Final piece from the @batfam-big-bang ! This one accompanies "Inside and Out", a fic written by @princessjaqulinechess1031 which you can read here!
This one was honestly a nice change of pace from the tarot cards, hahah. It was nice to go for somrthing closer to my usual style whilst still testing out something a bit different and more painterly which I dont normally do haha
Dick Grayson stands in profile facing left, with one arm around a de-aged Damian Wayne-Al Ghul and the other cradling his head as he presses a kiss to the top of his head. Dick has messy hair and prominent eyebags, and is wearing a batman-themed baby carrier that the sleeping Damian is strapped into. The background is a simple cream colour and the image is painted in desaturated colours with an overlay the same shade as the background. The artist's signature reads "GBIRRD" in the bottom right corner.

#bandit's doodles#grian#mumbo jumbo#waffle duo#new au#ratatouille waffle duo au#remy Grian and red haired guy Mumbo#thoughts?#the website itself was fine#it had that color selection square which was great#cool brushes#the selection tool was a little odd but it worked so that’s something#there was no eraser again#not that I could find anyway#and trust me I looked long and hard#I just used white over things#but jeepers#the crashing#every time I tried to change the brush size or the opacity#or used the selection tool to rotate or move anything#it crashed#and when it crashed it like froze#and the only way I got out of it was by reloading the website#or closing the tab completely#which clears the canvas#so the first doodle was actually it’s 5th iteration#3/10 including the lag#there’s a chance it was me though#so excluding the lag 6/10#I’m feeling generous I think

Caught myself thinking about Ayame's death and made this

apparently surpassing and bottling up all your emotion isn’t actually good for you??
#i’ve been dealing w a bunch of stuff and just today my stepdad sprung on me that i needed to clear out half of my room bc they’re redoing#the wall? so me and my mom had to move everything (and it was a lot of shit)#all over the place and the one thing that’s so overwhelming to me is mess and clutter so my room is just that#and they made me do it right when i got home from work so i barely got to relax#bc the people were coming tomorrow morning#and i’m busy friday saturday and sunday so my rooms just gonna be a mess and for god knows how long#but at least they were coming tomorrow while i was at work so i didn’t have to deal with that BUT NOW#they just called and said they weren’t gonna be able to come until friday…. so i literally have nowhere to go#so i just locked myself in my room and sobbed and then my mom found me and was very sweet but still#oh also i’ve been planning to surprise my mom with a painting of our late cat for mother’s day but while we were cleaning out the room#she found the canvas with the sketch on it so it’s basically not a surprise anymore#anywayyyyyy#personal

job searching in the "marketing and communications" category is like you must know how to produce social media videos, podcasts, text for articles/newsletters/social media posts/PR statements/onboarding guides and I'm like I can do that but then they ALWAYS casually tack on "graphic designer" like do you not know that is an entirely different skill set with whole separate educations dedicated to it?? graphic designer is a whole ass separate job?? fun fact you actually want two people
#specific complaining from me today#anyways I just think the recruiters just dont know how much skill and knowledge goes into graphic design#and that it basically is a whole different position#and that a general marketer or communicator cannot be expected to ALSO be a full on graphic designer#me gently in my cover letters saying I work well WITH graphic designers to create good communication#like Im gonna learn some canva now to make social media posts but lemme make it clear that does NOT make me an actual graphic design wizard#I respect graphic designers so much

After 9-ish hours of painting, playing with Krita features, and listening to long horror related video essays, I have completed what I consider, my best piece to date Honestly I am just so fucking proud of this, I just felt like drawing my favorite 80s horror icons with some headcanon designs and then suddenly I was practicing a bunch of stuff I needed to like Shading, color variation, and backgrounds

I've never had many kind things to say about my own work#but.... literally Nothing looks right anymore and I. don't know why#even when I Do manage to finish something it just never seems good enough#but every time I've been trying to open a canvas to draw something and then my motivation just.. Dissipates#like.. it's almost like I get scared?? idk how to explain#and it's not that I Don't Want to draw anymore. because I do#but it's like my body just.. Won't#and like.. whenever I post something nowadays people are excited to see me again but then I just disappear again#so I'm a massive disappointment as a social media presence#and like.. not to mention I literally only have like 100 something followers on my main even tho I've had it for like 5 years#and I give my insights on world issues all the time but.. at the end of the day no one cares and I'm talking into the wind#but like.. does it all even really matter at this point#nobody irl cares about my art anymore#mom made that perfectly clear#and at the rate I'm going nobody online will care about my art anymore either#and I'm afraid that by the time I recover from w/e this is#everyone will have left and forgotten about me and moved on to much better and more more successful artists#most of them probably have already#and if I don't draw.. What do I have to even offer#I'm not particularly funny or interesting and I'm not good at holding conversations and I'm mentally/emotionally unstable#My art was all I had going for me and now I don't even have that#people enjoying my art is literally the one and only bit of validation I ever get anymore#so No Art? No Praise! No Feeling Of Accomplishment! No Feeling Appreciated! No Feeling Wanted!
