Summary: After Raph watches your date with a classmate go south, he makes sure not to waste you getting all dolled up.

You weren’t capable of letting down your smile. There was just no way, you were too excited. After months of subliminal flirting, bashful compliments, and loaning pencils, the cute guy in your comp sci class had finally asked you out and you couldn’t be happier. 

Carefully, you drug the felt tip of your lipgloss wand across your bottom lip, pursing and puckering to spread the shimmer evenly. Glancing down at your phone, you read the time and beamed again. You’d have just enough time to put on some earrings and shoes before having to leave. After doing so, you did a once-over in the mirror, twirling and giggling at the way the hem of your dress flew outwards. Suddenly, as if to rain on your parade, your phone began to buzz, shimmying around in its spot on your bed.

You were expecting to see the name of the gentleman you were meeting tonight, probably calling to cancel your evening plans. The name of your ‘eldest brother’ scrolling sideways across the screen brought you little relief, though. If the boys found out about your date, no doubt they’d try to interfere.

“Hello?” you answered cautiously, pacing through your living room.

“Where are you right now?” Leo’s stern voice rang out through the speaker.

“Home, why?” you asked, secretly impatient as you checked the time. Now you were definitely going to be late. 

“Hang tight, I’m on my way.” The announcement was so sudden that you hardly had time to react but blurted out a flustered opposition.

“N-No, I have a date!” Silence befell his end and you began to wonder if the line had gone dead or he’d maybe lost signal somehow. 

“A date?!” Leo furiously sprang back to life. “With who?!”

“The guy I told you about the other day…?” you murmured, hoping he could recall the conversation well enough for you to avoid elaborating.

“You didn’t tell he’d asked you out!” He pressed further, irritated at your lack of communication. 

“I knew you’d freak out!” you reasoned, a distressed tremble in your voice. “And besides, I didn’t think it was your business!”

“Your safety is our business,” Leo argued, stony as ever. “(Y/N), you know the rules.” The ‘rule’ in question forbade you from doing most things that required you to leave your home unless for school, or to visit the lair; on the few occasions you were allowed to, you were to wear bland clothes. Nothing attention-grabbing like the low cute, crimson red spaghetti strapped cocktail dress you now wore. “There’s no way you can be discrete in that dress, what if someone sees you and follows you home or worse-”

“Please, Leo!” you suddenly interjected. “I rarely ever leave get to do anything and I really like this guy! Please just let me do this one thing!”

The eldest sibling paused for a moment as if taken back, before finally sighing and pinching the bridge of his nose. “Do you promise to be careful? Call us if anything- and I mean anything- goes wrong?”

“I swear, Leo!” You promised, holding your fists tightly to your chest, likely to keep your heart from beating out of it as you waited for his response. 

“Fine,” he reluctantly submitted, shaking his head on the other end. “Have fun and be careful, okay?”

“I will, thank you so much!” You squealed, excitedly stomping in place before abruptly hanging up, presumably to be on your way.

Rolling his eyes and pivoting to return to his training in the dojo, Leo froze when he noticed Raph standing in the doorway to said room, peridot eyes zeroed in on the exit. Before the older knew it, he was being passed by as the other turtle prepared to leave. “Don’t follow her,” Leo warned knowingly, crossing his arms as his younger brother bustled about the room to gather his things. “This is a terrible idea and you know it.”

“Leo’s right, Raph,” Don piped up, exiting the lab and trekking to the kitchen, empty mug in hand. “You know how she gets, there’s no way this is gonna end well for you.” The first pair both glanced up at the new player in the conversation before going back to it. “I’m just sayin’ I speak from personal experience,” the brainiest turtle continued, pouring his umpteenth cup of coffee for the day and stirring additives into it. “Give her some space, man.”

For just a moment, the hotheaded brother halted, taking his family’s advice into account, before ultimately deciding that, he wouldn’t heed it. “Yeah, whatever. You guys don’t know what you’re talkin’ about,” he grumbled, continuing his descent down the stairs toward the exit of the lair. 

Obviously, the others didn’t know you the way he did, he thought. They didn’t know how clumsy and gullible you could be, how badly you needed his guardianship. That's what he told himself anyway, it would be much too embarrassing for him to admit that the real reason he was following you out on this date was to pretend that the guy you were going out with was him.

You stifled a giggle, kicking your legs beneath the table and clenching the rusty satin of your dress in your fists, all in an attempt to calm yourself before your date arrived. Admittedly, you were a tiny bit disappointed to find that your date was nowhere to be seen, even though you were five minutes late yourself. Nonetheless, you got a table for the two of you, ordered a pair of waters and an appetizer, then waited. The tantalizing smell of garlic bread enticed you as it sat untouched in the middle of the table. You thought it was probably bad etiquette to start eating without your date.

Minutes ticked by as your throat became more and more parched- no doubt a product of your constant nervous swallowing. Surely, it wouldn’t be too rude to sip your drink while you wait. Before you realized it, your glass was nearly empty and a waitress was at your side offering a refill. She glanced down at you with a sympathetic smile that you didn’t quite understand at the time before turning and hurrying away. Another check of the time revealed your gentleman caller to now be nearly fifteen minutes that, though to you it felt more like thirty. Screw this, you were hungry.

