Painted some Jakals after having a great time painting Angron! I now have contempt in my heart for the humble Jakal. By the end of the painting of them I was like “oh I hate this,” and quarter assed my way through the metallics and wash process. Does not help the skin tone contrast paints from GW did not take well, I used 3 and they all came out similar except for one which came out entirely different. I don’t care they’re chaff model, if there is something to not care about it’s them.

I will probably take a break from painting my World Eaters though. In my quiet annoyance paintings Jakals and staring at my one set of Eightbound, I realized Angron and my Maulerfiend where the only WE models I REALLY like. Eightbound are boring and Zerkers are cool but not inspiring, so the realization all I have to paint are like 40 Berzerkers made me miserable.

So I’ll make myself miserable by painting my Ad Mech instead. Can’t wait to choose an awful color like yellow or orange to love for them. I have like 3k points of them as my first army I started, none of its painted since I couldn’t find a color scheme I liked, but I can’t leave them unpainted forever so we experiment this week.

Lighting in my room is awful, it’s too late for me to care about that, not for Jakals they don’t deserve it

Finally, the truth about Gwen Stacy and the second Spider-Man came out into the open. Professor Miles Warren was The Jakal, and he had genetically engineered Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy clones. I stopped him, but a bomb exploded, killing both my clone and Prof. Warren.

Gwen left, leaving behind the city and it's people that believed her dead, to start anew somewhere else.

As for my clone, I don't know why I just tossed the body down that chimney. I was in a state of shock. I couldn't think of anything else to do with it and I couldn't just let the police find it.

Cerita bang herri tentang pembully-an waktu kelas 3 SD mengingatkan saya pada celetukan rekan kerja yang ternyata teman sekelas Bang Herri di SMP. Katanya dulu Bang Herri anaknya aktif banget, suka berantem dan tawuran, gak nyangka sekarang jadi primus alias pria mushola. Hehe, keren banget perubahannya. Kudos!

Lho, sekarang saya mah jadi “pripi” atau “pria berkopi”. Setahunan ini saya hampir tiap malam di Kopken Jakal atas atau bawah membaca dan mengetik untuk menyelesaikan salah satu target hidup persiapan babak baru usia. Masa-masa musala itu ada di fase 20 tahun pertama hidup, pas SMA dan kuliah. 20 tahun berikutnya dunianya berbeda, tapi masjid masih jadi tempat favorit. Dulu, fase 20 tahun pertama saya berani bilang kalau nyari saya itu bisa di tiga tempat: masjid, Gramedia, atau gunung. Kalau sekarang nyarinya di tempat perkopian aja—meski belakangan saya lebih sering pesan matcha.

Pun, sebenarnya saya tidak merasa berubah karena saya adalah rangkaian dari masa lalu dan masa sekarang. Saya yang sekarang adalah saya yang dulu, begitu juga sebaliknya. Sebab saya tidak mau mendikotomi diri sendiri dengan “saya yang dulu” dengan “saya yang sekarang”. Saya adalah kesatuan waktu yang tak terpisahkan.
