A New Home

The reader was adopted by jimmy and Emily and she is like 13. Jimmy takes horses to john and he takes the reader and john helps the reader through like a panic attack or something like that when jimmy is with the bunkhouse boys

Jimmy smiles as he parks the big red 6666s truck near the main house on the Yellowstone Dutton ranch. He takes Emily's hand in his and looks back in the backseat at (Y/N), the 13 year old little girl that he and Emily had adopted. "You've got a whole family here waiting to meet you, sweetheart." He takes her hand and leads her over to the round pen where Mr. Dutton, Rip and Lloyd were gathered up. "Mr. Dutton, I want you to meet (Y/N), our adopted daughter." He smiles waving as the rest of the crew comes over. He looks at Rip and smiles. "Wanted to ask you about something, a surprise for (Y/N)" He says with a smile and pulls Rip away with him and Emily, leaving (Y/N) with John and Lloyd and the swarm of bunkhouse guys and gals coming to greet her. (Y/N) watches Jimmy and Emily walking away, her hands shaking softly as everyone swarms to meet her. She didn't like strangers, didn't like crowds and this..this was just too much. She felt her heart rate pick up and her breathing quicken. She looks over at Mr. Dutton with fear in her eyes only to feel his larger hand take hers in his and pull her into a fatherly hug. "Shhh it's alright, darlin'. Take deep breaths." He says softly and picks her up in his arms, carrying her to porch of the main house. He sits on the steps with her, glaring at the others as they try to come back over. "It's alright, darlin'. Beth used to go through these a lot. Just take slow breaths. The crew can get a little over excited with new people." He smiles and kisses the top of her head. (Y/N) slowly calms down and looks up at him, smiling back at him. She knew that no one here would harm her, she just wasn't used to having so many people care about her. "Thank you Papa John." She says softly and rests her head against his shoulder, watching the bunkhouse crew start working on breaking horses.

My morning started normal like any other. Me laying in the arms of my ranch hand boyfriend, Jimmy. My phone starts vibrating and he tries to keep me from answering it. "Just stay here. Y/n five more minutes." Shaking my head I pick up my phone seeing my sister Beth texting me about needing help in the office. "Jim, I've gotta go. Sis needs my help." He groans when I get up throwing my clothes on, grabbing my light brown hat. "I'll miss you, you know Y/n." He wines when I lean down kissing him quietly before I leave. "I'll see you later Jimmy." With that I sneak out of the Bunkhouse to my sister's car. "You don't have to hide him from daddy. He accepted Rip so there should be no problem with him." I nearly jumped out of my seat seeing my sister already waiting on me.

"Goodnight Beth nearly give me a heart attack." Resting a hand over my chest I try and catch my breath to which she shakes her head and smiled. "He'll accept Jimmy." It wasn't dad I was so worried about. It's my twin brother Kayce, he's always been super overprotective since we were little. Later that day Beth's assistant comes in with a package while we're looking over paperwork. "Oh that's not mine." My sister tells her to which the girl reads the name on the box. "It's addressed to the two of you." Lifting my head up I tilt my head in confusion. Who would send us something. "Wait I don't know what that is. Don't-" My sister cuts herself off when her assistant opens the box and we get blown backwards. Smoke clouds my vision as Iay on the floor feeling intense burning around ne right as I passed out.

A monitor beeping is the next thing I hear as I slowly opened my eyes seeing I'm laying in a hospital bed. "Shit dad ain't gonna like this." I cursed with a scratchy throat remembering that dad hated hospitals. "Y/n, oh thank god. I didn't think you were ever going to wake up." Squinting my eyes open again I finally noticed Jimmy at my bedside. He reached for my freehand that doesn't have an iv in it. "Ji - Jimmy...what happened?" He removed his cowboy hat sitting it on the bed trying to hold back tears. "People attacked the ranch. Rip found your dad all shot up. I - tried calling you but got no response. The next thing I know I'm getting a call that you were admitted here....I thought I'd lost you...I don't know what I'd do if I had." At the last part of his sentence he does let tears slip out eyeing me up and down.

"Hey Jim I'm okay. I'm right here...I'm not going anywhere." Reaching up I rest a hand to his cheek wincing a little in my back where I must have gotten burned. He sighs closing his eyes for a second then reaching into his pocket. "I uh - had this plan in my head but - fuck it. Y/n Dutton I love you and you love me. I never thought I would find love in the same place that gave me a job, but I did. So I'm asking will you marry me?" He holds up a small silver ring and I gasped feeling happy tears falling down my face. "Yes, yes, of course I will cowboy." He slips it on gently pulling me into a hug. I wrap my arms around his neck knowing no one can hurt me again when I'm right by his side.

My Boss

"Jimmy stop fidgeting. Everything will be fine." I reached over the counsel as he nervously tapped his fingers on the steering wheel. Today is the day he decided to introduce me to his boss John Dutton. He leans back in his seat glancing to the backseat watching our newborn daughter Leia sleeping peaceful. "I'm just afraid he'll kick me off the ranch after seeing I'm a father." Turning his chin so he'll look at me he sighs as I smiled weakly. "You gave him the rest of your life. I don't think he'd just toss you off because of this."

Opening my truck door I climbed out first opening the backseat gently lifting up our daughter hopefully to not wake her from her nap. She was always hard to get back to sleep if she was woke up during her daily naps. Jimmy slowly closes his door walking at my side closely. My eyes catch on a big Y on a giant barn where we see an elderly man getting off a horse. "Excuse Mr. Dutton, can I talk with you?" Jimmy asked his voice cracking a little. Mr. Dutton exited the barn coming towards us. "Sure Jimmy. What's up?" I shift our daughter in my arms biting my lip suddenly feeling nervous in the presence of the famous John Dutton, the owner of the largest ranch in Montana.

"Sir, I - uh - I'd like to introduce my girlfriend and our daughter Leia." Jimmy stuttered playing with his fingers in front of him, glancing at his boots. John stepped up to me eyeing me up and down as I smiled. He slowly reached to touch my daughter who yawns waking up from her nap. She giggles trying to clap her getting a hold of his thumb making a smile grow on John's face. "She's so adorable." Jimmy's head shot up at his words looking to me giving me a head nod to ask for the favor. "Mr. Dutton, if it isn't too much trouble to ask...well we have no where to stay and-"

John held up his hands cutting me off with a grin on his face. "Say no more. Now normally I wouldn't allow women to stay in the Bunkhouse. But Jimmy you've working here for awhile. You've been loyal. So they're free to stay." Jimmy gasped removing his hat for a second smiling like a child. "Thank - thank you, sir." John tips his hat at me heading towards his house. "It was nice to meet you Y/n." I smiled leaning into Jimmy who hugged me from the side.