One basket of bread and another refill later and you found yourself obsessively checking your phone for any word from him, only to find yourself sorely disappointed every time. You were very rapidly beginning to lose hope, when suddenly, your phone vibrated, dancing about on the table. You hastily checked it to find a text from the man of the hour:

“Sorry, can’t make it tonight. Sick.”

You hadn’t even noticed the tears well up in your eyes until you felt them roll off your chin. Even though he’d excused himself as ill, you still felt so…unwanted, so cast aside. Shuddering, you instantly flagged down the waitress, desperately trying to conceal your hurt. You just wanted to pay out and go home.

From a nearby rooftop, Raph watched the entire scene unfold with glossy eyes. It almost reminded him of the pilot to a show you’d made him sit through last summer, only this wasn’t a sitcom. This would likely have a lasting effect on your self-esteem. 

He was a little relieved when you finally stood up and stormed out of the restaurant, frantically wiping tears away with your wrist. You were a bullet train now, racing down the avenue needing to get home as fast as possible. Startled, Raph jumped to his feet, seeing his time to intercept you being diced into seconds. In the blink of an eye, he was on the wet pavement of a sketchy alleyway, stalking behind as your figure darted between cars and tall structures. 

Suddenly, he halted in his pursuit of you- what would you say if you found him following you? There was a good chance you wouldn’t just fall helplessly in his arms like he hoped you would. Was there a way he could surprise you and sweep you off your feet without letting you in on his possessive tendencies?

Wailing, you barged into the lobby of your apartment complex, face hidden in your shoulder as you blew past the doorman, cutting his greetings short. Too embarrassed to sit in anyone’s presence long enough for the elevator to arrive, you burst through the stairwell door, clumsily speeding up them, tripping all the while and crawling back up yourself. After falling up four flights, you finally reached your floor and bolted for the exit, fantasizing about the way your plush bedding would envelop you in security. Still sniveling, but with sanctuary within reach, you shoved your key into the lock and threw the front door open, only to fall forward into the apartment dramatically, catching yourself before gravity could take over.

Exhausted, you haphazardly tossed your belongings onto the floor, shedding layers and accessories as you traversed the space. Heels in the hall, purse on the couch, and earrings on the kitchen island, you finally reached the bedroom in only your red cocktail dress, dainty necklace, and smudged makeup. As your fingers gripped the door handle you stopped, smelling something smokey, possibly with a floral hint. Alert to a possible intruder, you raised your guard and prepared for the worst before gently pushing the door and letting it creak open on its own.

Beyond the door, Raph lounged on your bed, waiting for you to arrive home. Surrounding him were throw blankets and pillows, an open take-out box with a steaming pizza, piled with your favorite toppings, and a rose-scented candle burning on the nightstand. Illuminating it all was your television, set on the menu screen of your favorite childhood film, the remote control resting on his chest. “Welcome home,” he said cooly, voice full of gravel, but a languid smile speaking volumes. You couldn’t hold back the sobs that poured from your throat as you lurched forward, collapsing against him.

Raph went rigid beneath you, having been concealing his anxiety about your reaction for quite a while. As you heaved and wept against him, he eased back into you and slowly wrapped you in his arms, hushing your woes. “Dollface, what’s the matter?” he asked carefully as if he didn’t already know.

“Leo was right,” you shuddered. “I never should have gone out with that stupid prick!”

“A date, so that’s where ya been?” Raph asked lightheartedly, pushing you away by your shoulders so he could see your face. “No wonder you’re all prettied up.” Your heart skipped a beat at his words and blood rushed to your face. “Now tell me who that asshole is and what he did to you.” 

“H-He…” you sniffled, sitting up fully on your knees and in between his. God, you looked so vulnerable in that position, and the way the ruching of your dress pulled your waist in- That wasn’t the point. “He just never showed up…” you muttered weakly. “He didn’t tell me he was sick ‘til way after he was supposed to be there…” You couldn’t keep yourself from crumbling again, falling back into his arms. 

“Shhh…” he cooed, scaly hand caressing your shuddering back. “I got ya, babe, it’s okay.” What seemed to be hours passed with him simply holding you as you cried when you finally spoke again, albeit in a quiet and broken tone. 

“R-Raph, do you think I’m pretty…?” 

“My God, babe, is that even a question?” he suddenly snorted, prompting you to erect yourself to gain distance from him. He could plainly see the hurt in your eyes as you loomed over him, though his eyes were elsewhere- darting all over your body and eating you up. “Like seriously, how honest do you want me to be, 'cause we’ll be here all night.”

“I don’t want you to lie…” you answered, anxiety bubbling up in your blood. 

“I mean where do I start?” he laughed, hands ghosting over your hips, but never actually making contact. “You got these perfect hips and that pretty face, tight ass,” he smirked as you flustered more and more above him, eyelids becoming heavy with want. “You’re a total fox baby.” he dazzled, finally laying his hands on you. “I always wanted to make you feel pretty, just give me a chance baby and I swear, you won’t ever doubt yourself again.” You felt dizzy under all his attention. You’d always had a feeling Raph had a crush on you, but you never would have thought him so passionate. Gradually and instinctually, you leaned closer to him, hazily sealing your lips against his, humming lightly. Kissing him felt so natural, and so necessary, neediness taking you whole.

