“Y/N!” Jack bellowed as he made his way across campus to meet you in front of the cafeteria. Grimm barely batted a whisker as he raced the crowd in order to get the last ham and cheese toast - the latest delicacy available - and forgot all about you. You ended up being the last person standing at the entrance of the building as you watched Jack dash across the cobble stones.
“Jack? Weren’t you meeting up with Ruggie for lunch?” You smiled at him, silently delighted because of his enthusiasm.
Jack’s ears flattened slightly and a sheepish grin crept onto his features, “Actually, no…,” he explained, “Ruggie actually snuck into the kitchens and already had his fill of lunch before our last class was even done.”
You snickered, unable to find that surprising. The two of you walked into the cafeteria together, finding a table along the windows. The white haired boy insisted on getting the two of you lunch, and before you knew it you were sharing grilled cheese sandwiches and lemonade. This had become somewhat of a ritual, the two of you spending time together during lunch and during study sessions, and the comfort that naturally came with being around Jack was slowly becoming a sensation that you looked forward to every day, though it was hard to express this to NRC’s most dense jock.
After classes ended that day, however, Jack waited for you outside of the classroom. You frowned, a little confused as you noticed he looked as if he was mulling something over.
“You okay?”
It took Jack a second, but then he nodded, “Do you have some time before you need to head back to Ramshackle? I want to show you something. Something I’m proud of. Something I… made.”
The confusion on your face went nowhere - if anything, you were getting a little nervous as well. “Of course, whatever you need, Jack. Where are we going?”
“The greenhouse.”
The two of you made your way over to the greenhouse, the beautiful building feeling a little damp and hot after the sun had beamed onto the glass the entire day. Jack led you towards the back, where you took a seat. Jack stepped up to the wooden table at the far end, near the window, and placed his hands firmly on top of it.
“I never thought I would be able to take care of something so fragile, Y/N,” he murmured, seemingly more serious than you’d ever experienced him being. You let him continue, your heart pounding with the uncertainty of what was happening. “At first I assumed I could never take this type of responsibility. I mean, you know me - I would be so disappointed in myself if I took something like this on and made a fool of myself, or made a fool of them. I couldn’t bear the thought of caring for a living creature and then just… letting them down.”
By now you were really starting to panic. Exactly what - or who - was Jack taking care of?
Jack turned around and leaned back against the wooden tabletop. “But, you know what? I persevered, and I can proudly say I’m rather good at what I’ve accomplished so far. They-- God, Y/N, they are really thriving.”
“Jack,” you choked out, your voice quivering with anxiety now, “Who is thriving? What’s going on? Jack, who are you taking care of?”
Jack smiled, “My pups, of course.”
You spluttered, not knowing how to react to the idea of Jack having children. “P-Pups? Jack, how long has this been going on?”
The boy frowned, not quite understanding why you weren’t joining in on his enthusiasm. “I mean-- I’ve only had them for a couple of months, really. I didn’t want to say much about it in case I fucked it up and had them dying on me, you know?”
Something inside of you snapped. Dying on him? How was this guy being so nonchalant over the survival of his children? How had you been crushing on someone who had a secret life in this way? “I just-- I have so many questions,” you groaned, “What about their mother?”
Jack pouted then, his eyes widening, “What do you mean? I’m their mother, of course!” He sighed, turning around and grabbing the pot with his creations. The cactus that came into view had two little cactus pups snuggled up to the main cactus. “I’m honestly a little disappointed in you, Y/N…” he murmured, “I thought you of all people would be excited to meet my pups. You were going on and on about cacti all of last year, I really assumed you’d be proud of me.”
It took you a whole minute to catch your breath after you burst into a fit of laughter, a grin so wide spreading across your face that it started aching soon after it bloomed. You stood up and beamed at Jack, joining him at the table and taking the pot into your hands. “Jack, look at what you did! You idiot, I thought you were about to confess to me about having children.”
Jack frowned, “Children? Y/N, I’m sixteen years old. I can barely take care of Ruggie, let alone an actual child!”
The two of you stood there, amused for what seemed like ages. The sun was setting as you and Jack spent some time prepping new pots for the pups, already promising to dedicate the next weekend’s free time to repotting the new cacti.
You washed your hands off the dirt, shaking the water droplets off your fingertips before you turned around, suddenly facing Jack who wore his usual adoring smile.
“Thank you, Y/N. And again, I’m so sorry for confusing you, before.”
You shook your head, “That’s alright, Jack. You can confuse me anyday.”
Jack shot you a knowing smile, and suddenly you couldn’t help but look forward to Saturday morning.

TW First year students x fem! MC who's secretly a demon princess, who will they react to her powers when they found her in her demon form?
First Years + DemonPrincess!MC
I had fun with this prompt in general, and I hope I made some fun scenarios that you like!
Warnings: Bullying from other students and hurtful words, Epel is censored because Vil doesn't allow it
Sebek Zigvolt
He forgot to give you back your notebook from class, so he had to go in the evening
If Sebek remembered correctly, in his 'I'm A Good Boyfriend' notebook, you said you usually rested in the evening
"YN, I'm here to deliver your notebook!-"
"Go away Sebek!"
He was appalled. You've never scolded him in such a way before!
He quickly fished out his notebook, and he flipped to a page where Lilia had lectured him on what to do when you were feeling down
"Here it is…" He muttered
He barged in your door, breaking down the rickety door, "YN! I am here to comfort you!"
"S-Sebek?!"
He almost dropped the notebook. He was surprised at you appearance, as he saw horns on your head, as well as tattoos on your skin that he's never seen before
"YN… You're…"
You sighed. "Yes Sebek, I'm a dem-"
"You're a Fae! Like me!"
