No Upside Down steddie AU where Steve gradually meets the members of Hellfire (-Eddie) in and out of school and they all come to befriending him really fast because “Steve Harrington is actually a good dude”
But Eddie fucking hates it.
And this only spurs Hellfire on because they think him getting mad over Steve Harrington is fucking hilarious.
Jeff who takes a foods class in third period and Steve does to and then the teacher pairs them for a baking project and Jeff gets to go to Casa Harrington. And he realizes rather quickly that Steve really likes baking and cooking and actually knows what he’s doing and that he’s not just taking the class for an easy A.
Brian (I’ve named him Brian, yes), meets Steve in Art class. Like Jeff, he thought Steve was taking it for an easy A but when seats are changed and they sit together he realizes that, no, Steve’s actually kind of good at drawing (particularly scenery). They get to talking about one of Steve’s sketches and the rest is history.
Gareth doesn’t officially meet Steve until later, but he does see him out with the kids at the arcade. Gareth works at the arcade and there’s this particular group of kids that just irks him— turns out they’re Steve’s gaggle. He watches in begrudging amusement while Steve rounds them up like a pro.
Then Gareth officially meets him after Hellfire one day. It’s fucking windy and he’s just leaving to school to go home when the papers and sheets he was holding are fucking torn from his hands. Steve grabs the papers— there after some kind of sports practice— and makes sure Gareth has them secured in his bad before leaving with a dorky finger-waggle wave.
And Eddie just downright refuses.
And then the school year ends and Steve graduates. And he’s convinced he doesn’t have to see Steve again.
Until, of course, Mike Dustin and Lucas join.
Jeff, Gareth, and Brian are all ecstatic to share their own run-ins of Steve Harrington to the three boys who so clearly idolize him. Gareth happily recalls how Steve “tamed” them in the arcade every time he came in.
Eddie sits in brooding silence.
And then Lucas joins the basketball team. And sure— Jeff’s on the volleyball team— but basketball jocks are so much worse than volleyball jocks.
Mike and Dustin, however thrown out of orbit they were at first, seem to settle in eventually and learn to plan around it. They think that anything that makes Lucas happy is a good thing (even if it did take a bit of a talk with Will for them to realize).
But Eddie? Eddie can’t stand it.
Which is why he refuses to move the date for the final campaign.
But Eddie doesn’t even get to introduce Vecna before Steve Harrington himself is all but breaking down the fucking door.
Eddie has this whole argument in his head that quickly dwindles when he sees the pure anger in Steve’s eyes (and also because Steve is really fucking pretty holy shit).
Steve tells Dustin Mike and Erica to pack up and get to the game before he drags them and you know what?
They listen.
Including hard ass Erica Sinclair.
And then idk Steve and Eddie get into a whole fight about.
But Steve makes it very clear that he doesn’t appreciate Eddie making Lucas feel like he can’t be happy doing DnD and basketball because that poor boy deserves nice things dammit.
And Eddie sleeps on it over the weekend before hunting Lucas down first thing Monday morning to apologize.
Lucas forgive Eddie (against Eddie’s protest because let the man grovel) but makes Eddie also apologize to Steve.
Which Eddie does by showing up to the Harrington Estate.
Eddie apologizes and they get high together and the rest is history.
.
I might actually make this into something, it’s already pretty fleshed out but eh

I’ve seen fics where Eddie sees Steve post-season 2, all sad and pathetic after his fall down the social ladder, and then Hellfire adopted him. They’re perfect. No notes. Ten of out ten. I will read every single one of them.
However.
It is very funny if Steve adopts the Hellfire Club as his new friend group. They have no choice in the matter.
The only good thing going on in his life right now is that Dustin has decided that he’s cool. Steve doesn’t want that to change so he’s going to have to learn a few things because he never knows what the hell Dustin is talking about.
So, “You guys know nerd shit, right?”
Hellfire blink at him.
“You do. Good,” Steve continues, pointing out the Starfleet ensigna on Grant’s jacket. He sits in Eddie’s seat like, “Have you heard of this board game called Demons and Dragons?”
They blink at him again and share looks with each other that say that this is a hell of a day for Eddie to be absent. Jeff is the only one brave enough to say, “It’s uh…it’s Dungeons and Dragons.”
“Oh,” Steve says, flipping his notebook open and writing that down. “Sweet. What else?”
Eddie comes back to school two days later still a little stuffy from his cold to find Steve “The Hair” Harrington in his seat, talking to his friends, making plans to watch Star Wars that weekend.
He’s just like, what the fuck.

In My Heart is a Memory (And There You'll Always Be) Part Two
Part One
Steve spends his week in the hospital on oxygen and fighting pneumonia from his bed. A harsh wheezing sound has developed whenever he pushes too hard but Doctor Sattler isn't nearly as concerned as Steve the first time he hears it.
"It shouldn't worsen over time, but if you feel that the wheezing is becoming more frequent or that feeling of an elephant sitting on your chest comes back, you will need to use your new inhaler, today's the perfect day to learn how it works," Doctor Sattler told him with an air of nonchalance that did not match the news.
Two and two made four, the sky was blue, and Steve Harrington would need medication for the rest of his life.
Most of the time Steve sleeps fitfully, dreaming of cold grey water and kind brown eyes, but on the days he has more energy Steve walks around the ward with Claudia in between practising blowing into something called a spirometer.
She tells him it's important to test his level of lung function and how he's improving, it should also help to reduce the wheezing sound when Steve is simply resting. He even gets one to take home with him.
Steve listens as Claudia talks about her own son, he's eight years old and so curious about the world. It's obvious she loves him dearly.
Steve wonders if his own mother ever talks about him like that.
His mother checks in with him twice during the week. His dad has already left for his most recent work trip and Diane is planning to leave as well, at least until Sunday when Steve is expected to be discharged.
“I’ll be gone for five days, but you’ll be here anyway, and they are taking good care of you aren’t they?” she asks, her voice uncharacteristically soft for once as she takes his cheek in her cold hand.
Diane’s fingers brush the oxygen hosing around his cheek, Claudia had called it something weird --a canny-something-or-other.
Diane lets go abruptly as if burned; her nose wrinkling slightly as she rubs her fingers against the palm of her hand. In one fluid motion, she stands up from her seat at the side of his bed and smooths down the blankets as she does so.
Diane meets his gaze once, her pale blue eyes almost seem to look past him, before she hikes her handbag further up her arm.
“I’m leaving the number of the hotel with your Nurse Henry, and you’ll be home before you know it,” she nods with a forced smile and turns on her heel to slip out the door of his room before Steve can even correct her.
He hopes Claudia did get the number, that there isn’t some strange Nurse Henry with more access to his mother than even Steve is allowed.
A small part of himself hopes that Eddie will come visit him.
It’s not likely, Eddie had seemed excited initially about showing him his Dungeons and Dragons book but how would he have any idea Steve would still be here.
That doesn't stop Steve from picturing Eddie yelling to his uncle as he bounds down the hallway, ‘Come on old man, Steve’s room’s gotta be here somewhere!’
But Eddie never materialises down the hall, armed with his players book or tales of dragons and knights.
Steve takes it in stride as much as he can.
The days blend together the longer he stays, but it isn't as though Steve has no one to talk to.
He asks Claudia more about her son and listens to the jokes the orderlies tell him when they come by with meals. Even Doctor Sattler stops by to check the machines by his bed and to watch him blow into the Spirometer.
It’s fine.
Claudia gives him a long hug the day he's discharged. Steve isn't sure she's supposed to by the exasperated look Doctor Sattler gives her, but he says nothing and busies himself with writing something out on a small notepad.
"You be careful sweetheart, use your spirometer to practice and keep your inhaler on you at all times".
She sweeps his hair away from his face and squeezes his shoulder briefly before giving him the barest of pushes towards his mother who stands by the door.
Doctor Sattler hands Diane the two papers he's written out, "you'll have to fill these prescriptions, he'll need both of them before you head home".
Diane nods and breathes out a clipped thank you before ushering Steve to the doors, he tries to turn to wave only for his mother to grip his shoulder firmly and walk him out.
He catches what he thinks may be concern in Claudia's eyes before the automatic doors close behind them and the familiar jingle of his mothers keys to the maroon beemer fills the air.
"We'll stop at Mevalds, you can wait in the car," Diane says as she opens the driver's side door and gets in. Steve hurriedly opens his own door as the engine starts, a small part of him wonders if she would leave him if he took any longer.
He closes the passenger door behind him, it's heavier than he remembers and a harsh wheeze fills the car as Steve breathes in slowly to halt the stuttering of his chest.
He buckles in and looks up to find his mother watching him carefully.
"Perhaps we should wait another week for you to go back to school," she hums, it's a voice she uses when thinking aloud but every instance of it usually happens when that thinking is about Steve.
"Why?" He asks as they pull onto the main road.
"You're making that awful noise," Diane says simply, "we should wait for it to stop, it will be distracting to your classmates".
A deep ache that has nothing to do with his lungs builds in his chest. He hadn't thought the sound was that noticeable.
None of the other nurses or orderlies seemed to care about the new noise he made, or if they did they never said anything. Steve had been the one to ask about it,  concerned that he was the only one hearing it.
"Doctor Sattler said it should get better, but it won't go away," Steve argues with narrowed eyes, he crosses his arms over his chest and looks away towards the passenger window.
He hears Diane sigh as she signals to pull into the parking lot of Mevalds.
She turns off the engine and reaches into the back seat for her purse, leaning her hand against Steve's seat for balance.
Diane stops with her hand on the door handle, pausing as she turns to face him fully.
"I'm just looking out for you," Diane says softly, "the other children will notice eventually and the world isn't kind to people who are different Steven".
She gets out of the car, letting the words hang in the air. He watches her go into the store, already knowing he's lost.
***
Steve's teachers welcome him back with little to no fanfare, Ms. Cuttler, the history teacher, even goes so far as to reprimand him for missing two whole weeks in front of the class.