“(Y/N), I love you,” he confessed, eyes trained on your lips as he parted from you. You weren’t entirely sure whether or not to believe him, as everything around you moved so fast but you felt so special… “So whadaya say, dollface? We got food, your favorite movie, and all night…” he persuaded you, pulling you closer into his lap. “I can help ya get changed into something a little more comfy if ya want...”

Finally, your painted lips curled into a beaming grin and tears pricked your eyes once more, this time for overwhelming joy. “Okay, let’s do it.”

You and your partner have been together in probably the best relationship you’ve ever been in. It’s always had its ups and downs, but you two have always pushed through! And now your second anniversary is arriving soon and neither of you can’t wait to proceed with your future together!

Well, during a conversation between you, the guys, April and Casey, the question of, “So, two years… Do you guys think you’ll last longer?” Causing April to shoot Casey a small glare when he asked this, (let’s be honest he didn’t mean it in an insensitive way he’s just asking because it’s a genuine question).

Without missing a beat, you were quick to answer, “I’d marry him if I could.” A smile playing on your lips, not really noticing the subtle squeeze on your hand from your partner.

💙 Leo is over THE MOON! You would want to marry him?! Really?! Any insecurity of you possibly thinking about ever wanting somebody else is gone in an instance. You want him, and only him, and this man couldn’t be any happier.

💙 He’s thinking about it the whole time and is noticeably more spaced out because of it. He is on cloud nine and is absolutely fantasizing about the wedding you guys could have…

💙 Later that night you and him lay in his bed snuggled up together, the candles flickering softly as you read and he rested on you, his head in your lap. Finally, you ask him, “Hey, Leo? You okay? You’ve been out of it a lot tonight.”

💙 Leo could only smile up at you, “Oh, it’s nothing, just thinking about what you said earlier.” And once it hit you, you couldn’t help but blush a bit and smile with him.

❤️ Raph’s ego grew more along with the swelling in his chest. This giant turtle had some insecurities, I mean, as a mutant turtle growing up with the possibility of never being able to live a normal life like any average Joe?

❤️ He’s thrilled at the thought that you’d want to marry him because he’s definitely thought about it too. Getting some slice of normalcy. You know how I mentioned how he’s daydreamed about your first date? Well after the first year, he daydreamed about your future together too.

❤️ Get married, settle down, maybe even start a family, whether it be through somehow making a kid, adopting an actual child or just having fur-babies to be your kids.

❤️ Either way, he’s stoked, and he’s CONFIDENT TOO, oh man you just gave him ammo to tease you with, (don’t worry he’ll stop if you ask him to). He will definitely say things like, “I don’t blame you for wanting to marry me, I mean, look at me!” While flexing, making you laugh as he softly smirked.

❤️ Actually grows more overprotective over you too! Like… It’s surprising. He was already overprotective of you, but now he’s just more overprotective. 💜 Donnie froze a moment as he heard this, and his whole brain paused before quietly glancing over at you in a shy manner. Marriage? Oh man, he didn’t predict this as a result of tonight’s get-together!

💜 Don’t worry, he’s actually really mushy inside. He feels like a schoolgirl getting all squirmy and bashful because her crush confessed to her! He ends up getting more fidgety with your hands and stutters a bit.

💜 It’ll be on his mind for a good while, but as of now, he’s too shy to bring it up to you. Not until it slips up during your actual anniversary anyways. He was ranting as always about something, and well, that ended up slipping out. It honestly surprised you that he was thinking about that, it was really endearing.

💜 And trust me, it’ll always be running through his mind for a long time, he just hopes your opinion will stay the same throughout the years. But until then, Donnie decided to make the both of you promise rings! He presented it to you one day, feeling warm when you seemed so excited about it. “I want to marry you, but I’m also not 100% ready for marriage either. But when the day comes, I’ll propose with the prettiest of rings.”

💜 You made his century when he saw you wear that ring everyday. To him it meant that you were willing to wait until he was ready too, and he was thankful for that patience you gifted him with, and he was looking forward to what came in your future together.

🧡 Mikey would just as casually say with a laugh, “Oh yeah! Me too! … WAIT REALLY?!” And he jumped up and grabbed your hands excitedly. You had only see this kind of excitement when Donnie had built the Shell Raiser all those years ago.

🧡 Bro is so excited, “Why not now?!” And now you were in a bit of shock, and Raph was quick to but-in, “You need to propose with a ring, knucklehead!” Now Mikey is pouting. You end up hugging him and comforting him.

🧡 But in no-means is he deterred by Raph’s comment, he is now determined, and he’s been talking with April about what he should do, and that’s when suggested, “Why not make your own ring?” He stared a moment before he was quick to go, “April, you’re a genius!”

🧡 With Mikey though, he’s easy to get side-tracked and distracted often, and when it came to things that took a lot of time, he got frustrated easily. But he wasn’t gonna give up!

🧡 When he finally finished, (with Donnie’s help after he begged the poor man), he was basically vibrating with excitement! He was stoked and wanted to propose right away, but with April and his brother’s advice, he figured he’d find a more romantic way of doing it… He might put that ring in your slice of pizza, let’s be honest.

