she won’t see Roger, her best friend, soulmate, the love of her life, in a very long time.

Author’s Note: Yes, yes, before anyone says anything, I am aware that yet again I have Honoka pushing for a µ’s reunion. However, I did make mention of this fact as early as when I wrote HtHaN 3. In the world of HtHaN, Honoka is one of the main driving forces behind keeping µ’s together after disbandment. Not that anyone in the group particularly wants to drift apart, but as someone who has personally lost touch with old friends due to time, distance and life situations, I know how quickly a year or two can go by before realizing that you haven’t so much as sent a txt to someone. As such I fully intend to continue using these reunions as plot devices when I need them. ^_^

“Yeah… Sorry…”

“Don’t worry about it! What’s the occasion this time?”

“A µ’s reunion?”

“Yeah.”

“So, don’t you need something more… idol-like for that?”

“Oh no, no, no. We’re not performing. We usually wear normal clothes. But this time, Eli wants it to be something like a group date, I guess.”

“Aahhh, I see. Well, I have just the thing!”

“Ughn…” Maki groaned as a shaft of light fell across her face.

She moved her hand up to cover her eyes before opening them, but it did nothing to block the throbbing pain in her head. Why… pain…? Her thoughts were blurred as she rolled onto her back in an attempt to escape the evil light.

Oh, that’s right… the reuption… reum… re-something-or-other… the party thing. What did Kotori call it? The big group date? No… wasn’t it Umi that called it that? Not like it matters… it still hurts… why does it hurt?

Water…

Russian for water…

Oh gods…

Her eyes snapped open for a second, only for her to squeeze them shut again as the light blinded her. She had challenged Eli to a drinking contest! Why in the nine circles of hell did she think that was a good idea? Hell circles… which one was for pride? Fourth? No… there wasn’t really one for pride. But there was one for gluttony. The third one…? The one with the icy rain. That’s where she was now, the third circle of Hell, designed to punish the gluttonous. Not like it matters… real water was what she needed now. Though if she could drink the rain, that wouldn’t be too bad…

Is this what a hangover feels like? No wonder Nico looked horrible those times… Ughn… Maki dreaded seeing herself in the mirror as she realized what she must look like now.

A sound from beside her caught her attention so she slowly turned towards it. Nico-chan?

Mere centimeters away, Maki’s girlfriend of only a few days murmured quietly in her sleep. Why was Nico in her dorm room? Why was she wearing Maki’s old workout shirt? Not that she minded, of course. Nico looked rather adorable in the worn and faded grey tee-shirt with its stretched collar just barely slipping off her shoulder. Her hair was down, though was it down last night? Maki couldn’t remember.

As much as Maki wanted to just lay there and watch Nico sleep for another hour or so, the throbbing in her head increased for a moment and reminded her to address her hangover symptoms. Rolling back over, slowly, in an effort to minimize a growing sense of nausea, she blinked when her gaze fell on two bottles on her nightstand. Leaning against them was a small, pink note Maki recognized as being from a stationary set Nico had given her recently.

Maki-chan,

If you wake up before me, make sure to drink one of these. The sports drink will help replenish your electrolytes but water is the most important so you can just drink that if you prefer. If you think you can keep it down, you may also want to take the ibuprofen. There’s a bucket on the floor in case you need it, but don’t be afraid to wake me up if you need help getting to the bathroom.

Nico-nii

Maki felt a smile tug at the edge of her mouth as she wondered how many times Nico had to do something like this for Nozomi or Eli.

Sitting up caused a wave of nausea to wash over her and made her briefly consider reaching for the bucket. However, as she closed her eyes and steadied herself, it slowly passed.

“Maki-chan?” a groggy voice asked from behind her.

“Nnn…” was all that came out of Maki’s mouth as she reached for the sports drink.

“How ya feeling?”

“Mhph…”

“Sounds about right.” Nico chuckled as she crawled over to sit beside her girlfriend.

“Ni…?!” Maki felt blood rush to her cheeks as her gaze fell on the other girl’s bare legs hanging off the side of the bed. She swallowed and attempted to find her voice. “I… I have actual sleep shirts, you know.” She managed to force out.