Before he got too excited, you settled him down and explained your appearance
He felt ashamed of himself for his initial behaviour when you explained that you were a princess. He doesn't really mind that you're a demon, in fact, he understands you more as people of his world usually misunderstands Fae-kind
In general, he's quite amazed anytime you demonstrate your powers
He lowkey wants to see you and Waka-sama have a showdown with magic, but his heart knows it'd hurt to see you in danger
Ace Trappola
He got held back by Professor Crewel due to some argument he got in with Grim
He asked around if anyone else saw you, but much to his shock, he found you surrounded by some other students. Again
He wanted to pummel their faces in, but now looking at you, you seemed calm…
In the blink of an eye, a net of dark magic appeared underneath the students, trapping them at their ankles
Ace had his mouth open as horns and wings similar to the colour of your hair started growing from you. What freaked him out more was that the wings weren't made of feathers… They looked ripped apart and made of the same magic he couldn't identify
"A-Ace!"
Upon seeing your boyfriend, you flung the students away into the Garden with your magic. Someone would find them later…
"U-Um… This…" You got embarrassed, feeling shy in your demon form
"THAT WAS SO COOL!"
Ace then pestered you to tell him where you learnt such magic, although he might've accidentally grabbed your horns the wrong way
He listened carefully, since it caused you such discomfort when he touched your horns
He didn't think you'd be a princess…
"Wait… Does this mean you have a demon father?"
You nodded your head. "But my brother's the Demon King at the moment… Why?"
"I need to mentally prepare myself if your demon family want to kill me since I want to propose to you after graduation…"
Deuce Spade
You and Deuce were nervous, since it was a magical mana exam. It would dictate certain classes you'd be able to take next semester…
You were the last to go, and your boyfriend cheerfully waved at you as he gave a thumbs up. He must've passed the test…
You had to remind yourself to control your mana, otherwise you'd have some explaining to do
As you let the teacher examine you, you couldn't help but notice that there was some kind of barrier around the orb you were practicing with
As you removed the barrier, you realised that it was a trap by the teacher!...
You couldn't help but pour your normal amount of magic into the orb, which, put on a show around the students as they marvelled at the dark magic
"Well," Principal Crowley announced, after you were done with your examination. "You'd best be coming with me."
After a long talk with Crowley, you were surprised that Deuce and Grim were at the door, eavesdropping at your conversation
"I overheard… I was worried about you…" He admitted
Deuce however, was quite curious about your appearance, so after his and your dinner, you allowed him to see you shift into your demon form
He did ask if it hurt, to which you shook your head
He admired your wings and your bigger, claw-like hands as you felt heat in your cheeks by the way he was intensely staring at you
"Y-You're adorable…"
Even though you towered Deuce's height in your demon form, it didn't stop him from giving you your usual goodnight kiss on the forehead
Jack Howl
He always wanted to show off his skills to you, so he invited you to a practice match against the Diasomnia dorm
He was against the first years of the dorm, so you silently cheered for Jack
As you were continuously impressed by Jack's speed, you couldn't help but notice a strand of magic tagged on him…
Your magical vision traced it to one of the students on the opposite team, who was passively reciting a spell to jinx Jack's next move
There was only the seniors… So it should be fine to stop that student this once…
You were too slow, as the spell had already whizzed through the field. You could still stop it from hitting Jack!...
You felt everyone's gaze on you as you interrupted the spell. Knowing that your appearance had changed, you shied away
Some students ran away, but Jack didn't. He picked you up, horns, feathers and demonic body parts, all of it and embraced you
"Hey! Stop looking at my girlfriend like she's a monster!" He growled
The seniors quickly punished the student causing tricks on the field, but some were still weary of you
Jack put you down, kissing your forehead. "Thank you precious for saving me there."
Eventually, you had to explain to the teachers what you were
Some dorm leaders grew afraid of you, but Jack didn't care. You were still his precious girlfriend
So what if you both were seen as monsters? He thought. The big bad wolf and the terrifying demon princess could live in peace and quiet, in their own space in the forest…
Jack thinks the whole thing is cool, but he is a little jealous that your magical abilities are so much better than his. You tell him he makes up for it in his physical strength
Epel Felmier
You and Epel were taking a stroll, on the way to the field for the MagiShift club
You promised to cheer him on, and you decided it would be a cheeky way to take some photos with your Ghost Camera
You comfortably sat next to Jack as you got ready to take some photos
Unfortunately, you weren't sure of the exact details, but a student decided it was a perfect opportunity to set off a prank near you and Jack
You weren't exactly in control of your own powers, so the impact caused you to scream and lose control of your appearance
The other students screamed in turned, seeing a 'monster' transform in front of them
Epel saw the prank beforehand, but he couldn't run fast enough to get to you
He couldn't think straight, he just had to make sure you were alright. So when he overheard the students yelling at you, he threatened them
Everyone was freaking out at your changing body, since your skin had different markings, almost like carvings etched into it and a pool of dark magic flooded below you
"I-I'm sorry I-" You tried to apologise, but others constantly berated you
"She's a freak! Someone seal her away!"
Epel couldn't stop himself from whacking the student who said that on the head
The other seniors managed to calm the students down, sending them away
You briefly explained everything to Epel, repeating your apologies to him
"Don't aplogise YN. Those idiots don't understand."
Epel, in all honesty, didn't care if you were a demon princess or a human or a fairy
Whoever got in the way of your relationship on the other hand, he'd pick a fight with them even though you were the one who could easily clean the fight up
"Hey YN, don't listen to em. They don't know how cool you are. As long as I'm the one you love, I'm okay with anything."