GAAH, gonna be honest, I was a little stumped with Mikey last night and had to sleep on it, change some things, all that fun jazz. ok i wanna talk about tmnt 2007 and the way i think this is the best version of a leo and raph conflict, and also leo as a character

for context i've been talking about tmnt things kinda chronologically, so i'm gonna mention an unconditional understanding in 03 i bring that up in a previous post about that show and the family dynamics in it here if u want context for what i mean

i think this movie can really be appreciated for the place it has between adaptations, and the way character-wise everyone is more or less the same as they've always been but with a more interpersonal relationship as the focus. the main villain of this movie doesn't really matter, the conflict, the fights, that's not where the strength is (although, it is reflected in the conflict and ill get into that)

so tmnt 07 is one movie that kind of combines the 90s movies, 03, and mirage all in one place, and tonally is is similar to the show that will come after it, 12. if the 90s movies give us conflict between leo and raph, and 03 gives us the unconditional understanding between the two, 07 takes these two aspects and creates a story out of it. (debate in your own mind if this movie is a literal sequel to the 90s ones or not, its not that important)

the set up of this movie is we are in a post killing the shredder world. leo has been told by splinter to go get training elsewhere, there isn't much context for what happened to cause this, but i would bet its a similar cause to 03, where he had ptsd and lashed out at his father to which splinter sends him to his grandfather to get better advice than he thinks he can give him. the difference here is there is no grandfather hes sent to, he's sent on a journey of self discovery around the world to learn about it and himself.

the thing about leo as a character, and this goes for all leos, he's has a very black and white way of thinking. leo thinks he's been sent away because he's failing his family, that he's not a good enough leader. so he stays away for longer because he doesn't feel good enough. he finds a place where he can help and he does that. leo always needs a bad guy to fight, or else he's fighting his own demons. so he stays there for a long time. finding a place he can help quietly, never letting anyone see him, and becoming a legend to the locals because no one knows what's really going down.

april manages to track him down and tell him about whats going on with his brothers, how they're holding up without him and without being a team, and i think thats a good reminder for him that they miss him. he doesn't tell april but he finds a way home only after hearing about this. when he arrives and speaks to splinter, he says "i was so caught up in my own world i forgot about everyone else, i'm sorry i failed" he still doesn't feel like he's done anything of worth.

i'm gonna jump in here and say, you know how we all love rise raph? cuz hes the big brother and some traits that come from that are like being overprotective and taking on everyone else's problems and trying to handle emotions alone? well that's a trait thats usually leo's. but the difference with leo is sometimes that concept doesn't make you as likeable. sometimes it means you come off like a nagging mother hen who thinks they know best but in an arrogant way. sometimes it makes you mirror being a parent when no one asked you to be. leo's less of a passionate character than raph, hes more analytical and full of himself. he takes splinters lessons more seriously, and hes always trying to do whats best for everyone so they don't have to worry. this is something evident with 03 and 12, but its so specifically noticeable here because these traits make up the main conflict. i just want to bring that up so we start seeing leo as no different than some of our other favourite iterations.

splinter responds to his apology by saying "you owe me no apology, but perhaps you should talk to raphael, your absence has been particularly difficult for him, though he'll never admit it" but when leo greets him raph is brushing him off.

on raph's end, this is him being angry that leo left, and angry that hes back and everyone wants to pretend that he wasn't gone at all. as if the time he was gone didn't happen. hes lashing out because he too cant handle talking about these emotions. and hes lashing out by becoming a vigilante in his own right.

i see a lot of people misunderstand what raph is doing here, that "this is what the turtles always do" or "this is the same as what leo was doing how could he be mad" when that is not true. that's what casey does. its true that both leo and raph have been fighting bad guys on their own (as a way of dealing with their issues) but raphael has made himself a costume to disguise himself which means hes prepared to be seen. hes riding a motorcycle around, which is loud. this isn't stealthy, this is aggressive. his vigilante name is in the news. the turtles are ninjas, they silently help where they can and fade into the night and, very specifically, they work as a team. these turtles live in a dangerous world, what if something happened to him while no one else was around? they would never know because he never told anyone.

so raph is lashing out, and leo doesn't have a good way of dealing with it. he tries to slide back into being leader, doing what splinter says but he forgets how his brothers are, and with raph egging them on they get into fights they shouldn't. which leo specifically gets in trouble for, as the oldest brother, and as their leader. leo tries to be this better leader hes supposed to have learned to be, but it doesn't work and raph ends up back out there in his vigilante get up. leo tracks down said vigilante, and in his peak "leo knows best" moment, lectures him, not knowing its his brother. there's a scuffle, and the mask comes off. let me point out that casey knew this vigilante was raph but his own brother didn't, because leo has been gone that long.

so lets get into what this fight is really about. on the surface, its "wow you've been going out at night alone putting yourself in dangerous situations with no backup" and "so what you're just mad that i can do it without you" which leo would be right about. and this is the analytical leo, he really thinks that's all that's going on here. what hes missing is that raphael has missed him as a brother, and hes hurt that leonardo left and just came back no big deal. that he wants everything to be normal. raphael is always a character with big emotions and the only outlet he knows to express them is violence.

leo, who as we've established, went away to learn to be better for his family is angry that raph doesn't see that. he's mad raph doesn't appreciate the effort he went to, and he thinks he's just angry because he's not in charge. each brother sees the other as being arrogant.

