ive seen people saying it was dale or nancy running for mayor, but what if its joseph? I think joseph running would be the thing to actually get dale into politics.

Republicans and people who don鈥檛 understand my boy Dale Gribble need to leave his name out your mf mouth. My lad would take down the government with the best of the anarchists in a minute and he knows all the legal tricks and loopholes to get out of jail free if shit hits the fan.
He鈥檚 also a really loyal and loving dad and the primary parent of Joseph (his wife鈥檚 child from an affair, which he neither knows nor particularly cares about even though his wife is really hurting a sweet, caring man). He plays an active role in taking care of Joseph and making sure he has a good childhood.
If you call my boy a republican one more fucking time just because he believes in aliens and doesn鈥檛 trust the government??? Well shit, call me a republican too then; you鈥檙e dead fuckin wrong for it.

Wait a minute, Bobby's middle name is Jeffrey...is he named after Boomhauer?? Boomhauer's first name is Jeffrey and Hank says that Boomhauer has known Peggy longer than Hank has, so it would make sense if both of them have a strong relationship with him they'd want to give his name to Bobby

It would be funny that if in the continuation Joseph really is Dale鈥檚 son and Nancy wasn鈥檛 lying about Dale having a black grandma or whatever the lie was. Because either they just let that kid eat paint chips or he鈥檚 actually Dale鈥檚 son.

alright... here it is. does dale know or not about the affair? what do you think? I've seen more interesting theories that he deep down knows but is so far in denial he makes himself believe it isn't happening. I don't buy the "dale knows and is getting back at jr by raising joseph." like either he's incredibly stupid or in deep denial.

Season 6 Episode 14 "Of Mice and Little Green Men"
Ooo okay this is interesting. I'm not going to bring up a lot of evidence from the episodes and instead am just going to say what I think. Dale's view of reality is practically entirely made up of conspiracies and theories. He doesn't take things at face value and readily believes the most illogical things. Because of this, I truly do believe it was more logical for Dale to look at his son and explain away the differences between them and the timing of his conception as being aliens than the possibility that Nancy had an affair. He loves and trusts Nancy, and we see that throughout the series, so I really do not think the possibility of infidelity even entered Dale's mind. He views Nancy as a safe person, someone he can be himself around and trust even though he doesn't trust people easily. I also don't think that he is in denial, I think he genuinely and honestly thinks Joseph is his son through some grander alien conspiracy. I mean obvious "Conspiracy guy cannot see conspiracy in front of him" joke aside, practically all of season 6 episode 14 "Of Mice and Little Green Men" is about Dale truly believing Joseph is an alien before creating another conspiracy to conclude that they are actually biologically father and son. John Redcorn doesn't even factor into the episode, so how would Dale be getting back at him here? That theory honestly doesn't make sense when we consider this episode. So to keep a long story short, I think that Dale honestly and truly believes that Joseph is his son through an alien conspiracy. That is the reality of Dale Gribble. Thank you for the ask! I was thinking about having this be the next theory I covered but idk whether or not to keep doing those and this was a way more fun way to talk about it, so thank you again!

Kota Game head cannon because I'm binging the show and playing Hoi4
Dale- War games obviously. Hearts of iron mostly. I imagine he also likes games like War thunder and those really in depth games. Thinking specifically I would say he would really like Far Cry 5 and Battlefield 1. He's already mentally unstable enough to stand Hoi. But he would definitely not play properly and just use console commands himself powerful and take over the world or something. "What do you mean I can't get the achievement?! It took muscle and sweat to cheat in this game!"
Hank- He would get what he likes from Dale. Historical and RTS type games, old man war games. Tank simulator, submarine simulator etc. until he finds out about Simulator games. House flipper, power wash simulator, Gardener simulator etc. he would love them all and play at any point he could. He would also see any minute detail and critique it if it was to be wrong, and get mad when the game isn't as in depth as we would like it. "Gosh darn it. This game doesn't tell the difference between St. Augustine and Bermuda."
Bill- No doubt he would like visual novels and dating sims. Absolutely no doubt. I don't have any other suggestions honestly. He would love to make characters especially. Honestly if a game has a romance mechanic he'd love it. "So you're saying she's... romanceable? I-is he.. romanceable?"
Boomhauer- I honestly don't see him as a big gamer. That or he's an intense, hardcore and very good online gamer. Fortnite, Battlefield, Pubg, TF2. "Talkin bout, dang ole kids on game, man, can't even play, without some dang ole kid yapping at me tell ya what"
Extra: Peggy- middle aged women mobile games, Bobby- 2000s flash games, Cotton- Battlefield and gun games, Joseph- Ero and or Adult games, Connie- Educational games.

King of the Hill. Class and community
"The courtship of Joseph's father" is one of my favorite episodes of the later seasons. Of course it's funny in a 'Dale takes it too far again' kinda way, but I think it says something interesting about the characters and setting as well.聽
Joseph gets his talent as a quarterback recognized. Spencer Academy, a prestigious school, offers him a spot, in the hopes that he'll be a part of their team for football season. The kid doesn't want to leave Tom Landry, but Dale chooses for him,聽 sends him there, and later goes to great lengths himself to fit in with the rich families.
Tumblr media
On the surface, it seems that Dale is interested mostly in the aesthetic the academy allows him to indulge in. And sure enough, he enjoys wearing elegant outfits and taking his Nancy out to enjoy a fancy dinner.聽
But at a gala, he gets a harsh reminder that his wife and him don't belong with the upper class. Joseph himself has been struggling to connect with his peers: despite sharing a language and nationality, the class gap creates what is effectively a cultural difference. Dale speaks with Hank, and after his friend tells him he should do what's best for Joseph, he draws the natural Dale-conclusion and leaves his son at a rich family's door in the hopes that they'll adopt him.聽
Tumblr media
What strikes me about this episode is that it functions around class struggle. For starters, Dale knows what it's like to be an outcast. As a child, he spent his days talking to baskets and eating bugs. As an adult, he's too scattered to hold down a job and his family struggles financially as a result. He's also a gun fanatic with bad aim and an expert in conspiracies no one else takes seriously.聽
But, if he had means and power, all of his weirdness would be forgiven as harmless eccentricity. His Nancy would stop struggling with the bills, and Joseph would escape the class his parents were born in and secure a stable future for himself. Dale senses that climbing up the social ladder is the key to success and happiness, but is naive enough to believe a mimicry of the elite's behaviors and mannerisms is enough to gain a place among them.聽
Of course, his plan doesn't work out, and Joseph comes back home. Dale is initially horrified ("I just saw Joseph at the Hills'" Nancy tells him. "What?! He can't stay with them! They're worse than us!") but eventually realizes he loves his son too much to send him away. He decides to bring him back to Tom Landry, and, as he now owes Spencer Academy money, his neighbors help him organize a gala of his own to raise funds and pay them back.
Tumblr media
In the end, we're left with a sense of injustice. The Gribbles deserve nice galas, fancy dinners and trips to Brazil, but their class prohibits them from accessing these experiences. Power and money are distributed unevenly and unfairly, and class mobility is unattainable.聽
But there's also a sense of hope. I believe one of the key themes of King of the Hill is community. Dale, Joseph and Nancy are back where they started: no money and no fame. But their friends (this flawed and weird set of people) have banded together to get them out of trouble. Perhaps they'll never reach the top of the ladder, but they have each other. And that too might be a good place to be.

So I know Bobby was the one who stole Hank鈥檚 credit card and spent it all on his friends but I鈥檇 deadass be asking Dale and Kahn to pay back whatever Bobby spent on his friends because all three of them went out and ran up that man鈥檚 credit