“Yeah, but I like this one.” The raven-haired girl placed a hand on the pink star. “It brings back memories. It’s nostalgic.”

It’s also too short… The redhead diverted her eyes.

Nico noticed the gesture and laughed before hopping off the bed. “Oh, come on, Maki-chan!” She said, turning to face the other girl. “It’s nothing you haven’t seen before when we changed in the club room.”

“Yeah, but…”

“Oh, for crying out loud, we’re going out now. This much is normal.” She put a hand on her hip. “I mean seriously, you’ve seen what Nozomi and Eli wear around our place. Well, more Nozomi than Eli, but…”

“But that’s different…”

“Oh?”

“I’m not dating them. I’m not attra…” Maki mumbled the rest while looking away again and blushing furiously.

Attra… oh. Oh! Nico’s eyes widened with the realization and she felt a little heat rise to her own cheeks. Despite the mild embarrassment, she also felt a swell of pride come with the reminder. Nico was quite capable of boosting her own ego, but it was nice to get a shot like that from someone she cared about.

And with pride and ego came the desire to tease. “Well if Maki-chan wants to see more of Nico, all she has to do is ask.” She smirked as she played with the hem of the shirt.

“T-that’s not…”

A knock sounded at the door. “Nishikino-san? Are you awake?” The RA’s muffled voice filtered through.

Maki’s head snapped around to stare wide-eyed at Nico for a second before the movement made her dizzy and forced her to brace herself or fall back onto the bed. “J-just a moment…” she croaked, though loud enough that it would be heard through the door. With her free hand, she motioned weakly to the dresser. “Third drawer. Pants.” She said quieter.

Nico took the hint, yanked open the drawer and grabbed the first thing she could get her hands on; a pair of red sweatpants. Huh, now it really looks like I’m wearing Maki-chan’s old outfit… I wonder if I could find the hat…

“Come in.” Maki called once the older girl was finally a bit more presentable.

“Ah, so you did stay, Yazawa-san.” The RA nodded toward the raven-haired girl as she stepped into the dorm room. “That’s good. I’m glad Nishikino-san had your support.” She turned to the redhead with a gentle smile. “You look a little better than when I saw you last. Are you feeling any better?”

“Maybe?” Maki replied, as she honestly didn’t remember how bad she felt before.

“Anyway, the fact that Yazawa-san stayed is the reason I’m here.” She produced a sheet of paper. “Technically, you’re supposed to have guests sign in before their stay. But, given the circumstances, if we just date this as though it was filled out yesterday, nobody but the three of us will know, and life will go on.”

“Th-thank you.”

“Don’t mention it.” The RA grinned as she held out the paper and a pen. “Now if you’ll just sign here.” Maki did as she was instructed. “And if you’ll do the same, Yazawa-san.” She handed the page to Nico. “And… if you’ll also sign here…”

A CD case entered Nico’s field of view. She blinked. It was the first single she had released after µ’s disbanded and she managed to scrape together a contract with a tiny production company willing work around her college schedule. While the discs had sold well enough to earn a spot in the top ten for a week or two, this was the first Nico had seen in the hands of a fan. An actual fan. Of Nico-nii.

“Yazawa-san?”

“Of course, of course Nico will sign that for you!” the idol couldn’t help letting a bit of her persona out. “Nico-nii is always happy to sign things for her beloved fans!”

The RA’s smile grew even more. “Thank you!” She said, taking back the case. “Would you be willing to sign my other singles, someday?”

“Of course.” Nico repeated.

“Awesome.” She turned back to Maki. “Holler if need anything, Nishikino-san.” She made her way to the door. “But it looks like you’re already in good hands.”

“She saw me last night?” Maki asked when the door closed.

“A lot of people saw you last night, Maki-chan.”

“Ughn…” the redhead collapsed onto the bed.

Nico laughed as she made her way over the lay beside her girlfriend. “Don’t worry about it too much. I think a lot of them are relieved to see that you’re not just some robot that does nothing but study, attend class and get top marks.”