Steve doesn't need detention for 'mouthing off' on his first day back, no matter how unfair she's being. He manages to take his seat without speaking; he can't quite hide the angry red flush staining his cheeks though.
Lunch is what Steve is looking forward to, he just has to make it to lunch, he can keep his head down until then.
Steve's last morning class is science.
It's not his favourite class, but Mr. Clarke at least tries to keep it interesting for them, and he's always nice. Giving extensions on homework, half marks on tests rather than zeros with little comments in blue ink saying, 'I see where you were going with this, you almost got it!'
As soon as the bell rings, Steve grabs his backpack and books, uncaring of the homework instructions Mr. Clarke tries to yell over the clamouring kids and the last few notes of the bell.
"Oh Steve, you gotta sec?"
It takes every fibre of Steve's being not to just bolt from the room with the rest of the class, pretend he didn't hear.
It's your lungs that are screwed up now, not your ears, he thinks bitterly as he turns towards the front of the room where Mr. Clarke stands with a stack of xeroxed paper.
"Here's the homework you missed, if you can have it done for next week I think that'll keep you on track," he says with a smile that quirks his moustache.
Steve gives him a brief smile as he takes the stack of papers, "thanks, yeah I'll have it done by then," he tries for a grin, wincing at the raised eyebrow Mr. Clark gives him.
They both know it will be late.
Steve turns to leave again, with a forced half smile, but stops as Mr. Clarke clears his throat.
"They don't give us a lot of information about absences," he gives Steve a long look, "so all I'm going to say is if you want to chat, about anything, even if it's just homework, my door is open".
Steve nods as Mr. Clarke gives him a kind half smile, patient like the ones Dr. Sattler or Claudia would give him after explaining how something worked.
It's not something most adults put a lot of effort into, especially for Steve, writing him off if he doesn't understand something the first time it's explained.
It's certainly not something his parents do for him.
"Sure Mr. Clarke," Steve mumbles as he tucks the papers into the textbook in his arms.
His teacher nods once and clears his throat awkwardly, gesturing towards the door, "Alright, you better get going," Mr Clarke says, "it's pizza day and I guarantee you the pepperoni is pretty much done at this point".
Steve snorts and takes a step back, "later Mr. Clarke," he calls over his shoulder as he makes his way past the empty desks and into the hallway, letting himself be guided by the stream of kids heading towards the cafeteria.
With the Hawkins Middle and High Schools being the only two secondary schools in the county, the buildings were naturally massive to accommodate all of the children and teens they housed on any given day during the school year.
The cafeteria was no exception.
Finding somewhere to sit was almost always impossible if you ran late to lunch, most students would give up trying to find a table and would end up settling by their lockers or sitting outside in the warmer months, but Steve was on a mission this time.
He looks around the busy room with his lunch tray, head on a swivel as he searches for a mop of curly brown hair. Eddie said he could sit at his table but he hadn't mentioned which one that was.
Steve walks along the wall, eyes scanning the tables, he begins to wonder if he had the wrong lunch period after all.
"I'm telling you, a beholder is the worst thing you could run into in a Dungeon, hands down--"
Steve perks up at the voice, fairly certain he knows who it belongs to.
The relief is palpable as he continues forward, following the voice. A small part of Steve had begun to wonder if Eddie even went to his school, or if his muddled water logged brain had dreamed that up entirely.
He finally spots Eddie at a table against the far back wall and has to stop himself from cheering as he makes a beeline for them, albeit more slowly than he would prefer. He's still getting winded easily and doesn't want to have to break out the inhaler the doctor gave him just yet.
There are two other boy's that Eddie is talking animatedly to, his hands gesturing wildly with a broad grin on his face.
Eddie spots him mid sentence and the effect is instant, his face lights up as he smiles and starts to wave before halting abruptly, a strange look passing over his face.
"Hey!" Steve smiles, slightly uncertain now that Eddie's face has fallen into something unreadable. The other two boys at the table have turned to face him, their eyes scanning Steve up and down.
The kid sitting closest to Steve, a black boy with braces and a t-shirt with something called Queen on the chest, Steve feels a spark of recognition at the name and makes a note to ask him about it later. He gives Steve a small polite smile which makes him feel slightly less nervous.
The other boy sitting closest to Eddie eyes Steve somewhat warily, he's wearing a Hawkins Middle school shirt, thick glasses with tape around the frame, and wavy brown hair that isn't as long as Eddie's but longer than Steve's mother would ever allow.
They all stare at Steve for what feels like an eternity before he clears his throat awkwardly.
"Um, my name is Steve--" he starts to say, reaching out a hand to the closest boy before Eddie stands up from the table.
"Where were you?" Eddie says, uncaring of the sudden climb in volume or the heads that turn their way.
Steve ignores the faces turned their way and takes another step forward towards the table, a small nervous laugh bubbles up as he moves, “I was sick, remember?"
Eddie frowns, his eyes dart from Steve to the other boy directly in front of him, closest to where Steve is standing.
"I wanted to show you my book two weeks ago," Eddie folds his arms over his chest now, frowning slightly, "Ms. Allen confiscated it," he mutters darkly.
Steve winces at the tone and brings his arms around himself, taking a step back. A small part of him curses his decision to stay home another week to let his breathing find some semblance of normal.
The teen closest to Steve rolls his eyes, "if it wasn't the handbook, it woulda been something else Ed, you know Allen's been looking for a reason to punish us since you told her that you got more out of Gary Gygax than anything Mark Twain ever wrote --plus there's a literal demon on the cover,” he says with a wry grin.
"I'm Jeff," he says with a wave before pointing to the other kid at the table, "that's Bobby, and it seems like you already know Eddie?"
Steve gives Jeff a small, thankful, smile and takes a step closer, "yeah, it's a bit of a long story--"
"A heroic tale of rescue more like!" Eddie cuts in, the familiar energy fills Steve with relief as he launches into the story.
Jeff rolls his eyes again and shoots Steve an exasperated look before patting the bench next to him, an official invitation.
Steve tries to play off the wide grin that threatens to take over his face and takes a seat next to Jeff, setting down his lunch tray with a clatter.
"So,” Eddie sits up slightly, bringing his leg up onto the table bench to curl up underneath himself, “Uncle Wayne and I were fishing, right?"
"Fishing?" Bobby cuts in with a laugh, wrinkling his nose as he looks Eddie up and down, "you?"
"Yeah fishing, not all of us can just go to the grocery store whenever we want," Eddie huffs impatiently as his ears begin to redden, he waves his hands, "anyway".
"Instead of a trout we managed to catch something a little stranger,” he grins at Steve, “he was all caught up in some old fishing line or something and--hey, you never told us why you were out on the lake by yourself?”
Three sets of eyes turn to stare for a beat though Bobby loses interest fairly quickly, averting his eyes back to the open milk carton on his own orange lunch tray.
Steve clears his throat, unsure just how to explain his thought process that morning.
He just had to get out of the house, he couldn’t sit there any longer waiting for his dad to finally leave--
“Well?” Eddie prompts again, the smallest of frowns pulls at his expression before Jeff snorts.
"This is not very heroic so far man, where are the X-Men, the laser battles, come on dude," Jeff grins as Eddie sputters and launches into a rant about comic books that Bobby seems to perk up at, his attention switching from the lunch tray to Eddie.
Steve breathes out a sigh of relief as the attention moves away from him.
"You don't need lasers or special powers for hero stories, Tolkien didn't need idiots in spandex, he just needed a Hobbit and a ring and made a fucking masterpiece," Eddie
"Are you seriously comparing yourself to Tolkien right now?" Jeff asks with a knowing smirk, it grows wider as Bobby laughs.
"Who's Tolkien?" Steve says, it's not a name he's ever heard before, though they must be some kind of storyteller. Was there a new book assigned while Steve was away recovering?
Eddie blanches for a second in surprise before his face lights up, he waves his hands at the chorus of groans from both Jeff and Bobby and cackles, "Stevie, Stevie, Stevie, we have so much to teach you!"
***
As the school year comes to a close, Steve finds himself looking forward to the summer for the first time in his life.
Summer for Steve is normally lonely.
He spends his time looking for ways to avoid his house, counting down the days when he can go back to school. Even sitting through class or trying out for the intramural leagues is better than the monotony of summer.
At least during school he had people to talk to.
But this summer is different.
Steve, Jeff, Eddie, and Bobby get on like a house of fire, where one of the boys is, the other three are never far behind.
They teach Steve about Dungeons and Dragons, Tolkien and the one ring --the book certainly reads like some of the books they had assigned in class, but Eddie and Jeff looked so excited the day Steve brought it home from the library, he couldn’t disappoint them.
In turn, Steve introduces the other boys to the pool, inviting the three of them to the Harrington house on a scorching June day.
“No way,” Bobby whispers as they reach the driveway, Jeff’s mouth drops into a little ‘O’ shape while Eddie’s eyes widen in surprise before his expression shutters.
“You’re kidding right?” Jeff asks with a laugh in his voice, “seriously, where’s your moat man?”
Steve reaches out to push Jeff’s shoulder as Bobby laughs, “shut up, it's not that bad--”
“No? Are you going to bring out a unicorn next? What else are you hiding in there?” Bobby scoffs as he takes a hesitant steps towards the edge of the driveway, as though worried the ground would fall out from underneath him at any moment.
“Oh just wait,” Steve says, biting his lip to keep his grin in check, it falters slightly at the pinched expression on Eddie’s face, the way his eyes flick from the house to Steve, before eventually landing on their feet.
Steve opens his mouth to ask what’s wrong but he’s forced to whirl around to keep his footing as Bobby drags him up the drive, “Steve, if you do actually have a horse in there, I will still be very impressed”.
While it may not be a unicorn, Steve knows he has one other ace up his sleeve as he presents them with the crown jewel of the Harrington house, the Atari.