One Little Coyote
Tumblr media
Words: 2k
Pairing:  Hyunjin x Reader
Genre: Fluff, some angst
Rating: PG
Warnings: nightmare scene, some arguing, mentions of cigarettes and smoking
A/N; I’m super proud of how this turned out! I’m sorry if it seems rushed, but I thought this was a cute and interesting concept. Banner credits to @oobin
If the morning sun wasn’t hot enough, then the afternoon sun certainly was. Heat waves could easily be seen rising up from the dark pavement the gray Subaru traveled on. Hyunjin carefully drove himself and Y/N across the desert, even though it was mostly barren despite the occasional car that passed them in the opposite direction. The two had been on the road since eight, and it was now nearing twelve-thirty as Y/N’s stomach began to rumble.
“Are you that hungry?” Hyunjin giggled.
“Hey, you’re the one who insisted on just having granola bars instead of eggs like I suggested,” Y/N shot back.
“I know, I should’ve set the alarm for earlier.” Hyunjin rolled his eyes behind his round, dark-lense sunglasses.
Y/N sighed. “No, I should’ve just grabbed an apple.”
“Baby, we’re almost to a gas station. We’ll stop there and grab a bite to eat.”
For whatever reason, the two seemed to be arguing about something with every other conversation they had since waking up that morning. Was it because one of them slept bad? Did Hyunjin get irritated at her for some reason? Or was Y/N just hangry? They hated fighting with each other, but they couldn’t seem to get along for the first leg of their journey. The heat could be a factor in both of them butting heads, but the air was on full blast.
Y/N stared down at her twiddling her thumbs as the song changed to an old AC/DC tune, and Hyunjin glanced over at her. He felt bad for using a sharp tone at her. For months, the two had been planning a road trip from the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas; but he felt terrible for being in such a crabby mood.
Taking her hand, he laced his fingers through hers and kissed the back of it.
“Why the sudden change in behavior?” she asked with a raised brow.
“I’m sorry,” he apologized as they pulled into the gas station.
“Can we talk about this later? I just want to get some food before my stomach starts speaking in tongues.”
Before Hyunjin could respond, Y/N was already out of the car and beelined for the restaurant in the convenience store.
The gas station had only three other vehicles parked there: a motorcycle on the side of the building, a beat up brown truck at a pump, and a dark minivan at another. Heat from the sun was beating down in the surrounding area, but Hyunjin was protected under some shade at the gas pump he paid at. A snake slithered by, but it didn’t bother him. A rugged looking man exited the building and pulled a brand new pack of cigarettes and lit one up before entering the truck and pulling out, but not before giving Hyunjin a nod of acknowledgement.
When the tank was filled, Hyunjin took his receipt, parked in another spot, and locked the car before meeting his girlfriend inside. Y/N was sitting in a gray booth with an order of two burgers and large fries with two large drinks. She hadn’t touched any of the food on the tray, which she always did when she paid for food if she were traveling with anyone. Hyunjin was about to open his mouth to protest how he should have been the one to purchase the food, but he was done arguing with the love of his life.
“This looks delicious, baby,” he smiled and kissed her head before sitting in the seat across from her.
“I made sure to not get pickles in yours,” she replied.
“You know me too well.”
Once Hyunjin tied his long hair back, he and Y/N began their lunch; and she was thankful they didn’t fight while they filled their bellies with a meal.
“Just think,” Hyunjin smiled slyly, “by tomorrow afternoon we’ll be entering Vegas. The desert and heat will be a distant memory as we feast on delicious food, swim in an indoor pool, and get cozy.”
Y/N chuckled at his attempt at being smooth with his words, which in turn caused him to laugh as well.
“We can’t forget seeing all of the cool shows and counting the slot machines in each casino,” she added. “But I’m happy to just be with you for a few days, even if we don’t get to party like millionaires.”
Hyunjin scoffed. “Who needs wealth when I’m already a rich man just having the most beautiful woman in the world with me?”
“You’re cheesy, dude; but I like cheese.”
“I know,” her boyfriend replied with a wink.
As soon as they finished their meal, the two were back on the road, the surrounding desert brightened more by the afternoon sun. For about two hours, the two drive in mostly silence. The only noises around them were the radio, which would go static in some areas, and the wind outside. A few animals passed by in the sand and among the vegetation, but it was mostly snakes and rabbits.
“Babe,” Hyunjin said after a while, “about me apologizing earlier, I didn’t sleep well last night and woke up this morning in a bad mood. I hate fighting with you, and I was trying to make it up to you.”
He couldn’t exactly look at her as he was driving, but he could see out of the corner of his eye she was half smiling as he spoke.
“I’m sorry, too,” she lightly sighed. “I shouldn’t have snapped back at you. I didn’t know.”
“It’s not your fault. The bed at the motel was too uncomfortable.”
“Hopefully, the hotel bed is much better.”
“It’s Vegas! It has to be.”
A truce was formed during their own little comedy hour, and Hyunjin was happy he was able to make it all up with his girl. Like most couples, they had their arguments some days, but Hyunjin could never stay angry with Y/N, nor could she with him. The last thing either of them wanted to do was hurt the other person, and they both knew words were impactful. Only once had they insulted each other where it hurt the most that they wouldn’t speak to each other for a week until they both cooled off and talked it over.
“I wonder where the coyotes are,” Y/N spoke up as she looked out the window.
“They’re out there,” her boyfriend replied as he glanced around the sandy plains. “We won’t be going anywhere near them, but we’re approaching a bunch of rock formations and hills in a while.”