this leads them to the big fight. no one can disagree that this is the best part of the movie (seriously watch the movie for this scene if you haven't seen it before) , but the real best part of it is that raphael wins. raph proves hes just as capable of a fighter as his brother, if not more-so. he uses those sais as they're supposed to be used, catching leo's swords and in a fit of rage he fucking breaks them, leaving leo defenceless and completely vulnerable to attack. you'd think he'd be smug that leo lost but he pauses, going through a lot of emotions in a moment, questioning what he's doing, why hes doing it. and leo finally looks his brother in the eye and sees raph going through something he didn't before, realizing raph hasn't been angry that he's back, but that he's angry that he ever left. they don't have a conversation, because raph cant handle all these emotions and he runs away, crying as he does. leo just watches him, taking it all in and realizing the error of his ways.

hearing leo scream turns raph around, but he's too late to help him, and this is where raph regrets his own actions because right then, leo is also proven right in his argument. because he gets kidnapped. if leo hadn't chased raph down, there is a very good chance that would have been raph being kidnapped. with no backup, with no one knowing what happened to him. that's why its important that the turtles are a team.

raph goes home full of guilt, and there's a good moment of showing how he cannot open up emotionally here, because he grunts, punches the wall, knocks over some weights and forces splinter to ask him what happened, because that's how raphael is. he laments to his father that he finally understands why leo is the better son, proving that to raph none of this was about their team, but about their family. conflating the two ideas in his head. splinter gives him a talk that mirrors what he said to leo when he returned earlier in the movie, encouraging him that he is a good son and brother. this shows that these brothers have very similar insecurities about their value to their family.

the rest of the movie plays out as you expect, they go save leo, they stop the bad guy, they reconcile and behave as the team they're supposed to be. but i just want to point out that the villains plot is mirrored in leo and raph's conflict. the 'villain' here is a brother who has been cursed to be immortal without his own siblings. for 3000 years he lived to regret his actions and decided to undo his curse, but he used the cursed stone versions of his siblings to do so. no communication, just thinking he knew better (which maybe he did) and lying about it. that caused them to lie to him right back, and try to overthrow him and destroy the world. this is just one family whose inner turmoil could have destroyed the world. you might say, oh that's not a very interesting turtles villain, but its not supposed to be. its not the focus.

this movie is all about the complicated relationship between a family, and i see so many people talk about it by trying to ask who's right and who's wrong. that's not how it works. life is more complicated than that, people are more complicated than that. its boring to look at this movie and just say "leo is wrong and raph is right" because that's not even how the characters see it. this movie is about leo and raph being mirrors of each other in their arrogance, in their insecurities, and in their stubborn pig-headed refusal to let the other know how they feel. splinter says as much at the start of the movie. this whole movie shows that without each other, they need to be fighting something so they don't get swept up by their own emotions, which they are both bad at processing. they are SUCH brothers. they are so similar emotionally, yet they have such a hard time understanding each other.

personally 07 leo is my favourite leo for his complexity, his flaws his strength, his growth. its sad we never got those sequel movies to get into the other brothers heads as much as we got into leo and raphs heads.

also nolan north and james arnold taylor gave the best vocal performances in this movie and they deserve all the credit for it.

Something that I have kind of been thinking about is I have kind of been wondering what Casey's life in the Foot Clan was like before she eventually joined the Hamato Clan.

Casey: Those Foot Clan guys, they never really treated me right, but we were doing cool stuff. You know?

During the episode 'Always Be Brownies', Casey admits to Splinter that she felt as if the Foot Clan 'never treated her right' & some evidence for this can be seen in the episode 'How to Make Enemies and Bend People to Your Will' where we see that Casey seems to receive something similar to a lack of respect within the Foot Clan throughout the episode.

Casey: We’re here to get coffee for the entire Foot clan. And a vegan coconut scone for the boss.

Casey: I can’t believe they promoted Jocelyn over me.

Casey: Lookout support duty? We’re the lookouts for the lookouts?!

Throughout the episode 'How to Make Enemies and Bend People to Your Will' Casey has to watch other be promoted before her & constantly has to run errands for the rest of the Foot Clan showing that Casey is possibly not very respected within the Foot Clan or at least Casey seems to have to do the jobs that not many people want to do.

Foot Lieutenant: Okay okay okay. Love the intensity, but let’s just go stealth.

Something that we also see a few times from as early as Casey's first appearance during the episode 'Hot Soup: The Game' is that Casey is also constantly told by the other members of the Foot Clan to calm down or tone down her natural excitement.

Casey: To become a full member of the Foot, one must show commitment, and patience. I have been training since I was seven!

Something that I have been kind of wondering about was why wasn't Casey given more respect within the Foot Clan considering she had been training in the Foot Clan since she was seven & is clearly skilled in Ninjutsu due to her years of training as she is able to easily battle with the Turtles who are basically genetically engineered warriors through her skill alone, but something that I thought might be possible is that Casey might not be treated seriously within the Foot Clan because she has been training since she was seven & Foot Lieutenant and Foot Brute might possibly still see her as a child due to watching her grow up.

Mikey: I had it in my hands. I was literally ready to leave. What  part of "by myself" don’t you understand?

Something that I was kind of wondering about is if the fact that Casey & Mikey kind of parallel each other during the episode 'Hot Soup: The Game', which is the first episode that Casey appears in, as during the episode both Casey & Mikey try to prove themselves with their respective solo missions & something that might be possible is that Foot Lieutenant & Foot Brute might possibly still think of Casey as a child due to them possibly knowing her since she was seven similarly to how Raph is kind of overprotective of Mikey & thinking that Mikey is too young for a solo mission due to Mikey being the youngest brother.