“Oh my god!” Bobby crows as he jumps off the last step of the basement and races towards the television.
“You have one of these!” he hisses incredulously, snatching the attached joystick from its resting place on the top, Steve winces as the cord pulls slightly from Bobby’s exuberance.
“I mean, it’s my dads, not mine,” Steve shrugs, he puts his hands in his jeans pockets and turns back to Jeff and Eddie, “but we can play it, he’s not home”.
Diane argues the day his father brings the machine home.
It must stay in the basement, out of sight, determining that something so hideous has no place in their well decorated living room.
Ignoring the fact that the only television in the house was in the basement, Diane insists on keeping the rest of the house as pristine as Good Housekeeping has taught her.
Richard simply rolls his eyes at his wife, ‘It’s not like it matters Diane, one of the investors thinks he’s being cute, like any son of mine would waste his time with one of these, right Steven?’
Steve nods, content to keep his head down, focused on his homework, not to make waves.
‘Course dad, computer games are for losers,’ the words come easily, he’s heard them before.  He flinches as a heavy hand comes down on his shoulder and squeezes lightly.
‘God damn right’.
‘Why are we even keeping it then?’ Diane asks sharply, her tone cool as she follows him down the stairs.
Steve trails after them to the landing; he can still hear from the wary distance he keeps while his parents continue to talk.
"Allan and the rest of the partners are coming in two weeks for drinks, and I’m not letting that prick get one over on me”.
Diane is quiet for a beat.
Steve tilts his ear to listen intently. He knows that silence. It's something his mother usually employs while calculating all options before speaking carefully.
‘Fine, I suppose the dust will collect best down here,” Steve can almost hear the sneer that pulls at his mothers mouth as she speaks.
‘Atta girl,’ Richard  says quietly, almost fondly.
Jeff raises an eyebrow as he comes to stand beside Steve, “you can’t play it if your dad’s home?”
Steve falters for a second, scrambling for something to say.
Bobby scoffs by the television, still inspecting the machine, "you know how much one of these things costs? If we had one, my dad would flip if I so much as looked at it”.
Steve settles for shrugging with a mild smile, infinitely grateful for Bobby's ability to blurt out the first thing he thinks in any given situation.
If Jeff questions it, he doesn't say anything, and instead moves to join Bobby where he crouched on the floor.
Steve turns back to find where Eddie went only to find him frozen on the last stair still.
His eyes seem to trace over the room, an unreadable expression on his face, it contorts into something sour before smoothing as his gaze eventually lands on Steve.
"Didn't know we pulled a rich kid outta the lake," Eddie says after a beat, finally walking further into the room, his arms crossed tightly over his stomach.
"I guess," Steve says weakly as Eddie nods and moves towards where Jeff is kneeling beside Bobby with one of the game cartridges in his hands.
A spark of annoyance crackles through Steve, licking the inside of his ribcage. If Eddie isn’t interested in playing, he just has to say so, they can do something else - work on their character sheets, go outside. The other day Eddie showed them all the best spot by the quarry for throwing rocks so that the sound seemed to echo for miles as it hit the water. They could easily go, right now.
They aren’t supposed to be touching this anyway, it’s not like it’s a big deal. It’s not.
Steve knows the others don’t know how much trouble he could get into for this, the risk he’s taking for even showing it to them, for having kids over unsupervised, uninvited.
"Well, does that thing play Asteroids or what?" Eddie asks abruptly, interrupting Steve’s train of thought.
He nods, quietly tamping down the last fleeting sense of irritation and walks over to the shelf where the rest of the games were dumped, wincing at the impressed chorus of whoops that Jeff and Bobby let out.
It only serves to accentuate the brooding silence that has followed Eddie all morning, since they walked over the threshold of Steve’s front door.
Jeff and Bobby take turns playing the rest of the afternoon. Steve defers to them, content to simply watch his friends try out the games. They bicker back and forth, making noises at key moments to try and break each other's concentration, Steve laughs brightly as Bobby manages to make Jeff crash for the fourth time in a row by simply imitating Rod Stewart.
“If you want my body and you think I'm sexy, come on, sugar, tell me so!” Bobby croons, making his voice older and raspy as he leans close enough for Jeff to twist his head away.
“Get outta here Bobby-- oh you sonovabitch!”
Bobby cheers, lifting his clasped hands above his head, “and the crowd goes wild, what do ya say, Jeff, best two out of three?”
Jeff flops backwards onto the carpet, pretending to catch an invisible dagger to the chest, “mark my words, if you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine!”
He rolls his head to the side and reaches out, pointing towards Steve with a cry, “Avenge me!”
Steve laughs long and loud as Jeff croaks and groans and finally sticks his tongue out of the side of his mouth with a low hissing sigh as he finally pretends to die on the carpet of Steve’s basement.
“So, what say you, Steve?” Bobby croaks as he lifts one hand to cover his mouth, and the other to hold out the abandoned joystick as he breathes out heavily, “do you dare take up the saber?”
Steve has no clue what they’re doing, a joke from something he’s sure, but he schools his face into something serious, and takes the joystick with a grave nod.
“For Jeff!” Steve cries as the digital melody fills the air.
Finally, Steve lets himself bask in the warmth and friendship that has surrounded him for the last few months, the normal chill of the Harrington home finally absent as Bobby begins to cheer while also doing his damndest to distract Steve.
Jeff finally sits up with another hiss, “I LIVE, to see Steve beat your sorry ass Bobby!”
He claps his hand on Steve's shoulder with a grin, “you got this!”
It isn’t until a throat clears behind them that the three boys notice Eddie hasn’t said a word for the last ten minutes.
He’s standing now, backpack slung over his shoulder --when did he go upstairs?
“It’s late,” Eddie mumbles quietly, “Wayne will want me home for supper soon”.
The words seem to break the spell that has fallen over the other two boys and they both stand as if summoned from their seats on the floor.
Steve can only sit and watch as Jeff and Bobby move towards Eddie, albeit reluctantly.
Jeff stretches out, raising his arms above his head, “yeah, I should probably go too,” he groans out as he drops his arms back at his sides.
“Thanks for the game dude,” Bobby says with a shrug, though he looks decidedly more annoyed at the interruption than Jeff, “beats trying to escape the heat in the creek anyway”.
Jeff rolls his eyes, “It also beats shelling out quarters at the arcade on 4th Bobby, this was seriously really cool man”.
Steve grins at the pair of them before turning towards Eddie who glares at the floor in silence until Jeff elbows him.
Eddie breathes out loudly through his nose, “yeah it was cool, but next time we should go over your characters a bit more, especially if you guys are going to survive the next encounter I designed”.
Bobby scoffs as he grabs his own messenger bag from the bottom of the stairs, “well I’m not going back to the library, Mrs. Depencier gives me the creeps”.
“The library is the only place with enough space,” Eddie argues as he turns and makes his way up the stairs.
Steve feels the words lift him up, this is his chance, he takes a step towards the other teens, “I could host?”
Jeff and Bobby stop, turning back towards Steve with excitement in their gazes. Jeff seems to hesitate though, turning back to back to Eddie whose face is hidden by the edge of the staircase, Steve can only make out the bottom on his legs from where he’s standing.
He walks forward to the bottom of the staircase and stops short of taking the first step, “my parents aren’t home for the next four weeks so I can have you guys over, no problem”.
Bobby punches his fists into the air, "Yes! Oh my god, huge house, no parents?" Bobby jumps down the last two stairs again and nearly tackles Steve, "this is perfect!"
Perfect, is…certainly a word for it, not necessarily the one Steve would use, but Bobby wasn't here at night.
Not when the glow of the pool would cast eerie shadows along the treeline that surrounded the Harrington backyard. Steve never felt comfortable sitting outside by himself once the sun went down, even now in middle school.
All it took was one snapped branch in the dark or one flicker of shining eyes for him to race back into the kitchen, slamming the sliding door shut behind him.
The locked door never really feeling like enough by himself.
"Four weeks?" Eddie says quietly as he takes a step down, his expression seems pained though Steve can't imagine why.
"I know it's not that long," Steve shrugs, "but we could do it in an afternoon right?"
Jeff's eyebrows rise, cutting shallow creases across his forehead, he and Eddie look at one another, seemingly having some kind of silent conversation before they both turn back to Steve at the same time.
"I need three days to finish it up, but that means we can meet in between to finish your characters," Eddie offers, the words slowly break the strange sudden quiet that has fallen over the basement.
"Tomorrow?" Steve asks tentatively,
"I'll be here, and hey if they don't come," Bobby says with a wry grin as he elbows Steve, "then I'll kick your ass at Asteroids!"
"We'll be here jackass," Jeff scoffs as Eddie nods silently.
He has a strange look on his face that Steve can't quite place, but at least he doesn't look annoyed anymore.
"Tomorrow then," Eddie confirms, grinning as Bobby blurts out a loud, 'hell yeah' as Jeff rolls his eyes once more.
The boys do eventually make their way upstairs, though at a snail's pace as the strange tension from earlier fades away.
Steve walks them all to the door and watches as they make their way down the long drive, taking turns waving as their voices fade into the distance.
Steve swallows hard as he closes the front door, trying not to think too hard about how many hours until he'll hear his friends voices again.

Steve Harrington showing up to Hellfire made sense.
He knew the kids. After The Incident of which they Do Not Speak Of, he knew Eddie. There was a friendship there that was pulling him into Hellfire’s orbit, and the elder members followed their leader's cues when it came to jocks who had decided to redeem themselves and evolve into beloved town hall heroes.
Showing up to Corroded Coffin’s recently restarted band practice required a bit more adjusting, but it was fine.
Everything was fine.
Steve showing up in the middle of a heated, completely nonsensical argument with Eddie, was also, unfortunately, growing to be something normal and fine--but arguing over Jeff specifically?
That was a little harder to ignore.
“That’s my Robin.”  Eddie had started, pointing sternly towards Jeff as he marched up Gareth’s driveway.
