Random shit No.1 -> I made a post here about JK's type and Jimin's lips keep popping up on every sm recently so they've been on my mind. Which is y I remembered a tiny thing from Bon Voyage season 1 ep 1. Keeping in mind Jin and Jimin are the 2 members with full lips (and RM some but not as much as Jinmin) it would make perfect sense that they are the 2 JK would zoom in on when interviewing them

Random shit No.2 -> Remember this post I made about Jikook living together, remember how I said it was weird Jimin was the only one who didn't have anywhere to live? Well recently this Karmy was talking about how hard it was for Jimin to leave his dorm life since he loves being around BTS sm

Then this Kjikooker chimmed in on how JK bought Jimin an apartment to make him feel better 🥺🥺🥺

So guess the theory is that JK is the one who bought Nine-one for them seeing as they were both living there. I mean if anyone should know its fans who live there, right?

When u really think about it, it all comes together because JK moving into Brunnen... a house owned by the company with furniture from the old dorm...proving just how temporary that place is...which again makes sense coz of the house he's building in Itaewon.....

While we are on topic, there is a moment missing on my living together post but we all know it very well.

If you pay close attention to Jimin you will notice him subtly lifting his eyebrow. Its so subtle that idek how people noticed. JK looks at Jimin while members are laughing at him and Jimin does that. 🤭 So yeah, that coupled up with the fact that they were all making fan of JK and his mattresses but Jimin who under normal circumstances would be part of the discussion was quiet as a church mouse. That was incredibly sus.

Random shit number 3-> is a tiny BV analysis coz we know how much i love those. Okay so JK climbs up a steep hill without cameras at the crack of dawn to get his baby some snow. We know all about that. So tkkrs the morons that they are, tried to claim this moment for themselves because JK showed the snow to V first and offered him to touch if he wanted to. But, aside from JK waiting for Jimin to come out, apart from him jumping up eagerly to show Jimin the snow, apart from him watching Jimin's face to see his reaction when he handed him said snow, and apart from editors saying point blank that JK got a gift for Jimin, we also have this;

Season 4 episode 3. Members play RPS and losers have to climb the hill and bring back snow.

Someone i dont remember who, says that the snow will melt

But JK who's a professional of bringing snow from mountains by now, chims in

He already knows its not gonna melt since he did it before. Now he says that and then looks at Jimin and keeps looking at him

Doesn't once break eye contact. This here makes it perfectly clear that he got the snow for Jimin and no one else. JK stares at his boyfriend for so long that Jimin has to look away/looks down 😂😂

And JK still looking at him 🤭🤭 This dude just makes me so happy to watch Jikookery stg 🤣🤣 what does he want from Jimin?

Random shit No.4 -> while we are talking about BV there is something that happens i had to take note of. Yoonmin are the ones who lost and had to go up the hill to get the snow. When the rest got back to the cabin, Jhope was making people this magic toast with his secret recipe. This shit was so funny y'all should be able to remember it. He was so proud of it 🤣🤣 Anyway, when Yoonmin got back, Jhope asked Jimin if he wanted his special toast.

But here comes the kicker. Jhope uses JK to convince Jimin to have the toast.

This, ladies and gentlemen are the reflexes i was talking about. It's not just Jikook keeping the secret that they are dating. It's the members too. And sometimes they will slip. Our president being the main culprit. 🤭🤭🤭 what does it matter that JK liked the toast? Suga and Jin had the toast too. Why is JK the member he uses to appeal to Jimin?

Jijinjung: Claws Out

When the story is hidden in the negative

Therefore here's a look back at 6 years ago.

Foreword (main content below the cut): wobbled back and forth on whether to post this or not but as you can see, I've landed on 'Y'.

I reason that with the cloak of Jinkook, I've already repelled like 92-97% of the fandom so my corner on the outlier won't cause any waves & there's isn't any true knowledge of the actual cause AND this is an incident from their distant past. A month ago I was determined to do a long written form version of that Jinkook jealous tiff from back in November 2017, this one:

However, when replaying the fancam countless times to capture my silly lil screenshots and gifs, I found a different angle of the story that is much more plausible to me and unfortunately, not quite Jinkook-centered. It's a bit more like Jk got caught up in the middle of it.

The two leads are Jin and Jimin (again). So... this factored into my hesitation to post(Jinkook is still present but it's bittersweet).

⚠️ Contrary to the last petty argument pointed out between Jin and Jimin, this one implies a more serious fight. Please read at your own discretion. ⚠️

Please also remember that this is solely an outside perspective of the whole ordeal.

Due to there being no audible dialogue from the fancams and my inability to read lips and transcribe romanized Hangul, the content of the quarrel is still very much a mystery. Therefore, this analysis is highly interpretive.

I'm only going off the physical actions, looks, and reactionary effects visible from the fancams.

After this one, things will be back on track~ Got no more Jinmin cards hidden up my sleeve.

Alright, story time🌙

It's 1 November 2017, and BTS had just returned to work after a short break over the last week of October.

Spirits in the team should be high because the members had spent their vacation relaxing or traveling; where especially of note was Jimin and Jungkook that went to Tokyo together (Oct 28-30). The Jikook trip was a pretty big deal because at that time no two members have ever travelled alone to another country before.

Their first schedule was performing for the Pyeongchang Olympics G-100 Concert, and Bangtan had gathered onstage for the ending ensemble song rehearsal.

BTS were waiting on standby like the rest of the singers, and 2seok had a cute lil interaction at the very start of the video. Jin gestured for Hobi to stand on his right and when moving over, both reached around each other for some playful butt pats.

Take note of Hobi's surprise at Jin returning the playfulness, it seemed like Jin was acting a bit out of sorts in his eyes.

