Deco Objects jump on Door Slots

Decorative objects that normally do not jump on slots (like wall deco) are able to jump on door slots by using this hack.

This works for the OfB Business Signs, too; they remain fully functionable.

Attention - this hack conflicts with all other hacks modifying the Init-BHAV for decorative objects!

What building mods do you use on your lots? HA Maxis Slot or Lamare shift able everything? A lot of objects fitting in one area?

Hello Nonnie, i use both... and some more.

For Slots on EAxis Furniture I use Hafiseazale's Slots, and Gwenke's Slots for all Maxis end tables

As you mentioned i use Lamere's Shiftable everything because it makes decorating tables and whole lot easier.

But aside from these, i also use SilentLucidity's Full Range Shiftable OMSPs, A Whole New Dimention And Smaller Food Prep for gameplay lots with cluttered kitchens.

Then, i also use this OMSP Controller by julsfels so i don't have to manually make everything visible or invisible, this is also useful for when you LOSE a OMSP during a photoshoot.

And beside this, i always use Boolprop snapobjectstogrid false/true and Boolprop allow45degreeangleofrotation false/true when decorating.

I’m a big fan of favorite lists, so I thought I’d do my own. I’m starting small, with table lamps, and I tried to include different ones than some of the other lists I keep going back to, like Simper-Fi’s or Deedees. So, here we go:

Flamingo’s Favorites I: Table Lamps

1. pforest, Cool Desk Lamp Listen @pforestsims, I could have listed 15 of your lamps here. They are all gorgeous, they are all in my essentials folder, it was hard to choose, but I cannot have more than two items by the same person on this list, that would be ridiculous.

2. Veranka Boston Bedroom Table Lamp Love the fabric, need to find (make?) some more recolors...

3. pforest, Glass&Brass Banker Lamp The pineapple, again. Such a classic, I put it in all my libraries and bookshops and on many writer’s desks.

4. Moxxa, Awesims MidCentury Ball Lamp Look at those little feet!

5. Shastakiss, Awesims Bubble Table Lamp The colors of this one are so pretty.

6. Thimblesims conversion of Peacemaker’s Mid Century Abode Table Lamp This one became a fast favorite.

7. Ladysimplayer8 Bubble Trouble 4t2 Such a perfect little retro lamp!

8. Veranka Axel Livingroom Table Lamp Whoops, Veranka again. This is my go-to tiny modern lamp.

9. Dot, Pinkie Lamp T$R, sorry. Dot has made many more great table lamps!

10. Shastakiss Ammonite Shell Lamp Kind of weird, kind of a classic, typical @shastakiss.

11. Veranka Geometric Table Lamp I usually only keep a few recolors, but for this little lamp I kept them all.

12. @crispsandkerosene, Tropical Water Lilly Light Much more versatile than you’d think! There is also a version for water surfaces by julsfels.

13. pforest, Saturn Lamp Yeah I lied, it’s three lamps by @pforestsims.

14. Mango Lampe de Chevet Diva CC from what feels like long ago, I still use a lot of lamps from that site!

Marina’s Classic Windows in Maxis Brownstone

Boring preview, but it gets the point across. All 12 window variations by Marina, plus the slaved door pediments and @julsfels 2-tiled versions, designed to coordinate with the base game brownstone wall coverings. These are all one file! Normally, I wouldn’t bundle object recolors, but with a build set like this I figure it’s an all-or-nothing kind of thing, plus it made it easier with multiple weird combos of shared textures. Interior framing trim is white like Marina’s originals.

Meshes aren’t included, mostly because mine are edited weirdly for my own purposes, but also because @shastakiss​ slaved the panes and recolored them here and here, and if you love these windows like I do they’re a must-have. (The preview is in Cluedo dark wood.)

This sucks so hard. Dean Koontz's solution was to shove his dad into a care facility, pay the bills, and refuse to see him or to discuss his problems with staff. But I suspect you don't have as much money as Koontz. At least if you have to kick him out onto the streets, he won't freeze in Florida. And you can't be expected to accept responsibility for someone who never took responsibility for you.