Steve rolled his eyes.
“You already claimed Gareth as your Robin, you can't also claim Jeff.”
Yes I can! Because I have two--no, no, three!” Eddie counted on waiving fingers, “I have three Robin's, Grant’s one too!
Jeff blinked, before turning to his other bandmates. “Any idea about what this is about or…”
Nope.” Gareth refused to even look at the duo arguing. “And I don't want to know.”
“Okay then.”
“They each have different specialties,” Eddie was animatedly arguing, having stopped in the center of the garage to square up to Steve. “So combined they make up one Robin.”
“That's not how that works!” Steve loudly scoffed, arms winging out in a way that disturbingly, looked like a move he had copied from Eddie.
He got a smirk in return. “Don't  be mad because I'm more popular than you are these days, Steven.”
Oh now they were approaching dangerous territory-- Eddie was getting smug.
A smug Eddie, Jeff knew, was an obnoxious Eddie. The kind of obnoxious that refused to let things go and claimed victory over random bullshit. The type of obnoxious that would take weeks to kill, with them all suffering through Eddie’s crowing in the meantime.
Given the look on Steve’s face, he knew it too.
There was only one way to prevent the monster known as Smug Eddie, and that was to cut him at the knees before he properly got started.
Something no member of Hellfire had ever before managed to accomplish--on purpose.
Steve, Jeff thought, was not a member of Hellfire.
With a sudden and distrustworthy narrowing of his eyes, the ex-jock asked. “Didn't you say Jeff bakes?”
“No--” Eddie spat instantly but it was too late, Steve was already turning and--oh God, trying to pull Jeff into this shit.
“Yes--hey Jeff, man, do you bake?”
“Uh…”
Grant looked between Steve, Eddie and Jeff, before taking one giant step to the right of them all.
The traitor.
“Don't answer that!” Eddie commanded, stalking around to put himself between Jeff and Steve. “Do not answer that!”
“I--yeah?” Jeff answered anyway, confused to hell but choosing to trust Steve on this one.
Unfortunately for Corroded Coffin as a whole, and Jeff specifically, what they were missing was the fact that Steve could be a downright petty bitch.
“What’s the hardest thing you can reliably bake?”
It took a moment for Jeff to realize Steve was still talking to him, given his eyes were locked onto Eddie’s.
“I like doing those kind complicated swirls with frosting sometimes?” Realizing how that sounded he quickly added; “To make cool patterns and shit!”
Steve nodded once, before boldly declaring: “I'm taking Jeff.”
Eddie sputtered.
“No you are not--”
“That way,” Steve said, steamrolling right over, “you have two and I have two.”
“Were not sharing cookies here, Steve!”
“I know,” Steve retorted and oh God, now he sounded smug, “because Jeff and I haven't baked them yet.
“No--no! Jeff, Jeffery look at me.” The older teen whirled around to face Jeff, face serious. “You are forbidden to bake with this heathen.”
“Wow, controlling much?” Steve drawled, moving fluidly around to stand shoulder to shoulder with Eddie, facing Jeff. With a weighty sincerity, he said, “I would never tell you what to do.”
“Yes he would! Yes He absolutely would!
“What the fuck.” Jeff muttered, as they both continued to stare at him while maintaining their argument with each other.
“You made eye contact, this is on you.” Grant told him.
20 minutes later and Jeff would finally announce he was not going to do anything with anyone until after band practice.
20 hours later, Steve would invite himself into Jeff’s house with a bag full of baking ingredients and a look in his eye that terrified Jeff more than Jason ever had.
2 days later, Eddie would loudly declare Jeff’s status as a traitor, only to renounce it five seconds later after Gareth shoved one of the cookies they baked in his mouth mid rant. Only then would he agree that Steve could have Jeff as “his second Robin.”
Unfortunately, he did this in front of the real Robin, who, as it turns out, can give one hell of a rant.
(Later, Jeff, Grant and Gareth would loudly declare Robin their Queen and expert in all things Steve and Eddie, going so far as to present her with a Burger King crown to seal the deal.
She would proudly wear it, despite all the bitching it caused from Steve and Eddie.)

i adoreeee your sm!! would you write eddie x cheerleader!reader where they have their first time together? in his room in his trailer uwu? hurt/comfort 💕😭 and ofc she’s friends with the hellfire club and sits with them at their tableeee at the cafeteriaaa awwwgshsgsgsg
ty for requesting :D — a summary of the day after your first time with eddie munson (established relationship, brief hurt/comfort, cw for mentions of sex but no real smut | 0.9k)
bug's two year celebration ♡
You enter Hawkins High that morning with a subtle ache between your thighs. A distant panging from within you feel strangely proud of. A soreness that makes you feel brand new.
You spare a brief glance at Eddie from the corner of your eye. He hasn’t stopped smiling since he picked you up that morning (or since he dropped you off the evening before that). Your chest swells with a sparkling feeling. You bow your head to hide your smiling, but you can’t shake the feeling that everyone’s looking at you — that your deepest secrets have somehow made the headlines of the school paper.
“I feel like everyone’s staring,” you admit in a whisper when the two of you pause at your adjoining lockers. Your words are nearly drowned out by the droning of a thousand conversations. Your hands shake with the lock.
“Of course they are,” Eddie scoffs, leaning against the forest green metal (‘cause it’s not like he carries his books around anyway). He grins down at your timid form and shrugs. “Why wouldn’t they be? Look at us.”
He chuckles under his breath and waits for you to laugh with him. You never do. You just duck your head and reach into your locker for a history book, more content to hide within its confines. Eddie burns.
“I— I didn’t tell anyone if that’s what you’re worried about,” he murmurs, more seriously now, as he takes a small step closer to you.
“No, I know!” you blurt, gaze averted. “I just… I just feel sorta weird.”
“Like… Bad weird?”
“No! It’s— It’s not like that…” You don’t know how to put your swirling feelings into words, so you trail off and regret mentioning anything at all.
Eddie watches you shut down before him. His chest pinches as he reaches for you.
“Hey… There’s nothing to be worried about, okay?” he coos to you with a wavering, crooked smile. “No one knows shit except the two of us— And trust me, I’m gonna be thinking about it all day—”
His attempts to make you laugh work this time.
You smack his shoulder with a quiet giggle, and he laughs harder at himself.
“I’m serious!” he says, cradling his arm.
“You’re annoying,” you correct, still smiling.
“What do you want me to do, huh?” Eddie croons. “I need something to think about until next time…”
You meet his boyish grin with narrowed eyes. “That is very presumptuous of you, Eddie Munson.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” he laughs.
You shrug without a word and shut your locker with a soft clang.
Eddie’s smile fades as you walk away from him. “Wait— What does that mean?” he shouts to you, but receives no answer as you disappear into the bustling crowd.
—————
Alone at the Hellfire cafeteria table, you read silently and wait for the rest of the club to take their seats. Jeff is first, ‘cause his mom always packs his lunch. Dustin and Mike are second, and Eddie is third. Your boy arrives with a sudden kiss to your cheek that startles you for a fleeting moment.
“Missed you,” he mumbles in your ear.
“It’s been three hours,” you laugh.
Eddie follows you when you flinch away from him. “Yeah, tell me about it,” he croons, ducking down to press a kiss to your neck. Until you shove him away, at least, face burning at the blatant PDA in front of the rest of your friends. You turn back to your book and try to ignore their unwavering eyes.
“You guys are gross,” Dustin grumbles through a mouthful of fries.
Eddie slumps down in his seat at the head of the table. His lips curl into a lopsided smirk as he tilts his head. “You’re just jealous, Dusty-Bun.”
“Um, excuse me, but I have Suzie, in case you forgot. And she’s hotter than Pheobe Cates— I have nothing to be jealous of,” Dustin rambles, then flashes you an apologetic glance. “No offense.”
“None taken,” you murmur.
“Oh. Right,” Eddie nods, slow and sarcastic. “You mean your very real, not fake at all girlfriend?”
“She’s real!”
“You guys are acting clingier than usual,” Mike observes in his usual monotone.
Gareth arrives at the table then. His tray clatters as he sits down across from you. “It’s ‘cause they had sex,” he tells the raven-haired boy with a nonchalant shrug.
You freeze, breath catching as your heart drops to your stomach. You turn to Eddie with wide, uncertain eyes. You couldn’t hide your shock if you wanted.
Eddie’s face houses a similar horror. “I didn’t tell him. I swear.”
“You didn’t have to tell me,” Gareth scoffs and takes a too-big bite of his burger. His eyes flit between the two of you as he talks through the wad in his cheek. “I can practically smell it on you guys. You’re like a couple of cats in heat.”
“Well, only one cat would be in heat, so technically…” Dustin trails off at the glare Eddie gives him. “Sorry. Not helping.”
“It’s not a bad thing!” Gareth chuckles at his best friend’s simmering anger, ketchup clinging to the corner of his mouth. He slaps the boy on his leather-clad shoulder and says, “It’s about time you get laid, man— I was starting to worry.”
“Says the virgin,” Eddie quips and steals a fry from his tray.
You swat his other shoulder.
“What?” he winces playfully.
“You were a virgin, too, asshole,” Gareth grumbles.
“Yeah. I remember it like it was yesterday,” Eddie says within a whimsical sigh.
“That’s because it was yesterday, idiot.”

Another Gareth and Steve Idea
I’ve mentioned before my idea of step-brothers Steve and Gareth.
This is another one of those.
Steve and Gareth who— after their parents finally marry— move to Hawkins Indiana just in time for Steve’s Senior year of high school.
Steve’s not at all happy about it but he tries to keep the brooding to a minimum. His anger issues tend to spark up Gareth’s anger issues which would just make everything worse.
So Steve deals. It’s fine. It’s Gareth’s Freshman year, and he himself isn’t to happy about starting in Hawkins. But it’s whatever, not like he had any friends back in (insert wherever Tf it was they moved from).