“Maybe we’ll hear them when we camp.”
“Maybe.”
“And that one little coyote howling at the moon,” Y/N sang with a giggle.
As if on cue, the radio song switched to the exact song. It was a genie wishing her song request.
“Fitting.”
-
The night air was too quiet for Y/N, except for the coyote’s howling at the full moon every couple of seconds. Moonlight illuminated the inside of the car, and she couldn’t fall back asleep anymore. The windows were still cracked open a little to allow air to circulate, but there was no wind blowing. Y/N hated how silent it was, and the coyote’s weren’t exactly singing lullabies to her. Sitting up, she looked over to where Hyunjin was, but he was gone. His blanket remained there, but the man himself had vanished.
Maybe he just had to go pee somewhere, she thought. However, the closest gas station was miles behind them. There was no way he would have walked that far just for a bathroom with a way to protect himself. The possibility of him just finding a small bush to do his business seemed logical, and since it was dark out, anyone who passed by probably wouldn’t see him.
Against her better judgement, Y/N decided to step out and see if her boyfriend was okay. Climbing over the seats, she reached one of the passenger doors and unlocked it. Once she stumbled out of the car, she shut the door and made her way to the back. The little fire pit used to cook their hot dogs was missing, and there was no sign that anyone had made a stop there. Nothing but dry mud and weeds. The air was also freezing, but Y/N didn’t want to go back to the car until her boyfriend was found.
“Hyunjin?” Y/N called in a whisper. No answer. She called for him across the other side of the main road, but still no reply.
“Babe, this isn’t funny!” she called as she turned around to see if he was messing with her.
To her horror, the Subaru was now gone. She didn’t hear the engine turn on, no tire tracks were left, nothing. It was as if it vanished into thin air. Turning back again, the road was gone too. What was going on?
Coyote howls grew louder, and Y/N was starting to panic. Small feet scampered by her, but not a humans’ footsteps. She pulled out her phone light and looked down. A row of jack rabbits were racing by her towards the rock formations, so she decided to follow them to try to find help. She took about six steps before a branch seemingly wrapped around her ankle and tripped her, cutting into the flesh.
“Don’t panic,” YN told herself. “It’s just a bush. You can get out of this.”
However, once she sat up, whatever was holding her had let go and disappeared. It left behind her ankle bleeding, but she had no means of treating it. She could still walk on it, so she kept going.
A few snakes, poisonous ones, slithered by, hissing at her as she walked. It was as if they were threatening her to turn back or else they’ll attack and sink their venomous fangs into her.
“As I rode my pony across the Western plain,” she sang sobbed, not realizing she had been crying. “We stopped and heard a sweet and sad refrain. It filled the sundown skies with a lonesome tune. It was one little coyote howling at the moon.”
RIght at that moment, howling broke the eerie silence from behind her. When Y/N turned around, two red glowing eyes were staring at her. It was a terrible, hungry look, and a deep throaty growl sent shivers down her back. Before she could even blink, teeth flashed in front of her as if the creature attempted to eat her face off.
Y/N screamed as she felt her life ending right there.
“Baby, wake up!” a familiar voice cried out.
Opening her eyes, Y/N realized she was back in the car but in a cold sweat. It was somewhat dark out, but the sky was just barely rising by the deep purple sky fading into pink.
“Jinnie!” Y/N sobbed as she pulled her boyfriend in for a hug.
“What happened?”
Once she caught her breath, she realized everything she had seen and experienced was all a nightmare.
“Bad dream?” Hyunjin guessed as dried her head with a blanket.
“Yeah,” she sighed. She explained everything in detail to him, even checking her ankle for the injury she had sustained. To her relief, there was no cut.
“I’m so sorry you had such an awful nightmare,” Hyunjin kissed her forehead. “I forget how you have bad nightmares one the first night of a camping trip.”
“I’ll be okay,” Y/N promised. “What time is it?”
Hyunjin looked through the suitcases for some fresh clothes. “6:30 in the morning. I was awake because I got too hot in here. It wasn’t long before you screamed awake.”
“I’m sorry if I scared you.”
“No, no. Don’t be sorry. It was only a dream.”
After tying his hair up to keep himself cool, Hyunjin brought Y/N closer to him and cuddled her for a while. Whenever she had a bad dream, it always comforted her to be held or snuggled until she calmed down. His heartbeat was the main composer of her calming, and she loved how warm he felt when he embraced her.
In the distance, a coyote howled.
“He won’t hurt you, my love,” Hyunjin reassured as he held Y/N tighter. “It’s just one little coyote.”

@spnkinkbingo – purgatory! Dean
Warnings!!! MATURE 18+ READERS ONLY!!! Smut, angst, language etc…
Summary: Dean’s in purgatory, and in trouble…but from the monsters or his own heart? Written from Dean’s POV.
Tumblr media
Jesus, the monsters were never ending! I’d lost track of Benny, but managed somehow to stay alive. There was no rest, no time to relax. Just hiding, running, fighting. I was tired, but I couldn’t give up. I had to find a way back home, back to Cas, back to Sam.
I didn’t hear the damn leviathan come up behind me, but he wasted no time in trying to tear me apart. I barely managed to avoid the teeth, squirming constantly in a vain attempt to get myself out of his powerful grip. I could feel my ribs begin to bruise, they were close to breaking, but he was so strong, and I was tired.