Dean Koontz was obviously also able to afford a lawyer to get his father declared incompetent. That’s what we’re looking into now.

My father’s got excellent insurance that would pay for extensive rehab or a nursing home, but of course he claims he’s given up drinking! He will say to my face, while he’s so drunk he can’t stand without leaning on a wall, and just after my husband took a garbage bag of empty vodka bottles out of his room, that he quit last year. He’s lying to all of his friends too, of course. He’ll go a few hours without drinking once every other week or so, during which he’ll talk to all of them on the phone and tell them how well he’s doing. And they can’t tell he’s drunk from short little Facebook posts about dogs or 1960s TV shows. He actually got his brother believing him -- which makes me feel a bit less bad for also believing him before he moved here.

Kicking him out on the street entirely isn’t happening. There are things I can do and things I can’t do, and that’s a thing I can’t do. I can’t forget him doing things like making up a song for me to remember all the Canadian provincial capitals in 4th grade, or rescuing a kitten who ended up rescuing me, or switching from Republican to Democrat after a conversation I had with him when I was 12. Florida’s not cold, but his health issues are severe and he would die horribly immediately. (As opposed to dying horribly slowly, which is what he’s doing now.) I’m afraid that he’s going to hurt someone else in one of his two to three daily drives to get vodka, and that’s my main impetus for trying to figure out how to get him declared incompetent now.

Thanks guys! Yes, I wasn’t aware until I saw them all starting to appear on Sunday how much I had wanted to see my Gentry and Nobility actually mingling. It was very satisfying.

It is, isn’t it? When I rolled the dice for this family, it was for 3 females only so I had to come up with some reason why there were no male heads of the family in my patriarchal knightly household...but it wasn’t until I gave those “missing”characters faces and names and personalities that I felt sad about never meeting them.

Yeah pretty much, lol. He had days where he could chat with Gertrude and have a bit more leisure time, but he was mostly on his feet from dawn till dusk looking after the house and its inhabitants. And this was a small manor house. Woe be unto the servant who has to look after a castle >.<.

That's what I do, too, but I've heard other people saying they use Sim Surgery to make their nannies/repairpeople/maids look like their playables who have those "jobs." I've always thought that was a great idea, but I've never actually done it...

Yeah, I heard about that method too but tbh, the less time I have to spend fussing in SimPE the better for me. Plus, I actually enjoy having the actual Sim come out to these households and meet people he ordinarily might not get to see. I can live with that :)

Thank you all for your suggestions! In the end I decided to go with a “square pond” (which I’ll probably post pics of in the near future) but definitely keeping all these cool overlays in my back pocket. Swimming in blood would be cool as hell!

Rabbit pen - a default replacement (yet another collab with @episims​ ❤)

Put your hand up if you ever used this toy dog pen! 🙋‍♀️ No one? Yeah, thought so XD

Originally I wanted to make this a custom pen, but then we decided that the toy dog pen wouldn’t be missed, so we made a default! And also, because the animations needed to be edited, and it was easier this way! (we’re not going to create a custom verison)

The bunny comes from sims 4 (many thanks to @tvickiesims​ for extracting it!), but it got adjusted to the pen. It has all the original 8 color variations (4 as defaults, and 4 recolors)! The animations are not accurate (that’s not how bunnies move!), and there’s also some clipping as well, but that was the best we could do. The weirdest animations got removed though, so the bunnies don’t bark at least. The sounds also got removed, bunbun is a silent creature!

The bunny has its own pet treat, and its own food box texture. The pen also got a little facelift, featuring some hay, a chewing stick, and a wooden bunny house! (that they never use, but whatever, it’s part of the ~aesthetic~) Despite this, all the existing recolors should work fine with this default!

