12 year old me is screaming, as in my younger self who would beg for my mom to buy me pokemon cards from target and would ask for the Lucario trainer box every Christmas for like 3 years is screaming. Hermitcraft tcg needs to be real. I need physical cards, I need the thrill of opening a foil, I need full arts and holos and reverse holos and rainbow rares and radiant variants of the hermits, I need plastic coins that have pictures of different hermits on them. I need BINDERS full of cards, I need hermitcraft tcg to be the new pokemon y'all.

The next set of can badges has been announced, releasing May25 from the Japanese Pokemon Center! Aside from the cards that just came out, is this our first bit of Kieran merch? I was hoping for a plushie some day 😅

A special shogi Pikachu plushie has been announced as part of a fundraising collaboration between Pokémon and the New Shogi Hall Construction Project, Pikachu's kimono is designed based on the one worn by Sōta Fujii in the 4th game of the 71st championship match, in which he won all titles.

hi. im mothman, jay, volcarona, The Autistic Pokemon Guy, whatever you want to call me. pokemon fan for most of my life and a big fan of digging through niche parts of the internet, i naturally ended up fascinated with pokemon merchandise.

this blog is here to document all things pokemon in general, but, as the name implies, largely revolves around physical pokemon merchandise as well as game, manga, movie, etc. releases.

i run on a queue. i post at 8AM, 4PM, and 8PM [usually reblogging other posts] EST each day unless the queue runs out.

things are meant to be in vaguely chronological order, but i dont care about keeping it consistent. all things happen when they are meant to

some things are hard to research and i might get stuff wrong. please correct me so i can make updates.

middle kid was asking when I'm gonna start a new painting, said I need a little break between paintings to reset and figure out what I want to do next and that takes a little time. ask him if he has any ideas what I should paint next, he doesn't say anything. several minutes later he comes back and asks if I could do a Pokemon, I said sure. then he's like, could you do... a Pokemon card? so I asked him so it would be like a jumbo card? ... yeah. I said sure. now he's very excited and ran off to get his most special card

Vitality Spring Water

The first four or five versions of Water I tried were all in the Rain Dance archetype. The name Rain Dance is from the Base Set Blastoise's Pokemon Power that allows you to attach unlimited Energy from your hand and today that name is applied to a lot of similar abilities across all types. I never found a Rain Dance build that felt like it solved all my issues with the archetype and ended up trying out the Vitality Spring list after reading an article about it. This deck is built around Blastoise with the Vitality Spring ability that allows you search your deck for up to six Energy cards to attach to your Pokemon and then ends your turn. It can seem like a steep cost, but you aren't limited to finding Basic Energy like a lot of other Energy acceleration abilities. Finding powerful Special Energy cards, like Splash Energy that returns your Pokemon to your hand when it is knocked out and Wash Energy that stops the effects of attacks, is quite strong. The main attacker you want to power up each game is Wailord. It has a massive 200HP, the Jumbo-Sized ability that makes it take 30 less damage from attacks, and an attack that deals 240 damage. Wailord is both hard to knock out and is knocking out most Pokemon in the format. Blastoise is commonly set up as an attacker too. At 170HP it's not easy to knock out and it has maybe the strongest Hydro Pump attack at a base of 90 damage plus 30 damage per Water Energy attached. Despite being a bit skeptical about the deck initially, it quickly became my favorite way to play Water. Being able to pop off and quickly set up some absolute monsters makes it pretty exciting to play.

Here's a fun fact: Shadow Lugia actually had a jumbo-sized promo card that was released at the Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness launch event (October 2, 2005) at Nintendo World in New York.

Also I saw pokemon released gen 1 again for pokemon cards. (I think if i'm understanding right) apart of me want to collect! But I've also taken a pretty big break from collecting pokemon cards for the most part. I've been able to save money that way. ^^;' I know I found a jumbo pika in the parking lot a few weeks ago. He was in packaging and I think someone just wanted the booster packs and left him. So I got him and brought him home. (I was excited finding something in the parking lot. XD more excited I could bring home something that probably was going to become trash real quick!) But outside of that, I haven't really been actively collecting. I've taken a huge break. (I do want pokemon advent calendar tho. >w<;' yes i'm a giant goofball. ) but maybe I'll collect a couple.

I kinda don't understand the jumbo cards in pokemon tcg. What is the point. Most of the time they don't even do alt arts (I don't even recall them making a jumbo for full illuminations) so they would just make awkward framed art

At least with coins they are used in the game (though I'm pretty sure most people who take the game seriously use die) and pins and stickers are just cool. Really hope they do full illuminations jumbos in the future