Just as I begin to lose consciousness, she came out of nowhere, ramming into the huge monster, knocking all of us to the ground. The leviathan scum focused on the new threat, his growl menacing, trying to scare her. But she stood and stared him down. He charged. She evaded. He charged once more, she grabbed his arm as she sidestepped, and ripped it right off it’s body. The creature howled in pain, mixing with the anger he felt as he attempted once again to attack. She easily avoided his charge, then did a quick turn around, thin blade in hand, and decapitated the creature.
I did a double take. This was too good to be true. A hot chick, and I mean H.O.T!!! Even with pain in my chest from the ribs, my dick was more than willing to test her features. But, after watching her fight and take that thing down, I was hesitant. While she cleaned her blade (it was one hell of a blade by the way), I pulled a flask of holy water from my jacket and poured some on my hand.
She reached out to help me up, and I accepted the offer, first using the regular hand. She was way stronger than a human, there was no strain at all as she helped me to my feet.
“Thanks for the assist.” I managed, holding my torso.
“No problem. I was in the neighbourhood.”
My cock twitched. Her voice was something out of a fantasy dream. Soft, pliable, sweet like honey.
Fuck!!
“I’m Dean.” I said, holding out the test hand, the one with the ‘water’.
She reached to grab it. “YN.”
A hiss escaped her lips as her hand made contact with the holy water. “Fuck!” She jerked her hand back and looked at the blistered palm.
My saviour was a freakin’ vamp.
I raised my blade. “Why did you help me?”
She sheathed her katana. “Easy. I’m not looking to kill you. I might be a vampire, but I didn’t choose this life. I hate what I am. I kill these freaks here for fun. And I’ve never killed a human.”
I raised a brow. “Ever drank blood?”
“Only the occasional lycanthrope. I hate the taste. I drink only when I find my energy is low.”
“Huh.”
If she was lying, she was doing a damn good job of it. I believed her. And it wasn’t just because I thought she was hot.
Leaves crunching broke the awkward silence. “We should move. I know a place where we can hide out.” She motioned me to follow her, and since the options were rather low, I went.
My ribs were aching something fierce, but I kept the pace, knowing the dangers we could potentially run in to. By the time we got to her safe location, I was all but wheezing. I was sure one of the ribs were cracked, possibly more.
She saw my discomfort as we entered the shelter. “I need to look at your ribcage, and bind them. You need to rest.”
I gave her a sideways glance. “I suppose you’re a doctor?”
She nodded. “Yes, actually. Before I was turned, I was an emergency doctor.” When I didn’t move right away, she added, “I promise I won’t hurt or bite you.”
I sighed carefully and nodded. She helped me remove my jacket and shirt, then examined my torso. I looked down at the bruising. It was bad. I winced as she felt them, checking for breaks. The last one made me actually grunt and pull away.
“This one is definitely cracked Dean. Wait here, I’ll grab something to bind them.”
I wasn’t going to argue. Truthfully, it felt good to sit, although I was pretty sure sleep would be non existent. Purgatory didn’t have any pharmacy stores. So I was shit out of luck for Tylenol. She came back with some ripped up blankets and did my ribcage up nice and tight.
She helped me lay down, removing my boots for me. Then she went and grabbed me some food. It wasn’t overly lavish, but it was filling. I tried to relax, ignore the pain, but it was really bad. Then, as if hearing my ribs screaming, YN produced a bottle of T3’s, and a bottle of Jack. I looked at her in awe, and she only shrugged.
“I was on my way home from the store when I got sent here.”
I took two of the pills, and a long swig of the whiskey. The burn felt good. “Thanks.”
YN smiled. “Your welcome.”
“I’ll make a deal with you. We’ll help each other for now. You watch my back, I watch yours. But if you turn against me or try to bite me, I end you.”
Nodding, she agreed. “That’s fair.”
She moved to her makeshift couch to lay down, and I hated the idea that she’d be sleeping on that piece of shit. “You could lay here beside me. There’s plenty of room.”
YN looked over at me. “You trust me not to hurt you?”
I nodded. “If you really wanted to, you’d have done so already. So, yeah, I trust you.”
She came over to where I was lying down and joined me. I tried again to close my eyes, desperately willing my body to relax. The whiskey/Tylenol mix was starting to kick in, taking off some of the edge, but it still hurt like a son of a bitch.
“You ok?” she asked.
“Yeah, just waiting for the drugs and alcohol to kick in.”
She laughed. “That’s probably not a good combo, but I’m not judging.”
I chuckled, and grimaced. “YN? Thanks again. I would have been monster chow if you hadn’t shown up.”
She leaned in and kissed my cheek. “Your welcome.”
I stiffened at the gesture. She immediately apologized. “Oh my god, I’m sorry.”
Shaking my head, I replied, “No worries. No harm done.”
My body moved on it’s own then, turning gently on my side to face her, then my hands pulled her close, lips seeking another kiss. She responded, moaning into the lip lock, hands roaming over my stomach, lightly grazing my torso. She stroked the hard bulge in my jeans, and it was my turn to groan. I went onto my back once more as she removed her clothes, then my jeans and shorts. She straddled my groin, and my hand guided my throbbing erection to her waiting entrance. She sank slowly onto my shaft, and I swore I’d gone to heaven.
She was so tight, but man it felt good. She took my entire length, adjusting to my girth, her walls stretching to accommodate. I would have sworn she was a virgin.
She rocked her hips back and forth, doing the majority of the work while I enjoyed the benefits. There was mild protest from my ribcage, but it was slowly dulling, drowned out by the beautiful goddess riding me like a stallion. We climaxed together, her cries and mine mixing in the air.
I slept then, and woke feeling somewhat better. YN was already up, and had some more food waiting for me. I ate after she helped me sit up, then we made love once more before dressing.