• he's very dependable. he will clear his entire schedule if you need help and will always do his best to keep his promises. he tries to put you as one of his highest priorities

Mikey:

• seems immature but is very emotionally intelligent

• he can and will cook for you all the time

• loves to pick you up and spin you around as a greeting

• cuddles, cuddles, and more cuddles

• arguments are very rare but they get pretty explosive. they're usually about him being oblivious or you not being patient. they don't last long though

• nose boops

• pick up lines every single chance he gets

• he pays very close attention to your body language and tone of voice so he knows when to give you space

• loves pda, hand holding, hugs, cuddling, doesn't matter who's around

• isn't able to take you on traditional dates, but he sneaks you in to places he thinks you'll like late at night

• will paint you pictures all the time as gifts

• nicknames all across the board, baby, angelcakes, babe. his favorite one to use is sunshine

• ultimate hypeman. you go shopping? he'll be expecting a fashion show when you get back

• loves to play with your hair and your fingers. he's just fascinated by your anatomy

• kids? he wants but can't have (if you want them) and that makes him sad. he's content with knowing you will let him get the two of you a pet

• tries really hard to do small tasks for you like dishes, etc. when you've had a bad day, but he doesn't execute it well all the time

• apologizes first and will do so over and over again

• really values your opinions and makes sure your voice is heard

• you're sad? c'mon, tell mikey all about it over some cuddles and snacks

• very supportive of all your hobbies and makes sure to ask a lot of questions about them

• praises the ground you walk on every chance he gets

• he loves sleeping on your lap. it makes him feel so safe

• he's very kind. he takes care of you and ensures you feel like the most beloved creature on the planet. there's nothing he wouldn't do for you.

P.S.: I LOVED the picture of Leo you drew with electricity scars! They looked very cool! I like how you did, at least with that picture, made them glow, just to make them stand out a bit more; looked awesome. Also, Leo looked hella feral in that picture, and I am ALWAYS here for feral Leo, lol.

And I just saw some clips and amvs (one of those clips being from TMNT clips tumblr) where Shredder almost crushed Leo to death and also threw him very far, hitting a car. I would link it, but tumblr hates me, and doesn't let me (at least currently) link stuff anymore in asks (maybe the Tumblr Gods will let me do so again someday...).

And then later on, in a different scene, he started trying to crush Leo's throat with his clawed hands (man, Shredder, haven't you already done enough damage to Leo's throat and/or windpipe, like sheesh, man!).

Also, since someone mentioned April (you drew her so pretty! And I liked the scars you gave her), Casey defin. would have SOME scars too. Like, for sure some head ones, pretty sure that dude got some and/or a lot of head injuries in that show and/or just scars from being such a brawler.

Also, Raph and Karai are brain worm/brain worms scars buddies! I say that, but that is sad as hell, poor Raph and Karai. I could see them bonding over it though. And Leo and Mikey just worrying about them when they talk about it (Donnie would too, but like, Leo is very much an overprotective sibling and would worry about and/or dote on his siblings/family/close friends, and Mikey worries about his big bros a lot, and knows when they are upset) sometimes.

i think i remember that scene, there was actually a recreation of it during that halloween episode in season 5 if i recall correctly?? poor boy got his arms crushed twice, by the SAME damn person..

shdgsjbdjsbd thank you again <33 april and casey was great to draw too, dude you have no idea how much i needed to touch up on drawing actual people since being hooked on tmnt bc i went literal weeks drawing turtles instead of humans LMAO thank god for muscle memory or else i would’ve forgotten completely. and, yes, absolutely! casey would def have some head injuries, and more centring around his arms and hands too. he’s buddies with mikey, since they both get head injuries so frequently.

karai and raph would tease each other about their brainworm scars lmao, they’d compare which one is nastier and neither would back down until the others have to mediate the two idiots into a draw. this happens everytime they meet btw

“Donnie!….Donnies? MIKEY!? What happened to him!?” UTIFY Raph shouts, beginning to fuss over him.

Mikey moves a bit, face scrunched up from how loud his brother is being. DvD rocks Mikey a bit and brings him back into a comfortable sleep.

“He just used too much energy. He’s okay.”

Raph sighs in relief.

“You chaps scared me. Misa wandered off when we were looking for the other Leo and hanging out earlier, she found the other me. He was panicking about that hand.”

Dee noticeably tenses.

“Where is my brother?”

“He’s fine, I promise. Just a little overprotective right now.”

“….The hand didn’t infect him? Do you know if it was injured? Did you see any black blood anywhere?”

“Uh, no!? What kind of other infection can you get from that thing!?”

April grimaces, looking down at her arm.

“Should I be worried?”

“I think it’s the least of your concerns at the moment.” Dee replies.

“Why isn’t the hand injured anymore? We still have the rest of it, and it’s doubtful it can regenerate.” DvD insists.

“My Raphael may have encountered it before I did. Can you take me to him?”

“Of course, but where’s Gram-Gram- I mean, Karai?” UIFY Raph questions.

April wrings her hands together in guilt.

“I…..should tell you when Leo’s here too, but she’s not safe.”

Raph’s face immediately drops.

“But she’s an ancient warrior! What could have taken her out!?”

“…..Family. I don’t know how much you know about Hamato since none of you were raised by Splinter, but they’re filled with martyrs. I’d like to say we’re different, but every time there’s danger we’re fighting each other to be the freaking sacrifice.” Dee says bitterly.