Except when they start at Hawkins nobody knows they’re brothers. Gareth kept the Emerson last name in honor of his late mother and Steve’s last name remains Harrington from before his mom and dads divorce when he was 12.
Not to mention that they immediately run in different social circles.
Well— they try to.
Steve isn’t too good about sticking to a circle. Sometimes he’s hanging out with the “nerds” others he’s hanging out with the band kids. He’s often found talking with the cheerleaders in the halls and the jocks and popular crew at lunch. But he doesn’t seem to have any trouble talking to just about everyone.
Gareth goes on to meet Eddie and Jeff. He shares a few classes with Jeff, even though he’s in the year above. He starts running with the freaks of the school and he quickly becomes a target for bullies.
Steve doesn’t know Gareth’s being bullied until later, when he hears some of the jocks he sits with at lunch laughing about him.
Idk where I was going with this.
The jocks end up going home early in the nurses office.
Eddie and Jeff and Brian are all very skeptical about Steve and Gareth finds it hilarious to no ends.
“Steve? Who cried over a dead bird in the road literally last week?”
The guys don’t know they’re brothers. And it’s not like Gareth is keeping it from them or anything, it’s just never quite come up.
They both manage to get over half way through the year before Steve finally meets Hellfire.
The drama club room is being used the night of Hellfire so Gareth offers up his place because his parents won’t be home, only his older brother.
The guys come over and it’s Steve who opens the door.
They’re fully convinced they have the wrong house until Steve’s like “oh yeah that Dorks and Dumbasses game with Gare, right?”
And that’s when everyone finds out they’re brothers.
Steve and Gareth had no idea that they had no idea that they were brothers. They thought everyone knew???
Apparently, nobody in the school knows.
Idk where this continues but uh— eventual Steddie!!

Hellfire Adopts Steve Pt. 2
Pt 1
Eddie may be repeating his senior year, but he's no idiot. He's intuitive, a quick thinker, and generally, he's an excellent judge of character. Which is exactly why he protested Gareth's decision to drag Steve Harrington, the former King of Hawkins High and current King of Don't Fuck With Me, to lunch with Hellfire.
Jeff and Freak are both genuinely terrified to have His Royal Highness picking at subpar mashed potatoes in the uncomfortable plastic chair across from them; to his credit, Steve Harrington seemed unbothered by the situation, even as Princess Nancy Wheeler and her own little pet outcast Jonathan pass him on the way to their own table. Eddie watches with growing interest as Steve boredly ignores Nancy's attempt to catch his eye (it's almost hilarious- he'd been at the Halloween party last month where Nancy got absolutely shitfaced and then screamed at Steve in front of the entire student body, and yet here they are, Nancy trying awkwardly to speak to Steve and Steve resolutely going about his business).
Gareth stammers through a story about their latest DnD campaign, his round face practically glowing with excitement as he uses the peas on his tray to illustrate what their party had been up against. Eddie fully expects Steve to say something rude, dousing Gareth's smile and deserving every bit of ire Eddie can muster, but Steve just smiles at Gareth and ruffles his hand through the unkempt curls Eddie's been trying to get Gareth to take care of.
From there it only gets weirder. Steve seems to have taken a real shine to Gareth and is nothing short of a perfect gentleman to Jeff and Freak, but he loves to bicker with Eddie. Honestly, Eddie's impressed at just how much Steve seems to like bitching at people.
Steve is also surprisingly responsible? After that first lunch, Steve is around all the time; he shows up to Hellfire meetings with his backpack full of homework and a Tupperware full of something delicious (Eddie had nearly cried the first time he took a bite of Steve's macaroni), only to completely ignore their entire session to study. Occasionally, the walkie Steve carries with him whenever they aren't in school will crackle to life, and Steve will make himself scarce pretty quickly.
Overall, Steve is awesome. Eddie hates to admit it, but watching such a prim and proper guy emotionally destroy someone for commenting on Freak's size, and Eddie just knows that the damage done to Tommy Hagan's car after Gareth showed up to Hellfire with a busted lip and glassy eyes was Steve's fault.
========
Steve is actually really enjoying his time in Hellfire. He doesn't really mention it to the kids, and both Nancy and Jonathan are still avoiding him, so Steve sees it as a win: he gets to make friends who haven't seen him get his ass beat by interdimensional horrorterrors that have ruined dogs and flowers for him forever, he gets to learn more about the game his new little brother is obsessed with, and innocent kids don't have to bear the brunt of King Billy's reign of terror.
Gareth decides almost instantly that he likes Steve; not only because he saved Gareth from bullies or brings them food better even than Wayne Munson's, but because Steve always listens to his DnD stories. Jeff and Freak (who Steve will only refer to by his Government Name, Melvin) grow to like him as well, not at all encouraged by the food Steve brings or (on one memorable occasion) the incredibly realistic melee weapon, straight out of a flick like Red Dawn, that they found under his seat one day.

Piggybacking off this post of mine.
I think it’s hilarious if every member of Hellfire secretly thinks that Steve is an alright guy. No one ever mentions it because Eddie would be unbearable if he found out that they didn’t hate every jock (even the one he has a crush on). The ranting would never stop.
Like one time during Grant’s freshman year, he was getting his bike out of the rack when Steve stopped to tie his shoe. He casually says, “Just so you know, Tom- some upperclassmen like to steal the screws on freshie’s bikes. A kid last year ate shit and knocked out three teeth.”
Totally saved him from what could’ve been an embarrassing accident because every screw in his bike had been loosen to the point of nearly falling out.
The next day, Steve winked at him in the hallway like they had a secret and Grant felt totally normal about it.
There are two things Jeff knows about his step-dad: (1) he likes to restore old cars in their driveway, and (2) he keeps trying to get Jeff to help him with it. Jeff does not want this. He hates cars. It’s boring.
The one day, he gets home from chess club and Steve Harrington is standing in his driveway, holding a flashlight while his step-dad works under the hood. He’s wearing running shoes and the little shorts Eddie is always lusting over, and Jeff is…fully confused.
He doesn’t even say anything, just goes inside.
Then on Saturday, Jeff wakes up fully prepared with an excuse on why he can’t work on the car, but Steve Harrington is in his driveway again with the hood of his BMW up. When he looked out the window later, he can see Steve’s feet sticking out from under the junker.
Two weeks go by and Steve keeps making appearance in his driveway, but no one is asking Jeff to work on the car so. He fully accepts that he walked into the Twilight Zone and never mentions it to anybody.

Hellfire was going over…again. It often did, but it had been nearly an hour over schedule today, and you were bored out of your mind. Usually you would meet at the drama room at 7, when Hellfire was supposed to be over, and you’d ride home with Eddie. It was 8 now and you could still hear the raucous laughter and cheers from the room.
Time ticked by, and you decided to let yourself in. Eddie glanced up from the table as you walked into the room, flashing you a small grin before he was right back in character. It was fascinating to watch him DM - and kind of hot.
The game ended with the guys beating Eddie’s sadistic campaign - the room erupted in cheers as Gareth, Jeff, Grant, Dustin, Mike, and Lucas celebrated. Eddie sat back with an appraising grin - he was proud of the ruthless campaigns he came up with, but nothing was better than watching his friends just narrowly succeed in his world.
The guys all cleared out, wishing you a goodnight. You helped Eddie pick up his stuff, taking your time as you admired the little figures on the table.
“Good game tonight?” you asked Eddie, knowing it was.
“Incredible game,” he said, like he was reliving it in his head. “I can’t believe they didn’t all die.”
You laughed. “Did you go easy on them?”
“Don’t insult me,” he said, giving you a look. “I would never.”
“Took you guys forever tonight,” you said, leaning against the table. Eddie looked at you from over his books.
“It was an important game,” he said simply.
“More important than spending time with me?” you teased, walking up close to him, your fingertips dancing on his chest.
“Maybe,” he said, a smile spreading across his lips.
“Maybe?” You pretended to be offended. “Ouch.”
“Maybe I could make it up to you,” he said, taking a step forward and closing the distance between your bodies. It pressed your back up against the table, trapping you between them.
“Maybe you should,” you said, his lips hovering inches from your own.
He moved forward and pressed his lips to yours. You were absorbed into the kiss immediately, arms sliding around Eddie’s neck and a little moan spilling from your lips. Eddie squeezed your hips, grinding into you.
“So hard right now,” he mumbled, and he was definitely telling the truth. You could feel his erection through his tight jeans, pressing against your core through your own jeans. There were too many layers between you - you needed to feel more of him.
Your hands reached for his belt buckle, and Eddie reluctantly pulled back from your lips, your lower lip caught between his teeth as he backed up. “Really? Right here?”
“Why not?” Your voice was breathy from his kisses. “We’re alone?”
“Yeah, but someone could walk in…”
“That won’t happen. Everyone’s gone home. It’s just us.” You looped your fingers through his belt loops and pulled him closer. “You’re so sexy, Eddie.”
Eddie blushed. “That’s you.”
He lowered his head and captured your lips in another kiss, his tongue slipping into your mouth. You pressed your tongue against his, kissing passionately, your stomach buzzing with butterflies. His kisses never affected you any less than the first time.
His hands slid down your sides and around to cup your ass, squeezing it hard. You moaned again, clit throbbing between your legs, soaking wet and needing him.
“Gonna fuck you right here,” he muttered against your lips. “Gonna get these clothes off and fuck you like you deserve to be fucked, right here in school.”
You whimpered, his dirty words making your knees weak. He was practically holding you up, leaning you against the table so you wouldn’t collapse. It was getting to be too much, you clung to Eddie tightly, feeling like you’d drift away if you let go.
You undid his belt, fingers working on his button and zipper while he pulled your shirt over your head. You got his pants undone and shoved them down to his thighs, his boxers the only thing covering his raging hard on at this point. He groaned as it brushed against you.
“So big, Eddie,” you cooed, wrapping your hand around his clothed cock and drawing a moan from his pretty lips.