I never thought I’d ever go near a vamp for anything other than to kill it, but she was different. If her story was to be believed, she wasn’t given a choice about it, and hated herself because of it. We ventured out with caution, making sure there were no unwanted visitors. We needed to find some firewood and some more food for me.
Our hike was interrupted by footsteps. YN pulled me down behind a large boulder covered by moss and bushes, and we held our breath, waiting for whatever it was to pass by.
It was Cas.
YN tried to stop me, but I went anyways. “Cas!” I yelled.
Cas turned. “Dean, thank heaven. Sam and I have been worried sick. Are you ok?” he asked as he embraced me. His senses didn’t miss the grunt of pain as he hugged my ribs. “You’re hurt.”
“Mostly bruised, one is cracked I think.”
Cas put his hand over my chest area, dispersing healing angelic light from his palms. YN stood in awe. “What is he?”
Her question had me back on the reality train. “Sorry, Cas, this is YN. She helped me bandage my ribs up. YN, this is Castiel. He’s an Angel.”
Cas went to shake her hand, but she hesitated. I explained. “She’s not human Cas. She’s a vampire.”
An angel blade appeared instantly, Cas’s body taking a defensive position. “Relax. She’s ok. She helped me. I promised to take her back with us.”
Castiel lowered his blade but not his guard. “Dean, it could be a trick.”
I nodded. “True, but she’s had plenty of opportunity to turn against me, yet she’s kept her word about not attacking me. I already had a talk with her about what happens if she does.”
The angel mildly relaxed and stowed the blade for future use. “I have an open rift for us to get out of here. YN, you can come as well, but any betrayal…”
She finished the sentence, “I know, will be the end of my existence. Trust me, I have no intention of hurting anyone, least of all Dean.”
We began walking briskly toward the rift, home. Then we heard company behind us, and not the friendly kind. This wasn’t Mr. Roger’s Neighbourhood. We took off running, and got about 10 feet from the rift before they caught up with us. I unsheathed my blade, and watched as Cas and YN did the same. The three of us stood back to back, while the rift floated like a vision just mere feet away.
There were a lot of them, all kinds, shapes and sizes. And they weren’t here for tea. We began slicing and stabbing what we could, all while keeping an eye on the way out. It began fizzing and sputtering shortly after, and we knew it was closing.
“You and Castiel have to go! I’ll hold them off!”
I shook my head. “No! You’re coming too!” I yelled back.
“Dean don’t be a stubborn ass! I’m not even human! I’m a monster for fuck sake! You have a life, a purpose! Don’t fucking throw it away because of me! Let me help!”
The rift fizzled again. “C’mon Dean. We have to move!”
Cas pulled my arm as I took one last look back at YN. She yanked a large werewolf back by the scruff of the neck, tossing him far from the shimmering opening. I could hear myself calling her name as I was dragged through before it closed. She looked back once more, smiling, then horror replaced the smile as a group of leviathans took huge chunks from her side.
I couldn’t get her off my mind. I’d only known her for a day, but it felt like a lifetime. She will always be in my heart. My YN.

1000 years ago
She proceeds cautiously into the moss-lined cave, not out of fear, but because she knows there are traps set in place to keep out intruders. She is no outsider, but has only been here three times in her life; once when she was born, once on her 10th birthday, and once when her heat came early and triggered a power growth beyond normal limits. She was an Omega, but stronger, and with gifts others did not possess.
The light from her Nana’s fire lit the rest of the way, down the damp passageways, to the clearing where the elder sat. She was meditating when the young Omega approached, so she knelt in front of her Nana and waited.
“My child, you have come to me because of your dream.” The older woman said plainly.
The girl nodded. “My unborn daughter had the dream, and she shared it with me. Now she grows restless. My line’s future is shrouded in darkness. Is my child to be the last of my line?”
Nana shook her head. “No love, but she has indeed glimpsed the future. One thousand years from now, your descendent will be faced with an impossible choice. She will bear the mark of the Shaman, and will be more powerful than you or I. She will be an Omega, strong and brave. She will meet an equally strong Alpha, her soulmate, and will mate with him, however, she must never reveal who she is or what she is. If that information is brought to light, it could mean the end for both of them, and the end of your line, unless she can find the one solution to save them.”
The young woman gasped. “And you can’t say what that solution is, can you? Nana, how will she know what to do?”
Nana placed her hand over her grandchild’s hand. “She will find the knowledge and strength if she trusts herself, and accepts the answer when it presents itself to her, and it won’t matter if she knows what it is for. To refuse will forfeit everything she knows and loves.”
And the young Omega who came searching for answers, exited the cave more confused than when she had entered. She gently rubbed her rounded belly, whispering soothing words to her unborn pup.
Present day:
YN stared at the screen full of birthday wishes, then came across the one her mother had sent. With that particular e-card came a reminder that tonight was her passage ceremony. YN peeked out her window, and watched people getting ready for work or school, and sighed, wishing she was a normal human. But, as all women before her, she was a powerful Omega, possessing gifts that were passed down through the generations. She wasn’t looking forward to the ceremony, mostly because something had appeared on her right wrist last night, something that worried her greatly. She bore the Mark of the Shaman.
Stories had passed through her line about the prophecy, and YN prayed it wouldn’t be her. While she was a natural at using and controlling her abilities, she dreaded the idea of having to face an impossible choice. Worse still, if she did take an Alpha as her mate, her gut feeling was pretty sure that impossible decision would involve him.
YN inwardly cringed. Even with her strength and courage, she hated choices where neither option was a good one, and usually involved heartbreak and/or death.