“…”

“And I’m one of them.”

Maki pouted, earning more laughter from Nico.

“Ah, give it a few days, and most of them will forget. Hell, half of the people who saw you were drunk as well, or at least tipsy. College campus on a Saturday night; everyone is drunk.”

“How bad was I?”

“How much do you remember?”

“Ughn…” Maki draped an arm across her forehead. “I kind of remember having a drinking contest with Eli, but I don’t remember why we started or what made me think it was a good idea.”

Nico giggled.

“What?”

“You were arguing.”

“So?”

“About who was cuter; me or Nozomi.”

Maki groaned.

“And you lost, you jerk!” Nico poked the other girl in the side.

The redhead’s face scrunched in annoyance and she sucked in a breath, but didn’t move away as she feared doing so would have cause more dizziness.

“But I suppose it’s the thought that counts; drinking yourself into oblivion in honor of your girlfriend’s cuteness.” Nico snorted back more laughter. “So romantic.”

“I’m sorry…”

“Don’t worry about it.” Nico made a dismissive motion. “Honestly, you’re an easier drunk to deal with than either Eli or Nozomi.”

“Oh?”

“Oh yeah. Eli is fine at first, her tolerance is unbelievable, but then she starts getting grumpy and belligerent. Nozomi is all silly giggles until a certain threshold is crossed and she becomes apathetic about pretty much everything. She’ll just lie down in the middle of the apartment and stare at the wall for a half hour or more. She’s still conscious but she just doesn’t care enough to move anymore.”

“And me?”

“Well…”

“What?”

“You’re… really affectionate when you’re drunk.”

“What?!”

“You used to accuse me of being too clingy, back in the day, but I don’t think you can say that anymore after last night.”

“Oh gods…”

“Nozomi has pictures.”

“Oh gods…”

“So does Kotori.”

“Kill me now…”

“I think Anju does as well…”

Maki groaned yet again, though far more plaintive than before.

“Hey, I tried to make them delete them.”

“…”

“Or at least send them to me.”

“Nico-chan…”

“Want to see?”

“No.”

“But we look so cute together! Do you at least remember my dress?”

“Yes… and… you were right…”

“I was what?” Nico craned her neck towards Maki. “What was that?”

“It was cuter than what you wore on our first date.”

The raven-haired girl grinned.

“But the first dress was more beautiful, I think. It made you look more mature. I liked that as well.”

“So many compliments in such a short time.” Nico couldn’t help herself. “I’m about ready to ask what you did to my actual girlfriend.”

Maki sighed. “Anything else I should know about?”

“You may want to apologize to Tsubasa at some point.”

“Oh?”

“Yeah… you kind of accused her of trying to steal me away from you.”

“Seriously?”

“You also accused a bush of touching me inappropriately, despite the fact that you were the one who stumbled and pushed me into it.”

“…”

“I doubt you have to apologize to the bush though.”

“Please tell me that’s everything.”

“Pretty much. The rest was just your normal µ’s reunion.”

“A question.”

“Alright.”

“Why are we in my dorm? Wasn’t your apartment closer?”

“You kept insisting that you wanted to sleep in your bed.” Nico shrugged. “But there was no way I was going to drag your drunk ass all the way to your parents’ place, and I don’t even want to imagine how that would have played out if I did. I figured bringing you here might be enough to placate you because it kind of is your bed at the moment.”

“And did you… change my clothes?”

“I helped you change, if that’s what you mean. But again, nothing I haven’t seen before.” Just keep telling yourself that, Nico…

“…” Maki’s eyes fluttered shut for a moment.

“How you feeling now?”

“Like crap… But mostly tired.”

“Well another hour or two might help; certainly wouldn’t hurt.”

“Alright…”

“Yeah, but at least sleep properly.” Nico sat up. “Come on, get your legs back up here.” She reached over to help her girlfriend slide back into a more comfortable position. “Say, where’s your laptop?”

“You’re staying here?”

Nico grinned. “Of course. Why wouldn’t I?” She spotted the device in question. “Still using the same password?”