“Need it inside you, now,” he grunted, making quick work of undoing your jeans and pulling them down your legs, tossing them to the ground. He pulled you up and flipped you over so you were bent over the table. His hands caressed your ass, admiring the view in your red lace panties. The perfect shape of your ass was only enhanced by the way the material of your panties hugged your shape. Eddie was practically drooling at the sight. “Need it,” he grunted again.
He pushed your panties to the side, swiping his finger through your folds to collect your wetness. He brought it up to his lips, sucking it clean with a moan. “Always so sweet, baby.”
“Quit teasing,” you whined.
“Greedy slut,” he hissed. “Desperate for cock.”
He pressed his tip against your entrance then, and before you could do or say anything he was pushing inside. You let out a little “Ah!” as he filled you so abruptly, sinking his full length into your cunt.
“Fuuuck yeah,” Eddie said. “Takin’ it so well. Just like a good little whore. Bent over the table for me, where anyone could walk in on us - but she was too desperate to wait, wasn’t she, sweetheart?”
You whined, a weak “Mmhmm,” which satisfied Eddie. He pounded into you ruthlessly, grabbing your hips and pulling you back into his thrusts as if you might try to escape. Your mind was spinning as you were pushed into the table again and again, tits pressed against the game below you. Eddie would surely be thinking about this every D&D game for the foreseeable future.
“God, what a perfect body,” Eddie mused, looking at you spread all out for him, all for him. “Can’t believe it’s mine. Can’t believe I get to fuck you, get to put my thick cock in your little pussy. Any time I want.”
While Eddie was thinking out loud to himself, you were quickly coming undone around him. You could feel every ridge and vein of his cock, every inch of his massive length. He was pressing right into your bundle of nerves with every thrust, and you weren’t sure how much longer you were gonna last.
“Such a pretty little pussy,” he continued. “So tight and hot and wet. Perfect for my cock. Fuck- feels so good, baby.”
Eddie’s pace increased in speed, fucking into your cunt so hard the table was shaking beneath you, scraping against the floor. His figurines shook and fell off the table, clattering to the floor. Eddie didn’t care. All he cared about was how deep he was inside you, how deeply he was going to fill you.
“Eddie- Eddie, Eddie, Eddie!” you cried, not caring if there was anyone else still in the school who might hear you. Let them. Let them know how the Freak fucks his girl.
“Filthy cunt,” he said just before he slapped your ass hard. “So desperate and needy. I can feel you practically suckin’ me in. Desperate to keep me inside you. Don’t worry, baby, I’m gonna fill you up real good.”
The sounds of your skin meeting became louder, filling the quiet room. He was so deep in you you could feel his balls pressed tight against your ass with every movement. His thrusts were getting tighter and shallow, just quick rutting into you as he chased his high. His eyes were rolling back, fingers tightening on your hips, diving into you with frantic passion.
“Cum,” he gasped out. “Need you to cum.”
You weren’t far. A couple more ramming thrusts to your bundle of nerves and you were falling over the edge, crashing violently, crying out Eddie’s name again and again as lights exploded behind your vision, your ears ringing.
“Oh, shit!” Eddie thrusted in hard one more time and then he was spilling into you, pumping so much cum into your tight pussy that it dripped out from around his shaft, creating a sight that had Eddie groaning, cumming just a bit more into you.
When he pulled out, some of his cum slipped out of you. He dropped to his knees, making you gasp as you felt his tongue on your tired and sore pussy, cleaning you up. He stood up and pressed his lips to yours, letting you taste the mixture of the two of you.
Eddie gave your ass one final slap, fixing your panties to keep the rest of his cum inside and tossing you back your jeans. You both got dressed, looking at each other and giggling like you couldn’t believe what you’d just done.
There was a knock at the door - you both froze. The door slowly opened, revealing Gareth, who looked absolutely mortified. “Just…forgot my book…” he said, walking inside and picking up his book, holding it up to show you both before nearly sprinting back to the door. “Uh…see you guys tomorrow.”
Eddie froze. “How much did you hear?” he called after his friend.
“All of it, unfortunately!”

It’s Tuesday you know what that meanssss
Part three of my Eddie tries to solve whatever mystery the freshmen and steve are hiding (another between seasons 3&4 fic)
Part 1 Part 2
-
Eddie dropped down next to Gareth on the couch in Jeff’s parents’ garage. Usually when they were all out here together, they’d be practicing, since this was where the drum kit was. Today however, they had agreed to meet up after their most recent Hellfire meeting.
“Okay so, are we gonna talk about it?” Gareth asked, gaze locked on Eddie.
“I mean, I’m not even 100% sure what most of it was.” Eddie said.
“How ‘bout you start from the bathroom.” Jeff offered.
So Eddie started explaining finding Harrington in the bathroom, something clearly wrong. How he figured if anyone knew what was going on it might be Henderson, and he was right.
“Yeah, after you guys left, we tried to ask Mike what it was all about and he said Dustin was the only one who really knew any details, he just knew that Harrington had been having issues with headaches and stuff.” Grant supplied.
“One hell of a headache.” Eddie said, shaking his head. “I mean, the guy was on the floor, he could barely form coherent sentences until Mike and Dustin started having it out in the hallway.”
“Yeah, what was that all about?” Gareth pressed.
Eddie shrugged. “To be honest it was kind of hard for me to follow. Every time they said anything I felt like I was missing half of the story.” He leaned forward, elbows on his knees. “But what I did hear confirmed something i’ve been suspicious about for a while.”
“What?” Jeff quirked an eyebrow at him.
“They’re hiding something. All three of them and Harrington.” He looked to his friends’ faces to see their reaction. Most of them looked curious.
“Have you noticed, when they talk about certain things, they start to say something, then stop and change what they were going to say?” He asked.
Gareth was nodding. “Yeah, and none of them will give a straight answer on how exactly Henderson got so close with Harrington.”
“And,” Eddie said, just remembering another detail, “Wheeler said something like ‘we would have died in the tunnels without him.’ What fucking tunnels?”
He received a round of shrugs and head shakes in response.
Eddie leaned back in his seat, bringing his fingertips together like he was a villain in some shitty action movie. “Boys, I believe we find ourselves with a puzzle of our own to solve.”
Eddie figured Henderson would be the easiest to crack, with his inability to shut up about things he knew a lot about. Sinclair was far too good at deflecting and brushing things off, and nobody was willing to try to break through Wheeler’s attitude.
After about two weeks of trying to pry any details he could from Dustin, he had an epiphany. It came to him as he drove past Family Video, Harrington’s beemer sitting in the parking lot, and the man himself visible through the window reshelving an armful of tapes.
He could just ask Harrington.
As soon as he had the thought he physically recoiled. What had happened to him in just a few short weeks that a thought like that almost seemed not insane? He couldn’t just talk to the former Basket Ball Team Captain, Keg King, Prom King, Steve Harrington. It was just too weird. And Eddie was comfortable with weird but this was like, against the laws of nature territory.
Then he had a second epiphany. As he sat at the red light, he watched Harrington start walking toward the next aisle over, looking behind himself at something, and clip his shoulder on on the corner of the shelf, sending his neatly stacked movies tumbling to the ground. As the light turned green, he saw the answer to his problem step into view and help Harrington pick up the tapes and he began formulating his plan.
~
In a move worthy of every self respecting John Hughes movie, Eddie positioned himself perfectly and silently behind the open door of Robin Buckley’s locker so that when she slammed it shut, she was met with his mischievous smirk.
She let out a short yelp of surprise, then punched him, not so gently in the shoulder. “What the hell, Munson?”
“Firstly: Ow,” he started, rubbing the spot he could already feel a bruise forming, “Secondly: has Harrington’s penchant for getting into fistfights rubbed off on you so easily, my dear Lady?”
She scoffed. “Ok firstly,” she said mockingly, “keep calling me ‘Lady’ and I’ll do a lot more than punch you in your stupid vest-“
Eddie made a sound of offense at the insult to his beloved battle vest, but Robin kept going.
“And second: Steve’s only gotten into one fist fight on purpose. By your logic, I could say you have a penchant for repeating senior year.”
“Low blow. You know, I’m almost too hurt to even do what I came here to do.” Eddie brought the back of his hand to his forehead, miming fainting.
Robin hummed in faux consideration. “Did it maybe occur to you that was my goal?”
Eddie gasped, overdramatic as always. “Oh, Buckley, don’t tell me the evil King Steve has turned you against your fellow freak!”
Robin rolled her eyes. “Steve is not evil,” she said, slinging her bag over her shoulder, “and if I don’t get to work before 3:00, he’s going to pick the movie playing on every tv in the store, and it’s gonna be that stupid star wars movie and if I have to see those alien teddy bears one more time I’m gonna gouge out my eyes with quarters.”
Eddie winced at the mental image that painted and jogged a little to keep up with her brisk pace toward the front doors. Robin pushed through them harshly and continued out into the waning sunshine of early fall.
Without turning back to face him, she asked, “And what’s your deal with Steve anyway, why do you keep bringing him up?”
Eddie, having finally caught up to her, only a little out of breath said, “Let me give you a ride, there’s something I need to pick your brain about.”
This, mercifully, made Robin pause. “If this is about whether or not Steve and I are dating, or sleeping together, or whatever, it’s a big fat ‘no’.”
Eddie shook his head. “Do you really think I’d stoop to the low of common high school gossip?”
Her eyes roamed over him, seemingly trying to sus out his ulterior motives, weighing them against the effort of walking all the way downtown.
Finally, she let out an exasperated groan. “Fine, but if any of your questions piss me off we ride the rest of the way in silence.”
Eddie agreed to her terms and led her across the parking lot to his van. Once they were settled in the front seat, Eddie practically flew out of the parking lot.
“Well, Munson,” Robin said through gritted teeth, knuckles white as she held the handle above the door, “what do you want to know?”