Almost instantly, a slick Jungkook slid into frame after and made sure to get close enough to Jin for his jacket to brush against his arm.

I won't derail into giving examples of Jk making his presence known to Jin whenever someone is threatening his spot. There will be no end to this post. But veteran Jinkookers, I know you have a montage of sulky Jk in your minds ready to go 🙌

And if you're unsure if Jk's subtle bump against Jin had anything to do with 2seok, don't fret for Jk will follow up.

Soon, all the singers were directed to move forward on the stage.

While trudging up, Jin turned around to tell Jk about something he pointed at and ushered him up to the very front (probably because he was going to be in the ensemble).

It's clear there weren't any signs of tension between Jinkook yet:

Notice that Jimin was also selected to sing for the ensemble but Jin didn't seem to care or acknowledge this, for he passed up Jimin in his line of sight when turning to Jk.

Soon they eventually ended up standing in these haphazard positions, with Jk in the front by himself, and Jin shoulder to Jimin:

Jin's disdain for Jimin is subtle still because he hadn't shown any obvious signs of hostility yet.

But we could glean some unpleasantry by when Jimin turned towards him and he remained staring ahead, not responding in the slightest. Jimin then turned back to the front without doing or saying anything else.

The tension had began brewing, but was still minimal.

Next up, is when the conflict starts to crystallize. And we have secretary Min Suga to thank for making it apparent. For a couple of significant things happened at the same time.

Firstly in the new positions they were at, Jk was in the very front so none of the members were in his field of vision. Now let's watch him do a ballet turn as he tried to nonchalantly check on 2seok behind him:

Peg how Hobi looked back at Jk like he felt Jk's eyes on him. And peg Jimin, who was just an instrument in Jk's play of nonchalance. He didn't bother responding to Jk although he said something.

Additionally, look at how Jk took advantage of the momentum to take a step backwards - to be closer to Jin - but simultaneously also leaned in to Jimin. Yeeahh.. wasn't the best move.

The second significant event was the eternal roommates' whisper conversation while Jk was doing his lil twirl. Yoongi leaned in behind Jin, said something to him and then with a whip of their heads, both looked intensely over at Jimin.

This was the first obvious sign of discord.

Now from the angle of the fancam, I'm not sure if Jimin could see Jin turning to look at him but almost like a response, Jimin leaned away and moved to the left, pulling Jk along.

Looked like he was using Jk as a buffer between him and Jin 😂

Then next... came The Glare.

(BTW I know I'm picking apart everything to shreds lol I'll provide a summary at the end for anyone who doesn't want these hyper-analyzed break downs)

Within a span of 3 seconds, a flurry of events set in motion one of Jin's fiercest expressions to date. Being Jin biased, I focus on him a lot and I can say this for sure, it's different from when he smolders on stage or blinks hangrily. On a good day, he's a pro idol and knows how to control his expressions in public, but this day he let out an emotion I rarely see him show.

The chain of actions went down like this: Yoongi first said something to Joon, then Joon leaned forward to whisper to Jk. Jk turned to his right to hear Joon better and when this was happening, Jin was gesturing at something and turned to his left as if reporting to Yoongi, but then you find out his real motive was so that he could catch Jk's gaze and give him this incredibly intense warning:

I will wither like a daisy sprayed with pure bleach if he looked at me like that.

Jin-san is big mad.

The Glare could be a little confusing as to why suddenly Jin was mad at Jk but a connection can be made. There was already something going on between Jinmin and when Jk didn't draw a clear line from Jimin, he incurred Jin's wrath as well. Leaning closer to Jimin? Walking towards Jimin? Hmph.

There's another layer to this: that Jk was also involved in whatever angered Jin. He had gotten a pass at first but when he didn't make a stand for Jin or show any remorse (roughly speaking), Jin decided to retract his leniency. I'm only adding this layer based off Jin's behavior since the beginning of the video - being extra touchy with Hobi and later on with Tae and B.A.P Youngjae. Just remember that he's in the middle of a quarrel so you can't take his 'cheeriness' to be what it is. Dare I say Jin was being chummy with others to elicit Jk's unhappiness? It does look that way.

Ultimately, The Glare is thanks to Jinkook's special relationship, giving us an honest display of emotions from Jin. You rarely ever see him losing his cool in public but when it comes to Jk, Jin won't hesitate to show what he feels.

*Side note: There's more to dive into on how Jk isn't very attuned to others' feelings so Jin has to make it extra clear when he wants him to know.

A glimpse of this trait can be seen here lol because when Jin glared that hard at Jk, Jk still didn't get it at first 😂

Right after Jin shot laser eyes at him, Jk was just freed from RM's whispering, so you'd think he would check on Jin or would be affected by the glare... nah, he turned around to start singing playfully with Yoongi:

Jk probably did get a hint that Jin was mad because after a beat, he turned to stare unabashedly at Jin as if observing him. Jin soon started to playfully sing at Yoongi and only paused for a fraction of a section for his gaze to land on Jk - and only then did Jk turn away...still looking dazed but he got it this time 😂

I'll save the deep dive into Jk's headspace for another time.

And hence why the difference to how Jin displayed his anger against Jimin and against Jk. Jimin cares and will be highly reactive to others' emotions, but for Jk, you gotta spell it out for him. And when he does get it (and does care) he's gonna be extra, extra affected. Simply because less gets past his walls and his lil internal soldiers are less experienced with warfare. Therefore for Jimin, he plainly got ignored whilst Jk got a big dose of laser eyes.

Then let's switch focus briefly to the two rappers in the back - Yoongi and Namjoon.