Raph looks even more worried at hearing that.

April gets between them.

“Look, I know things are kinda dire right now but at least we’re learning stuff about this whole thing and the other Raph is okay. If we work together and don’t separate anymore we can do this.”

“If Mikey was awake, he’d agree. Even if it isn’t completely rational to do so, I say we push aside logical worries about our abilities and focus on a plan instead.” DvD adds.

“Donnie’s right. We get everyone can back together and work on taking that gross hand down. Got it?” April looks at Dee.

“…..Got it.”

“Good! Wait, you said other Raph was being overprotective, how’s that?”

“I’ll show you.” UIFY Raph starts leading them a little further up.

NFIF Raph is holding onto UIFY Leo closely and keeping his head on a swivel. Both seem perfectly fine except for the watchdog behavior Raph has going on.

“Is there a different reason for why he’s like this or is it just the obvious one?” DvD asks.

“Misa went to go get her portal sword and the only way he’d let her go is if he could at least keep an eye on Leo. Something about Leos keep getting the worst of it.” UIFY Raph answers.

Dee walks closer.

“Raphael?”

NFIF Raph quickly turns to his brother’s voice.

“Donnie! You’re okay! Come here!”

“Don’t do it! I can’t even do my escape maneuvers!” UIFY Leo warns.

“Raph, you’re going to have to let him go. His family is here now. It’s their job to protect him.” Dee touches his arm.

“I can protect them this time, all of them! And you!” Raph almost begs.

“Listen to me. You can’t do it by yourself. They took Mikey, they have Leo, and Gram-Gram is there too!”

Raph’s face pales.

“G-Gram-Gram? Theirs is still alive?”

“What do you mean she’s there!? And still alive!? What happened to yours!?” Leo shouts.

UIFY Raph looks at April for the promised explanation.

She takes a breath and tells them all exactly what happened.

There’s various reactions of shock, worry, and fear. Raph gently, very, very gently, squeezes Leo who squeezes him back.

Things got so bad, again.

Raph takes a breath.

“Our Gram-Gram sacrificed herself to shop her dad, the shredder. It….it was our fault, we took her out the Twilight Dimension and freed him. Now it’s our fault again for everything! The spores, the hand probably, your Gram-Gram getting trapped! I’m….I’m sorry…..” He starts tearing up.

Leo wiggles up and wipes his eyes.

“Hey, stop thinking so much! You’re working yourself up! Look, you guys aren’t bad guys. I’ve met a lot of them and you aren’t it. We stole from you and you still fed us, I’ve done a lot less and got treated way worse. You’re not the only ones who’ve….made bad choices. All of us have. I still kind of am but that’s besides the point. What is the point is that we aren’t blaming you because you shouldn’t be blamed.”

Raph tears up a lot more but quickly wipes his eyes.

“That’s some smart stuff you’re saying.”

Leo smiles.

“Being a thief isn’t easy.”

Raph finally let’s go of him, patting his head.

“Raph’s real proud of you for keeping yourself and your Mikey safe. I know it isn’t easy. When this is all done, if we don’t see each other again, I want you to know you’re always going to have an extra big brother out there who believes in ya.”

Leo blinks back his own tears.

“Yup yup, sure thing! And….you know….I guess I don’t mind it….”

Raph chuckles and allows Leo to walk over to DvD and Mikey. He strokes Mikey’s cheek which has Mikey nuzzle into it.

“So, now we can make a plan?” DvD looks around.

“I believe I have one. If I had access to a proper lab I could use the sample I have from the hand and the spores on it to create something to combat this new mushroom. I believe I saw one before somewhere.” Dee suggests.

April bites her lip.

“I did too. That’s nearby where everything happened. Are you sure we should go there?”

“I’m afraid it’s the only plan I can think of unless someone else wants to speak up?”

No one does.

“Alright, just be extra careful you guys.”

The group follows April back to the central area of the whole situation. DvD and Dee are behind everyone else, side by side.

Dee suddenly stops walking when they’re on the opposite end of the building housing the humongous mushroom, standing stiffly

DvD stops as well, raising a drawn on eyebrow.

“Did you see something?”

“No. I just…..usually Leo has fidget toys for me when everything is overwhelming. It helps for me to focus on holding or touching something. Just weight in my hands would do it.”

DvD glances at Mikey, somehow still asleep.

Is this close safe?

It was Dee who kept the hand from sporing them earlier.

“Here, you may hold him again.” DvD offers, carefully placing his brother in his arms.

Dee’s eyes light up slightly.

“I appreciate it, truly. However, I do also have a question for you.”

“…..Are you going to ask it?”

Something else switches in Dee’s eyes.

“You trusted yourself once with Mikey already and failed. Why on earth would you do it again?”

DvD immediately lunges at his counterpart. There’s no room for mistakes when it comes to Mikey. He’s made more than enough.

Dee’s eye color swirls with bright blue as he watches DvD hit a purple wall.

“Let go of him!” He screams and punches the wall.

The others hear this and turn around, shocked at what’s happening.

Purple, metallic vines appear from out of Dee’s battle shell, lifting himself and Mikey up.

“If I do that from this high, it’s not going to end well.”

DvD feels a horrific familiarity to this situation. Is this because he spilled his guts earlier? No, if this is connected to the hand then it already knew his fear.

