Jason fumbling everyone in his life is actually really sad when you think about it because his love has always been doomed from the start.

Reyna being told by a goddess that no one else would heal her heart and her misinterpreting her and pushing Jason away, never getting to reconcile with him

Pipers love for him all being an illusion and a sick form of manipulation from the gods that by the time either of them realized what had happened it hurt them both

Leo knowing from the start it was him or Jason, and being so determined for it to be him cause he knew Jason was too good, and he knew he’d find a way back. But it didn’t matter anyways. Cause he was too late.

I get why Reyna chose another Praetor. She was leading this camp by herself I absolutely get why she would need someone to help her.

But I don't think that takes away from Jason feeling betrayed.

No one looked for him.

No one even tried.

And rather than pick someone more experienced, Reyna picked the first guy to walk through the door.

Not even that, she picked the least Roman like demigod (even before knowing he wasn't one) and than told Jason he was unrecognisable because he was "unroman like."

That has to sting.

And look I like Percy but that guy is completly unfit to be Praetor. He wouldn't have lasted 2 days in office if this went on for longer.

It's like wow not only you did you replace me, which I get why but it still hurts because you didn't even try to find me.

Weird how the non canon ships in Rick Riordan's books tend to have a better and more interesting history together, better chemistry, healthier dynamics,and feel more natural than the canon couples; plus a lot of wasted potential. Examples are Reyna x Jason, Nico x Percy, Rachel x Percy, Leo x Piper, Jason x Nico or Jason x Leo.

It's like the more Rick wants you to ship something,the more it feels forced and has red flags that are kinda hard to ignore. The only exception being Hazel and Frank