“Ok, most importantly, how do Henderson and Harrington even know each other, outside of, I guess, Dustin being friends with Wheeler and Harrington dating Wheeler’s sister?”
She pointed an accusatory finger at him. “Aha! So this is about Steve! What’s your deal with him?”
Eddie held up a hand. “It’s not just about Harrington. It’s about how my newest lost sheep are keeping secrets and he seems to be at the center of them.”
Robin crossed her arms and sunk into her chair without responding.
Eddie glanced at her from the corner of his eye. “Oh come on, Buckley, you really don’t think it’s weird that the head asshole of the school just suddenly starts hanging out with a bunch of middle school dweebs? One of whom, might I add, is his ex-girlfriend’s little brother?”
“Head asshole, two years ago,” Robin jabbed back, “You’re telling me you didn’t notice when he lost all his friends and only hung out with his ex and the guy she left him for? How Billy terrorized him just as much, if not more, than he and Tommy ever did to anyone else? Sure they were assholes and a general nuisance, but Steve never held someone down and punched them until they blacked out.”
When Eddie couldn’t come up with an answer quick enough, Robin barreled on. “You’re so intent on putting people you don’t like in little boxes so you can step on them like the lunch trays you’re always destroying,” she glared at him, now clearly genuinely angry instead of just playfully annoyed, “you of all people should know that sometimes there’s more to people than what you might assume just by looking at them.”
They were stopped at the same light that Eddie had had his original epiphany at and Robin seemed to deem the car ride over. Before Eddie could even process her words fully, she had slid out of the passenger seat and slammed the door as she marched toward the Family Video parking lot. Even after the light turned green, Eddie found himself watching Robin storm into the store, catching a glimpse of the man in question meeting her at the door and placing a soothing hand on her shoulder. When Harrington looked out the glass door and saw him, still idling in his van, Eddie punched the gas all the way to Jeff’s house.

Part 2 … Part 3
A/N: Purely self-indulgent. I was in need of a good crashout, and have no one to actually crash out to, so why not do so to the Hellfire boys and my one true love, Eddie Munson? - Hy <3
Summary: The hellfire boys love to tease you for your lack of a love life. It's funny, and all in good fun, until it's not.
Warnings: Maybe based on some true events that hurt my feelings? Angsty. No use of y/n.
Word Count: 1.9k
It was easy to ignore at first, because they were all your friends. Best friends, even. Hellfire was a safe space for all the nerds and outcasts who wanted to play D&D and be terrorized by their resident Dungeon Master. The group had been together in some form since high school - though they’d gone through lots of changes in that time. Members came and went, but a few stuck around. You’d joined halfway through college, when you moved to Hawkins from a nearby town in the same county both to be closer to the college you were commuting to and further from the horrible hometown you’d grown up in. They’d been welcoming, and kind, when you had known no one. You’d run into Dustin Henderson when getting coffee and a pastry at the local coffee shop, and when you’d seen his D&D cap sitting on his curls, you asked if he played - the rest was history. He’d been more than happy to give you all of the information you needed to know this was a group you’d be interested in trying out. After you’d gone to your first meeting, the rest was history. You loved the group, and they took a quick liking to you. For some reason, Eddie Munson, resident DM, had realized you had lots of similarities. You had similar interests, you both loved to talk, and you both loved that over-the-top way of telling stories that had your friends in stitches. It created an easy bond between you both, and soon you were the best of friends.
Throughout your years of friendship, Eddie was known to go on dates, and even had a girlfriend or two. The other guys, too. You watched as they picked up girls, went on dates, broke up with or were broken up with. You were happy for them, sure. They were your friends and you loved them, of course you were happy for them. But they took note that you weren’t going on dates like they were. And at first, the jokes were tame. Again - easy to ignore. You loved them dearly, and they didn’t mean any harm, but it started to get a bit much. They teased you for never missing a session for a date, for never missing their shows for another guy, for never having a boyfriend to get jealous over your best friendship with Eddie. And Eddie often just chuckled along, which stung, but you knew he didn’t mean anything by it, either.
So it was easy. At first. You’d roll your eyes and laugh along with them, or you’d tease them back. When you were teased for making it to a last minute one-shot session, you gave it right back to them, and they’d shut up, laughing and agreeing. But then there was the big Valentine’s session. The night before Valentine’s Day, the boys got together for a brutal one shot. They’d decided somewhat last minute, as Eddie was annoyed and had recently broken up with one of his short-term girlfriends. Even though it was the night before Valentine’s Day, most girls were with their boyfriends anyway, or going on dates then, too. But you were here, with the boys, in Gareth and Jeff’s apartment.
When you’d walked in, nothing happened - at first. But then they started talking about how they all had hot dates the next day, and how Jeff had had to do some serious promising in order for his girlfriend not to be upset that he spent the night before the night of love with his friends instead of her. They started talking about the dates they had the next night, Eddie being the only one with too fresh a relationship end to really have a date planned. Well, Eddie and you. You just stayed quiet, listening and laughing along and asking about the boys’ plans. Gareth should’ve kept his big mouth shut, but he couldn’t resist, and finally asked you “no date again this year? You’re on a worse streak than us, dude,” with a playful laugh.
You knew he didn’t mean anything by it. They saw you as one of the guys, and that was fine. But something about the reminder that it was a regular pattern stung. Still, you kept your smile on, rolling your eyes and opening your mouth to say something when Jeff piped in, also teasing. His joke was a little funnier, and hit less close to home, so you laughed. One of the other boys made another comment, and so it went, until Eddie raised an amused eyebrow at you. “I mean come on, you couldn’t even get a Valentine’s Day date?”
He meant it to sound silly. It felt less silly coming out of his mouth, but he didn’t know how to fix it, so he stayed quiet in wait for a response, not knowing how hurt you felt by his comment. Finally fed up, you stood abruptly, chair pushing out loudly behind you, and gathered your things. You wouldn’t be staying for the special session, damn their plans.
Eddie, not one to know when to back down, instead doubled down. “Oh come on, you know that was just a joke. It’s just surprising to see a girl have worse game than us. And we’re all pretty bad,” he cracked the self deprecating joke, and again - it sounded so much worse out of his mouth than it did in his head.
Something about that final joke was what made you snap.
“I get it, okay?” You hissed. “It’s so funny, ha ha. Laugh it up, boys. You’re welcome to keep talking about how pathetic I am once I’m gone. I’m done. I’ll see you next week for the rest of the campaign.” You were clearly frustrated, and one of the boys tried to make it better, telling you they were just joking. It didn’t help.
“I don’t care if it’s a joke! I don’t care! I’m tired of hearing it! You have no idea how much it sucks to have the people around you all have dates and partners, and never having one for yourself. It’s funny, until it’s not! I don’t enjoy being this way, okay? I am in my mid-twenties, I’m friends with a bunch of guys, and I still am apparently too undesirable to have ever received any romantic attention. I don’t know what it’s like to be flirted with, to be asked on a date, to be loved or even lusted after! I don’t know what that’s like! Is that what you wanted to hear? You’re right! I haven’t been on a date in years, but not because I don’t have game. Just because apparently, I’m not even worth asking for a phone number! You go out, and girls flirt with you! You flirt with them! You get numbers, you go on dates, you have girlfriends! Even the younger kids in the friend group have had partners galore! The girls have had boyfriends, they’ve been fought over! I’ve never even been flirted with. Do you have any idea how humiliating that is?” You hadn’t even noticed you were crying until your hot tears made it hard to see. You wiped at your eyes roughly and took as deep a breath as you could manage. “You laugh, and you joke, but you don’t get it. You’ve never been the most undesirable person in a friend group. Even in a group of self-proclaimed freaks, I manage to be the biggest freak of them all. The girl no one has ever looked at twice. So excuse me if I’m tired of the jokes, okay?” You finished loudly, and held your D&D folder to your chest, shoving your dice in your pockets and turning to leave, barely slipping your shoes on your feet before heading quickly out the front door. The cool fall air helped the tightness in your lungs from all the tears, and you paused just a moment to catch your breath.
What hurt the most about all of it, was admitting it all. Not just to your friends - your best friends - but to Eddie. Eddie, who you’d been harboring a deep crush for since you’d met him all those years earlier. You had no idea how you’d face him now that he knew how absolutely pathetic you were - and had always been. You couldn’t even finish wallowing in peace, because before your feet had gotten you all the way to your car, you heard footsteps behind you, hurrying to reach you.
“Hey, wait!” Eddie called, “listen, I’m so sorry. I feel like such an asshole for what I said back there. I didn’t know it was something that-” he searched for the words, reaching for your arm gently, “I didn’t know. I’m sorry. I never would’ve imagined. You’re like, one of the coolest girls we’ve ever met, none of us ever thought that you’d- be single because you couldn’t-” that sounded better in his head, too, which caused him to sigh deeply. You looked back at him and he was staring at you with those big doe eyes of his, clearly apologetic. “I’m sorry. I’m so bad with my words. You know I am. But for some reason today, I just keep shoving my foot into my own damn mouth. I just mean- you’re awesome. You’re amazing, we all think so. We teased you because we thought you wanted to be single. Independent. Tied to no one,” he finished with a wince, realizing he still wasn’t helping his case.
“Eddie - it’s fine. You couldn’t have known. And I appreciate your sentiment, I really do. I know what you mean. I don’t hold your wording against you,” you gave him a small smile. “But I can’t go back in there. I feel horrible. I hate thinking about all of this, and I especially don’t like telling anyone about it. It feels so… pathetic.”
“Hey,” he stopped you, frowning. “Stop using that word. You’re not pathetic. You’re super awesome. We love you. We all do. And I get it, if you want to leave. But… can I call you once the session is over? I can fill you in on any of the stupid shit the boys do, and maybe I can distract you once you’re feeling up to a distraction.”
You stared up at him, once again in awe of how sweet he could be. It nearly broke your heart in two, because you really did love him. He was so kind. He’d just never be yours.