These looks... Their reactions to the Jijinjung conflict was what really made me believe the Jikook trip by itself wasn't the cause of the tension. tbh I also don't see Jin getting so riled up two days later after Jikook arrived back in S.Korea. If anything, it felt like something that just happened before the fancam where Jimin did something to offend Jin, possibly involving Jk. I'm a Jnkkr so that might sound like I'm suggesting those two made out behind Jin's back or something but NOOO!! Not in that direction. Pls don't go there, delulu is welcome here but it has to have some moral limits. Honestly, I've got no idea...if you think you do, pls dm me ✨ I need some enlightenment.

(Can you guys believe we're only 1 minute into the fancam? LOL🕺🏻 Don't worry, the most important actions already occurred. I'll be fast forwarding through the remaining 3 minutes.)

Previously, I called him Secretary Min Suga because he seemed to have a grasp on the whole situation from start to finish and played advisor to various members.

Sin's second whisper conversation started up when:

Look at how Yoongi gestured for Jin to come closer so he may rest a whole elbow comfortably on the length of his shoulder. And Jk was listening.

In fact, after Jin heard something and went 'EH?' in an irritated manner, Yoongi continued talking and then Jk reacted to the convo by looking down and leaning away sulkily:

It's quite clear that Sin weren't chatting about dinner or the weather; it had something to do with Jk. Subsequently for the remainder of the video, Yoongi's little glances at Jk and Jimin also gave most of the content away. It also looked like Jin's final answer mouthed to Yoongi's questions was 'I don't/didn't know' ...hm.

At this point Jinkook who were standing pretty close together at first now had this ocean wide of a gap between them.

Later on, Secretary Min also whispered with Leader Kim and Jk saw this and wanted to hear the contents. Yoongi rejected Jk with a shake of his head and a kind smile.

🥲 Jk and Jimin were being shut out by the rest.

Meanwhile Jin, the one who's slighted, didn't seem to want to show too much negativity so he was doing his best talking and singing along with Hobi and Tae on the sidelines. Those two might not look like they were aware but they were, they're just choosing to stay above it.

As mentioned earlier, Jin got chummy with Tae. When Tae started mimicking the solo singer belting out a high note, Jin played along.

Tae had placed his hands around Hobi and Jin's shoulders, then moved to only Jin... just in time to catch Jungkook watching from the corner of his eyes:

Poor Tae... gotta say Jk's glare was much more effective than Jin's at making the other party shrink.

...Refer to the video for how distinct the mood was between the two groups: Jimin and Jk~ singing stiffly during their lines and those not in the song~ having fun lip-syncing. It's also noticeably how Jimin hadn't spoken or interacted with anyone except Jk.

My heart ached when Jk spotted Jin having fun during his second verse, and Jk tried to catch Jin's smile but failed.

How dare you ignore Jk. I'm sorry. But like how dare you Jin.

It must have been especially uncomfortable for Jk when he saw Jin throwing himself onto B.A.P. Youngjae, as they were dismissed from the stage:

His eyes never left Jin when walking off

Jk's unhappy gaze trained onto a specific direction

Hobi had also seen Jin and Youngjae, and seemed to be semi-reassuring (?) Jk by gently ushering him away.

The tension that built during the span of the rehearsal fancam did not go away in the remaining parts of the day. In fact, I'd say it culminated at an all-time high during the ending performance of the ensemble song that night.

Before getting to their official performance at night, there's another fancam where they were by themselves.

Their group rehearsal for DNA and Fire:

For the most part I couldn't see anything off but some instances did give away the individual member's mental state.

Example, during DNA, Jin and Tae were relaxed enough to be playing around with each other

Much like they were before during the ensemble song fancam.

Then between the two songs, BTS practiced a short segue into the second song and it's not common to see Jk with his head down while Jin was talking and then fully turning his body to block him out... (starts at around 4:07...I've hit the pic limit lol)

Jk also seemed tired and out of it during Fire:

'Tis why I say when he's affected, he's really affected.

I don't think a point-by-point break down is necessary for the ending stage Butterfly of the night. The tension was evident and consistent.. and made me super uncomfortable to rewatch once I was aware of the atmosphere and the split down the middle of the group.

There's also another angle from a different fancam, where you could see Jimin and Jk at the front row by themselves while the others stayed back.

Cameras and eyes were trained onto them so everyone was doing their best to smile and sway to the music. But these genuine kids... they can't ever hide their emotions entirely which for this case is heartbreaking to watch.

The two singing (🐥🐰) were standing there with their hands clasped together, the trio (🐻🐹🐿️) on the right seemed to be pretty cheerful while two remaining (🐱🐨) at the back weren't as stiff but also not quite relaxed. The whole group dynamic was off that night.

And Jk especially couldn't hide how bothered he was... like when he spotted Jin 'having the time of his life' (probably not tho), he who was also softly lip-syncing a moment ago, stopped short:

Later on when the fireworks started startling everyone on stage, Jimin and Jk reacted in that 'tense but still wants to give some reactions' sort of way (like me at a birthday karaoke bar) while everyone behind them were literally running away.

Yeah...it was not a great day for the whole team overall.

Dear reader, if you've come this far and still aren't convinced that Jinmin were locked in a standoff during the entire day of Nov 1, as always BTS will clear the air themselves. (The Jinkook side of things was louder and I'm sure you could follow my train of thoughts better 😉)

The outro to this whole debacle can be found in the AskAnythingChat interview released half a year later in April 2018. WOOPDIDA!!!🧚🏽‍♀️ Yee, it's connected to November 1, 2017. Who knew that meme of a video had traces of drama gun powder eh😏

Because the interview happened only a mere 2 weeks after that day:

One of the many times I'm thankful for their hair colors that found me the filming date.

I believe those who had watched the interview already know the parts I'm about to mention. (3:37 & 5:12)

Even if you've never seen the whole thing you've definitely seen I LOVE HAMBURGER AND SPRITE✨

The basic structure was MC Jin reading the questions in English and the rest answering the questions to the best of their ability.