It’s just bringing it back.

“D-Donnie….?” NFIF Raph nearly mumbles, not being able to raise his voice properly from how horrified he is.

“Yes, Donatello is here, Raphael. There’s more than just him. I think you know what that’s like.”

Raph’s hand goes to his formerly infected eye without realizing it.

“Leave my brother alone. Now.”

“Oh? Just the one? Are we picking favorites?”

Raph’s hand digs into his face out of pure rage.

“All of them! Leave my family and everyone else alone!”

Dee starts chuckling, the laugh divulges into true maniacal cackles.

“Leave you all alone!? Why would I ever want to miss a meal!?”

“A….A meal? What are you doing to them!? April shouts.

“I’m eating of course! It’s not enough though, that’s why I had him lead you here. Ah…..you should have realized what he was trying to tell you, but you still gave your brother to him.” Dee looks right at DvD.

Both Raphs struggle slightly at trying to hold him back.

“Mikey!! No, no! You are not forcing me to do nothing! I could handle Draxum, I can take on a simple alternate me!” DvD screeches.

One of Dee’s vines wraps around Mikey’s throat. This stops DvD dead in his tracks.

“Is your tantrum over now? Good. In being connected to various memories, I’ve become aware of the different kinds of entertainment that feature something like me. Musicals you call them. The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals, Be more Chill, and my personal favorite……Little Shop of Horrors. You may call me Audrey III.”

“Stop with your dumb monologue! Since you’re holding Mikey hostage and not sporting us, you must want something!” Leo shouts.

“I suppose I can tell you. Simply….”

The vines start grabbing at each of them, pulling them apart and lifting them up.

“Feed me!”

“Why does it have to be us!?” April struggles.

“Feed me!“

“Why does it have to be fear!?” Leo writhes.

“Feed me!”

“Why does it have to be ours!?” Both Raphs fight against the vines.

Dee separates them, bringing NFIF Raph close.

“You’re going to feed me, Raph!”

Ice Cream Kitty

Everyone in the family call Ice Cream Kitty differently. Leo calls her Icy, Raph calls her ICK, Donnie calls her Cream, Mikey addresses her solely by her given name Ice Cream Kitty, Casey calls her Ice Cat and April calls her Kitty.

Ice Cream Kitty acts accordingly to how the family addresses her. She's clingy and soft with Leo, cool and brash with Raph, sophisticated and delicate with Donnie, essentially her little shit self with Mikey, and she shows off her mutant side with Casey and acts like a normal cat with April.

Ice Cream Kitty is very smart and learns things very quick. She can and she will call you a 'piss baby' if you lose to her in a board game, and the only reason she's allowed to is because Leo doesn't know about it.

(L: Raph, stop teaching Icy how to swear!

R: You do what you must.

L: Why is having a mutant cat swear considered a must?!)

Ice Cream Kitty can read and write in English, though nothing too complicated. She usually communicates by meowing, but if there's something she wants to convey very badly, she'll write it down for the family.

There was one time Ice Cream Kitty completely froze because the fridge was too old and there was no way to control the temperature in the freezer. The next day the Hamatos were breaking in the everything your home needs type of store, stealing a brand new fridge.

(They had to stage a car theft, so Kirby won't be convicted, because they used his party van to transport the fridge. It was a fun night)

Leo has been teaching Ice Cream Kitty Japanese, as per Mikey's request. She's a good student.

Raph's been teaching Ice Cream Kitty excessive violence and acceptance thereof

(D: Did... did Cream just try to stab Slash with an icicle...?

M: My baby's free to do what she wants.

R: Yeah, don't deny her freedom.

D: Aren't you and Slash friends???

R: Friends shank each other all the time.

D: THEY DO NOT???)

Donnie has created several pet carriers for her comfort, because you never know when you have to run. And no family gets left behind.

Mikey has stolen several portable fridges for her. Surprisingly, Leo never complained about it. Now every room in their lair has a place for Ice Cream Kitty to rest.

Ice Cream Kitty is violently protective of her family. If you hurt them once, intentionally or not, she hates you, she despises you, she will claw your heart out and present it to Donnie for research. Leatherhead's cool though. She has forgiven him for everything.

Slash though? That bitch gets it every time he visits.

(L: Do you not like Slash all that much, Icy?

I: mrow

L: Right, you're a good girl that don't hold grudges.

D: *whispering* So we're not telling him Cream tried to murder Slash in cold blood...?

M: *whispering back* Let him live his illusions)

Karai and Shinigami are on thin ice. She tolerates them, but she will fight them in a heartbeat.

Donnie created a system for her to traverse the lair mostly on her own, like a real cat. Mikey almost died, choking on his tears, when he came back home and had Ice Cream Kitty greet him.

(Donnie never told anyone that Ice Cream Kitty was the one to ask for that. Because she saw how lonely the kids were coming home to no one greeting them)

Casey is financially indebted to her.

(L: Are... are you playing actual poker... with Icy?

C: Shush Leo, I have a good hand!

L: Don't play on money with a cat?!)

Ice Cream Kitty loves being stroked/patted and makes sure every single member of the family snuggled her at least once a day. Ain't nobody gonna escape affection.

(They adore her just as much as she adores them)

Mikey is a teensy bit overprotective (borderline crazy) cat dad. Everyone lets him be.
