Let me tell you about this sublime being.

They are cool as hell. They are totally wicked smart. And also really fuckin dumb. They make me laugh every single day. They write incredible works of fiction for us, some filthy, some just pure loving domesticity. They never fail to make me feel special and I hope that they know that they are so freaking special and wonderful and truly a prince among men.

Bowman paused the transmission right before the end, her hand still hovered over the receiver right about to end the call. She was no longer looking up at the camera but he could see every detail of her face, aged prematurely by the worry she had no doubt felt for him. His mother was all he had back on earth and now he was millions of miles away from her. He couldn’t just sneak up next to her own the couch and rest his head against her shoulder in a wordless apology. It didn’t work like that anymore. He wasn’t 15.

If there was one thing about Mrs.Bowman she was a remarkably stubborn and resilient woman. He had to move her around homes a few times because of it. Dave knew she wouldn’t rest until she got a reply and damn well meant she wouldn’t be moving until she did. Mothers know how to get through to their sons, even if they’re just as stubborn as they are.

Dave spent the better part of an hour trying to figure out a message to send back, something useful and exciting rather than a status report. He smiled and told her of the more interesting parts of the journey, the conversations, the views- Frank tripping over a tool bag. Everything was going well… he was excited and apologetic- as uneventful as things were he wasn’t any less busy. A horrible excuse. Frank finds a way to message his parents every Wednesday.

Honestly chief, I forget that canon Jessy is brown. I have always seen her as a darker ginger than Squilf and striking an odd resemblance to her.

Idk why I just feel like Bramblestar has a type. Squilf coming to terms looking at a cat who looks like her replacement, and getting past that to realize that Jessy is a very different person.
