BLOG#1: I MET JASMINE CURTIS❤ (March 10, 2017)

I used to think that celebrities are hard to reach and impossible to meet at my age. (I’m 17 yrs old btw) Why? Simply because I’m a type of a girl who is genuinely focused on my acads like literally MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE. I actually feel like I am committed to school not unless I graduate on college.

But then one day, my friend messaged me on Facebook to invite me to watch a movie with her. I was confused at first when she said “Hey let’s watch Baka Bukas” I pictured my face was surrounded by several question marks that time. 🙈 She told me to watch the trailer on YouTube which I did as soon as possible and that was the beginning of everything...

I was in awe after watching the trailer and agreed to her invitation afterwards. Being a bisexual is not acceptable to my country because most of people here are homophobic and I just don’t want to jeopardize my relationship with my family by coming out without thinking about the negative effects of it not just for me but for the rest of them as well. Thus, I don’t think this is the right time for me to come out. I will do that tho. Not just yet.

On March 3, 2017 me and my friend watched Baka Bukas for the first time. I really really really want to watch it after I had seen the trailer and I AM GENUINELY IMPRESSED. From the production, scripts, actors and other things they did in the movie just to make it successful. Preach! 👏

Two days after watching Baka Bukas I suddenly don’t know how to get over it. I feel like Alex’s story has something to do with my life. I can feel the sorrow she felt when she broke up with Jess. Then I thought, “Ugh, I really need to watch the movie again.” I feel so attach to that movie until I found myself asking my friend if we could watch the movie again. Lucky for me because apparently, she was stuck too.

We’ve decided to watch the movie again on March 10, 2017. We set the date and time since our class was adjusted on a shortened period that day so no worries….that’s what we thought.

On March 9, 2017 my professor on Statistics and Probability informed me that I am going to take an Achievement Test because I am a consistent achiever since first semester. He said that all achievers need to take that exam so they can finish the certificates for Recognition Day on time. He told me that I should meet him the next day after class. Which is 10th day of March. I have no other choice but to cancel my plan with my friend. I got home a bit sad because I will not be able to watch Baka Bukas for the second time.

I spend the rest of the day reviewing my concept notes for the exam. After I finished reviewing I’ve decided to check my twitter account and just scroll lazily on my feed. I was shock when Jasmine Curtis tweeted that she’s going to watch Baka Bukas tomorrow night at SM North Edsa. The exact same place where we are suppose to watch it as well! I was like..“What the heck! Why do my exam need to get in the way?!“😭

When my friend find out that Jasmine will be there she wasted no time for us not to go. We both want to go so bad! I’m thankful that Jasmine decided to watch the movie on 8:50PM which means we still have a lot of time even though I have to take an Achievement Test after class.

The achievement test got canceled the next day which fueled my excitement even more. I did all my schoolworks when I get home from school and I finished doing it at around 6 in the evening. We still have time to go to the cinema, yes.

I have overcome the struggle to convince my mother to let me get out on a Friday night. (thanks to my brother and my dear friend who contributed a huge effort to pick me up from the house)

Living at Manila area radiates either happiness and frustration to me because I have to endure heavy traffic during rush hours. However I am thankful that we made it to the cinema before the official time of the movie.

I sat there with my friend anxiously knowing that I’m going to meet Jasmine Curtis within an hour and a half. The movie started and that took my mind off things for awhile. It feels wonderful to watch it for the second time I have no regrets like for the record, I was able to blurted out some iconic lines from the movie that brings so much joy to me. Eventually the credits showed up (I took that as a sign that Jasmine will show up any moment now) the lights flickered open and then we saw Jasmine from the distance waving. She says, “Thank you so much guys!” The people inside the cinema started to chimed, some walk towards her to ask for a picture. I didn’t waste time so I told to my friend that we should come closer to her and that’s what we did. We decided to sit few steps away from Jas for the mean time because she was surrounded by a bunch of people. I got her signed on the back portion of my phone yay!!! My friend can’t even move from where we stood but I couldn’t blame her God I was starstruck to her beauty, too. She looks so pretty wearing a yellow shirt, black jeans and adidas shoes. Simple outfit suits a lot to her and I just can’t explain my feeling that time seeing her right infront of me felt like a dream come true.

There’s still a lot of people following Jasmine even outside the cinema and I admit we are one of those people. We saw Kate Alejandrino that plays a role of Kate as Alex’s (Jasmine) Ex-Girlfriend in the movie she’s with her real life boyfriend Steven Silva. They are so kind and lovely we had a picture with them and we couldn’t be grateful enough to them.

Also, I got a picture with Jasmine and although my hand was literally shaking while holding the camera I still make it and I am so happy about it! ❤

Me and my friend got home with a huge smile written all over our faces and I’m aware that the people we walk passed by are starting to think we’re crazy but we couldn’t care less because WE MET OUR FAVES!!! That was one of the best night in my life so I called it “A Night To Remember” ✨💖💖💖