The question that gave the baby chick a chance to finally strike back against his Jin hyung on camera was this:

WHAT DO YOU GUYS ARGUE ABOUT THE MOST?

I could almost see the wheels turning in Jimin's head as he got ready to strike LOL

"Maybe you." Jimin said in a serious tone, pointing at Jin.

And everyone seemed a little confused because the atmosphere was still goofy a second ago. Then the Kim brothers all chorused in response ("What-What-Mo?"), to which Jimin simply repeated what he said in Korean, and everyone suddenly got the reference. When everyone's reactions were in unison, that's when you know they're thinking of that same, specific instance.

MC Jin had to continue the interview so he went, "Ahh~ EE, what kind?" Well now that you've brought it up...say it.

At the counterattack, Jimin got flustered and said, "Eohh... sorry." Eh, never mind I can't say.

Which prompted the whole team to start giggling. Yes.. he couldn't say what exactly and apologized quickly. (Also, I found it cute that Tae leaned forward when Jimin was hesitating, like he was warning his chingu with his eyes, 'Are you really going to say it?' and then laughed when Jimin just went "sorry.")

And the speed at how RM moved it along ("OK." That's enough) and Jin following with "Ok, ok, next question!" Jimin was also suddenly co-hosting, "Ok! Let's go, next question!" Teamwork✨ y'all.

Overall, from the tittering laughter and amused reactions, it's clear that they had all gotten over the argument and were no longer harboring residual unhappiness.

However, it was a pretty big quarrel after all and maybe the baby chick just wanted to get the last word in.

As one jab wasn't enough for his unserious Jin hyung, there came a second 😂

Double whammy. I think Jimin was satisfied with this final blow because Jin played along 😆 This was probably the last time we got a glimpse into this disagreement. I'd say it ultimately ended on a good note because the whole team was feeling good about cracking jokes, and neither of the two leads seemed to have taken anything to heart.

Conclusion time.

So an 'incident' had occurred on or before November 1 between Jin and Jimin, where Jimin seemed to have been the provoker. Jin was quietly freezing Jimin out, when out stepped Jk, not grasping the situation and only concerned about all the skinship his Jin hyung was getting. It's likely the conflict also had something to do with Jk because Jin seemed to be holding it in at first, but finally exploded at him on stage with a warning glare. Jk soon got the message and was adversely affected for the rest of the day as well.

The tension spread quickly throughout the team and while some were able to excuse themselves from the drama, some were stuck in the middle of it. The tension did not dissipate all day and was especially strong at the end of the night. How the quarrel was broken up is unknown, but likely was not dragged on because of BTS' policy: talk it out before the day ends. So although we didn't get to see the resolution, there probably was one once they were all alone.

About 2 weeks later, the guys were in America for their promos and attending the AMAs. During one casual interview, Jimin found an opportunity to 'strike back' at his Jin hyung for freezing him out on that cold November day. Jin took it in stride and everyone could finally relax about the whole ordeal.

Regarding the content of the fight:

It couldn't be something as simple as Jin being jealous over the Jikook trip. I say this because of how quickly and surely Yoongi and Namjoon sided with Jin. Their reactions seem to indicate that Jimin was the party at fault. Simply jealousy couldn't have incurred such a strong response from these two cool-headed cats.

Another aspect solely regarding Jimin - he's generally a very caring and considerate person, so whatever he did probably wasn't something he felt like was deliberately wrong. It's possibly a clash of values or an accident of some sort. Unfortunately Jin did take offense to the cause, and subsequently, everyone except Jk seemed to take Jin's side. Later on his jabs at Jin in the AAC interview also showed that he still felt defensive or maybe wronged over the whole ordeal. I don't know what was at the core of their fight but for some reason, I think I'm siding with Jimin again for this one. Just based off how everything looked, I didn't like the way the boys froze him out. (Jimin, did you maybe destroy Jin's pink hoodie? What other heinous crime could it be)

Lastly, I have this small piece to add onto the validity of the existence of the Jinmin squabble...

At the Macau stop of their Wings tour on Nov 4, Jimin had to sit out on choreography due to muscle pain in his neck and shoulders. As someone who has frequently experienced stress before in the same manner, I believe the conflict might have had something to do with Jimin's health issues.

More footage on Jimin and BTS during that period can be found in their documentary series Burn the Stage and various fancams. As Jimin was in a vulnerable state, I won't be showing anything here, feel free to look them up.

But do watch this if you need a wholesome reason to cry because you will over how everyone took turns cheering Jimin up during Spring Day:

He's too hard on himself I feel. It seemed like everyone had already let go but he was still dwelling on it alone. Look at how all the members were joking around him 🙆 That's why this team is a team y'all. They never leave anyone behind if they're down.

Personal note: I think I get how Jimin felt because I've also had instances where I acted carelessly and caused someone to be upset, and this in turn stressed me out and I couldn't stop thinking about the situation even after days have passed.