Oh well, too late to change, as much as she wished otherwise. FUCK! Everyone at the ceremony tonight would have a field day with her signum flaminis, especially her parents and brothers. There was no way in hell to hide the mark. YN sighed again and turned to her bed, where her ceremonial garments lay. The pure white silk gown, embellished with silver beading, was made by her mother, as was tradition, and was to be worn alone. In other words, no other garments, not even underwear, were allowed. The idea was purification, coming into her 18th year with no past or baggage to weigh her down.
The hours ticked by, and soon YN heard people gathering downstairs. In half an hour, her life would renew, and her newly discovered secret would be out. Part of her wanted to run, just change her name and disappear. The prophecy may still happen, but without the ritual, the whole thing could just blow up in every possible wrong direction, including, but not limited to, her death and the death of her entire line. And that would be worse than just facing the damn prophecy.
A soft knock at her door interrupted YN’s thoughts. “Honey? It’s almost time.” Her mother’s voice came from the other side.
“Intra Mater.” YN used Latin, a common practice among her tribe. (Mom’s name) walked in and frowned when she noticed the gown still on the bed. YN knew what was going to come out next, and rolled her eyes at her mom. “I was just getting ready to put it on.”
Her mother smiled and moved to help YN as she began to undress, sliding the smooth fabric over her head and her body. After, YN sat down and allowed her mother to brush her hair, the silky strands falling loosely down her back. Another knock sounded to signal that the ceremony was about to begin. Escorted by her mother, YN slowly made her way downstairs to the large parlor filled with family. At the front of the group was a decorated arch, and there her grandmother stood, ready to bless YN’s journey to adulthood.
The scent of sandalwood filled the room as the crowd began to quiet down, and the Elder woman began to speak in Latin.
“Aspergetur ex hac in illam intrat adulta iuvenis Omega.” (Purify this young Omega as she enters her adulthood.)
“Cor, mens, corpus, anima, amare.” (heart, mind, body, soul, love)
Then YN turned to face the witnesses who were her blood. Her grandmother spoke once more.
“My child, you now enter your 18th year new and protected.”
YN nodded. “I accept the new life given to me.” Then she lifted her sleeve to reveal her secret. “However, last night I was given a gift of a different kind. Behold!”
Whispers and shocked faces lined the crowd.
“Signum Flaminis!”
“The Mark of the Shaman!”
Her mother and father were in shock as well, the two rushing forward, wanting nothing more than to comfort their child. YN held up her hand to stop them, and silence filled the room as all eyes turned to her.
“It is true. I bear the prophetic mark. While this is not what I would have chosen for myself, I shall honor the responsibility and honor all of you.”
Later, after all the fuss had died down, and the celebration was over, YN sat and relaxed in her favorite nook, a bay window in her upstairs study. It had a seated area, comfy cushions, and a fantastic view of the park. She loved to read there, or just sit and think, it was the one place she could truly be herself without any repercussions. She thought about the day, the ceremony, and she felt really good about how things went. Her pulse was racing, she was so energized and not even close to tired. Besides, there was something nagging her, trying to lure her outside, no, more like she needed to.
Not sure what to expect, YN took the basics in a small backpack and headed out. A light mist had begun to fall, and it shrouded the neighbourhood in a semi-dense fog. Great. A shiver ran up her spine, and her mark began to glow. As she stopped and looked at her surroundings, she swore she saw movement in the forest, heading toward the lake, near the outskirts of town.
Taking a deep breath, she trudged down the steps of the building and silently crossed the street. Using her heightened senses, she moved quickly and quietly through the woods, following the footsteps she heard in the distance. As she got closer to whatever was making the noise, she heard shouting and howling, prompting her feet to move faster, silence be damned. Just as she entered the clearing, an overwhelming Alpha scent nearly knocked her over. And whoever he was, he was badly injured…he was dying.
YN stopped short at the sight that greeted her in the grassy field. Two vampires were closing on two men, no, two Alphas, and only one of them was still standing. Two dust piles just off to the left of the remaining adversaries, told YN that these two Alphas were good at this, but right now they needed help, and she had the ability to give that assistance.
Directing her energy to the two remaining enemies, she held out her hand. “Igneus imber!”
White hot flame shot down from the heavens and engulfed the two bloodsuckers, leaving everything else untouched. Then she ran over to the two Alphas, falling to her knees and flinging off her backpack so she could check for injuries. The unharmed Alpha’s green eyes were brimming with tears as he held the dying one. Wasting no time, she laid her hands on the injured Alpha’s chest and chanted in Latin.
“Sanitatem. Purifient. Sanitatem.”
The mark burned white, and her hands shone as the wounds began to heal. Blood pools vanished, his skin returned to normal color, and within minutes, the tall Alpha had regained consciousness. She stood back and watched as the two embraced. They were brothers, judging by their scent. The one with the green eyes stood, helped his brother up, then turned to YN, offering his hand in thanks.
“I don’t know how, but you saved my brother’s life. Thank you. I’m Dean, and this is my brother Sam.”
YN took the hand that was offered. “YN, and I’m glad I was able to help. Even a minute later, and it could have been too late.” As she spoke, she glanced over at Sam, whose hazel eyes hadn’t left her since he woke. Then she watched the hazel change to gold, and felt hers change as well. Dean could only stare as the two stood facing each other.
“Omega! Maritus!”
YN’s jaw dropped to the ground. “Alpha! Maritus! Soulmate!”
Sam took her in his arms and said, “I tandem invenite. Quidnam esset visio quam habet umbris inquietari somnis.”
Then his lips were on hers, their bodies clinging to each other as the kiss deepened, hands wrapped around each other.
