i’ve uve been within like a 2 mile radius of me in the past 2 months, you’ll know how much ‘next to normal’ has affected and impacted my life. i can’t help but recommend it to anyone in my direct vicinity haha. it really is that good. that’s why i’m so sad that it’s closing this saturday. if u can catch it before it ends, i can’t recommend it more. but i really just wanna take a minute to appreciate the beautiful artistry that has gone into this production. i know the uk/europe theatre community has been waiting for this show to come here for a long time and although it’s not for me to say, i’d guess it’s probably been worth the wait. everything from the lighting, to the set design, every minuscule acting choice has been carefully curated. it’s a joy to witness this art piece and be moved by it so intensely. 2024 still this always be ‘the summer of next to normal’ for me and i can’t wait to see what every cast and creative goes on to do next (and pray that it gets a broadway transfer, a US audience gets to appreciate it and it gets the tony awards it deserves!)

Vi rereads Elfquest, SaBM #3

I get that an all black with white lines cover just wouldn't sell, but I've always hated this cover.

Skywise, you shouldn't have brought Aroree into the holt, and Cutter, maybe have some belief that people can change.

I love Ember showing her early leadership skills here. I also love Choplicker swiping at a frog.

And I've also always loved the future Suntop image.

I really wish we got to know the Jackwolfriders better. They seemed interesting.

Also, according to Savah, there's 12 of them, aside from Dart? I did a thing once, like I did for the Chosen Eight, where I tried to figure out who was who, for these guys. I'm estimating at least 15 if not upwards of 18 people counting at a Jackwolfrider. One more if Newstar counts as one, since she does join the group later on for their trip, but that's iffy.

Also also, is Dart's bond wolf a jackwolf? Did he get his wolf after Ember?

I just love the idea of Ember calling Strongbow a coward.

I really did like Dart's hair back when it just looked windswept and slightly unwashed rather than the wing hair he has now.

"The winged ones think, and in a manner, feel." Leetah. Leetah why are you being mean to the Preservers? You know they can get hurt, even if they are resiliant, and you know that they can be happy or mad or sad, so why is it "in a manner, feel?"

Timmain couldn't figure out who your father was, but Egg could, I guess. (I know it was supposed to be an inult and not truth, but dang. Interesting in hindsight.)

Also, I like Kahvi's outlook on kids. At least in this respect. Not so much in some others.

Seven Sentence Sunday

If he just acts like it is normal, if he just acts like he gets to have this with Henry all of the time then maybe Henry will not mind enough to let it become standard. To make it something that is every day as opposed to a fantasy that Alex dreams up long after the orgasms and jokes have passed. When it is dark outside and all that can be heard is the rush of the city and the occasional ambulance, and Alex is left with his pounding thoughts, a heavy staccato against his skull, a meandering rhythm that is never even, never sure footed, and never aware of just how much it hurts.
