I had finished it last week, but my head wasn't quite cooperating. The following lines contain spoilers for the DnD adventure Waterdeep - Dungeon of the Mad Mage
This is Jerath from the DnD adventure Waterdeep - Dungeon of the Mad Mage. It is described as follows: Jerath. Jerath , a blinded githyanki knight with no eyes or armor(AC12), sits in a chair strumming a lute. His gearsword leans against a wall within easy reach.
And further: Jerath lost his eyes in a battle against the ulitharid on display in area 9. He saved Ashtyrranthor's life when she was a wyrmling, and she has cared for him since his injury.
I thought back and forth about what to do with the information. Especially how I treat his injury. Ulitharids are stronger MindFlayers and I was wondering how he could lose his eyes due to attacks from such a monster. Like every MindFlayer, Ulitharids also try to get to your brain. I thought such an attack (among many other possibilities) from the front would be one of the solutions to why his eyes are missing. And yes, I took the âno eyesâ quite literally. The indicated injury to the face comes from a Ulitharid mouth, with the area around his left eye being very and deeply damaged, which is why the eye patch and the injuries to the rest of the face come from teeth and other things. (I wish I could depict such injuries better.)

Commission for @plaguecleric of the Firbolg, Jerath Harjax!!
I donât often get to draw Firbolgs and I really fell in love with this design, thereâs honestly such an air of confidence and power from this fellow that it made the process feel like such a complete dream. Also absolutely adored rendering his hair in particular hehe

hi hello weâve never spoken but I saw your post about Ilu being hard of hearing, and I have githyanki lore about physical disability to share with you. (I hope this is okay đ
)
over several editions of D&D, there have been a few githyanki npcs who have some kind of physical disability. in edition 3.5, there were Zetchârâr (lost an eye, a major leader in an anti-Vlaakith faction) and Xamâkras (born without legs, Vlaakithâs #1 warlock). 4th edition had Zethirunn (curse-related disaster, uses full-body assistive devices to keep fighting). And 5th edition has Jerath (blinded in combat, still living in Creche Kâliir). it seems that while being able to fight is a major goal, which is in line with githyanki culture in general, physical disability isnât an automatic sentence to death or total exclusion from society.
do with this what you will, if anything, I just felt like this was lore you might be interested in. (I hope this isnât an overstep!!)
howdy! this isn't an overstep at all i am actually really glad you shared this with me! i am physically disabled myself and love githyanki SOOOO so much so this means a lot to me đĽş
thank you so much for these lore tidbits. i will have to look into these characters a bit!!

Just to show that I am not dead....or at least not really even I feel like it rn
The sketch has been sitting around unedited for a while. I actually wanted to do the line art for it, but my head has been hurting for almost a whole week. Maybe I should consider going to the doctor.
Jerath is this blind Githyanki Knight of Crèche K'liir. He can be found playing his lute in his quarters. When I'm finished with the little picture at some point, I'll explain a little bit about my thoughts and reasons for the chosen design. If you want to find out more about Crèche K'liir check out Dungeon of the Mad Mage. Or even play that Module. And hope your DM is a good singer~!

Breathing Techniques for Stress Reduction: A Comprehensive Review by Cheyanne Mallas

Stress is a prevalent issue in today's fast-paced society, affecting individuals in various aspects of their lives. While there are numerous strategies available to manage stress, breathing techniques have emerged as an effective and easily accessible tool for stress reduction. This comprehensive review aims to explore the different breathing techniques and their impact on stress management.
Body:
1. Diaphragmatic Breathing Technique:
Diaphragmatic breathing, also known as deep breathing or abdominal breathing, involves using the diaphragm to facilitate slow and deep breaths. This technique has been shown to activate the body's relaxation response, reducing stress and promoting a sense of calmness. Research suggests that diaphragmatic breathing can decrease cortisol levels, lower blood pressure, and enhance overall well-being (Ma et al., 2017). To practice diaphragmatic breathing, individuals should sit or lie in a comfortable position, place one hand on their abdomen, and slowly inhale through their nose while expanding the abdomen. Exhalation should be done slowly through the mouth, allowing the abdomen to contract.
2. Box Breathing Technique:
Box breathing, also known as square breathing, is a technique that involves inhaling, holding the breath, exhaling, and again holding the breath, each for equal durations. This technique helps to regulate the autonomic nervous system, promoting relaxation and reducing anxiety. Studies have shown that box breathing can improve heart rate variability and reduce symptoms of stress-related disorders (Jerath et al., 2015). Practitioners should sit in a quiet place, inhale deeply through the nose for a specified count (e.g., 4 seconds), hold the breath for the same count, exhale slowly through the mouth for the same count, and again hold the breath for the same count before starting the cycle again.
3. Alternate Nostril Breathing Technique:
Alternate nostril breathing, also known as Nadi Shodhana in yoga, involves breathing through one nostril at a time while blocking the other nostril. This technique helps balance the flow of energy in the body and promote a sense of harmony and relaxation. Research suggests that alternate nostril breathing can reduce sympathetic nervous system activity and increase parasympathetic activity (Telles et al., 2013). To practice this technique, individuals should sit in a comfortable position, close their right nostril using their right thumb, inhale slowly through the left nostril, close the left nostril using their ring finger, exhale through the right nostril, inhale through the right nostril, and continue the cycle by closing the right nostril and exhaling through the left nostril.
Conclusion:
Breathing techniques offer a valuable approach for stress reduction and overall well-being. Diaphragmatic breathing, box breathing, and alternate nostril breathing are just a few examples of effective techniques that have been extensively studied and shown to alleviate stress. Incorporating these techniques into daily routines can help individuals manage stress more effectively and improve their overall quality of life. Further research is warranted to explore the long-term effects and potential benefits of these techniques in different populations.

Jerath: Shake him down.
The things you do for love.
You did promise your matesprit youâd get out of the hive more, and she certainly did seem...taken with this crafty little bookseller. You have to admit, youâre somewhat curious yourself what this capitulating, smugly obsequious little nit might look like.
So far youâre unimpressed with this town. Itâs too warm, full of steam and charlatans. You feel totally out of place, and you wish you could draw a weapon--just for a little reassurance. Every time some machine or building hisses a gout of steam you resist the urge to jump out of your husk and smash it, in exactly that order. You are currently on your Best Behavior.
Of course this little fuck is holed up in Highfog. A more ostentatious admixture of dubious technology and arcane witchcraft could not exist anywhere else--and to think this place is nearly in your lawnring! Close enough that you have debated checking out the extensive archives to supplement your mythological research, but rejected the idea on the grounds that you would surely catch a haint if you stepped foot in that accursed library. Your fingers drift to your silver necklace idly as you think on it. At least youâve got some manner of protection, but the less time spent here, the better.
You hold Videâs hand (out of flushed affection, and not at all because you are scared of witches), and approach the door that she indicates is the correct one. You put on your sternest expression, flex instinctively, and knock as loudly as you fucking can. Youâll be damned if youâre the only jumpy one here.