When the lip lock finally ceased, they just stared at each other, both trying to process what had just happened. YN was just as shocked as Sam, but her expression held a frown.
“How did you…wait, did you just say you saw me in your dreams?”
Sam’s eyebrows shot up. “Is that what I said? I don’t even speak Latin except for exorcizing demons and reciting spells.”
YN pursed her lips together. “Actually, you said ‘I have finally found you. The vision that has haunted my dreams.’.”
Dean chose that moment to interrupt, taking note that both still had gold eyes. “So…what the heck just happened? Sammy? What’s going on?”
Sam looked over at his older brother, his cheeks turning pink. “I’d been having these weird dreams for about a week now. I didn’t say anything mostly because they were, um…” he cleared his throat as his pink cheeks turned beet red, “well…not for public discussion.”
YN giggled at the look on Dean’s face, then at her newly labeled soulmate’s state of embarrassment. She felt her own face grow warm under his gaze, as the hidden content of his dreams became clear to her.
Then the unthinkable happened, something neither Alpha nor Omega expected.
YN felt off, feverish, and it came suddenly, without warning. No, impossible…it wasn’t due for another two weeks! The herbal supplements had stopped working! She looked over at the two Alphas, both of whom had stopped laughing, and their expressions confirmed her deduction.
Her heat had come early.
Then she caught a whiff of something strong, it was euphoric, like walking into a bakery, all the sweet treats filling the air with mouth watering smells. The scent triggered her cramping, and she doubled over as the pain shot through her like a freight train. Sam had gone into rut, and it was unlike any she’d ever seen anyone experience, not even her father or brothers had that strong of a rut.
Sam radiated Alpha, and he was looking at YN like he was starving, and she was his next meal. Her panties grew damp as her mind painted rather erotic pictures of Sam taking her, his hard cock pounding into her, his knot filling her. Her cramps intensified, and she let out a cry of distress.
Sam turned to his brother. “Leave Dean. Now! Keep watch for other people.”
Dean opened his mouth to protest, but the looks exchanged between Sam and YN had him turning around and doing guard duty. Hell, if it wasn’t for Jo, he’d probably be fighting Sam for YN. Her essence was like wildflowers and honey, or fresh baked apple pie. God he really wished Jo was here right now. Focus Dean! Focus! Protect your brother and his Omega!
Sam reached for YN as soon as she was close, his lips crushing hers as his tongue pushed its way inside her mouth, seeking its mate. YN complied, the need so intense, nothing else mattered. Hands were removing clothing faster than lightning, then Sam was lifting YN up, her legs instinctively wrapping around his waist, and his glistening tip began pushing inside her slick. His cock bathed in her juices as he made his way inside, slowly so as not to hurt her. YN moaned as he filled her, ignoring the minor discomfort as pleasure took over.
Sam stopped momentarily, allowing her time to adjust, then he began to move. His large hands grabbed her thighs as he pushed her against a tree, pounding his hard shaft into her. YN’s first orgasm hit hard, her screams covered by his feverish kisses, and his growl as she clenched around him.
“Omega. I’m going knot you, then I’m gonna fill your belly with pups.” He whispered in her ear as he nipped along her neck. YN arched her head back as his mouth left her skin on fire.
“Alpha!” she exclaimed. Damn it all! Her body clenched around him as she came again. Sam reached his hand between them, seeking out her most sensitive bud, his thumb rubbing light circles around it. YN felt like she was exploding as she was swept overboard by another ripple of orgasmic bliss.
Dean, meanwhile, was trying desperately to ignore the moans and grunts, when he sensed danger. His senses on high alert, he quietly slipped through the trees, following the scent of two Alphas, and they were closing in on the clearing. They went two different directions, which was fine with Dean, he liked a challenge. He grinned, grateful for the distraction as he closed in on Alpha #1. He wasn’t going to kill them, just give them a nice nap. This one was young, not very bulky, so he presented as an easy target. He was out like a light in seconds.
The second, however, would prove more challenging. It didn’t seem difficult at first. Alpha #2 wasn’t much different than the first, though definitely older. Still younger than Dean by some years, but he was bulkier than the first had been, and that proved to be the kicker. Dean snuck up easily, but when he put the sleeper hold on, one of his specialities, the other turned and threw Dean against a tree. Dean growled as anger surfaced, and the second Alpha bared his teeth.
“Stay out of my way. This doesn’t concern you.”
Dean blinked in response, his eyes never leaving his target. “The hell it doesn’t. Walk away now, before you lose the ability to do so.”
It was the dark-haired Alpha’s turn to be surprised. “Look, I get it. She probably smells like heaven, but it isn’t happening. She’s coming home where she’ll be safe. So, last warning stud, BACK OFF!”
Dean’s voice echoed through the woods with laughter. “I ain’t gunning for her attention. Hell, I got me a fine Omega at home. What I am doing, though, is protecting the clearing from trespassers.”
The other Alpha raised a brow. “Trespassers eh? Well, since that’s my baby sister in there, you’re the trespasser.”
Dean ran his fingers through his hair. “Shit.” He muttered.
The sounds of erotic moans and screams had both men taking off toward the clearing, just in time to witness Sam knotting YN against the nearest birch.
“WHAT THE FUCK?!” YN’s brother’s eyes went red. “I’m gonna kill you! You just made a huge mistake.”
YN’s head shot around Sam’s and came face to face with her older brother. But before anything was said, she heard movement behind them.
FUCK!
“Sam, turn around! NOW!”
He did, and, as she suspected, her other sibling was charging. She raised her palm toward her twin. “VENTUS!”
