Sometimes we're our own cause of spiritual warfare

I feel like the imagery that we use to portray spiritual warfare is often that of a person who is drowning and is defeatedly fighting for her life beneath the surface of mighty waters. She kicks and screams only to find herself sinking further and further into the deep. The light from above becomes more faint. Hoping to gasp a breath of air to fill her weary lungs, she desperately reaches for God's hand to pull her up out of the water until she feels His familiar touch and herself being lifted from her struggle. Finally, after what had seemed to be an eternity, she breaks through the surface and is brought into the safety of her Father's arms.

But as for me, I don't feel that way- at least not this time. Just as a child walking dangerously close along the river's bank, I got too close with sin and found myself being pulled vigorously by its powerful current. As I battle for my life, for a breath of air, I am left vulnerable and weak, my body floating face-down on the water's murky surface. Unconscious, I bob along the river's bank with my lifeless arms extended from me. But by the grace of God, I'm just close enough for God to reach out for my hand and pull me out. He quickly begins CPR, pumping out the sinful, filthy water that has suffocated my lungs. I almost didn't make it, but God.

Testimony: near death, nearer to God♥️

My testimony is really something, growing up I’ve always been a chirpy child, always seeing the bright side of things. I got bullied growing up but still found love for people, even after they hurt me (all before I converted to Christ).

But my testimony isn’t my survival of physical bullying, it was dying at such a small age in my sleep, where I had already gotten stiff and had no color. every time my mom tells me this she gets this look where she’s just in deep thoughts and always talks about how God just manifested in that moment where she prayed and asked Him to bring me back, she did everything to get me to intake milk and surprisingly, God brought me back to life after that.

my second testimony was during a big stressful moment of my life, i was constantly stressed out due to a corporate and somehow contracted PVC around 2019-2020 and in 2023 before my church moved, the youth pastor there brought us up to pray for us who were sick, and when i say i felt something happened i felt it happen, i didn’t know of my healing from God until May 18, 2023.

on May 16, 2023, i got the scare of my life; one of the many fears i refused to go through as a little girl and had no other choice. i went to my dentist appointment and felt pretty good, but then during the day i felt pain in my stomach and figured i was just hungry and thought it would pass after i had eaten, my mum and i started to do walks at a mile we go to and by that time i had gotten worse and started to feel like i was going to throw up, instead of our usual prayer walks, we went to the hospital where i did throw up. i got the food poisoning controlled but the doctors were confused as to why i still had pain, they did a specific x-ray that i can’t recall the name of it where it lit up all the insides and in that x-ray they found my appendix swollen. my biggest fear was going under the knife and due to what i knew, i was fearful of the anesthesia going over the amounts, but God brought me a messenger that took me by surprise (which i won’t share).

after surgery my doctor came to ask me if i was sure i had PVCs and i was completely positive, i remember doctors telling me i needed surgery and others saying that wasn’t possible to fix it’s a forever health condition; but on May 18, 2023; i got the surprising news of my life that i was PVC free.

i later on explained to my brother and my friends how crazy God saved me, He permitted me to have food poisoning to find out i was near having my appendix exploding. this entire time i had ignored the pain where my appendix was because this entire time i thought it was air in my stomach but come to find out it wasn’t.

Jesus saved me 3 times; as a baby, as a young adult and now.

i know what non-believers are going to say; “why didn’t He not let you have that if He’s so merciful?” and what i’m honestly going to say is, it’s our fault for messing up, we’re the problem; God can alert us all He can to tell us we’re going the wrong path and it’s up to us if we harden our hearts to His voice. God gives chances, what’s the point in growing your faith if He doesn’t test your heart? what’s the point in miracles if you’re always healthy and always living an amazing life? i thought the biggest miracle was Him making my appendix not get taken out but the biggest miracle is Him allowing me to see my mistake and showing me His mercy in extending my life. God bless God, He’s amazing. God is so good and i’m forever grateful to Him for this.

I get that calling white lotus lbh a sticky little 'sheep' is a canon translation and stuck in the fandom now anyway, but I do feel the intended spirit of the original word wasn't the sheeple/dumb herd animal that's more common in the western world, but instead something actually conveying sweetness, innocence, purity and youth - lamb.

hii. your uncaring or cold f/o does in fact care quite a lot. especially in moments of weakness.

yes they care whenever you feel tired, burnt out and maybe they won't say anything. maybe it comes off like they don't care, but that would be ignoring how they find themselves taking up whatever work there might've been to do so you can rest a while longer without complaint. any 'oh you don't have to-'s get brushed off with a little 'go lay back down' or something similar. the shortness isn't because they're irritated, no, it's just because it's a little silly to them- yes, obviously they don't have to, but they're going to because they love you. maybe that's a little too sappy for them to voice, maybe they do reveal that, either way they'll find their way back to you whenever everything's set away and done. whether they're laying down with you or just sitting nearby and working on their own thing, they keep themself within arm's reach should you need anything.

yes they care whenever you're feeling sick or riding out any nasty symptoms. they'll go make any trips out for things you want or need without question, maybe making a quick promise that they'll be right back. maybe it's a little silly to think you're going to keel over in the handful of minutes they're at the store for, but they just don't want you to feel like you're suffering alone. they might not be feeling out whatever it is you are, but they still want to keep you company through it. maybe they hover just a little, if only just to monitor your symptoms, but rest assured they really don't mind doing whatever it is that makes you feel better. if you want a specific food or drink they'll be running through the rain if they have to to get it to you. if you wanna shower or take a bath but don't have the energy to set it all up or to really take care of yourself they're meticulous with it, setting out whatever they can remember you liking and what might help you feel better and keeping any touches gentle and delicate. if you just wanna lay down and have them nearby, they're happy to just stick around, so long as you can spare them the glances they're sneaking at you every now and then while you rest, relishing in the comfort and safety of the moment.

I thought of a silly concept where she (An Irish Orphan) started doing magic to give herself a world to look forward to and stuff yknow like, and give her motives cause the show just went "oooo murderous 9 year old" as if her basis's weren't a literal 30 year old who was a villain because of the fact she was only viewed for what she could provide

Teolaí is a lonely orphan... a very lonely orphan, nobody choose to hangout with her so she dedicated her life to just sitting by herself, using and training her magic to form herself a world where she lives in peace... and not viewed as a nuisance.