Hey! I have been a Jikooker for a few years but since the past year, I’ve transitioned into thinking that Jikook are just close friends with no romantic association. During my time as a dedicated Jikook supporter, I’ve found a bunch of lovely Jikook blogs (you included) and I have closely followed and interacted with many of ya’ll for a while. Since my opinions on Jikook have changed and don’t necessarily match the blogs that I still follow, the logical thing for me to do was to move on and stop being so tuned in to Jikook Tumblr right? And Jikook topics too because I still enjoy their bond even though I don’t think they’re dating. I can’t seem to let go of the community aspect y’all have built here. I feel like I’ve gotten to know a lot of you bloggers well (as much as you can know a stranger online lol) so completely leaving this space kinda feels suspiciously like ending a friendship. first of all i LOVE jinmin, our bad drama acting duo, they’re so sweet and post the most dazzling selfies/videos together, and jin’s #1 assistant/photographer when he used to post his cooking diary was jimin which is :,( also jin entrusted jimin with shooting his early eat jin vlogs which is :,,,(((( i’m pretty sure jin takes jimin out with him everywhere like a little pocket cutie, and we all know they’re drinking buddies and also test out new restaurants together (jin also tests all his jokes on jimin this is proven) TL;DR they hang out all the time

@ analysis anon: this is probably going to be less evidence-based analysis and more just my thoughts, especially bc I think jinmin is one of the most stable ships in bts and haven’t changed too much?

let me begin: 

despite his fake complaints, jimin is always (if not laughing) giving jin’s jokes the Respect they deserve. and while it’s kind of jm’s thing to be the twerp who teases hyung-ln ruthlessly, all while being super obedient/helpful, he also finds jin lovable and cute and actually just listens to what he has to say, jokes or not. jin knows this and trusts that jimin will be there for him – ergo why he takes jimin with him to explore new ideas/places

imo jimin’s someone who isn’t too sure about his likes + dislikes hobby-wise, and i think that’s why he enjoys hanging out with people who have really strong… drives/passions/and just understand who they are? (i.e. jin 100%) jimin’s tendency to be overly self-conscious pales next to jin’s confident energy. jimin can forget about his insecurities when they’re together, and pretty much lets jin take the lead most of the time, which is a rarity. basically jimin’s witchcraft doesn’t work on jin, so his desire to be kind of dominant sometimes, or to just flirt with dynamics, is blown out the window.

they’re very comfortable with touching e/o and it’s a mutual comfort!!! they don’t hesitate, it’s just domestic x9000. (jin chucking jimin under the chin, RIP me) and i actually find both jin and jimin kind of hesitant/careful usually when it comes to PDA, but i don’t sense that at all when they’re with e/o

continuing with comfort: they’re both so emotionally expressive and really honest that way, so they never have to worry about guesswork when they communicate

bc jinmin have been mostly-not-center-vocal-ln and don’t necessarily participate in too much songwriting/producing/music direction etc., there’s less of a professional wall between them than say, either of them and hyung-ln. positions are NOT all that matter in a relationship, but i think both of them have wanted to contribute more musically to the group, but being less production-driven, have struggled with exactly how. they’ve probably felt a kinship through that

one thing i can say may have changed in their r/s is only surface level, since jin’s come out of his shell more in public. i remember watching the jinmin hotel-room-push-up-competition-slipper-slapping bangtan bomb and noting just how much more subdued jin was back then. he definitely had the same sense of humor w/ different delivery, but jinmin have kind of switched roles now: jimin being the more rational one and jin the more outrageous one fdjsl. but what hasn’t changed is how much they’ve consistently been there for e/o

I'm surprised how jikookers don't seem to talk much about Jimin and Jin's conversation in this Vlive about Jungkook's bag. By the way, I love this Vlive, it's one of my favourites of these two. They're always chaotically funny.

So, the conversation. They talked about how they both gave Jungkook a bag to replace the ugly bag he was using at the time and how Jin "lost the competition" when Jimin gave his gift to JK.

This is not an analysis, it is just an account of the facts.

Jin gave his gift to jungkook first, jungkook liked it and said he was going to use it during the tour but the next day jimin gave his gift to jungkook and jin knew that his bag had lost the "competition", according to jin because jimin's gift was nicer but... jungkook was using the ugly canon bag up to that point, I don't think he cared if one bag was "nicer" than the other. Interesting right?

This is where perhaps the most interesting part during the conversation happened:

Jin said that he still had a little hope that Jungkook would use the bag and Jimin started searching HIS room (at the beginning of the vlive Jimin said it was his room) for the bag...why would Jungkook’s bag be in Jimin’s room?

Another funny thing that happened is that when Jin asked if Jungkook would watch the vlive, Jimin in a shy voice... said no.

Jin also said that if the bag had been the size he had originally asked for Jungkook would have liked it better than the bag Jimin gave him, to which Jimin said confidently: No.

After this Vlive something interesting also happened. Although Jimin said that Jungkook wouldn't see that Vlive and therefore wouldn't know about the conversation he and Jin had about the bag, a few days later in Joon's birthday Vlive if I remember correctly, Jungkook made the comment that Jin had complained that he hadn't used the one he had given her. How did Jungkook find out?

The funny thing about all this is that neither Jimin nor Jin could get Jungkook to throw away the bag they tried to replace with their gifts. Jungkook still uses that bag although nowadays he doesn't carry it but one of his managers does. This picture is from December 2019 at the airport 😂

I fully agree with your analysis of wanru; a lot of people somehow do not acknowledge the hardships she goes through as a character and you acknowledged them in such a cogent manner

Xie Wanru gets really bad press and I can understand why. After all, it’s rather easy to lump her in with other spiteful, plotting women... who, when you think about it, are not that similar at all. The Rebel Princess gives us female antagonists in all shapes and sizes, and with all kinds of motivations too. There are definite shades to their spite and some of them are more justified than others in their shady deeds.

Xie Wanru, Empress Wang, Wang Qian, Su Jin'er... They've all been dealt very different cards and their subsequent actions should be judged in direct relation to that, as should their individual level of spite and the way they choose to express it. And at the end of the day? Xie Wanru, for all that she may be an Empress, gets the short end of the stick.