The toy dog-related wants (and fears) also got adjusted, so now sims roll wants and fears about the bunnies instead of the dogs! Important! The Wants file in the download shouldn’t be renamed, because it’ll stop working!

The description and interaction texts were changed and got translated to Finnish and Hungarian as well. If you wish to provide a translation to other languages, please contact Epi!

Filling the gaps - part 25 - afbodydressthai

To get everybody to the level of confusion, I’m at, we abandon tops for a moment and go back to full body outfits. Before I moved, julfels gave me permission to upload a default I made using her saris: afbodydressthai.

I have to say, that I’m very uneducated, when it comes to history in the middle ages outside europe/middle east. So, I have no clue, what people in the middle ages wore in thailand. Hence why I wouldn’t label this default as medieval. Sorry. I just like the outfits.

I sorted the replacement into the everyday, formal and maternity category. They won’t spawn on townies. They’ll use the sandal sound.

The custom versions can be found at feenwald.

Installation is pretty easy this time. Get the mesh; Plob the default and the mesh into your downloads directory.

All files have been compressed. Preview pictures are included in the archive.

The mesh is not included. Yes, I’m forcing you to go to julfels page and marvel at her great CC. Get the mesh here.

Sims 2 Tutorial - How to build an upside down house. Part 1

I think/hope I have explained this in depth enough. Please ask if theres something you get stuck on.

This tutorial is assuming you have AL and/Mansion and Garden stuff, as it requires the roof pieces and the wall shiftability that came with either/or of those two eps.

Before we begin there are a few things you will need to get for this to work.

You will also need the script for the stairs, this is an absolute must or else the will not function! For some reason the script isn't included in the download so I have made it available here

The Rules of the Game

Here are the rules I will be using for my modified version of the MCC!

The Goal:

From MCC: For one of the two hubs to become a city, rising through the ranks with a flourishing population and economy. New buildings are unlocked with each stage, and new families added.

The zombie twist: To rise through the ranks, there is a condition of population numbers (gotta keep those peasants from becoming zombie snacks) and zombie kills. Gaining ranks allows a hub to extend its ‘safe zone’

Starting Point:

Two feuding Gentry families, each with their followers: 1 Yeoman family and 2 Peasant families. I’m going to globally apply the same rules as the MCC when it comes to dice-rolls to determine family size and ages (but without rolling for toddlers, my starting sims will have enough on their plate without potty-training!)

Each family starts off with their own lot, within their hub’s ‘safe zone’. A safe zone is comprised of terrains with an activated visitor controller to disperse any roaming zombies. 

While some of the community lots will have to be built from scratch once the treasury allows it, some community lots will be preexisting lots which can be ‘claimed back’ by the Gentry family by killing three zombies on this lot. These lots can be visited by anyone who finds a secret map... But beware of zombies if the lot hasn’t been claimed back!

The Zombies:

I will be trying out a few zombie mods, such as Meduza’s Deadly Zombies , and also hesitating with Pescado’s Zombie Apocalypse and Sunrader Sims Zombie Apocalypse. The gist of it: zombies can now kill or infect other sims, and will infect others autonomously. In other words... dangerous times for those poor sims!

To try out the mods and also get townies out of their good-god-why-modern clothes, I’ll try and dress up the townies in appropriate medieval garb and infect the maximum before setting up the neighbourhood.

Killing zombies is considered a civic duty, and is rewarded with a 5000 reward from the Crown.

The Taxes:

I’m not one for complicated calculations so the dues paid by the families will be as follows:

Gentry to Crown: 500/season (hey, no one wants the land anyway, so rent is cheap)

Yeoman to Gentry: 100/day, in addition to roughly half of earnings

Peasant to Gentry: 50/day, in addition to more than half of earnings

Merchant to Gentry: 1000/day Everyone to the Church: 50/day

I’m expecting some rough days in the beginning, so the families will start with a little bit of ‘buffer cash’. Let’s call it an allowance by the Crowd for agreeing to settle in a zombie-infested land.
