While creating “Learn the Whole Song” Allison Forrest embroidered the first stanza of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Lift every voice and sing Till earth and heaven ring Ring with the harmonies of liberty Let our rejoicing rise High as the listening skies Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.” -James Weldon Johnson. The entire piece, and other art, poetry, photography and more can be seen throughout the 2021 art show, "Expanding Voices.” Reception on July 29; 3-5.