The one who I really have a problem with is Su Jin'er, who has started off in objectively the best position out of all our female characters. Sure, she's not a princess, but... Actually, what is she? In the book, she's born in a dance studio and is not told who her father is until after her mother dies. There is an implication that the father might have been a figure of some status, but we're also told that such children are usually left behind and that girls often get taken into some dignitary's house as small concubines. Su Jin'er escapes that fate by being noticed by Auntie Xu and is subsequently taken in as a servant. In the drama, we're not given this or any other backstory for Su Jin'er, but one thing is clear: there is not even the smallest implication that being taken into the Wang household wasn't the best possible fate she could have had. And believe me, with her level of spitefulness, if there was any inheritance or status due to her and then denied in her service to the Wangs, it would have come up sooner or later.

And it's pretty clear that whatever Su Jin'er's actual status, she is no mere rank-and-file servant. More of a companion. At no point, not even back in the Wang Manor does she dress or behave like other servants; why, in the very first episode she roughhouses with not only Awu, but also the young master of the house. She's an obvious favourite, occupying a position that could very well belong to a less illustrious blood relation and often dressing just like an unmarried well-bred lady of some means. Why, in episode 40 lesser maids hand her out of the carriage with a degree of respect due to a mistress and not another servant.

She also has every reason to expect to make a brilliant marriage once she's of age. Awu would have made sure of that, we know that much. What kind of marriage could that be? No concubinage for Su Jin'er, that's for sure. No, most probably she would get a substantial dowry and become the main wife of an army officer (we know Hu Guanglie sees nothing wrong with potentially seeking a match among Awu's maids) or perhaps a merchant. Or perhaps a civil servant or a minor noble, depending on that dowry and on Awu's continued favour. Turnip's patronage would have counted for a lot as well. I also get the feeling Awu would have wanted to see Su Jin'er situated just as well as Yuxiu, so there would be probably no expense or influence spared in order to achieve that goal.

And if Su Jin'er didn't want to marry? Well, unlike Xie Wanru, Awu, Empress Wang, Mi'er and Gu Caiwei, she has the luxury not to do so. She can simply stay on with Awu and in time take the place of an honoured matron, Awu's second-in-command. Not unlike Auntie Xu or Empress Wang's main attendant (Nanny Evil), or Xie Guifei's and then Xie Wanru's trusted servant (Nanny Sus). It's not a bad fate. And with the way Awu treats her childhood companion, it's also her choice. Nobody is going to force her to do anything. As long as the Wangs and the Yuzhangs have a smidge of power and influence, she would have been safe; and during her childhood she could count on Princess Jinmin taking an interest in her fate as well.

There is also no suggestion of mistreatment going on there. Xiao Qi certainly isn't going to meddle with his wife's servants and Awu herself takes the sancticity of her household seriously, going as far as to take Yuxiu's side over her own cousin's. I doubt it would be different with Su Jin'er. Any snobbery shown by Wang An doesn't count as it starts only after Su Jin'er inexplicably becomes an Imperial Concubine, reappearing miraculously and climbing the ranks with her mistress presumed dead or at best a traitor.

Even Su Jin'er's accusation that Awu should have known of her secret feelings for Zitan make little sense. Hadn't Su Jin'er spent years encouraging their romance and spinning fantasies about entering their household as Awu's trusted companion? Awu is not actually telepathic. And it's fully possible that if Su Jin'er confessed her true feelings at any time after Huizhou, Awu would have offered to help in any way she could. No skin off her nose if Zitan takes a concubine or five; it's betrayal and selling her to Helan Zhen that Awu takes umbrage to, not Su Jin'er getting Zitan's flute.

To recap: Su Jin'er enjoyed safety and some degree of privilege with comparatively little being demanded of her in return. She could choose to marry or not, depending on personal preference and was guaranteed a position of respect and honour for life without needing to risk her life for it (hello, Hu Yao, my love!). Hell, if she wanted to marry she could probably have any man she wanted except those at the very echelons of power. The world was her oyster!

And then she threw it all away, all her brilliant prospects, her integrity, any bonds of friendship and sisterhood, her honesty, dignity and even self-respect... for a man. Which, to me, is a shitty motivation, but understandable to a degree if one gets some reciprocity and/or if the man in question is even remotely worth it. Not that any man is worth that much! And certainly not Zitan.

In my opinion Zitan is not worth breaking a favourite mug, much less one's life. Now, if Xie Wanru wanted to blow up the palace, I'd gladly hand her any explosives she may need for that, provided she evacuated the servants first.

I'm a big fan of your vmin analysis and I want to ask you about something that make me very sad...I recently saw some jinmin vedio and in that vedio jimin and Jin were very close to eachother that look like they were more than friends. In jimin vlive he say that he is very possessive for his friend and he want to keep that song to himself and he is referring to jin. Is jimin really like Jin more than v romantically??

If you are looking at who looks more romantically involved with Jin, try looking up he and Jungkook's shipping. You might even believe that they are dating each other. Every shipper highlights so many things in their videos and make you believe what they want you to believe. We all see things differently. Try to focus on not just one ship but on several and you will see how everyone one of them seems to highlight that their ship is real. A single hand movement, sitting beside each other, hugging becomes a huge deal. I haven't outrightly claimed that Vmin are dating but only that there's a possibility they aren't as platonic as we think.

Also, that Vlive where Jimin said he was possessive of his friends, he could have been referring to anyone but what made me conclude that he was talking about Taehyung was because at that time, Winter Bear was released and Jimin was hyping the song during both his vlives. Most of what he said described Taehyung especially the part where he said he didn't want anyone else to hear about the song (winter bear) released by his friend but he could share it with army. That's an obvious sign of possessiveness even though he could have been joking. Even though he didn't mention a name, it was obvious he was taking about Taehyung. Part of the focus of his vlive was on Taehyung's winter bear so who else would he have been referring to?

Anyway, that's all I can say about that and concerning a romantic relationship between any of the members, no one can know about that unless they announce it. We can analyse and speculate as much as we want but we would be going nowhere. Thanks for this ask.