“Yeah…”

The raven-haired girl climbed back on the bed and sat with her back against the wall. She opened the computer and set it across her lap. “When you wake up, we’ll go get something to eat; something mild that you can hopefully keep down.”

“Alri…” Maki yawned. “Nico-chan…”

“Mmm?”

“Thank you.”

Nico reached over to pat her girlfriends head, but by the time her hand touched the red locks, the younger girl was fast asleep.

Author’s Note Continued: This scene was partly inspired by The Boondock Saints, in so far as I love the storytelling method of leading up to the action, skipping it and reconstructing it later. I may or or may not use this style again in the future, it kind of depends on what I think fits the intent of the scene; this one obviously being Maki trying to remember the events of the previous night. I may even come back to this one and add in more things for Nico to tell Maki about. Or, I may write a different scene with someone else reminding Maki of something embarrassing she did, then have Maki come back to question why Nico didn’t tell her first to prepare her.

Actually, as I typed that last sentence, I’m already getting ideas... Going to have to let that simmer on the back burner for a little while as I’m still kind of working on two other scenes and deities only know when I’ll finish those.

Sued for Auto Accident Above Insurance Limit in NJ?

One year ago my wife was taking our daughter to pre-school turning left out the end of our road in to traffic, this road has a speed limit of 35 mph. Traffic had to stop to let her cross the first lane since it was solid cars, vans and small trucks. As she approached half-way, before getting a good view of oncoming traffic, another car took off the front bumper. Note that the center line is interuppted at the cross-junction. The bumper was torn from the front of the car with damage more evident on the non-impact side of the car than where initially hit, hence my wife had not initiated a turn, just edging forward to see. The radiator was in-tact, but damaged, still mounted to the front of the car. I walked to the site with our other child and took my daughter home; she is fine and I took her to school but still talks of the incident today. My wife stayed at the incident, and was fine (no later issues) keeping real calm and cooperating with police. It took about 2 hrs with police debating which town the incident took place (middle of the road is the divide) and the other driver was concerned about getting home to take a pot off the stove, but seemed medically fine. The driver asked me and the police to drive them home to get the pot off the stove and used my wifes cell phone more than once. They also wanted to drive their car home and leave the scene with a flat tire at one point I presume to attend to the pot. No tickets were issued, no air bags deployed. The other car had a flat front left tire and side damage so the drivers door was stuck shut. Both cars were old, so written off. Over a year later we received a court summons from their attorney and we are being sued for $750,000. Our limit is $100,000 on insurance. The plaintiff is claiming herniated discs and loss of bowel control. We have a 2006 no money down mortgage, so total equity is very much in the red since our home value plummeted. I have no umbrella policy. I am sole income, but was owner of the car my wife was driving. My wife is stay-at-home mom. The remaining $650,000 would be a big problem. Interestingly, we heard that the other driver called our insurance and asked for a >100-fold lower amount of money to just go away! Our insurer recalls this very clearly and did not pay. Questions: Should I invest in an attorney to work with our insurers attorney to cover the $650K over our limit? Do we have any case given the car the other driver may have been in a rush (as all were aware of the pot on the stove), would have settled for far less, and in reported safety tests should avoid an obstacle at 55mph let alone at the speed limit of 35 mph? Their case, as I understand, is to actually prove my wife was negligent, she was just trying to see. Reality and the law are complicated I understand. Our insurer is looking in to the validity of their medical claims. I believe for spinal and neck injuries plaintiffs have to follow careful insurance approved treatment plans in NJ. I know that such a condition may not be permanent with curative surgery possible to release the nerves that may be causing the bowel issue. The plaintiff has claimed the injury as permanent, do they need to prove this? Should we ask experts? The plaintiff lives in our town and their house is on my running route every other day. I have not noted anything at all and plan to stay away from all other parties. Should I change my running route? Thanks for any advice. Our 30 day clock is ticking.""