“Yeah, Ed. Of course you can. I’ll be happy to hear all about it. Make one of the NPCs particularly difficult to deal with in my honor, year?” You joked, smiling shyly at him.
He finally smiled and nodded, “obviously. She’ll be a super cool badass princess, and she won’t stop giving them shit, scout’s honor,” he gestured, and you couldn’t help but to giggle.
“I’ll talk to you later then, Eddie.”
“Yeah. Later. Bye, sweetheart,” he smiled softly, walking backwards slowly, away from your car and back to the apartment. He still felt horrible, but he had no idea when would be a good time to tell you that he’d only ever dated girls who reminded him of you.
It would just have to wait.

“Dustin isn’t coming.”
“What?” Eddie says, all frantic and jovial movements freezing instantly.
His eyes narrow on Lucas--the bearer of bad news. “Why?”
“Family emergency.”
Mike makes a face. “I saw his mom yesterday and she was fine, so is this a…?”
He makes a gesture that is entirely incomprehensible to anyone who isn’t Sinclair and his terrifying girlfriend.
(At least, Eddie thinks Max is Lucas’s girlfriend this week. It got a little hard to keep up after the third break-up-make-up marathon, and he frankly, stopped bothering to try.
It helped that she barely spoke--The only time notable being when Eddie had mockingly asked Sinclair if he needed a cheerleader when she’d first sat in, upon which she’d asked Eddie if he needed new kneecaps with a look in her eye that said she was serious.)
Wheeler Jr.’s gesture however, made her put her book down.
“You think he’s having migraines again?” She not so much asked as demanded, which had Mike shrugging.
“Dunno." Lucas says. "Dustin didn’t say.”
“Gotta be, if he called Dustin.” Mike mutters, Lucas shuffling his papers about as he begins to set up for Hellfire. He was the last in the room, practically late, which Eddie had planned on harassing him for had he not announced Henderson’s absence.
(Fucking freshmen. They just weren’t terrified of Eddie like they used to be.)
“Robin must be sick or something, otherwise he’d call her.”  Lucas finishes as he finally sits down.
“Didn’t the Marching Band go on some trip?” Mike turns to address the rest of the table, and gets nods from Jeff and Gareth both.
“Yeah they’re marching in some parade in Indianapolis.” Jeff confirms.
“So his last resort was Dustin?” Max is getting that tone in her voice, the one that makes everyone at Hellfire very uncomfortable. “Typical.”
She pushes away from the table, making a show of gathering up her things before rising easily to her feet.
Eddie trades looks with the elder Hellfire members as she makes her exit--the kind that says they’re all going to be talking about this later.
They knew their freshmen had some weird obsession with the former King, of course, but Mayfield too?
What the hell was up with that guy?
At least Eddie thinks, right before things are once again shot to shit, they can go back to playing the game.
He can make it work this early into things, and if Henderson isn't’ a fan of what he’s about to do to the kid’s character in his absence, well.
Maybe he shouldn’t be fucking absent then.
“So what, Max, you're gonna go over there and make it worse?” Mike snorts.
Fatal mistake.
Eddie almost strangles him for it, if only because it prolongs this entire unnecessary conversation.
Max performs a military perfect heel turn, coming straight back for Wheeler Jr., which makes him right about fall out of his seat in panic.
“What was that, Wheeler?”
“I’m just saying--!”
“We don’t know Steve’s having migraines.” Lucas reiterates, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Maybe it’s something else.”
“Does Steve get migraines a lot?” Grant asks, because despite all appearances he’s a terrible gossip and gets sucked in far too easily.
Eddie throws a pencil at him for it.
“Hel-looo, we have a game!?” He thunders, but unfortunately for him, precious Stevie-Weavies headache now has everyone’s attention.
“Yeah, though he’s really good at pretending he doesn’t.” Lucas answers with a put upon sigh.
“There’s a whole pattern--he ignores it until it gets super bad, then he has to call Robin or Dustin to come get him when he inevitably gets stranded at work or the like, grocery store.”
“Well who else do you think he’d call?” Mike scoffs again. He does a lot of that, when discussing Harrington. “It’s not like his parents are--Ow, Max!”
“Close your mouth before I close it for you.” She hisses and Mike, shockingly, does just that.
To Eddie, she says;
“Your ass isn’t any better, or did you forget I live across from you?”
Eddie--who had an insult primed and ready--promptly shuts his mouth.
(Fucking! Asshole! Freshmen!)
“Maybe I should go too.” Lucas says, hedging a look between his girlfriend and his DM.
“No.” She snaps, pointing a finger at him.
“If you go, then this idiot,” she flicks her finger to  Mike, “will go and then we really will make it worse. Stay here before your bichon frise has a fit about all his sheep abandoning him.”
Then she’s turning on her heel again, storming out.
“What the hell’s a bichon frisé?” Gareth asks in the aftermath, frowning.
“It’s a type of ahhhh--” Jeff clearly thinks better of the explanation, eyes sliding to Eddie.
Who’s scowling.
“I know what a bichon frisé is, Jeff.” He snaps.
“I don’t.” Grant loudly complains.
Jeff attempts to both calm Eddie and explain while Mike and Lucas spend far too many minutes looking after Max.
“Enough!” Eddie howls, temper finally getting the best of him. “Are we playing or do you also need to go sit by the King’s bedside?”
“Thank you,” Mike says, like he wasn’t a third of the entire problem. “Let’s play!”
They make it about ten entire minutes before getting knocked off track again.
In fairness, not that Eddie would ever admit it--the second meltdown is his own fault.
xXx
Hellfire is Eddie’s domain.
It’s one of the few places where he could relax without getting harassed or hounded, and having his freshmen--his!--abandon him for King Fucking Steve had set him off.
So he’d made a few comments about it.
Maybe introduced an NPC who sounded suspiciously similar to Harrington, only to instantly kill him off.
Made another couple of nasty comments.
Who cares? It worked him through his snit rather nicely, and his boys all knew to leave him be.
Except, apparently, for Lucas.
“Dude, would you lay off?”  The kid finally snaps, pencil slamming down on the table.
Which is the most backbone-like thing anyone has ever heard Sinclair say, and he gets far more whistles for it than he should.
Eddie pins him in place with a glare.
“What was that Sinclair?” He snarls, voice as menacing as he can make it.
(It’s pretty terrifying, he’s practiced quite a bit with it.)
Sinclair flinches, but doesn’t back down.
“I said lay off. Steve has migraines because of--” He stops, before seeming to come to a decision. “Because of me. He took a hit for me, and I owe him a life debt for it.”
To Eddie, he says; “You get what those are, right?”
Mike rolls his eyes. “It wasn’t just for you--”
“That time with Billy was!” Lucas is quick to snarl. “But you know what Mike, you’re right. It wasn’t just for me. He T-boned a car for all of us!”
Sinclaire is on his feet now, which is the unfortunate moment that Eddie realizes he has once again lost control of the room.
A situation he firmly blames on Steve Harrington, because he’s petty.
“Or did you forget that part? That’s you, me, Will, Nancy and Jonathan right there! Nevermind the tunnel. Or the junkyard!
“We had the junkyard handled--”
Lucas scoffs.
“We absolutely did not.”
“I don’t get why you’re all making such a big deal out of this. He’s the fighter. That’s what he does. That’s why we brought him to the tunnel.”
“You recall what happened at Starcourt, right?” Lucas challenges, furious. “You did see him after, right?”
This, finally, seems to shut Mike up.
“Shouldn’t you be mad at him for that?” He says after a moment, and the rest of Hellfire has completely put aside all actual gaming to watch this play out with a morbid sort of fascination.
Eddie allows it, only because he’s trying to breathe the way Wayne taught him to before he loses it entirely and throws both of the idiot kids out of the drama room.
“He pulled your sister into it.”
“Have you met Erica!? You can’t pull her into shit!” Lucas spits furiously. “That wasn’t D&D, Mike. It was the Upsi--real life.”
Lucas is quick to correct himself, even in the heat of the moment--as all the kids are, like the entire school hasn’t clocked that they have some weird ass secret they’re terrible at hiding.
“And if we’re playing those games, then who pulled him into the tunnels? Who made him come to the junkyard?”
“Dustin.” Mike says snidely.
“You don’t get to blame Dustin when Steve was the only person around.”
“There were people around! They just weren’t people who--weren’t--who couldn’t--”
“Finish that sentence.” Lucas demands
“Be trusted.” Mike spits out, like it hurts him.
“Exactly.”
“El went through way more than Steve ever has! El--”
“El was using her po--doing mage things! And also, she shouldn’t have had to go through all this shit either! We can’t rely on her to save the day every single time, Mike--and look at how hurt she gets!”
“She--”
“She hides it from you, you know. How bad she hurts. Cause she wants to put your feelings first.”
“I--”
“Will does too.”  Is Lucas’s parting shot. His backpack is in his hands in a blink, papers and character figure shoved wildly into it, before he’s storming out the door in a poor mimicry of Mayfield.
“Harrington T-Boned a car?” Grant says, in the resounding silence.
“That BMW of his hasn’t had a scratch on it--” Jeff says, with an inquisitive tilt to his head.
“He didn’t use the Beamer.” Mike interrupts, angry and sulking. “Are we playing or not?”
“I’m gonna say not, given we are down two players.’ Eddie tells him through clenched teeth.
“I’m going to be so mad if Steve doesn’t have a migraine.” Mike grumbles, as he begins packing up his stuff.
The rest of Hellfire follow his lead, after one look at Eddie’s face convince the lot of them that it’s best to flee now, before Eddie unleashes all his pent up rage.
“Not as mad as I’ll be, Wheeler.” Eddie promises darkly.
And it is a promise--because now, he’s going to follow all his stupid (sans Mike, who isn’t in his good graces either but at least stayed) freshmen--and go visit one fallen King.
If Harrington doesn’t have a headache now, he will when Eddie’s done with him.