I love your posts and analysis. I' a Taejinnie. Recently, I saw this post about MAMA: (please delete the space and brackets) celestehollister(.)com/jinmin-mama-2016-interaction/. Taehyung in the post makes me wonder. Why he said "Yah" to Seok - Jin? It makes me feel like he doesn't like Seokjin although they seem to be get along well with each other in MAMA 2016 (which we all know what happened). Please explain it to me. Thank you a lot. That post has some very good points. I can’t say I know why but what I understand is, it’s not that he lost his cool because he doesn’t like Jin. Between Jimin, the dongsaeng who is sometimes a little too playful at the wrong timing and Jin, the hyung who’s more mature and has authority, he was probably expecting Jin to handle this whole scenario better. 

Like the author said, they’re all very tense with the performance coming up and Taehyung didn’t mean for the outburst to happen. Jin was trying his best to remedy the situation in a light hearted way might have seemed like he wasn’t taking it seriously to Taehyung at that moment. Which is a reminder that Jin is good at keeping his emotions in check and doesn’t show his temper easily often gets misunderstood. 

Thanks for showing me this, Taejin indeed didn’t have a smooth year in 2016. Also it really shows how much effort Jimin and Jin put in to resolve their differences back then and are the best of friends now.

Since I’m pretty much just gonna post BTS stuff, here are some things you should know about me as an ARMY:

I finally checked out BTS a little after their LY: Answer (IDOL) release, so I am fairly new to this fandom (caught up with most stuff among the fandom though)

I have a special place in my heart for each member

Suga is the member I knew first, and he’s pretty much my bias-wrecker as “best member” (most representative of everything there is to love about our Bangtan Boys); We are probably most compatible when it comes to values and mentality, so I’d also consider dating him as if that’s even a possibility lol. I’m especially soft for him

J-Hope stood out to me first, and he’s my favorite- as in he is the one I get most hyped about immediately; his style resonates with me most and his mere existence gives me life

Jimin is my bias- different than “favorite” as I am often paying more attention to him at first, more close to the original definition of being biased. While I can enjoy some of his misery (as jokes), the insecurities and hate he’s gotten over the years especially hurts to see, and I can’t help but feel extra protective/defensive. He is my biggest crush/obsession among BTS for multiple reasons, a beautiful soul inside and out (the term ‘beautiful’ doesn’t begin to describe him; we need to come up with a whole new word to capture the essence of this angel). He is the death of me 

Jungkook is the one I relate to most (at least in social interactions), so it feels easier for me to be more critical of him and internally root for his success. His misery is the one I enjoy most XD. He’s either the one I would get in a fight with or get along with most. We cool

V is the one I love like my own child (even though he’s older than me lol); supposedly my soul-mate according to fan quizzes, but I’m more interested in protecting him (ofc all members deserve love and protection, but I’d protect V like my baby). Even with jokes, his misery is the one I enjoy least. His happiness makes me extra warm

Jin is the one I stan (don’t really like using the word “stan” since the actual meaning is pretty toxic, but I got nothing better so here we are), meaning I would actively defend him most- especially since he seems to have less support from BigHit, ARMYs, and (outside) haters altogether. We are probably also most similar in how we manage ourselves and interact with the world (INTP yo). He is best ‘idol’ as he not only garners loving fans but is also an incredible inspiration; he is the one I look up to the most and reference most. He is my superstar

RM is- my future husband *cough cough*- the one I would want to hang out with and/or date the most (but hey if any of the members wanted to date I’m down); he seems to be the most compatible with me and is extremely admirable, couldn’t ask for a better representative of BTS. Sucks that the fandom seems to give him less attention; he expresses so much love for ARMY but the call-back ain’t as loud (shout-out to aRMy) Best leader, by far. Dunno if I’m really a “hard stan” for anybody, but I guess if it had to be somebody, it’s RM. With him, I am content

you’ve expressed yourself excellently? and this is such an interesting question; i’m a run-era child so i also have quite some looking back to do and i feel like i could probably spend a few months to answer this omg;;;; but i really want to attempt this so i went on a bts research adventure and idk how useful any of it will be, but i’m just gonna –

warning, big mess ahead 

NOTE: i think i just experienced a moment of clarity when i went back and combed through this entire set of Hanryu Pia magazine interviews (among my faves, no question). it spans 2014-15, with a bunch of 1-on-1 member segments and it really refreshed their dynamics for me (makes me want to go back and edit some of my other rambles now AH). tl;dr i’ll be referencing it a lot and it’s a good read!

back on track with a bit of background – if i could start with a very generalized way to look at their earlier dynamics (before going into how their relationships shifted), i want to address that although the members formed friendships based on interests/personality/etc., i feel like their bonds were also initially pretty affected by where they fell into certain ‘categories’/spectrums, like these:

earliest to join bts –> latest to join

hyung-line vs. maknae-line (which is very close to #1)

vocal-line vs. rap-line vs. dance-line

music-line vs. performance-line (very close to #2 and #1)

etc. etc.