Alright. I am in desperate need of some knowledge. I just graduated from high school and live in Idaho with my boyfriend and his parents. The house includes 2 parents, 3 kids under the age of eighteen and 2 adults that are exactly of the age of eighteen years (7 total). Month 6: 3/8/18

Its kind of hard to believe its already been half a year. After the first month my life just settled into a new normal and its been great. im actually starting to forget about the surgery now in a good way. I ran into a friend from college recently that i hadnt seen since before the surgery and it didnt even occur to me to bring it up. i was excited to see her and brought up a mutal interest because its something we bonded over. she was in a hurry or im sure she would have asked about the surgery, but its great that its not even on my mind anymore. i had heard other trans people talk about how post op they sometimes forget theyre trans because the dysphoria is gone. i didnt think i would ever get to that point but i did.

Last week, my coworkers and i did a work social at main event. i used to bowl with my family when i was younger (im not great, just bowled a lot) but i havent been bowling since surgery. i thought my bowling would be affected with my center of balance changing but it wasnt. i guess by now ive adjusted enough that ive just leanred to compensate for the difference no matter what i do.

At work, im back in the closet which is kind of a weird experience after being so open during the surgery process. I dont think anyone at work would be too much of a problem if i came out but we work with children and their parents so i decided it would be best to not tell anyone. i dont mind too much since im out in every other aspect of my life, but it is somehing that i have to think about around my coworkers.  

I am fairly certain two of my coworkers know though and theyve been great about it. The kids ask about my gender a lot and one coworker tells them to just focus on their work and another tells them it doesnt matter. When we went to the social, i carpooled with them. one of them was picked up after me and greeted us with “hey girls...guys...” The other person is a woman, so the correction was for my benifit. when we were setting things up the computer had a gendered thing for the animation stuff and the other coworker was putting in all our names. when she got to mine, she quietly asked me “male, female?” and had me choose. i was the only one she asked. so its great that even though im in the closet at work, two people know and are supportive however they can be. 

there actually is still a little skin tighness i didnt pay atrention to last update. its really only if im really stretching so usually i dont notice it. Im still getting a little nipple sensation every now and then. The other day they were itchy and today when i was riding my bike i could occasionally feel the shirt rub against my nipples. Its hard to tell if that was the area around the graft or the nipple itself still, but i think it was the nipple. The scar has faded a lot in some places but is still pretty red in others. for the most part its flattened put but there is still some folds and raised areas. Im still wearing the silicone tape and putting on scar gel but otherwise things are healing really well. 

In about three months i go back to the surgeon for a follow up. since not much is happening anymore, i probably wont post again until then.

Today Was The Day

No one ever tells you what rock bottom is or how it feels, because everyones rock bottom is different. A feeling and situation you cant escape no matter what exit strategy you think of. Im laying in bed, wearing the same outfit i had on yesterday minus my pants and bra. Im so hungry and weak, i feel like i could pass out. This is probably because im 9 weeks pregnant and the only thing ive eaten today is a bowl of lumpy malt o meal.  i stumbled into the kitchen half awake to make this about 4 hours ago when i felt so sick i thought i was going to throw up my baby. Ive cried 5 times already and its barely 1:30, with an hour long nap between when i woke up to now. My eyelashes are stuck together, and when i pull them apart i feel a salty residue on my fingers. I havent showered or brushed my teeth and im not sure ill even get to that point today. The most ive accomplished on this fine day is counting the number of sticky tac marks on the ceiling of my room from the previous owners of this apartment. I imagine they had a kid with those glow in the dark stars to look at before their precious child fell into sleep. My boyfriend has been nothing but patient and helpful since we found out im pregnant. Unfortunately ive managed to push him away so far because i cant stand the thought of someone seeing me failing miserably. Classic Lauren, disappearing when i dont have an answer for everything. I cant help but think that today, i realized im at my rock bottom.