…. you’re probably like, this is common sense LOL but i guess i didn’t really think about how much they had to live in these labels, how jin + jungkook, for example, were vocal-line and had a similar training schedule, and as a result got closer by hanging out after classes together. but in a broader sense the labels became identities, and also affected the way they viewed each other; like for hyung-ln as long-time trainees, they likely felt more distant from maknae-ln, who we know hadn’t experienced the same hardships and didn’t handle as much of the responsibility. jin was out there making sure everyone was alive, namjoon and yoongi were in charge of discipline and musical drive, yoonseok were taking turns accompanying each other to the hospital… i think they really felt that gap in experience up through debut, because in 2013 interviews sugamon especially were always talking about how angry/tired they were during trainee limbo. honestly i’m not sure how much of that was to market a “hard”/“hiphop” image, but they also weren’t lying about those difficulties? and there seems to be a communication gap between hyung-ln and maknae-ln as well (all ‘jin being childish’ aside). for ex., in one of the Hanryu Pia 2015 interviews, hoseok and namjoon were paired up to talk and joon admitted the maknae-ln couldn’t sense his bad moods the way the hyung-ln could. extra interesting because age seems to trump training time here –– even though jungkook and jin joined around the same time, jk was not on the same wavelength.

i guess my conclusion from this is a lot of member relationships that may have shifted started from there, and that maybe in a generalized way, some members who got closer were able to like, overcome whatever initial differences they had, including age gap, talent specialties, relationship history?

if we go into specific relationships – i apologize if any of these were already on your mind btw – i think maybe namjin had somewhat of a rocky(?) start, since they referred to each other as complete opposites and didn’t understand how the other person worked, but they clearly got closer after talking with one another and were mature enough to overcome their differences. and now they’re married! :) i also think jinmin have gotten much closer – partially based off of how jin apparently used to nitpick at them a lot like a mom lmao and jimin wasn’t a fan of it, but now jimin’s become jin’s portable laughing track and jin adores him for it and throws cheesy pick-up lines at him probably every day, so there’s that too! i’m mentioning jin a lot, but since jin didn’t start dorming with everyone until later i think it’s understandable that he took some time to get closer with the younger members.

(EDIT: i wanna mention minjoon too, who have always been kinda close bc they relate to each other about self-esteem/motivation issues, but i think they’ve probably gotten closer? they seem to talk to each other about their troubles often and that kind of intimacy builds over time)

i think some of our conceptions of who was close with who also comes from how much we knew about them debut era vs. now –– like imo jikook were always pretty close (though i agree, definitely closer now), but we just didn’t see it as much early on and it’s taken some time for their dynamics to shine through. same thing for sope, and vmon and taejin too, and hey, taejin got an onscreen indirect kiss and sope’s bringing hwaggae tango to dancing with the stars, so i’m patiently waiting for bighit to up the game @ bts_twt call me for details

So first of all: i am a Jikook trash and i love spending time on youtube watching Jikook edits. One time when i was scrolling through the comment section i came across with a comment that just shocked me. That person talked about a moment from 2015 i guess, it was in a bangtan bomb that was deleted right after, so just a few people saw it. My question is going to be if you ever heard about it. Hi~ thanks for taking your time to share this information with me 😊 . Unfortunately I don’t know about that because honestly, I found out about BTS rather late. Maybe during the period of Hwarang and I just heard one of the actors was a member of a group and watched it for Park Seo Joon lmao but the storyline hooked me. Also, the OST “Even if I die it’s you” was very catchy when I heard it so it made a mark on me so I searched it up. But before that, at that time, when I didn’t had time to find out who BTS were and had the push to know about them after watching Strong Girl Bong Soon when one of the actors I think Ji Soo– talked about how BTS were so good at what they were doing and said their concert  was superb so I decided to check them out. 

Additionally, I know you’re not asking but my main bias ship was JinMin xD. My 1st bias was Jin. So I was not kookmin biased at first. I tried to believe in JinMin. However, it just didn’t add up T.T and was inconsistent. I still live for their cute moments tho. Then, I came across Jikook/Kookmin and I was like floored. Like seriously, their dynamic was different. Granted, it took some time to watch a ton of analysis videos before I could be certain because I was totally in doubt that it could be happening or that they were so obvious or it could just be fan service. You know, many factors. 

Sorry for going off in a tangent. In my opinion, Namjoon and all of the members possibly 99.99999%~ know about Jikook, you gotta leave room for error xp. If you ask me, it can’t be ascertained who Jungkook opened up to at first. It can be Rm, he did look up to him, or it could also be the other members. However, I think that the hyungs are very perceptive about Jikook. They can sense it and it’s funny how they react to Jikook which sometimes makes it really obvious that there’s something special about Jikook.

I think not. Not to put shade but compare to when Hobi initiates a playful kiss for Jm, Jm is not pleased and brushes him off (still friendly) vs. to how Jimin initiates going in for a kiss for Jk. You know what happened with me.. I was craving for JINMIN moments so thought of searching for JINMIN moments in yt but ended up watching a analysis video.

You won't believe which moment they had analysed. That was the epic moment of Jimin jumping into Jungkook's arms. I was like wait what has this got to do with jin.

Then that person started explaining that Jimin got jealous seeing Jin shaking hands with Lee Hyun. Thus, he wanted to make jin jealous. So he purposefully jumped into Jungkook's arm to make Jin jealous. They even claimed that Jimin looked at jin before jumping and jin was looking at Jimin through mirror.

I was shocked at first then I couldn't control my laugh😂😂😂😂😂😂. I was like seriously.... Isn't that little too much to think??? The channel owner thinks there are two couples in BTS. JinMin and TaeKook (but only does videos for JinMin).

I just can't with some people😂😂😂 They're either idiots or innocent people or just doing meaningless analysis videos to get views and subscribers.

honestly, i didn’t really pay attention to anything in particular in this episode. however after watching the episode for the millionth time, i noticed something. ((( ahhh this is my first analysis so don’t bash me too hard )))

this is after jin correctly guessed “save me” from the small sound given. obviously in joy, jimin hugs him. at first i just thought it was a v cute jinmin moment (which it was), but i noticed something else.

i spot jeonlous in the back doing the very memorable mouth thing. after seeing jinmin hug, he whips his head away only to do the mouth thing.

here’s just an upclose shot of jungkook. 🤗

i don’t know if anyone else noticed this, but i thought this was a cute moment. maybe i’m over analyzing but 🤷🏻‍♀️