                Finding out im pregnant has been one of the hardest things by far, ive ever gone through. Im 21 in an 8 month relationship, so its not the worst of situations. But i definitely wasnt ready. I was one of those people that swore they werent going to have kids until later on in their life.When i took the test by myself in a Tom Thumb bathroom, i cried in the stall for about 5 minutes while a lady occupied the one next to me. That shit was positive after about 3 seconds, no wait time, i was definitely pregnant. When i told my boyfriend, i was sure we would just get an abortion and move on with our lives. But by the end of our car ride, both of us couldnt see that as an option anymore. I did not want my first pregnancy to be a casualty caused by me. The first thing i did though, was call my mom and ask if i should keep the baby or not. Wrong thing to do, because anyone you ask will say its not their decision. I know because i asked 3 people very close to me, and i didnt get one solid answer. It was completely up to me.This decision was so intense and life changing either way i wanted to go. If i kept the baby, everything drastically changed and i would have someone that would look to me for the rest of my life with no breaks or time to myself. But if i didnt keep the baby, i didnt know if i would ever forgive myself for killing my first child. Im already a pretty emotionally deep person, and the thought of having a death on my shoulders made my heart so heavy. Especially since my reasons werent very good reasons to not keep the baby. I want to travel, I want to smoke and drink with friends, i dont want the responsibility yet. At this point i had been living on my own for years, bought cars on my own, had a full time job, and lived enough lifetimes for about 7 people. It was a selfish decision in my eyes, to say no to a child… my child. And so I became a mom.

                    The downfall since finding out is a pretty steep ass fall. My relationship has caved in and i lost my full time job! Fuck yeah to being pregnant and jobless. I had told one of my managers i was pregnant but i didnt want anyone to know. Well somehow all the other managers found out and i honest to God believe that they fired me for being pregnant. I had been working there for 2 and a half years. Never late, never written up, passed secret shops with a 100, never called in, came in when they needed help, had pretty close relationships with select managers, and i always did my job right. I made one single mistake. I got my first complaint, which every single employee there im sure has had complaints before, but this was my FIRST. The woman who fired me, reminds me of my dads girlfriend, which is probably why ive always been so stand offish with her. She sounds like her, like theyve sucked in too much helium and their voices will always be 8 octaves higher than it should be. And both are young, small white girls from small towns in Texas that no one has probably ever heard of. Weve all met a girl like this. I asked for understanding obviously, and tried to keep my job. But she was firm on the decision she had made. So i thanked her for the opportunity to work there and left. I texted my other managers and said i was glad to have met them and again thanked them for the opportunity as well. When i left, i thought i would be extremely hurt and upset. But i felt relieved… I had been working 50-70 hours a week there for over 2 years. I was burnt out and had contemplated finding a new job, but didnt because i was pregnant and thinking about money. But this just sped up the process. The only thing was i was not really prepared to get fired… I found a job the next day, but training was 2 weeks and this month my boyfriend and i were supposed to start a special savings fund for the baby and instead i would be 3 weeks without cash relying on my checkings and savings for my bills for the month. He said he would pay my bills, and i could take some time off to rest and figure things out. Which was very sweet. The only problem was that he lost his job 2 days later. So we were both jobless and expecting. Which put a strain on our relationship.

                         I didnt hold it against him. I had just been fired too. But bills were screaming at me, stresses of the baby were screaming at me, 2 weeks with no income was screaming at me. And i started pushing. I wanted to be alone and cry and feel sorry for myself. I wanted to figure my life out without anyone seeing me as a failure. Especially my partner. So i did what my job had done to me. Waited for something small to happen to cut things off so i could be alone and deal with my sorry ass life by myself. It wasnt justified. And i cant believe im hurting him for my own selfish problems. But im stressed the fuck out and i have no clue what the hell im doing right now. Everything in my life has been so sure. Job, bills paid on time, plan for the future, who i am. And now, i cant even get out of bed to eat a meal. How did this happen so fast and so drastically? Every decision i make im thinking of the baby inside of me. And right now, i think im a shit mom who needs to get it together before i really damage my life and my baby’s life. What does family look like to me? What is parenting? Maternity insurance? Delivery? Announcing my pregnancy? Its all unknown to me. So here i am, writing a blog of how im gonna make this work and do this for my kid. Hopefully what i learn along the way can be helpful to any other woman who is going through my same struggle. But for right now, im just as clueless as the rest of you....
